It's so clear to me that so many so called "anti Zionists" - especially the non Palestinian goyim - have no idea how the Israeli election system works, and how bibi remains in power, and why we had five elections in like, three years, despite elections supposedly being every four years - because he couldn't keep a government stable enough to stay in power. Bibi netanyahu is MASSIVELY unpopular, and his approval rate has tanked even more since the war started, even among likud voters, the people who vote for HIS party (although their approval rates ranked less than the rest of the population). He has an extreme right wing government because if he didn't cooperate with right wing extremists and haredim he straight up wouldn't have the majority he needs to be our prime minister in the first place. He's been on trial for corruption for years at this point, and tried to completely restructure the judicial system just to avoid prison - leading to nearly a full year of protests until Oct 7. Luckily it didn't end up passing.

If elections were held at any point in the last five months since this war started, not only would he not be PM, we'd straight up have a center-left government. My recent transformation into a Yair Golan stan account is a joke but also 100% real - according to polls from the last three months or so, if he does what he's campaigning to do, leading a combined avoda and meretz party, he'd get enough votes to have an actual influential left wing party in the government for the first time in decades. An unbelievable amount of Israelis are calling for bibi to resign, many of them not calling for it to happen after the war ends, but right now.

I am sourcing this information from polls conducted by channels 11 (kan), 12, and 13, as well as by the Israeli democracy foundation, all but one of our important news channels - channel 14, the last channel, is our equivalent of fox news, and despite their numbers often being extremely different due to what is in my opinion biased reporting and flawed methodology, even they at times have had to admit that gantz is currently leading in the polls.

(Disclaimer that I work for a company that provides subtitles for channel 13, but i do not directly work for channel 13. Channel 13 leans mostly center left, and employs several (self identified) Arab Israelis in front of the camera, including Lucy Aharish, who makes considerable effort to bring Palestinian and Bedouin perspectives to her show. It also employs at least one massive racist though.)

I write this post because I keep seeing an unsourced claim by goyim that there's a poll showing a high rate of approval - 88%! - of the destruction and/or deaths Israel and the IDF are causing in Gaza. I went down a rabbit hole and simply couldn't find a poll asking about approval of deaths or destruction, although maybe I was looking up the wrong keywords? As a result I have just... So many questions. Because with the information I have from trustworthy local news sources, from the news channels I mentioned above and papers such as yediot aharonot/ynet and Haaretz, it doesn't fit with current public opinion, including many recent protests for more efforts towards a ceasefire. So my questions are thus -

Who conducted this poll? Was it a think tank, a government agency, a paper, a news channel? If so, which one? Are they left leaning, right leaning? Was it conducted by an Israeli or foreign institution?

Who did they ask? Was it a sample of likud voters; all Israeli adults; did they include only Jewish Israelis or also Arab citizens (approx. 1.5 million out of our 8 million population), Bedouins, and other minorities?

When was the poll conducted? Was it in October, immediately after the Oct 7 massacre, before the death toll in Gaza grew? Was it conducted more recently?

What, exactly, did they ask? Did they ask about destruction in general, or about the death toll in particular? Did they ask about the attempts to rescue hostages with military means, or all military actions? Did they ask about the number of Hamas operatives dead, about their estimated ratio of Hamas to civilians, about the total deaths?

What was the size of the pool surveyed? Was it conducted on a few dozen, a few hundred, or a few thousand people?

Because without this information, that one, sole statistic is essentially useless. As Mark Twain said, there are lies, damned lies, and statistics. Always look at the source and ask: who asked the questions, who got asked, and what the questions were.

I did find one survey by the Israel democracy foundation that asked if the IDF should take the Gazan suffering into account - an entirely different question, although it did still have a horrific 89% Jewish Israelis and 14% Arab Israelis and Palestinian citizens who said they shouldn't. That said, the pool they were drawing from was not very large - 500 of the interviews were conducted in Hebrew, 100 were conducted in Arabic. Also, of the people who supposedly said that they shouldn't, a little more than half of both populations said they should "somewhat" take it into account - that is, they didn't say they shouldn't take it into account at all, just not make it their first priority. This survey was conducted mid December.

In another survey by the same source with a slight larger sample size (a little over 600 Jewish Israelis and a little over 150 Arab Israelis), an insanely low 15% still wanted Bibi to be the PM, with the only candidate who received more than 6.5% being the center candidate Benny Gantz, who historically has tried to cooperate with center and left parties, with a whopping 23% of the votes. The survey included 10 candidates, as well as five other non candidate options. 4% voted "just not Bibi", and an actually insane 30.5% voted they were undecided. Only a quarter of those surveyed believed Bibi would manage to maintain a coalition after the war, a number that includes more extreme right wing voters, and only the ultra Orthodox haredi population had a majority of people (60%) who believed he can. This survey was conducted in January.

The channel 13 news survey from early March - barely over a week ago! - covered more specifically which parties would manage to get into the government and how many seats they would get, as under a certain amount of votes you simply do not get seats. Not all seats get into a coalition. According to their poll, the amount of seats the likud would get is halved, from 32 to 17, while gantz's the state camp would grow from 12 to 39. While currently meretz gets 4 seats and haavodah do not get enough votes to get a seat at the table so to speak, a combined haavodah and meretz under Yair Golan gets 9 mandates. In total, the right wing only get 47 mandates, well short of the amount of mandates necessary to create a government.

Channel 12's corresponding poll from January shows 35 mandates for gantz, and bibi had 18 mandates. Channel 11, in the same month, gave gantz 33 mandates and bibi 20.

I also sources an English Jerusalem post article which reports on channel 14's polls; jpost is a right wing biased paper, and yet even they report 36 mandates for gantz and 18 for bibi as of February.

