what if sonic isnt in sonic cd in this au. shadow takes his role when he learns the doctors scheme. (he was. busy.) he goes through the game essentially as sonic would have and chews eggman out for kidnapping a goddamn civilian whos like 8 years old!! eggman orders metal to stop shadow which is what leads to stardust speedway or its equivalent but like also. ALSO. shadow fighting metal? a living weapon made from the twisted image of one whos meant to save? he is going to be SO abnormal about that. fucked up, even.

and AMY!!! amy my girl you are essential to this au. amy following her cards which lead her to shadow would actually be so interesting bc shadow is undeniably eggmans ally but hes ALSO her white knight according to the cards so clearly there Must be good in him! SHE is the lynchpin of the narrative that reignites shadows hope, especially when despite everything, she declares them friends. shadow has hesitant allyship with sonic and tails by the time of CD, but amy is the first to Befriend him and actually invite him out. unlike the others, unlike GUN, shes not afraid of him. shes actively Kind to him.

since she wouldnt really Know team sonic in this au bc sonic didnt save her, team rose is gonna be more important to amy and therefore shadow. big being someone he can hang out silently and autistically with and cream helping him relearn Whimsy is very important to this shadow methinks. and theyre amys besties! they get her like no one else does!

perhaps maria will take on a lot of shadows role in sa2 with the whole crisis abt revenge vs kindness thing and therefore! it is amys kindness that gets through to Her just like it did for shadow.

so if the experimental cures based on shadows dna gave maria black and red eyes like eggman used to be depicted with and she used them to take the fall for shadow allowing him to live on earth where he grows up with/raises eggman and they have a very strained semi-mutual-interests-based relationship until SA2 where eggman unearths maria in a G.U.N. bunker would that be fucked up or what

hmmm, maybe!!!! tho actually ?? i LOOOVE the idea of them being human sized! the characters canonically have heights listed in ft, and TECHNICALLY this could just be like.... irl units scaled down, BUT i think its rly fun to interpret it fairly literally!! ESP given that liam and bryce DO end up standing near humans at two points and seem to be around the same height! IDK... theres just smth so cool to me about imagining objects just hanging out. that you could be at eye level w them. its almost unsettling but not enough for it to be noticable!!!! its kinda like theyre Large Beasts, but almost SHOCKINGLY human!!!!! like they could believably just. live in the same house as a human with near minimal adjustments. like having an alien living w u. that may just be my general interest in alien/creature/whatever design, but i just RLY enjoy them being similar to humans in small ways, but different in more SUBTLE but arguably MORE extreme ways if that makes ANY sense!!!!

NOT to say i dont like when theyre drawn closer to the size of dogs or cats (itd be a little silly for me to spend so much time on that recent piece if i did!)! i think itd be a bit MORE of an au than just them just being human height, but i DO think it could be SUPER cute. i tend to Generally lean on less on those sorts of ideas but it certainly would be VERY fun!!!!

a sumi haircut variation ive been testing out. i wanna say its a bit post-canon, not too far off, maybe a year or so. hasnt quite figured out what to do with herself yet, but shes getting there. only a little ways away from graduation.

i am. still just so glad i got out of teen wolf when the cast started falling apart. like season three was such a shitshow from day one and made me INSANE as it was airing and i just could not continue to watch for season four after they killed off or wrote off essentially half the cast and killed all the found family potential and i will admit!!! that seeing crystal reed herself on a new teen wolf story DID tempt me!!!! i am only human!!!! i am not immune to allison argent!!!! but truly i know myself and i know that the show died a horrible death for me over the course of s3 and there’s a lot of good reasons i stopped watching it and those reasons will sustain me through my decision to not watch this new movie

all that said. @ my loyal six followers. please do not be alarmed if i end up temporarily in a teen wolf revival moment. i am not immune to allison argent and the nostalgia of it all DOES make me want to go back and reread all the old classic pack fics from before davis decided to start killing kids left and right !!! i am not immune to the powerful energy of sterek writers, nor to the call of pack-fics!!!!

ASL brothers HAIKYUU!! AU!!!!!

Day one of Self Indulgent month for me! I love these three, i love haikyuu, i love killer whales!

(The Naval Academy is this au’s version of marines)

For those who dont know, in Haikyuu (and prob in real life too but in my experience its not as important as they make it in the anime) The "Ace" of the team is the person who primarily scores points via spiking. Theyre the Hard Hitter, basically.

Originally, i was gonna make their school mascot just "The Pirates" but i couldnt figure out a clever pun with the school name so i scrapped it in favor of an animal mascot. I figured I would have a wider range of puns that way.

I landed on Orcas as the mascot because I think they really embody a pirate way of life. Theyre strong, hang out in groups of a mix of found family and their actual family, hate the rich, and theyre fun loving! And also im a bit biased because theyre my favorite animal, but hey, i said its self indulgent month, didnt I?

