So like, it's okay to be good and nobody is born evil and anyone can change the path they're on, yadda yadda yadda, but I actually think one of the biggest lessons Megamind learns over the course of the film is the shocking revelation that actions have consequences.

I'm not even kidding. When you put aside the whole 'evil' thing, one of Megamind's biggest flaws is his entirely screwed up notion of cause and effect.

Like, the whole reason the plot happens is because it apparently never occurred to Megamind that 'carrying out elaborate plots to kill Metroman' could ever result in 'dead Metroman'. Nor that creating a new hero with the specific motivation of defeating him, Megamind, could lead to negative consequences for him, Megamind. Or that riling said hero up into a murderous rage could have the unforeseen consequence of that hero raging around murderously.

Dude spent at least a few years kidnapping Roxanne, threatening her with alligators and lasers and various other villainous knick-knacks, only to disguise himself as somebody else and lie to her until she fell in love with this fake identity he'd created and is genuinely shocked when she is upset upon finding this out.

Not just that she did find out, but that post-her finding out he is unable to talk her into continuing the relationship.

Megamind may be a genius when it comes to inventions and evil plans, but he's a fucking idiot when it comes to predicting and anticipating the obvious results of his actions.

And thing is, it makes total sense why he would be like that.

He spent his childhood being consistently punished by the adults in his life, often for no reason that he could understand or even for no reason at all. As a result, he stops viewing punishment as a consequence of his behaviour and starts seeing it as a consequence of him being 'evil', which of course leads to him leaning into his evil persona and eventually becoming a supervillain.

And, as a supervillain, ironically enough, he's completely sheltered from consequence by his greatest enemy, Metroman.

Megamind doesn't need to worry about his evil plans hurting any citizens, because Metroman will use his powers to save them. Megamind doesn't have to worry about the damage he does to the city, because Metroman can fix it.

Megamind does in theory have to worry about social consequences for his behaviour, but the social consequences are being locked in prison and having everybody hate him which is like, the default status quo of his existence since he was a baby.

He literally calls the prison as 'home', a word he does not use to refer to his Evil Lair or indeed anywhere else in the film barring his home planet. Going there is an inconvenience, maybe, but it's not really a punishment. It's where he lives.

Metroman's 'death' changes all that.

Not only does one of Megamind's evil plans finally destroy something that (seemingly) can't be fixed, but he's then turned loose on the city with no superhero to run around after him cleaning up his mess.

Now, if he steals all the artwork in the gallery, then Metro City will no longer have artwork in it's gallery, and people (Roxanne) will miss it and be upset. If he doesn't take care to clean the streets then the streets… will be dirty, and people (Roxanne) will be negatively affected.

If he gives a random, unstable, person superpowers and then goes out of his way to piss that person off, then that person can't be guaranteed upon to “play the game” just because that's what Metroman did, and people (Megamind… then everybody else) will be negatively affected.

And the flipside of this is that, by the end of the film, he wins the battle because he realises "hey, I can change this". If his negative actions have negative consequences then he can choose to do the positive thing instead and save the city.

Prowl x Reader

• It’s pathetic how excited you get about the prospect of a car ride. Cooped up in his quarters long enough that when he asks if you’d like to go for a drive, you temporarily forget that you’re angry with him still. And he’s doesn’t complain when you play with his window controls, rolling it down and leaning an arm out so you can lay your cheek on it. Letting the wind whip your hair even though it’s stinging your face and neck and not caring at all.

• You look happy. Actually smiling as the wind tousles your hair and he tries to remember if you’ve ever smiled like that for him. Even when the two of you aren’t squabbling, your expression is never so relaxed and open. And you sit up when the city comes into view. “I thought you might need human things,” he lies as he idles down a street and parks, popping open the door for you. “You’re always complaining about the things you miss.” Shifting on his shocks, he feels you slide out of his seat, losing your warmth as you stand there, one hand still on him. Waiting for you to bolt like you’ve claimed you want to so many times.

• What’s his game now? Because this must be some kind of test. That or he’s just sick of dealing with you. “And you’re deciding to trust me for once?” You don’t buy it. He doesn’t trust anyone. Certainly not you. Hand lifting from Prowl, you back up a step. He’d parked just off the busier streets, the lot is mostly deserted and quiet. If you run, he’ll just transform and catch you. Probably scoff at you for being so gullible. Is this a new form of torture? Dangling freedom right in front of you and then snatching it away?

