Taylor draws on her friends arms, Tyler will pretend to hate it same with Ash but they always ask her to redraw things when they fade. Aiden once had Taylor do an detailed tattoo like design on his arm in class. It didn't wash of for almost three weeks.

Aiden actually has sensitive skin, the wrong fabric gives him rashes. No one but him knows what fabric won't, it's all based on touch.

Tyler can cook really well, and even enjoys it sometimes. Can't bake for shit though.

This is in response to an ancient ask from around 2018 so feel free to ignore it. I found that post about fandom discourse on your account and found out the sh/eith asks on your blog. So here's some clarification about it.

The majority of the bullying and harassment in the fandom was done by kl shippers, specifically the antis and the normal kl fans got caught in the crossfire. I dont know what hunty did but a major reason why they were on the kl hit list was because they were actively compiling all the harassment and vile behaviour of the fandom (regardless of the ship of choice). This doesn't absolve any harm done by sk shippers definitely but there is a big gap between the severity of bad behaviour on both sides.

The kl fans told a gay man (David Gaider) that he was a pedophile for liking sk and tried to get him fired. Harassed a non binary lesbian who worked on the show and painting her as predator and threatening to hurt her till she stopped wanting to appear at panels, threatening a voice actor's children to the point that he had to start reporting people, and the continued and absolutely vile treatment of Lauren Montgomery for 2 whole years at every perceived slight to their golden by.

The reason kl fans were called delusional by some was because they made several really bad reaches like writing entire manifestos about why kl would be canon and calling it a bible and a testament despite the show runners repeatedly saying it was never on the table and it boiling down to head canons. Insisting that every a/llurance interaction was secretly about kl and insisting every sk interaction was platonic but then redrawing those exact same scenes as kl. Insisting that Kihyun's Keith groping Shiro's tiddy art is brotherly. Telling gay men that that using words like brother or family for your crush when you don't fully understand your feelings means they have psychosexual problems and have an incest fetish then turning around and insisting that C/atradora, another ship popular with kls was actually just the lesbian experience since they were actually raised as sisters. Outside of that there was sending sk shippers gore and cp and telling one they should have died from their cancer.

As for the ages and the sk age discourse, the backstory was revealed in season 7, in season 1 the characters were introduced as 5 teenagers in space meeting aliens, which included Shiro. Now considering Shiro has always looked like an older guy even when he was a teen in the original series people went with it, even those who didnt usually read him as an older teen. Later Keith came back about 2 years older while Lance was still 17 so they started insisting that Keith was mentally stunted and therefore still a "baby adult" at about 20. This was because back when people said Shiro could be 18-19-20 that Keith being 17 is still weird. But kl fans started insisting that all ptsd sufferers were inherently abusive in relationships and that he had "scrambled eggs for brains". They also insisted that he could only be shipped with Allura who was an adult according to them. in season 2 a non canon book was released that said Keith was 18 at the start of the series and Shiro was 25. Unless people were obsessively looking at this stuff you wouldn't know that. Later Allura's va made a reference to Allura dealing with trauma like an average teen which instantly had kls throwing shiro/allura fans under the bus. Also note that they were very against lotor/lance and harassed the shippers within a week of the ship becoming a thing. Basically every ship outside of kl involving these two became problematic in one way or another, sk and a/llurance taking the worst hits. By the end of season 6 kls had their chats leaked discussing their fears of sk becoming canon and needing to cope by rereading the kl manifestos and doubling down on harassing the sk and a/llurance shippers. By this point Lauren Montomery had already liked fanart of shiro and keith making out (s2), Barlee had liked art of them snuggled up (s3), the famous "Shiro loves you baby, he's looking at keith" art had already been posted by Chirs palmer (s1), Josh Keaten had already coined the ship name (s1), Kihyun Ryu was drawing Keith groping Shiro (s6) and Bex had already made several jokes about Shiro and Keith being a couple (s1-7). At this point kl fans started harassing the staff directly and calling them predatory, after their infamous attempt at blackmailing them to make kl canon didn't work. They would change their approved non ship questions during panels to put the staff on the spot, they recorded Jeremy Shada without his consent for a scrap of kl evidence, they posted videos of children forcing them to watch vld, they posted uncensored pics of two classmates (minors) for wearing blue and red, as well as of their very very small students because they were kl coded, they spammed Jeremy Shada's posts with his gf insisting its uncomfortable cuz they look like siblings and how he should date Keith's va instead (a married man btw), they then proceeded to harass Shada when he lost his cool and ranted about the behavior of kl fans in a panel calling him awful things. They told csa survivors that they should be ashamed of liking a ship.

