Reverse1999 Suggestion: Gift System to raise Bond and more Passive Gathering
I've played a few gachas and a few implement other ways to raise Bond with characters. One of those ways is through a gift system.
For example:
Toffees would be a common item that raises Bond a little bit.
Then there would be some mid tier thing like idk a cake or something that raises it moderately.
And then a gold tier which is rare and raises the bond by a lot. These items are specialties that would raise the bond more for specific characters. Example:
A book of poems: Sonetto, Zima, maybe Nick
Machine parts: X, Sputnik, Ms. Radio, etc.
A music record: Regulus, Voyager
Wine: Apple, Tennant
Flowers: Druvis, Jessica
Here is how you would obtain these gifts:
There is a "task board" of missions available for you in the Wilderness. Each mission has requirements for a team like "beast/reality, star/mental, etc". Successful missions will give you Mission Points. If you want more points, you need to meet the full requirements but you can send out an alternative for less points if you want. The time spent on missions also effects how much Points you earn. More time = More points.
You use these Points in a shop (i know we already have a lot of shops but idk where else to put it) where you can buy Bond items, insight materials, or Wilderness Shells.
This benefits people who really love their characters and for people who need materials. That being said, there needs to be a balance so as not to break the game. Lore wise it would be Vertin treating her crew members after they successfully completed missions and received points. The description would be something like:
"Mission Points are used by the Foundation to evaluate efficiency. Bonuses and special coupons are given to the top point holders. Can be used to purchase items in the Point Shop. A wonderful cultivation of team effort and talent. You will always get what you deserve."
That being said, I'm sure their are other fun ways to implement things like this. Any thoughts?
AND SINCE I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION
What would you use as your characters favorite gifts? Examples:
Eternity: shrimp cocktail
Pavia: Gelato!

Incorrect, the fact that Biden has dropped out and a candidate with history of supporting medicare for all and being more receptive to a ceasefire in the I/P conflict has made me go from "I cannot morally support the Democratic nominee" to "I am voting for the Democratic nominee despite the fact she isn't perfect in every respect." I'm really happy this played out. The Dems for the most part abandoned the old Obama platform and it feels like its possible an actual progressive agenda could come to pass in my lifetime.
Kamala 2024!
If you weren't going to vote Democratic in this election before Biden dropped out you're a dorkass loser who does not care about any of the issues you're yammering about here and also a fundamentally bad person, and I hope you get run over by a bus.
But you got one thing right in all of this gibberish, Kamala 2024.
#personal#answered#anonymous#i mean let's be clear here no president is gonna attempt to be progressive ever again within my lifetime#because joe biden tried to do like 25% of that and got ZERO fucking credit#he did so much on healthcare on reform on loans on so many social issues and for all his litany of failings on i/p#he has been distinctly harsher on netanyahu than a good chunk of dems and certainly the entire republican party#for the first time since i was four we are not involved in any wars as americans and that is thanks to joe biden#but the thing is that he gets no credit for any of it!#him pulling out of afghanistan caused his approvals to tank in a way that never recovered#and leftists gave him FUCK ALL for it#they gave him nothing they just continued whining that even tho he cancelled a bajillion in student loans#he didn't actually cancel a QUADRILLION dollars so both parties are the same and voting is the most arduous task known to man#no democrat who is running is going to forget that catering to leftist/progressive policies gets them zero leeway with those supporters#that it not only tanks numbers but you still get constant haranguing about it anyway#so they're not gonna do it#we are gonna get fuckall for at least a good fifty years#and anything we get will be utterly in SPITE of people like you anon it will happen in spite of everything you've done#mostly because of people like me and mine who understand that voting is the bare minimum#and that for the democratic process to work the way you want it to you need to participate and not pitch a fucking fit#like a four year old who was told they can't go to disney this weekend#like i know you ratfuckers are happy this played out because this is all a game to you and you don't actually care#but that's why i've got zero faith in you people and why i'm glad it's my kind of folks#actual die hard democrats who have always been hardliners for supporting democrats in every possible election#who are picking up the slack and donating to harris and supporting her agenda#which is the exact same as biden's because she's his vice president and they share they same platform#because that's what they were both running on! twice!#anyway fuck you please feel free to find a necktie and test how tall your doorframe is

give me amnesiac stan pines who doesn't remember anything but how to take care of his family.