• “I trust you.” To run and disappear among the other humans without a backwards glance. Optimus is going to be angry with him, but he can’t even bring himself to care anymore. When had your happiness started mattering to him? “I’ll be right here.” Lying has always been so easy for him, learned early on that it was necessary sometimes to convince people to do the right thing. The best thing.

• Wrapping your arms around yourself, you turn and start walking. You listen for the sound of him transforming, for his engine to rev. Waiting for him to stop you as you step onto the busy corner and people look at you, then quickly away. Know you must look like you’re homeless at this point, unkempt and messy. Heart racing, you look back to make sure he’s still there and somehow a part of you isn’t surprised to find him gone. It’s not like he’d actually cared about you, but it still hurts a lot more than you would have imagined. He’d brought you back to where he’d stolen you from and left without even a goodbye. And you just stand there, staring at where he’d been. This is what you’d wanted, so why do you feel so hollow inside?

• It’s for the best for you. To be among your own. Happy. Even if he hates it, wants to destroy something, go pick a fight. Because you’re the only good thing he’d had and even you’d hated him, hadn’t you? Constantly fighting each other, like neither of you could stand to be happy. Or maybe it was really only him. Lashing out at him because he’d made you so miserable. Maybe you’re laughing now, head thrown back and free. Desperately wants that. For you to smile, because one of you should be happy.

I have some THOUGHTS. Fair warning, this post just might be 2k words of me putting all of those thoughts into actual words. Might not make any sense to anyone except me.

•After about two years of you being friends with them, they realize they have feelings for you. It’s stupid, since they come to the realization when you smile at them.

•You simply smile, and about half of them swoon, while the other half are better at keeping their composure. As soon as you exit the room, they all panic and face each other to talk it about.

•Hyunjin is frantic and clawing at his hair, because what the FUCK. You’re annoying! You have terrible taste in books with those smutty novels, and why are you always tripping on air?!? How do you manage? But like… He wants to be the one to catch you when you stumble.

•Felix kinda knew for a while. He always got butterflies when your hands accidentally brushed. But knowing that the others liked you too? Especially when he liked them as well? It really was what did him in.

•Jisung is a nervous wreck. He’s so worried that you’ll catch on that it makes it very obvious. He thinks you know, so he’s trying to act like he doesn’t know that you know, but what if that means that you know he knows that you know? And what if-

•Chan is oblivious. He doesn’t even understand what the group is talking about until someone asks him if he’s okay with a poly relationship. Then it all clicks, and damn, he likes you. And he likes them?!?

•Minho had been waiting for a while. He knew that the others liked you, and he didn’t really understand why. Then he got sick and you checked in on him by text every hour or so, and he found himself waiting for your message with a stupid smile on his face.

•Jeongin knew when he first met you that you were perfect. Your smile makes him weak in the knees and your laugh makes his heart flutter (it’s not a heart condition, he’s checked).

•Seungmin also didn’t like you at first. The others gave you so much attention when you weren’t anything special. You couldn’t sing as well as him, nor could you dance at his level. He spent months figuring out what was unique about you, only for you to surprise him with his favourite snack for no reason. Just to make him happy?

•Changbin gets all giggly when you talk to him. He can’t help it. He just hopes he’s subtle (he’s not) and spends as much time with you as he can, just because it makes him happy.

•You like them, but don’t ever expect the feelings to be returned.

•You’re sitting on the couch, minding your own business one day, when Seungmin stretches out next to you. You ignore him and keep your attention on your phone, fighting down the butterflies in your stomach when his thigh brushed against yours.

•“Practise done for the day?” You try your best to keep your voice steady, especially when his throat flexes as he listens.

•He grins, and those damn butterflies are fluttering around inside you with a vengeance. “All done. Do you wanna come eat with us?”

•You accept eagerly. The group goes to a small restaurant and shares a single table. It’s cramped and you’re constantly getting elbowed in the ribs, but you love it.

•Everyone serves each other, telling stories of their day. Hyunjin suddenly leans over and swipes his thumb over your bottom lip, making your breath hitch.

•“You had something there,” he says simply, returning to his food. One side of his lips quirk up and he raises an eyebrow. “What’s with the face?”

•You huff and pick up your utensils again, shaking your head. “Nothing.”

