It starts out small. The group of kids congregating around him as he shows off his skills. They're not friends, not really, but they're impressed and drawn to him, sticking around for the entertainment and for something they can't quite name yet. None of them would call him a friend, but they all agree he's the reason they are there. He's the centre point. But before it can go anywhere he is taken, ripped out from his home and bound.

It continues from there. He becomes a point of connection for the other kidnapped children. A thing to cling to when everything else around them crumbles. He's skilled, he is bitter and he is driven. He wants out and they hope sticking to him will get them out as well. There is something about him that makes them believe that he will manage even though all who tried before were killed. They're right. It takes years but he manages it, kills their master, their captor, frees them in turn, but the group breaks when he runs without them.

The next time it takes longer but it snowballs. It starts with one contact, a medic who doesn't ask questions, continues with a streetkid scouting for him for some coin, moves on to an escaped apprentice of the Overseers out for revenge, and before he knows it he has a group of 10 people in a uniform looking to him for answers, for leadership, for protection. Then 20, 30, 40 until there are more then 60 and they have to separate into multiple hideouts. Eventually they move into the flooded Chambers of Commerce, all together, all dressed the same, all loyal to death. Theirs or someone else's.

The Whalers break when he does, and though most eventually rekindle contact with him, there is a period of time after the reinstatement of the Empress when only two people know his location, Thomas and Montgomery. He runs after Corvo spares him, grabs only a small bag and takes the first ship to Serkonos, not even sure what he wants to do with the surprising rest of his life. He ends up staying on Bastilian for a while doing odd jobs. He meets an orphaned teen girl delivering papers to keep afloat and teaches her some basic tricks with a knife when she tells him how an Overseer had attacked her. He lets her keep the knife and she sticks around. Eventually he decides on a Vineyard. It takes him a while longer to find one and in the meantime a boy runs into him, fleeing from a gang member. They don't recognize him, but he makes an intimidating enough figure they decide the street rat isn't worth their trouble. The boy promises he knows the land around the Vineyard he's chosen and he doesn't chase him away. He buys the Vineyard, a while passes as he learns how to manage it and what counts for passable wine. A pair of teens hide in his shed, on the run from a father with a drinking problem. They promise to help with the imminent harvest. They don't leave afterwards. He has the space and can use the help.

Three years later there are 20 kids of varying ages running around the property, soon followed by a few Whalers that tracked him down and refuse to leave. He doesn't argue.

One night the Outsider appears to him, after years long silence.

"So. How is the new cult going? Better than the wine endeavour I hope."

"I don't have a-"

Daud doesn't say anything for the rest of the night. The Outsider laughs and lets him stew for a few hours.

watching the sdcc panel and i am just very :) about how sweet their answers to “what are some of the micro moments from the game that have stuck with you the most over the years?” are. taliesin saying what the fuck is up with that which was the first like The Party Gets To Know Each Other moments of c3. travis saying asking his wife if he could kiss her in campaign. marisha going way back to the cannonball competition in campaign one. ashley choosing the beauyasha date but also just the silly goat noise matt made. liam adding onto that to compliment matt roleplaying grass so well and then saying his favourite moment was writing a story for laura and reading it to her as caleb for jester. and then matt saying that was his answer, and that his favourite moments of the game are when they find ways to give gifts to each other whether tangible or not. and sam saying his favourite moments have less to do with the story and is more so when he can just. see his friends across the table from him. when marisha perches and when laura and ashley are (badly) drawing dicks and liam saying he loves when sam sneezes and ashley tells him to stop it and just. yeah. they Are an extremely popular online powerhouse, but i’m so happy that they’re also friends building a world together out of gifts to and love for one another.

like i Am so enamoured with the characters and the world of exandria but the moments when you can feel the love that those people have for each other reach out from behind the stained glass of their performances (to steal a metaphor from brennan lee mulligan) are so extremely special and i am endlessly grateful that they decided to share their silly little home game with the world.

Peter sounds insane. No one knows what a "gritty" is, or how to hit it. He has a weird obsession with caps, but he never wears a hat. No one knows what the hell "America's ass" means. Is it a dig at politics? A reference the "do the butt's match?" Meme? No one fucking knows.

Anyways that's how he gives his identity away AND Tim assumes he's from the future, the the batfamily makes contingencies around this incorrect assumption

u ever think about how andrew has never been alone? going from group homes, to foster families, to juvie. to tilda and aaron, to nicky and aaron, to palmetto with kevin and neil. his deal with kevin means he, too, essentially has the raven partner system introduced to him up until kevin enrolls in the university and starts classes. and then neil too - jean says in tsc they’re never out of each others orbits for long. he’s never been alone, even when he has been; there’s always been people there talking to each other, filling the air, to the point where he has to break on to the roof for a few minutes piece and quiet. and even then, when neil joins palmetto, he starts joining andrew on the roof (even if they sit in silence he’s still not alone). makes me wonder how he’d react to graduating and having a place to himself for the first time. would it be a relief or would the silence set him on edge?
