Declutter Tumblr
The new layout it a whole mess. Thankfully Xkit can already help with a bunch of this! I'm sure it'll give more options soon.
Vanilla Tumblr:
(I have marked in red what can be removed. The tabs can be set not to stick, so you will really only see them at the top of your dash. Empty box on the left for hidden notifications and shop sparkle, i just didn't have any. I'm EU so no Live for me).
Xkit Rewritten Tumblr:
The settings I use:
#tumblr#xkit rewritten#tumblr dash#tumblr dashboard#undescribed#tactaxtalks#// well this escalated quickly! remember i'm just some guy#but if you want help with xkit or general tumblr feel free to send an ask/anon/dm

Since I have a few new mutuals/followers, here's a couple important things of note!
1) Make sure you're following at least one of my side blogs! You're not obligated to follow all of them, just the ones you're interested in (I absolutely understand the desire for dash cleanliness, which is part of the reason I've organized my muses into side blogs--less tags for you to filter). This tells me you've read my content and actively would like to interact, and I'm much more likely to send you asks if something catches my eye. You're also free to send asks/prompts to blogs we share a verse in! If it's a verse AU for your muse, just specify that in the ask so I know to go looking for your info, as I don't always check that for muses that aren't already sharing a verse with me, and I do sometimes mute tags for verses I have no interest in.
2) I use xKit Rewritten for trimming posts, so if you're using the OLD XKIT (known as "new xKit", which is the actual name of the addon), I won't be able to trim posts in our interactions. Sorry not sorry, but I refuse to use a buggy add-on. xKit Rewritten is actually a new framework for the new Tumblr coding, and is notably less buggy & more consistently updated. Feel free to ask me for help with it! I did a tl;dr guide that's helped more than a few people switch over & I'm absolutely cool helping people get it figured out. <3 (pro tip, it doesn't post your drafts by accident if you cut then work on the reply & try to save the draft, so if you're annoyed by that glitch...)
3) I don't use much formatting, nor do I expect any formatting, but I do ask that extra spacing between every word (even if it's just 2 spaces) not be done in replies to me. It strains my eyes to read. (I don't mind if there's indents/dialogue separated from prose by a few extra spaces, just as long as it's not between every single word). Icons/banners/etc is all up to you, I generally don't use them myself.
4) I post a lot of musings (usually incorrect quotes, because that's how I roll), but I don't usually directly @ mention in them! Once we've been interacting a bit I'll usually have a unique tag for your muse(s), so you can follow that tag if you'd like to read any of my musings and shenaniganery. I usually run this content off my queue, as I don't run replies off a queue.
Any questions--feel free to ask! If you're a shy bean, I do have anonymous asks turned on if you don't want to ask directly/are afraid to ask. I just ask that you be polite if you're using anon to send me things, because I'd rather not turn it off for the shy people.

Do you have any advice on how to start an rp blog? I feel like there's so much to do and so many specific things, it looks intimidating, but I really want to get into it (and your blog seems like a safe space to ask as a baby in the matter)
Hi! Thanks you for asking and for trusting. I do admit that rping on tumblr can look daunting and there is a series of things that are considered “etiquette” that might not be obvious for newcomers. And the only way to learn is to ask, right? As I’m not sure if you would like something more specific or a step-by-step, I’m going to go through the whole process.
note: this is a repost from an ask in a more reblog-friendly format
1. Setting up the blog
You might want to make a new e-mail account for each blog you want. I recommend making a gmail/google account, so you may be able to use other services and associate them with your blog. I’ll go into more details in a minute.
Some people would rather have a personal blog and then making the RP blog as a side-blog. Or a “hub” blog and many side-blogs so they have everything centralized. The downside is that you can’t follow people with side-blogs, only the main – and some rpers are a little suspicious of personal blogs, so if you intend to go this route it might be a good idea to state somewhere in your blog that you have a RP blog.
Tip : It isn’t said too often, but I recommend saving your blog’s e-mail and password somewhere, maybe a flashdrive or even google drive. This way, if something happens you will be able to retrieve your account.
When picking the URL, for a very long time tumblr had problems tagging URLs with a hyphen ( - ). I’m not sure if it has been fixed or if there are still some issues, so I recommend only using letters and maybe numbers. Other than that, pick anything that sounds nice to you!
Themes are nice, but not entirely necessary. Not everybody has photoshop skills and all that. Some people do have commissioned themes, but if you want to try your hand at it my first stop is usually @theme-hunter or @sheathemes . They reblog many themes from many creators, so there are always many options that might suit your needs. Some creators offer very newcomer-friendly themes that you can configure a lot of things without much hassle but some might require basic HTML knowledge – a few creators have guides on how to properly set up their themes and are willing to and answer questions, so don’t be afraid to contact them! You can also send me an ask, I’m not a specialist but I can certainly help walk you through the basics.
Tip: @glenthemes have very good themes and a basic installation guide here.
When fiddling with the options, try to pick colors that have nice contrast and are easy to read. If you are bad at picking colors or have problems in finding the code for them, I recommend trying this link. There is also this one that auto-generate palettes.
Tip : If you mess with your theme, remember there is the Theme Recovery.
Tip: If you use Chrome or Firefox you can set up different profiles and associate each with a different blog, so you don’t need to log out from any of your accounts.
There are two pages that I recommend having: one is an about your muse. If they are an OC, it is always a good idea to have at least some information out there to make things easier. If they are from a canon source, not everybody is familiar with the material so it might be a good idea to state. For example, if you are going to roleplay as Altria/Arturia, it is a good idea to have a “RP blog for Saber (Altria Pendragon) from FGO/FSN “ somewhere visible. The other page that is a good idea having is a rules/guidelines page. This one can be a little intimidating, but it is usually a way to communicate important things. For example: are you comfortable writing violence? Do you have any personal triggers? There is something you absolutely won’t write? There are things you may figure out along the way and it is absolutely ok to fine-tune this session every now and then. Some people also credit source for their icons and graphics in general in their rule/guideline page.
If you are using the tumblr default themes, when you create a new page you can turn on the option to show a link to the page. If you are using a custom theme, most of the time you will have to link it manually.
Oh, and if you are planning to do a multimuse, it might be a good idea to list which muses you have. The same goes for a hub blog; list the muses and link to the pages.
Icons aren’t necessary but are considered commonplace. You can find some icons I’ve done here but there are plenty of other sources. If you want to do your own icons, keep in mind to don’t make them too big, as a courtesy to your mutuals.
Tip: Anything larger than 300 pixels will be stretched to fit the post. As of today ( 4/29/2021 ) the posts are currently 540 pixels wide. This can be useful as making banners for your blog.
Tumblr allow users to “pin” posts. This mean that they will always visible if you access your blog, even on dash/mobile. You can use this to set up a post with basic links for mobile users or something else. For example, if you are out on vacations and won’t be able to do replies, you can pin a hiatus notice and then remove the pin once you are back.
2. Introducing yourself
Time to officially join the fun! (insert a “Hi, Zuko here” joke) Don’t worry if you don’t have a fancy promo graphic or anything, most people make their initial introduction with a simple post.
(as you can see, I’m not very good at saying ‘hi’)
Try to introduce yourself in a few lines, but make sure to state which muse you RP as. Some people also like adding their pen name/alias and establishing a brand. Follow as many people as you want that reblogged or liked your post, and tumblr is going to start recommending other blogs that are related to the tags you use normally or have any relation to the people you follow. You can put as many tags as you want, but tumblr will disregard more than 6 tags in their system. Try tags like “<fandom> rp” and “<fandom> roleplay” along with the media, such as “movie” “video game”, “anime” and so on.
It might also be a good idea to follow a few RP memes blogs. They often have options to break the ice, like one-liners that your mutual can send you.
Tip: Don’t forget to turn on the asks and the anon
3. Practical advice
Alright, now that you have a few mutuals, it is time to get to some general tips:
Tumblr can be a little “iffy”, and a great quality of life extension for RPers and navigation in general is installing the New Xkit extension. They offer a number of options to enhance your tumblr experience, but the ones I consider essential are the “editable reblogs”, “quick tags” and “blacklist”. Get it for Chrome or Firefox.
As a rule of thumb I recommend writing your RPs using Google Docs before posting or replying. By doing this you can do some spell check and if your browser crashes for any reason you can easily recover your work. You can also use Word, Open Office, or any text editor you feel like.
Because I’m a bit of a perfectionist, I also have Grammarly ( Chrome / Firefox ) installed for an extra layer of spell/grammar check. There is a subscription option, but the free one works perfectly fine.
To make things easier to locate, always tag the URL of your RP partner when doing a reply. There are other useful things you can tag, such as open starters, memes, and such.
Risking being obvious here, but when you are not interacting as your character it might be a good idea to tag as “ooc” or “out of character”.
Some people like making google docs with basic info and other useful stuff for easier access on mobile. It is a recent trend, it might be easier to edit as opposed to going through tumblr page editor and dealing with the HTML. You can find some templates here and here.
Tumblr’s activity can be unreliable, so don’t be afraid of contacting your partner to see if they have gotten your reply after a few weeks. However, some people also enjoy using the RP Thread Tracker in order to be on top of things. It might be a good idea to check it out.
Because of Tumblr shadowbanning and shenanigans, it isn’t unusual for people to have NSFW sideblogs (sometimes referred as ‘sin blogs’). If you want to write smut, it might be a good idea to consider making one.
Some people don’t like replying to asks, as Tumblr won’t let you remove the initial ask. It has become common to see people making new posts to reply to asks. This is a simple example:
As you can see, I used the mention to have the RP partner notified then I copied and pasted their question on my post and used the quote to indicate it. You can also have fancy graphics, like a line to separate the contents, just do whatever you feel like with the formatting or keep it simple.
To make sure your partner got the answer, I recommend copying the link to the post and pasting on the ask and then replying it privately. An example sent to my rp blog:
4. Basic Etiquette
Ok, this is a little subjective most of the time but here are a few things that are considered universal courtesy.
