life lesson from lettie llondonfog- get refundable tickets/hotel reservations for a high-cost flight planned months in advance, january me saved my trip!
it has been a MARATHON of a day rearranging flights/hotels/booked events to shift my trip that was supposed to start today out to start on sunday. my mother woke up this morning with the worst case of strep throat ever after having no symptoms the previous night. she was able to get in to our doctor today and get antibiotics, thank goodness, and she'll be back to normal by the weekend. and thank god i took off two weeks from work as a reward to myself which allowed me the flexibility to shift everything a few days to the right. i'm a little bummed we lost our flight upgrades and that the weather looks like it'll be rainy the entire time that we're there, but we're still going and that's the most important thing!!!
i feel like i can finally breathe now that i've replanned out our schedules haha sorry i'm a freak that finds peace in nicely laid out excel docs and travel journals :') but it about broke my heart to hear my mom's panicked sobbing on the phone at 2am this morning thinking that she ruined our trip, i'm so glad that i was able to salvage it for the both of us<3
#lettie travels#i think that was the tag? LOL#but god WHAT A DAY.#sorry for the kinda vent? i've been running on fumes since 2am lol#but i feel much better and my mom is back to herself again <3

girl!dad aaron reading to his daughter over the phone while on a case! 🥹 just like that one episode of jj and henry 😭🥰
nightmares
i will sob. 🥺 i'm also setting this in ellie's bad dreams era :( cw; fem!reader, girl dad!aaron, slight angst, fluff <3
"It looks like this is his comfort zone." Using a red marker, Spencer circled an area on the map. "If we pinpoint-"
As he was continuing his thought, Aaron's phone rang. He fully expected to see Penelope's name, anticipating her call as she was working her magic to narrow down a pool of potential unsubs. However, his eyebrows furrowed in worry as he saw it was from you instead.
"Excuse me." He spoke lowly yet urgently, keeping his eyes on his screen and hurrying away with no hesitation, missing the team's concerned glances.
"Hey," he answered, closing the door to the empty conference room behind him. There was knowing feeling deep in his chest - and a grim one at that. "Everything alright?"
"Kinda... no." You switched up quickly with a sigh, slight distress in your voice. "I'm sorry, I know you're busy. But can you spare a minute or two?"
"Another nightmare?" Aaron's eyes shot to the clock perched on the wall. While it was somewhat early for him, it was getting late back home, timezones to thank. And doing the math quickly, bedtime for the kids had been about two hours ago. So sadly this - right on schedule.
You hummed in confirmation, beginning with the positive first. "She fell asleep in her bed tonight, actually. Went down easy, not much protest. But then woke up crying, and was nearly inconsolable for a while. She's with me now." Your eyes shifted down to your frightened daughter besides you, who was inching closer and closer to seemingly making herself smaller. "And keeps asking for you."
Aaron glanced out; the team was still preoccupied, discussing the geographical profile amongst themselves, and could definitely manage without him for a while longer. "Yeah, I have some time."
There was a quick rustle as you set your phone down, placing it on speaker. Your voice was farther now, not by much, but it felt treacherously distant, as if more miles had been added. "It's Daddy, honey."
"Hey Ellie Bellie." Aaron's tone quieted, his face softening as he spoke. "What's the matter?"
A light sniffle came from the other end. "I had a scary dream."
"A scary dream, huh?" He repeated, an achy pang producing in his chest. Ellie's nightmares have been occurring for a while now, and indubitably becoming a problem. You both expected the dreams to run their course, eventually pass, and things would return to normal. But as time moved forward, it was becoming clear it was well beyond that as they worsened. "It's okay, you're safe with Mom now, right?"
Ellie nodded, unknowingly to him. Her small voice cracked, laced with tears. "I want you."
"I know, and I'll be home when work lets me, I promise. You can even use my pillow tonight too, if you want." He bit down onto his lip as Ellie mumbled a small 'okay' in response. Hard. "Or how about a story? Would that help you feel better?"
Her head rose up and down again, prompting you to speak up as Aaron was met with only her silence.
"We have a few right here." You reached across her, grabbing the few storybooks that frequented Aaron's nightstand and settling back against your own pillow.
"Your pick sweetheart." Aaron pulled a chair from the table, sitting down and making himself comfortable momentarily.
"Goodnight Moon?"
Goodnight Moon, also one of Jack's favorites when he was younger. Between him and Ellie, Aaron's read it so many times, he had the entirety of the book memorized. In addition, Ellie's other, more lengthy favorites - he had gone through and cleverly taken a picture of each page, all stored safely in his camera roll for instances such as tonight. No matter where he happened to be, he could read the text, while also drawing attention to and discussing the images with her.
"Sure. Get all comfy and cozy up to Mom, yeah?"
Ellie nestled herself more into your side, her head resting on your arm as she death-gripped onto her plush bunny. You adjusted the duvet to adequately cover the two of you, scooting down and propping the book up for the two of you to see.
"We're ready when you are." You told Aaron, brushing a few stray strands of hair away from Ellie's face.
As your brief sentence concluded, a harsh pinch formed behind Aaron's eyes, the guilt creeping in as he pictured the two of you laid together, where he also should've been. His little girl was beside herself in fear, wanted him, and yet here he was. Far away on the other side of the country. He felt as if he were failing her; letting her down.
Aaron swallowed to even out his voice, to sound as cheery as he possibly could, and to refrain any agony from being heard. He took a deep, yet small guttural breath.
"In the great green room..."

BENEATH THE NOISE ᯓᡣ𐭩
Pairing: Rafe Cameron x College!Reader
Summarize: It’s hard to deal with deception when you’ve given your best. Luckily, Rafe knows how to get to you.
Warning(s): self depreciation, a hint of anxiety.
A/N: Thank you so much for all the love in my works <3
The grade wasn’t supposed to define you. That’s what everyone says: “It’s just a number, not a measure of your worth.” But as you sit staring at the email on your screen, the words blur, letters and numbers melting together until you can only feel one thing: failure.
The exam’s grade - the one you poured sleepless nights, early mornings, and everything in between into – sits there in stark black and white, unchangeable, final. You can’t look away, even as the panic bubbles into shame and then into the familiar, relentless self-criticism. Even as the salty tears begin to blurry your vision.
“How could I have been so stupid?” you think, teeth pressing into your lower lip. “All those hours… wasted. What’s the point if this is the result?” The thoughts spiral faster, slipping away from you. “Maybe I’m not cut out for this. Maybe I’m just fooling myself. Everyone else makes it look so easy.”
With a shaky breath, you shut your laptop and curl up on your bed, tugging the blanket over yourself as if it could shield you from the whirlwind in your mind, from the world and those mocking numbers. You feel your phone buzz, but you ignore it. Then it buzzes again, and again. It’s Rafe, no doubt, checking in, but you can’t bring yourself to reply. You’re not in the mood for talking and pretending to be fine, or worse – the pity you know will be laced into his voice if he finds out how badly you did.
But Rafe isn’t one to be easily put off. He leaves message after message, each one laced with growing concern and slight irritation.
“Hey, baby. Just checking in. How’d the test go?”
A minute later, “Everything okay? Call me when you get this. You’re working me, baby.”
Another text, his humor slipping through: “I’m gonna assume you’re just taking a nap and ignoring the world like you usually do when you’re stressed.”
And then, finally, a call. You glance at the screen, seeing his name flash, but even though part of you aches to hear his voice, you can’t bring yourself to answer. Instead, you turn off the phone entirely, sinking further into the blanket cocoon, feeling more alone and defeated with every minute that ticks by.
Rafe spends the better part of an hour trying to reach you. First, it’s gentle check-ins, then some light teasing, then a note of worry threading through his texts. When all his messages stay stuck on “delivered” with no response, he throws on a jacket, grabs his car keys, and heads out the door. He’s had enough off of it.
The drive is a blur, his hands gripping the steering wheel as he runs through what he’ll say to you when he gets there. He’d scold you for being a brat and making him worry when all you had to do was type some goddamn words on your phone. It wasn’t so hard. He didn’t even want to think about the possibility of something actually happening to you.
By the time he arrives at your place, it’s late enough that the lights outside are dim, casting long shadows across the driveway. He knocks once, twice in your bedroom’s door once your mom lets him in.
“She’s been there for hours.” Your mom sighs, looking up at the stairs as she puts your untouched plate of dinner in the refrigerator. “The results of her exam came in and well… You know how hard she can be with herself.”
Rafe rubs hand on his neck, he had completely forgot that the result would be today and he knew how hard you’ve been studying.
He knocks on your door once and when there’s no answer, he gently turns the knob, letting himself in.
It’s quiet inside, save for the faint sound of your breathing as he steps into your room. He sees you there, huddled under the blankets, your back to the door, your shoulders slightly shaking. His heart clenches in pain and worry as you look so small hiding in the many blankets. Wordlessly, Rafe slips off his shoes, walking over to your bed. Without a word, he lifts the edge of the blanket and slides in beside you, his warmth immediately seeping through the layers of fabric that separate you.
For a moment, he doesn’t say anything, letting his presence speak for itself. Slowly, he wraps an arm around you, pulling you into his chest. You stiffen at first, your pride fighting the comfort he’s offering, but then the dam breaks, and you lean into him, hiding your face in his shoulder.
He strokes your hair gently, his voice a soft murmur. “I’m here. You don’t have to say anything if you don’t want to.” He presses a light kiss to the top of your head, letting the silence settle for a few moments longer before he speaks again.
“Want me to talk to your professor?” he murmurs, a playful edge creeping into his tone. “Because I could pay a visit, you know… straighten him out, remind him that no one messes with my girl.” He squeezes you a little tighter. “Just say the word.”
You can’t help the small, broken laugh that escapes you, muffled by his shirt. You know he’s kidding – or at least, half-kidding – but there’s a part of you that believes he might actually show up at your professor’s office if you asked him to. That thought alone lightens the weight on your chest, even if just a little.
“You don’t need to go after my professor, Rafe,” you mumble, a hint of sarcasm breaking through the sadness. “Even though… I wouldn’t mind seeing the look on his face if you did, it wasn’t his fault.”
Rafe chuckles softly, squeezing your shoulder. “If you change your mind, I’ve got my car gassed up and ready.”
The laugh fades, and you fall silent again, the weight of the failure still pressing down on you. After a few moments, you pull back slightly, looking up at him. “Rafe… what if I’m just not good enough? What if I’ve been trying so hard for nothing?”
You wrap your arms around his torso, fingers absently tracing random shapes on his t-shirt as the words left your trembling lips. “Maybe I should just quit it. Spare myself all the deception.”
He keeps his hold on you, his voice staying low and gentle. “Baby, you’re one of the smartest people I know. This grade? It doesn’t change that. Not even a little.”
You start to protest, but he shushes you, brushing a thumb across your cheek. “No, I’m serious. You’re so hard on yourself, and I get it. But you need to remember that one test doesn’t undo everything you are, everything you’ve done. It’s just one small thing in a million great things about you.”
The words come out softly and so certain, almost like a confession, and you see the shift in his expression as he meets your gaze. He lifts a hand, gently tucking a stray strand of hair behind your ear, his eyes soft and steady. “Then you try again, and again, if you have to. But you’re anything but ‘not good enough.’ You’re brilliant, and hard-working, and stubborn as hell. I’ve seen you tackle way harder stuff than this.”
You shake your head, unable to accept the kindness in his voice. “But I… I feel so dumb, Rafe. Like all this effort is just… wasted. Like I’m not cut out for this.”
Rafe’s expression softens even more, and he tilts your chin up, making sure you’re looking into his eyes. “Baby, listen to me. One test, one mistake – none of that changes who you are or what you’re capable of. You’re allowed to be human, to mess up sometimes. It doesn’t make you any less amazing, okay?”
His words linger, breaking down the wall you’ve built around your pride and pain. For the first time since you got the grade, you start to believe that maybe, just maybe, he’s right. You were being too harsh in yourself.
“Thank you,” you whisper, your voice barely audible as you place a kiss to his cheek.
“Always,” he replies, giving you a small, reassuring smile. “Now, let’s stay here as long as you need, but when you’re ready, we’ll go grab some terrible takeout, or watch that show you like. Whatever you want. But for now… just let me hold you.”
You nod, settling against him, the rise and fall of his chest calming the storm in your mind. And as you lie there, surrounded by his warmth and steady heartbeat, the self-criticism starts to soften, the harsh thoughts fading, leaving only the quiet reassurance that you’ll be okay.
As you lie curled up against him, letting his warmth seep into you, Rafe’s hand gently runs along your back in soothing circles. You can feel the steady beat of his heart, grounding you, pulling you away from the spiral of self-doubt. After a long silence, you finally lift your head, your face inches from his as you meet his gaze. There’s no judgment in his eyes, just quiet understanding, and something even softer.
Slowly, he reaches up, brushing a thumb across your cheek, and you feel yourself lean into his touch. His eyes flicker down to your lips, and after a beat, he leans in, capturing your lips in a kiss that’s soft, gentle, like he’s pouring all his reassurance into you without a single word. His fingers slip to the back of your neck, his hold gentle but certain, as if anchoring you to the moment, grounding you in his presence and pulling you away from the loud thoughts in your mind.
He pulls back just slightly, his forehead resting against yours, and you feel his breath, warm and steady. “I’m here,” he whispers, his voice barely more than a murmur. “No grade, no test can change that. You’re more than enough, and I’m not going anywhere.” His thumb grazes your cheek again, his eyes filled with warmth and conviction, and in that moment, the weight on your heart feels a little lighter, the storm in your mind a little quieter.

hi jade!! if ur still up for kbd, can we see an instance where mom feels insecure about her parenting like she feels like she's doing something wrong or being a bad mom (she's not) and Steve just helps her through it? thank<3
KBD —Steve can make you feel better just by being himself. mom!reader, 1.4k
Wren wriggles like a worm on the floor. You’ve spread her baby mat out over the rug, rainbow hearts and stars and smiley faces all around her.
“Mom, what did you say? What’s tummy time?” Beth asks. “I can’t ’member what you said.”
Wren whines. Her face is smushed into the floor again.
“Tummy time is to help her develop her muscles,” you say. “It’s supposed to help her hold her head up by herself. Not working yet…”
You slide your hand between Wren’s face and the floor.
“Come on, baby, you can do it,” you say.
“Try her on your chest,” Steve says, Dove in his arms as he walks through the kitchen doorway into the living room. “She’s much happier when I lay her on my chest before her nap. I lay real flat on the couch.”
You scoop Wren up under her armpits. Her hair is getting much longer now, the same wavy texture as her father’s, though as she’s grown older her hair has thickened. You’re sure she’s gonna have full curls when she’s older, but for now, you hold her to your chest and brush a hand through those waves thoughtfully. It’s much darker than Steve’s, as are her eyes.
She gurgles as you carry her to the couch. When you lay down, Beth crawls to your side to ask if she can sit on your feet.
“What are you upto now?” you ask Steve, laying Wren out on your chest. You realise that’s not gonna work and pull her down so her face and neck are flat on your stomach instead.
“We just washed our hands,” Steve says, letting Dove down. “She made a little mess, that’s all. Need something?”
“Come n’ sit down, baby,” you murmur, beckoning him in.