In a later panel for season 6 Josh Hamilton flat out said that sk were in no way related and JDS said that people would come out of the show either thinking they were together or thinking they are just bros hinting at some degree of ambiguity. It was only in season 7 after much of the thing was over that we saw their backstory, the pics that are used to harass shippers. By this point most sk shippers had a completely different backstory for them and those who shipped them from before didn't ship them in this variation of canon. He was also dating someone else during this period anyway.

As for why people ever started shipping sk in the first place, its because Bex made two snapchat posts about the very first episode refering to Shiro being Keith's true love and Shiro bringing the kids (the other three paladins) to his and Keith's date night. Mind you, both Josh Keaten and Bex were actively harassed for saying that sheith was a perfectly normal and healthy ship.

TLDR: The vld show had no show bible and the ages were never elaborated on, people didn't know shit about how sk met and a lot of the narrative is made up head canons being pushed as facts. Majority of the claims against sk shippers is revisionism that was done by antis and these things can be proven with all the records and screenshots maintained by hunty and several other blogs. That being said there were assholes in all ships, even the ones that insist they were unproblematic and innocent.

Heck I don’t actually remember if Pure Vanilla/Dark Cacao was a request or if it was something I just planned to do on my own. I know it started out as my own idea, but sometimes that happens and then before I get to doing it, someone requests it and I just make it a request, and I don’t remember if that happened here

But regardless, this was a drawing I made of the idea for a purecacao fankid on it’s own, and I’m posting it as such

Now you’ll notice that this isn’t my usual format. This is because this isn’t her official design, it’s just that last night, I had this idea for a design of her as a young child with Dark Cacaoian clothing, and so I just wanted to make a quick doodle to show you

It was just going to be that picture in the middle, as it’s more sketchy and rough, and clearly not how I usually do these fankid requests. However when I finished, I realized that I made her too small. See, if I may explain some things, for my poorly drawn comics and other things that use that particular brush (it’s the Narinder Pencil if you want to know), and I don’t like enlarging pictures drawn with it because the lines get all blurry and it loses its texture. Prior to the Charcoal Cheese comic, for my poorly drawn comics I tended to enlarge the sketch to fit the screen, and then I’d completely redraw the lines. But here, I had already colored the whole thing, plus it was multiple layers to redraw, so I didn’t want to. But I couldn’t just crop down the canvas to fit it because my square canvases are already 500x500 pixels, they’re very small (and also I think the small size might account for why they may not show up in the best quality, but I’ve been using this size for over 2 years and I’m set with it, and I feel like changing would be too much effort). And I feel like making it even smaller would just tank the quality even more

Though to be honest, I’m glad I made a second version with my proper sketching process, as I was better able to figure out her colors and design

Speaking of her design, yeah this is sort of what I’m thinking for her look, at least in terms of hair, dough and eye color. She’s not gonna keep the braid though, that’s just a kid thing

I feel like maybe I should give her streaks, but I’m not sure where to put them or what color

Also I realize that I forgot to put KitKats on her design. I wasn’t planning to originally since this is a little kid’s outfit, but also in some of the artbook drawings, young Dark Choco had small Oreo shoulderpads, so maybe she should have something similar. I had an idea for her wearing tiny KitKat shoulderpads, but I forgot them. Ah well

Hmm, does she look like a purecacao kid? I’m looking at her and I feel like she looks more like her own character than related to them. Maybe it’s the lack of streaks

Oh yeah, and one more thing I want to add, I’ve decided she’s a post-canon kid, as in Pure Vanilla and Dark Cacao got together after the events of the Dark Flour War and canon in general. The story in my head goes that Dark Cacao developed feelings for Pure Vanilla, but was hesitant to tell him about it, maybe because he’s socially awkward and wasn’t sure how to, maybe because Pure Vanilla and White Lily had something going on and he didn’t want to stir up drama between them. But regardless, Dark Cacao felt that it wasn’t so much of a big deal since they were immortal, he could tell him when he felt it was right. But then the Dark Flour War happened and Pure Vanilla seemingly died, with Dark Cacao never telling him how he felt. But then years later, Pure Vanilla came back, and while Dark Cacao was of course overjoyed, it also caused him to realize that even being immortal, they don’t have all the time in the world, and he needed to tell Pure Vanilla how he felt, and so during the events of Odyssey, he confessed to Pure Vanilla, and then likely sometime after Dark Enchantress’s defeat, they got together, and later had this girl