•And Chan insists on paying, going so far as to pin you to his chest with one arm, using the other to tap his card. He whispers into your ear, “Nice try.”

•You stumble away, smacking his arm. You hope it isn’t obvious how flustered you are.

•And they bring you back to the dorms with them for a movie night. There isn’t enough room in the van, since someone came separately in an Uber.

•You’re placed into Felix’s lap, whose hands come to your waist to keep you steady. When the car bumps, he pulls you flush to him, arms tight around your torso.

•A movie is carefully selected after about twenty minutes of arguing. Everyone settles into their spots and you curl into a blanket.

•Jeongin whines about how he’s cold, so you invite him under with you. He dives into the blankets and pulls them up to chin-level.

•Changbin gives you some of his popcorn, although he insists on feeding it to you. He says it’s so you don’t have to take your hands out from the blankets.

•Eventually you get tired, and fall asleep with your head on Jisung’s shoulder. His entire face turns red, but you’re asleep and don’t catch it.

•But the others do.

•Minho sighs and is the first to speak. “Let’s just get it over with. We all know Jisung will give it away.”

•Jisung splutters in outrage, but the others all mutter agreements. This is it. They’re finally going to do it.

•So when you blearily blink yourself awake, they’re all staring at you. You scream and scramble away, because what if they’re trying to kill you?!?

•Chan steps forward, clearing his throat. “We like you. In a uh- In a romantic way.”

•You just stare at him for a moment before slowly nodding. “Right. Okay.”

•They sigh, realizing you don’t believe them. They then spend the next entire five minutes convincing you that they actually like you.

•When you return the confession, they all breathe out a sigh of relief.

•Minho isn’t obvious about his feelings while inside the relationship. However, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t care. It just means he’s not in your face about it. He shows affection through actions rather than words.

•He slips your favourite candy bar into your lunch kit before you go off to work. He lets you do his makeup, even though he barely tolerates the staff touching his face.

•Changbin is all about physical touch. He’s constantly giving you hugs. Sometimes he’ll sneak up behind you and throw you over his shoulder, only letting you go if you promise to give him a kiss.

•Or sometimes he’ll take someone else hostage, ransoming them off for an extra long cuddle session, or for you to sit on his lap while he works.

•Jisung is the needy boyfriend. We all know it. He’s affectionate and clingy, and oh-so-sweet. He’s always following after you or texting you at random times to get your opinion on a new shade of nail polish.

•Then he listens to your day as he paints your nails, humming along and gasping at the appropriate times.

•Felix sends you random pictures of himself. It’ll be him making a funny face, or a heart with his hands, or sometimes a mirror reflection with his sweatpants pulled down slightly while he’s not wearing a shirt.

•And whenever you send a silly face back, he saves it to his camera roll. He has a whole album dedicated to you.

•Seungmin adores being told how much you care about him. Sometimes the media overlooks him (a crime) and whenever you tell him how much he means to you, it melts his heart.

•Like if you turn to him on a random Tuesday and say that you love him, he’ll come close to crying. This man is in love with being loved.

•Hyunjin paints you. He’ll have you pose for him and will spend hours painting you. (You get tired of sitting there after about two minutes so he has a picture of you in the position he wants)

•He’s so shy about his work, but once everyone tells him how much he loves it, he hangs it on the walls. There’s a whole section of the house dedicated to his paintings.

This is my first ever tumblr blog post. I was planning on just lurking forever.

But I am remarkably autistic about this and need to vomit it SOMEWHERE. So you're getting it.

Now, I originally was planning on banishing Caleb to the shadow realm because I thought that him being basically our brother and then becoming a love interest was WEIRD.

But then he came out, and I read his stories, and now he's one of my favorites.

Caleb is toxic in a way that is so interesting that it makes me want to put him in a jar and study him. What makes me most engaged is that he isn't beyond reason or redemption; he has the potential to correct these unhealthy behaviors given enough time and space.

His obsession with MC is prevalent and deeply concerning; he doesn't trust her to protect herself, he is willing to brutally kill anyone who hurts her, he wants to 'exist in a world where it's just the two of us'... but it comes from a place of such genuine fear and care that it makes one hesitate to call him a bad person. He is not wrong in constantly being worried for MC's safety, she is quite literally being targeted by people who want to experiment on her, but he goes about it in a way that denies her autonomy. Caleb is ruled by his fear and obsessive devotion to her to the point that he is willing to do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

He was willing to stay as far away as possible after the explosion and subsequent his involvement with Ever, because he knew that she would be safest at a distance. But once she found her way in? The only way to ensure her safety is to keep her glued to his side.

