Sooooo ummmmmmm this is something that's probably going to piss a lot of people off, but I feel like I really need to say it.

If you get a message from an account claiming to be a Palestinian fundraiser, it is a bot. It is a scam. You need to report & delete the message and encourage others to do the same.

I know because I get messages on this account DAILY. I have a very high follower count and I'm pretty active and I interact with my followers a lot, and apparently that all adds up to one big bot magnet.

Bots following and messaging this account was a MASSIVE problem before Tumblr fixed its new account policies. I used to spend literally hours blocking and reporting the hundreds of bots that I would get following me each day.

I learned a lot about bots and how to identify them. The easiest way is with no avatar, "untitled" in the blog description (BTW if your avatar is still set to default PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD change it because you run a substantial risk of being accidentally blocked & reported as a bot).

One of the dead give aways of a bot was what I call "word salad" names. Three seemingly random words strung together making no sense, always adjective, adjective or noun, noun. If you reported a lot of these bots, you'd notice the same words kept showing up.

Nowadays, I am bombarded with fundraiser requests and sometimes, they don't even bother to hide the fact that they're a bot. The avatar is default, the blog title is "untitled," and the blog name is a classic randomly-generated word salad.

However MOST of the requests I get come from at least semi-legit looking accounts. There are pictures, a name, a story. Never mind that I've gotten that message three times from different accounts.

Sometimes, they claim to be vetted, but the whole vetting system essentially adds up to "trust me bro." There is no way of guaranteeing that this account isn't just lying about being vetted, claiming to be vetted by a false person, or are using the identity of a real Palestinian to scam people.

Previously, I've seen a lot of people getting attacked for raising questions about these fundraisers and getting attacked for being racist or for harming Palestinian families in danger, like Tumblr isn't a website famous for its scams and the words "The Arkh Project" "All or Nothing" or "Miss Officer and Mr. Truffles" mean nothing to you.

I personally have been scammed by people claiming to be charities on Tumblr before, specifically, The Leelah Project which used the name of a trans teenager who died by suicide to swindle people out of their money.

Luckily, there are actual, respected charities out there you can give money to if you want to help the cause:

One of the hardest things to accept about the situation in Palestine is that realistically, there is very little that your average outsider can do to change it. However, these large, well-respected and trustworthy charities are out there doing the hard work to keep people alive, and should be where the donation money is going

These scam bots feed on people's naïvety and need to believe that they are making a difference, and even worse, feed on the fear that by ignoring them, it somehow makes you a racist doing direct harm to a refugee family, when in fact they are using the suffering of Palestinians to take away money from those in need.

As far as fundraisers that don't send out random asks for donations, I honestly don't know. You'll have to do the work yourself and approach with much caution.

I'm putting out a scam warning for the user @/sheeyancjoje, also previously @/sheeyanc @/sheeyancjosie, possibly other urls, who claims to be a homeless & asthmatic trans person living in a tent. I have reason & evidence to believe that they are not who they say they are, that their photos/evidence is stolen, and that they are actually the scammer Laura Deramas, who is likely also running the blog @/destrawberry. They exhibit multiple red flags for typical scammer behavior including the following evidence:

First off, who is Laura? Laura is a scammer who was initially called out for scamming & suspicious behavior in 2021, then with some manipulation, convinced multiple people that she was genuine (including me), then it was revealed once more that she was scamming & doing everything she was originally called out for: including pretending to be multiple different people & then lying more when confronted about it, exaggerating how badly her family apparently needed "help", guilt tripping people into giving her money and then harassing anybody who did give her money & demanded they give her more. & then later lied a bunch more including faking an arrest & faking her own death (& later pretending to be her own sister asking for funeral money, & calling any evidence against Laura being alive "hate") despite the fact that shes still very much alive & has posted on her own social media multiple times after her alleged "arrest" on May 30th 2023, & alleged "death" on June 2nd, 2023. We'll come back to Laura & why all that is relevant in a minute.

First off, Sheeyanc doesn't actually ever provide evidence that proves what theyre saying is true. They say they're homeless and living in a tent, and while they keep showing a tent, how do we know that these photos aren't stolen? How do we know that those photos aren't just from some camping trip, or staged? How do we know they didn't just go take photos of an another homeless person's set up? We don't. They make other claims that they don't provide proof for, such as saying their legs were swollen, but didn't provide photos of this. We've also had a similar tactic of someone else claiming to he "homeless" and "living in a tent" & this turned out to be false.

Secondly, Sheeyanc has been harassing people to send them money, either by going into their dms to beg them and sending people photos to guilt trip them, or even literally telling people to open up their askbox or messages when they were closed specifically so they could do this. Laura was ALSO known to do this to various users, & she would send people unsolicited photos of her child or her family & talk about how much she was "suffering" to get people to feel bad for her, which she ALSO did to me. When she pretended to die, she also randomly sent people photos of her allegedly "dead" body to ask for money, which upset many people. If you go into the notes of this post, there's multiple users testifying in the notes that Laura would regularly pester them for money & send photos. Note that people asking strangers for large sums of money as a "loan" is a big red flag for scammers we've seen multiple times, including Laura. Below is Sheeyanc doing the exact same things listed above that Laura did: sending people unsolicited photos, talking about how much she was "suffering" unprompted, and asking for large amounts of money from individual users. Also notice the similarity in language and tone between Laura doing this & Sheeyanc doing this.

Thirdly, Sheeyanc blocked the Filipino user who called out Laura Deramas. This Filipino user was the one to discover she had faked her death & photoshopped someone else's death certificate to pretend it was hers. In addition to this, we also know Laura isn't actually dead also because after she'd been called out for this, the user who called her out very mysteriously started getting anon hate in Tagalog. Below is sheeyanc interacting with them just before blocking

& we know Laura has been known to get sassy & rude with anybody who called her out like here. note the appropriation of aave by itssmelau when confronting people who called her out, just like Laura did in the first callout link with the user lizardamiibo while ALSO pretending to be someone else.