She refused to change her czech last name and fought for a higher salary once she discovered her male counterparts were getting payed significantly more, which was an incredibly risky thing to do. She went through so much hollywood bs like she was forced to drop her affair with Sammy Davis jr. She played her iconic role in Vertigo thinking about her own oppressive and significant changes she had to undergo in order to fit in the tight hollywood mold which i think is partly why the movie is so beautiful and timeless. She is a gorgeous soul and a great artist.

Our Hero

Looks like Dream Alliance is gonna win the poll-- in any case, even if it slips into 2nd place by the end, it’s the oldest AU on the list so it takes priority. ^^ The art train has already left the station~

I thought it’d be nice to start off with a picture of good old Mad Scientist Magolor. I’ve never actually drawn what he would look like after his big adventure is over, during the brief year or two when he’s considered the universally-beloved savior of the world…y’know, before Consequences™ start to muddy the waters. ^^; He’s basically the same; the only changes are his scar and Nova-freckles, updated vambraces, and of course, the wheelchair. I originally intended for his dimensional overcoat to carry his weakened body around, and I guess it could, but visually I like the actual chair better. :] It makes him feel more down-to-earth.

So, if you remember, a while back I wrote out a “bad ending” epilogue for Dream Alliance, which I admitted I didn’t actually consider “canon” to the AU. "So then," you may be wondering, "what IS the canon ending? What actually happens to Mags and Division Six after they save the world…?"

Well, I gave it some thought, and as painful as it is…I think the true ending would be very similar to the “bad” one. Hyness is the problem-- after all’s said and done, the various leaders of the world would probably want him dead for inciting a global genocide. And it would be hard to blame them…but at the same time, I simply cannot imagine a Magolor who would sit quietly and let his father be executed. Even if it meant having the whole world turn on him, even if he truly felt the punishment fit the crime, he would still have to try to save him. He just loves him too much.

There would only be two major differences, and the first would be the position of the Dream Alliance: one of the conditions of the “good ending” is that Susie discovers the truth about Magolor, but understands where he’s coming from, due to her relationship with her own morally-bankrupt-yet-loving father. She does have a talk with him, but keeps it under wraps, and generally ignores the issue until the public finds out that Hyness exists. And even then, although she’s duty-bound to respect the wishes of the rest of the world (and kinda does want to avenge President Haltmann Sr., who died during the Void fiasco) she feels bad about having to oppose Magolor on this, and holds back a bit during the final fight.

The second (even more painful) major difference would be…I think Magolor would decide to sacrifice himself to end the conflict. 🥺If the world wants a life to take, let it be his-- after all, that would be the harshest possible punishment for his father, and he knows it. Nothing would hurt Hyness more than to live out the rest of his days knowing his beloved son died for his crimes.

And it would also quell any concerns regarding all the power Magolor amassed during the story: if he dies, the Void Destroyer System dies with him. No one has to worry about the god-killing mecha or alien auxiliaries falling into the wrong hands; it will all be gone. That extra detail, I think, would be enough to convince other world leaders to accept the deal.

His angels would agree unanimously to die with their creator, because that’s how they are (Morpho might even pull a “see you on the other side”, being part death-god, after all…he knows they’ll meet again in some form~); Gryll and Adeleine would be inconsolable, the other generals would be low-key devastated too (I think MK would be hit the hardest); and Hyness would probably still be alone in his cell, able to ‘sense’ the loss of his child even without anyone telling him…and wishing for nothing more than to join him from that moment on.

[The Amazing Digital Circus/Hazbin Hotel] - AU/Reimagining Masterpost

Thank you to everybody who took part in the recent poll, and the definite majority being seen for 'Yes' in the responses, especially in regards the enthusiastic response from @willowthefoxxo 's Reblog!

To provide context for why I've recently been making Non-Undertale/Deltarune Projects, whilst writing the Second Issue of the SwilTaett NEWSLETTER, I began to question what it would be like if I attempted making Concept Art for similar Indie Communities. But this doesn't mean that the rate of SwilTaett content will be decreasing!

The two projects I'll be showing here will likely be worked on the most when experiencing moments of Burnout whilst working on SwilTaett, or in sudden moments of inspiration.

First, despite being the second of the two in regards to their initial creation date, isThe 5-Star Digital Hospital!

An AU for The Amazing Digital Circus where each of the Humans is based on a respective time period and an individual part of the human body, while still maintaining the style of the source material! Each Cast Member has been renamed and given new lore to fit the time period they're based on (even though none of them are actually from these eras of history), so here are examples for each:

Pomni is now Tricul (Pronounced ‘trick-yull’, based on the scientific name for the stomach because of Pomni consistenly throwing up in both Episode 1/The Pilot and in Candy Carrier Chaos)! 'Tricul' also translates to 'Kicker' in Romanian, which is reflected in Tricul experiencing such an unexpected arrival to this unusual world.

Tricul's Design Style has also been changed to resemble how Pomni looks in The Amazing Digital Circus, with the best examples of how she'll look in later Concept Art seen in the bottom left of the image. Tricul even has her own 'Well, it's possible' Replacement, further hinting towards her representing the stomach.

Kinger is now Fector, based on the Effector muscles and glands seen in the Nervous System. He's also based on the Middle Ages, is noticeably less quick to be startled, and will likely act as a wise mentor to Tricul speaking in a similar way to how Kinger does to Ragatha in Candy Carrier Chaos while riding atop The Fudge.

Zooble is now Promexis (Pronounced ‘prom-E-six’), with the design now being based on Ancient Greek medicine and prosthetic limbs. Whether Promexis has control over these false limbs is quite the mystery among the Humans (in which the answer is yes), and whether they still can if they becomes one of THE INCURABLES (Abstraction Replacement, she does and it's probably one of the hardest FIGHTs).

Gangle is now Nestling, based on the Great Plague, Leeches and the Eye. There isn't as much to say about nestling, other than her Plague Doctor-Inspired appearance, as most of her time is spent crying in the break room.