Their school name is a play on the word for Killer Whale (Shachi シャチ) and the word for 'knowledge' (Chishiki 知識), i just smashed the two words together. I'm very proud of myself for coming up with that given i dont speak japanese at all.

Anyway, with their designs, I was taking inspiration from orcas to match the design themes of haikyuu. Ace's hair is bleached on the underside to look like the underside of an orca's body, I made ace and sabo's eyes look more whale-like, the clip in sabo's hair is meant to resemble to spots behind orca's eyes, and I tried to make luffy's hair look more like it's round and spiking down more than i usually do.

Ace is wearing a ''way of the ace" shirt in the first picture, Luffy is wearing a shirt that just says "VOLLEY BALL" because i think it would be funny if he wore a bunch of those Zero-context-poorly-translated-random-english-words shirts that theres a bunch of in Asia. Sabo dyes his hair like delinquents do, but it doesnt much look delinquent~y because of how soft it looks. He means to do it to make him look like a delinquent though. Sabo still has his scars in this au, but he uses his hair, arm braces, and leg braces to cover them up. LUFFY AND ACE HAVE FUNKY SOCKS BECAUSE NO ONE CAN TELL THEM (or me) THEY CANT. Sabo wears athletic socks though because he's a debbie downer. He defends himself saying “It’s practical” and Ace and luffy call him “practically a Debbie Downer.”

Luffy is very good at receiving from growing up with Sabo and Ace practicing setting and spiking with eachother and assigning Luffy as Ball Boy. So he got the libero position from that cuz sabo and ace put in a good word for him. Nepotism.

I didn't feel like coming up with designs for them, but Zoro and Bepo are also on their team (theyre in the fifth image sitting on the right of the line of students). Koala and nami are student managers, Robin is the teacher manager, and Franky is the coach. all other straw hats/luffy friends, rev army comrades, and whitebeard brethren are in the stands. Im trying to keep the ages consistent with how they are in canon.

I didnt do a very in depth research, but i couldnt find what Japanese schools have as mascot costumes. and given no one wears any costumes in haikyuu for their team, i can kind of assume they dont use them over there. But unfortunately for them, I'm American. And part of the backbone of our schooling system, is Vaguely Unsettling Mascot Costumes. My sister says my design for it looks like its from Club Penguin, and i find that delightful. [moment of silence for my billions of fallen Puffles, taken from me in The Shutdown] Anyway.

I thought I was clever coming up with the equivalent of the Marines in this au being a Naval Academy. And their mascot being Seals, famously the animal that gets the absolute Worst Of It from orcas. Get shit onnnnn

binghe’s poor mother in the roommates au… i’m picturing her sitting him down like “you know i’ll always accept you no matter what, right? a-yuan too.” because surely that must be what he’s worried about. surely that’s why he’s still saying he’s straight and not confessing to shen yuan. and binghe’s just like “i know? anyway i got a new girlfriend yesterday, my last one was so mean to yuan-ge though, so of course i’ve been cuddling him to sleep every night as an apology” and binghe’s mom bashes her head into the table

since binghe's mom works for shen yuan's parents and their kids are best friends in this au i like to think theyre also good friends. the parent trio just hanging out for dinner sharing stories about their kids going do you see this shit?

shen yuan's dad: a-yuan took binghe to our countryside cottage for a vacation and he dismissed all the staff so they could be alone during their stay

binghe's mom: do you think they're finally-

shen yuan's mom: no shen yuan just called last night and said it was because "binghe makes better food than the chef, so there's no need to make them come into work while binghe is willing to cook for me"

after sitting on this game in my steam wishlist for ages, I finally gave it a try when another one of my friends started it, and it ended up becoming one of my favorite rpgs (and games in general) of all time. the emotional rollercoaster this game put me through is unparalleled. so obviously i needed to turn all the main characters into ponies and funny animals.

Notes on my reasoning and thoughts below! (Including major game spoilers!)

As for the sonic character animals the reasons are a lot more simple also i didnt for au lore crazy with them. theyre just furries now: Siffrin- he literally goes nya. he makes cat mouths all the time. they also like silently hanging out with their loved ones, agile and sneaky, etc. Mirabelle- she is so fucking nervous all the time. a little guy seemed fitting. Also, unintentionally, her being a mouse with her rapier makes her look like the tale of despereaux guy Isabeau- a supportive, happy go lucky guy being made a dog seemed pretty obvious, but i wanted to be a little more creative and thoughtful than that, so i specifically went for a smarter dog breed: a collie :] kind of like herding he also brings and corrals the group together Odile- suggestion of a friend, a yellow-throated marten :] just looked really cool and very odile. simple as that Bonnie- wombat-- suggestion from a friend, too :] But in general the idea was a burrowing animal, because they're digging in the ground for tubers to me.