As another major point, Sheeyanc has been seen interacting with another scam blog, @/destrawberry, and verbally encouraging people to give them money. Destrawberry is very likely run by the same person who was running imgonetoofar/imthegonetoofar because theyre claiming to be the same person & using the exact same photos, & before deleting, imgonetoofar was promoting & being promoted by the scammer sassysweetiegirl/zaquaaaablu (who referred to "imgonetoofar as their "friend"), both of whom I called out here. And as I mentioned before, the person behind @/destrawberry is a scammer, either someone who stole imgonetoofar's (another scammer) photos & is pretending theyre recent & to be them, or they're the same person who faked their death and came back again to ask for more money. And who else do we know who faked their own death? Laura lol. So in other words, Sheeyanc/destrawberry/imgonetoofar/sassysweetiegirl are all likely run by Laura pretending to be different people. On the left below is Sheeyanc promoting destrawberry, & then on the right is imgonetoofar promoting sassysweetiegirl in the replies, where you can also see me calling them out.

And lastly, Sheeyanc's banner is of the New Matina Town square in Davao city, the Phillipines. Davao city is where Laura lives. Here's a screenshotted image just in case they change it, and below, here's a comparison between Sheeyanc's banner on the top part of the image, while the image below it is a screenshot from a video of NMTS in Davao, very near where the banner photo would've been taken, but at slightly a different angle/position. You can tell its the same place because of the little circular green grass section in both of the photos, which is surrounded by a metal fence with the same design, both have the exact same road signs in the exact same place, & both are in front of a yellowish-white building with a second floor & balcony & the same design of roof, with palm trees.

& heres that same building but at a different angle (at the front). If you google "New Matina Town Square", you get the yellowish white building featured in the photo, and if you reverse image search sheeyanc's banner photo, you still get results for this Town square. Left is Google results, the right image is the Google reverse image results, highlighted in yellow.

If you want to be more precise, The yellowish building is a restaurant called "The commons at MTS", while the photo would have been taken next to another restaurant called "Taboan". Below is a helpful legend I've created from a Google maps view of the New Matina Square. The highlighted red area is where the banner photo approximately would've been taken, & the yellow area is where most Google search photos are taken at the front of the building. You can see the buildings I've mentioned, & if you don't believe me you can go take a look at Google maps & see for yourself.

And just so there's no confusion that Davao city is indeed where Laura lives, here's my old reblog of a post that Laura convinced someone to make for her where it confirms she lives in Davao city, as reblogged also by Laura and she was fundraising because of allegedly being affected by a flood there.

So to recap: the user Sheeyancjoje is likely the scammer Laura Deramas due to similar patterns of behavior, such as 1. Vague "proof", 2. Harassment of tumblr users in asking them for money, including sending unsolicited photos and guilt tripping or repeatedly asking for more money from people who already donated, 3. Asking for large amounts of money from individual users the same way Laura did, 4. Fighting with and blocking the same user that called out Laura for faking her own death, 5. Interacting with other confirmed scammers, including another one involved in a funeral scam, like how Laura was, 6. Their banner is literally a photo of Laura's city of residence

1. What is the main lesson of your story? Why did you choose it?

I'll use The Hunter, the Myth and the Cure for this!

I think the main lesson is how your past does not define your future. I didn't choose it per se, it just sort of happened due to how my characters behave and interact. Octavian in particular deals with a lot of guilt and grief for his past actions, despite some of them not being entirely his fault. During this current revision I realized this recurring theme and started leaning into it.

2. What did you use as inspiration for your worldbuilding?

I don't think there's anything specific for Valaria, just a lot of different elements that I like put together in one world. You've got humans in roughly the Georgian-Victorian Era (by our world's reference), you've got elves, also got a few original species of mine like the sang, the Draigo, and the devar. I also have werewolves (lycanthropes), this period of the world's history includes a genocide and a pandemic, yeah.

3. What is your MC trying to achieve, and what are you, the writer, trying to achieve with them? Do you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness or help the reader grow as a person?

I have three main characters: Draven wants money, mainly, and to deal with the lycanthropes, Octavian wants to find out the motives of the man who trapped him, and Reese wants to escape from captivity.

I mainly seek to entertain, and yeah teaching self-forgiveness is the main message but mostly I'm helping the characters grow.

4. How many chapters is your story going to have?

Uhhhh right now I'm working on chapter 6, but I haven't gotten to the second plot point yet so I think I'm about a quarter of the way through the original plan. Possibly 20 chapters, maybe more.

5. Is it fan fiction or original content? Where do you plan to post it?

Do Not, I repeat, DO NOT DELETE YOUR STUFF!!!

Even if you hate it, you never know when you might decide years down the road to revisit a concept or idea. Also, it's good if you want to see just how far you've come.

Your brain can tell you that a piece sucks, but that doesn't mean you should get rid of it. Just bury it for a while, dig it up, and it might be better than you thought it was. You're always learning and growing, even if it doesn't look like it.

Nicholas was a fan of Billie since Ocean Eyes. He eventually reached out to congratulate her on making it big, and give her a heads up on what to expectation versus reality on the spot light. He told her to reach out if she ever needed anything or just to talk to him.

Surprisingly, Billie reached out very randomly and just needed to rant. She claimed it felt "better to rant to someone not in the situation because then they wouldn't be biased." She was right. Nicholas was able to give her multiple perspectives on what she was going through while coming to a conclusion on how she felt. They've been friends since.

Nicholas kind of adopted Billie and now they have a great friendship. Unfortunately, there are some people who think it's creepy for Nicholas to be friends with Billie and continuously express that. It doesn't stop Billie from posting about Nicholas being a dumbass. "It's moments like this where I question your logic. Cause what made you think that was a good idea?"

Bonus: Billie is aware of some of Nicholas's trauma thanks to the few videos he's done on them, but she wants, and is waiting, for him to tell her himself.

I'm Not Fighting You, But She'll Do It For Me

Unsurprisingly, Megan is the one who introduced them to each other. She wanted to know if the three of them could do a collab. Unfortunately, JYP didn't approve of this so the idea was scrapped. But that didn't stop Cardi and Nicholas from keeping in touch.