Although also not dedicated to a specific Human, these Doodles were used to finalize front-facing expressions while also creating a list of Potential Nicknames (although definitely not all of these would be used because of how spontaneously), while also providing the first looks at Ragatha as Rammczi and Jax as Geronimo! Both are based on the Great War as their , but. Rammczi is based on the Heart (based on multiple interpretations of Raggedy Ann and the candy heart she's described as having, such as in 'Raggedy Ann Stories' (the original book by Johnny Gruelle where the painter's Mamma ), 'Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy' (1941, ), 'Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure' (1977, when Ann/Andy sing as a duet in 'Candy Hearts and Paper Flowers' and when 'I'm sorry, and I'd like to help you, but I'm only a ragdoll with a little candy heart-') and the 'Rag Dolly'/'Raggedy Ann: The Musical Adventure' (1986, which is also the only version with the candy heart stitched onto the outside, after Marcella says 'Look! (What?) She has no heart! (Sure she does, inside, you can't see a real baby's-)' before the song 'Carry On' begins)) and nurses seen on the Western Front.

Geronimo is instead based on 'GERTIE, The Wonderfully Trained Dinosaurus' from 1914, which is often regarded as the first animated character with her own personality. Geronimo also exists with the currently-unnamed Bubble Replacement in a group known as the 'Pearly Knights', with Jax represen and currently-unnamed \bubble representing the Wisdom Teeth. The Pearly Knights have their own pre-written lore in the world of the Digital Hospital (which is best seen in the Candy Carrier Chaos Replacement) that Geronimo had nothing to do with, even if he definitely would've if given the chance.

Although not being as different to his toothy counterpart in comparison to the Humans and their Original Versions, it's time to re-introduce Caine as Braine!

bbh (as Braine would've ended up doing surgery on her involuntarily, as Tricul suddenly replaces the Dummy that Braine was planning to use).

Braine having a brother to act as the Replacement to @sm-baby's (sorry for the notification!) Able has been considered and probably does exist somewhere in-universe, but no digital reference exists of him yet. His name would likely be Braune, allowing for the Caine & Able biblical reference to be paralled with 'Brains and Brawn' in The 5-Star Digital Hospital.

The only idea I've had for his design so far is a 3-fingered hand with eyes that resemble fingers, with pupils as the fingernails, which also has a hole in its wrist for the mouth.

There are designs and lore made for the Candy Carrier Chaos Replacement (including Design Reveals for Gummigoo and The Fudge), but I'll be adding that in a Reblog in order to keep this as short as I can due to this post being much longer than average, despite only being the first half.

The next project is Ring Around the Halo, a reimagining of Hazbin Hotel with new designs and lore, for both Heaven and Hell!

Just like what's happening for The 5-Star Digital Hospital, the lore for Ring Around the Halo will be much more open because of them not being the primary focus of this Tumblr Account. This is why I'll first be introducing this project through God's Design Reveal, as well as the changed structure to Heaven and Hell's Hierarchies!

Because the commonly-accepted design of God in Hazbin Hotel content was first a Headcanon Design Drawn by Voidseeker, I decided to make My Take on what God could look like for Ring Around the Halo, focusing on the Holy Trinity, the Word of God, and the Good Word spread by the Apostles of Jesus after His ascension.

This image also presents how the palettes of Sinners are decided upon entering Hell, with the Sin that led them to be seen as deserving of Eternal Damnation being a dominant part of their design.

It also shows the Reimagined Version of Angel Dust, with an appearance resembling a male Orb Weaver Spider. I'm not sure about whether his time period will be the same in this reimagining, as this version of Angel Dust has multiple parallels to a real-world person born in 1978, with a similar occupation (even with the Character Theme being reused from the same source)! I'd also made a Poster Redraw based on Angel Dust's films seen in backgrounds of Season 1, but I currently won't show it here for similar reasons to the anonymity of Angel's accidental real-life parallel.

Niffty's Reimagined Version is the most recent example of what Ring Around the Halo is currently planned to be like!

Niffty, formerly known as 恵子/Keiko in the mortal realm, was a Japanese child who was taken out of her education during the events of the Pacific War, and placed into a textiles factory. As the war progressed, higher demands were needed and longer shifts were put in place, some children having to work year-long shifts. As this would be the time when Keiko's brain would first start maturing, spending her life in the factory was responsible for her warped view of adulthood, focusing on the tasks and responsibilities expected of a typical housewife (as that was already what she was also being taught at school beforehand) and leaving that as all she now knows.

Her design in Ring Around the Halo still has her as a cyclops because of her having a one-track mind by the time she arrives in Hell, and her childlike appearance is kept as a representation of her childhood being taken from her because of the conflict she was forced into sewing work for, which is also why she wears a near identical version of her uniform. Niffty's bug-based activities and appearance also have an expanded cause because of her being Japanese. This is because children in Japan collect bugs in order to feel closer to nature, as well as cockroaches being the most common type of insect in Japan, having Niffty's new appearance in Hell cause her to remember herself as unclean and having a wasted time alive as just another worker.

Finally, here are the Reimagined Versions of Alastor and Vox as presented in 'Stayed Gone'! Vox's Design is the oldest that Ring Around the Halo has, even being made before a name for the Reimagining was finalized, which means that his and Alastor's Designs could become subject to change, as the concept has changed very much since then.

However, Alastor's censored face (which has an appearance inspired by the Lost SOULs from Asriel's FIGHT in Undertale) being a physical representation of having 'a face made for radio' is an element of his design that will remain unchanged if he is ever redesigned.

Can you tell us what the answers to the six of crows color experiment is?