Steve doesn’t need telling twice. He sits in the armchair by your head and feels around for the TV remote. Things go quiet, Dove with her Barbie’s to the right of the room where all the toys live, Beth squeezing your ankle, and Steve clicking through channels until he finds the family movie channel. You tease Wren’s cheek where she rests, but she won’t lift her head. You’re scared she’ll smother herself.
“Honey, what am I doing wrong?” you ask.
“Doing what?”
“Tummy time? She never wants to lift her head.” You frown. “S’like she doesn’t wanna see me.”
“Maybe you’re just comfy.”
You sigh and lift Wren again. When she sees you, she smiles. “Ba?” she says.
“Hiya, baba,” you say softly, “what’s wrong? You don’t wanna play with mama?”
“Ba,” she says again, dribble curling down her chin as her hand grabs for your face. You let her down against your chest, unperturbed when she grabs your ear.
“No tummy time, then.”
“That’s fine, she was on her tummy for a long time earlier,” Steve says, “she’s probably just tired out.”
“It hurts my neck to hold it up all the time,” Beth says.
You scrub your eye. Are you hurting her? You hadn’t realised she was tired, but how could you not know that? You’re her mom.
You’re tired, too. You murmur a sorry to Beth and take your legs from under her. You curl in, pill bug style, baby curled in with you. “Sorry,” you whisper, kissing her forehead.
“Ba,” she says again, her spit on your cheek.
You’ve had one of those shitty mom days. You burnt the last bagels in the toaster so Beth had to have toast, which she doesn’t even really like. You tore Avery’s Princess Polly dress trying to clean the sleeve. Dove cried because you didn’t listen to her story, Wren won’t do tummy time, and Steve wouldn’t have done any of those things. He’s amazing, and you’re just… you. He makes being a dad look so easy, he was basically born to do it, and you love your kids but you suck. Today sucks.
Wren babbles all over you. “Ma-ba ma,” she says, then, “grrrrr.”
“You growling at me, baby?”
She lets out a bunch of gr’s and wr’s. You rub her back, tickle it until she giggles. Even the sound of her bumpy baby laughter doesn’t improve your mood.
Steve goes to the kitchen in silence. He opens the freezer a couple of times, and then he’s calling for the girls to come and have some ice cream and chocolate fudge. Avery tumbles down the stairs from her room. She could take the hallway to the kitchen, but she stumbles into the living room instead. “Hi, mommy,” she says, smiling widely, “are you tired?”
“A lot,” you confess.
“Can a kiss make you feel better?”
You turn your cheek and poke it. “Please. Just one,” —she darts forward to kiss you soundly— “go have your ice cream, baby, quick, before Dove eats it.”
Steve dodges her. He has a bowl when he returns. He says your name so nicely you don’t think twice about taking it. An ice cream sundae melts inside, three scoops of thick ice cream adorned with cut fruit and a chocolate fudge heart.
“It looked better five minutes ago. I did yours first.”
“Where’s yours?” you ask.
“I thought I’d share yours,” he says. “No?”
You grin. “Nope.”
“Alright. Can I sit with you, at least?”
You straighten up. Wren stays in one arm, your bowl rests on your leg. You lift the other to take your spoon, while Steve sits next to you, not a millimetre of space between your two bodies.
He doesn’t ask for the baby, which is actually nice. Usually eating with a child in tow is irksome, but you feel a little more capable without his asking. And besides, Steve’s fully trained. You could drop any baby into his lap at any hour and he’d take them without complaint.
He doesn’t ask you what’s wrong, but you know you could tell him. Can tell he’s waiting for a confession, or ready to let it go.
You don’t want to talk about it. Admitting your failings is too embarrassing, sometimes, and he’s biased, so he’ll tell you anything to make it go away if he needs to. Instead, you sit, you eat your ice cream, and you rest your face against his shoulder, listening to the girls scratch their bowls in the kitchen.
“You can go to bed early, if you need to,” he says gently.
“No, I’m okay.”
“How about a shower? A walk?” He lifts his head to press his nose against you. “Just let me know what you want.”
“I’m okay, really.”
“Okay,” he says, both of you aware that you’re not fully okay, and that he doesn’t believe it. “Can I have some of those strawberries?”
You scoop up some strawberries and lift the spoon, but notice movement from the corner of your eye that makes you laugh in surprise. Wren is opening her mouth, waiting for a bite. She’s just on the cusp of being old enough for soft foods, but she’s never expressed any interest, until now.
“Oh, do you want to try?” you ask, laughing. “I’m sorry, baby, this is much too sugary for your first bite.” You lean down to kiss her head. “Sorry,” you murmur into her hair, “we’ll have to find you something tomorrow.”
Steve smiles so hard you can hear it. “Wow, soft foods already!” he says to her, rubbing the tip of his finger up and down her chest. “Our big girl, huh? Are you mama’s big girl? Daddy’s big girl?”
“Ma,” she agrees, before her lips part again for a taste.
Steve looks into your face proudly, eyes darting between you both. He looks at you like you’ve just hung the moon, when you didn’t do much of anything.
“What should we make her?” he asks.
“I don’t know, what do you think she’ll like?”
“What do you think?”
You abandon your spoon to soothe one of her curls away from her forehead. “I don’t know… she looks like an applesauce girl, doesn’t she? Or maybe some sweet potato.”
Steve wraps his arm around your shoulders. “We’ll have sweet potato mash for dinner, then, and she can have the first bite. Good idea, angel.”
You turn into his hold, letting him nose at your ear.

Happy birthday!! Harry Potter or Percy Jackson please!!
a continuation of 1 2 3
There's something off about Percy.
Actually, Thalia should rephrase - there are several things extremely off about Percy. It's not worth repeating, and barely worth saying, because they're all just that obvious.
They're sitting around a fire in the middle of the woods, Luke cooking the several fish that Percy had managed to spear onto his sword, which was ridiculous for an entirely different set of reasons.
"Are you a god?" she asks suspiciously.
He makes a choking sound that she thinks might be a laugh and he gives her a grin that she refuses to be charmed by. Luke is doing that enough for all of them. "Oddly, not the first time I've been asked that, but I'm just as much a demigod as you are. My mother's mortal."
"Present tense," Annabeth says, her little face screwed up into a scowl. "She's not dead, then. Is she mean?"
"Annabeth," she and Luke say at the same time. One day they're going to teach this girl tact.
Percy shakes his head, leaning back on his hands, completely unphased by Annabeth's directness. That's a point in his favor. But only a very little one. "Nah, she's great. Best mom there is. But she's mortal, and I'm," he gestures to himself.
A demigod as powerful as Percy must attract a lot of monsters, ones that he can apparently deal with, but would be deadly to his mother. Thalia feels a twinge of sympathy. It's one thing to have the messed up family dynamics that she, Luke, and Annabeth do, and it's another to have a mother that he loves and cares for and who he can't be around with endangering her life. "How long have you been on your own?"
His gaze goes distant and maybe she could learn some tact herself, but she thought it was a simple question, just factual and not personal. "I haven't lived with my mom full time since I was twelve, but I wasn't exactly on my own."
"Camp," Luke says, a hardness to his gaze.
Percy's lips twitch. "Chiron doesn't know who I am. But almost everyone who trained me did come from Camp Half-Blood."
"Including who taught you how to use a sword?" Luke asks. Thalia knows he takes pride in his swordsmanship, and she also knows that Percy is better than he is. Part of inviting him along was probably to get Percy to teach him, which Thalia can stomach a bit better than Luke getting distracted by a pretty face.
Percy goes quiet again, gazing at Luke with an expression that makes Thalia shift closer to Annabeth. "Yeah. They were from camp too."

I had an all-nighter yesterday. My bitching lady boss messed up this month, but it's her employees like me who have to pay for that. So we are overworking to the bone and losing all sleep. Still we are nowhere near finishing this project. Gangbanging her would be a better solution than this. She sure looks tasty as fuck!
Anyway, I have just woken up after only 3 hours of sleep. It's 9 AM in the morning and en route to brew some coffee from my state of the art coffee maker in the kitchen. My step daughter Minjeong is making some cereal for herself, looking as small, cute and precious as always.
“Good morning appa!” Minjeong says sweetly. “You could just ask me, I would brew some coffee for you. You came home so late at night.” Her concerned soft expression made me feel a little warmer, she really cares about her family members. She is looking at me like a puppy for an answer.
“It's ok Minjeong, a big mug of coffee and I’ll be good.” I assure her, pat her head and go to the coffee maker. “Where is your mom?” I ask her. “Aha, mom went to see her friends. They have a get together today.” “I see, she is having a good time.” Fuck it, here I am working nonstop and she is having parties. I could use a good fuck now.
My wife is 15 years older than me. She had Minjeong very early in her 17's and raised her as a single mom until we got married a year ago. Her mom is such a hot bitch and rich that I got hooked after a few nights together. She is 40, I am 25, Minjeong 23 so it's kinda awkward between us as dad and daughter. We are more like friends than having a paternal relationship.
I take a jar of coffee bean and about to grind it, suddenly Minjeong asks, “You must be feeling lonely appa. If you wish I can accompany you... Just like umma!” She whispers the last few words, but it's enough to send shivers down my spine. I turn my head toward her and unknowingly my hands shake a little.
Minjeong has lifted her striped t-shirt above her chest, giving me a view of her small but perky and pointy boobs covered by black cotton lingerie. Her other hand has pulled down one side of her shorts, showing me her camel toe hiding behind her black cotton panty. But it's her slim yet toned tummy that always makes me feel weak.
She has the most delicious looking abs ever. She may not have big boobs like her mommy or big ass like my boss, but she still has that slender yet toned abs and perfect vertical belly button that can make any man droll. All the pilat she does daily really made her into such a tease.
I take a deep breath. I am already too much on edge, got a truck load of work and I really don't want to cheat on my wife with her own daughter. “Ha ha ha is how they joke nowadays. Good grief, thanks for lifting my mood ha ha ha…..” I awkwardly answer back. I feel shiver again as I stiffly turn my head.
I start grinding my coffee ignoring Minjeong who is standing there with a wanton pouty expression. Must be her raging hormones, just like me. But I am not touching her, she is now my daughter. No way, abstain abstain abst…..
Someone’s long finger and thin arms embrace me from behind, someone's little squishy boobs and pointy nipples press on my back, someone's hot breaths send shivers down; It's Minjeong who hugged me tightly from behind. “I want you appa… inside me!” She whispers like a siren.
Fuck it Minjeong. Why is she making it so difficult? I try to act cool and say, “S-Sure Minjeong, I may spend the day with you INSIDE your room. I-I’ll bring my laptop there after I make cof....” Someone's hands grab my bulge over my pajama, both hands start stroking it. “Damn it Minjeong, what the fuck!” I lost my cool at last.
“Appa, it's you who used me first.” She pulls my assets out. One hand stroking my cock, the other clawing my balls. “That day you forced me down and used me for your pleasure, then why are you rejecting me now?” Her voice is full of lust. “Use me again appa!” She starts grinding her little boobs against my back now, her hands getting faster and tighter. It's making me insanely horny, abstain abst……
It was three months after my marriage. My wife was on a business trip. Minjeong was doing some yoga wearing tights. Her tight nipples were poking through her sports bra, her pussy lips were bulging out everytime she was spreading her legs. The low waist of her leggings showed the entirety of her toned sweaty abs, making her just irresistible. I couldn't take the bitchy appearance of her anymore, my penis got completely erected to fuck her.
“P-please go to your room Minjeong and do Yoga there. Let me watch TV in peace.” I warned, but she didn't listen. “I am not obstructing you, I am not even making any noise!” She scoofs me off. Back then she didn't respect me much because of our little age difference. On top of that it's her mom’s house, so she always looked down on me. My raging anger sparked my hardly contained fuel of lust and I lost all control.
I turned on the loudspeaker and cranked it high. Then I abused her body like a cheap sex doll right there, right then. She bleeded from the start, hinting I took her virginity. Tearing her legging apart I claimed my step daughter's holes as mine. She screamed, she cried, she protested, she begged, she tried to fight back. In response I beat her up, humiliated her, kissed her like a maniac and pumped her full of my cum repeatedly for an hour until she submitted to call me appa with respect. At the end I pissed on her totally broken body as a final act of humiliation.
Since then she never acted up, always called me appa like a little obideant girl and wore dresses that won't arouse me to fuck her up. Especially hiding her tummy from me. I decided not to abuse her in future, I love my wife and fucking her daughter is wrong for an appa. She is my daughter too now, that was just an impulsive accident and mostly Minjeong’s fault for wearing a seductive dress, being such a rapebait.
I yank her hands of my goodies and turn back, I need to take control of this situation. “L-LOOK MINJEONG, WAIT A SEC!” I end up shouting, but lower my voice immediately, “That was an accident. I was just out of my mind and you were being too seductive with your poses and dresses and all….. I am sorry, ok?” I forgot my dick is still out and now poking her delicious abs.
I try to pull my pants hurriedly but she grabs my fully erected 7 inch cock strongly with both of her hands and starts stroking my length properly face to face. Damn, she’ll make me cum at this rate. I try to reason with her. “LET'S not do it, we are father and daughter. Step, but still I won't fuck you ever again. LET'S STOP!” I grab her shoulder instead of her busy hands, deep down I am enjoying every stroke from her.
“Then throw me back appa, you were so dominant when you forced me. I cried, I bleeded, I begged but your cock didn't stop thrusting in me. I was in pain but you didn't listen a bit. Your hand didn't lose its choke on my neck either.” She grabs one of my hands and puts it around her neck, her hands clenching my balls painfully. “Little me is your plaything appa, throw me back if you don't want to use me again. Not like I can stop you!” She leans close to my chest, her needy face upward almost like wants to kiss me.
I can't answer her back, I can't throw her back either. Honestly I wouldn't mind fucking her like a bitch every single day, her body is even tastier than her mom. She is more beautiful than her mom. Her age makes her a better partner for me than her mom. Fuck, she would even make a better wife than her bitching mom whom I first fucked in a night club. So despite knowing it's wrong, despite knowing I shouldn't fuck her again, I can't simply bring myself together to throw her back.
She looks at me with her bewitching puppy eyes, her head tilted with a smirk, “I know you can't throw me back appa. You are such a fucking monster!” She goes onto her knee, my disgustingly long penis close to her mouth. “Let your daughter take your stress away appa. Abuse me again like a sex doll. I have been such a bad girl!” She kisses the tip of my cock, uses it like lipstick to smear my juice on her lips teasing me further.
Seeing her small face beside my comparably huge cock makes me lose all control. In my last effort I try to scare her off, “I’LL TELL YOUR MOM MINJEONG! STOP PLEASE STO…..” She takes my cock in, well only half of it. Her hands are busy stroking the other half and messaging my balls. “DAMN FUCK IT MINJEONG!” I stand like a statue, my hands above my head and I am unable to do anything as my daughter is giving me face.
Sloppy but with effort she is sucking me off. Everytime she takes me in, she tries to go deeper than before. Her deepthroating makes me feel so good that if I knew she could give such a good head, I would keep forcing her every single day. Fuck it, she is not my real daughter and we are similar age. Fuck it all, I am gonna use her like the way she mean. Like the way I should have used her everyday.
