yeah yeah Regulus pining after James as a child and James doesn’t notice him but James when he was a child constantly asking Sirius where his brother is and if he can come out to hang out with him and makes up some excuse as to why he’s asking for it so much James who when they started being friends constantly tagged after Regulus and if he was out with his other friends James just waited by the phone for his call James who is so pathetic when it comes to his love for Regulus literally everyone besides Regulus knows about it James who stares hopelessly after Regulus never asking for more because he’s not sure Regulus feels the same way and soothes himself by saying “at least we’re best friends” at least they have that kind of love

myung jaehyun is absolutely, hands down, the best leader for boynextdoor.
I always stand by the leader of groups being the best leaders for their groups, but it’s definitely a role that they have to grow into and improve constantly on. just like any other position in the group. just like any other thing you do.
that said, until the fanmeeting, I didn’t quite have the words to truly express why I feel so strongly about jaehyun’s role as the boynextdoor leader—especially as I think to a lot of non-onedoor, it can seem a bit confusing or not apparent at first. which mostly comes from jaehyun sitting outside the norm for a leader (particularly in hybe bgs) at least in personality.
jaehyun is loud. that’s like… something well known about him. he’s talkative and playful and despite being shy, he’s definitely the kind of person to enter the room knowing no one and leave with at least 5 new friends. his approach to people is one that feels very open and bright.
for this reason, I do think many people might not first associate him with the leader role. with most groups, the most energetic member is probably not the first considered as “oh yeah that’s the leader”. jaehyun is all the playful and energy-filled that usually comes with the member who the leader needs to keep an eye on the most and eventually has a bunch of youtube compilation videos.
that said, these qualities are exactly why I think he makes such a great leader for boynextdoor. as mentioned in the fanmeeting day 2 ending ments, the members of bonedo are the type of people to put up a straight face and keep their struggles to themselves. as woonhak and they have expressed, an example being woonhak putting on a smile and performing, despite dealing with grief. they’re very much the people to not make their problems someone else’s and to maintain a collected image in front of others.
while I also think jaehyun does this, as most people who are leaders may tend to for the sake of their groups, he’s also very very very unapologetically himself. he feels so much. his tendency to cry being a prime example of that, though not the only. the point is that jaehyun is expressive and open and in this, jaehyun contrasts with his members.
as woonhak has stated before, jaehyun has expressed that it’s okay for him to cry, to need to take a break, to sit this one out. jaehyun in general approaches his members with a lot of care. but overall, the stand out is that I believe jaehyun navigates along the lines of… feelings are meant to be felt. he has no qualms with any emotion being felt the way it occurs to us. yes there are ways to handle them, but ultimately, the feeling—whatever it may be—is there to be felt and expressed.
this is also seen in how he interacts with his members. in his very tactile approach to express the love and care he has for the rest of bonedo. the pride he feels for them. whatever words I’m not able to formulate to describe the whole yeppi exchange between him and sungho in the 3rd comeback show special.
it’s also in his loudness and energy. it’s all about expression. he’s so much, but it only feels that way, in my opinion, because he’s overwhelmingly unafraid and unapologetic of being himself, in a way that the industry might otherwise discourage. he’s not against expressing how he feels and while it likely won’t be the most apparent until later in their careers, I do think he’s the type to speak his mind.
all that said, the point is that these qualities do exist in contrast to his members and thus… encourage them to do the same. maybe not to be speeding around all over the place, but rather to allow themselves the space and time to feel as they do. that they don’t have to keep it all inside to avoid making it other peoples problems. they’re a team, if nothing else. and it’s in jaehyun being so so so much himself, being exactly the person he is, not something specially crafted to fit a particular image, he encourages the other members to be the same.
jaehyun helps to curate a safe space within their group by exhibiting that there’s nothing wrong with being the person they are. to feel whatever they feel. to express when things are going good or bad or somewhere in between. to approach things as they come and take them in stride, even if it’s without prior planning. that if a leader is meant to push a group forward and help them grow, then jaehyun steps up to the plate in that art cannot be made without emotion and so to become better artists, to continue being artists, it’s so important to find the safe spaces of being able to express and feel everything as they should be felt.
this is why I think jaehyun has some of the strongest lyricism currently in the group. it’s why I think he was a powerful force coming into KOZ and bonedo, and sort of the missing piece. he feels so much and he allows himself to feel all of it. in turn, as the leader, it’s something he encourages in the members. it’s leading by example. jaehyun builds a safe space for them to express, by being open himself.
but beyond that, jaehyun being unapologetically himself becomes an unstoppable sort of barrier between the group and outside the group. while not as apparent now, I do think it’ll grow into him being a strong adovcate for each of the members and the group as a whole. the group matters to him. his members matter to him. jaehyun’s never going to act as if they don’t, so long as they do. as such, he’ll put them first. he’ll encourage them and their best interest. he provides space and works to create and maintain that space for them to express themselves and be themselves. it’s what makes jaehyun the best leader for bonedo now, and it’s what will allow him to continue to do so.