I realised too late that I really should’ve organised it as a poll somehow, because I’ve had loads of responses (thank you all very much) and whilst a lot of them agreed with me there were a few I wasn’t expecting. My associations in the order than I wrote them in the original post:

Red - Nina

Green - Jesper

Black - Kaz

Blue - Matthias

Purple - Inej

Orange - Wylan

So generally speaking a lot of people either agreed with exactly what I’d said or swapped Wylan and Jesper, which makes a lot of sense. A few people also moved Jesper and Inej around, which I understand and I wanted to add on that point I always connect Inej to purple with the idea of her reclaiming the colour and its power in the same way that she referred to her knives as her “proper claws” to reclaim the image of the lynx. Purple is the colour that was used against her and the colour that represents Ketterdam (Stadwatch uniforms, colour of Kruge notes, and the Geldrenner Ketterdam suite being the main examples); with a part of what separates Inej’s journey and her ship from Kaz’s style of vengeance is the acknowledgement that the city itself is the monster she’s facing, she’s been forced to come to terms with the idea that what happened to her wasn't the result of one terrible person or group of terrible people, but a dangerous environment and society that was never going to see her as an equal go matter what she did in life (this realisation is particularly linked to the “Rare Spices” billboard, which I wrote a post on a while back so if anyone wants to read that let me know and I’ll tag you) so by reclaiming the colour she is not only reclaiming the power Heleen took from her but the city as a whole. I hope I worded that all okay I worry that my point doesn’t come across properly it feels unclear please let me know and I’ll try to explain it differently. However I also understand the perspective a few people raised in their responses of wanting to separate her from that colour because she should always be seen as more than who she was forced to be, it’s just my personal interpretation that part of her pathway to healing is reclaiming the symbols used against her as a symbol of power to use against the system and people that put her in her position.

With Jesper and Wylan, I can definitely see it going both ways and I guess it also depends on what shades of the colours you’re imagining for each of them. For me, Wylan is orange because it can be a quiet, beautiful sunrise but it can also be fire and rage, it can be dark and deeply lonely but it can also be bright and blazing, it can be the first light of home in the dark but it can also be the flames of righteousness. “You were angry. I needed you righteous” “well, you’ve got me”. I realise all/most colours have a natural dual nature but I think orange does particularly and I think that it compliments him wonderfully. I connect Jesper to green for brightness, fun, the “lime green” clothes and vibrant plaid, but also for the farm and the card tables and the painful difference between them - the way his life split in two like a log cut down the middle (I don’t have my book with me so not quoting, but he says something along those lines in Crooked Kingdom when talking about how he ended up moving from the university to the Barrel).

I think the one’s who were always connected the same way were Nina to red and Kaz to black, and I wanted to add a couple of reasons I didn’t see anyone mention yet and that would be Nina being the “little red bird” and Kaz wearing black, mercher suits to mock them and to look, by Ketterdam’s colour-represented social hierarchy that I could talk about forever, like he fits in with them in the upper echelon of society.

And most people also maintained Matthias with blue, connections to water, ice, storms, but I think also it’s worth emphasising his blue eyes that Nina finds so beautiful

Soul Experiment AU: Experiment 041: Ink

Thanks for the support on my previous post about this au!! Since Ink and Error are going to be the "main" characters in this au. I thought I would start with them. I have more ideas on what to do with Ink though so we're starting with him. I'm going to do a poll after this so you guys can decide who I post about next. I'm planning on posting about one character per day as well as posting about my magic/soul system and then I'll work on some other stuff for this au like maybe a fanfic if enough people like it. (I'm also aware of how badly this is written, it's hard to fit all the details in this post alone. There will be separate posts about each character that take the form of Error's "Scientific Entries" but I wanted to go for a more narrative format here. Once again, ask box is open if you need clarification on anything here. I will answer even if I plan on including it in another post.)

To begin with, Ink actually has a Soul in this au, but it just doesn't work properly. Monster Souls work as both the heart, brain, and all other organs that would normally be present in the body of a Human. The "brain" functions of Ink's soul do not function properly, as his soul does not produce the magic needed for emotions and motor functions. This is where Error comes in.

Ink was taken to the lab to be used as a subject for experiments under the name "John Doe" as he had no identification, probably no family, and it was thought that he was fallen down, and that there was no hope for him. Ink was exactly what Error was looking for in a subject, a skeleton monster, fallen down so his soul must be in a deteriorative state, and he was completely unresponsive to any and all stimuli. This made him the perfect subject for Error to test the different ways he was going to wake up Geno.

Once Ink arrived to the lab, however, and Error got to do a proper examination of the nameless shorter skeleton, he came upon a problem. This Monster... wasn't fallen down. Sure, he was unresponsive in a way that was incredibly similar to the coma-like state of a fallen Monster, but it was different. Ink's soul was completely intact and undamaged, and so was his body, his HP and all other stats were completely fine, so what the hell was wrong with the subject?

Error called in the Joku twins, Dream and Nightmare, both coming from a family of Monsters with emotion-based abilities, both brothers being the last of the line and with the strongest recorded abilities. They sensed... Nothing? There was no emotional output from the nameless skeleton's Soul whatsoever, or even any emotional input, since neither of the twin's auras had any effect. This is where the experimentations began.

First line of business was to identify the problem. A Monster's Soul is similar to an organ, yes, but also so much more complex. Was the problem within the emotional magic portion of this Monster's Soul? Or was there another underlying problem that was causing it? If this Monster truly did lack the ability to produce emotions in his Soul, so much so that he was in a vegetative state, then how was he alive? How had he lived to be around the same age as Error? The scientist shook his head, 'I have more urgent things to worry about with this subject.'

A breakthrough. There was a breakthrough in Error's research that he had never seen coming. He had figured out how to isolate the emotional magic in a Monster's Soul. More importantly, he had figured out how to extract it. It wasn't a nice process, the Monster's had to be fully alive and aware during the extraction, which was incredibly painful and had lead to the death of many subjects, but it was incredible. If Error could manage to directly transfer magic from one monster to another, he could very well do similar with Human Soul traits or even entire souls.

However, this had to be tested first.