the aisles of the grocery store are unfamiliar to him, but he knows which candy to buy, what cartoony band-aids are preferred. he has no recollection of the children that live with him, yet it's only natural to make pancakes for breakfast each morning. he holds no attachment to this old shack, but he finds himself compelled to fix it up in the wake of the apocalypse. he wanders down to the basement at night because he's certain he's missing someone important, he just doesn't know who.
anyways i wrote a fic about it

I think my favourite thing about Paige is, in season one, we know her as this passive office worker who just up and finds the courage to help the people who kidnapped her after she witnesses a very law-backed atrocity. And you think how brave and/or insane it is of her, to go from smiling along with a human sacrifice to impersonating a police officer!
And then you learn her dad's an accomplished and previously convicted con man. If anything she probably could've impersonated a cop better if she wasn't so rusty.

It's kind of impressive how good Astarion is at primping when he can't see his own reflection. Like, he's vain, sure -- he has to be, to lure people back to Cazador. A pretty face is much more likely to draw people in, especially with his particular skill set. But...
All those years hunting for Cazador. Dolling himself up just to trap some poor fool in a tavern or a seedy back alley. His appearance always perfectly put together and beautiful.
Did the other spawn help get ready? There certainly seemed to be no love lost between them, especially for Astarion, but... Did they act as each others' mirrors, helping to style hair and apply make up? Did they help each other, in as much as they could, at least where it came to drawing in victims? Each consigned to the same fate, did they offer each other that smallest kindness of a brush run through hair?
Or did Astarion learn alone in the dark, to slick back his hair and hide his bruises? Is that why he's so put together at the start of the game, when you ought to be at your worst, injured and lost in the wreckage of your life? Practice?

Anidala’s love can’t be summed up to them having an “adolescent like relationship” when it’s their very love that defined and saved a galaxy and lasted as long as it did. They’ve found “deep love” within one another and considered it the only “good thing” among all that was happening during the war. It may come off as childish to those who don’t grasp the theatrical appeal to it, but the narrative intention was never for them to be painted as “two dumb horny teens.” They were naive and young, yes. Both forced into adulthood too quickly, and were traumatized at a vulnerable age, yes. Neither of them got the chance to just be kids and have a childhood, all true. But again, that narratively isn’t connected to them falling in love and being each other’s safe place. That’s actually apart of their own individual development as independent characters. While we’re on this topic, they’re canonically both impulsive. And yet that’s only due to who they are as characters, and therefore isn’t a reason to latch onto to insist that they have an “immature” or “adolescent” relationship with one another.

If Bones kidnapped you to plot a MHA movie what would you make it about ?
Assuming I'm under duress and forced to follow the Bones movie formula (and that I'm forbidden from making the Fantasy AU movie), there are two options.
My preference: a movie sequel to the story proper. Can't do that without knowing how it ends though.
A movie that summarizes the themes of the final arc, much like how the first two movies tried to do (we don't talk about the third movie).
The Bones formula stipulates I must have some weird original central character, but this is often the reason their movies fail (imo). The easiest way out of this problem is to make the original character like a dog or cat or baby, someone that is necessarily one-dimensional so they don't come across as vapid. Unfortunately Bones tried both of these already and still somehow managed to screw it up. So, considering THAT and the themes of the final arc, my OC is gonna be a villain.
Let's go with two villains who are childhood friends.
Tumblr media
Villain A grew up rich and with a powerful quirk that allows them to manipulate the things they touch, but because of a physical abnormality (perhaps heteromorphism) they become socially isolated from the rest of the world. Villain B, Villain A's childhood friend from before the abnormality took form, visits Villain A from time to time. As Villain A slips into loneliness and eventually madness, they come to take control of their home (a mansion). All the occupants living in the mansion take pity on Villain A and indulge their whims.
