I’ve found that rather than the opposite, as i get older i have less patience for unsolicited crit on writing, esp from complete strangers since when I seek out criticism and writing advice it’s from people who I know know what they’re doing.

Like man this is a hobby that i do in my off time (which i don’t have much of at all!) and freely share with people. If someone is gonna say ‘this fic needed this actually’ or ‘this feels off, you should have done this instead’ to a stranger, they should either pick up the spatula themself or pay another person to fry that patty for them, to continue the metaphor