Father's hands are blessings for daughter but my cursed hands grab her short bob hair tightly, I buck my hip back and leave only the tip, then push hard to make her gag hitting the back of her throat. “OK YOU FUCKING BITCH, APPA WILL GIVE YOU WHAT YOU WANT!” Now I am face fucking her with such lust that rival the day I forced her. She is trying to fight her gag reflex to take me in but there is only so far I can go in this position.
I pull my cock out her mouth and start choking her with both hands, using her neck as a handle as I start dragging her to the living room. She is still on the ground, between my legs getting dragged on her ass on the floor like a sex doll getting roughly manhandled. Just like what she wanted. I let go of her throat and grab her pussy tightly to lift her light body up. I throw her on the sofa and quickly turn her upside down, her head dangling at the edge of the seat. Her back bented against the backrest, her pussy facing the ceiling.
I pull up her shorts and panties in one go, her wet glistening brown pussy got plump from arousal. That's not my attraction now. I shove my cock in her mouth again, her dangling head aligned her mouth and food pipe in perfect straight line. “You wanted to get face fucked so badly, RIGHT YOU CHEAP WHORE? SO BE IT!” I grab her heels strongly and spread them apart. Her delicious wet peach winking at me, it's been a year since I have seen her pink asset. I push my cock and it slides in completely.
Having no restriction my cock goes all the way in reaching her food pipe. Her body shakes from the intense pressure, pain and gag reflex. But I don't care about her safety. I am only bringing my cock halfway outside, making sure my cock always stays deep in her cheap throat. That's it. I am now fucking her face, deepthroating her foodpipe while she keep choking and gagging around my meat. My cock visibly bulging her thirsty throat with the appa meat she was craving for.
HUGHH PUFF AGGH PUFF ARGHH PUFF ARGH PUFF HUGH PUFF AGH
The tormented plea of Minjeong’s mouthpussy along air escaping her food pipe with every pump fueling my lust, making my morning wood harder. Minjeong’s pussy is now breathing, clenching air with every painful thrust, inviting me to breed her daughter hole once again. I let go of one of her legs, it fell limp. I start rubbing her wet pussy, making her back arch in pleasure.
“Enjoying too much? You bitch, let's see how you can keep enjoying it!” I start slapping her pussy loudly, her body reflexively jerking with every hit. I keep slapping until her pussy becomes full red, her clit has erected to the point of a little horn sticking out. I pinch it with the intention of tearing it apart, immediately her back arch and she starts convulsing. A second later my masochist daughter starts squirting, her hips bucking with unison. I don't stop face fucking while she keep fighting her climax, getting herself drenched in her own juice.
Her hands are pushing me to get my cock out her mouth, her face has flushed full red now. But like that's an option. “WHAT? Does Appa's lollipop don't taste sweet anymore? Die if you have to Minjeong, but keep sucking appa until I am satisfied.” I declare my utmost authority over her and keep using my daughter as a fleshlight, restlessly. My hip aching, Minjeong squirming her body and trying to pull out her head twisting it. No, I won't let my fuck doll escape from me.
I let go of her other ankle and grab her necks with both of my hands. Pull my cock out all the way leaving only the tip in and thrust back in her food pipe as fast and as hard as I can. My hands can feel my cock inside her neck, stretching her gullet with each thrust. I wanted to take a piss after my coffee but this bitch took my pee pee in her mouth before that. So be it, then be my urinal too. “HERE COMES APPA’S HONEY DOWN YOUR GULLET MINJEONG!” And I start pissing straight in her food pipe burying my cock as deep as I can, making sure all of my smelly golden piss fills her tummy.
Minjeong’s face contorted from the burning heat and stinky smell of my yellow morning thick juice. That's the right kind of fluid a bitch like her deserves. After emptying my bladder inside her, I give a few more deep satisfying thrust and pull out. “ARRRG ARGH AHGHH AHHH HURK HAKK HURGGH...” Poor Minjeong, even before she catches her breath and stops retching, piss and half a bowl of cereal start gushing out her filthy mouth. Most of it spurt on the tiles, rest start dripping down her now ruined face.
“YOU ARE SO GROSS MINJEONG!” I mock her as if it's her fault. “Why are you pissing from your mouth? Did appa’s thrust morphed your mouth into an actual pussy? kekeke silly girl!” I give her face some encouraging slap and help her to sit back. “Are you happy being appa’s property, Minjeong?” I squeeze her hair tightly and force her to look at me. Her face is drenching with my piss and cereal, snots dripping from her nose. She somehow say collecting her breath, “Y-you are still a monster appa… I think that's what I love about you!” A masochistic smile shines on her filthy face, that's otherwise always cute.
“You are something else my daughter. You should have told appa how you feel about me, about us” I give her a nasty smirk while my hand targets her face with my gun of a cock and starts fapping, getting pretty close. “I was afraid until I couldn't take it anymore. Use me more from now on appa!” Her lustful plea and filthy face pushes me at the edge at last and I let go. Ropes and ropes of my daddy's milk paint the face of my cute step girl Minjeong, who has submitted herself to be my new woman.
She opens her abused mouth to taste appa's milk. After cumming probably the biggest load I have ever cummed, her face and t-shirt is all sprayed with my batter. Fuck her mom or my boss, as long as I got my good gal I won't need any more bitch. “You clean up Minjeong. Appa coming back to take care of you after I get my coffee.” I slap her face with my cock and go back to make my coffee…
Aha, I was feeling so hazy without my coffee. Man, feeling good after I have a power boost caffeine. Let's get back to work and my toy Minjeong. I look back, and see Minjeong has wiped most of the appa juices from her face except a drop of cum beside her lips. Also didn't gulp the cum that went into her mouth, visible around her tongue. She is taking selcas of her cummed face with an ice cream on her hand. Acting like the cum is ice cream and not her appa’s cream.
“What are you doing baby? Don't tell me you will upload it online!” I am kinda surprised by her boldness. “Already done appa, my friends and followers are liking it on insta hi hi hi hi…” She gives me her warmest smile as if I didn't defile her a moment ago. “You are so nasty Minjeong, I love that about you.” “Make me your woman appa, I am better than my mom. I’ll make you the happiest ever!” Look at her drooling. “What about your mom?” I ask playfully. “You know better than anyone that she is getting pounded senseless somewhere atm!”
That's true. She loves to fuck and get fucked. That's how we found each other. So she definitely won't be lonely without me inside her holes. “Ok Minjeong. But you have to do everything on my whim as my woman. No going back.” I am setting the boundary to let her know who is the dom and sub in our taboo relationship. “Ok appa, I’ll be your obedient little puppy!” “You are really your mom's daughter, you fucking bitch!” I grab her neck again, lift her up and start walking to our room. I have a mountain of work to complete and daughter holes that I need to dig! It's gonna be a long and busy day…
DING DONG DING DONG DING DONG
Our “Father Daughter Whole Day Coupling” project gets interrupted by someone’s unexpected continuous bell. I was pounding Minjeong's ass, locking both of her hands behind, in the pleasant doggystyle on our marital bed. Her cunt already sopping with our combined juice and her ass, after bleeding a little, is now gapped enough to take me in easily. Her mother isn't coming back today. So who the fuck is here to disturb my wholesome day?
With a disgusted expression I check the door cam and see another appetizing daughter at my door. It's Minjeong’s best friend Jimin Yu, the youngest daughter of Yu family. She comes often to hang out with my baby girl. She got a body that was meant for nothing but fucking. Petite perfectly proportioned figure, 34D cup sized boobs that look massive clinging to her little frame, tight curves in all the right places and a face that's even more beautiful than Minjeong… She is the perfect hoe, the aphrodite in flesh!
If I put it like that, then I actually wish she was my step daughter and not Minjeong. Then I could fuck her like I am fucking Minjeong atm… Wait a sec, ain't my daughter's friend is also my daughter. Technically daughter like right? So, if I can have Minjeong, then why can't I have Jimin as my fuck doll too? That's the right thing to do, right? I think, completely oblivious to the fact of all the illogical points. Working like a machine, completely drowning in lust, fucking like rabbits and relying on caffeine solely makes your reasoning like this.
So I devised my master plan of adopting another daughter, sexually. I dress Minjeong up as fast as I can, wiping her pussy and asshole licking and kissing and biting… You get the gist. She opens the door for Jimin and brings her inside. Trying to act as normal as she can but sooner witty Jiminie figures out something is wrong with the place. While I did wipe the piss on our kitchen before, it was still unorganized from our morning playtime and all. Minjeong herself was all flushed and hot from the hours long intercourse so she makes up saying she has got a fever.
Jimin, being the ever compassionate and reliable friend she is, decides to stay with us full day to take care of Minjeong. Fuck, She just spoiled my full day of guilty pleasure so it's another reason that she have to pay back with her body and holes. Jimin feeds Minjeong cooking herself and tucked her on the bed for rest. Exhausted Minjeong falls asleep soon enough. Now is my chance.
I offer Jimin some fine wine for her trouble. She accepts, has no reason to say no. After a few shots she gets flushed and a little drunk. “Minjeong actually lied to you. She doesn't have a fever.” I tell her the truth. “Hmm, what? But she is definitely feverish and flushed!” Jimin looks at me with puzzled eyes, Minjeong never lies to her about serious things. “Yes she lied. We were actually fucking like rabbits whole day. I roughly deepthroated her, creampie bred her pussy and sodomized her ass bloody before you arrived. That's why she was so hot and flushed the whole day. It's just you ruined our plan of having sex for whole day.”
I nonchalantly declassify our taboo relationship to Jimin before taking a long sip. Jimin’s eyes blinking, confused and taking time to process the gravity of this info. After a few moments she gulps and says somehow, “N-Nice joke uncle… Your straight face almost made it sound real. Is this a new way of teasing?” She tries to be cool and smart, to her it's still an impossible idea. “Why? Do you think it's not real? Don't forget I am her step dad and she gave me full consent.” I have finished my glass of wine.
“No n-no, NO WAY!” Jimin’s eyes go wide, she covers her mouth in disbelief. I stand up and let her see the huge bulge in my pants pointing at her pretty face. I take a step at her. Jimin picks her phone up, trying to call for help. Her hands are shaking. I snatched the phone from her, “Be a good girl and don't tell anyone.” Jimin’s face is full of fear. “O-ok u-uncle. I-I won't.” She springs up, tries to go outside. I block her path, “It's already 8pm, stay the night with Minjeong. She will need care,” I order her. She quickly runs to Minjeong’s room and tries to wake her up.
“MINJEONGIE, WAKE UP, WAKE UP DAMN!” My daughter wakes up but before Jimin finishes her plea to Minjeong to save her, I butt in and say, “Minjeong your bestie Jimin will give me your share of pleasure that she spoiled.” Jimin turns her head with fearful eyes, almost tearing. “Besties share each other’s burden, so Jimin have no problem fucking me.” I decide it for her as it's the right thing to do. “And start calling me appa from now on Jimin.” I have come out of the shadow in the room and my naked erected penis is threatening Jimin’s safety.
“STAY AWAY! MINJEONGIE! Your appa trying to sexually violate me!” Jimin shakes Minjeong like a ragdoll, desperate to have her support. “Ok appa. Just don't break her into two pieces.” Minjeong, my new sex toy, gives me permission to use her bestie. “WHAT?” Jimin gets angry. “WHAT ARE YOU SAYING MINJEONG? YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME! THAT'S NOT EVEN YOUR BF, THAT'S YOUR APPA!” Her desperation is really amusing. “So you wouldn't mind fucking her boyfriend? Naughty girl, come to appa then!”
My hands reach for her, she hugs herself in a futile attempt to hide her ample boobs. Minjeong has sit up behind Jimin and before her friend can react she pulls Jimin’s hands over her head and pins her down on the bed. Jimin's boobs are bouncing around as she is struggling to break free, legs kicking to keep me away, trying to twist her body to break free. I carefully grab her ankles and get past them, her legs around my waist now. “P-PLSASE DON'T DO THIS TO ME MINJEONG!” She try to convince Minjeong for last time.
“I am appa’s woman now Jimin. If appa wants you, I’ll give him my bestie.” Minjeong says with passion. “I W-WON'T GIVE CONSENT, THIS IS RA…” Jimin tries to finish but my gal cuts her, “It's called enlightenment! My appa’s monstrous side has woken up the true me. His cock will wake you up too. Just endure it bestie!” “NO NOO NOOOO!” Jimin shakes her head and throws her hip in the air to break free. I tear both her crop top and bra in one go, her milky white big saggy udders bouncing and shaking side to side.
“DON'T YOU DARE YOU FUCKING MONSTER, YOU INHUMAN DERANGED BASTARD!” Jimin yells at me, her sexy bouncing boobs make those curses too appealing. I grab her legging and panties and tear both apart in one go. Her milky white crotch, nicely shaved cunt, perfect shaped brown labia and glistening pink pussy hole watering my mouth. I pull my boy out my short again, my fully erected thick and longer than average rod in front her eyes blow up any hope of rescue.
“PLEASE I BEG YOU, I won't tell anyone about your taboo. I won't stop being your friend either Minjeong. PLEASE, LET ME GO! You don't have to do this!” With tear streaming from her eyes Karina begs, poor girl. I start rubbing my cock on her pussy lips, sending shivers down her spine before setting my cock at her entrance. “It is not about you finding out about us Jimin. It's about me adopting a new sexual daughter. I WANT YOU GIRLS, BOTH OF YOU! You are too fuckable to give away!” I grin cheek to cheek, then shove my cock all the way in!
“ANGH NNGH AHHH AHH ARGH AHHN FUCK…” Jimin starts crying out loud from the sudden invasion in her pussy, my cock has reached all the way in hitting her uterus. I shove her panty, tops and bra in her mouth as a makeshift gag and start pounding from the get go. Her muffled scream is the melody in my ears. She is not bleeding, meaning unlike Minjeong was, she isn't a virgin. “Look at you hoe, already fucking around everywhere you go huh?” I slap her saggy bouncing udders with some tight sharp slaps, leaving my red handprints on her pristine skin. With every thrust, her lewd moaning sound and muffled scream echoing in the room.
I am kneading and playing with her big boobs and tight nipples with one hand while my other hand is busy fingering her erect clit. After 10 min of nonstop ball deep thrusting and molesting her sexual assets, I cum an average load into her pussy. Aha, my semen getting thinner as I am fucking whole day. But still enough to knock her up. I pull out, some cum starts leaking out her creampied pussy. Minjeong lets Jimin’s hand go and she lies on the bed with a hopeless, convulsing body and devastated expression. She cummed twice since I started to fuck her. Minjeong’s nonstop dirty talk made everything more arousing, for both of us.
Jimin tries to sit up after a while later but I flip her over on her tummy. “You had enough, p-please let me go!” Jimin begs me again. “Call him appa Jimin,” Minjeong hisses close to her ear, “Appa just started. Your ass and mouth coming next. The same way appa fucked all my holes. You are appa’s new woman, just like he made me his!” Jimin’s sweating weak body can't resist much as Minjeong pushes Jimin’s head on her pussy, grinding herself against her face. I align my cock on her asshole and start pushing as hard as I can.
With a little struggle my bulbous head eventually gets past her sphincter. “ARGGGH YOU ARE, YOU ARE BREAKING ME S-STOP!” She is still such a feisty one. “You will love it soon Jimin. Look at your bestie Minjeong, she was like you once. Now she is head over heels for my cock. Enjoy it, for your sake!” I start giving short thrusts, going a little inch inside her hole everytime. Jimin start shrieking in agonizing pain, but Minjeong presses her head on the mattress to muffle her.