The feud between Cardi and Nicki started the distance between Nicholas and Nicki. Nicholas knows the Barbz, or Nicki's fans, started the feud but it irritated him that the two continued it. He, of course, never spoke on it no matter how many times people asked about it. Nicholas's continuous stance of staying indifferent in the situation, even though he knew Nicki before Cardi, is also what pulled her further into nurturing him.

Shortly, after Nicholas and Nicki had a fall out, Cardi stepped in to help take care of him. When Nicki stopped checking in, Cardi checked in. When Nicki stopped responding, Cardi would respond and constantly reach out. "Listen, you ain't gotta worry about her no more, aight? Ima look out for you."

Bonus: Cardi made sure she told Nicholas about her pregnancy with Wave (her son) before he found about the news. She said it made it more special to hear it from the momma rather than some news person.

The Funniest and The Hottest

Nicholas is known by American Stays to say Coco Jones quotes. There are so many compilations of him quoting other famous people and eventually it got onto Coco's feed. She tweeted a clip of him quoting her word for word with a goofy look and all.

Their friendship isn't really known because they don't interact in public. With them living on different sides of the planet, the time zones, and the lack of interaction on the internet, it's not a easy thing to point out.

They're such bad influences on each other. Stay already knew Nicholas was a goofball, but when he met Coco and they did video collabs together with Terrell, everyone realized Nicholas was a idiot who needed to be protected at all costs.

Bonus: They communicate through memes and TikTok, which is amusing to the boys. Their whole message feed thingy is filled with pictures and videos.

Tall & Lean and Short & Slim

Ironically, Nicholas learned about her through TikTok because of her song Ick. He played the song in front of his father, and the man was disgusted that this was the music his son was listening to. For the whole time he visited his family, Nicholas had the song on repeat.

Nicholas sent Lay a DM to thank her for helping him piss his parents off. After explaining what happened after a very confused response from her, she found the situation hilarious and posted about it while making sure to keep his identity hidden.

If you thought people went crazy about Nicholas and Billie, imagine their reaction to his friendship with a 19 year old. After this Nicholas just kind of adopted Lay and added her to his list of adoptive children. It only consists of Billie and Lay, but it's the fact he has "kids" that leaves him tickled.

They're is a time difference so they kind of just spam each other and wait for the other to reply. Usually, Nicholas is up late so it means he can respond when Lay is getting up in the morning.

Bonus: Nicholas got Lay to help prank Chan by using a voice effect that made her sound like a kid. It went something along the lines of him telling Chan he needed help keeping his kid hidden with Chan being confused on when Nicholas had time to actually have a child without him knowing.

High Life:

One life. Eighteen players, eighteen penthouses. One city

At the beginning of the season, they are randomly assigned a character backstory and motive to kill. No one is allowed to know their motive, but they must use their backstory to craft a character they will play as

For the first three sessions, they will interact with the other players, making friends and enemies in a fully fleshed out city map. The first two hours are dedicated to socializing in places like the penthouses, clubs, libraries, etc., similar to the Sims

In the final hour, everyone meets at “The Tower”, a large skyscraper in the center of the city hosting a casino. While none of these locations actually serve a purpose, the goal is to get as many people in a confined space as possible—not only creating tensions as enemies are forced to interact, but to establish future opportunities for murder

At the very end of the third session, players are forced to “lock in” who they will be targeting for the foreseeable future. Alliances really help in this situation; the less enemies they’ve made, the less someone will be likely to target them

They must also take into consideration their character’s assigned motivations and how easy the killing will be; an ally that trusts them would be easy to lure away and kill, but might not make sense for their character. Killing an enemy would raise suspicion. If they kill too early, the target won’t have any content for the series. If their target does not die in the next two sessions, they die instead. When their target does die, by their hand or another’s, they must lock in yet another person

Come session four, everything runs as normal… but now murder is allowed. Players can corner, lure, sabotage, or outright kill their targets by any means possible, whether it’s pushing someone off of a rooftop dinner party or inviting the target to their penthouse. If they are spotted committing the murder by another player, they will die. Death messages are turned off in chat so they cannot be caught unless someone actually watches it happen

As people work to kill their targets, they still must meet in “The Tower”. Less and less people show up each time, confirming who has and has not died. Accusations can run rampant, and tensions raise even higher. Like in a certain hit game, players will vote on the accused and who they killed. Correct guesses will have the suspect killed, otherwise nothing will happen

The last two people standing, however long that takes, will fight to the death at the top of “The Tower”. The ghosts of the targets they’ve killed will assign them handicaps (ex. no armor or weapons) while the rest of the spectators can give them minor buffs (ex. one second regen at half health). The more people you’ve hurt, the harder it will be to win

Oh yeah, they also must wear fancy suits/dresses the entire time :)

We all know that it is not illegal to like someone in this world, even if you already have a family: wife, husband and children. The focus is on exercising the right to legitimate friendship within the limits permitted by morality and conscience. And you have to know how to choose an "upright and mature friends" who will not interfere with your married life, but can give each other growth and help. However, I believe that there are very few people who can meet such conditions. lol (It's no joke if you have deep contact with more people than you have piled sand. XD)

Recently, there have been a few good friends who have interacted with me on Tumblr for more than a year, or even longer. I am not entirely aware of your other sideblogs, especially young guys asking to see my photos, and of course they're not asking for photos of me wearing clothes… ha! Absolutely impossible. 🙄😅 In fact, my personal social experienced has made me a very tolerant old woman. It's not saying this myself. You have to actually get along with me to know that because they are similar in age to my son and daughter, so I cherish their friendship even more, especially the beautiful life still longer for them. The Chinese call it: "忘年之交" (the mean similar that : get on like a house on fire "see eye to eye with someone", when your friendship between different generations. also much older than my age friends as same meanings. )

Again, I don't set to make many friends on Tumblr here, and there're very few people I interact with. The number of people we sent private messages to was probably less than the number of times I go to a bar to drink in a month. lol The posts I share here are almost like writing a diary every day and records of my recent study of various majors. It is not for popularity, nor does it want to attract attention. Of course, except for the posts showing my leather art creations, the craftsmanship is my Most of the motivation to stay alive and rest of life.