Also this means she has a (probably) 30+ year older brother in Dark Choco, but it’s all good

I feel bad just keeping her unnamed, but I don’t know what to call her. *sigh*

// the darkworld arc had been abandoned/retconned. while there IS a UT-universe version of Kris and Susie (assuming Frisk isn't Kris in UT, tho Kris is still very much their own person regardless) in AFR, we will only know Susie in the redraw. (again... assuming UT Susie is Suzy and not a sister like the catty and catti situation.)

x-x we just know too little about DR we don't even know how the universes mirror each other and the timelines are all WHACK. its a nightmare to write for or even theorize about. i esp dont wanna think about how they'd change in the time skips of AFR.

anyway in the redraw we'll see a LOT more of Susie as Frisk's whole journey is about befriending her. i didn't add her and MK into the epilogue because we need a proper foundation that the redraw will provide. at that point, my Susie would diverge from canon Suzy heavily as her story would be quite different.

So. My original plan for the rewrite was for Gaster and Riverperson to have worked together in the prime timeline. then gaster got yeeted from time, leaving his work behind. Then, Chara would run away to the underground looking for a purpose and an escape from Asriel's BS and the island. (though, thinking on it, logically Mt.Ebott wouldn't be on monsterland... as that's exiled from humanity. so idk about that anyway)

Anyway exploring true lab Chara accidently uncovers an artificial darkworld and gets stuck as a ghostly narrator again, this time as a cherub with Feylow. Frisk, Susie and MK would be the party and they'd have to make their way home together. I've heavily considered this portion being a fangame-only material, for better play-value.

The story itself can keep gaster to a bare minimum. The guy is scattered across time. he's not directly involved at all. at most we know he did SOMETHING to chara in the prime timeline with their soul and now things are on the fritz (what caused this AU) up until fake DW, where they're possessed again.

I just don't want to play with DR canon at all anymore. darkworlds are inherently going to tie into that. and granted, in UT canon there's entry #17 that implies a growing darkness... it's not a stretch that Gaster could of done this. And he DID have a DT extractor, and the timeline is vague but the similar wording (and how old the core is) could imply he was around Chara's time. None of this is a stretch

buuuut working with Darkworld, even if it's a fake one, is too close to DR canon and we just don't know much yet. when i first did the darkworld, i thought it'd be a fun excursion into the same chapter 1 area... but i got too into the improv and imagination side of things without understanding the original at all. (and bad improv) it didn't really hit me that DR was it's own game and lore until Chapter 2, and I realized just how early on we are into that game's story.

I just... I can work with what I've got, I can avoid DR canon as much as I can but ultimately, I'm working with 2/7ths worth of puzzle pieces.

I don't wanna do any of this. Gaster used to be a "free for all" in the fandom to do whatever timeline/lore thing you wanted to pull of cause he was free real-estate. but now DR is treating him more and more as a character and I don't wanna touch the guy as he's going to be jossing the story.

idk what to do in all honesty. The darkworld portion IS important, Chara goes through major character development that the Continue Arc is built on. But I've been struggling with Feylow as a concept, and well, this. what the hell am I going to do.

Bloody Mary by KANKAN & FAKE TYPE

First of all, naturally, it is the cunt being served here. Kankan has a powerful voice that is complimented incredibly well by the jazzy backing. The whole song is full of energy. The visuals are also stunning in every way possible. It fits on sound alone.

However, the song is also about disrupting the food chain (metaphorically and literally) and eventually becoming the very carnivore you overthrew by gorging yourself on meat? Is this not the core of Inari's character? She is consumption incarnate.

The imagery in the song of the other animals that she recruits eating meet makes me think about her meeting with the Marakuma brothers; "Kneel before me, and I'll allow you to eat openly and unabashedly", despite having just eaten one of their brothers whole. First she dethroned the top of the food chain in the kemono world (oni/the demon clans), and then went for humans-- and in a way, her takeover has allowed for kemono to live openly, but at the same time, it's all at the mercy of her fangs...