Caleb and MC are codependent. They feel like they would lose themselves should they lose the other. Now, I admit that Caleb is definitely the more dependent one and has been for a long time. Caleb has an aggressive need to be needed, specifically by MC. He needs her, so he wants her to need him. I'd argue that's something that comes from the fear; he wants that reassurance that she'll never leave him behind. But since the reunion, MC has definitely been tightening her grip on him in return. She lost him once, she can't lose him again.

However, when it comes to Caleb's controlling tendencies, MC does not up with his bullshit; she will not forced to passively wait until it's safe. No, she will FIGHT. Caleb argues with her on this, but he can and has been swayed to back off.

However, he does relapse. I mean, it's hard not to do when your worst fears are being validated day in and day out. He has a fundamental belief that he must be MC's protector, that she needs his help in order to stay safe. He wants to trust in her, but that nagging voice in the back of his head keeps going 'You have to intervene. You have to keep her out of this. It's the only way you're going to know that she's safe,'. MC is a damsel in distress, and he is the only one who can save her.

The chip that's implanted in him only enhances his toxic traits. During his bond story, he acknowledges his selfishness when MC calls him out, and even states that he's trying to let go of his obsessive tendencies. He wants to have a healthier way to go about things. The chip made him go back on his progress, but he's still able to see reason.

Caleb and MC are going to be in each other's lives no matter what, either as friends or lovers, and their dynamic is on very shaky ground. But there's hope.

It's that hope for a healthier relationship that makes them so utterly devastating to me. Watching their ups and downs happen is an emotional rollercoaster. The conflict also gives the relationship somewhere to go, story wise, that's engaging.

tl;dr, Caleb has toxic behaviors and has done harmful things to MC, but he's not beyond redemption.

Rurouni, you’re absolutely right that a person’s identity shouldn’t be revoked for bad behaviour. Moonyinpisces is a nonbinary lesbian. But I think you’re missing some context here.

The problem is not Moonyinpisces’s headcanons or opinions as a queer person, or even that they were just shitty with expressing their opinions. The problem is she was using her influence to actively bully her fellow queer fans and shame other queer fans’ ways of relating to the characters.

I get that in isolation the post that kicked this discussion off may look a little obscure. It’s not just about headcanons. This isn’t just a “bad-faith reading of some bitchy fandom posts.” Please refer to @fakefakelove and this post to get a better sense of how deep Moonyinpisces’s bullying behaviour goes, and why people are upset and hurt. Sonic was feeling annoyed and frustrated as he watched you yet again interacting with someone else…this time with his "rival", Shadow. It was almost like you were avoiding him…no…YOU WERE avoiding him. Every time he tried to approach you you would find a way to avoid talking to him, and it was starting to drive him crazy.

Sonic sat on the sidelines, fuming with jealousy as he watched you and Shadow converse, their body language and the way they spoke making it clear that they were quite comfortable with each other. Sonic's eyes darted back and forth between them, trying to catch any hint of something more than just friendly banter.

And then you laughed at something Shadow said, a genuine, carefree laugh that echoed through Sonic's ears like a sharp pang in his heart. He gritted his teeth, his hands clenching into fists. He was used to being the one to make her laugh, not Shadow…never Shadow.

As the conversation came to an end and Shadow walked away, Sonic found himself unable to hold back his anger any longer. He stormed over to where you were standing, seething with jealousy and confusion. He stopped in front of you, his emerald eyes blazing with a mix of annoyance and hurt. "Why are you avoiding me?" Sonic demanded, his voice betraying a hint of desperation.

You looked at him, taken aback by his confrontational tone. "What…?" you said, your expression puzzled. "I'm not avoiding you." Sonic bristled at the denial. "Don't lie to me. Everywhere I go, you're always there with everyone BUT me. What's going on?" He took a step closer, his gaze fixed on you intense and searching.