Usually I don't have ideas about personal photos gonna send to you via private message for "friendship", it with "lover" very different to me. Just like now, when you randomly see a post by me and can put a smiling on your face, this is a beautiful friendship. If you happen to see it, it's fine when you don't like it. You don't need to use too much emotions. if that way Oftenly one party will be hurt, and time will tell everything about the feelings you hold in your heart, whether you believe it or not.

3. All-time favorite pairing?

Hmmm, good question. Probable Tidus/Yuna from FFX? I absolutely ADORE their relationship. It felt very natural, it was touching, and thinking about some of their scenes is giving me the chill. So often in media I feel like a relationship is rushed or stilted or like one of the characters is bent out of shape solely for the sake of romance, but not with them. They bring out the best in each other, and what I find so important is the fact that even though their love/relationship DOE make them reconsider some choices...they don't throw everything away for that. I think their relationship and interactions lead to cases in which their eyes are opened and they undergo some change, but what's important is that they're not changing for the other person. The other person gives them a new perspective that allows them to grow.

FFX is interesting to me because even though I don't know it like the back of my hand as I do with FFVII (or once did, it's been a while), so many of the scenes and messages have stuck with me a decade and a few playthroughs later. The Sending and this scene are some of my all time favorites in gaming. They're just so in love.

I know I'm being a bit vague, but I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't played FFX. Though if you haven't played FFX, DO NOT WATCH THAT VIDEO. The video has spoilers even if my commentary (hopefully) does not.

(Also, I'll have you know Estimeric is definitely up there as it's the pairing I've written the most for and one I've spent sooo much time thinking about, but Tidus/Yuna wins out because I think it's impacted me more as a person, or stuck with me longer. Estimeric is lovely, but Tidus/Yuna is precious. That may or may not make sense, but they occupy different spots in my brain, basically.)

5. Favorite platonic pairing?

Right now I'm super into Devil May Cry so I'm going to go with Dante/Lady. I feel like those two would do basically anything for the other, and I really enjoy when you can get a long term friendship between a male and female character that's just that. Sometimes I'll ship it and I've enjoyed ship content between the two, but I really prefer them as platonic partners. Or sometimes FWB without romantic attachment, which I clarify because I've always thought of "platonic" as meaning non-romantic but apparently it means non-sexual, which leads to some conversations about the conflation between romantic and sexual attraction but I digress. Usually I like them as just friends. The FWB is actually more like a HC of two people who slept with each other once (and only once) when they were young to see what it was like and then decided that nah, they're not really into that, they're better off as friends and they'll stay friends, no hard feelings, so they do.

14. Fandom you keep returning to?

Final Fantasy VII! I was absolutely obsessed with it when I was 13-14 (maybe up to 15), and every few years I go through a phase where I feel like that obsession has woken back up.

Funnily enough, I've never really shared anything I've made for the FFVII fandom. I've written so much fic over the years- the first fic I can remember writing was a 38k word time travel fic about FFVII when I was 14ish- but I've never posted any of it. I ran a FFVII blog for years, but it's on another email and eventually it got so inconvenient to access that I kind of let it die. The remake coming out has helped somewhat, but other times I'll just randomly feel like I want to play FFVII or want to read FFVII fic or look at FFIVI art or watch FFVII videos etc. and so I come crawling back.

Thank you so much for your asks! Fun to think about these things and what my favorites are. Honestly one of the biggest things this game has revealed is that I don't really have a lot of hard/firm feelings on things. I'm very indecisive and choosing favorites is hard, but it's nice to be reminded of all the things I love as I try to come up with my answers :)

I want to start a BACC save. What do you personally do with townies when you start? The rules aren't really clear on what to do. They say unlock the ability to talk to them, but also you have to get rid of all the lots. I don't want them interacting with my sims so I think of deleting them but they're gonna keep spawning randomly. You are planning on fully filling your BACC saves with your own sims as you go right? Cause I think I might do that if I can. Or just keep a few ones. Or place my own.

I delete everyone and everything, starting completely from scratch with only my sims. For ease, I'll usually download the latest version of Srsly's Blank Save, just make sure the save name is different if you have other blank saves in your game so you don't overwrite anything!

As for townies that generate randomly, I used to have some mods that prevented that from happening altogether, but they broke a while back and have never worked for me since. I usually just periodically delete those sims from my save every time I remember to do it, and the rest of the time I ignore them. The "Just Go Away!" interaction is my best friend in this case.

But yes, I play differently from most BACC players by not allowing townies in my game at all, only my played sims. One day in the distant future I intend to have 100 families all made up of babies born in-game and CAS Point sims that I've earned.

I confess I am still struggling to follow this advice on many days when I get the intrusive feeling that it is ridiculous and borderline rude of me to try to contribute anything to the amazing body of work that the Thunderfam has produced… and is still producing… and I feel that everything I think of has been done already and SO MUCH BETTER or maybe I should just put the idea out there for someone to do a better job with? I dunno…

But borrowed wisdom says something to the effect of…

Nobody else can tell your story the way you can.

And also

More fic is always good fic.

So I’m trying my best to believe that and think everyone else should too.

Also… and this might be just the unique and irritating way my brain works but in case anyone else does the same… it takes deliberate effort to remember that number of notes doesn’t *necessarily* correlate with whether a piece of work has merit. I’m a data nerd and I can’t help tracking it (I’ve tried but I do it anyway) and it’s really easy to get in a stew of “person x who I respect didn’t interact so they must hate it, I should give up” or “wow, I was really proud of that chapter but it got fewer likes than the others… is my judgment totally off?” Sometimes people just don’t see things (yay tumblr) or they are busy and mean to come back to it and don’t get around to it. Maybe there are people who enjoy it but just don’t do likes or reblogs on everything… or maybe they didn’t like it as much but that doesn’t matter. If I did… it’s valid. Doing this for fun not approval, right?

Just write the words. You can play with them later, post them, or not. But if an idea comes write it down because it’s good for you.

