☆ We’re closing the group ☆

To each beginning comes an inevitable end, but these moments shouldn’t always be regarded with sadness. For Stella City, such a time has come. After great thought and consideration, we have taken the decision to close the directory.

In the wake of such a decision, we would like to reach out to every single one of you that have been part of the group. Regardless of how little or how long you have been around, we want to convey our thanks for having helped bring SteCi to life. The place wouldn’t have been the same without the contribution brought by each and every single one of you, regardless if it was by direct help, roleplaying, or through any other manner. 

Thank you again for being by our side, for helping to create a positive and relaxing environment. We sincerely hope that for as long as it lasted, it was as enjoyable for all of you, as it has been for us.

While the future may be uncertain and we can only be hopeful, we wait with bated breath for what it has to offer. If we ever decide to reopen, then we will be happy to welcome anyone who has been a part of our group, as well as new members alike. With this goodbye, we exhale a soft “maybe we see you later”, and wave as we part our ways for now.

As a result of our masterlist closing down, we will not answer any messages anymore and pages on the masterlist will not be updated. Current members of Stella City are free to continue their roleplay and find each other as they wish, as long as it’s made clear our group is no longer active anymore.

We thank you for your time and your sincere contribution to our community and group thus far. With this farewell, we wish everyone the best of luck, and to take their pieces of happy memories with them.

How do you guys handle merfolk? You have a beach so would they live in the ocean around there? I can see them using a wheelchair or something to get around the city, but strictly for sleeping and stuff would they be roomed at the beach or have special accommodations in a hotel?

I’ll try to answer your question(s) step by step, so I hope everything will be clear and answers everything that you want to know!

First of all, the character would still be officially listed under a room in any of the three possible accommodations. Which of the three they’ll be listed under is up to you and can be written down on the application under the ‘housing’ part. This does not mean they have to stay or even sleep in that room, however- it is just used for administration, so that there’s an address to deliver any mail to for the character.

Secondly, if so desired, the character is given a wheelchair upon arrival so they can get around as they wish. Along with that, the character will be given the option of having a sheep buddy to help them if they want to. As the mun, you get to decide the appearance and name of the sheep if you want one for your character!

Thirdly, there is in fact a beach, so the character is free to spend as much time there as they wish! If they want to actually sleep there in the water, they’re also free to! Just remember that any letters addressed to them will be delivered to their hotel room instead. Also please note, that much like trying to leave Stella City by walking, if the character tries to leave by swimming in the ocean, they seem to get disoriented and turned around every time, finding themselves swimming back to the shore again.

Finally, since the hotel rooms are adapted to the characters and their needs, they can have a bath or even a tank placed in their room- provided that it fits, of course, and depending on which housing they choose and are able to afford! Moonpie Motel might be able to supply them with a tub, and Hummingbird Hotel with a large bath or decent tank, where Gâteau Château would be able to provide them with a large luxurious tank with expensive filtration system.

Sorry that this answer got so long, but since it was interesting to work with, I figured it’d be best to be as precise and helpful as I could! As such, we hope this was in fact helpful!

Galloping Out of Town, but Not Out of Our Hearts

Or so, I’d like to think.   And I have to do this before anyone else tries to steal my thunder.

That’s right, my sweet children and beautiful city-- this is not a “goodbye” but rather “see you again”, because life is unpredictable.  For the past six months or so, I’ve been struggling with balancing a 40 hour work week, modding, and trying to take care of myself-- as seen first by me mysteriously vanishing in terms of mod presence, but also when I dropped my characters to lessen my load, yet didn’t start becoming more prominent as a mod once more.  I openly admit to being a little scared to announce that I was leaving the mod team, and Stella City as a whole, and spent probably half of the time I’ve been “away” going back and forth with myself on how to approach doing it and if I even wanted to actually step down or not.

I’ve been part of Stella City prior to day 1.  I remember when Gini first messaged me and a few other friends about them working on a new rp group, and shooting their ideas at us and looking for tips and suggestions from us on names and the like.  I was waiting to board a flight when Stella City officially opened, and was quick to send an character application in-- despite my original unease about joining another group since I hadn’t been in one in years and was a fairly busy person.  From the first day, I’ve enjoyed every moment spent in the city of stars and candy clouds (and sheep.. lots, and lots of sheep..)  I joined the mod team sneaky sneaky, helping Gini with the inbox as they were busy themselves with maintaining the fresh city.  It wasn’t long before the official announcement of Sagittarius Mod was made-- I always felt like it was a month, though it was more like a week or two.. time apparently selectively flies when you’re having fun I guess, haha..

