The one problem with bingeing like three whole seasons of the Magnus Archives in less than a week is that now I am in a weird parasocial relationship with the voices of a bunch of people I do not know and likely never will meet. The existential sadness this causes me is very Not Good for me while dealing with a full year of cycling depressive episodes
Maybe I should take a break.... Probably won't tho... It's a delicious anguish.

the one negative thing i have to say is that please don't be screaming every single line and pushing into the barricade mid-show and fake hyperventilating through the quiet parts so that my short recording of the piano intro to atlantic is dominated by some heavy breathing from behind (to that person, it's not just you in the audience)

i saw a post about another media i wasnt familiar with (i think it was in stars and time?) talking about the group's dynamic as like. it's found family but in a way that specifically rejects the traditional family roles- ie there doesn't have to be a "mom" and a "child" or any other named role for individual people, just their closeness is enough on its own to make them family. and i think that's how i feel about the rockafire a bit! like tbf i do think mitzi has a sibling-like relationship w beach bear and dook but that's kinda the only named relationship i feel even a bit strongly about lol. i feel like i can't think of any rae character without also thinking of how i like their dynamic with at least one other character, the way each character interacts with the others strengthens their own personality and i think thats super cool. i love those guys
#someone shared a link with me a while back that had like. rae showtape scripts#i wouldnt remember how to get back to it now but#those skits were a Lot more scripted than i originally thought#i thought they were basically going off outlines but most jokes at least of the ones i saw were read p verbatim off the script#and ironically it sorta strengthened how impressed i was w the skits#improv-ing jokes like the ones the rae do is relatively easy if youve got even a little sense for comedy#but writing a joke that sounds like improv in advance is kinda insane lmao#and im impressed w the voice actors too for delivering them in such a natural way too#theres a lot of deliveries that sound like theyre thinking of the words as they say them lol yknow? and i love that#i lost the plot what was i talking abt#oh yeah the fact that all the skits were written and performed so well strengthens the bonds of the characters#and. and uhhh animatronics good idk im high rn#i love those guys#asks#rae

not to harp back to a few days ago but the whole "taking phone calls in public/loud music in public/playing music and videos outloud in public is rude etc. (the list could go on)" argument is not only absurd,
(not all public spaces are going to be silent its is unrealistic, outside cannot cater to every single person as everybody has different needs, but this is not me dismissing there are concerns for people who may have sensory 'issues' or may be bothered by loud sounds)
but has ties to racism and classism, especially considering that many nonblack and white people call the police about "noise complaints" on black and brown people and poor people because the music being played at a party is 'too loud' or music from a car is being played 'too loud', which leads to them getting arrested or killed.
It also has links to gentrification, it is known that people who do complain about a community being too loud are clearly not familiar with the cultures in that area and that loud noise being a nuisance is a clear sign you are coming into a culture that isn't yours
anyway i think some of you need to read the article linked because the influx of these types of arguments is concerning.