The original trial of Ink's colors is one of the few he can actually remember. He woke up on a cold metal stretcher with a bunch of machines making noise around him. His whole body felt weird and heavy. He was feeling emotions at the time, yes, but also didn't feel quite right. Like something was missing or that he didn't have enough of something. This was, of course, due to Error only providing a low dosage to start with, in case anything went wrong. Ink, of course, didn't know that, nor did the notice the glitchy skeleton wearing a lab coat that was sitting in the corner of the room, observing quietly and taking notes.

Ink blacked out again within two hours.

There was lots of testing done after that. The first trial was called that for a reason, after all.

Error introduced himself properly to the shorter skeleton by the time of the second test, seeing how the subject would respond to another person, which was met with overwhelming enthusiasm and then a puddle of vomit on his shoes.

That was a problematic side effect.

The main problem with harvesting emotional magic is that each emotion has to be harvested individually, and each is a different color. This was a problem because no particular label was given to any color, so testing each color and then recording the results was the most probable solution. Followed by giving more or less to see what dosage was the right one. There may or may not be a particularly ripped page in a notebook that desperately outlines the dangers of an intense amount of red.

Every time a test was conducted, Error would ask a series of questions to see if the influence of different concoctions would yield different answers, but also to learn more about the individual with the strangely marked bones. Oddly enough. Ink had no memory of a time before waking up in the lab, and never remembered anything that happened between tests. The memory problems were consistent, unfortunately, however not on the level of amnesia that was previously suffered. "Ink" is a chosen name, based on the markings on his face and the rest of his body.

Months passed and eventually Subject 041, or "Ink" as he had chosen to be called, was functioning as properly as an individual with a malfunctioning soul could. Going outside the lab was an option now, and Ink does regularly. He carries around vials full of each color (He decided that ingesting it was much easier than the injection method being used prior) but still lives within the lab as it is the source of his ability to feel and is where most of his companions live. (Getting to see and bother Error on a daily is a plus too.)

Last week, the eight teams for the Collab Tournament were revealed. Today, I'll be showing which team is competing against which, as well as the general rules for the tournament. First off, the rules. Yes, they're boring and suck, but they are needed.

Rules:

Schedule: The Collab is scheduled to begin on November 2nd, the first Saturday of the month, and will continue through the rest of the month until the fourth Saturday, which is the 23rd. I'll try to have all of the songs posted by or around noon. If not by then, then definitely before 5 P.M.

Sending in Songs: After the theme has been chosen (and a winner from the previous round has been shown), you will send me a song that you want your OC to sing, either by PM or IM. The song can be whatever you want. If it's animated or by a real person, it's fine. I don't judge; I know how hard it can be to find a song/singer that sounds or feels like your OC. (Don't forget the title of the song!)

IMPORTANT: If possible, try to send your songs in ASAP. I'd like to have all songs by no later than each Thursday night or Friday morning, so I can begin work on the week's songs. If you need help finding a good song or think you won't be able to post a song in time, either let me or one of your teammates know, and we'll do our best to help. If you don't, I'll leave the choice of song in your teammates' hands. If you don't like the song they chose, oh well.

Themes: After discussing it with my friends, it's been decided that I will be choosing the themes for each team to do their songs on. The themes will generally only be one word revolving around a certain feeling (similar to what ParaLive does). I'll try to pick a theme that's easy for people to find songs for. But if you can't find a song that fits the theme or doesn't sound like your OC, then don't worry about it and just pick a song that you like. As stated, I know how hard it can be to find a song that feels/sounds like your OC.

Voting: Voting is scheduled to begin as soon as the songs have been posted (which is why I'll be trying my hardest to make sure they are all out by noon, if possible). I learned from last year, so I won't be using Google Polls this time since it's annoying. I'm not sure which poll system I'll use, but I'll be sure to let everyone know.

As stated, voting is scheduled to begin each Saturday afternoon, and will last until Tuesday evening, which is when the winning teams will then be announced, along with the new theme. As soon as you have listened to the songs, be sure to head to the poll on the website and vote for the team you think won.

IMPORTANT: I know I'm probably wasting my time and breathe by saying this, but please try to be fair and honest when you vote. Don't just vote for the team that has your OC in it, as that takes all of the fun of the contest. with regards to the poll:

I voted yes, because I believe a woman should have the right to terminate a pregnancy no matter the circumstances. I do not believe the state should have the right to force anyone to have or terminate their pregnancy. And of the alternative, would it be to force the mother to carry the child to term? Either they’ll end up being raised by someone who didn’t want them in the first place or put up for adoption. The issue fundamentally stems from patriarchy and preventing an abortion does little to stem the effects, other than making impact a child who is born rather than preventing the birth of a fetus.

I don’t think it’s hypocrisy to hold the consistent belief that a voluntary procedure should not be denied, no matter the reason. And I think the comparison to thalidomide and alcohol is a bit disingenuous, seeing as the concerns with those are e effects on children who are born, as opposed to abortions which are, by nature, not born.

Ultimately the practice of preferring and selecting for male pregnancies stems from the deep roots of patriarchy, and preventing abortions is not going to stop the problem so much as it will pass it onto the unwanted daughters who will be forced to be born.

If you thought the thalidomide/alcohol comparison was disingenuous, then how about bride-burning? You may as well be arguing: "well, husbands setting their wives on fire is tragic and not a decision I'd personally make in marriage, but the alternative is that those women have to suffer through marriages in which they're unhappy because their husband doesn't want them anyway. Husbands not liking their wives is fundamentally a misogyny problem, which won't be solved by legislating against setting your wife on fire if you decide she's not exactly the way you wanted her. Men will just find other ways to kill their wives which are less culturally accepted than burning them alive, so we should focus on the root problem of systemic misogyny and let husbands do what they see fit with their wives in the meantime." Killing is not a proportionate response to a child or spouse having a characteristic you don't personally like, and saying that people should be able to give or take life based on completely spurious-- and as you yourself pointed out, entirely bigoted grounds-- is just abhorrent.