You took a step back, feeling uncomfortable with Sonic's aggressive demeanor. "I don't know what you're talking about…" you said, your voice wavering slightly. Sonic's eyes narrowed, not believing your words for a second. "Oh really?" he said sarcastically. "Then why is it that every time I try to talk to you, you manage to slip away right before I can even get a word in?"

You swallowed feeling scared "it's just you're weird" you spoked with fear "you're acting weird lately" Sonic recoiled as if he had been slapped. "Weird? I'm acting weird? That's rich coming from you." He crossed his arms, his annoyance only growing more intense. "I'm not the one who's been avoiding me like the plague. You act like you don't even know me anymore!" "i did at first…but then you changed,you keep..following me…and you try to push everywone away from me Sonic"

Sonic's eyes went wide with surprise at your words. "What?!? I-I'm not trying to push anyone away from you! I just…I just-" He found himself at a loss for words, unable to refute your claim. Had he really been acting that way? He thought he had just been trying to be closer to you…

Sonic's mind raced, trying to justify his actions. "I just…I just care about you okay? Is that so wrong? To want to spend time with the person I care about?" He felt something unfamiliar welling up inside him - something akin to desperation.

"Not if you keep following me,pushing people away" you spoke with determination "you ARE a stalker Sonic,don't try to deny it"

Sonic tried to protest, but the words died on his lips. You had him there. He had been following you like a shadow, watching your every move, and pushing away anyone who dared to get too close to you. He took a step back, his shoulders sagging as he finally admitted to himself…he was stalking you.

He felt ashamed and embarrassed, unable to meet her gaze. "I…I guess I have been acting like a stalker" he admitted quietly. "But…but it's just because I care about you! I don't want anyone else to be close to you…I want you all to myself…"

You looked at him, your expression a mix of pity and anger. You had suspected that Sonic had some…unhealthy feelings towards you, but you had never thought it would get this bad. "Sonic…you can't just follow me around and push away everyone else in my life. That's not love, that's obsession."

Sonic flinched at you r words, knowing deep down that you were right. But he couldn't help the twisted, possessive feelings that had taken root in his heart. "But…but I can't help it. I can't stand seeing you with anyone else but me. I can't stand the thought of anyone else holding you, or touching you, or…or…." He trailed off, the jealousy and possessiveness consuming him.

You felt a shiver run down your spine at the intensity in his eyes, his obsession becoming more apparent with every word he spoke. "Sonic, you have to stop this. It's not healthy. It's not normal. It's not love." You took a step towards him, your voice firm yet tinged with concern. He looked up at you, desperate and pleading. "How can I stop it? I've tried, but every time I see you with someone else, or even just talking to someone, I feel like I'm going crazy. I feel like I'm dying inside." His voice broke, revealing the vulnerability underneath his obsession.

You took another step closer, your expression softening just a little. "Sonic, listen to yourself. This isn't love. It's possession. It's obsession. You're not even seeing me as a person anymore. You just want to own me, to control me." You reached out a hand, hesitating for a moment before touching his shoulder. "And that's why i don't love you and i never will"

Sonic felt like he had been punched in the gut. Those words stung more than any physical blow ever could.

He recoiled at your words, looking at you with wide, pain-filled eyes. "No…no, you can't mean that. You…you have to feel something for me. I know you do. You just don't realize it yet." His voice cracked, the desperate pleading in his voice tinged with denial.You shook your head, your expression hardening. "No, Sonic. I don't. And I never will." The finality in your voice hit him like a sledgehammer. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. You were denying him, rejecting him, saying you didn't felt anything for him…

Sonic's world seemed to crumble around him. He had never expected this, had never imagined that you would outright deny any feelings for him. "No, no, no. This can't be happening. You have to love me. You have to." He took a step towards you, reaching out to grab your arm, his desperation growing more erratic.

You stepped back, pulling your arm out of his grasp. "Sonic, stop. You're scaring me." You backed away, putting more distance between yourselves. "You need help. You need to see that this isn't normal." You looked at him with a mix of sadness and fear in your eyes. Sonic froze, stunned by your words. He had never seen you look at him like that before.

He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down, but his mind was racing and his heart was pounding. "No, I don't need help. I just…I just need you. I need you to love me." He felt the tears streaming down his face, the desperation and despair becoming too much to bear.

You looked at him with a mixture of pity and frustration. "Sonic, listen to yourself. You're not making sense. You can't force someone to love you, no matter how hard you try. And this…this isn't love. It's obsession and control. It's not healthy, for either of us." You kept your distance, your voice firm.