Also, randomly message people who seem interested and ask them to read things through for you… I’ve been really surprised by how many lovely people actually enjoy this and want to chat ideas 🥰 dunno if this is universal but the Thunderfam is very friendly and supportive!

i'm trying to write a modern setting au, but am having trouble thinking of things they can do for scene ideas. my own life is pretty monotonous - work, grocery shopping, occasionally a club or bar. do you have any ideas for interesting things friends can do in a basic, normal modern setting? or at least, things that may help me come up with ideas? thanks for all of your hard work <3

Love this! It can be hard to think of things to do with friends normally, let alone what to have your characters do when anything is possible. We'd recommend looking online for things to do with friends -- weirdly enough, some of the best things we've been able to find were in short clips on TikTok that detail possible events and experiences. Here are some of our favorites we've been able to find:

Go to a bookshop with a group, pair up, then each person selects three books: the first is one that the person would like the other to read because they love it and they feel like it embodies their personality and reading tastes, the second encapsulates the taste of their partner that they think they'll absolutely love, and the third book is the same so the partners can buddy read

Create a blended Spotify playlist with the group, press shuffle, then try to guess whose song it is; if you get it wrong, < insert penalty here >

Have a rainbow picnic in the park where each person brings an item of each color in the rainbow (red, orange, yellow, etc.)

Have a fake family dinner wherein everyone is given a character (ones you'd normally find at a family dinner like a nerdy uncle, a rebellious teen, etc.) a month in advance -- they then have to arrive dressed and completely immersed in their randomly assigned character; their backstories can be prepared by a single person in advance or it can be left up to each individual to develop on their own. What's important to remember is to print out a family tree and post it on the wall so everyone can remember one another's relations -- it would be weird if you forgot your own grandfather, right?

Go on an annual retreat wherein your group focuses on solely celebrating one another through activities, like talking, cooking, singing, dancing, etc. -- it's a practice of grounding and presence, but it can also be a great exercise to see how your characters would choose to interact in a setting that purposely doesn't have a structure aside from, well, avoiding a structure

Host a presentation night wherein each member of the group has to present where they think the group should go on their annual vacation (extra points for locations that seem impossible yet are actually possible, like walking to Mount Doom or standing in the field on the Windows Desktop image)

Invite everyone over for a pasta dinner party in which everyone needs to bring a different sauce (the host makes all the pasta) -- the best one wins overall and the worst one has to be the host next time

Have a movie night, but make it immersive! Have the group go to one friend's place -- there, a selection of movies on streaming services should be available, a concession stand should have candy and popcorn, and the host can even have a flashlight during the movie to shine in people's faces if they get too rowdy

Because Who Can I Talk To...

This post has so much potential to be cringe a year from now. Shit even months from now. I need it out of my head though

A friend of mine joked about setting me up with her friend. We met but I didnt really make a move. Too shy. She's cute though. Nice, smart, witty. It became a bit that I thought was still funny despite nothing really coming of it.

We eventually followed each other on instagram, which is good but my friend isn't riffing the bit anymore. A mutual of ours is communicating with me more often than before. Energy is weird but I'm not trying to look into it. Come to find out she likes me and I can't help but feel like thats why my friend stopped riffing the bit and advocating for me/us.

Despite that, the girl and I are kind of... idk playing tennis. Maybe fishing?! Idk the proper analogy. We are posting things kind of trying to bait the other person into interacting with it. I shouldn't say we... EYE, 100% am and she did at least once. Eventually a real conversation starts between us and it's like... legit awesome. Like she's so cool, and we've been thru some similar shit and look at the world in a similar way. I make points and she responds basically finishing my thoughts. Im like wooow we have so much in common. It excites me in a way that I haven't been excited in a LONG time. I think I'm crushing on her now... I can't wait for her to come into town.

She comes into town and I get no sleep the night before. I'm running on fumes. I have no energy to talk to her, to be charming or funny. I'm just listening and yawning a lot. I got her cookies... didnt even present them forreal. She was here for a week and that was the only day I saw her. At this point I'm FUCKING SICK. It's another display of how my friend is no longer trying to help out because she didnt try to set me up with some hangouts. Doubts about her interest because if she was hoping to see me, again you'd think the friend would hit me about plans or invite me over. I dont take initiative. Don't want to be too thirsty. I hold my L and get kinda sad because I like the feeling. I like talking to her, but it's over...

Until... the day after she gets back home, she messages me randomly about One Piece. I'm hype af. She thanks me for cookies, I apologize for zombie. We're talking again. And talking a lot. We are in constant communication. We message everyday. It's not a constant flow but it's fairly steady. We go like this for like a month and some. She's my favorite notification. I look forward to her responses and suddenly they stop. Not all together. The frequency though. A few messages a day to one a day. Now the response coming a full day or two later. Which would be completely fine if like... I didnt see she's been active mad times or when I see her message elsewhere. I'm not mad, but it makes me think.

We aren't anything. She owes me nothing. I like talking to her. Do I like her? I don't have an answer. The level of bothered I am, would imply I do, but it could just be the engagement. The attention. The fact that she activates something in my brain that hasn't been safely activated in over a decade. I don't say this to minimize her impact. I genuinely think she's special. She told me some of her story and I just wanna protect her at all costs even though we're probably not that close. I think she's great but I also still don't know her. We have yet to find a comfortable real life flow. We have yet to establish any sort of chemistry. So it's like cool, yeah we can text and send paragraphs to each other, but can we hold a conversation. Can we go back and forth without prep time?! Until we can properly test those waters, on the phone or IRL then I can't fully say I like her. Just that I like messaging her.

The problem is... does she like me?! Does she like messaging me?! Did her life get busier?! Am I boring?! I don't know how she feels about it. I try to sneak in things in the convo to like indicate I think highly of her, but I get no read on that the other way around. My friend no longer asks about it, or riffs the bit. No convo about us. Its triggering. I was often left on unopened while my friend was texting the girl I liked right in front of me. Her excuse was "oh me and him aren't having deep convo so it's easy to message back. me and you are having more in-depth convo so it requires more thought out answers." The truth was, she was fucking him and they were both hiding it from me and thus TRAUMATIZED. She can do what she wants. She can have a guy in MD, or a guy in her DMs. Again, we aren't anything, but I'd hate to get my hopes up again, just to be being placed on the back burner while she's got other stuff going on. Shits embarrassing. It's easy to feel like a loser and shit.

