Will Percy ever read the numerous fanfics about him? Especially the pernick ones. How'd he react do you think? I think itd be funny but also if I was Percy I'd be pretty upset tbh. Mostly about the Judy/Annie/Percy ones. (Also ever since Snow couldn't meet Percys eyes, all I've been picturing is a beautiful painted scene of a lightning storm illuminating Percy standing above the Capitol with Snows' severed head in his hand. 😌)

Also if Percy were to ever read the fanfic it would be in a separate fic because I feel like the tone wouldn’t fit in TSIYW. He would definitely hate them though mainly because they’re… really fucked up. Like they all glorify the hunger games + portray the dead tributes poorly. Also once Percy finds out what the Capitol is doing to Finnick, he finds the explicit Finnick/Percy (or Finnick/anyone) fics to be nauseating. If he read those before finding out about Finnick’s abuse though he’d probably find them funny (as long as they weren’t disrespectful towards the tributes/the brutality of the hunger games)

Idk honestly, I haven’t started the next chapter of it yet. I will say though that I’ll probably focus pretty heavily on it from September-October since I’ll be in a spooky mood

This is probably a spoiler but… did Thalia leave the hunt? I have this vague recollection of her in a dream not wearing the lieutenant circlet. Also I feel like Artemis wouldn’t want the literal lieutenant of her hunt to just go on a crazy quest to the “world without gods”

Yes, it is implied in one of Percy’s dreams that Thalia is no longer part of Artemis’s hunt

my (probably wrong) guess is that Snow will amend the reaping criteria for the QQ where any 2 past visitors could be chosen, gender be damned, to get Percy in the games in case he and Finnick would try to volunteer for each other 🙂‍↕️

I saw one of your asks saying that Percy being somewhat educated would be rare. But is literacy really uncommon among districts? I distinctly remember Katniss went to school and even had a friend here (the one who gave her golden pin). If 12th districts semi-orphan and main breadwinner of her family can afford a school, then surely other districts would too?

I wouldn’t say being literate is uncommon, but I think being illiterate would be significantly more common than it is for us.

Also, an interesting note is that in District 12 they can’t work in the mines until they’re 18, but Katniss mentions that other districts can work in their district trade younger (I think it’s mentioned in terms of knowing how to use certain weapons, I.e. tridents and axes. She comments that knowing how to use a pick axe would’ve been useful for district 12 tributes). So theoretically, district 12 citizens probably stay in school longer than there counterparts in other districts

I also just think the schools in the districts probably aren’t that great, and post pandemic we’re seeing a lot of schools in the United States pass students who can’t read or write just so they graduate. I imagine district schooling being fairly similar

Does your Percy have a middle name and if so, what is it because I’ve seen many different options like Achilles for example, and I don’t think they suit him so I wonder what your opinion is 

You’ve stumbled upon one of my pet peeves in Percy Jackson fanfic. He’s named Perseus because Perseus had a fairly happy ended (for Greek mythology) Achilles… does not. Why would Sally ever name him that?

Anyway, I don’t have a specific middle name picked out but it’s probably something random. Like John or Peter

Okay, full honesty watching the beard discourse has been wild. Personally I'm generally not a fan of beards but I saw the posts of Tom Welling as Percy and with the pic with a beard and I can see the vision. Percy would absolutely rock a well-trimmed beard.

Besides, given he is a god. He could decide beard one day, none the next, and eldritch glowing giant of "be not afraid/be very afraid" the day after. Let the author cook - you are doing amazing.

Tbh I'm not normally a fan god!percy but you write it really well!! I'm being deadass I didn't even notice he was fully ascending for a while (but I kinda view that as a good thing?? It feels really unrealistic for percy to be an entirely different person after ascension which is normally how I spot it in fics) but again you write his ascension and the powers that come from it really well

You're also really good at writing trauma. Even for the side characters like Marina and Marlin! The way you write always feels really realistic in general.

The way you compare (is that that's the right word here??) different characters and events to greek mythology (or even other things like the mouse, the shrike and the thorn.) is SOOO cool.

It also really makes me see the hunger games (the trilogy and universe in general) in a different way, like it's really expanded my view of it if that makes sense??

Your political commentary is also so well done, it feels like it fits the story and it just??? shows so much? if that makes sense?? I'm not american and my country is definitely going through it's own stuff but not NEARLY as bad as you guys, so I wish you a lot of luck.

Tbh I could go ON AND ON about all the amazing things about your writing but this ask would probably be 10k words long lol. Everything is just SO well thought out and everything feels so meaningful like what???? I could write an a whole essay on it honestly.

I’m the anon who imagined Finnick to look like Sam Claflin’s character in Enola Holmes and I just had the thought that with Finnick having a moustache and all, I think it would’ve been hilarious if one of his brother’s and sister’s was named “Henry” and “Millie” respectively. It would’ve been a niche but nice little jokey reference lol

Unfortunately I have already mapped out all of the Odairs, otherwise I would throw it in as a joke. Maybe I’ll add some cats or something