You seemed to miss the point where I said that the cultural practice of permitting sex-selective abortions is comorbid with female children being killed and neglected. THESE THINGS HAPPEN IN TANDEM because people take a legal permission or a tacit lack of enforcement as encouragement for their pre-existing beliefs. In India, as per the paper I linked, sex-selective abortion is technically illegal but culturally accepted and the ban is unenforced, which is where we see the frequent mistreatment of unwanted female children. In the UK, the practice is illegal and enforced, and we do not have the same problem. If you're going to make claims about "xyz policies lead to abc effects" you should be citing sources to back that up like I did in my original post rather than just making assertions as if they're factual. Banning sex-selective abortion is a necessary stage in socially decriminalising being female and solving the misogyny problem that you aptly point out, and then propose zero solutions to. like, if your experience of unacceptable misogyny is limited to things that can be rectified with a bit of social campaigning then I get why the measures required to hoist a culture out of the systemic murder of female adults, children, and babies might seem a bit radical. "oh well if we ban xyz people will keep doing it illegally" ok let's just unban murder entirely. why ban anything at all if bans do nothing to stop a thing happening or change people's opinions about whether a thing is bad.

Furthermore, your point about "forcing the mother to carry the child to term" is just bonkers. If we were talking about abortion as a whole, fine, but this is specifically about sex-selective abortion. The whole notion of "consent to x is not consent to y" is completely indefensible if you're trying to extend it to the point of "consent to carry a male child to term is not consent to carry a female child to term" (or the inverse!).

Finally, I deeply loathe the phrase "forced to be born". "Disabled people should not be forced to be born" "women should not be forced to be born" "people who will grow up in poverty should not be forced to be born" I'm sorry but being born is not a traumatic event for the child that ought to be avoided, what you're saying here is that people should not exist if they're going to have difficult lives, that it is preferable for someone to not live at all than to live in a suboptimal manner. I completely empathise with the feeling that people should not be forced to spend their lives in situations of extreme hardship but saying that they shouldn't be "forced to be born" is equivalent to saying that people are better off dead than poor/female/disabled/fill in the blank. You're saying that the most ethical thing is for human life to continue until the point at which it might start to endure suffering, at which point it ought to be terminated. The best thing you can do for people is to end their lives before they experience hardship. We can have debates about whether a foetus counts as a person or not until we're blue in the face, but it's an unavoidable fact of the phase "nobody should be forced to be born" that it encapsulates this bizarre idea that a) the event of birth is the beginning of suffering and b) the most humane thing for us rational thinking adults to do is to end life before that point.

Your ideal balance looks like you always being ready in a way that seems lucky… “Build it and they will come” kinda thing. You would do well where you can work on something at your own pace and then when the timing is right you launch, share, sell… whatever this is.

The key to keep in mind is to not build it without sharing… build with something in mind. If you build it for you, then congrats… you have it… lol If you want others to partake and give something in return, build with others in mind. What do people need now or in the future that you can offer a solution to?

As this is something that takes time to build up without income, finding a way to begin while in another phase might be necessary. Unless you have savings and wish to go that route.

Group 2-

Your balance seems to look like waiting for something to build with or for. You would do well in a situation where you build what other people want based on like custom orders? You seem to do well with the input and request part. People seem to be important to your role. You want to feel like a part of what they need. You want to use your skills.

I think the key to balance here would be to not forget yourself as well. Set expectations for what you will and won’t do and don’t give away things just to be a part of it. Independence seems to be a need here or even as a team. Be where you have complete freedom to say no.

It could be a good idea to experiment with things without signing big contracts or getting a new job. You seem to be in an easy to influence position even if it is your best your ideal. Go slow.

Group 3-

Adventure, absolute freedom in an area you know a little about where you get to explore. Something where you get to follow the pull… wherever it may lead. It seems there may be a need for quite a bit of activity as well but not in a constant way. Not sports or something, but maybe like hiking into caves that nobody has ever heard of… (an example for reference). Surviving in ways that others wouldn’t care to… like a trip that takes a month and is super exhausting but you love every bit of it. The imbalance of your balance 😂

The thing is that you may have to build this avenue yourself. Perhaps in the way of being an online personality or it may be that you have to fit into the mold of a company for this role. Which makes sense considering. For example something like acting… it doesn’t mean you are gonna be doing something you don’t like. This is your ideal so it’s a compromise that makes sense to you.

This could be something you start right now if you wanted. It would need planning and things of the sort but it seems like you could find ways to work it in through doses at least.

Group 4-

You seem to already have knowledge about something that you could put out there that would put you in your ideal place. It has to deal with a change that you know about. It could be something you went through that you can tell others about, or something that needs to change that you have the answer to.

The key here is to understand who you are building it for and to make sure it isn’t about you so much as how it can help them. Tell people what you learned in a way that can help them. Or tell people about what needs to change in a way that doesn’t blacklist you from their minds so to speak…

This may take some time to build but the most important part is the way it’s done!

Ok, so I'm just gonna apologize in advance, I'm sorry, I know you're probably sick of these types of asks. I was gonna wait till call the polls were done, but since you've been talking about how you've already started brainstorming ideas, it like I should probably just say this idea sooner rather later. So, have you considered using the power system you used for your A Declaration of Love and in your old "Miraculous Fox and Peacock powers" post. I felt it would be fitting since these new powers (like the ones in that fic and post) are based on the animal's symbolism, and this setup could allow for multiple powers. Plus, these new versions of the miraculous feel much like a return to back to how we thought the miraculous would be before season two so it could feel fitting.

Nah don't worry about it. And votes seem to be slowing down for the polls, and I've been itching to get brainstorming so might as well get into it.