Never reblog someone else’s headcanons. If you enjoy it, maybe it should politely contact the author and ask if it is ok to write something based on their original idea but you should never downright copy or lift something from another creator. It is considered rude, or even theft in some cases.
Don’t reblog threads you are not involved with. It is ok to leave a like, but never reblog. This is because Tumblr can mess up the notifications and disrupt the flow of the RP.
Don’t copy other people’s graphics. It is very rude and sometimes they commission (aka: paid) for it.
Trim your posts. What does that mean? Every time you reblog with a reply, the post tends to get longer and longer, and it can cluster your and your mutuals’ dashes. This is why the New X-Kit’s “editable reblogs” is an almost must-have tool. If for some reason you can’t install X-Kit (if you are on mobile for example), then remove the previous post or ask your partner to trim for you.
Never take control of your RP partner’s muse. This is called “godmodding” and it is heavily frowned upon. It is ok to control your muse and the possible NPCs that you inserted, but never seize someone else’s character. Likewise, it can also be very upsetting if you use what people call “meta-gaming”, applying knowledge that your muse shouldn’t know about the other. For example, let’s say your RP partner’s muse is a vampire, but they have never disclosed that information to your muse, who also doesn’t have an excuse to know that (for example, being a vampire hunter) so it can be quite jarring sometimes. When in doubt, contact your partner.
This should go without saying, but RPing sexual themes with users under the age of 18 are illegal. It doesn’t matter if the age of consent in your location is lower, once you join Tumblr you are abiding by their user guidelines and the law of the state they are located in. If you are an adult, don’t engage minors with these topics, maybe a fade to black would be a better option. If you are a minor, don’t insist or you might cause a lot of legal problems for others.
Try to tag anything triggering. Violence, gore, NSFW. Both Tumblr and the New Xkit have options to block keywords.
When picking PSDs or graphics for your blog, you should avoid templates that change the color of the skin of POCs muses and try to pick the right race/ethnicity of the muse you are going to RP as. I won’t go through a lot of details, as it is a rather lengthy subject in an already lengthy conversation but keep this in the back of your mind.
Some RPers don’t like when you reblog memes from them without sending anything. Try to always reblog from a source or to interact with the person you are reblogging from, it can be rather disheartening to be seen as a meme source rather than a RP blog. This isn’t a rule and some people don’t mind, but it is always a good idea to try to do this.
This might be more of a pet peeve of mine than proper etiquette, but it is ok to use small font. What is not ok is use small font + underscript. Some people have disabilities that might make it harder for them to read it, so it might be a good idea to refrain from using it. Maybe if you feel like doing something fancier every now and then, but I wouldn’t recommend making this a habit.
Mun and Muse are different entities. Remember that it isn’t because a muse does something (especially a villain one) that the mun condones something. Never assume anything about the mun, when in doubt talk to them.
Be mindful of your partners and treat them the way you would like to be treated.
As a rule of thumb, always talk to your RP partner. It is only fun as long both of you are enjoying it.
5. Closing Words
This got longer than I expected.
Despite all of that, don’t be too worried about not being very good at first. I assure you that you will get better with time, so don’t be afraid of experimenting as long you feel comfortable. And don’t be afraid of saying “no” if something bothers you.
My inbox is always open to questions and ideas, so feel free to contact me anytime!
I would also ask my followers: there is advice I missed/overlooked? Anything you would like someone have told you when you first started? Add your thoughts so I can update this.
Happy RPing!

Hi. This could be a long shot but I used to rp on jcink and I left it almost a year ago to take a break as I found the communities very toxic. I miss my characters and I forgot you there were rp communities on tumblr! I have never rp'd on tumblr before and I'm not sure how it works, as in where is the actual place where written character posts are or where members chat? I'm a newbie to tumblr rp and would love to join. I would appreciate some advice on how to start! xx
Hey there! Thank for for taking the time to reach out to us, we’re more than happy to try our best and give you to tumblr RP rundown! Sorry to hear you had a poor experience elsewhere - rest assured, if you want to be part of Crooked, we don’t bite! (We even have Game Nights !)
A summary of what I’ll try cover:
Your blog is where you post as your muse/character per se, you can reblog musings and anything you like about your character(s) on here for the group to see.
Your replies/roleplay interactions are also on here where you can post responses to open starters and engage in all that’s happening! (If you don’t use discord - we use it as our OOC platform, your OOC communications will go on your blog(s) too!)
So, to begin, the way the process of on the dash RP-ing works is generally: You create a tumblr account separate to your personal/main. You can use a little trick in the sign-up process to avoid creating new emails and losing track. For example:
[email protected] can be used for your personal tumblr escapades! And then, for an RP one, you can use the same email, but format it like this: [email protected]. (It still goes to your same inbox, but it allows you to have multiple accounts - if you’re using them for different groups.)
I already feel like I might have lost you a little here - so, let me continue off this topic... we can always help you set-up later!
Once you have a tumblr account, you can then decide if you want to keep it organised in the sense of individual character blogs or if you want to compile multiple characters onto one blog; then use the tumblr tagging system to make it clear which you’re using if you have gathered a few muses! We have a mixture in the group who use Mumu blogs (multi-muse) and those who use individuals - it’s purely personal preference! Despite using a Mumu myself here in Crooked, I generally prefer individuals because it makes it a little easier to keep up with the replies I may owe!
Alrighty, so there’s that ramble added... It’s honestly much simpler to navigate than I may be making it out to be - my apologies! Essentially, you reblog interactions at your pace and create new ones for those to engage in and your threads are you ongoing interactions. If you would like some examples, I’ll list the admin blogs below so if you wanted to have a quick scroll for examples of how we kind of interact - there’s not really a right or wrong way!
@crxxkedevil , @twistedxpromises & @eternallyxcrooked
These listed above are all mumu blogs - so we have multiple characters we have compiled into a single blog, whereas we have members that have a main blog and then add side blogs for each picked up OC character. But you should be able to see the method of roleplay in each of these. There is also no rule on length or tense you write in ... you’ll see some variation, I’m sure. As long as it’s understandable and we can gauge interactions, you’re on for a win! Hurrah!
I feel like that’s the getting started basics kind of covered? Everyone has their own tumblr tagging system on their posts to be able to retrieve former interactions and such.
A beneficial program (I’d recommended getting.) is a free add-on for google chrome browsers called XKit as it offers the ability to edit posts once they’ve been posted and you can reblog just the newest interaction instead of swarming the dash with previous/repeat engagements. Honestly, if you haven’t realised I’m Queen of the Rambles - you... do now... but truly, we’re all friendly and willing to help you every step of the way! You’ll pick it up in no time, I’m sure! A lot of information and step-by-steps are covered in sections of the Main blog that might give you some insights beyond my explanations!
As for discord, this is the OOC platform we use for out of character interactions and general day-to-day conversations. (Also, game nights... and lots of other chaos.) It’s also free and is available on both mobile & desktop. There’s no obligation to be part of the server there - but you’re more than welcome to get to know your fellow members and RP-ers! Helps with plotting threads and interactions too.
As a last addition: we’ve broken down the process a little on the Navigation page (Mobile Navigation, here.) so you’re able to look at things pre-application and then post-application to try encourage an ease of access for all. Hopefully by looking at some blog examples of ours and having a meander through the CrookedSoulsRPG main blog that you should find some helpful resources. We also have a resources blog, here if you want to look at gifs and icons... especially if you’re potentially not used to using gifs/icons/gif icons in your interactions, we try to where we can and there’s many faces for inspiration if you haven’t acquired an arsenal of faces yet!
Thank you again for sending this in! I hope that this somewhat helped you in your starting up process? If you need clarification on more, you’re more than welcome to hit us with all the messages you like, or if you want to pop in an application if you think you’e got the ropes and an idea of what muses/characters you wanna throw into the Crooked world. A quick read down our guidelines to check they’re all good for you and you’re away!
We’re more than happy to continue helping you through the process in any way we can - we’re all very welcoming! Please, don’t be shy! Believe me, we’re all been there before, we all start somewhere!

How to Generate RP Activity and Approach RP Partners
Whether you’re a brand new blog, you’re coming back from hiatus, or just experiencing a lull in interactions / activity, I thought I would share how I generate blog activity.
Your dashboard. So what generates the most interactions is always what’s happening on your dash. If your dashboard is slow or always populated by the same blogs, or doesn’t inspire activity, then this is where you need to start.
How many blogs are you following? You can check your following list from the dashboard sidebar menu. If you use the xkit extension, you are also able to view how many of these blogs are inactive (or haven’t posted in a month or more). Everyone’s preference here is different, but for me, I like to be following around 100 blogs at any given time.
Granted, 10% of these may be old friends who are taking a break from their blogs and are not active, and another 15-20% are non-roleplay blogs that post content related to my muse (their faceclaim, their aesthetic, info related to their profession / hobbies, etc.).
For me personally, not all of the roleplay blogs I follow are characters I would want my muse to interact with. Sometimes I follow a blog simply because I appreciate their character, their writing, or their friendship. Even though I may not be interacting in character with these blogs now, I may do so in the future, especially if one of us changes muses, and even if we never interact in character, I find it beneficial to interact out of character. You never know how you might meet a new friend or what might inspire new ideas for aus, meta posts, how you organize your blog, and other aspects of roleplay that are not muse or fandom specific.
Of course, the majority of the blogs that I follow are active roleplay blogs that I am potentially interested in interacting with. I personally like to wait a week or two before interacting with a new follow so that I can get a feel for their content, style, and personality, just to make sure that this person would make a good fit as a partner for me, but if you’re eager to make friends and not worried about it, you can go ahead and jump in by contacting potential partners.
Contacting a roleplayer. Before you contact a roleplayer about potentially writing together, it is VERY IMPORTANT that you take a quick minute to review their rules, as there may be very pertinent information that you need to be aware of, including if this person is PRIVATE. If a roleplayer has the word private anywhere on their blog or in their rules, it means you need to wait for them to follow you back before you interact with them. I know this can be difficult when they look like a super cool person and they write a character you really want to interact with, but the most important thing to consider in roleplay is the person behind the screen. A roleplayer who is private might have chosen this policy for a variety of reasons, but what matters is that we respect their boundaries. If a private roleplayer follows you back, or if a roleplayer is not private, then go ahead and reach out!