It's a little over 9PM. I didn't get much sleep but I think I can still continue a little longer. Minjeong and Jimin have a long night and day ahead of them!
Epilogue:
I had a good night's sleep at last. Well it can't be helped when I literally passed out fucking two of my beautiful daughters, on top of my week long fatigue. Nothing better than sipping my homebrew coffee at the afternoon, after oversleeping and over fucking. Jimin passed out on the floor, I fucked her senseless after I woke up.
Vomit and piss making their way out of her mouthpussy, forced her to drink my morning golden smelly piss like I made Minjeong drink yesterday. I doubled down on her tiny hoe holes using my wife's favorite fat dildo along my cock. So she eventually broke down. My cum pooling under her pussy on the floor. Pee leaking her bladder, her pelvic muscles have given up. She has started to call me appa whenever I ramp up my thrusts, still need some works to make it permanent. Her resistance vanishing in the face of overwhelming pleasure.
And Minjeong? She is being appa’s good bitch and cock warming me after Jimin. Her light figure is bouncing on my cock, riding me like her life depends on it. I am just relaxing back leaning on my sofa, sipping my favorite coffee. Aha, now I have enough motivation to work even harder. I slap Minjeong's booty hard with a loud smack. “Arghh appa, harder harder punish your bad girl!” And so I start drumming her booty with the rhythm of her riding. We three definitely got a wet fucking future ahead.
The End up the birthday hoe's holes! 🖕

I Hate You, I Love You- part 3
Summary: you spend the early hours of Christmas Eve preparing dinner with your family and Melissa.
WC: ~2.8k
“Come in, come in!” your mother greets you. She pulls you in for a tight hug.
“You saw me at the beginning of this month, Mom,” you roll your eyes.
Then she moves onto Melissa, who has rolled both of your suitcases in. You see the redhead stiffen just slightly before relaxing and patting your mom’s back.
“You must be Melissa!”
Where you expect your tough coworker to reply with sass, she smiles warmly- that smile that she reserves for Barbara and, on the rare occasion, Janine. “It’s so great to finally meet you, Nora.” Then she turns to your aunt. “You must be Aunt Jo.”
Jo’s face brightens considerably, and you didn’t think that was possible. You can practically feel the excitement radiating off of her.
Then your father is standing from his chair and outstretching a hand. “Al,” is all he says, but the smile on his face tells you that he’s just as excited as the other two. He’s just better at concealing it.
“Melissa,” your ‘girlfriend’ shakes your father’s hand firmly. “It’s nice to finally meet you. I’ve heard so much about you.” At least that isn’t a lie- the two of you had gone over family history on the car ride over.
“Wish I could say the same about you,” your dad huffs as he looks to you. “Our girl didn’t even tell us you existed until a few weeks ago when she came over for dinner.”
“It just never came up!” you protest as you interlace your fingers with the redhead again. “Come on, we don’t have time to interrogate my girlfriend. We have to put our stuff away upstairs.”
The three adults relent, but your mother tells you, “Be quick! We have a lot of things to make!”
You go to grab your bag from next to Melissa, but her hand is on your suitcase handle before you can stop her. “I got it, hun.” She winks at you before gesturing for you to lead the way.
“Thanks, babe,” you reply, and you hope it sounds convincing. “Come on, my room is the attic, so…”
The redhead follows you up the steps, lugging your bags behind her. As soon as the door is closed behind the two of you, you scowl.
“Way to lay it on thick,” you hiss.
“I’m trying to be convincing! Do you want me to blow it for you before we even get through Christmas Eve?”
You huff. “No.”
“Then let me do my thing. You told me how you act in a relationship, and I took acting classes when I was younger. I can do this if you can.”
“Fine. I sleep on the left side of the bed.”
“Of course you do,” the redhead laughs. “I sleep on the right. It’s almost like we were made for this.”
“Shut up.”
“Just remember you love me,” Melissa teases you as she sets your things on your side of the room.
“I absolutely do not,” you roll your eyes. “C’mon. We have to go downstairs before my mom comes up here and yells at us for not coming to help her. And I need a glass of wine.”
“It’s eleven in the morning,” your colleague says, and there’s only a hint of judgement in her voice.
“And when you see the amount of work she’s going to give us, on top of having to pretend I love you, I’m going to need all the booze I can get.”
Melissa takes your hand gently in her own before leading you down the steps. You take a seat at the counter, and the redhead immediately makes her way over to the cabinets. She gives you a questioning look, and you point to the one that has the wine glasses in it. She grabs two before walking over to the refrigerator and pouring out a glass of your favorite wine and one for herself- one that your parents always keep for you when you’re here. She saunters over to you with a smile and offers the poured glass to you. You take it from her with a kiss to the cheek, and then she’s standing behind you with an arm draped around your shoulder.
“So, Y/N told me it’s always a cooking extravaganza, and I hate to brag, but I’m a great cook,” Melissa chuckles as she takes a small sip from her own glass.
Your mother immediately gives the two of you direction in terms of what you’re in charge of, and the redhead is all grins. “That sounds easy enough.”
“Mom, that’s way more than you usually give me.”
“Well, there’s two of you now,” your mother shrugs.
You roll your eyes. “This is a ridiculous amount of-”
“I can do it, babe,” Melissa cuts in. “You know how I usually cook anyway, and this ain’t nothin. Just sit there and look pretty for me, yeah?”
You look to her, and damn is she a good actress. For as rough and as tough as she is, she can really be warm- or at least fake warmth.
“I can help,” you sigh.
Making portions of the meal starts out incredibly stilted and awkward, but as time goes on and the alcohol is flowing through your blood, you actually find yourself enjoying being in Melissa’s presence. She’s a great cook. She’s a great teacher when there are a few things that you’re a little confused about in terms of preparing the food.
As you’re mashing the potatoes, her arms find their way around your waist, and her chin rests gently on your shoulder. She kisses your cheek softly, and you can’t help the blush that tints your cheeks. It’s all for appearances, at least in front of your parents and aunt- that’s what you tell yourself. You have no idea that this is how Melissa has wanted to be with you for a while now.
Unbeknownst to you, Aunt Jo takes your picture, the two of you looking incredibly in love despite the fact that you hate the redhead with you. It almost makes you hate her more now that you know she isn’t the hard ass she always plays- she can be incredibly soft and warm.
When you’ve finished mashing the potatoes, you excuse yourself to go to the restroom- you need a bit of space. Having the redhead pressed up against you and kissing your cheek and the nape of your neck has you more bothered than you had expecting. You splash a few droplets of water on your face.
Melissa moves onto begin making the last batch of cookies needed for tonight’s meal. But when she goes to reach for the nutmeg, she can’t find any. She grabs her purse and lets your father know she’s heading to the store, asking if they need anything else while she’s out. Your father shakes his head no.
“Hun?” your colleague calls up the steps. “I’m heading to the store for a few last minute items. Are you coming with me, or am I going by myself?”
You sigh. You like this warm side of Melissa, but you know as soon as the two of you are out of the house, it won’t be like that anymore. “I’ll stay here and help Mom.”
“Sounds good,” she yells back. “I’ll be back soon. I love you!”
You return the sentiment, but only because you know Aunt Jo had come upstairs to change from her sweatshirt to a tee. And then Melissa is off.
When you return back down the steps, Melissa has taken your car- you hope she doesn’t crash it just to spite you. Your father groans.
“What, Dad?”
“I’m an idiot. I told Melissa we didn’t need nothin’, but it turns out we need stuff to make the Christmas sangria.”
“I’ll text her.”
You do, and she just gives the message a thumbs up in return. You go back to your station in the kitchen and continue on preparing. Unfortunately for you, Melissa calls as you’re in the middle of glazing the ham, and you can’t answer.
“Would you mind getting that, Aunt Jo?”
Your aunt does, but her brows furrow as she looks at the contact name that pops up. It only reads ‘Schemmenti.
“It’s your girlfriend.” She answers the phone and places the cell between your cheek and shoulder. You’re able to hold it there. "Although I’m confused why you only have her in your phone with just her last name… no silly nickname, no heart? There isn’t even a picture of the two of you together?”
“Just haven’t had time,” you sigh. Damn. You should’ve thought about that. “I’m in her phone as Y/N, and that’s it.” You hope your fake girlfriend can hear the bite in your voice to tell her that you may have just been caught.
“Babe, you haven’t changed my name in your phone yet?” Melissa chuckles out. “I’m wounded.”
“You’re ridiculous,” you roll your eyes. “I’ll change it when we get off the phone. What’s up; what do you need?”
“There’s a shit ton of cranberries,” the redhead tells you. “Is there a particular brand you and your family prefer?”
You walk her through the preferred brands of everything on the list your dad gave you, and then she’s checking out.
She’s very aware that your entire family is still in the room with you, and if they can hear her, she wants to stay convincing. “Okay, thank you for your help hun. I’ll be back home in a few minutes.”
“Sounds good,” you mutter. “Don’t crash my car.”
“I wouldn’t,” the redhead chuckles, although she knows you’re being quite serious. “I’ll see you in a little bit.”
“Bye,” you sigh, and then you let your aunt take the phone back. She’s frowning at you though. “What?”
“No ‘I love you’?”
You look to your aunt, somewhat annoyed. “She’s literally five minutes away, and we said it when she left earlier.”
Jo just gives you a look before returning back to her own place in the kitchen.
Melissa enters about ten minutes later, and she comes in with a few bags in her hands. “Hey babe.”
“Thank you for going out,” you kiss her cheek. “You’re the best.”
Melissa just smirks. “I know.” She turns your head gently and plants a short, sweet kiss on your lips. “Make the cookies with me?”
You’re in a daze for a second. Your colleague is a… really good kisser.
“Honey?” she prompts.
Your cheeks tint red. “Uh, yeah. I’m gonna grab another glass of wine. You want one?”
“I would love that,” Melissa smiles.
You grab her empty glass of wine and fill it with a blush. When you make your way over, you have to resist the urge to kiss her again. “Here you go, Lis.”
Your ‘girlfriend’ lifts a brow at the spur of the moment nickname, but she smiles at you regardless. “Lis,” she mumbles as she pulls you in so close you can feel her breath on your neck.
You pick up your phone with a smile and pull up her contact. Her name in your phone goes from ‘Schemmenti’ to ‘Lis’, adorned with a red heart.
Her hand goes to her back pocket with a smile before pulling out her own phone and changing your contact name from just your last name, to a nickname for your first. You just give her a smile before turning your attention to the cookies that need baking.
Before you know it, your parents’ house smells delicious, and you’re just a little tipsy. Your cheeks have a glow that just won’t quit, and Melissa’s hands are all over you. She makes sure to throw in a few ‘I love you’s here and there, along with quite a few kisses dotted along your temple and hairline, cheek, lips, and she dares to press on to the nape of your neck as you roll out the dough for the sugar cookies. You can’t help the delightfully tipsy giggle that you let out.
The cookies end up in the oven, the two of you begin to toss in the ingredients for your family’s sangria, and then you’re asking Aunt Jo for a time check.
She taps your phone that’s sitting out on the counter, and she purses her lips.
“Is it getting too late?” you ask, a pout on your face.
She shakes her head. “It’s only about three, and you know the family doesn’t start trickling their way in until five, but where’s the cute picture of the two of you as your lock screen?”
Melissa just chuckles that easy laugh that you find yourself beginning to enjoy more and more. It’s the laugh that you only hear her elicit when she’s in the presence of Barbara Howard. “Because our coworkers don’t know,” she reminds Jo.
“Well, are you around them right now?” Aunt Jo challenges. Then her eyes light up. “I took an adorable photo of the two of you while you were making the potatoes. Give me a second.”
About a minute later, an image appears on your phone, and at one glance, you can see how anybody would genuinely think that the two of you are in love. It’s… it’s a really sweet picture. Melissa’s arms are around you, and while your hands are working on the food in front of you, the look in your eyes is one of pure happiness- at least that’s what it looks like. And the way that your coworker is looking at you? You haven’t seen that look from somebody in a long time.
With a roll of your eyes, you change your background to that picture, as does your grade partner.
“That’s better, huh?” Melissa pecks your lips again.
You give her a smirk. “Sure, hun. C’mon. We should go upstairs to start getting ready for dinner.”
“I’ll be up in a minute,” she promises. “You want another glass of wine?”
“Maybe some sangria,” you shrug as you . “Have to make sure it tastes good.”
She gives you a nod, and her eyes linger on your body as you head out of the kitchen and up the steps to your room.
Melissa enters a few minutes later as you’re in the midst of changing. She sets your drink on your nightstand before looking to you.
Immediately, you blush. You’re standing there without pants on. “Jesus, Melissa. Don’t you knock?”
She shrugs, and her eyes rake up and down your body.
“Oh, quit it,” you roll your eyes. “We aren’t in front of them anymore, so you don’t have to keep pretending you’re in love with me. I do have to say though, you’re quite the actress. You’re good at this.”
“Wait ’til you see what else I’m good at.” She winks at you before making her way over to her own suitcase.
“I still hate you.”
“I know,” is all the redhead sighs. She won’t say she hates you back, because she doesn’t. She never has.
“I can’t wait for this weekend to be over,” you tell her outwardly as you pull your slacks on.
Internally though, there’s something about this weekend that feels easy; it feels almost natural. Melissa has this warm, soft side to her that you don’t hate. You actually quite like it. You can almost see why Barbara has taken quite a shining to- no. Melissa Schemmenti is still the same stuck-up bitch you work with, and she’s doing this for the money.
You spend a bit of time on your makeup before turning to her. She’s sitting on the bed scrolling through her phone, glasses on the tip of her nose. When you clear your throat she looks up to you, and her jaw opens just slightly.
“What?”
She’s at a loss for words. It takes a few seconds for her mind to catch up to her body. “You look nice. Clean up well.”
“Save it for when we’re downstairs,” you sneer out. You gesture for her to go in front of you, and when she does, you can’t help but notice the way this sweater that she’s chosen hugs her in all the right places, and her pants only make her curves stand out more.
Before the two of you make your way down the steps fully, she laces your fingers together with ease. You can’t deny the way that her hand fits into your own almost perfectly. She smiles at you, one of those real, genuine smiles that almost has you melting.
“You ready?”
“Are you?”
“Of course I am,” Melissa smirks at you, and then she licks her lips subconsciously as she gets a good look at your face.
“Let’s get this over with.”

Can I have something angsty, sad, fluffy,(smutty if you want) ?
Reader is on the thicker/chubby side (a few tummy rolls and thick thighs) and she thinks Noah is only with her to say he's been with a fat chick or it's some fetish thing. Reader doesn't understand how he can be attracted to someone like her. Normal 9-5 job, not rich, shitty apartment, shitty car...just getting though life and they met by chance. Maybe he liked that she treated him like a regular person even though she knew who he was, like a "yeah, I know who you are...so what 🙄😐🤷🏼♀️" kinda thing.
Not gunna lie the "never been with a big girl" shit has happened way more than I'd like...and honestly, I've been really hating my body lately 😔
Thank you so much for this request! I know it took me a long time to get to it and I'm so sorry about that! I hope you still like it <3
Warnings: reader is a little hard on herself, Noah also feels insecure. Reader is fatphobic towards herself :( Besides that, this is fluff.