With these polls, and plans being made to change, I've actually been gradually rewatching Miraculous, taking notes on eps and on characters to refresh myself and it's just taking me back to that time before s2, and just how creative and fun it was to get into ML fanworks. As it gave us so little info we had to get creative.

Like, on artist who used to do really cool ML art suspected Wayzz was a Grasshopper before we got the confirmation of him being a Turtle.

And man I found I enjoyed those days more, as what a lot of people thought of was far more interesting and fun than what we got. And everything that came post s2 really kinda railroaded us and stifled that creativity.

And a lot of the things brought in were:

Frustrating, like Miraculous are more powerful for adults, which why did Fu pick 2 kids and not do anything to help even the playing field? And we got the confirmation he has 16-17 Miraculous on him, why did he release the very two Gabriel needed? Especially as, arguably, Cat's just not that necessary for facing the Butterfly. Also! There's honestly more powerful perks to misusing a Miraculous, why are they so easy to misuse? And according to Paris Special, why is it that Miraculous are willing to gradually kill off kids misusing them, but won't do anything to adults who misuse them? This is all rigged.

Pointless, like the potions, which aren't really "power ups" but just suit changes. Changes that Miraculous already naturally do as the suit comes down to the user. If someone loves ice skating and it's naturally integrated into their suit, the Ice Potion is pointless.

And just entirely baffling: the entirety of the Rabbit, and Alix, a 15 yo girl, being made to be the Timekeeper, live away from her family and friends to manage the timeline, which, why is that being given to a human? Who are going to be biased and not neutral, made worse to be given to a 15 yo who's not fully matured, and clearly we see her involving herself in the timeline which I'm not sure she should be doing as that's influencing outcomes. And why did they even think a time traveling Miraculous was a good idea? That power is so OP and can get so easily complicated you can get a headache trying to make sense of what they rolled out with it. And honestly, what does time traveling have to do with Alice in Wonderland? If they wanted to really reference AiW with Rabbit, I would've voted dream hopping, cause dreams are wild, imaginative, chaotic, and nonsensical. And that could've worked in ties to the moon as people sleep at night, and that could've been tied to healing too, as dreams can be tied to the subconscious, and you could've done something with dream influence and help people face what they're dealing with. Or if Rabbit had to be another time related Miraculous, do something with influencing the flow of time, either slowing it down so the user appears to be going fast, or speeding up the motion of the user and others and objects.

Tangent aside, I am going to be aim to dismiss and change a lot of what canon has brought in and just kinda go back to working off those old days. I am planning on working off a lot of animal symbolism and myth, and some details that Thomas has rolled out I'll consider (like Pied Piper was a Fox, which suggests Fox should have also have a power tied to hypnosis/subconscious suggestion through music). And just go back to those days where we were more creative and better worked off the possibilities with animals. And ideally do some uniqueness that's not going to have a lot of similar powers, aside from healing and mass restoration, as I feel if there's going to be any repeated powers, those would make the most sense.

I will give ADoL a reread (cause it's been years and typically when I get a fic done, it goes out of my mind as I'm not giving anymore attention to it, so I don't remember everything with it); and it's just a little funny as this is the fic that gets brought up to me the most on relating to Miraculous and kwami changes. Like, Nobody has mentioned to me that Juuno was their favorite take on the Peafowl kwami's personality before canon rolled out ditzy and emotional Duusu. Which maybe got toned down post fixing? Artekai (he/him) and Fross (he/him)

why does your ship deserve to be considered the most toxic?:

What's NOT toxic about them? Fross is an immortal space billionaire, while Artekai (also Kai) is a mortal on Earth in the middle of a corruption arc. Fross has a victim complex, Kai has a hero complex. They enable the worst in each other, but they would hate each other if they actually took the time to get to know one another. They are in love because they are both somehow equally pretentious somehow, they are in love with the idea of being in love, they are just each other’s escapism. They met because Kai fatally stabbed Fross while he was trying to steal Earth's terraforming system (long story, they are Horizon OCs). But Kai quickly regretted it, because he realized that Fross was unarmed, and it was against his moral code to attack someone who was unarmed. And so, to avoid having that weighing on his conscience, he decided to take Fross and nurse him back to health. Yes, they both thought this was the most romantic thing ever. Kai considers this a casual fling like most of his romantic relationships, but Fross would do anything to make Kai his and only his forever. From lies, manipulation, and guilt tripping, to gaslighting, kidnapping, and isolating Kai from his loved ones, it's all on the table. He’s certainly not afraid to take advantage of the vulnerable state that Kai was in when he got into his relationship (he had just had a really bad friendship breakup, so he was horribly lonely and his ego had been shattered). When the truths that Fross had been hiding from Kai finally came out, Fross snapped and tried to kidnap him, planning to drag him to space with him and make him immortal as well so they could be together forever. It was then that Kai finally decided that he was done, and so he fatally stabbed Fross again in a fit of rage, coming full circle.

why does your ship deserve to be considered the most toxic?:

Lucille is a rich woman who has nothing to do in her life, she's eternally bored and wishes for something new��� something fresh to happen. Jo is a quiet woman with some repressed violent tendencies and who works minimum wage bug is struggling to make ends meets. One night, Jo decides to rob Lucille's mansion and kills her without meaning to in the process, escaping the scene anxiously thinking she's going to go to jail once the body is found. However, Lucille wakes up the next day, with the events of the murder burnt into her mind but her body spared of any wounds. Turns out getting killed is EXACTLY the spice in life she was waiting for! So she decided to track down and knock on her murder's door— not to rat her out, but to ask her to do it again. Jo wasn't really for murdering again, especially with how anxious she ended up getting in the aftermath, but begrudgingly accepts. And it seems that Lucille IS actually very fun to kill for her, too. Cue to Jo murdering Lucille on a Weekly basis, getting very Gay about it each time. Lucille get the thrill of death she wanted, and Jo gets an outlet for her violence. A relationship starting as purely transactional at first slowly turns into a murder romance. They're both kinda fucked up in isolation to one another but complete eachother awfully well. Like "you two are perfect for eachother but never pull anyone else into your bullshit" kinda deal. They keep eachother contained. You feel me.