When contacting a potential new roleplay partner, I like my message to follow a basic formula: first, I introduce myself. Hi there, I’m Chaya. I personally consider an introduction to be a prerequisite for initiating roleplay. To me, it acknowledges the other person as a human and not just a writer. If you like, you can even let this person know what drew you to their blog. I really love your interpretation of xyz - or even just, I love your blog.
The second part of my approach is asking if this person might be interested in writing together. However, for me personally, I don’t like to suggest writing together without at least throwing out one or two plot ideas off the top of my head. In my mind, it feels like showing up to a fancy party without bringing wine or cupcakes. I always like to bring some ideas to the table outright to let this person know I appreciate their consideration and I don’t expect them to do all of the heavy lifting. It also serves as a really excellent conversation starter! Sometimes a conversation can lull once you get past the whole great sure let’s do a thread sometime part. I also like to let the person I’m messaging know that I’m not particularly committed to any of these ideas if they’re not feeling them, and that I’m very much open to their own ideas if they have any. That way I don’t feel like I’m steamrolling anyone and hopefully this person feels comfortable engaging in some brainstorming.
I know that contacting new roleplayers can very very difficult for some writers. There is definitely a level of vulnerability in putting yourself out there, but what you have to remember is this: roleplaying is ultimately a social hobby. By its very nature, it necessitates human interaction, and if you aren’t willing to reach out, this may be why you are experiencing a lull in activity. If we are all too afraid to reach out to one another, then we will never get to have any of those great interactions that make roleplay so much fun. I know the fear of rejection can make this hard, but just remember that the worst another roleplayer can say is no thank you, and that this decision is almost certainly not based on you as a person but maybe factors like their style of writing, or your fandom, or what kind of threads they like to write. It might even be because they’re overwhelmed with the threads they already have, or because they’re looking for something very specific. None of these things have anything to do with you, so even if a roleplayer says thanks but no thanks, it’s really not so terrible. You might be the ripest, juiciest peach on the tree, but there still might be someone who just doesn’t like the taste of peaches, and that’s okay.
Another thing to consider when you’re contacting new partners is that it might not be the best idea to message every new blog you follow, or at least, not message them all at once. I often follow new blogs in batches and then give it a week or two to see who I really vibe with before messaging, and even then, I only message up to three potential partners at a time. Obviously, you can run your blog however you like, but I find it very overwhelming to generate too many potential plot ideas (quality ones, at least) and it can get confusing to keep up with who to respond to. Just something you may want to keep in mind.
Inviting interactions. If you’re like me and you don’t like to message a lot of new partners right away, I like to encourage existing partners and new mutuals to engage with me indirectly with my own blog activity.
The most important way to bring followers to your blog and put yourself out there is to make sure your blog has a promo, and that this promo is posted in the correct tags. Tumblr will only post your content if your blog has been live for 72hrs, so if you just made your account, this will have to wait at least three days. Secondly, tumblr will ONLY post your post in the FIRST FIVE tags that you use, so use them wisely. After the first five tags, any tag you use is for your own blog organization, so I always start with indie-fandom-rp first and then my self promo tag sixth. Remember, if you are finding blogs to follow by searching tags, other roleplayers are doing the same, so it’s important to make sure that you are there for them to find.
Just as a sidenote to this, your promo does not necessarily have to have fancy graphics, if that’s not your forte. As long as your post makes it clear what your blog is for, your promo can still be effective. If you want to have fancy graphics anyway, there are resource communities out there who offer graphics services free of charge, or you can commission an artist.
I’ll post a sentence starter meme or two, maybe a writing prompt for muses, some AUs I’d like to try, or a wishlist of specific plots and ideas that really interest me. Even if I don’t have a specific idea, I might post about an aspect of my muse’s development that I’d really like to explore more and see if anyone has any ideas.
I also like to take this time to write headcanon or meta posts about my muse that might generate a conversation ooc or even inspire someone to approach you with an idea. A lot of the time, seeing your interpretation of your character lets other people get an idea for you and how you write your muse, and if this vibes with them, it could be the start of a beautiful partnership.
Another helpful tool to invite interactions is filling out a plotting cheat sheet. @bandagedbandit has created a really great template for one that you can use here. Posting a plotting cheat sheet can be a great way to let people new to your blog know what’s up more quickly and easily, and may encourage potential partners to feel more confident in contacting you with their own plot ideas. Personally, I like to link to my plotting cheat sheet in my blog’s sidebar or google doc, that way it’s always handy and easily accessible.
Lastly, if you feel comfortable doing so, you can always post one or more open starters. These are starters for a thread that are not directed at any partner in particular and are clearly marked as open for interaction with anyone. You can also tag your open starters with the same tags you use for your promo, or even different tags that you weren’t able to use for your promo due to the five tag limit.
Hopefully you find these suggestions helpful, and are able to use them to boost your blog’s activity and meet some cool people. Feel free to send in an ask with any questions, concerns, or clarifications-- or if you have an idea to add to this list. Thanks for reading!

IT IS TIME
To talk about my survey results!
Remember when I asked y’all to fill out a brief survey about 2 months ago? I was hoping to get enough submissions to equate to about 10% of my follower count. I got 71 people who took the survey (thanks everyone!) which is pretty close to 10% of my follower count when I first posted the survey.
Anyways, on to the results!
This is why I really really appreciate reblogs more than likes. I’ve noticed a direct correlation between reblogs and new followers.
I’m glad that my current content output seems to place me ahead of other audio blogs. I don’t follow any other audio blogs myself, and I’m not really an audiophile, so I have limited knowledge of how others handle their stuff.
Cranking out lots of short content seems to help me stand out. I try to be consistent in my upload rate, or else I run the risk of slacking off and falling behind. Gotta move forward!
Speaking of moving forward...
And of course the only one of these I’ve done so far is Twitch game streams, the least voted-on choice...
If I had more than 1-3 people tuning in, freestyle voice streams could become a thing. I’ll probably send out another survey regarding the best time to do that if I really commit to it.
I’ve had a few people ask if I do fanfiction readings. The answer is “Yes, but unless it’s My Immortal (I do that for free), you gotta commission me to read it.” As a general rule, if what you’re asking me to do is personalized, or would run longer than about 2 minutes, you should probably commission it instead of request it.
As for RP LPs, well, I’m hoping to get something started related to that soon. Stay tuned...
I thought maybe my page could use improvement, but it seems like I’m really the only one that has issues with it.
I appreciate everyone being as honest as possible about this.
A lot of the answers were something along the lines of “your voice acting” or “Daddy Sans gets me hot”. Which seems par for the course around here. I wouldn’t want it any other way. A lot of people, in PMs and in the survey, seem bashful to admit they get turned on by the voices I do. Don’t be! Dangerous and sexy is specifically the kind of voice I’m delivering.
There was also mention that they appreciated the consistency of posts, and how most of them are short and easy to listen to. That’s definitely what I strive for, so hooray, it’s working as intended!
Some people also noted they like the casual, more goofy approach to the voices and how I run things, and I’m glad that has its appeal. IRL I’m much more like UT Sans than MF Sans. The sexy funny is here to stay.
There was also praise for the various other voices I do. I really do try to think of other characters I can do audios for, but 90% of my stuff is still Sans for a number of reasons. I already have his character figured out quite thoroughly, he doesn’t need any heavy sound editing (unlike, say, Optimus), and he’s definitely why people are here in the first place.
Mercifully, the vast majority of responses were “Nothing, you’re good”. There were a few responses I’d like to respond to directly:
If you know any better themes, please please PLEASE PM me and let me know. I’m fine with paying for one if it improves the experience.
I’d love to add a tag index or something, but Tumblr really sucks at page customization. If anyone can offer formatting assistance, I’d be ever so grateful
I know... I have requests from months ago still sitting in my inbox. There are a number of different reasons I haven’t completed your request yet. Could be that I just haven’t figured out a good way to deliver on it. It might be that they’d take longer than normal and I haven’t taken to time to really work on it. On average I get more requests per day (2-5) than what I post per day (1), so a backlog is inevitable.
Audios are tricky to price. When you commission an art piece you usually get charged by the amount of characters, complexity of the background, and the overall detail of the art. Those are easier to standardize than audios. Or maybe it’s because I’m still inexperienced at pricing. Either way, I’ll try to get a commission page up once I get better at it. In the meantime, feel free to PM me and I’ll try to work with you on it. If you have a budget, let me know.
A lot of people suggested I use way more tags, which I have since started doing. Thankfully Xkit has autotaggers that makes it so much easier to keep track of everything.
Some suggested using Twitter, which I already do.
A lot of you recommended being more involved on Youtube, a la ProZD. It’s definitely something I’m considering. Youtube is much easier to share around than Tumblr pages.
Comic dubs were also suggested. I enjoy dubbing comics, but it’s hard for me to find good ones to dub. I’m not nearly as into Undertale and its associated AUs as all of you are, and I don’t really follow UT artists. If you guys find comics you think I could voice, please submit them to me!
About what I expected.
I was a bit surprised that I had a few male followers. This is why I try to keep my audios as gender-neutral as possible.
And that concludes my analysis of the survey results. I really, truly do appreciate everyone who took the time to give their opinions about my blog. I want to improve y’all’s experience and also improve my own output and follower base. My end goal is to get professional voice acting roles, and my work here helps me move forward towards that goal. When I first started this blog, I had no idea how it would develop. I’m so glad I started, and I only wish I’d started sooner.
Love y’all!

Are you going to translate kagerou daze last chapter? I can’t wait
Well...okay. I’m gonna be honest with the Kagepro Fandom here.
It is not likely Iwill post the RAW manga for the fandom anymore
I will get the manga, yes. But at this point, I don’t evenwant to contribute anything to do fandom to help with access to officialcontents.