Sonic slumped, the fight leaving him as the full weight of your words settled upon him. He knew you were right. He knew he was being irrational and obsessive. But still, he couldn't help the overwhelming feeling of desperation and heartache.

He looked up at you, his eyes filled with tears. "But…but what am I supposed to do? I can't just…just let you go." He sounded like a lost child, vulnerable and confused. "do i look like i care? you putted yourself into this mess Sonic" you spitted coldly

Sonic flinched at your cold tone, the words cutting deep into his soul. He was used to you being friendly and polite, never this cold. It was as if you had turned into a completely different person.

He looked up at you, his expression a mix of pain and confusion. "I…I didn't mean to. I just…I just wanted you to love me. I didn't mean to become this…this obsessive and possessive. I never wanted to hurt you." His voice cracked, the tears flowing freely down his face now.

You shook your head, your expression hardening even more.

"You think that makes it any better? You think that excuses your behavior? You've been stalking me, pushing away everyone who even dares to look in my direction, but you didn't mean to? That's bullshit. You knew exactly what you were doing. You just didn't care about how it would affect me." You took a deep breath, your voice cold as ice. Sonic's ears dropped, his shoulders sagging under the weight of your words. He had no answer to your accusations. He knew you were right. He had been reckless and selfish, prioritizing his own desires over your feelings and well-being.

He looked up at you, his eyes pleading with you to understand.

"But I…I didn't want to hurt you. I never wanted that. I just…I just wanted you to be mine. I didn't think about anything else." His voice was small and broken, his usual confident demeanor shattered.

Your expression softened just a tiny bit, seeing the pain and remorse on his face.

"But don't you see? That's exactly the problem. You were so focused on possessively holding onto me that you didn't care about my feelings. You didn't care about what I wanted. You only cared about what you wanted. That isn't love Sonic. That's selfish and controlling." Your voice was still cold but not entirely without sympathy.

Sonic could only watch as you walked away, your words and the coldness in your voice sending a fresh wave of despair coursing through him. He wanted to call out to you, to beg you to stay, but he knew it was futile. He had messed up. He had pushed too far, and he had lost you. He slumped down to the ground, his head in his hands as the weight of his actions and the emptiness he now felt settled over him like a cold blanket.

This is far from my best work, but it's 1:30am, and I needed to get this down before I slept or lost my mind. So here, take a snippet of Rook seeing Zara again for the first time in 3 years.

Trying, and failing, to keep his voice from shaking, [Rook] said “Hello, Captain.” Mouth still open in surprise, [Zara] replied “Well, hello yourself.” The reality of what she was seeing seemed to hit her as she rounded the desk. “Rook, is that really you?” He nodded. “It’s me.” Zara ran towards him, stopping just short of touching him, and said “What did she do to you?” Rook’s heart stuttered and he had to brush his fingers together to confirm Sigmar’s ring was still in place. Could she possibly see through its illusion? But then he remembered what Lanny had said. She knew where you were. His throat clenched and he choked out “Two years.” A wave of grief swept across Zara’s face as she said “I’m so, so sorry.” Rook shook his head vigorously. “It’s not your fault.” Zara ignored him. “It is my fault. I failed you. As your captain, it’s my responsibility to keep you safe, and I failed you.” Rook wanted to say something, to reassure her, but she pushed on. “She sent me letters, told me all the terrible things she was doing to you. I… I let you down.” Those words hit Rook with the force of a dozen cannonballs. Lanny had said that Zara knew Wolf had him, but knowing that Zara had been aware of what Wolf was doing to him… somehow that was more painful than any wound Wolf had ever inflicted. He barely managed to force his next words out around the lump in his throat. “Where were you?” And why didn’t you come? “She said she’d kill you if I came to get you. Or if I hired anyone to get you. You’re standing here because I stopped sailing.”

I have an OC I have yet to write about but is exactly this character- she’s just a Librarian.

Not the magical kind from the other show, though the jokes that could be made with this character would be endless- “Why does telling people you are a Librarian get you everywhere?” 🤷🏻‍♀️ “I learned not to question it- it breaks down if you do. Just keep smiling and walking.”

No I mean a funky nerdy librarian who wears cardigans because they are warm (but also dressing the part is just fun, come on) and wants everyone to read more books.