And so I am at an impasse. I can't be emotional about this. I can't ask for more messages, but I do want more. I want to explore what we could be, even if it's just friends. Just so I can like know its just friends. I want to talk on the phone or play a game where we can use out voices to connect instead of seining one big message a day. How can I do that?! I want to let her know I think she's dope, and I have but she's just kinda been whatever about it. Maybe thats my answer I should probably take that as an answer. I'M JUST TIRED OF HAVING TO PLAY IT COOL. I want to talk about it with somebody that can help me. I wanna be excited about the potential. I wanna laugh with her and learn more about her. I want her to know I think she's cool and I wanna talk about the future together. I wanna do things to connect with her and show her I think she's cool. But then im overbearing. I'm thirsty. I'm doing too much. Scare her away. if she's got another dude she's talking to, im humiliating myself.

I basically wanna embrace that side of life. Intimacy and romance. Connection. I wanna show her my interest and feel her interest. The push and pull. It was cool when we were playing tennis. It was amazing to go back and forth. Idk what to do. I kinda wanna end the convo and she what'll happen. But what if I just hurt my own feelings. How do I pivot the convo we have right now?! I don't know. I've gone crazy and I hate it here lmao.

Anyways, this girls cool and pretty and I wanna get to known her better like talk more intimately and frequently but I don't know if I will or if she even cares to... but I just wish I could be blunt about this thought/feeling. Who know's what'll happen next.

I NEED TO RANT ABT MTGA

magic the gathering arena is probably the WORST way to play magic, for 1 reason. the fact that the only way to interact with your opponent is with a set of both highly infuriating and highly limited emojis and pre written lines makes the play experience so toxic. i just played a game where my opponent used the "your go" line at me, (one commonly used for bm) WHILE I WAS TAKING MY MULLIGAN. which is insane! the fact that you cannot talk to your opponent while your playing completely removes the community aspect of the game, one of my favourite parts. it turns your opponent into someone who, instead of being a person you can talk to and joke with and have a relationship with into a pre selected profile picture of one of magics big characters thats only motivation that you can feel is to both mess with your game plan and make you lose. which of course is what they are supposed to do, but when you remove that part of that where you can easily recognise and remember that you are playing against a real human being who also wants to win the game is when you make a toxic community who spams emotes to bm, ropes out there opponents when they lose and creates disdain for core parts of the game (like any decklist other than a midrange one). and if the concern is that ppl will be more toxic if they can actually talk, make it optional! use the system that chess.com uses, where once the first message is sent the reciever has to opt in, and then make it so that they can opt out at any time!!

ALSO because i want to be able to meet new people when im playing the game! the fact that i see someone with the most swagtastical list ive ever laid my eyes on and then i can even say that i like it without coming off as a sarcastic pos because the only piece of interaction i have is saying "nice!" and i cant even see the full list! OR when my opponent makes a misplay i want to be able to explain it to them if their confused! because the client sure as hell doesnt. my opponent who hit my with the "your go" when i was in mulligans tried to re-adapt a creature and i want to explain why that doesnt work! they were also literally tapping their lands seemingly randomly! i want to know what they are trying to do so i can help them! i want to make it so they enjoy playing this game that i love! i dont like seeing someone sacrifice their last 2 creatures (one of which had death touch) to my annhilator trigger because they either dont know they can sac their lands or dont understand that they should. sorry for going crazy mode i just think that this is something abt MTGA which i dont see ppl talking about and it really yurks my urk ifywim.

ALSO i will not be buying any emotes and the friendlist system on MTGA is probably only beaten out by the EA friending systems in the competition of least functional thing made by a large company

Rules and other things

This page is for my rules and policies.  Rules are mostly what I expect out of you.  Policies are things I do personally when it comes to roleplaying and running this tumblr account.  I know it’s a bit long and intimidating, but I promise it’s not as bad as it looks and I’m not like super strict about these or anything!  Most of these are just the same rules most roleplayers follow.

I do not expect anyone to remember these rules 100 percent forever.  There are a lot of them here, and I know when you RP with a lot of people it can be difficult to remember everyone’s rules.  I do appreciate you taking the time to read them and I do hope for some understanding of them upon initial contact.

Rules:

1. If you want to RP with me, just send me a message!  I’d appreciate it if you told me a bit about your muse (This can include sending a link to your about page), a bit about yourself and make sure to mention you are interested in roleplaying!  I’ll make sure to read your rules before responding.

2. I’m selective, but not mutual exclusive.  I know side blogs exist and all that, plus I don’t always see new followers.

3. Please do not force ships to happen.  I prefer for them to happen naturally.

4. No godmodding without talking to me first.  I know sometimes this kind of thing just sort of has to happen, but I would prefer we talk about it first.

5. I don’t mind a little bit of spelling and grammar misuse, but please try your best to use proper spelling and grammar

6. I generally prefer to stick to the Doctor’s cannon past.  Not a big fan of long lost wife/husband plots or things like that.

7. Please remind me about threads if I don’t get to them within 1 week.  This one is important because I do sometimes miss notifications from Tumblr regarding threads and although I do have a thread tracker, I only actually double check to make sure I’ve replied to everything once every two weeks or so.  The main except for this would be of course if I’m on a temporary hiatus, which I track here.  

8. I’m perfectly fine dropping threads as needed or as desired, but please message me to let me know so that I can remove it from my thread tracker!

9. There are occasionally mature themes on this blog.   I only RP with people who are 18+.  I will check your profile for this and ask if it’s not there.

10. I prefer ask box for IC communication and fanmail/chat for OOC communication.  When we first start interacting, let me know if you check for your chat messages or not, since I’ve noticed some people don’t use them.

11.  I prefer roleplaying through threads and not asks.  What this means, is if you send me an ask, and we decide to turn it into an RP, I would prefer you reblogged my reply instead of sending a second ask.  I’m perfectly okay as well if you decide to make a text post with an ask instead, although please do not expect me to do such a thing since I’m a bit lazy and just reblogging the ask is so much easier.  I don’t notice much of a difference anyway.