It was a very hard decision to make, but with how theKagepro fandom is acting today, I have decided I will not post the Kagepro RAWson Tumblr anymore, and will remove all RAWs I have scanned once I get thesubscription.
TL; DR: At thispoint, the fandom is too toxic, therefore I have no more desire to provide themanga chapters even though there is only one chapter left. Sorry to those whowere not involved in this, but screw it with the antis who now run the fandomand hope you’re happy.
Also still shipKanoKido and don’t see HibiMomo as a “pedophilia ship”
Listen. Back when I joined the fandom, it was a simplertime. Yobanashi Deceive came out, followed by Lost Time Memory and Ayano’sTheory of Happiness shortly after. Those days were simple as we all cried overKano and Ayano, and think of the potential plot LTM revealed as we all waited forMekakucity Actors to come out. We also had awesome contents on translatorstranslating some fancomics (with permission) and a good amount of fanfics andfanarts provided by the fans in this fandom.
Of course, we had some discourse over which was better:KanoKido or KanoAya; and over Shounen Brave’s MV being leaked online. And wehad major discourse over how MCA went, but in the end it’s just agree todisagree and move on to focus to other medias Kagerou Project was released in,or just move away from the series in general.
Right now with the fandom, however, they cannot agree ordisagree over ships. Majority of the fandom anyway. Today the fandom…other fandoms really, just love to throwthe word ‘incest’ and ‘pedophilia’ left and right with ease and spread theirflames in their posts, tags and replies. In everything, really. Even when theyposted official art, they feel the need to scream in their tag to tell usshippers to fuck off and die for shipping what they think is ‘incest’. I also knowthere are those who are disgusted over my display picture of Kano and Kidokissing, which an old friend of mine edited when that episode of MCA aired(won’t reveal name because I don’t want you to attack them). And even feelgross out over the pic in my blog of Kano petting Kido’s kitty ears.
I want to ask, how can the antis who claim Kano and Kido aresiblings, can see petting as sexual? You could have chosen to see it as abrother petting his sister’s kitty ears because it is cute and fun to tease herfor that, but no. Just because Kano and Kido are alone within a picture…or apanel frame really, you guys choose to view it as a romantic relationshipinstead of a sibling relationship, getting angry over it and spreading hate.
Ironic for antis who claim Kano & Kido are siblings, butjust seeing them together doing something makes you think it’s romantic anyway.
What’s more. Age gaps. Ever since another discourse over ships happened when my friend tried to makepeace with shippers (and sadly failed and upset over it when you guys flamedher), I have heard of this thing called “Half your age + Seven” to dictate whoto date with, and what is appropriately shippable, like HibiMomo. Honestly thispost have the best response over it, but I will quote the replyhere.
so a 16 year old can’tdate a 14 year old? so an 18 year old can’t date a 16 year old? so a 40 yearold can’t date a 27 year old? a math expression should not be the regulation ondating ages…
and if it’s shippingwho tf cares? not hurting anybody because they all fictional…
To be honest, this reminds me of Dead Poet Society. Ifanyone had seen the film, maybe you recall a scene where poetry is calculatedby math as well. This is that level of stupidity. The fandom today is doingsomething what could be considered excrement on what is acceptable over whatis fiction and bringing that over to reality. The reality where your parents, grandparents, classmates or anyone you know also have age gaps, and that reallyyou are more upset over fictional characters dating instead of real-life issuesof incest and pedophilia.
Other than that little discourse fiasco, there are otherthings, but I will not go into detail. Instead just says this tiny fandom justfeels too entitled with their belief and doing uncalled for things likebackstabbing and limiting others to enjoy supporting the fandom in their ownway. Also to let the antis go free by just sit by and watch. I understand thosewho are just tired and don’t want to deal with them. But for those who actuallyenable the antis to do what they want because you guys just don’t care, youguys are part of the guilty party as well by letting them grow and think it’sa-okay to be like this.
With that being said, I do not feel the need to post thefinal chapter anymore. You guys will have to figure it out yourselves or justwait and hear bits and pieces of it maybe. But I don’t even want to post what Iknow. Instead I will just share those RAWs with who I am friends with and whomI trust, plus those who are more mature because instead of flaming, they justlet others enjoy what they ship and do their own things.
The chapters being taken down will also remove myself as aRAW provider to the fandom, which I am thankful because I do not need to dothis anymore, as I, again, I hate scanning and always believe I would get intotrouble.
I know there are those, like my friends and mutuals I havehere on Tumblr, who wanted to read the manga since they do not have access tothem where they live. I am sorry for doing this to them too, but it just isn’tworth it in the end.
Instead, I will spend my remaining days in the fandom asjust someone who hears bits and pieces of Kagepro fandom here and there while Iam enjoying myself more in another fandom or doing other things I enjoy inlife, instead of spreading hate when someone doesn’t agree with you. I willstill look forward to Jin’s next album and when Mekakucity Reload to come out, andalso I might finish my KanoKido Oneshot requests and multichapter stories Iwanted to finish, but that will take a longtime since I’m planning to focus other writing instead.
But what I look forward to the most is when the series’ end,so then it can be put to rest for real and I can officially leave and let thefandom to slowly die. Might hear some things, but it will be a dying fandom atthat point.
The asks are still open for yelling. But it will just provea point. But right now, I believe I have blocked a lot of anti, which goes toshow how toxic this fandom has become. If I do get any asks/anon hate though, feel free to blacklist #discourse and #negativity, dear followers. Tumblralways had that option at least, you guys just need to use it when you’re onthe app without xKit. Also I will just answer those asks once, then block them afterwards (if you’re sending an ask through anon, you’re IP blocked).
If you guys read this whole thing (over 2 pages at thispoint), then I thank you for reading this. And more so if you understand what Iam doing. Sorry to those who are upset over this, but not to the antis who areupset and possibly raging if they read this.
Because with antis running the fandom, I want no part in itby providing them the last manga content.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR GRANDTHORKI DAY
*Note: Due to the changes tumblr has made, this post and others have been updated for 2019. So to participate, please reread the instructions for this year!
About the event
For this event, Grandthorki can mean anything you want it to mean as long as it somehow includes or references a dubcon or noncon sexual relationship between the Grandmaster, Thor, and Loki. However, only posts that follow this linked definition will be tagged as #Grandthorki upon reblog. Posts that stray from the original definition are still welcome and will be tagged as #GrandthorkiB.
Just so everyone is aware, this is likely to be a suuuper small event because not a lot of people are into this dynamic hahha. But I still expect it to be Tons Of Fun!!! If you’re able, please reblog the Invitation Post so that everyone who is potentially interested can participate!
How it will work
Through October 20th and October 21st, you can post a fanwork focusing on grandthorki (including fics, fanart, moodboards, gifs, headcanons, meta, etc.) Just make sure to mention this blog @grandthorkiday somewhere in your post and check to see if the @ is working.
On October 21st (and likely a few days afterward), I will be putting all posts that @ me in a queue for reblog.
Other tags will be used extensively, including:
tags for triggers & content-type
tags to distinguish between levels of explicit erotica: #unsafe (the nsfw tag) versus #safe (the sfw tag)
tags for variations of the ship itself: #Grandthorki versus #GrandthorkiB
These tags will ensure that everyone participating only sees posts that they want to see. Consequently, any form of hate is not allowed. If you're curious about the other rules for this event, please click here for more details! ^_^
Where to start
If you want to participate but you’re coming across this ship for the first time, then you’ve come to the right place!! Already there are several existing fics that were written for last year’s Grandthorki Day:
keep me forever, tell me you want me by veliseraptor
Gave You Every Piece of Me by iamanartichoke
I will kiss you till your breath is found by thelightofthingshopedfor
you can set yourself on fire (but you’re never going to burn)by lookforastar
and many others in the Grandthorki Fic Collection
I deliberately highlighted fics very different from each other so that you can see how much freedom the definition grants you! ^_^
If you’re looking for inspiration & ideas, you can also check out my #grandthorki insp tag on my blog. There are headcanons and prompts to choose from there.
How to be safe
Click here for a list of used tags. In order to blacklist tags so that they don’t show up, use the tumblr filter system (here is a tutorial) or install either tumblr savior or new xkit. If there’s a specific trigger that you want to avoid and it’s not included on the list, then please feel free to send me an ask. I won’t ask questions. I’ll just add it to the list. ^_^ <3
Contact info
I’m moderating this event by myself and my main blog is @loxxxlay. You can contact me on either blog. I’m pretty sure I’ve got it covered, but still, if you’re interested in helping out, then please message me. ^_^ <3

Voltron postivity masterpost !
,
Sooo…. In the middle of the shitstorm happening after s7 aired, I’m thankful that my dash stayed pretty positive and chill so, first of all, I’d like to thank you guys for being so cool !:)
I’ve definitely also seen mutuals saying they wanted to spread positivity, and I’ve seen quite a few messages on my dash from people searching for positive blogs and content. So I thought I’d share a few things if it can help. Feel free to add stuff !
1- Positivity projects and events
Project #ThankYouTeamVoltron
@projectthankyouteamvoltron
“ Project #ThankYouTeamVoltron is a fanmade project to show the creators, cast, and other fans, love and support to combat the negative attention that they have been receiving. Use the tag #ThankYouTeamVoltron and @projectthankyouteamvoltron/@TYTeamVoltron on Tumblr and Twitter to let us see what you have to share! “
more info !
Letters for team Voltron
@lettersforvoltron
“Letters for Voltron is a positive space to write letters to Voltron staff, thanking them for their hard work. Write, draw, be positive! Tag @lettersforvoltron in your post and tag it with #lettersforvoltron, so that we can share it on here, but we will also be making a booklet to be given to the show runners for NYCC. We want lots of art, writing, doodles, etc! “
more info !
Video by the Let’s Voltron Podcast
The Let's Voltron Podcast on twitter is trying to get people together to make a thank you video for the cast and crew.
more info !
Under the “read more” : blog recs, curate your dash, create positive content, take a deep breath !
2- Blog recs
I’ve seen fans looking for blogs with positive content, here are a few.