The group spent a long time being run by just Gini and I-- a concept we all look back on and wonder how we survived and how we never wanted to do that again, haha.  But we somehow made it work.  Bringing in more mods also initially scared me because… what if the fresh young meat took all my work?  What if people forgot the delightfully stupid Sagittarius Mod in the sea of Libra, Leo, and Virgo?  After a well staged fight with Aries Mod on Twitter that shook much of the group, while the two of us were cracking up (new mods included in the fear after I was removed from the mod chat)... We were ready to party.   I even got my own grave in Starlight Shrine because I was always dying.  Spooky Ass Ghost Mod truly became a ghost, showing up in the inbox whenever the young folk gave him the chance-- until grandpa had learned “wow not having to do the inbox is nice…. Me likey”  Mod memes consisting of miscellaneous stock photos and poorly drawn on astrological symbols were filling up people’s minds--- or at least my mind, and that’s the mind that matters, right? That’s what I like to tell myself.  Before I knew it, Pisces, Gemini, and Cancer were in our numbers, and I was even further trotting back from the mod-verse.

It was such an honour to help raise and watch the mods grow into really what feels like those who really run this city.  Each of them brought, and continue to bring, new ideas to Stella City and help the group grow in the best way, and in way that this grandpa can’t even imagine doing so myself.

I knew it wasn’t going to add stress to not be around for a little while with such amazing mods around, so I continued to take my break, not giving any suggestions of when I’d come back-- just occasionally swinging by to give my two cents.   I come into the mod chat when I get the chance now, and see the hard work all of the mods (excluding me) are doing each and every day and am shaken to my very core at how amazing they all are in their own ways.  Because Stella City has such an amazing team of mods, I feel better than ever about stepping away from being a mod.  I know (my lack of presence has proven already) that Stella City will not suffer without the strange half man, half horse cryptid that I’ve become.  If nothing else, it may suffer an unexplainable feeling of “this should be sad but... who is Sagittarius mod?”  I can only hope my grave will serve as a memory of me that’s far better than I was… New members going to Starlight Shrine and seeing it, and wondering “sag mod?????” Because, honestly? Me too.

Thank you, everyone who is part of Stella City, was part of Stella City, and will be part of Stella City, for so many amazing memories-- my own fears of stepping back were headlined by fears of regretting it because I have so many memories with this group and have had so much fun being part of it.  I’m determined to keep this not a farewell, because perhaps once I get myself put back together, perhaps citizens of this quaint little city will start reporting sightings of a strange creature with the head, torso, and arms of a horse, but the lower half and legs of a man… Who knows, and who will believe them?

That in mind, ahem, Yusuke Asahina  and Ohgi Krian have been dropped! (that sounds unsafe and DCF should be called..) .... *looks into a mirror* Thank you for playing them as you did ☆

☆ It’s been a year ! ☆

Time sure flies, and so do we (albeit not literally). On the 6th of January, in the year 2017, Stella City was off on its rocky start in the whole Tumblr roleplay business. Set up by one person, with a mod team that eventually expanded to eight, we have worked for the past year to manage the group and keep the writing muses sparked by presenting our premise and any additions or events.

And we’re happy that many people seem to have enjoyed our efforts thus far! While we are currently taking it easy, we still would like for everyone that is a part of our group to have fun and, if possible, be able to relax a little too.

Many people have joined and roleplayed within our group in the past year. To those who did: thank you! And to those who are still around: an even bigger thank you! We’re filled with an abundance of gratefulness for those who were or are a part of our community. Our flock couldn’t have flourished without ewe!

We know a new year presents itself with new possibilities and plenty of new challenges. As we face them, we wish you all good luck with yours, too.

aAAaaaAAa okay desperate times ask for desperate measures. I actually was really busy in December too, but right now I seem to be absolutely packed with work & family obligations so I would like to put my characters on hiatus :^( I hope to return soon, I just have been occupied with many social obligations that happen around this time of the year. My characters are Byakuya Togami, Kokichi Ouma and Nagito Komaeda from the Danganronpa series. Today is the 3rd of January. Thanks!