I'm guarding my heart against expecting adoribull crumbs in veilguard because I really don't believe it's going to happen. I think that might be one of the sweet slender branches on the possibility tree that they'll gently and quietly prune away from relevancy, especially since it doesn't involve a player character. dorian will almost certainly be back (hey hiii bestie how have you been? stressed out of your mind I imagine), but I can't imagine they'll let you get too granular with setting up your world state, especially since after ten years they will be expecting to have a lot of players who are new to the series. like AT MOST I can imagine a little background detail implying an amicable bittersweet breakup rather than dragging out the long distance and danger of it all as tevinter politics heat up, if you're allowed to set them both as being still alive.
all that being said I still want it so fucking badly tho fhdskjfhas

But buck didn’t need to prioritize Eddie last episode it’s not like Eddie was in a life or death situation he should have went on his date with Tommy and then asked Eddie who Kim was the next day
i disagree. seeing a woman looking just like your friend's dead wife who implies they're dating your friend is something you should immediately deal with. it's not life or death but it is Something.
i also wouldn't really call that prioritizing. he stopped by to have a quick conversation, a check-in. if they'd had a bad call that day that eddie was taking hard, he may have done the same thing. and then gone on to meet tommy, like he did in the ep. nothing implied he cancelled, or really even was late, we don't know what their plans were. netflix and chill doesn't have a reservation.
now if the conversation went bad and it was obvious eddie was in a really bad way, (which the conversation didn't imply and really neither did eddie's actions afterwards. he knew what he was doing was messed up, readily admitted it to buck, and told her the truth the next day. he is responsible for chris walking in on all that, because he let kim in when she came back and went along with her "therapy", but he didn't know she would do that. up until she showed up with the wardrobe change, he had taken the healthy steps to fix what he had fucked up in the first place) then buck would have needed to make the choice to prioritize him, which would have been the right call.
but just checking in with eddie wasn't prioritizing. it was essentially a responsibility as someone with various loved ones. check in on your friend, drop off that book for your sister, pick up that item for team lunch, go to dinner with your boyfriend. all just things you do throughout your day, and sometimes need to make adjustments for.

is Rock/Romeo different in the japanese ds cute?
(as someone who isn’t fluent) yea in jp romeo sounds like less of a bastard and more like idk. idiot airhead spacey naive kid? the jp version also takes him much more seriously as a love interest option which stresses me out a bit but it’s also cute
for the english version of DS and cute natsume sometimes added some arrogant douchey scum bastard zaniness to romeo’s lines to idk i guess try and match rock? (who has different speech habits / “role speech” in JP compared to romeo) and of course natsume also just handled a lot of DS lines Weirdly or Not at all
for example
the wedding vow
JP:「もう一生離さないよ♡ 」| “For the rest of my life, I’ll never let go!♡” (cute)
Natume EN: “I’ll never leave you. Heh heh.” (troubling)
the divorce fakeout event you get if you neglect your husband (the entire thing)
JP: romeo thinks you hate him and he’s sad because you don’t communicate, and says goodbye.. he comes back and apologizes and admits he never wanted to leave, he just wants to stay together and you head to sleep (all’s well that ends well)
EN: romeock thinks you hate him and he says “is it my looks? my gorgeous looks can’t be fading already, can they?!” when he comes back he’s like “i know you can’t be tired of my looks already. it must just be a phase. well time for some beauty sleep” (who the fuck said you were allowed back in)
other than stuff like that, in general i’m finding a lot of events make slightly to very more sense in japanese because often it feels like each line of dialogue was either translated too literally into english or they didn’t have context, so that also applies to romeo’s heart and random events especially later events / events after marriage / rival marriage
the entire yellow heart event didn’t make proper sense to me in english compared to japanese but one small silly example from it where (probably) no context translation made the scene 10x funnier is when he has his dramatic confession
in JP he realizes he may have hurt you by joking around and making up stories to hide his feelings and apologizes profusely. protag shakes her head no with a heart over it to be like “it’s okay <3”
in EN he asks “Can you forgive me…?” and protag does the same gesture. like “NO <3”
also neither here nor there but his relationship with Louis feels a lot more familial in japanese. in english i wanted to kick him out the window during the child discipline event. in JP it’s more silly… (i still want to kick him out the window but more affectionately…) she overall sounds a lot more idk timid in EN but in JP she’s rougher and teases and scolds him a bunch (good👍). she and her two NEET cats children are a very cute family imo
overall i find natume’s odd additions to the game incredibly funny and enhance the experience in their own way (by making it worse) and i enjoy the more bastardly creature but i also think the more serious and soft romeo is sweet. he still has a lot of “what is wrong with his brain” moments in both en and jp he’s just more douchey in english