First of, I always recommend the networks, they’re awesome ?! They’re ship-friendly, drama-free, don’t reblog from antis, there are some for a lot of characters and ships (more or less active depending on the network). Everything is tagged, so you can blacklist any ship you don’t like, or just ships in general if you want to stick to gen content. Honestly, huge thank you to the mods involved in this.
So you have, for example, networks for characters : @shiroganetwork , @pidgenetwork , @hunk-network, @mcclainetwork , @thealluranetwork ...
networks for ships : @sheithnetwork , @thealluranetwork ...
check their “affiliates and networks” pages to find more. There are quite a lot !
Also good blogs for ships : @fuckyeahsheith ;
and @the-sheith-tag , which just reblogs everything in the sheith tag without the hate !
Good blogs for characters, gen / ship free (but still ship and let ship point of view), drama-free : @fuckyeahkogane , @fuckyeahshirogane
Other individual blogs :
gen : @officiallyvoltron , @heraimisgettinbetter
Sheith / multiship : @dent-de-leon , @arahir , @kcgane , @as-many-times-as-it-takes , @flusteredkeith , @saltyshiro , @belovedsheith , @bellenomura , @prettyboyekeith , @paladin-pile , @malenkamyshka …
And I guess you can add me too !
(if anyone doesn’t want to be listed here please don’t hesitate to send me a message and I’ll remove your blog from the list !!!)
This is just a small selection from the blogs I follow. I’m sure there are many, many others.
Also : have a look at your favorite fanartists’ blogs. Many of them just post drawings and don’t get much involved in fandom drama (or at least not on their art blog). Same goes for people creating gifs (ex : @fudayk )
3- Curate your dash
This is a bit of fandom 101, but it never hurts to share it :
- Here is how to block tags on your dash : https://staff.tumblr.com/post/168546216735/tag-filtering-is-here
There is also xkit, which I so far have not personnally used, but which is pretty well-known as a good tool : https://new-xkit-extension.tumblr.com/
Now, most fan-blogs are pretty good with tagging, and usually, when people rant, they have specific tags for it ; most commonly things like discourse, salt, and / or voltron critical. Often, people also have specific tags for that, just look at how their negative posts are tagged or see if they have their tagging system explained somewhere in their about / bio or in a specific page.
In times like these, having those tags blocked can be a life-savior.
- Don’t hesitate to unfollow blogs that are too negative if that kind of content isn’t for you. More generally, you are 100 % allowed to unfollow blogs when their content are not your thing anymore, for whatever reason. It’s ok, I promise !!!
- Beware if you browse the tags
Honestly, I’m not even setting a foot in the tags right now. There was always hate and cross tagging, and I don’t want to know what it looks like right now. I prefer to get my content from blogs I trust. When I do go into the tags, I tend to block antis on sight, and after a while I see less sh*t.
4- Create positive content !
I’ve occasionally seen people intimidated by the idea of creating content themselves. They think you have to be a talented artist or writer to do so.
There are some simple things you can do ! For example, sharing screencaps of your favorite moments, and maybe you can (but don’t have to) add a comment about why you liked them. Participate in the projects I have listed in my first part. Write a post about what you enjoyed in s7. It doesn’t have to be long or really analytic !
Memes can be pretty fun, too. Here are a few :
List your top 10 vld ships
voltron ask meme
voltron ask game (sorry @bellenomura, I haven’t completed mine yet and I can’t find the original, so I’m sharing yours).
Don’t worry if you haven’t been tagged or something. Let’s just say I tag you ! :p
5- Take a deep breath
If fandom drama makes you upset or anxious, remember to take a break. Stay away from tumblr, go take a walk outside, talk to a friend, go to the gym / for a run / to the swimming pool, take care of your pets / garden / potted plants, read a book, play a music instrument, watch something else, look at silly cat videos on youtube, whatever makes you happy. Take care of yourself. Remember that this is literally just a cartoon. There are many other cartoons and series, and then many other things happening in the world. However overwhelming it might sometimes feel when you follow the fandom, this is actually not that important.

Pinned post tiem
I’m Amber or Bee, she/they, nb lesbian
this is my main blog! I rb things I like, find funny, or things I don’t enjoy but probably find important, you can check my about for more info on that
p much everything is tagged, so genuinely feel free to go thru my tags at your leisure, browsing my archive is cool and u can spam reblog I don’t mind I prommy (if u spam reblog my art I’ll blow u a kiss, even)
Here’s my art blog and if u follow it u are my beloved
If you’re new to tumbies, here’s a few posts to getcha started (x) (x) (x) (x) (x)
My own personal tumblr tips below
Getting weird asks? Turn of anonymous asks, people won’t send you near as much weird stuff if they can’t hide (anon hate is a thing here, it happens mainly with blogs with a lot of followers, and that stops mainly when anon is off)
On the other side, hey! Don’t send weird asks! Be nice to people, please!
Neil Gaiman has had an account here forever, he answers his inbox, he’s quite nice to people, be nice to him, don’t be weird.
April fools is really fun here, log in on April 1st! It’s different every year
Don’t buy a blog theme, look up one you like, plenty of sites have them. Some tumblr blogs have them! Googling “tumblr theme” gets you where you wanna go
In your blog customization settings, it lets you add pages and links! On mobile, though, you can’t see these, so linking them in your bio as well helps more people see the links
The post limit is 200 or 250 a day, usually I never reach it but the site doesn’t really tell you, just doesn’t let you post after that
Queue is your friend!! You can schedule posts, schedule what time you want your posts to happen (i.e. posting 3 times a day at prime time or 50 posts a day all day, etc) and it lets you batch upload art without spamming or it getting lost in a sea of your own posts, xkit has an extension that lets you auto tag your queued posts, some people have cutesy pun ones, mine is just the letter #q
Readmore is good! The text limit is Not Twitter, you can post fics here if you want without adding screenshots! You can add a setting wheres you can have long posts shortened (other people have to have this enabled for it to shorten your post), but it’s common courtesy to put fics in readmores after, like, a paragraph or so, or a description
Please use tags! And filtering! Under Settings > general > content you see, you can block key words and tags. Tags have to be Exact! Keywords should filter any post with that word or phrase, so when tagging your own content warnings, please don’t use // at the end, it makes it harder for people to filter!
Ex: #tw: blood// #blood/// #blood tw// #bl0od/
Ex: #blood / #tw blood / #blood tw
And if you don’t want to see certain content, varying what you put in filtering helps. Because some people just tag the tw and some people add tw before or after, helps to add variation so nothing slips through!
First 5 tags are what show up in the search, feel free to talk in the tags! But have the first few tags what u actually want people to look up to find your post!
AN IMPORTANT NOTE: unless this changed and I wasn’t aware, I’m pretty sure if you have a link AT ALL in your post, it gets hidden from the tag search. Still shows up on your blog but the audience is not as wide— you can reblog your own post again and add links after the original post, or ask in the post to check the notes for the link. Shadowbanning accounts isn’t a thing here but posts can get shadowbanned kinda
Also adding “mutual aid” or “donations” to a help post shadow bans it, please don’t do that when making or reblogging a help post
You can go through tags! So you can make tags for your art, comics, characters, etc and sort them that way on your own blog, it’s super helpful! No like, idk, twitter collection needed
My talking tags are #amber talks for examples and my art is #my art, I can go through all of these whenever I want!
Give yourself an icon, and post like, something, anything. A lot of people (myself included) scope out new followers to make sure they’re not bots, and if I see an empty blog and no icon, I usually block, on the other side, if YOU see this, probably block
Block porn bots. They follow you to make their accounts seem more legitimate; following real users makes their accounts not look as botty, and might attract other bots to your blog as well, and speaking of them, don’t click their links lol, they’re either viruses, scams, or phishing scams, in general be careful of links, especially if it has an offer or it’s from someone you don’t know asking you to “test out their game”. You can get hacked and then your post will spit out spam for a while and possibly deleted from staff. Even if it’s from someone you know, check to make sure their account wasn’t hacked, especially if it’s an offer or deal or Raycon Sunglasses
Lots of people have main blogs and art blogs, but some people post art on main, or you can have an art blog and always reblog your art to your art blog/main blog; double dipping isn’t discouraged
You can reblog something as many times as you want, there’s no “you’ve tweeted this before” alert, old posts make the rounds again and you can reblog your art for morning or afternoon crowds so more of your followers see it, self reblogs are common!
Adding more tips as I think of them!

aaah i don't know if this is ok to send but i wanted to say some things here!! first off thank you for the good beelko art sksjdkd beelstarmon used to be a big comfort character for me and seeing other people appreciate her is the best feeling. second i want to open an rp blog with my tamer ocs, do you have any tips perhaps?? sorry if this is weird you dont have to answer if you dont want to!! /gen
Hello! Thank you so much for sending this to me ;u; Praises my day! I am happy to hear other people love this character too! When I discovered her couple of years ago I was instantly thinking about background so basically she is mix of canon & oc.
For a roleplay blog. I don't know your background in roleplaying so some of these might sound familiar or clear as day. But these are what I seek from roleplay blog:
Rules
The most important things you need at first are rules (if you have anything specific to tell the rp community/ roleplayers age / triggers / you want to tell about yourself / what style of rp you prefer etc / are there things you don't want to rp at all)
And as an rp blog, whenever I plan to follow them I read their rules the first to see if there is anything to consider - or maybe preventing us roleplaying.
That's actually the most important tip: always read one another rules, it is the biggest thing.
About
If you have ocs it is hiiiighly recmmended to make an about page for your characters. Basic info, like: who they are, where they come from and what they want. I have set basic info about Beelko in my blog and then history & other details, feel free to check out if you haven't.
First weeks with roleplay blog might be intimidating if first weeks might be quiet - and esp digimon community seems very small, so getting to start is the hardest part but definitely, I'd love to interact with characters in digimon universe.