Cut to a present where the world has all gone to hell after AFO breaks out of prison. (We're gonna squeeze a few more days in there between Izuku's return to UA and the final battle with TomurAFO.) AFO encounters Villain A in their home and decides to leave another trap for Izuku. He boosts Villain A to be able to manipulate people as well as objects, and Villain A uses it to sate their loneliness. They convince Villain B, who is loyal to and feels bad for Villain A, to lure more people to Villain A for A to manipulate and play with, and over the month Villain A takes over the entire town.
At some point after Izuku returns to UA but before the fight with TomurAFO, Izuku and his search team come across Villain B seemingly in trouble and save them. It's actually a setup to lure them to the town. The team is comprised of Izuku, Katsuki, Shouto, Tenya, and Ochako at minimum. We can find bit parts for others if necessary :P
The plot is: Izuku's team gets lured by Villain B into a living labyrinth mansion controlled by Villain A.
Over the course of their struggle to escape, Izuku tries to prompt Villain B to talk so they can learn more about Villain A and figure out a solution. It is Shouto who picks up on all the clues from Villain B and the occasional traps they run into and determines how Villain A came to be this way and how Villain A may be lonely deep down--because Shouto relates to Villain A in many regards. Shouto believes they can try to reach Villain A in much the same way Izuku reached Shouto back in the sports festival. Izuku and Ochako are all for trying to save Villain A while Tenya secretly considers the logistical difficulty of this task and mentally vows to support and protect his friends. Katsuki keeps up his usual attitude but claims to be interested in taking down a power-boosted AFO-influenced villain who could have info on AFO's whereabouts.
Villain A becomes more unhinged and enraged by the heroes who won't play their game and loses control of the mansion. The mansion goes more and more berserk over time, which results in the group being forced apart.
Shouto and Ochako end up in one group that explores their admiration for Izuku and his heroism and what Izuku has done to inspire them. They get out of the mansion as it goes ballistic, and their main struggle is protecting the town from the chaos. Ochako and Shouto try to restore the wills of the people all under Villain A's control so that they can protect each other.
Katsuki and Tenya end up in group two. The tension between them is in how to handle the situation. Tenya expresses concern for the others, especially Izuku and Shouto, and wants to protect them from themselves because of how self-sacrificial they can be. Katsuki eventually gets across his view that anyone can be a danger to themself if they don't have friends there to keep them in check, but otherwise they are ALL capable of overcoming this ordeal together. Tenya decides to believe that supporting and aiding his friends can be the same as protecting them. Since the others were so adamant about saving the lonely, lost child in Villain A, Katsuki and Tenya work towards that goal. Tenya and Katsuki find Villain A, and Tenya carries Katsuki across the final leg to get Katsuki to Villain A before they are separated again.
Katsuki faces Villain A alone and attempts to find that lonely child trapped inside. Katsuki manages to bring that scared child out by appealing to how he was always so scared of Izuku but managed to get past that and strengthen their friendship in the end through understanding, but the mansion does not calm down as a result--rather it goes out of control as Villain A becomes emotionally unstable. Katsuki, emulating Izuku, steps in the way of a lethal blow from the mansion meant for Villain A, and he devotes all of his remaining strength to protecting Villain A just like All Might and Izuku would.
Izuku ends up in the final group with Villain B. Izuku spends that time coming to the conclusion that Villain B needs just as much saving as Villain A. By prying into Villain B's past, he decides that Villain B was motivated by their own heroic heart to save Villain A, but B just lacked the power to do so. Izuku steadily encourages Villain B to do the right thing and help stop Villain A, and he appeals to his and Villain B's mutual admiration of All Might to do so. When the house goes out of control, Izuku carries Villain B and attempts to find Villain A to hopefully stop all of this. Izuku uses all of OFA's quirks to avoid the mansion's attacks while searching for Villain A. They are only able to find him when Katsuki sends up a flare through all the chaos.