Cover letter tips, please? <3

Quick note - I only use Tumblr mobile which does limit my ability to write/format long response well but I will do my best! Sorry it's taken so long to answer, I haven't actually finished so this is v1!

This anon is because I voted for "write a cover letter" on the poll about "which adult activity are you happiest to do" - the number of people happy to build Ikea furniture is mind boggling to me!

A little about me. I am a manager and have been involved in recruitment for many years. I have shortlisted and interviewed people for roles from apprentice up to senior leadership. I have also mentored several people into my industry.

And I have worked for several industry lead companies.

Tip one - the mindset.

You are not writing about yourself, you are writing about your friend, who is the ideal candidate for this job. They just so happen to have done the exact same things as you, but they are not you. You love them. You are proud of them and impressed by their achievements.

Socialisation teaches us to be modest and not to value what we have accomplished ("because I did it I guess it wasn't such a big deal?"), so framing the cover letter as being for a dear friend can help to get over this discomfort. This doesn't work for everyone though, but I think it's still worth trying.

When something is ahead of us we view it as a dream or aspiration, and someone else who has that thing is superior, Impressive, has their life sorted out. But when we look at those same things in our own past, we devalue them, partly because they become normalised to us... But I also think that living in a society that minimises women's achievements lead us to devalue our own - we judge ourselves with the eyes of patriarchy, rather than the eyes of someone who loves us.

So treat yourself as you would someone you love. Recognise what you have done and acknowledge the value of those things.

Tip 2 - The Process.

go through the job advert and make a bullet point list of the things they have explicitly asked for. This will be a mix hard and soft skills, or even come from how they describe the job environment. Leave a few lines between each bullet point.

- Computer literate

- Customer service

- Fast-paced environment

- Changing priorities

- Organisation

- Field specific systems/knowledge

- Previous experience in the industry

Next you are going to bullet point all the things you have done on a separate piece of paper. Again, leave space between them.

If you are young and early in your career you will need to find these things from a wider pool. If you are established in your career then you may only need to use your current job and maybe one or two previous roles.

- Qualifications (all of them - school, college, music, sports, anything you worked for and were examined in)

- Working in shop/bar/warehouse

- Volunteering

- Extracurricular activities

- Work experience

- Your current job

- the job before that

- Childcare for your siblings/cousins

There are two methods for what to do next

Method 1

Take the list of requirements and apply it to everything in the experience list

- working in shop/bar/warehouse = use computer for stock taking, fast paced customer facing environment, have to organise the kitchen/stock, prioritising orders

- volunteering with the scouts = using emails to communicate and organise

Method 2

Take some scissors and cut up all the bullet points of things you have done. I like to have the piece of paper with the list of requirements on the left and the cut up bits on the right.

Then you start pairing them up. Doesn't matter how tenuous it is, you are making what you have done match what they want. Also you can use the same example for multiple things, if it is the best fit for those.

Computer literate = learning IT at school, current job, volunteering to help teach elderly people use emails.

Customer service = bar/shop work, volunteering with scouts

Fast paced environment = bar/shop work, doing theatre tech at school, being on a sports team

Changing priorities = looking after your siblings/cousins, a project you worked on at college, bar/shop work

Organisation = scheduling your work/school/extracurriculars, current job,

Field specific systems/knowledge

[Another landslide poll! Y'all are focused in your desire to help this horrific, lich-like royal (and I'm excited about it too).]

You look through the dark doorways across the room. You'll need every advantage you can get if you are going to get anything out of this place and leave to tell the tale. It never hurts to have an ally, even if just for now. Who knows if you'll even find his brother down here? You just need to get out of this room.

You agree. If you discover Dainéal during your time here, you will work to kill him.

Fionn's chorus of leeches squeal-speak pleasantly.

"Aw, excellent. I knew there was ambition in your heart. I am a good judge of these things, you see.

"Go then. Find him and end him. When you are done, return to me. I shall have a gift for you, knighthood of a sort. For now, I shall remain here and you are free to rest here." You know you'll need a light down here to do anything safely, especially with the walking dead patrolling the halls. You ask him for aid, just one thing: a way to light the path.

"Well, well" He laughs, squirming squeals from a hundred leeches. "So soon and already you are asking for aid. I will admit you do not look prepared fully for a place like this."

His skeletal hand reaches over into the chest cavity of a nearby bone warrior and pulls a small necklace from out of the center of the writhing mass of leeches. As his fingers unfold, soft beams of light pour out to partially illuminate. The necklace is a fine silver chain holding a small, glowing moonstone amulet. [Mechanically, this amulet grants low light near the wearer (typically, room-wide). You guess it is likely worth around 1,500 hacksilver.] "Take this, but know that in doing so, you are barred from returning to the surface until your quest is complete. That way," he gestures towards the chimney, "is barred to you know, until Dainéal is dead. All who have stolen from me have died. Do not test me."

You take up the necklace and drape it over your neck, now seeing more clearly the disgusting mass of leeches and bones surrounding Fionn. The undead warriors stare blankly in your direction.

It is late in the day, you think. It is hard to tell underground but the light from the fireplace is darkening. Best to rest here as well as you can before heading off.

You start a small fire, sparking the kindling of old papers you dug up from the far corners of the room with the rough blade of the old sword you found in that woman's grave, and cook the dead monk's fish. The entire time, Fionn sits still, sometimes humming a tune you don't recognize. Occasionally, a shutter runs through all of the skeletons, like a shiver down your spine.

You sleep very little, but still, the rest does you well.

In the morning (you think), you gather your belongings and head off into the dark, nodding at Fionn as you go.

To the east, you hear shuffling.

To the south, you hear a strange grinding.
