the long noon stretches across the corridor, languid and still. there is an abstract mixing of artificial with natural as streams of sun-light curl over ridges and windows, warming his face, his hands, his tired eyes. it's a comfortable warmth. one he favours and relishes in despite the apprehensive breathes and fervent murmurs of others as he shoulders past. oranges and yellows encroach on the dead white of the walls, a lilting reminder of summer days where there wasn't a persistance of red-filled torments and indistinct dreams that protrude with rusted emotions long-abated. [ he thinks to elbow's bleeding, smearing the walls and dislocated shoulders. he thinks to his palms before the callouses and what his years-ago selves would think of him now. ]

suddenly, the sun feels more choking than comforting. the bustling chatter of other students begins to grate on his ears, lips instinctively curing into a tense sneer. katsuki tries, almost desperate, to cling onto the silk-lined thoughts but finds nothing. just a frail shadow and a guilt so intense it makes his stomach churn, hands spark. he hates it. how quickly moods can change with just a pathetic reminder that he failed has been failing for months now. it was simple, before. to see the world as him and the rest, and the rest weren't worth a wasted breath. they were all mere fodder to line the rankings he'd stand tall at, meek and drowsed by the fume of poppies telling them they were good enough. ( was it simplier? or just easier? ) but life has a funny way of shattering your comprehension with pain and sepulchre.

the door slams as he enters, expression already near explosive. ❛ mr. aizawa said i had to see you. dunno what the fuck for so it'd better be quick.   ❜

Quick reminder since apparently it bears reminding in both directions: if bigoted people, closed-minded people overall, or your own internalized insecurities misinterpret a queer person’s message in a way that hurts/endangers you, yeah, it sucks, but it’s not the fault of the queer person in question, nor should it be a reason for them to silence themselves. They’re probably as hurt/pissed as you are that someone misinterpreted and misused their message to do harm.

Of course sadly there’ll still be queer people that actually DO mean harm and dismissal to other queer people – I ain’t speaking for those and it’s not the best way to ensure their and others’ wellbeing imo. I’m just saying – not all people will be like that. That’s what I want to believe. So hopefully let’s not put everyone in the same bag, keep supporting each other, WHILE allowing each other to advocate for our own visibility, without having to self-erase or self-censor to accomodate to what haters might say.

It’ll be tougher this way, maybe, because humans seem to like to draw extreme conclusions very quick, but I don’t believe there’s any better way for us all to be alright and stay alright on the long run.