WC: 5.9k (this is long and I haven't proofread it yet!)
My requests are currently closed!
Noah was back home in Virginia for a couple of weeks. He really just went because his best friend, Nicholas, had begged him to. There was nothing left for him in this place anymore, and there hasn't been for years.
Even though he had a lot of bitter memories from his time here, he really tried to enjoy the moments he spent with his old friends, reconnecting and telling each other how their lives changed over the years.
Right now, he was at a bonfire, sipping on his beer, despite the chill weather that fall brought along. He looked around and saw many faces he didn't recognize from years ago. To his left, Nicholas was socializing, and he thought about how things haven't changed that much after all. His friend was always better at this than him.
His eyes were fixed on you, like they have been a couple of times during the night. You were hard to miss, with your orange knit sweater and beanie keeping your head warm. He didn't remember seeing you before, if he had, he would surely remember it.
You talked animately with your hands, sporting smile on your face that made your eyes crinkle. If he could describe your aura, it would be warm and inviting, and he felt a pull towards you, suddenly having the urge to come up to you and stike up a conversation.
He held himself back, though, because you seemed very engrossed in the conversation you were having with your friends, and he didn't want to intrude or bother you.
"You're still brooding in the corner?", he was so distracted by you, that he didn't even notice Nicholas approaching him.
"I'm technically not in a corner", Noah pointed to the wall he was leaning against. Nicholas fixed him with a look.
"You should try and talk to a few people, at least this one time", Nicholas sounded like a mom scolding a child and it mildly irritated Noah.
"I will, once I finish this beer", he settled on saying, but deep down, they both knew that Noah would stay in this exact same spot for the rest of the night.
"Whatever, man. I'll talk to Josh over there, he said something about Eric cheating on Alex with their babysitter, and I wanna know all about that. Do you remember Alex from high school?", Noah scrambled his brain, and he could vaguely remember an Alex from high school.
"Is she the one who fell down the bleachers once?", he asked, the memory slowly coming back to him. He should feel bad that this embarrassing moment is what he remembers her by.
"That's exactly the one", Nicholas exclaimed, his hand slapping against Noah's chest. "Apparently her luck didn't get any better. I'll get the scoop and then I'll tell you on the way home", Noah smiled at his friend's antics and watched him walk away.
Averting his gaze back to the gathering happening around him, he found himself watching you again. He really needed to break his habit, otherwise you would think of him as a total creep. His stance and unapproachableness already didn't help him at all. He decided to go look around for something to eat, sure that he saw some snacks around here somewhere.
"He's leaving", your friend said beside you. You had to keep yourself from looking at him. Your friends have been annoying you for the last 15 minutes about the hot guy who apparently couldn't stop looking at you.
"Good, would you stop bothering me now?", you said.
"Y/N, you need to talk to him. Have you seen this man? He is hot and he's totally into you", Charlie said, an exciting tone on her voice.
"And you gathered all that from the few minutes we've been standing here?", you looked at her with a disbelieving look on your face.
"We've been here for at least forty minutes and he hasn't stopped looking at you!", she exclaimed, as if she had it all figured out.
"He could've been looking in the general direction, not at me", you reasoned, trying to forget the way his gaze felt on you. He couldn't have been looking at you out of all people from your group of friends.
"Y/N", Charlie sighed, the excitement vanishing from her features. "You need to stop sabotaging yourself. Why is it so impossible for a man to be interested in you?"
"I don't know, Charlie. I'm gonna go grab another drink, ok?", you did what you always do when someone brought this up in conversation, you left and didn't look back.
Is not that you thought it was impossible for this man to be interested in you, you just thought it was unlikely. You spotted him right when he walked in, his height made him impossible to ignore. And even though he was wearing a hoodie, you saw the tattoos all over his neck and hands, the latter making you incredibly flustered. You never thought you could find someone's hands so attractive.
Meanwhile, you came to this gathering right from work. Your hair was a mess and you had no option but to slap a beanie over it. Your outfit was nothing interesting, just a sweater to keep you warm in the changing weather. Thinking about it now, the color was even a little silly. Who wore orange sweaters?
You arrived at the table where the drinks were set, eyes surveying for something interesting and non-alcoholic, since you drove here. You were so engrossed with whatever was in front of you, that you almost - almost - didn't notice a presence beside you. Like you said, he was hard to miss.
"You, hmm... you need help finding something?" You heard a voice and you knew exactly who was next to you. You looked at him and the first thought that came to your mind was how tall he was compared to you.
He had to look down to meet your eyes and you had to crane your head back to look back at him.
"Oh, I'm just looking for something that's non-alcoholic", you answered him, with a little laugh, knowing that those beverages were hard to find in these places.
"Yeah, it's going to be a little difficult", he said, scratching the back of his neck and looking at the table set in front of you.
"It's ok, I kind of expected it. I'll just go look for dome water", you shrugged your shoulders.
"Wait, I think I saw some stuff in the fridge earlier. Do you want me to get it for you?", he pointed at the house behind the both of you. His eyes were hopeful, like he wanted to do this for you. You thought it was adorable the way he actually wanted you to have something else other than water, and you didn't have the heart to teel him no. So you said yes and saw him walk into the house.
While you waited, Noah was crossing his fingers that his friends had something in the fridge other than booze and stale food. Yes, he lied to you about seeing something in the fridge earlier, but he couldn't let you drink water at a party. He also didn't know where the urge to please you came from, but the words came out of his mouth before he could stop them.
He made his way to the fridge and opened it, and he immediatly spotted a few cans of Red Bull. They were of different colors - probably some tropical flavor - and he hoped you liked energy drinks, otherwise, he would look like a fool in front of the girl he thought was extremely cute.
He grabbed one of them and made his way back to where you were waiting for him.
"Here, I hope you like energy drinks?", he couldn't help but let some nervousness seep into his voice.
"Thank you, and I do", you answered him, and you visibly saw some tension leave his shoulders. "This is actually perfect. I'm so tired because I came right from work. Maybe this will wake me up a little", you said as you cracked the can open.
When he heard you say that, he wanted to pat himself on the back, but settled on giving you a contained smile instead.
"So", he sensed the lull in the conversation, and since he wasn't ready to stop talking to you yet, he decided to change the topic. "Who are you here with?"
"I'm friends with Charlie, she's Josh's fiancee", you answered him. He knew that Josh had gotten engaged in the last few months. Him and Nicholas knew Joah and Charlie from high school, and both of them were surprised it took Josh this long to ask the girl to marry him. Maybe if he was better at keeping contact with his friend, he could've met you way earlier.
"I saw you talking to her earlier", he pointed out and you cursed yourself, because your friends were right. He was watching you. "How did you two meet each other?", he asked and leaned against the table. He refrained from asking you to go inside and sit on the couch.
"We went to college together a few years ago. We were roomates and clicked instantly", you told him and he did the math in his head. You were friends with Charlie for what? Nine or ten years now? Shit, he really could've me you earlier. "What about you? Haven't seen you around before", you threw the question back at him, taking a sip from the drink in your hand. He had to avert his gaze from the way your lips wrapped around the rim, which was very distracting.
"Oh, I've known Josh for years. Us and a couple of other people here went to high school together", he saw your eyes light up with this information, visibly impressed.
"Oh my God. How come have I not seen you before?", you were shocked that you never noticed this man at any of the parties Josh and Charlie usually threw.
"I moved out of here really young. I live in LA now, so it's difficult to visit", he kept the information that he was in a band to himself. He liked the way you seem to not know who he is at all.
"I think he's mentioned having friends in LA before", you mused, but didn't dwell much on the information. "I don't blame you, LA seems to be much more interesting than here"
"Yeah, a little crazy out there. Not a dull moment, that's for sure", you agreed, and he wanted to know more about you, but refrained from asking what you did for a living, afraid that you would ask him back, and he sure didn't wanna lie to you.
"I never left here, I just assume from the stories I hear", he was surprised to hear this, not for the fact that you never visited other places, but because he couldn't imagine someone spending their whole lives in this place.
"You never felt the urge to go somewhere else?", he couldn't help but ask you. You thought for a second before answering him.
"I mean, I would obviously love to travel to other places, but I don't know if I would actually move somewhere else", he hummed, and you continued. "My whole life is here, my parents are here, and I know this city like the back of my hand. I guess I like the familiarity of the place"
He could understand that. Not everyone had a traumatizing childhood and teenage years like him. He guesses he could like the place if it wasn't tied to such bad memories.
He was about to ask you something else when Charlie approached the two of you, and he noticed the knowing look on her face the second he saw it.
"Hey, you two", she said as she rested one hand on your shoulder. "We're playing a board game in the living room, and Josh wanted me to ask if any of you would like to participate"
Noah waited for you to answer first, half hoping you would say no, just so he could talk to you for a little but longer. However, what you said instead crashed his hopes of talking to you for the rest of the party.
"I would love to, but I should be heading out. I'm dead tired and really need some sleep", you had an apologetic look on your face, and when he really took the time to look at you, he did notice your slightly droopy eyes.
"Thank you for coming, I know work has been chewing your ass lately", Charlie told you, but you dismissed her with a wave of your hand.
"You know I love hanging out with you guys, so it's worth the effort", you said with sincerity in your voice and you and Charlie exchanged a hug and goodbyes.
Turning back to face him, you noticed that you didn't really want to leave, but needed to before you got even more tired. Suddenly, you realized you never got his name.
"Well, we've been talking all this time and I never asked your name", you chuckled at the absurdity of it.
"My name is Noah", he extended his hand for you to shake. "What's yours?"
You took his hand in yours, noticing the way it entirely encompassed yours. You observed the details on the tattoos he had on his knuckles and hands, and you wondered once again if they continued up his arms and shoulders. "I'm Y/N"
"Well, Y/N, it's been a pleasure talking to you", he gave you soft smile and you wanted to get lost in his eyes and the way he was looking at you right now. As if you were the greatest thing that's happened to him the entire week. Little did you know.
"The feeling is mutual" you smiled back at him, having to let go of his hand, as to not turn this into those too long handshakes. "I should get going", you said and started to turn around before he stopped you.
"Actually", he started, prompting you to look back at him. "I was wondering if I could get your number", he had the same hopeful look on his face as earlier, when he asked you if he could grab you a drink. You looked at him for a few seconds before answering.
"Yeah, of course. Here it is", you handed him your phone and he put his contact in, giving it back to you.
"I'll text you so you can add mine", you tapped your screen a few times and after a couple of seconds, his phone vibrated on his back pocket. "There, now we have each other's numbers", you pocketed your phone.
"Text me when you get home?", he asked and you were caught a little off-guard, but couldn't deny you loved the way he genuinely seemed to care about you.
"Of course. I'll let you know", you smiled and contemplated giving him a hug, just to feel the way his arms would wrap around your body, but thought it would be too much for a first encounter. You settled in a little awkward wave as you turned around to make your way out of the backyard and in the direction of your car.
Noah, on the other hand, was frozen in place. When he spotted you, he was sure he was doomed to watch you from afar the whole night. But when he saw you by the table full of drinks, looking a little lost, he decided to take Nicholas' advice and mingle a little.
For someone who hated this city so much, he was actually feeling a little disappointed in having to leave in a few days. He always felt like there was nothing else worth sticking around for here, but as he replayed your smile in his head, and how your skin felt in his in those couple of seconds he shook your hand, he couldn't help but think he could stay here, if it meant he got to experince moments like this with you again.
He decided to make his way back inside, the party now with only a few people left. He sat on the couch as he watched Nicholas and his friends play a game of Monoply on the dinner table.
A few minutes went by when he felt his phone vibrate in back pocket. Fishing it out, he saw it was a text from you.
You: Hi! Just letting you know I got home safely :)
He felt a smile take over his face as he replied to you.
Noah: Hey! Glad everything went alright. Have a good night and sleep well x
You: Thank you :) Enjoy the rest of the party!
Noah: I'm about to leave soon actually. Talk to you tomorrow?
You: Sure! Drive home safe and let ME know when you get home? ;)
Noah: I will, but something tells me you'll be asleep by then
At home, you were leaning against the bathroom counter, your toothbrush hanging from your mouth, stupidly grinning at your phone.
You: I'll wait up :)
The next day was chores day for you. Clean the house, get the laundry done, change the sheets and whatever else you needed to do around the house.
Even with the music blaring through the speakers to keep you entertained while you loaded the dishes in the dishwasher, you couldn't help but let your mind run wild with thoughts of Noah.
You couldn't let go of the fact that he was so nice to you, despite never having seen you before. It's not that guys were never nice to you, it's just that the niceness came with the intentions fo something else, and you didn't want to think of Noah as one of those people.
Closing the dishwasher and starting the cycle, you made your way to the bedroom to collect all the clothes that needed washing.
As soon as you got in the room, you stopped in your tracks, your image on the mirror on the opposite wall from you catching your attention.
This was obviously a lazy day, and there was no use in dressing up to clean the house, but still, you could see the wisps of hair and the frizz sticking out from your bun, that sat atop of your head.
You wore a baggy t-shirt and some gym shorts, turning a bit to the side, you observed the fat of your thighs basically swallowing the tight fabric.
Nowadays, you weren't so worried with the way you look as you were as a teenager. A lot of therapy over the years helped you accept yourself. But you can't say it didn't leave any traumas behind.
Before you could even realize what was happening, the voices in your head were already sabotaging you.
"See? You were right. Noah is probably not attracted to you at all"
"He probably made a bet with someone about how he could charm the fat girl no one wants"
"He's tall, tattooed and handsome. You're just you"
It didn't matter anyway, he's doesn't even live here. His life in LA is probably more interesting than anything this city could offer him. He'll leave soon and your life would be back to normal. He'll probably not even text you, your phone number lost in all the other numbers he probably has in his phone.
Huffing with annoyance at how the day took a turn, you hurried to gather the clothes and make your way out of the room.
At the Ruffilo's house, Noah was laying on the couch, with his phone in his hand, open on your text thread with you from last night.
To be honest, he wanted to text you right when he woke up, but didn't want to come off to strong or bother you on your day off. Now, as it was nearing 3:00 pm, he was tired of holding himself back.
He's been contemplating on how he could ask you out for the entire day, and decided he should keep it simple. Maybe ask you out to eat some dinner. Nothing too fancy, just some burgers, fries and a milkshake at the place he loved to go with his friends as a teenager.
He even though about taking you to the lookout he always went to, to clear his head when the noises in his head got too loud. He hasn't been there in years, and now was a good time to try and resignify what the place meant to him.
So, he started typing.
Noah: Hey! Remember me?
He sent the text and stared at the screen, biting the nail on his thumb. He waited a couple of minutes for an answer, but the bubbles showing that you were typing a reply didn't appear on his screen.
You could be busy. Or you could already be out with someone else. It's the weekend after all, why would you spend it rotting away on the couch like him?
He knew if he stayed here, he would drive himself mad. So he decided to make his way uptairs to take a shower, and hopefully take his mind off of you for a few minutes.
Meanwhile, you were debating with yourself. After your dilemma earlier in the day, you weren't expecting to get a text from Noah. Actually, you were kind of hoping he wouldn't contact you, because you weren't ready to unpack what you were feeling for this guy you just met yesterday.