NOBIMARU:

Ghost in Kansai by Inukai ft. Gumi

Again, starting with aesthetics: Wooma's artstyle always reminds me of Nobimaru, and the combination of traditional & modern aesthetics works well for the urban fantasy setting of Kemono Jihen. Furthermore, Inukai has a really unique way of tuning Gumi (using her English VB for Japanese, which changes how syllables are pronounced), and the formal, robotic, almost-stilted sound of her voice layered over the high energy techno-traditional backing reminds me a lot of Nobimaru's excessively formal and almost-stilted way of speaking.

(I even started a wip of a redraw of one of the shots ft Inari and Nobimaru. We'll see if it ever gets finished)

As for the song itself, the lyrics of the song, the narrator (the girl/gumi) is singing about the "monster" (snake guy) and how he's built himself up and craves more and more power and popularity, regardless of the fact that it's all dirty/trash. theres also the line "i wish i could live as a child" (free and innocent), alongside the overall narrative of the song. From what I can glean, Gumi is some sort of powerful entity that can control the fabric of reality, but at the whims of whoever commands her (denoted by the scarf around her neck). In this song, it's the snake man, who she laments about being greedy, power-hungry, and not appreciating that she "rustled all this up for him"-- who is then destroyed by the monk, who places his scarf around her neck. this serves as a prequel for the song Idolatry, which ends in Gumi taking off the scarf to bring back the snake demon, despite the destruction it causes because she can't reconcile with her new life and the "boredom" of peace/not being used.

Anyway. I know that was a lot but back to Nobimaru... It makes me think a lot of how cynically he views his own situation and how unchangeable it is, (such as refusing Kabane's request to join Inugami, calling himself a bad person, talking about how he can't do what Kabane does, because if he could... "what would all this dirty work have been for?")...and how all of that goes to building up the power of a greedy individual using him solely as a tool, but being a tool gives him his only purpose. He loves Inari, but he hates her also... he resents the empire of trash he's given her, but he couldn't live otherwise. He bitterly remarks on the others around him, and all with a detached cadence....

anyway the theme of the “frankenstein complex” is obvious in this song and i think its even referenced in the description or comments but it’s defined as “the fear of what youve created”. technically the term was coined for computer science and AI but here it’s being used more liberally and so im going to use it liberally in my analysis

I think Hinata feels responsible for who Robara is, and Robara is responsible for what Hinata is. While their abilities set up the idea that Robara can manipulate Hinata’s form as needed (see: the decorations), it’s revealed to us that Hinata is essentially his babysitter: She feeds him, she’s the one who has to cut his hair, to remind him to shower, to dress him, to decide what they do next and where they go. And while you’d think that’d give her power in the relationship, it’s all because of his emotional manipulation– he purposefully refuses to learn how to care for himself so she won’t leave him, and she’s desperate for him to become independent (quote “Sometimes Hinata will reach her limits and snap at him, so he’ll get up and boil noodles to keep her happy”.)

But, y'know, I have to think about Hinata feels. and we don’t have to guess– there’s multiple parts that imply she feels directly responsible for his emotional development as well. Even though he’s an adult and made the choice to be who he is, she feels so guilty that she can’t fix him– she’s afraid of what she’s “created”. even though she was five too, seven, ten, 13, 15, 18, 20, 25… all of her energy and time has been devoted to “creating” Robara, even though it’s all being pulled by his agenda. but she doesn’t know that!

ok past the concept and into the lyrics now

heartbreak is the loss of a lover, and while it usually just refers to being dumped, i think this could be read as just a pure desperation to get out. to leave, maybe even for him to die– just to get out of here, even if it’s heartbreak

this song in general takes on a really childish tone at times and as we’re aware this “relationship” started when they were 5. both Hinata and Robara show a lot of signs that their maturation emotionally is really stunted, and not only that, but the incident that started everything was Hinata going over to his home to play.

