My baby daughter got her adorable puffin-print dress absolutely CAKED in mud crawling around the yard and my first thought was "oh no her beautiful dress"

And my second thought was "oh huh it really WOULD be easy to unconsciously steer her away from playing in the dirt. Unlike my son, whose outfits are usually some kind of solid dark easily washed pants plus a shirt that doesn't trail in the dirt like a dress does."

Anyway something something gender roles start getting shoved on kids from literal birth, but with a little time to think about things, YOU TOO can let your children of any gender absolutely destroy their clothes in the dirt pit they're digging in your garden

#all clothes provided through hand me downs and grandparents #we asked for non strongly gendered or branded things and that mostly worked for firstborn boy #but baby girl has gotten nothing but the cutest little dresses #that I am absolutely not going to stress if she destroys because it's not like they'll last until next summer anyway #at which point she'll be big enough for her brother's dirt-compatible pants #now if we can get her to stop EATING the dirt that would be GRAND #her pronouns are om/nom #literal definition of a baby

Here’s my take on the whole audio books vs. reading:

Oral tradition of storytelling predates written ones by millennias, and honestly, which one you like is just a personal preference.

The actual difference is

when listening, you have no idea how to write characters’ names

when reading, you have no idea how to pronounce characters’ names

Literally these people from Gaza have made an account on Tumblr and is writing in english to communicate what they need and you all are coming onto my blog or on the tag and not reblogging their posts. We have people both Palestinian and non Palestinian vetting the fundraisers! I mean more the reblogs, more the chance of the fundraisers gaining momemtum, the more there would be a chance of a donation. Please donate if you can and reblog!!! and follow them if it is possible.

@/mohammedayesh has posted about getting leaflets, telling them to evacuate Rafah. They are very low on funds. Go follow them and reblog their posts and donate if possible.

We have @/haneenatya too whose mother is suffering from eye stroke and need to evacuate. Please I have been following them for some days and it doesn't seem their own posts are getting much attention.

Follow them! They are on tumblr. Reblog their posts and donate. The protests in universities are being done on account of them. They should be our focus.

(EDIT: on re-reading my post it seems as if I am dismissing all that the students of universities are doing. I am not. I just meant, since all of it is to help Palestinians, we must not ignore them when they ask for help).

on the one hand i love a good unsettling horror concept that never explains itself - midnight is so haunting and compelling years after it aired for good reason!! - on the other hand, this notion that wellll it was caused by a faerie circle and faeries don't have rules! so the episode doesn't need to make any sense! feels... like a cheap and lazy way of simply not bothering to write a complete story. to be quite honest.

#dw #yes i watched the new doctor who episode and yes i loved most of it but come on now with that ending #there's every chance we'll get more in the way of explanation later in the season so i'm not passing full judgement yet #but if this is all we get...#yes the themes of abandonment make sense but. why is old ruby signing all the time #why the 73 yards specifically.#why is there a faerie circle for mad jack/roger in the first place #why is ruby granted the opportunity to reset the timeline??#if it's reward for stopping roger's nuclear ambitions then why wait another 20-odd years to reward her??#WHY were these supposed faeries able to banish the doctor from reality and lock the tardis doors??#like this is a level of power we've never seen before!! it demands explanation #simply saying well they're faeries!! just doesn't cut it