But here you are, mind running in circles thinking about what to say to him. Should you even reply? No, that's out of the question. You always thought it was rude to leave somone on read, especially on purpose.
You couldn't deny that you were curious to find out what he wanted. So, without dwelling much more on it, you started typing.
You: Hey there! Of course I do. Yesterday wasn't that long ago.
You wanted to lock your screen and chuck your phone across the room. But you weren't fifteen anymore, so you resorted to scrolling through social media as you waited for his responde. Eyes wandering to the notification bar every few seconds.
If this was just a booty call, you were going to be extremely upset. Would it be so bad though to have a one night stand with the hot guy?
Your phone vibrated in your hand, a text coming through.
Noah: Just wanted to make sure
What's up? You having a good weekend?
You: If good means cleaning the house the entire day, then I'm having a great weekend. What about you?
Noah: Well, now you're just making me feel bad, 'cause I didn't do anything the entire day
You: That sounds perfect, actually
Noah: Since your weekend has been so strenuous, what do you think about having some dinner?
Did he just ask you out? Were your eyes deceiving you? You didn't know what to tell him.
You obviously wanted to spend more time with him, enjoying the time you spent with him yesterday. But your mind took you back to earlier in the day. You hated yourself for always assuming the worst in a situation.
Maybe he didn't even mean anything by asking you to have dinner with him. Maybe he was just being polite. But why would he be polite to someone he just met?
Ultimately, you decided that this didn't have to mean anything more than just two people eating together. Besides, you were curious to find out what his intentions were. If he even had any.
You: Sounds good. What are you thinking?
Noah: Do you like burgers?
You: Oh, I love burgers!
Noah: It's set then! I know just the place
I'll pick you up at 7?
You: I'll be ready :)
Noah was sat on his bed, towel still wrapped around his hips, looking stupidly at his phone, a grin on his lips. He pondered a lot during his shower, and decided that he was done waiting. He didn't have much more time in his hometown, so he wanted to make the most of the time he still had with you.
He knew it was still too early to call this a first date, but he was nervous as if it was. He really hopes you like what he has planned for the two of you. It's nothing too fancy or too special, a simple dinner overlooking the city at night, but it held a lot of meaning for him.
Getting dressed and going downstairs to get some water, he knew he'd be stressing until it was time to leave to pick you up, so he decided to play some games on his computer to try and distract himself a little.
You looked at yourself in the mirror, and overanalyzed your outfit like you've been doing for probably the past 10 minutes. You wore a dress that went down to about your knees, it was a deep wine color, and threw on a leather jacket on top, just in case it got windy outside.
You opted to go for comfort instead of anything fancy, so deciding that this outfit was enough, you went to your closet and grabbed your pair of Vans and slipped them on your feet.
Noah should be here in about 15 minutes, and you wanted to be ready. He texted you a little earlier asking for your address, you gave it to him and just told him to text you when he got here. Since you lived in an apartment, it would be easir for you to come down and meet him at the entrance.
You didn't have to wait long until you phone chimed in your hands, a text popping up on the screen.
Noah: I'm here :)
You: I'll be down in a second!
Locking the door behind you, you waited for the elevator. Your legs couldn't seem to keep still, and you realized you were nervous for whatever was about to happen when you met him outside.
Do you hug him? Do you shake his hand? No, that's too formal of a greeting. But would he want to hug you this soon? He seemed to be a reserved person.
You didn't have much more time to overthink on this situation, because soon you were stepping inside the elevator. You cursed yourself for living only on the third floor, because before you could freak out a bit more, the doors dinged and you stepped out.
When you laid eyes on him, he was standing outside his car, back leaning against the passenger side door, long legs crossed and hands tucked into his pants' pockets.
You almost stopped yourself in your tracks. He was wearing a short sleeved shirt, and you could see the tattoos decorating both of his arms. You almost wanted to just stand there and admire the way looked waiting for you.
But you couldn't allow yourself to look like a fool on the first time you were going out with him. So you put on a smile and walked over to him. You didn't have to overthink anything at all, because as soon as you got close to him, you heard him say a "hello" and stretch out his arms for you to give him a hug.
He felt warm and sturdy against you, and you noticed the way his arms circled your shoulders and around your neck. You could feel his muscles through the fabric of your dress, and it made you a little dizzy.
When you both parted from the hug, you said "hi" back him.
"C'mon in", he gestured to the car and opened the door for you. You situated yourself on the passenger seat and he shut the door behind you, making his to the other side.
"So, what's the plan for tonight?", you asked, as you buckled you seatbelt and watched him do the same.
"I know this place that sells some really good burgers. My friends and I used to go there all the time. I hope it's still good", he answered and started driving.
"Burgers are always nice", you pointed out.
"Not always", he quickly looked at you with his eyebrows raised.
"Are you particular about your burgers?"
"It's not that I'm pinky or anything. It's just that I knwo when a burger is bad", he explained himself while taking a right turn and entering another neighbourhood.
"And what is a bad burger in your opinion?", you turned yourself slightly on your seat, so you could look at him better.
"Well, first, the bun has to be sealed, so it isn't soggy from the sauce", you nodded along to his explanation. "Then, the burger has to be thick enough to be juicy, and it can't be cooked for too long because then it becomes dry", he makes a face as if dry burgers are a personal attack to him.
"I guess you're right about all of that. Maybe spending four years in college kind of messed up my idea of good food"
"You ate a lot of weird stuff?", he asked you.
"It's incredible the stuff you can come up with on a budget", you shrugged and he seemed to be satisfied with your answer.
Not too long after, Noah's pulling to a vintage looking diner, but you notice him going to the drive thru instead of parking.
"We're not eating here?", you found yourself asking before you could stop.
"Shit, I didn't ask you", he stopped the car in the line and looked at you. "I was thinking about eating at this place I know, I think you're gonna like it", you could tell his confidence wavered a little bit, but you gave him a smile anyways.
"It's ok, I don't mind eating somewhere else"
The line progressed quickly and in about fifteen minutes, you were grabbing your order and Noah was driving again.
You noticed he was driving to a less populated area, and more trees came into view, the headlights of the car illuminated the path ahead.
"I clearly didn't think this through because this totally looks like I'm kidnapping you or something", he chuckled a little, but you could tell he was nervous.
"I didn't think about that", you told him. Maybe you thought this place was a little weird, but you weren't going to comment on that.
"We're almost there, ok", you nodded and true to his words, a few turns later, the car arrived at a clearence. Noah drove a little bit more and parked the car.
Looking through the windshield, you could see the light from the city below you and the stars shining bright above you.
"You were right. I really do like this place", you stated, still a little bit in awe. How did you not know about this place?
"I'm really glad you like it", he said, watching you observe the place around you. "Well, let's eat before the food gets cold"
You ate and talked, now feeling more comfortable with each other's presence. Noah told you he used to come here as a teenager all the time, though he didn't tell you the reason.
He didn't feel the same emotions now as he did before when coming to this place. It felt like a new life now for him, e new beginning, and he was to have someone like you here with him.
You did tell him though, that this was one of the best burgers you've ever eating in your life, and that you would totally eat there more. He couldn't hide the smile on his face.
After you were done, he gathered all the wrappers and cups and got out of the car to put it in the trash can that was not too far away from the car.
You sat there, observing him and wondering if you were the only one feeling like this was more than just two people who just met each other going out to dinner.
He got back and sat down on the driver's seat. Looking out into the city, he said "I kind of don't wanna go yet"
"I don't either", you agreed. You felt a weird sense of calm on this place, with him. "I can tell that being here means a lot to you. And you don't have to tell me anything, but I'm glad you brought me here"
He didn't say anything for a while, and you both just sat there in comfortable silence.
"I never liked coming back here, to my hometown", he started, you just looked at him, not saying anything, not wanting to rush him. "I have really bad memories from this place. But don't know, being here this time, meeting you, made me feel like this city still has some good in it"
"Noah, I'm hardly anyone important", you reasoned.
"It's not that. I just feel like you're here because you wanna be, and not because you want to get something from me", he looked down at his lap.
"Why would I wanna get something from you?", you were feeling a little confused now.
"it's just always the way it works. Charlie never told you whar I do on LA?", he questioned you, looking at you from the corner of his eyes.
"She told me you're in a band. Which I googled and you guys look pretty good at what you do", you noticed his eyes widening when you said this.
"So you know?", his voice was a little smaller right now, aprehensive.
"Of course. Josh would never shut up about his friends who went to LA and got famous", you laughed quietly at this. "I'm sorry that people made you feel worthy only if you have something to give them"
He looked down again, but you continued. "But I was serious when I told you that I'm not anyone important. I'm glad to be here right now, and I really enjoy your company, but you're going back to LA soon and then this is the last thing you'll think about"
"I don't think that's true", he was quick to disagree with you. "Before arriving here, I felt dread coming back to this place. Now I feel like I don't wanna leave. You're the reason for that, and I'll never forget the way you've made me feel this past two days. Because I haven't felt his normal in years", you didn't know what to say to that, so you just looked at him.
He straighted his back, and leaned his elbows on the center console, his face now closer to yours.
"Will you give me the pleasure of tasting your lips before I go absolutely insane?", he was looking right at your eyes, voice low as if there weren't the two of you here.
"We can't have you going insane, can we?", you said and leaned closer, brushing your lips on his.
You felt his hand going up your neck and gripping your jaw. He licked his lips and you closed your eyes, and soon you felt the plush of his lips on yours, slow at first, but then he got a little more urgent, picking up his pace.
His tongue teased your lips and you granted him entrance, you whimpered at the feeling of his mouth on yours, and he held your face tighter.
After parting, you were both panting, you with a smile in your face at the feeling of his thumb carresing your cheek.
"How am I supposed to ever leave this place now?", he wondered out loud and connected his lips yours again.

A Little Space
Yang:*walks into dorm* Who’s ready for scary movie night and-
Ruby:*sitting on the floor* Yo!
Yang:Yooo! Where’s Moody #1 and Mood #2 at? Popcorn run?
Ruby:I had them step out really quick. I wanted to take a moment tell you something important. Something that might make you Moody #3
Yang:What did you break?
Ruby:Nothing! Why’s that the first thing you- sit please!
Yang walks over and sits crisscross in front of her sister like they used to do all the time when they were younger.
Yang:What’s up little sis? Did you bomb a test and dad knows? Oz planning some type of leader extrovert training?
Ruby:Ugh, he better not. I’d die on the spot.
Yang:Haha, then what’s up? You have me a little worried if you’re asking for a private-
Ruby:I’m seeing someone!
Yang:…Huh?
Ruby:*red* Jaune. I’m…I’m seeing Jaune, romantically.
Yang:Ah…okay then. Umm for how long exactly?
Ruby:A few months now.
Yang:Months?
Ruby:Time flew by! I really didn’t mean to not tell you for so long. We were sorta just figuring things out a bit.
Yang:I see, a few months huh? That’s… that’s a a fair amount of time. So are you telling me now cause you found the nerve, or has something changed? *squints*
Ruby:…..
Yang:….Ruby, be honest with me. Just how much has your relationship progressed?
Ruby:More than you would approve, but less than what you fear.
Yang:*nods* Is that so? Hmm, excuse me.
Ruby:Yang no! Wait!
Thank goodness for speed semblances. Ruby managed to get herself in front of the door before Yang, grabbing both of her hands to hold. Yang could’ve easily pulled the girl out of the way but suddenly tensed as she felt Ruby’s hand tremble violently. That alongside the pleading look in her eyes was more than enough to cool Yang’s head off.
Ruby:Please, don’t confront him over this.
Yang:Ruby, you can’t ask me not to look after you. Look, Jaune is a nice guy but I have to say something. You’ve been together for months in secret! What would day think in this situation?
Ruby:He…knows.
Yang:Wh- You told dad before me!?
Ruby:Dad actually listens to me all the way through! He’s always also way more levelheaded.
Yang:That’s- I mean… so everyone know!?
Ruby:No, but I’m sure Blake and Weiss have their own suspicions. They just have no reason to press me about it like you would.
Yang:….Is that why your hands are trembling? You were afraid to tell me?
Ruby:I wasn’t afraid. I…I know how you are when it comes to protecting me. I love it; I really do. This time is different though. *inhales* Yang, I am asking you to please give me some space with this. I don’t want to go behind your back but I don’t want you to ruin this.
Yang:Ruin? When have I ever-
Ruby:I’m excited, okay!? *blushing*
Yang:….What?
Ruby:It…It feels so weird and like a rush being around him. I’ve never cared much specifically about romance in my life and this feels crazy for me. I’m not nervous to talk about all of my thoughts. I stumble around him and laugh about it. Little things feel like a rush of adrenaline! Yeah I’m nervous but…I’m not afraid in the slightest. I’ve never this safe, this…secure around someone quite like this. Have you ever felt this way!? It’s almost like-
Yang:The sun is actually shining.
Ruby:Yeah, yeah that’s exactly what it’s like. *smiling* I can’t help but wonder if this is what mom felt for dad. Maybe I’m wrong, and I know relationships aren’t like love stories but this space have I him right now, I want to keep exploring it. I want to feel these feelings.
Yang:And you think he might change if I give him the riot act. *sighs* I… can see how that would “ruin” things.
Ruby:I really am sorry I didn’t tell you this sooner. *tears up* All of this has been so confusing and new. Also maybe…maybe I was a little scared letting you know. I just…I really do like him, Yang.
Since when did being a big sister get this difficult. Yang still can’t believe their father chose the path of peace! Definitely a youngest daughter privilege. Then again, if Ruby has told him even half of this speech, Yang could see how he gave his grace. She looked towards the ceiling away from the misty doe eyes and channeled the strength to ask a few questions.
Yang:Are you both being safe about?
Ruby:!? Of course! We’re not dumb and like I said, we haven’t…ya know? *red* We really are taking our time with things. He’s figuring this all out too! Cut Jaune a little slack.
Yang:(Okay, maybe I didn’t take that into account. Of course this is uncharted territory for him too.) Fiiiiiiiiine! Fine! I won’t talk to him about it, for now!
Ruby:Really!?
Yang:But you still have to tell him I know!
Ruby:That’s fine. He knows dad knows. I also talked to him about telling you. Jaune actually encouraged me for this.
Yang:That’s a bold tactic.
Ruby:He has seven sisters. I’m positive on some level he gets where you’re coming from.
Yang:Seven!? Actually…yeah, yeah that makes sense.
Ruby:Are you still mad at me?
Yang:I was never mad, ya little-
She pulls Ruby into a big, warm hug. It kinda hurt to think about how big her sister was getting. Then again, maybe this is how dad felt whenever she confronted him about needing some more space? The more she thought about it, it made sense why he was relaxed with Ruby. It would be cruel if both of them gave such a strong response to her feelings.
Yang:I love you so much. Remember, you can tell me anything.
Ruby:I know, and I love you too.
xxxxx
As always, scary movie night happened; although Yang couldn’t really say she was watching the film. As her teammates and friends from JNPR watched the film, her gaze occasionally shifted downward towards the floor at Jaune and Ruby, who shared a popcorn bowl. Funny, have they been sitting that close to one another all this time?
Yang watched the blonde jolt as another jumpscare caught him off guard, earning a stifled giggle out of Ruby while he smiled sheepishly. Lightly, Ruby leaned against him and continued watching the film with a grin that warmed Yang’s heart.