So with that bad kiss Comfort me again please Bad smell, bad smell, XXX this ugly, patched sc-ar-t… Undergo necrosis, undergo necrosis

there’s. honestly a lot i could say here but robara is truly hinata’s only companion. i don’t think his possessiveness and jealousy allowed for a lot of friends, and after 20 years even if she hates his constant need for physical attention it is her only “comfort”. not to mention the medical themes and themes regarding death surrounding ogreham as a whole and their characters albeit underexplored (given that they were really the SIU’s de-facto “medics”)

Hinata’s reason for staying around and being alive is because Robara couldn’t survive on his own in her eyes, but I think she’s afraid of and or knows that she’s going to die someday– or maybe she dreams of just disappearing. Robara’s a parasite, a sick twist on how a rose feeds on the energy it gets from the sun (Hii), a theme reiterated constantly in the manga. She’s given up on having hopes and dreams on her own outside of him, and I think…I don’t know. It’s just sad

Patrons are limited, wanted to protect, loved them so much Wanted to touch, wanted to stare at, wanted to tell, dimly watched Still young, our nightmare

Hinata wants to protect Robara but she also wants to protect people FROM Robara. Not only that, but it’s mentioned in a twitter post from I believe…2020’s? Hinata’s birthday that the heart necklace Hinata wears was a gift selected by her and Robara going to the store and asking what’s the most popular among couples so they could have some sense of being a “normal” couple. Everything they do is just a farce at playing house, because they started dating when they were FIVE. nothing about their relationship is normal or real, and she KNOWS that. She wants to be one of them, but the rest of her life is here.

So with that lightning kiss I gave the first cry Bad smell, bad smell, XXX “I can’t stop thinking about you” Spit words like a slave!

Once again returning to the theme of decay, especially a decaying “heart”– decaying MEAT, which underpins a lot of the imagery between them. Not only that, but the last line emphasizes how much of a pretend game their PDA is– and while the quote is supposedly said by the other person in this song, I think even then it fits with how Hinata could’ve began to view the cycle the two of them were trapped in. As little sympathy as I have for Robara, she did genuinely care about him, and her perception of him seems to be that he’s trapped by his desires and inability to change.

Hinata never got the chance to realize that Robara was fucking. lying? he was just lying and manipulating her. In the manga he admits that she was too good for him and he couldn’t let her go, but in side material from Aimoto we learn that Robara’s incompetance was INTENTIONAL. he was aware that she wanted to leave him and pretended to be helpless so she wouldn’t because she’s too kind. While it’s true there was an underpinning of apathy towards his own physical care, It was very much intentional on his behalf. ok after that doozy this one won't be quite as in depth but i'd be utterly remiss if i didn't mention the band that inspired Lacramioara and Leopold's entire existence

a large portion of the characters in their verse are explicitly inspired by specific bands/songs (ie: Johnny Strings and Cross DeVille are both inspired by The Devil Went Down to Georgia), and they're no different! Although the similarity in name (strigoi) may lead you to believe this song led directly to Mioara's existence, it was actually a few different Powerwolf songs that kickstarted it-- I was originally thinking about making both her and Leopold werewolves (or, well, werewolf-angels). I went back and forth on it a lot.

Anyway, you'll notice there's a reference to this song in their official titles-- "Sons of God and Sorrow". Just as a little homage.

But really, heavy metal insane christian vampire angels is just such a badass concept. youre with me on this one right.

needed an art dump for all my (admittedly not very good) sketches for souichi from my saiki k/junji ito crossover so heres his house layout

and no it's not harsh black on white its ao3 dark mode colors (very pleasing to the eye) so u don't need to worry abt eyestrain

heres the whole house and its layout

i dont actually know if they would have a wall around their house, but i assume they would bc that seems like a staple in Japanese properties regardless of price. their yard is smaller than pictured, i just didn't wanna obscure it too much.

the house looks bad but it gives u a good idea of what it looks like so

in case u cant read my writing bc of the stabilizer, next to the tv in the 1st floor is the shrine. next to the stairs is the washer and dryer and then the bathroom.

the 2nd floor notes explain that the hallway is covered in various framed pictures of the tsujii family with a significant jump from right before fuchi's attack to after. (ill probably go more into depth if souichi ever brings anyone over, but souichi is normally smirking or obviously annoyed in most pics pre-fuchi, but just looks miserable or actually in pain in any after)

the attic. i havent decided whats up there, but ive decided that the door is locked and souichi stole the key. i might have mentioned that the house didn't have an attic, and i like that idea, so i think the attic's totally unuseable due to the insulation and stuff. souichi probably would have cleaned it up if he wasn't injured, but yk.

the downstairs is def inspired by the anime "inuyashiki" it's so heartwrenching i watched it twice and cried both times. highly recommend. it's basically if light yagami got turned into a robot alongside an old man and it's only 10 or 11 episodes but GOD im gonna make more references to it at some point.