However, when Villain A sees their friend Villain B in trouble, they begin to internalize the blame for all the destruction. Izuku intends to bust through to Villain A and reunite Villain B no matter the cost, but Tenya shows up and reaffirms his vow to run alongside Izuku. Even though he knows Izuku would try to do this alone, he doesn't have to, and they are all stronger together, all that great shounen friendship action.
Izuku distracts the mansion while Tenya carries Villain B to get to Villain A. Down below, Shouto and Ochako convince the town to take action and defend the town, including Villain A whom they failed to care for. Ochako picks up a building and throws it at the mansion. (I NEED THIS SOMEHOW AND I'M GETTING IT NOW.) Shouto uses the debris from the resulting crash to create winding paths of ice, which Tenya uses to skate and boost across to help Villain B finally reach Villain A. HAVE YOUR GODDAMN SAKUGA.
Villain B overcomes their cowardice to try to connect with Villain A again. Even when Villain A apologizes to Villain B and Villain B gets Villain A unstuck from the house, there's nothing they can do to take back control of A's quirk (because of AFO's sabotage). But Katsuki, despite his grave injuries, gets them to hold onto him and he flies out of range of the debris of the house. Izuku OFAs the shit outta the mansion. Then, working together, Shouto freezes all the collapsing house debris into a ball to roll down an ice ramp and launch towards the sky, Ochako taps it to make it weightless, and Izuku launches it into outer space. Fuck that house.
Katsuki was only able to blast him and the villains out of range of the house but not to the ground, so he runs out of steam and falls. Izuku catches them. It's kinda gay. Especially when Villain A and B reconcile with each other and Katsuki gets to reflect on the savior Izuku is and his rescue-hero-cheesy goals that Katsuki has accepted and Izuku gets to reflect on Katsuki's insistence on doing things as a team. They both are secretly like "Awww it's his way of caring for me--and now I'm instantly repressing that thought." Izuku also forgets to pay attention to his landing and Tenya tries to catch them both and it's a dogpile of people landing on top of each other. INSERT COMIC RELIEF. (Ochako picks everyone up.)
The crux of what this movie needs that most of the other movies have failed at is BANTER. So we get Ochako and Shouto trying to be out-inspired-by-Izuku (lol not really this is a joke) as Shouto gets to make the townspeople feel at ease and Ochako sees the smiles on all the crowd as the town is saved. Tenya supports and keeps an eye out for his friends and transports people to Villain A because Ingenium would race across the land to take the hand of a lost child. Katsuki's dumb posturing collapses immediately in the face of his opportunities to oops-gotta-be-a-real-hero-now and he gets all deep with the villains and reaches their hearts or w/e, and Izuku finds victims to save everywhere all over the place all the time and brings people together in the way Katsuki and the rest of Class 1-A did for him when he ran off on his own.
And that's how you write a decent Bones filler where the characters actually get to be the characters they are and reflect on canon themes of the story without risking contradicting any canon and still building up a potentially emotional and meaningful story via some actually relevant OCs to showcase those themes with TONS OF KAIJUU HOUSE MONSTER PUNCHING because childhood homes are symbols of evil and trauma in MHA and apparently need to be destroyed. And Ochako throws a fucking building, finally.
Enjoy your disgusting happy fuzzy feels ❤️

top 5 fandoms?
oooh, okay! so my top 5 to hang out in (which is not necessarily the same as stuff I draw fan art of, but ones where I’ve gone to group meet ups at conventions, attended watch parties/events for, actively seek out the tags for on twitter, etc) are probably
-Kamen Rider
-the bitter Sam fan side of SPN
-DMBJ
-Pacific Rim
-Guardian/Zhen Hun or the Yakuza franchise

one small detail that stood out to me about this latest episode that i haven’t seen anyone else talking about yet is that when the commentators are calling colin “inspiring” and the “man of the match,” they are celebrating him not for actually scoring the goals himself, but for providing the crucial assists to make both of them happen. and i really love that because for me it’s the absolute perfect wrap to his character arc across all three seasons!