Yang: (Perhaps some space isn’t so bad? The view from here is pretty cool.)

masterlist
the room was a blur of activity, voices overlapping as the medical team worked efficiently around jude. he sat there, trying to focus on the steady stream of questions and instructions being thrown his way, but his mind kept drifting back to the moment it all went wrong.
the match had been intense, emotions running high, and jude had let his temper get the best of him. he remembered the argument with the opposing player, the heated words exchanged, the rush of adrenaline that followed. it was all so vivid in his mind—how he’d felt the anger simmering beneath his skin, how he’d wanted to prove himself in that split second, to win the ball, to show he wasn’t one to back down.
but then it happened. they both went up for the header, and time seemed to stretch out in front of him. the roar of the crowd faded into the background as he focused on the ball, his body moving instinctively. he remembered the sensation of losing his balance, the way the ground seemed to rise up to meet him, the sickening thud as his head hit the turf. the world tilted, the lights above blurring into a dizzying swirl, and for a moment, everything went black.
now, back in the medical room, jude felt the residual throbbing in his head, a dull ache that pulsed with every beat of his heart. his family was there—his mom, denise, hovering close by with worry etched into her features; his dad, mark, standing stoically but with an unmistakable tension in his posture; and his younger brother, jobe, sitting quietly in the corner, his wide eyes filled with concern.
y/n was there too, but she kept her distance, her eyes avoiding his. jude could tell she was upset—really upset—by the way she kept herself apart from the others, by the tightness in her expression that she couldn’t quite hide. she only stepped forward when one of the other medics called for her, her movements precise and professional, but there was an underlying tension in everything she did.
jude couldn’t shake the feeling that she was mad at him, though he wasn’t entirely sure why. maybe it was because he’d been reckless, because he’d let his emotions get the better of him on the pitch. maybe it was because she’d seen the whole thing happen, the way he went down, the way he didn’t get back up right away. the thought of her worrying, of her being scared for him, gnawed at him.
they ran through the tests—checking his reflexes, his coordination, asking him questions to assess his memory and cognition. jude answered as best he could, but his focus kept drifting back to y/n. he hated that she was so distant, that she wouldn’t even look at him. it hurt more than the injury itself.
“he’s going to be okay, right?” denise asked one of the medics, her voice trembling slightly.
“we’re running all the necessary tests, mrs. bellingham,” the medic replied calmly, “but so far, everything looks stable. we’ll have a better idea once we review the scans.”
jude’s parents exchanged a worried glance, but denise nodded, trying to stay strong. jobe looked over at jude, his young face pale with concern.
“you’ll be fine, jude,” jobe said softly, trying to sound confident, though his voice wavered just a bit.
jude managed a small smile, wanting to reassure his brother, but the heaviness in his chest remained. when the tests were finally over, his mom asked if he needed help getting home, and mark added, “we can get you settled in, jude. don’t worry about anything.”
“actually,” denise said, glancing over at y/n, “maybe y/n could take you home? you two spend a lot of time together, and she knows how to take care of you.”
the room seemed to freeze at that suggestion, the tension thickening. jude saw the way y/n stiffened at his mom’s words, how she hesitated before nodding, still refusing to meet his eyes.
“yeah… sure. i’ll take him home,” y/n said quietly, her voice tinged with something jude couldn’t quite place.
jude watched as y/n carefully checked his vitals, her fingers deftly adjusting the blood pressure cuff around his arm. even in her quiet, focused state, she was breathtaking. he couldn’t help but study her—how the light caught in her braids, the way her brows furrowed in concentration, and how every now and then, her lips would press into a thin line, as if she was holding something back. he knew she was upset with him, and it pained him more than the throbbing in his head.
he thought back to earlier, to how her distance had been like a wall between them, and how badly he wanted to break through it. it wasn’t just that she was pulling back; it was the way she did it, so carefully and deliberately, as if she was trying to protect herself from him. it killed him to think that his actions had made her feel this way, that he’d been the cause of her worry, of her pain. he’d been reckless, and now she was paying the price for it.
“baby,” he whispered, the word slipping out before he could stop it.
y/n froze at the sound of his voice, her hand stilling on his arm. for a moment, she didn’t move, and jude’s heart sank, fearing that he’d overstepped, that he’d made things worse. but then she looked up at him, her eyes filled with unshed tears, and jude felt his heart crack open.
“why are you crying?” he asked gently, reaching out to cup her cheek, his thumb brushing away a tear that had escaped.
y/n shook her head, her breath hitching as she tried to find the right words. “i’m sorry,” she whispered, her voice trembling. “i’m sorry for being so distant… it’s just—” she paused, taking a shaky breath, her eyes glistening as she continued, “the replay looked so bad, jude. i thought you had a brain injury, or worse… and i couldn’t stop thinking about what could’ve happened to you.”
jude’s heart ached at her words, at the raw emotion in her voice. he could see how much she was struggling, how much this had affected her, and it made him feel even worse for having been the cause of it. he shushed her gently, his hand moving to cradle her face, trying to offer her some comfort.
“hey, i’m okay,” he murmured, guiding her hand to his cheek so she could feel the warmth of him, the steady beat of his pulse beneath her fingers. “i’m right here, love. i’m okay.”
y/n let out a shaky breath, leaning into his touch as she continued, her voice barely above a whisper. “it’s just… i feel it every time you go out there, every time you risk your body like that. and today, seeing you go down like that… it scared me so much. i couldn’t bear the thought of losing you.”
her voice cracked, and jude could see how much she was holding back, how hard she was trying to keep it together. he wanted to pull her into his arms, to tell her everything was going to be okay, but he knew she needed to get this out, to say what was on her heart.
“it’s not just today, jude,” she went on, her voice trembling with emotion. “i think… i think i’ve always felt this way, even before i realized it. it’s like, every time i see you, my heart just… it does this thing where it skips a beat, and i can hardly breath. i try to ignore it, but i can’t.”
she paused, her breath hitching as she tried to gather her courage. jude held his breath, sensing that she was about to say something that would change everything between them.
“i love you,” she finally confessed, the words spilling out in a rush of emotion. “i’m in love with you, jude. i’ve probably always loved you… from the moment i laid eyes on you, you just… you never left me alone. no matter how much i tried to keep things professional, to keep my distance, you kept finding ways to break through. and i’m scared, jude. i’m so scared of what this means, of what could happen… but i can’t ignore it anymore. i love you, jude.”
the weight of her words hung in the air between them, heavy and full of meaning. jude felt his heart swell with emotion, a rush of warmth flooding through him at her confession. she loved him. she loved him. it was everything he’d ever wanted to hear, everything he’d been hoping for since the moment he first saw her.
he pulled her closer, wrapping his arms around her and holding her tight, as if he could protect her from all the fears and uncertainties that were swirling around them. “i love you too,” he whispered into her hair, his voice thick with emotion. “i’ve loved you since that day you took care of me when i was sick… maybe even before that. you’re everything to me, y/n. everything.”
she clung to him, her breath hitching as she tried to process the magnitude of what they’d just shared. jude pressed his forehead to hers, his eyes closing as he breathed her in, the scent of her hair, the warmth of her skin. he’d been so scared of losing her, so afraid that he’d pushed her too far, but now… now everything felt right.
“i’m sorry i scared you,” he murmured, his voice low and sincere. “i never want to make you worry like that again. but i promise you, y/n, i’ll always do my best to come back to you. always.”
y/n nodded, her tears slipping down her cheeks as she held onto him, her heart finally at peace. “i know,” she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. “i know, jude. and i’ll always be here for you. no matter what.”
they stayed like that for a long moment, wrapped up in each other, the world outside fading away until it was just the two of them in that room, together. for the first time in what felt like forever, everything was exactly as it should be. they had each other, and that was all that mattered.
the morning light streamed through the curtains of y/n’s bedroom, casting a warm glow on the space as jude slowly blinked awake. the memories of last night still lingered in the air between them—soft confessions of love that had left them both feeling light and warm, a tenderness that neither of them could shake off.
jude turned his head, eyes landing on y/n, who was already up and dressed, fussing with something at her bedside table. he couldn’t help but smile as he watched her, still wrapped up in her oversized t-shirt that he had insisted she wear—one of his favorites that practically swallowed her whole, the hem brushing the tops of her thighs. she was gorgeous, and he felt a twinge of guilt for making her worry so much yesterday, the fear in her eyes when he’d gotten hurt replaying in his mind.
“good morning, mi amor,” she said softly, noticing he was awake. the endearment slipped easily from her lips, a habit she hadn’t quite realized she’d picked up. she leaned over, pressing a gentle kiss to his forehead, mindful of his injury. “how are you feeling?”
“better,” jude replied, his voice still thick with sleep. “could get used to waking up like this.”
y/n smiled, brushing a hand through his curls, and for a moment, they both just enjoyed the quiet intimacy of the morning.
but jude, ever the tease, wasn’t content with just that. he slid his hand to the back of her knee, tugging her gently closer. “you know, you could make me feel even better if you come back to bed…”
she rolled her eyes playfully, swatting his hand away. “nice try, bellingham. doctor’s orders—no physical activity that could aggravate your head, and that includes whatever you’re trying to start.”
jude groaned dramatically, flopping back against the pillows. “stop teasing me, baby. you can’t just look all sexy in my shirt and then not let me touch you.”
“i’m not teasing you,” y/n shot back, trying to hide her smile. “i’m just trying to keep you safe, you big baby. besides, i’m not the one who decided to start a fight on the pitch.”
“i wasn’t fighting,” jude mumbled, though he knew it was a weak defense. “just... heated discussions.”
“uh-huh,” she said, not buying it for a second. “well, heated discussions or not, you’re under my care now, so no funny business. doctor’s orders.”
jude pouted, but he knew she was right. still, it didn’t stop him from reaching out to grab her wrist, pulling her down onto the bed beside him. “just five more minutes, please?” he pleaded, his voice low and sweet, the kind of tone that made it hard for her to resist.
“five minutes,” y/n relented, settling beside him and letting him pull her close. she felt his warmth seep into her, and despite her better judgment, she let herself relax into him, her head resting on his chest. “but no funny business.”
“promise,” jude murmured, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. he felt her sigh against him, her breath warm against his skin, and for a moment, everything felt right in the world.
as they lay there, the lightness of their confession still hanging between them, jude couldn’t help but think about how much he adored her, how every little thing she did seemed to make him fall even harder. the way she fussed over him, how she was constantly updating his family on his condition, how she’d made sure he was as comfortable as possible—he loved every bit of it.
he especially loved how close she was with his mum. every time y/n picked up her phone to send another update, jude couldn’t help the smile that tugged at his lips. knowing that his family trusted her, that his mum was reassured by her care, made his heart swell.
“i like that you and my mum are close,” jude admitted quietly, his fingers tracing gentle patterns on her arm. “makes me so happy.”
“she’s wonderful,” y/n said, tilting her head to look up at him. “and she cares about you so much. i’m just glad i can help ease her worries a bit.”
“she likes you, you know,” jude said, his voice teasing. “she keeps asking me when i’m gonna make an honest woman out of you.”
y/n laughed softly, but she couldn’t help the flutter in her chest at his words. “oh, is that so? and what did you tell her?”
“told her that you’re mine, and that’s all that matters,” he replied with a grin, pulling her closer. “but don’t worry, baby. i’ll work on the ‘honest woman’ part.”
she blushed, the implications of his words making her heart race. “you better, my mom and aunties have the wedding already planned. you can’t put a price on me, mr. bellingham. do you think you deserve me?”
“i know i do because you love me. no other man could take care of you like i can,” jude shot back, a playful glint in his eyes.
y/n rolled her eyes again, but she couldn’t hide her smile. “yeah, yeah. now, let me check your head before you get any more ideas.”
“always so bossy,” jude teased, though there was no bite to his words. “turns me on.”
y/n huffed a laugh, gently moving his face away with a light shove. “don’t even start,” she said, though she couldn’t help the fondness in her voice. “you’re supposed to be resting.”
“i am resting,” he protested, catching her hand in his. “just resting better now that you’re here.”
y/n shook her head, a soft smile playing on her lips. “you’re lucky you’re cute,” she muttered, leaning down to brush her lips against his once more. “now behave, or i’ll have to call your mum and tell her you’re being difficult.”
“you wouldn’t dare,” jude gasped, feigning shock.
“try me,” she shot back, smirking as she sat up to check his bandage. “now, sit still, or i’ll add ‘uncooperative patient’ to my report.”
jude couldn’t help but laugh, loving how easily they fell into this playful banter. the way she cared for him, how she balanced between strict and loving—it made him fall even more for her. and as they spent the day together, with her tending to his every need and him trying to push her buttons just enough to get a reaction, jude couldn’t help but think that maybe, just maybe, he could get used to this—a life where they shared these little moments, where she was always there to look after him, to keep him in line, to love him the way she did.
and as the day drew on, with the light fading and the warmth of their shared confessions still lingering, jude found himself feeling more content than he ever had. because in her, he had found everything he’d ever wanted—someone who challenged him, cared for him, and loved him with a heart so pure and true that he couldn’t help but love her back just as fiercely.
and for jude, that was more than enough.
the next day, y/n’s place was a full house. jude had a bit of time off to recover, and it seemed like everyone wanted to pitch in, making sure he got better. the sun streamed through the windows, filling the space with warmth as laughter echoed off the walls. y/n’s mom had arrived early, her arms full of groceries and herbal remedies she swore would have jude back on his feet in no time.
denise, jude’s mom, wasn’t far behind, bringing homemade soup that she claimed was a family secret for healing. it didn’t take long for y/n’s mom and denise to strike up a conversation, the two women instantly connecting as they compared notes on how to best take care of their kids. y/n watched them from the kitchen, her heart swelling with affection at how easily they got along. it felt right, having both families together like this.
jude, seated on the couch, couldn’t help but smile as he observed the scene. the sight of y/n moving around her home, effortlessly playing hostess, made him feel a sense of contentment he hadn’t known he needed. he loved seeing her like this, surrounded by the people she loved, comfortable in her own space. and it didn’t hurt that she kept sneaking glances his way, her eyes soft with affection every time they met his.
“hey auntie,” jude called out with a grin when y/n’s mom entered the living room, holding up a jar of some mystery concoction. “what’s that you’ve got there?”
y/n’s mom shot him a mock-serious look, her lips twitching with amusement. “this, my child, is going to help you heal faster than anything those doctors can give you.”
jude chuckled, holding up his hands in surrender. “i believe you, auntie. if it means getting better faster, i’m all for it.”
she finally cracked a smile, her eyes warm as she looked at him. “that’s what i like to hear. now, i know denise here has her soup, but you’re going to take this too. we’ve got to get you back on that pitch, don’t we?”
“yes, ma’am,” jude replied, his tone respectful, but there was a playful glint in his eyes. “you’re the boss.”
“good boy,” she said, patting his shoulder affectionately before turning to y/n. “and you, my beautiful daughter, make sure he takes this every morning. no slacking, got it?”
y/n nodded, trying to suppress her grin. “yes, mama. i’ll make sure of it.”
meanwhile, jobe and y/n’s brother, mateo, were deep in conversation on the other side of the room. they’d hit it off immediately, both sharing a love for football and an endless supply of banter.