souichi's bedroom

souichi’s the standing thingy while the other thingy standing against his wardrobe is that weird statue thingy he has which ive decided it a halloween prop he got and decided it was a hone onna he captured and sealed

for reference, souichi's about 5"4, but his hunch (which is probably more dramatic than shown) makes him seem a lot shorter. canonically, he's like 4"9-11 but everyone thought he was 5"4 so i figured i'd make him 5"4.

theres stuff in the bookshelf i just didnt feel like putting anything in there. the emptiness on top of the shelves and the actual shelf is intentional bc souichi cant comfortably reach them!! he also doesn't have that cloth over his light bc once again he can't reach it. that's also why his hone onna is propped between the dresser and the wardrobe rather than hanging, bc he couldn't put it up and no one helped him

i also hope that the proportions are right. souichi wouldn't be able to reach a top shelf within the wardrobe and i think he's a bit too tall in the second pic but u know what i mean

the thingy with the wheels by the door is actually a thingy i have irl! its got three levels of tiny shelves with abt 3 inch walls. i use it to store my sewing stuff and any fabric or yarn i need for current projects. its also a lot taller. (sorry that its blurry and the lines are thicker than the other stuff i had to resize and didn't feel like redrawing)

his wardrobe's got clothes in it, but i think his bookshelf would probably have a few books and then his dolls everywhere else. his kokkuri geisha is top-shelf and constantly berates him when he talks to it about giving it a proper place to sit. souichi can't move her tho bc her box is so heavy and no one wants to touch it anymore. (it was put there temporarily and misako and shuji kept putting off putting her elsewhere)

if anyone wants a closeup of any room just ask!! ive got heights for all the characters planned and i might sketch out some of the pictures on the walls

Hey Jessie question;

Does Jessie consider Samwich a prophet? I get the feeling (and correct me if I'm wrong) that Samwich was chosen to be raised up less out of deliberate choice and more they were the ant Jessie happened to choose. While I feel like Samwich considers themselves a prophet, or at least a clergyant, of Jessie, does Jessie reciprocate in the act of being the Prophets God? Or does she just continue life and Samwich watches from the sidelines? If the former, how does Jessie react to someone with the blind devotion of a prophet? If the latter, does Samwich understand they are not part of Jessie's life at all?

And;

I keep thinking about the panel from the Shiloh soda comic where Shiloh is finally commanded to get the pop. The fact it's right->left to show the uncanny nature of the act. Shiloh's withering expression. The fact they're arguing over a problem Jessie created and then had to solve. The fact the solution is disatisfactory being reflected in layout and design. It's such a good character moment for the both of them. Makes me mental. Scratches the good parts of my brain. I like it

i think jessie doesn't consider samwich a prophet, and probably doesn't think of them much outside of when they insert their presence directly in front of her. a prophet imo would need to act as a mediator between God and the masses to deliver info that God won't, for some reason, just communicate to everyone directly. to jessie, sam is probably more like a spider she sees in the corner of her room; she knows she's not supposed to want to kill it, and it's probably catching bugs she doesn't want to deal with, and also it's more effort than she wants to put forth to go kill it. later in the comic, she might see sam as vaguely friend-shaped due to their constant availability to provide unrequited and unconditional emotional support while jessie ruins her relationship. to sam, they might be closer to an apostle or missionary than a prophet. their relationship is not particularly special from jessie's point-of-view, which has always been abundantly clear to samwich.

that is to say that sam would function exactly the same regardless of whether they ever had direct contact with jessie or not, whereas a prophet would not be able to... prophesize without some form of contact from god. jessie's actions naturally insinuate her beliefs and psychology, like above, which sam has spent hundreds of hours collecting info on and poring over, then distilling the deductions and promulgating them. i definitely think they self-identify as clergy (although idk if jessie sees any of them in such an official light, they are all just oomf's to her or something even in person).

also yeah i noticed it read RTL and i just did not feel like drawing two separate panels instead. i liked shiloh's extremely subtle smirks too much to sacrifice it and try to redraw it, specifically.

Anyways, here’s Haruka Amamiya. Haruka comes one of the poorer families in Sakuragi High’s student body. After her mother died in middle school, her family lost most of their income. However, Haruka’s father does his best to provide her with everything she needs. Most of her belongings don’t cost much, and more expensive things like her hair being dyed and permed are bought with her own money.