i LOVE how much you can see edgeworth's influence on klavier. klavier talks about finding the truth the way he does. klavier helps find the truth and doesnt look to win like he does. klavier doesnt treat defense attorneys like the enemy like he does. edgeworth took the long way, learning for himself what being a good prosecutor means and how the court should work then ensured the next generation didnt have to.

Love that my hairdresser experience as someone with curly hair invariably includes:
"Oh wow your hair is so thick! It's beautiful!" (Thins it out the first chance they get)
"Your curls look so nice!" (Straightens my hair in the blow dry)
Today the hairdresser refreshed my faux hawk, blow dried my hair with while pulling on it with their fingers and went "oh it's not so curly when it's short!"
Ma'am you just don't know how to deal with this hair type

I like that you always draw characters with linebacker shoulders
Thank you! It’s cause I was self-conscious about my man shoulders until I realized in a life drawing class that a lot of the proportions we see in art are a lie (it’s the stylization).
It’s now my sworn duty to celebrate the linebackers of the world and also pay tribute to high school me and all the upper arm/shoulder conditioning I had to do for various sports :,)

#persona 4 golden#p4g#hanamura yosuke#yosuke hanamura#i think a lot about the depth of yosuke's loneliness - away from th distractions of the city and losing even the superficial r/s that he ha#of course he would hate inaba#the moment he arrived in the town he was treated as an enemy for reasons he couldn't control#junes did destroy local businesses and the townspeople's fear of big chain capitalism is justified#BUT their treatment of him was not. i wanna say that the people in inaba were awful but actually theyre just... people.#they couldnt fight Junes or engender systemic change so they take it out on him instead and ostracize him with names and tacks in his shoes#and to add to that all of his already existing self doubt and identity issues#and the problems of growing up as a teenage boy in the early 2010s figuring out his place in society#i think yosuke is very similar to kanji in that both of them have that same struggle of their self being misaligned with social expectation#so they play up this exaggerated caricature or image based on who they think they are supposed to be#in kanji's case it's an image that lets him control his rejection - he looks like a scary gang member so ofc no one wants to be near him#in yosuke's case he goes in the opposite direction of desperately wanting to fit the mould or image of a typical teenage boy#except there isnt such a thing as an “average” teenage boy so hes just such a mess sometimes#but masking so that hes accepted by others as just a teenage boy and not the prince of junes or anything? yeah.#haha my heart#he's good with his queue

frederick chilton on nbc hannibal is what happens when writers take the plot armor that comes from being a character from the original story that therefore can't die in the prequel and stretch that as far as humanly possible

the reason i brought any of this up is because I really appreciate this space and enjoy it a lot, and I'd like to help keep it safe and comfortable for everyone !! This is not me trying to stir up negativity of any kind - I'm actually hoping to do the opposite of that. I tend to keep to myself for the most part but I don't want to let things fester, y'know?
I'm hoping that by bringing it up in an open (and hopefully non-shaming) way, I can help to cultivate a space where we feel safe and don't feel like we have to watch our backs all the time. I don't want people feeling like one wrong move will get them ex-communicated or something (but maybe that's just a personal paranoia of mine that nobody else shares ^^;;), and I don't want anyone feeling left in the dark and wondering if they're doing something wrong or that people don't like.
This feels like a very silly post to make because at the end of the day I really am sort of a nobody in the community (not to mention, I have zero authority in any sort of way dsfjkl) and I'm far too socially anxious to step outside of the bubble I have currently, but ... I'd like to do what I can to make this a good bubble I guess fsdkl