She runs the children’s section, and is great with reading out loud and patience for wiggly kiddos (and Harrisons, and Parkers, and Briannas). When not at the library she actively volunteers for after school programs to help with homework.

She is just a nice person.

Who read one too many spy novels, and has the customer service skills to note the leverage team not being who they pretend to be. She watches them to make sure they aren’t hurting anyone in her domain, but otherwise recommends cowboy books to the pretend janitor and nonfiction about famous sparkles for the new mayor’s assistant doing research at the computer, and leaves them alone.

It freaks them the hell out. They call in Sophie to analyze her- is she a player? No- no she’s just good at reading people. Sophie walks out with romance novels about widows finding new footing. Sophie never mentioned her husband had passed. She tells the team to leave her be and holes herself up in her room to read and cry with tissues and chocolate for three days.

Hardison decides the librarian is a witch, and reaffirms they should leave her the hell alone.

The Librarian, meanwhile, puts together that they are definitely lying to the Mayor and trying to trick him about SOMETHING. This is the same Mayor that quietly lowered funding for the afterschool programs 5 times and who low key threatened her job when she pointed out what she thought must be an error. She is currently using supplies that would be underused at the Library to keep it open, which, technically, is illegal. She lets them at him.

Near the end of this con, she saves Brianna’s butt by vouching for her and getting her out the back door of a building. The Mayor goes to jail. They say she should run, she says- “Are you kidding? I work best when people barely register I am there.”

They try recruiting her, she says “I wouldn’t feel right leaving the kids to deal with the idiots around here by themselves.” They leave her a card.

She just becomes the person they call. When they need lit questions answered. When they need some insight to children that somehow Sophie is missing (more so after Sophie retires). When they need a second opinion on reading someone.

She does do one job. It’s about a poorly run foster group home (more like a string of them), and they realize they can’t essentially take care of the kids AND take out the bad guys.

She would just be that character that shows up more consistently until she is a known memeber of the group. And she’s just a quiet librarian who hates bullies.

I love her so much.

And yes- I think Leverage teams need at least one “good” person (and we all remember who Nate was) to remind them why they do the thing and keep them on track.

I also think they left the opening of multiple teams so that we can fanfic this thing as much as we want. 😂 Go nuts.

By Leverage: Redemption, the team has branched out and gone international. And given the team's criminal contacts, and how they've looped people on before (Tara, Quinn, etc.) most of the members are probably criminals pointed toward bad people. Even Harry, despite being very new to crime, was on the crooked side of being a lawyer beforehand.

But I wonder how may Leverage recruits are the opposite. People with no shady history whatsoever, but who are so morally outraged that they have to do something about it.

i didn't respond to the citadel thing because I didn't see how it was related tbh. He's unhealthily attached to Morty for sure but codependency isn't inherently romantic

As for the whole kiss thing, I grew up w my familynkissing me on the mouth so rather than as romantic intention, I read that scene as rick wanting to show familial affection and not caring about Mortys discomfort, which happens a lot later

I think the Morty sexualization could be an emphasis of how c137 disagrees with the citadel on principle. Of course the majority of his issues with it is bureaucracy and capitalism etc, but there's a level of perversion to it overall that puts an emphasis on why rick is fighting capitalism and bureaucracy like in the Ricklantis Mixup.

Anyways I made my post because I am confident in my defense. If it was just me disliking a ship it would be one thing. Like I don't ship destiel (wild, I know). But I don't think anyone who does is crazy or doesn't understand supernatural. The point is that the ship is pedophilic and incestuous, and there are certain connotations that aren't negligible when discussing this dynamic. As much as Rick is terrible and selfish, overall he believes in equality, even if he goes about it badly (like killing the gromflomites in Pilot BCS they're bureaucrats and he doesn't respect them, advocating for socialism in the Purge episode) and in general thinks hurting innocents and the people he loves is bad. His pride usually gets in the way of his morals but 90% of the time, he's not intentionally cruel or harmful to people he deems good — like Morty.

Because of the connotations of pedophilia and Ricks established morals in the show, I think my point that he'd be against it is more accurate.

Also there is no evidence at all to suggest rickorty shippers are analyzing the show closer than anyone else ?? If anything it seems to me like viewing their relationship as incestuous shows a relatively surface level understanding of them as characters. Hence the post