Cutting posts & mass posting
In general people prefer to follow roleplay blogs that don't have lots of random things reblogged ( like blogs are treated like personal blogs ). People usually follow blogs to see character related things the most. I have personally had to unfollow people because their blogs would just mass post random tumblr posts clogging my dash, and not a sight of roleplay or character related posts.
Cutting posts requires the Xkit extension but for example if people tell me they have problem with it I will gladly cut posts for them. However, roleplaying in general without either cutting posts leads to suuuuuper long posts which might annoy other rp players on dashboard.
I hope these tips help a bit and offered something new! If there were any specific issues don't hesitate to ask.

Hohollo here! Well, I'm glad it's fixed! I had my fair share with computer-bad-luck and that's no fun. Omg a bakery? So cool!! What's your fav thing you sell during Xmas time? Fav pastry? :3 About AU, well I think you could feed me with them haha I'm very very deep into that rabbit hole x) And we are all missing these two babies here as well T^T But thanks god there's fanart and fanfic to help us with it haha (let me grab another magical parchment for the rest of that letter)
About Jolly&Rogers I did saw the arts too!I'm loving them soooo much♥ Maybe I see if I can borrow the two rascals for more adventures if you'd like too?Now about the angst, do you have any particular needs? I have a list of prompt I found that I could work with, that I can share with you if you don't have anything in mind already. Oh and anything you reeeeeally miss about CS that you'd like to see? :D
And I hope you'll have a wonderful weekend! (Will jump again for some more ask about ya :3) Lot of love, your csss
Santa, let me tell you my pain! Before sending it to get fixed, I made a back up for almost everything! Almost! I completely forgot about xkit! Now it’s back to default and I had just finished adding all my tags there! Just logged in to tumblr from my pc and saw it! I want to cry! I have to start over! -.-
Anyway, back to pleasant things! My favourite Christmas sweet is a greek biscuit (the biscuit alone doesn’t have much sugar) which right after it comes out of the oven we throw it in syrup! It’s called Melomakarono. It’s crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside because of the syrup! It’s delicious! It tastes like cinammon, clove, nutmeg and honey! Fave pastry in general is everything that contains chocolate! haha
I’m so thankful we have so many amazing and talented shipmates that even years after the end of the show, they still keep our fandom alive!
I never say no to anything that contains cats!!! haha I don’t have anything in mind, feel free to do something with that list!
You, too! Hope you had an amazing weekend!!

Getting Started Role Playing
I’ve had a number of asks on this topic over the years, and rather than retyping the same thing repeatedly, I’m gonna try and collect my thoughts on how to go about this. All of this is assuming you’re on desktop; mobile makes some things a little more difficult. Feel free to add to this; I’m sure there’s things I’m forgetting.
Warning: Long Post!
First things first: Preparation
Get your blog in order
Create a character bio - This should include character name, a description, and a background. If your character is a canon character, then it’s not so bad to forego this, but I think it’s a good idea even for canon characters, as not everyone is going to be familiar with every single character in a universe.
Put a short explanation of the blog in the blog header - This is like a pitch or an introduction to what your blog is about. This should indicate you’re an RP blog, who you RP(if you have multiple muses on the blog, I think it’s okay to just say ‘multiple OCs’ or ‘multiple muses’), and maybe the universe your muse is from. Some blogs also include if they’re selective or not, multi-ship or not, open to cross-over/multiverse or not, etc, but not nearly as necessary.
Rules page - not necessary, but sometimes helpful if you have any particular things, such as being unwilling to RP smut, or you have some triggers/sensitive topics that you aren’t will to do, etc.
Make sure your inbox is open - Seems silly, but I forget this one frequently when I’m making a new blog. Check other blog settings as well- (submissions, anon, etc)
Follow other blogs - This seems obvious, but it is key. Follow other blogs you want to RP with! Find others from the universe your muses are set in. Do take the time to read their bios and rules pages, if they have any.
Write an Introduction post - Not everyone does this, but I think it’s very helpful. It should be a SHORT post, in or out of character. Many blogs are disinclined to reblog long intro posts because people instinctively skip over walls of text.
Reblog RP memes - The Intro post will help generate interest, the RP memes make it easy to break the ice.
Next Step: Getting Out There
Provided you have taken the time to read other people’s rules and bios, reach out!
If they’ve reblogged memes you are interested in, send an ask with that meme - These are GREAT icebreakers so you can get started with relatively low effort. Friendly reminder: Read the meme carefully. Typically the meme has some form of explanation or instruction in it, and it is very frustrating when someone sends in a meme when they clearly did not bother to actually read what it’s about.
Use the messenger to ask to plot - Sometimes blogs don’t post memes often, or they reblog memes that don’t quite work for your character. Politely ask to plot. Try to come with ideas. It can be frustrating when someone comes to you wanting to plot but has NO idea about what to do. I personally will frequently take premises from memes I like and adjust them as necessary.
Open starters - Alternative to memes, sometimes blogs will post ‘open starters’. These are usually open ended in-character posts that other role players can reply to. It isn’t a bad idea to post your own open starters either, if you’re feeling up for it. Note: Generally speaking, open starters once taken by someone are not available for additional role players unless otherwise noted in the tags. If you like an open starter that has already been taken, you can also use the messenger to ask if you can also get in on that. Many RP bloggers use thread trackers, so the starter would need to be copied to a new post before beginning RP.
Important Notes: Etiquette
There are a number of rules and behaviors that are important to keep in mind, some obvious, some not so much. In no particular order.
Patience - This is my number one thing. RPers come from all walks of life- full-time students and career people, big and small families, personal struggles, different time zones, language barriers abound. And Tumblr is not a well programmed website, so notifications don’t pop up, or get buried under other things. So don’t panic if people don’t immediately reply. Don’t be rude when following up after a reasonable amount of time has passed. Give people the opportunity to measure their replies to you.
Try to keep your In Character and Out of Character clear/separate - Some RP blogs are actually a mishmash of personal and roleplay. Many blogs indicate in the tags or with markings of some form(the most common being ‘//’ slashes or () parentheses). It can be confusing for people without these markers.
Do not reblog RPs you are not involved in - This is a personal pet peeve. RP posts are often only snippets of the overall story, and when reblogged it is taken out of context. The other problem is it adds notifications to a thread that aren’t from the partner, and can be confusing. RPThreadTracker doesn’t have a problem with it, but other forms of tracking can struggle.
Respect and ‘Don’t like Don’t follow’ - universes big and small, OCs and Canon Characters over the top and from humble beginnings, we’re all here to have a good time. You’re not going to like every mun or muse you come across. Not every other blog is going to like you or your muse. People talk shit about self-inserts, teenage OCs, people who like to RP almost exclusively smut, and myriad of other things. But those muns are doing things that make them happy. And you don’t get to control what other people do. If you don’t like it, don’t follow. Don’t RP with them. Let it go.
Self Care - This is part of a larger topic and related to the above bullet point, but important to at least touch on. Not everyone who RPs is well or good. This is meant to be fun. So if you are stressed out or overwhelmed by an RP partner or thread for whatever reason, talk to your partner about it. If they do not respect your requests or needs, then it would be better to not RP with them. There are people who struggle with a myriad of health and situational issues. You will at one time or another meet people who will insist you cater to their every whim, try to control you and your muse. Block these people.
Read tags - This may not seem like an etiquette thing, but this is important. Some people communicate extensively this way. It will help to prevent communication errors.
Read More - use the read more function for NSFW threads. It’s the [...] at the end of the options bar
Tagging - Tag NSFW, triggering content, and anything else you think appropriate. I also try to tag my different verses, my in character and out of character posts, etc.
Trim Your Posts - This is hard to do on mobile, but necessary. When a post has many reblogs, it can be tedious to scroll past. Trimming them/cropping them makes a big difference. [Link here for a tutorial on how to trim - Browser]
Mun and Muse Knowledge [Meta Gaming] - There maybe things your character does not know, and cannot know, that you know. Remember to keep the distinction. Nothing kills my desire to RP with someone than their character somehow reading my character’s thoughts.
Controlling other Characters [God Modding] - You control your character. Your partner controls theirs. You don’t control if they get hit by a punch, if they dodge, if they punch back. It’s part of the give and take.
Drive the Story - Role Playing is joint story telling. Don’t put all the burden if directing where the story goes on your partner. Give your partner something to react to, to build on. If you only ever give one sentence replies, it’s going to get tedious fast.
Other Tips and Tricks
I am a big fan of XKit, a browser addon that makes Tumbling much easier for RPers. [Link here!] The specific functions that are most helpful are Editable Reblogs and One Click Reply. Editable reblogs makes it far easier to trim in post. One Click Reply makes it possible to reply to comments and other notification forms.
In addition to those two, I also like to use the Blacklist, and Post Block functions. Some RPers or topics I particularly cannot stand, so I use Blacklist to keep them from my dash. Post Block is great for those discourse posts and individual RP threads that just squick you out for whatever reason.
I also am easily lost and confused by the innumerable notifications I get on the daily, so it became very important for me to use a website called RPThreadTracker. I highly recommend it, as I occasionally have threads that don’t get replied to for weeks. They also have an add-on button so you can click to add a thread to your list quickly and easily.
Terms
There is a bit of a jargon with this. Sorry if it’s been confusing thus-far!
Mun - the writer behind the blog
Muse - the fictional character, the character
IC/OOC - In Character / Out of Character
OC - Original Character
Thread - the roleplay, the chain of posts making up the story
Selective/Semi-Selective/Private/Mutuals Only - This is often in a blog header - indicates how picky the mun is about selecting RP partners and threads. Read their rules. Respect their decisions to RP or not to RP.
Multi-verse - Indicates the blog is open to threads outside of their designated universe. (IE, my Warhammer character being willing to RP with an Overwatch character). It is advisable to message the mun to hash out the details.
DM or PM - Direct message or private message. Both indicate the tumblr message system.
AU - Alternate Universe. Indicates a deviation from the traditional universe.