like, we know that colin’s job on this team has never been to score goals. in fact i’m pretty sure we’ve never heard about a single goal that he has scored. colin is and always has been a team player, not a star—and we’ve seen that crop up over and over. notably, we’ve seen the fact that he’s not entirely at peace with that crop up over and over: see the way he was affected by nate’s entire holidy-inn-painting monologue, being benched to make room for zava, etc.—like, this is the thing he’s sensitive about! this is where all of his insecurities come from!
but at the SAME TIME it’s also tied very intimately with all his struggles re: hiding his sexuality— “colin’s a chameleon,” etc. it’s fascinating because there’s SO much tension there between colin 1. feeling bad about the fact that he never stands out on the pitch the way some of his teammates do, because of who he is on the team, and 2. feeling like he CAN’T stand out, ever, because of Who He Is As A Person. etc. it’s like. he’s filling this role in the background. he’s afraid he’s not doing it well enough. he’s afraid that what and who he is isn’t good enough and isn’t worthy of recognition. he wishes he were someone different. trying to be someone different in the locker room is clearly making him so unhappy and stressed out. it is All Connected and my thoughts have been doing laps around it at an ever-increasing rate since i watched episode 2.07 ‘headspace’ if not before!
and all of this is why it’s so incredible to me that in the end, colin’s big moment comes from making assists and not goals! because on the one hand i understand the fandom desire for the colin post-coming out glowup that we all knew was coming—to see him, like, ~prove everybody wrong about him~ and inspire people by suddenly becoming a standout player and scoring goals left and right, even though that never used to be his role on the team before. and don’t get me wrong, i was 100% on board that train, and would have loved it for him if that was how it went down in the end, also. i think he should get to score here and there! as a treat! especially now that richmond are playing total football and there’s been so much emphasis placed on how it’s not just jamie/dani/occasionally sam who are making all the goals anymore!
but i don’t know! especially after the events of the last few episodes, there’s something very special to me about getting to see a colin who, rather than becoming someone entirely new in the moments right after coming out, just feels free to become, and be at peace with, the best version of the same self he’s always been. he’s still a team player first and foremost, but now that he’s not as weighed down by the need to chameleon/hide/pretend to be someone he’s not, he’s so much better at it. and everyone sees this! he gets to be celebrated for his contributions within the role he’s always played! he (and everybody else!) finally recognizes the value that he adds to the team just by being himself—fully himself! it resolves all the tension and insecurity that we’ve seen him struggling with this whole time, on every level. and so this moment was genuinely the perfect ending for his journey in my opinion—i’m so so happy that we were tall enough to join him on the ride here, and so excited to see what he does going forward these last few episodes now that some of that pressure is off him <3
#it's like. he doesn't want to be a spokesperson! he shouldn't have to End Homophobia by becoming zava 2.0! in fact it would not be possible#for him to do this even if he DID come out publicly and then became the best goal-scorer the league has ever seen because the people who are#the problem will ALWAYS manage to find something to attack him for no matter what he does#what's important to me and i think to him as well is that he has the confidence in himself that he needs to perform at his own personal best#and that his teammates recognize this and support him the same way he has always supported them both on and off the pitch#and while a part of me would have liked to see a public coming-out arc i completely get why they're not going there. it would be a lot to#tackle and this season is already getting justified criticism for spreading itself too thin#i think it would have been POSSIBLE to do and do well but. it would place a LOT of constraints on the entire rest of the plot#and i do recognize somewhere in the back of my brain that colin is not ACTUALLY the protagonist of this show for most people#so them choosing to take the character in the ‘i don’t want to be a spokesperson’ direction instead makes sense and was handled very well#anyway. one other reason i’m pleased about all of this is that while most of my recent tl fic is no longer canon-compliant as of this week.#i sure did NAIL the happy ending being an assist and not a scored goal. have been thinking these thoughts for WEEKS and i feel so vindicated#ted lasso#ted lasso spoilers#colin hughes

In a way, Baz has experience Simon doesn’t, because he has a better grasp of love and how to give it (even if Baz does struggle with fully accepting unconditional love – before Simon, he feels like he’s loved despite parts of who he is). Baz knows what he wants, and he has known for a long time. He has experience desiring and with desire (even if he can struggle with being desired, with even accepting it even though Simon desires him so intensely).