12. Multi-muse accounts, I prefer to RP with one muse and stick to that muse through all roleplays.  Please don’t start changing muses on me because that gets confusing.  This also applies to blogs with different verses.  I do prefer to stick with the same verse most of the time to keep things from getting too confusing for me.  It also helps develop the relationship between muses more and I value that a lot.  I just feel like this leads to better stories.

13. I typically try to only follow people who are interested in RPing with me AND/OR Doctor Who related blogs.

14.  If you respond to a closed RP thread I have with someone else, I will probably block you.  There are no warnings.

15. If you spam up my inbox in an inappropriate matter (including but not limited to ads, anon hate, etc.) I can and will block you.

16. Feel free to message me anytime about anything.  If we are already RPing but for some reason your muse randomly feels like talking to mine or interacting, feel free to tag me in a starter or send something through ask.  Not feeling much muse, but you, the mun, are a bit bored and just want someone to talk to?  Feel free to send me a chat message.  I’m here to interact and I’d love to hear from you both IC and OOC.

17. Communication is key with me.  If I’m doing something that bothers you, let me know.  If you want to drop a thread or stop interaction, let me know.  If you want to start something new or different, let me know.  If you aren’t going to be on for a bit or want to respond to a certain start or post, let me know.  I am not a mind reader.  If you need something from me, please let me know.  

18. I generally avoid pregnancy threads.  I’ve got nothing against them except for the fact that they are way overdone and have become generally boring to me because of that.  It also just doesn’t seem like a situation Eleven would find himself in generally, especially given my headcannons for him.

19. When responding to my starter calls, please make sure I’m aware what muse and what blog the starter is for!  Goes especially for multimuse blogs and side blogs.

20. Please do not like my starter calls and/or send memes or send or do anything RP related with me if you are not a RP blog.  If you are a personal blog you are welcome to follow and read my RPs, and like those and reblog my other content but having personal blogs like my starter calls really just fills up my notifications and it’s a bit annoying.  If you want to RP and you are a personal blog, make sure you follow all my other rules and just send me a message.  If you are a personal blog and you have an RP side blog, that’s fine, just specify.  This rule isn’t intended at you.  I’ve had a lot of actual personal blogs like my starter calls lately with no intention of RP and I’m not going to have it.  This is a blockable offense.

21.  I do RP with multiples of the same muse and do not do exclusives.  If you want to make me your exclusive Eleventh Doctor, that’s fine, I don’t really mind (although I also would not encourage that because there’s a ton of other great Eleventh Doctors out there!) however I enjoy doing different threads and different relationships with muses that might be similar so I won’t be doing any exclusivity at all.

My Policies, about roleplaying with me and about how I run this tumblr:

1. I do tag triggers and I do tag nsfw content.  It’s all hidden under the tag “nsfw” (This does include blood, core, etc.).  I am not always the best about tagging other replies however.  I do not use a read more.

2. I track #TheDoctorNumber11, however if you tag me in something, I do prefer you also send me a link in a message in case it doesn’t show up.

3. I do regular reminder messages to let people know that they owe if they haven’t replied in a week or longer.  This usually happens on Saturdays, although can be as late as Sundays, once every two weeks and I try to only send two messages before I stop mentioning it in case the first message is missed.  Tumblr sometimes messes up notifications and all that.  If you do not want me to message you about threads, let me know!

4. I’m generally willing to RP with you at any point during the Doctor’s time line, but I usually prefer later in his time line.

5. This is not strictly a RP blog.  While it is an RP blog, I will reblog things that aren’t related to RP or Doctor Who occasionally and I do occasionally make ooc posts.  Some people are bothered by this.  I suggest not following if you don’t wish to see any ooc content.  I do try and tag it with “#notdoctorwho”.

6. I will sometimes reblog my own stuff at different hours of the day to make sure it’s seen.  This is usually stuff related to the blog and I try to make sure I tag it “#reblogging for emphasis” so you can filter it out as desired.

7. I do like to get to know people ooc while roleplaying and I try to communicate regularly.  I believe that communication between roleplay partners is vital, and you should expect chat messages from me occasionally just to say hello.

8. Slightly related to the above post, I’ll sometimes tag partners in pictures, gifs, images or video of their muses if I happen to see such things while browsing tumblr.  Just kind of my way of showing I care I suppose?  Anyway, if this annoys you, let me know and I’ll stop.

9. I do have a job, so my work schedule sometimes makes replies difficult.  I generally try to get at least one reply to every thread every week (Usually two or three times a week), using the queue.

10.  Just because my tumblr is posting things doesn’t mean I’m online.  I schedule posts and use my queue a LOT and you should expect that I may not be online a lot.

11.  Please, never worry about length when RPing with me.  I promise I won’t judge you for it.  Right off the bat, I know my replies won’t always meet your’s in length.  Sometimes mine might be longer.  Sometimes it might be shorter.  It all depends on my mood and what makes sense with what’s going on in the thread.  Sometimes you’ll get a really long reply from me, but then your next reply from me will be really short.  Sometimes it’s the other way around.  I don’t expect you to match me, and you probably shouldn’t expect me to try and match you.  Length is irrelevant, it’s the quality of the reply that matters, and sometimes a short reply can get more across than a longer one might.  So I will not expect a specific length of reply out of you at any given point, and you probably shouldn’t expect a certain length of reply from me.

12. I know this might seem a bit odd to place here, but I’m just letting everyone know, that sometimes the Doctor does find things a bit hard to believe.  Whenever he runs into something magical or fantasy, or something he doesn’t think should exist, he generally tends to think it’s caused by an alien.  This is because he’s so used to alien encounters.  So if your muse is a vampire or a ghost or something, and he accuses them of being an alien, please don’t be offended.  It doesn’t mean that I as the mun think your muse is an alien.  I’m totally accepting of all muses and all creatures and all things in RP, but the Doctor isn’t always as accepting of magic and stuff like that, and will usually think it’s some kind of alien technology.