I was wondering how you first started your berry legacy? Did you make a new simblr for it? How did you first start posting and getting into a routine? I really want to make a legacy myself but i'm scared that it would look really mediocre and unorganized! Any tips on how to plan out the storyline and start posting? Thank you!! (sorry if you see this question somewhere else i'm asking a few of my favorite blogs)
Sorry about the late response to this! I’ve been seeing some good responses and tips from @simcitiess, @frost-rainbowcy, @socialbunnies & @bouquet-of-scissors, but I’ll try to add what’s been helpful for me. :)
I’m sure to ramble so I’ll just put my response under a cut…
My Simblr
Well I first started my simblr because I was reading a lot of berry pastel rainbowcys and they were inspiring me to write my own. I thought about it for a long time before I decided to actually go for it. (I did post some Sims 2 stories but that was a long time ago and it had been awhile since I had written anything.)
After I decided to write the Gumdrops, I got 2-3 weeks worth of posts ready before I actually started sharing them. Part of this was to make sure I was actually going to stick with it and the other part is because I do work full time and having a queue built up is really helpful. From there, I made it my goal to have at least 6 Gumdrop posts per day.
My Simblr is my first and only blog, so I’m don’t know how it would have worked as a side blog.
Organization Tips
Being organized helps a lot. I have all of my story images sorted in folders - usually 50 posts per folder. I also do all of my writing in Word with the post number above it. I find this helpful because it gives me a chance to reread and edit before adding it to my actual posts in tumblr.
Tags are super important for keeping your blog organized. Using XKit’s Quick Tags will save you a lot of time. I’d recommend having a tag for your challenge (ex: gumdrop pastel rainbowcy) and a tag for the generation you’re on (ex: gpr gen 1). These are really helpful when linking back to your story.
I’d also recommend checking out other simblrs to see what they’re doing with their tags and their themes. It’s really helpful when setting up your own.
Photo editing
Editing your photos really does help them stand out more. I use several different Photoshop actions on mine, all of which I found from other people’s simblrs. So if you see a style you like, you should check their resources and even send them an ask to see how they’re editing their pictures. Running your game with the best graphic settings also really helps with your photo quality.
But if your computer can’t handle that or if you don’t have Photoshop, that’s okay. Just do the best you can with your pictures, and you can try using GIMP which is free. Don’t let photo quality discourage you from posting your story.
Story
I let a lot of things inspire me for my story. Like I said, I started the Gumdrops because I was reading a lot of other BPRs and they got me thinking about how I would do things differently.
Often I have specific scenes or moments in my head that I build around, and other times I have ideas about things that I would like to write about. For example: My ideas for Figgy’s story came from the type of relationship/couple I wanted to try writing about, while my ideas for Gen 3 came from 2 big story scenes that I decided on (both of which came to me while listening to music btw).
I’d also recommend being flexible with your story. Our sims have a mind of their own and sometimes they’ll take your story in a completely different direction then you were thinking. (Looking at you Kit! ;) )
Most Importantly
Have fun with it and don’t let it stress you out. You should play how you want to, write how you want to and post when you want to. If you’re enjoying yourself, it will show in your story. :)
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. I’m hoping to see you around simblr soon!

How to Avoid Spoilers and Spoiler Etiquette for Tagging
Did you miss this weeks episode? Have you missed this season’s episodes in general? But you still intend to watch it and don’t want spoilers?
There are a few things you can do. Most of them means you need something like Tumblr Savior or XKIT. Basically none of this works on mobile.
1- Blacklist the show.
This seems obvious but a lot of people still need to be told to do this. I sometimes will get angry that someone posted something without tagg- ... oh look I forgot to blacklist this tag, nevermind my bad. Seriously. Did it just last night. I was about to be pissed when I realized that the post was tagged. I, for some reason, hadn’t bothered to tag for the show nor the show’s spoiler tags.
Get preemptive with this shit. Most people are reactionary with their tagging. I blacklisted this show because something already got spoiled, but I should have known to blacklist it before.
If you’re just a week behind, you can just blacklist the spoiler tags. For instance, I have “supernatural spoilers” and “spn spoilers” blacklisted all the time, unless I’m 100% up to date and usually the season needs to be over. Right now I’m a season behind so I have “supernatural” and “spn” also blacklisted.
2 - Blacklist your main ships/fav characters.
If you’re like me, you probably end up following a bunch of people that either post exclusively about the show, your ship, or your character, or they at least post some good content along those lines. Well, just to be safe, especially if you don’t want spoilers for those ships/characters specifically, blacklist them until you catch up.
Unfortunately, a lot of people think tagging ships or characters is mutually exclusive from tagging the show. Back to my supernatural example: I follow someone that posts a lot of destiel, but they don’t always tag destiel posts as “spn” or “supernatural.” They do almost always tag those posts as “destiel,” however. So the ship gets blacklisted.
There is also this notion being pushed in a lot of corners of fandom that you shouldn’t tag a ship or character, especially if they’re very, very popular, with the media name because it “floods” the tag. That’s bullshit. A huge reason to tag is to allow for blacklisting. At the very least, tag it with the spoiler tags. This keeps it out of the main show tag (kind of, not really, tumblr is garbage) but still makes it easy to blacklist with one or two tags, instead of needing tags for each character and ship.
3 - Unfollow people.
This is one that works on mobile. It’s also the least favorite one. Some people try to tag for spoilers. Some people just keep forgetting to tag when, for instance, they live blog. Or they’re reblogging and they don’t tag anything. Maybe their on mobile and can’t be bothered to tag/tag “excessively.” Maybe they don’t give a fuck.
I used to follow a lot of people that seemed to have zero regard for other people when it came to spoilers. A huge reveal from the flash was spoiled by some jackass (read: really nice person who didn’t think before posting) that saw gifs of the reveal, felt strong emotions from the reveal, and reblogged without a single fucking tag. At the time, I had everything blacklisted. “the flash,” “the flash spoilers,” “flash,” “flash spoilers,” several ships, a few characters (including the character the reveal was about). But all the blacklisting in the world won’t help if they don’t fucking tag it...
4 - Blacklist the blog.
... unless you blacklist the blog itself.
Sometimes you don’t want to unfollow. Sometimes, you’re emotionally attached to the blog or you want it there for when you catch up. But they don’t tag. They never tag. I follow several blogs that are predominantly shadowhunters material. And let me tell you, very few actually tag the show “shadowhunters.” They don’t tag “malec,” they don’t tag “sh spoilers,” they don’t tag “sh cast.” Which is sooooooooooooo frustrating.
Some blogs have said they don’t need to tag because you’re following them and you should know that’s all they post. I followed a coldflash blog that refused to tag coldflash for just that reason. However, a general trend, when blogs refuse to tag because everything would be tagged that way... they tend not to tag anything actively useful. In my experience, these blogs are less likely to tag for triggers, very rarely tag spoilers, don’t tag for cast posts... If they’re a gen blog, some tag for ships and characters, but if they’re a ship blog, that’s unlikely.
So if you follow a blog that doesn’t respect spoiler rules of etiquette, blacklist them. You aren’t unfollowing them, they’ll be there when you’re ready, but you can now control your experience with them, where previously you were unable to.
NOTE: This can work in other areas too. Is a blog taking a turn in tone? Maybe blacklist them for a while and see if it reverts back later. Is the blogger going through something that makes a lot of their posts upset you? It’s okay to blacklist them and cut yourself off from that, you don’t owe them anything. Do you really like the blogger but suddenly their posts, which you’ve always enjoyed before, are weighing on you or pulling you down? Blacklist them for now. That’s okay.
5 - Take a step back from tumblr.
This also works for mobile /s. I’ve taken a step back from tumblr for a lot of reasons. I left the site for about 6-8 months a year or so ago, because I was becoming obsessed with needing to see every post on my dash. I’ve gone off for a week or so because I got pissed off at spoilers. And sometimes, when I know there’s going to be a lot of content that everyone’s talking about and I can’t avoid, I’ll bunker down.
Bunker down, in this case, refers to remaining on the site but only accessing your own activity page. You can see who interacts with you, directly, but you don’t have to see what everyone is saying independent of your posts. This can be a preemptive form of control on your experience.*
This is sort of like the “abstinence” form of avoiding spoilers, with bunkering down being sort of like the 2nd base of fandom interaction.
You can still message people and reply to asks, with this tactic. The goal is to stay off your dash and out of browsing. Control your input by just interacting with reactions to your posts or direct conversations with bloggers.
* Note: This can work really well if you are being overwhelmed by a trend on your dash/the site, as well. If you’re following discourse blogs, for instance. Sometimes things get to heavy and bunkering down can allow you to temporarily escape that and still feel like you’re involved.
If anyone has any other suggestions, please feel free to message me or send in an ask.
Now let’s get into spoiler etiquette. Here are some suggestions for keeping your blog free of spoilers and making it a safe place for fans that miss episodes.
1 - TAG YOUR POSTS!
I know this seems obvious but I like to think I already demonstrated how blogs fail to tag. If you are a shipper that keeps tagging the ship and not the show, tag the show. Especially if you post during/immediately after new episodes. Your ship might be what the post is about but there can be spoilers for unrelated matters included. The same goes for character posts.
If you’re a blog that is 100% show/character/ship, still, TAG YOUR POSTS. Does it get tedious tagging every post if you’re posting a lot? Sure. But still do it. If you don’t care about the spoiler thing (kind of douchey but whatever), do it for the spreading of your blog, as your posts will not be included in tag searches.
If it’s simply that you don’t feel like tagging every post, get Auto-tagger on XKIT (I don’t know if there are similar features on other extensions). Auto-tagger let’s you set up words/phrases to always tag with. You can control this based on post type, where the post originated, etc. I use this feature to keep the tags from the person I’m reblogging it from - I can erase their specific, commenting tags and keep their pertinent ones without having to type it all in. If you’re a blog that ONLY posts malec, for instance, set it up to tag malec on every post (and “shadowhunters” or “sh”).
If you’re a live blogger, set it up before the episode to tag all your posts with the spoiler tags. Or give your live blogging a specific tag and warn your followers. Be consistent week to week so your followers can block a single tag. Remember that your followers see your last post before the earlier ones, so it’s easy to miss the post where you say what your tag is. Make it well known.