Haruka is sort of an outcast at Sakuragi High, and while she has a social group she spends time around, she’s pretty alienated from them as they consider her a poser and a pathetic try-hard, especially after her mother’s death when her father became depressed and alcoholic and Haruka began to lean on her friends far more for social connection. She’s a people pleaser and a social butterfly who has a hard time knowing when to stop trying to win someone over. Due to all this, she sees Akki as something of a kindred spirit and feels a sense of belonging with her. She calls Akki “Ki-chan”, and tries hard to reach out to her, considering her a friend and someone she can trust with anything.

Haruka, being a new member of the drama club, is adjusting fine to the play, but socially feels completely alienated. However, she continues to keep up hope with an “I can fix it” attitude, believing that she can and will win them over if she’s kind enough.

While I’d initially written Haruka as having a crush on Akki, I don’t think the idea of her being romantically infatuated with Akki adds anything of worth to the narrative, and have since decided to scrap it. Instead, Haruka simply wants Akki to feel like people care about her because she knows what it’s like to feel like no one does, and she feels like she and Akki are more alike by default than she is to anyone else. When she notices Akki begins to display concerning behavior, she attempts to reach out to her, but can’t really breach the subject because she’s scared of upsetting Akki and instead invites her to join play practice to help her rehearse her scene to make her feel better.

However, as Akki becomes progressively more cruel, cold, paranoid, and obsessed with her crush on Satoru, she only embodies the view everyone else has of her, but Haruka believes Akki is, or was, at one point, a good person, and notices her deteriorating behavior as suspicious as it seems to correlate with the missing person cases around the school. Haruka doesn’t want to believe Akki is a murderer, because she doesn’t think Akki is that kind of person, but she may turn out to be the one to set Akki’s most formidable rival in her way- someone whose eye isn’t on Satoru with affection, but on her with suspicion.

After that teacher disappears, there isn’t a doubt in Haruka’s mind that her friend is a murderer. Haruka is devastated, convincing herself this is all her fault for inviting Akki to play practice instead of just asking her why she was stalking Satoru or seemed so unlike herself. Which may have inspired Akki, but Haruka blaming it all on herself is completely unfair. If anything, it’s Kanae’s fault, or the fault of whatever made Kanae totally OK with the fucked up shit she pulled 30 years ago. Regardless, Haruka believes it’s her own fault, and decides she has to put a stop to it, if there’s anything she can do, anything at all, she has to do it.

Hello! I saw this blog the other day, and I wanted to see if you could redraw my OC? Anyway, this is Melanie, a character in my AU who is the daughter of Greg and Black Diamond/Carbonado. I used a base by Artistic-Raven on DeviantArt that was derived from a piece by dreambigstars, since I can't draw worth a damn. I hope that's okay!

As for color references:

Hair and Eyes: Same as Steven's

Skin: A little darker than Greg

Gem: Black

Shirt: Basically Greg's old Mr. Universe shirt (black with a yellow star)

Pants: Navy blue

Shoes: Black converse

A little more about Melanie:

She is Steven's older half-sister by exactly two years.

Unlike Steven, Melanie aged normally, which is why she looks like a normal 16 year old.

She's about the same height as Lapis.

Her weapon is a chakram.

In Future, her hair is now in a pixie cut, her shirt is now a deep purple, and she has a denim jacket tied around her waist.

The base was traced by someone else other than the original artist right? I'm not sure if the artist consented to that, and I assume no. Consider this one done out of pity I guess? Because the whole "I can't draw" some people do is just tiring.

Do you think every artist starts drawing and starts drawing perfectly, do you really think art works like that? I started drawing veery poorly and if I didn't continue, I would not be able to draw this piece for you. Consistency and learning is important in something so subjective like art and if you get stuck on "I draw bad" you'll never get around.

A good idea is still a good idea regardless of the style, and the execution of that idea matters. If you excuse yourself on that, you'll never start. We have more information/help than ever before, people who do bases for free and tutorials!

A negative mindset is a snake that never stops biting itself. I wanna draw > I draw > It looks bad > I don't wanna draw. Art is a way to express yourself, not to repress.

You need to focus on what makes you happy. You don't wanna share it because you think it looks bad? Then don't. Keep it to yourself until you think it looks better and you're proud to share it. Wanna learn how to draw? Look of tutorials, seek help and information and DRAW.

Or if you don't wanna draw, then just commission artists! There are so many choices!