In certain way, Simon’s experience with dating and everything that came with it didn’t do much for him besides showing him what he doesn’t want (and likely creating new issues) even if he’s not processing it like that (because he doesn’t want to think about it) (it always stand out to me that Simon thinks like he’s just figuring out love and sex and relationships with Baz on page, like he has not ever done any of it before… and he hasn’t. Not like that. Not when he really wanted it)
Simon has wanted Baz for just as long, but hasn’t known it for long. He has no experience identifying his wants and then acting on it. He has no experience identifying his desire and just feeling it, he has no experience expressing it. Simon is just barreling through when he gets lost, without knowing what he’s supposed to take, where it leads. We can tell, in hindsight, that Simon’s experience are with pushing himself to do things he didn’t really want or wasn’t interested in, things he wasn’t ready to do yet (if you can’t even think the word sex…) (that candle in wind says a lot about Simon’s desinterest and familiarity with pressure and expectations)… things where he likely pushed himself to just barrel through before “he lost his nerve.”
Baz has experience with connecting pleasure with his desire for Simon, he has experience seeing romantic and sexual feelings connected and directed toward someone and doing something about it (even if it’s angrily, hidden, and by himself, there’s processing and discovery there). Which is part of why it makes sense that Baz takes the lead, and Simon follows his cues. Baz grounds Simon. We get somewhere when “Baz drives” (getting back here in a second).
Simon is discovering himself, and it’s a process. Even when he’s telling us he has never been in love with anyone who isn’t Baz, that he has never wanted (to have sex) with anyone but him, Baz is the one saying the word in his memory. It’s not Simon who says it. But then, when Simon is in the moment, when he gets lost in his desire, he tells us he “wants to cum on Baz.” There’s something feral and explicit (maybe even possessiveness) about it that shows a hidden desire he would not have dared say before. He wants to mark Baz with “the physical manifestation” of his desire for him.
We see Simon discovering what he’s into in bed with Baz in real time. It doesn’t mean he has experience with it. He has no experience being bitten – him finding it hot is likely because he thinks Baz’s fangs are hot, and it’s exciting to see him drink, and so he’s putting these things together. With the way his crazy magic worked, he couldn’t get worked up at all. (Blowing off steam would have likely been in other physical activities like sword training). Baz says Simon is “going off” in bed, when Simon’s desires and emotions can get out of control. Wanting to “cum on Baz” is something he could have discovered he wanted to do in the moment, while in bed with Baz –before this, the release of his magic was likely the only release Simon knew, the only he has experience with… and it was huge and destructive. (I have a post somewhere where their first time could be seen as Simon experiencing an orgasm for the first time, while for Baz is the first time he feels allowed to enjoy his desire for Simon)
Simon struggles because he has no experience managing this. Comparing eating sandwiches Baz made him in bed, just the way he likes it, with make-up sex implies he has no experience connecting sex with pleasure – he’s connecting it with food and Baz and bed (as if food were his only reference for feeling pleasure, Baz the only one who has ever awoken desire) (also food=love and connection in the series).
It really makes the most sense that Baz would drive, for multiple reasons. Simon has pushed himself in the past – not wanting it didn’t stop him, and he’s worst off for it (it has made him, however, more astute with consent, how complicated things can be, how it get go out of hand: “did anything happen that you didn’t want to happen?”) Baz’s experiences make him more suited to ground Simon, because he’s a natural caretaker, because he’s not going to push or allow things to continue if they’re not 100% into it, because he knows what he wants. But Baz doesn’t “do all the work” in terms of guidance either — he has no experience with taking what he wants, with feeling allowed to even ask for it. That’s where Simon gets him out of his head. He encourages him to ask for anything. (They ground each other)