2 - Put things under cuts.
When a huge reveal happens, consider putting posts related to that under a cut, at the very least the night of the airing. This is also considerate of mobile users. If your follower is then curious and opens the post, it’s their own damn fault that it’s been spoiled.
This can also prevent your loyal followers from spoiling things as well. That huge flash spoiler I discussed from earlier? That was from a misc blog. Someone’s personal tumblr that they posted all their fandom shit on, their life stories, their selfies and interesting bugs they found walking to work, etc. They just jump the gun on posting and are inconsistent with tagging, particularly in the frenzy of postings and reblogging after a new episode. Had the big reveal been under a cut, I wouldn’t have cared that they reblogged without tags. I wouldn’t have clicked the keep reading.
3 - Get XKIT.
In case you brushed off #1, because you don’t tag your shit and you don’t want to tag every fucking post, let me be clear.
You can get a plugin on XKIT that auto tags all your posts. All of them. You don’t do anything. You can set it to tag all your picture posts as “pics,” you can set it to tag all your reblogs as “not my shit,” you can set it to tag your posts with the blog names you reblogged from. Whatever. You can do near anything with it.
Not wanting to tag because “it’s too much work” is you being willfully ignorant that actually it doesn’t have to be.
4 - Tag *in* post.
A lot of people complain that they’re mobile users and so tagging is a lot of work and also they can’t get XKIT, blah blah blah.
Well blacklisting works for shit in the posts too. So hit that post with a taglist at the end: “sh, sh spoilers, shadowhunters, shadowhunters spoilers, liveblogging,” whatever. If you’re posting a lot, copy the tags you should be using. It’ll save you time and it’s not difficult.
5 - Don’t tag with JUST the word “spoiler(s).”
This one always gets me. A blog tries to be courteous. Maybe not all their followers have seen the new episode. So they tag it. But they tag it as “spoiler.”
...
That doesn’t do me any good. If I blacklisted the word “spoiler(s),” then I’d be blacklisting every single post that might be a spoiler. If I specifically don’t want to see spoilers for teen wolf, so I blacklist the term “spoiler” itself, now I don’t get most of the posts about the dceu. About mcu and infinity war. About other shows/movies/books just coming out. About meta specifically about the nature of spoilers (like this).
When something is blacklisted, you can choose to still see posts on a case by case basis, but if they’re just wrapped up in a “spoiler” ribbon, how will I know if it’s one of the safe spoilers (i.e., not specifically the show I was targeting with my blacklist) or the actual spoilers?
If you’re going to tag, thank you. Seriously. Thank you. But please, tag specifically.
6 - Don’t use ambiguous tags/tags used for other things.
Speaking of specific tagging, hey, be specific. Actually make sure your short hand can’t be confused with something else/is used only (or nearly exclusively) by your show.
If you did a search on tumblr right now for “spn,” nearly every post and blog is about the cw show supernatural. However, let’s look at teen wolf and game of thrones.
The traditional shorthand for game of thrones is “got.” See a problem? If I blacklist “got” then I blacklist everything that uses those three letters/that word. Someone says, “I just got the new pokemon!” ... blacklisted.
Then you have teen wolf, which gets referred to as “tw” a lot in conversation. Understandable. However “tw” IS NOT a good tag for tagging the show. I just did a tumblr search on “tw” as a tag. While all of the “related” tags were from the show, of the first six featured blogs, one was about the show teen wolf. Two were about eating disorders, one was about self harm, one was an asian porn blog, and one was actually a supernatural trigger blog. Because supernatural is always relevant.
A good chunk of the posts seem to be about teen wolf. A good chunk are also about eating disorders and self harm. This is because, while “tw” is technically the initials of the show, it is predominantly used on this site to refer to “trigger warnings.” If I blow “tw” then I am blocking absolutely every post marked “tw” for trigger purposes (tw self harm, tw food, tw incest, etc). If I want to block that trigger, I will. There are a lot of triggers that don’t bother me and it’d be annoying having them blocked.
Recently over at @autism-asks we had to switch our referencing and tagging of “special interests” from “si” to “spin.” This is because “si” is widely already used to refer to and tag “self injury.” We want people to be able to tag for what’s relevant to their needs, so we adjusted accordingly and asked our followers to do the same.
So before using short hand, maybe do a tumblr search. It works best if it’s without blocking explicit content. If you decide, for instance, you wish to tag posts about “billy joel” as “bj”... well, you might be surprised at what that actually encompasses on tumblr. There might be words you aren’t familiar with, multiple acronyms might exist, or other communities might already have adopted that tag. “st” can stand for either star trek, stranger things, or numerous other things (I found star wars posts, photography, steven universe, spirit tracks, and porn because there’s always porn).
If you insist on using an abbreviation, consider using a modifier. “tw mtv” or “tw tv” for instance. The flash fandom often tags things “flash cw” and most (considerate) sherlock fans use “bbc sherlock.” This prevents posts about something like adobe flash, flash fic, flash big bangs, etc from being blocked, or from other shows with characters of the same name (sherlock from elementary or the rdj sherlock movies or the original books) from being blocked when you’re only trying to block a single show.
Probably the most effective thing, though, is something only @staff can do. So tumblr @staff, maybe work blacklists into the site itself so everyone can use it. So that blacklists can be tied to the account itself. You know how useless ns/fw tags are if you’re actually using mobile, a public computer, a work computer? I can’t implement XKIT on every public computer I use. The block feature is great, it is, but blacklisting isn’t the same as blocking. Most users don’t want to block every blog they might need to blacklist tags for. So please work that into the site.

I'd like to use this blog to roleplay as Katsuki Bakugou from boku no hero academia. It's my first time roleplaying on tumblr, so I'd appreciate some advice!
Is it an angel? Is it a god? N-no… it’s just ♈ aries mod. Sorry to disappoint, but I have arrived to give the advice you have requested! Thank you for joining our group, I am sure it will quite a lot of fun.
Let’s get this Tumblr Roleplay 101 Crash Course started.
Roleplay on Tumblr is done mostly by reblogging each others’s posts! Here’s a breakdown of what you can mostly expect on the dashboard;
☆ Type of RP posts ☆
1. Replies
Writing a reply involves reblogging someone’s RP post and adding in your own bit at the end about what your character does and how they engage with the other’s character. This is part of a reblog chain. Do note: it’s common etiquette to cut posts. This means removing any replies before your partner’s last reply to shorten the post and avoid dash clutter. (Install New Xkit and its extension editable reblogs to be able to trim!)
2. Starters
Posts written to start a roleplay chain between two (or more) roleplayers. Usually this happens after roleplayers discuss what they are going to RP about and one offers or is tasked to write the first post. It is common RP etiquette to mention the other roleplayer in your starter ( add @ [theirblogurl] to have the post show up in their notifications! )
If you would like to ask others to roleplay for you, you can post a starter call(post in which you offer to write people a starter if they like the post, usually capped at ~3 or so) or an RP ad (a post asking who would like to RP). Both are tagged #steci RP ad and you can also browse this tag to find muns to RP with. Please note that writing someone an umprompted starter, without asking them first, is generally frowned upon; as we all may have limited energy, IRL things blocking us from RP, or simply too many threads to juggle at the moment (rumour goes around some go as far as 20 threads at once).
3. Opens
Opens are like starters, except not directed at anyone specifically. It is rather common for people to lay down a certain scenario and anyone, who wishes to engage in roleplay with you, is invited to reply to the thread by reblogging it with a reply. When you create your own, you can tag it as #steci open for others to see! When you would like to reply to an open instead, simply browse this tag.
Moving on, there’s another exciting element to Tumblr RP that might be new to you–
☆ Meme Day ☆
Every Saturday at 06:00 UTC (you can view a clock on our homepage too) until Sunday 06:00 UTC we hold something called Meme Day! On this day you can reblog any meme posts (here is an official Stella City meme as example) to interact in a fun way with members and explore your character more.
People typically reblog memes for others to send them “asks” with certain prompts for them to answer (people publicly post them to the dash so other roleplayers can join in on the fun of reading). There are different types of memes, ranging from ones that help get a random thread started, to ones that help you establish headcanons about your character or to teach others more about them. Have fun and experiment!
Any meme can be reblogged during this time frame. Afterwards, we ask you not to reblog them anymore until the next Meme Day, but you can still answer any prompts in your inbox whenever you wish.
We ask any meme-related posts to be tagged as #steci memeing, so people can freely blacklist it if they wish to not see the memes on the dashboard. Of course, feel free to create your own memes as well!
☆ Other Useful Things ☆
I ran out of beginner tips… Luckily we have a bunch of resources laid down for you already! Here are some things you can use or read through to help you with your (Stella City) Tumblr RP endeavors;
Rules
Contains general rules for members to follow. You most likely have read through it already, but it also contains a list of common tags we use and OoC things for you to know.
Premise
Get yourself grounded in our setting! It’s there to link you to other characters in a way and help you create opportunities for threading. Go wild at Stella City’s school, Aster Academy; write a sheep, get a part-time job at Castella Café– the opportunities are endless! Explore in character as much as you like.
Resources
To help you learn more about our setting… here is a page with MORE information. We reckon it might be information overload to read all of that at first, so take it easy. Either way, if you ever want to know what type of locations Stella City has for you to explore, or what currency we use in this city– the information is accessible right from this very page.
Don’t worry if there’s information you cannot find on this page; we have a F.A.Q. page and a F.A.Q. tag too! Can’t find it in those places either? Guess we just never covered it before… In that case, we’ll answer any questions you may have if you send it to our ask box!
Masterlist
Follow everyone! Or just the characters you think are interesting. Either way, you can follow any members you want to see on your dashboard, so go wild, tiger!
RP Tips & Tricks
Want to learn more? Some cool stuff? Go to this dandy page and learn more about the basics, formatting, xkit, and the like! Members helped us compile this, so it’s sure to help out.
We hope this helps! May you have any other questions, feel free to ask us! Thanks for asking us and reading!