13. I mentioned this in my rules and I want to mention it again here, I do RP with people who play the same muses.  I won’t drop you if you decide to RP with other Elevens.  I’ve seen a few people mentioning this type of thing in their rules lately, and I’m really not picky.  This includes stuff outside the Doctor Who fandom as well.  For example, I may decide to RP with multiple people who play Little Mac from Nintendo.  If this is a problem, and you want your partners to be exclusive to your version of a muse, most likely it would be best we don’t interact.  Likewise, I don’t expect you to be exclusive to my Eleven and am perfectly fine (and encourage you) to RP with other Elevens besides just myself.  He’s a pretty cool character, and if I didn’t portray him, I certainly wouldn’t want to limit myself to just interacting with one Eleven.

14. I don’t expect reblog karma and in fact I kind of like when people reblog memes from me so I can see that they did and then send them the meme myself.  I also know it can be difficult to reblog from the source on mobile.  Likewise, I’m not always great about reblogging from the source when I’m on mobile myself.

16.  I do roleplay with multifandom OCs, Doctor Who OCs, crossovers with fandoms that I know or interest me and other Doctor Who muses including other people who play the Doctor.  In general I’m not very selective about what types of muses I interact with.  I do ask that I know a little bit about your muse before hand and if you do not have an about page, please do message me a bit about your muse when introducing yourself.

2023 wrap up ( thanks @spaceoperetta for the idea, hasn't even considered doing one!)

-very long, been a big year for me-

- also worst depression since college, but at least it's not the manic-depressive mixed state I was in for most of those 4 years

- BUT I also found the first ever antidepressant that works for me a couple months ago! I've been on a mood stabilizer that's "worked" for me for years in terms of controlling the hypomania, but I would still sink into low, low depressions. Now I just feel capable of happiness, but I need to rebuild those neural pathways since they haven't been used in so long

- my husband and I's relationship is much, much better. Once we moved things got really not great, and he is a lovely and great person but I think he'd never had to /actually/ deal with anything or question himself before and being in a new place, with someone holding him accountable, who wouldn't just ignore any of the ineffective things he was doing or any of the negative things occurring freaked him out a bunch, especially because he had no distress tolerance skills. I have my own stuff to work on too, but his refusal to accept what he doesn't understand really exacerbated my emotional reactivity and now I have to unlearn all of those habits.

- I found a therapist who works with my brain!

- my best friend moved to my city, and it was only supposed to be for like 10 months but she met her boyfriend and is blossoming and getting opportunities in her field like crazy so she's staying longer which means we can hang out more!

- knees got worse, but I finally went to physical therapy (because I maxed out my insurance OOP with the name other medical things I had to do this year) and it helped a bunch!

- a ton of drama with my husband's family. His youngest sister randomly decided that I am abusive (not even during like any interaction or anything, she just randomly started having an attitude with me 2 weeks before their annual (white, well-off people) family vacation), and then was cold to me during the vacation, and went on a walk with my husband where she essentially tried to convince him that I AM abusive. (Husband also handled it poorly - he's the "everyone is right in some way" type and didn't tell her she was completely out of line, but that has also gotten better thanks to couple's therapy). Then over Thanksgiving she decided to create drama with the older sister over her own poor behavior when older sister was doing absolutely nothing mean or wrong. It's been really stressful, we didn't even do a zoom call for Christmas this year which they normally try to make happen no matter what.

- I lost my job at a startup (blessing in disguise) and got a new job. The company is great, but I hate the work. It's not what I applied to do, it's way more technical and I would like that if ANYONE had the time to train me. But they lost a ton of people going from fully remote to hybrid, so everyone I work with has less experience than I do actually. I'm also struggling to do it because of how lost and flustered I feel.

- I picked up journaling and that's been so great and helpful.

- I went to Portland! I adored it very much. Though towards the end something about it felt vaguely threatening/heavy/scary. But I definitely want to visit again.

- I reconnected with my childhood best friend! We definitely grew in different ways but the foundation is still very much clicking. I'm going to stay with her and her husband in Seattle and visit again in May. She's so, so wonderful and I missed her so so much I'm tearing up writing this. We've continued to message frequently since, and once Baldur's Gate's cross play feature is out (fingers crossed) we're going to play together.

- I learned that stimulants don't work for my brain. ADHD stims caused anhedonia, coffee just triggers migraines, and Modafinil semi kinda maybe works but not well. I've managed to quit coffee for a week or so now. It's definitely an addiction. But chai tea lattes are filling the void. And the void also means that I'm getting back into tea! A childhood Internet friend is the one who got me into tea, and it feels very heartwarming to remember them through it.

- I lost my first cat together with my husband. You will be missed dearly forever, little man.

- I found my favorite d/ru/g! Technically I think it's 2-fdck that's my favorite favorite if my testing was correct, but basically ke/tam/ine and its analogues in general. It's so amazing and it checks all my boxes. I haven't personally experienced any negatives from it, though if you ever try it please read up on appropriate doseage, periods between use, and all that. It's helped me a ton with figuring stuff out, feeling motivated, and rewiring my brain. I'm weird and drugs have never worked the same for me as other people now have I ever had it impact my life negatively so please don't take my experience as advice or normal.

- I tripped for real for the first time in forever over Christmas break! My meds make it really, really difficult. Most people can't trip at all no matter how much they take on these meds. But I just kept raising my dose and bam, finally! I also had my first ever LSD epiphany and I feel like I can really move forward with my life. Tripping has also always helped my brain reset - like turning a computer off and on instead of just locking it or hibernating. I always feel so refreshed.

- I generally just feel more compassion for myself and more capable of being the person I want to be. Sometimes it hurts because it feels like I was on such a good trajectory, and then a ton of negative things happened to me with no support system and everything in my life just stopped. And then I was getting better and then COVID really broke me - at least when the bad stuff was happening I had stimulation, but COVID liked my brain. I think I still have it in me to be happy in the ways I want.

I hope we live in unprecedented times where history is made! Precedented times and the continuation of the normal just means the rich get richer and people die at the hands of oppressors. I hope things change for the better, greatly and permanently.