“so, how’s it feel to be the little brother of a superstar?” mateo teased, nudging jobe with his elbow.
jobe rolled his eyes, but there was a fond smile on his face. “it’s not too bad, i guess. but don’t tell jude i said that. his ego’s big enough as it is.”
mateo laughed, clapping jobe on the back. “don’t worry, your secret’s safe with me. besides, i’m pretty sure he knows it already.”
“oh, he definitely does,” jobe said, glancing over at his brother. “but you know what? he deserves it. he’s worked hard to get where he is.”
“true,” mateo agreed, his tone more serious now. “and from what i’ve seen, he’s a good guy too. you’re lucky to have him as a brother.”
jobe nodded, a small smile on his lips. “yeah, i am. and it’s nice to see him happy, you know? especially with y/n. she’s good for him.”
mateo glanced over at his sister, who was now standing with jude, both of them laughing at something y/n’s mom had said. “yeah, she is,” he said softly, his voice filled with affection. “they’re good for each other.”
as the day went on, the house was filled with warmth and laughter. y/n’s mom continued to fuss over jude, making sure he was comfortable and well-fed. denise joined in, the two women bonding over their shared love for their children and their determination to see jude back to full health.
“you know, jude,” y/n’s mom said at one point, sitting beside him on the couch, “you’re like a son to me now. you take care of my daughter, and we’ll take care of you.”
jude felt a lump form in his throat at her words, the sincerity in her tone hitting him right in the chest. “thank you, auntie,” he said quietly, his voice thick with emotion. “that means a lot to me.”
she reached out, patting his cheek with a motherly affection that made him feel warm all over. “you’re a good boy, jude. we’re lucky to have you in our family.”
he smiled at that, his heart swelling with gratitude. “i’m the lucky one,” he murmured, his eyes meeting y/n’s across the room. she smiled back at him, her eyes filled with so much love it made his chest tighten.
“he really is,” denise chimed in, her voice light and full of pride. “and we’re so grateful to have y/n in his life. she’s been nothing but a blessing.”
“oh, don’t get me started on how much i love that girl,” y/n’s mom said with a laugh. “she’s always been the best of us.”
jude listened to them talk, his heart so full it felt like it might burst. he loved that their families were coming together like this, that the people he cared about most were finding comfort and companionship in each other. it made everything feel more real, more solid. like they were building something that would last.
as the afternoon wore on, the atmosphere remained light and filled with love. y/n’s mom kept him supplied with tea and herbal remedies, while denise made sure he had everything else he needed. jobe and mateo continued their banter, occasionally roping jude in when they needed a third opinion on whatever argument they were having.
the warm hum of conversation filled y/n's living room as their families mingled effortlessly, laughter spilling into the air. y/n sat nestled comfortably beside jude, his arm slung lazily over her shoulders as they watched their families interact like they’d known each other for years. her mom and denise were in the kitchen, bonding over cooking tips, while her brothers hovered around the snack table, throwing sly glances her way every now and then.
carlos, always the one to start trouble, leaned back with a mischievous smirk. “so jude, be honest,” he called out, loud enough to grab everyone’s attention. “are you tired of how bossy y/n is? how many times has she told you what to do?”
mateo snickered beside him, chiming in. “yeah, man, because we know y/n—she’s always telling us off.”
without missing a beat, jude grinned, a cheeky glint in his eye. “oh, trust me,” he said, voice dropping suggestively, “i don’t mind her bossing me around… especially when—”
y/n’s eyes widened in horror as she shot up from the couch, grabbing at jude’s arm. “don't you dare finish that sentence,” she groaned, trying to pull away, but he only laughed, dragging her back down to his side with ease, planting a soft kiss on her cheek, to which y/n met with a playful sideways glance.
“what? i was just being honest,” he teased, his voice low but full of amusement.
her brothers looked visibly disgusted. alejandro covered his face with his hand. "we don’t need to know what happens behind closed doors, man.”
mateo pointed at them both, face scrunched in mock disgust. “yeah, no one wants to hear about our baby sister doing… whatever that is.”
“seriously, pack it up,” carlos added, shaking his head. “this is a family gathering, not… whatever this is.”
y/n groaned, burying her face in her hands. “you’re all so dramatic.”
“seriously,” jude added with a smirk, pulling her closer. “it’s just because i’m the only one here who knows how to keep a woman like y/n happy.”
y/n's eyes widened as she pinched his side, hissing under her breath. “jude, shut up or i'll kill you!”
“what?” jude laughed, leaning down to kiss her cheek. “it’s the truth.”
“god, jude,” mateo groaned, dramatically covering his face. “that’s so corny. i think i just threw up in my mouth a little.”
alejandro waved a hand in front of his face. “someone send this boy back to england. we get it, you’re obsessed with my sister.”
jude only laughed harder, leaning into the joke. “what can i say? i’m a man in love.”
carlos pretended to gag. “pack it up, hermano. we don’t need to see all that.”
alejandro shook his head, feigning disgust. “we’ll be fine without my baby sister getting mounted by her boyfriend infront of us, thanks. but really, y/n—how did you manage to do this to a man. he's too soft. it's disgusting.”
“right?” mateo agreed. “this dude was supposed to be cool. now he’s all… whipped.”
jude just laughed, squeezing her affectionately. “hey, i was always a charmer. i won you guys over, didn’t i?”
“please. just stop speaking,” mateo groaned again, holding up his hands as if to ward off more cheesiness. “i beg of you.”
y/n rolled her eyes but couldn’t help the small smile on her lips. despite the relentless teasing, she knew how much her brothers cared about her, and seeing how easily jude fit into their dynamic made her heart swell.
their banter continued, the playful teasing bouncing back and forth, but through it all, y/n couldn’t help but feel a warmth settle in her chest. despite the jokes and teasing, it was clear how much her brothers cared—not just for her, but for jude too. and seeing their two families blend so seamlessly made her heart swell with happiness.
as the day drew to a close, y/n found herself sitting beside jude on the couch, his arm draped casually over her shoulders. she leaned into him, resting her head on his shoulder as they watched jobe and mateo argue about something trivial. her mom and denise were in the kitchen, chatting and laughing like they’d known each other for years.
“if we get more days like this. i’ll die a happy man,” jude murmured, his voice soft in her ear.
“today was a good day,” y/n agreed, her voice just as quiet. “i’m glad everyone came together like this.”
“me too,” he said, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. “i love you, y/n.”
she smiled, turning her head to look up at him. “i love you too, jude.”
and in that moment, with their families around them and the love they shared filling the room, everything felt perfect. they were building something real, something lasting. and y/n knew, without a doubt, that they were exactly where they were meant to be.
the next morning, jude woke up with an idea. it was simple, but it felt like the right thing to do. after the whirlwind of the past few days—the stolen kisses, the moments they shared, and y/n taking care of him when he was sick—he knew she deserved something special. something that would show her just how much she meant to him without overwhelming her with words.
his plan came together quickly, thanks to her brothers and jobe, who were more than willing to help out. while y/n was busy at the training facility, working her usual long hours, they got to work.
later that evening, when y/n came home, jude was already waiting for her at the door, his eyes twinkling with a mischievous smile.
“what’s with that look?” she asked, narrowing her eyes at him, already suspicious but curious.
he chuckled, reaching for her hand. “come with me. i’ve got a surprise for you.”
“another one? you’ve been full of surprises lately,” she teased, letting him gently pull her toward the car, her heart already racing a little with excitement. there was something about the way he held her hand, firm but soft, that made her feel like whatever he had planned would be unforgettable.
they drove through the city, the setting sun casting a soft golden glow over madrid’s streets. slowly, the cityscape gave way to quieter roads, the urban sprawl replaced by the peaceful, open stretch toward the coast. y/n glanced at jude, who was focused on the road but never let go of her hand. her mind was buzzing, trying to piece together what he was planning, but her heart told her to simply trust him. whatever it was, it was going to be special.
after a while, jude pulled up to a secluded beach just outside the city. the gentle sound of waves greeted them as they stepped out of the car, the salty air filling their lungs. the beach was completely empty except for one beautiful setup by the shore—a large canopy draped in soft white fabric, twinkling fairy lights strung across the top, with a low table set for two underneath. candles flickered gently in the evening breeze, and a cozy arrangement of blankets and cushions were scattered across the sand.
y/n’s jaw dropped. “jude… what is this?”
“i wanted to do something for you,” he said softly, stepping closer to her. “you’ve done so much for me. taking care of me, introducing me to your family… i wanted to make tonight about you. no distractions, just us. and your brothers—alejandro, matteo, and carlos and jobe helped me out.”
her heart melted at the thought. she looked around the beach, overwhelmed by how thoughtful it all was. “this is… this is incredible,” she whispered.
“you deserve it,” he said, his voice gentle as he took her hand again, leading her down toward the canopy. “come on, let’s eat.”
as they sat under the glow of the fairy lights, the waves lapping quietly at the shore, jude couldn’t stop watching her. the way her eyes sparkled as she took everything in, the soft smile that never left her lips—it made his heart swell. this was it. this was where he wanted to be, with her, always.
“you really went all out for this,” y/n murmured, brushing her hand across the soft blanket beneath her.
“well, i had some help,” jude chuckled. “alejandro’s got a real eye for this kind of thing. matteo and carlos handled the heavy lifting, and jobe… well, he mostly just took notes for when it’s his turn.”
y/n laughed, the sound like music to jude’s ears. “i can’t believe you got them to do all this without me noticing.”
jude shrugged, grinning. “they love you. and i may have told them it was payback for you taking care of me when i was sick.”
her smile widened, her heart swelling even more at the thought of her brothers working with jude to make this night so special for her. “they’re going to lord this over me forever, you know. especially alejandro.”
jude leaned back, a teasing glint in his eyes. “oh, he did say something about being ‘the best brother ever,’ but honestly? i think he’s just happy to see you happy.”
y/n’s chest tightened with emotion. her brothers and jude—these were the people who mattered most to her. to see them come together like this, to make her feel so loved, so cherished, it was overwhelming in the best way possible.
they ate, laughed, and talked for hours, their conversation flowing easily as the stars twinkled overhead. the world around them grew quieter, as if the night itself was making room for just the two of them. at one point, jude reached across the table, taking her hand, his thumb gently tracing circles over her knuckles.
“i’ve never had anything like this before,” he said quietly, his voice thoughtful.
y/n looked up from her plate, her brow furrowing slightly. “like what?”
“this,” jude said, gesturing vaguely at the beach setup, but meaning so much more. “family. love. everything coming together the way it has. it’s like… everything’s falling into place.”
y/n’s heart skipped a beat, her throat suddenly tight with emotion. she could see it in his eyes—the vulnerability, the sincerity behind his words. he wasn’t just talking about the night. he was talking about her, about them. about everything they’d been building together. and in that moment, it felt like the last piece of her heart finally clicked into place.
“me too,” she whispered, her voice catching slightly. “after everything with javier… i never thought i’d feel safe again. but with you, i do.”
jude’s hand tightened around hers, his eyes never leaving hers as he moved closer, wrapping his arm around her shoulders. “you are safe with me,” he murmured against her temple. “always.”
y/n closed her eyes, sinking into the warmth of him, the steady beat of his heart against her cheek. this was it. this was everything. and when jude leaned down to press a soft kiss to her lips, it felt like the most natural thing in the world.
when they pulled away, her eyes met his, and for a second, everything else fell away. it was just them, under the stars, with the sound of the ocean in the background.
“i love you,” she whispered, her voice soft but steady.
jude’s eyes lit up, his smile spreading slowly across his face. “i love you too, baby. you’re my everything.”
y/n’s heart swelled with a deep, unspoken gratitude. her brothers were her world, and jude, knowing how much they meant to her, had woven them into this moment effortlessly. it was more than she could ever ask for, more than she could ever express. how does he do it? how does he always make everything feel so right?
as a comfortable silence settled between them, the waves crashing softly against the shore, a playful thought popped into y/n’s mind. she glanced at jude, her lips curving into a mischievous smile as she stood, slowly stepping towards him with an unmistakable intent in her eyes.
jude’s brow quirked up, a smirk tugging at his lips. “and what do you think you’re doing?” he teased, already sensing where this was going.
y/n settled onto his lap, her legs on either side of his hips, hands lightly resting on his chest. she leaned in, her lips just inches from his. “we’re alone,” she whispered coyly, her breath warm against his skin. “and as your team doctor... i think you’re officially cleared for physical activity.”
jude's eyes darkened with playful intent, his hands instinctively finding her hips, thumbs grazing her skin in soft, deliberate circles. “yeah? what’d you have in mind?” his voice was low, dripping with that teasing challenge that always made her heart race.
without another word, she closed the distance between them, her lips capturing his in a slow, deep kiss that left no room for questions. her fingers trailed up to cup his jaw, pulling him closer as if the entire world had fallen away, leaving just the two of them beneath the starlit sky.
jude responded immediately, his hands tightening their grip, pulling her impossibly closer until there was nothing between them but the warmth of their bodies and the shared rhythm of their heartbeats. time felt like it stood still, the only thing that mattered was the way she made him feel—like he was exactly where he was supposed to be.
when they finally broke apart, breathless and flushed, jude's lips quirked into a crooked grin. “you'll have to clear me like that everytime, baby,” he teased, his voice a husky rumble that sent a shiver down her spine.
y/n bit her lip, her gaze still playful as her fingers traced the line of his jaw. “well, i take my job very seriously.”
he let out a soft laugh, his hand moving up to gently tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. “you make me crazy, you know that?” his tone was teasing, but there was a depth behind it, a weight to the words that made her heart squeeze with affection.
she stared into his eyes, her heart swelling with a sudden rush of emotion she couldn’t hold back any longer. “i love you, jude,” she whispered softly, her voice barely above a breath but carrying all the weight of her feelings.
his teasing smile softened into something tender as he leaned forward, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. “i love you too, y/n,” he whispered back, his arms wrapping tighter around her as though he never wanted to let her go. “more than anything.”
they sat there, wrapped up in each other, the sound of the ocean serenading their quiet moment, and for y/n, there was no doubt in her mind—this, right here, was exactly where she was meant to be.

After dinner, as everyone moves to the living room, Changbin suggests a game to keep the fun going. He pulls out a deck of cards and challenges everyone to a friendly competition. As the games progress, your older sister decides to have a little fun and teaches Changbin a playful curse word in Chinese "操" (cāo)", giggling as she explains its meaning. Your older brother, always the jokester, decided to teach him a few Italian phrases, and soon enough, they were laughing over his attempts to pronounce them correctly. After dinner, it was decided that you would have a movie night. Jisung complimented your mom's cooking and even asked for tips on making the perfect sauce. Just be yourself.” Before he can respond, the door slides open, and your father greets you both with a wide smile. “らっしゃい (Irasshai)! Welcome, Seungmin!” he says warmly.Seungmin bows quickly, his cheeks slightly flushed. “Thank you for having me,” he says, his accent charmingly precise.Inside, the dining table is set with an impressive spread of sushi, tempura, miso soup, and rice—your mother’s finest cooking. You know she’s pulled out all the stops for tonight. As everyone sits down, Seungmin looks at you, his eyes sparkling with both gratitude and nerves. “This looks incredible,” he says earnestly, directing his comment to your parents. Your mother smiles, clearly pleased. The conversation flows easily at first, with your father asking Seungmin about his career, life in Korea, and how the two of you met. Seungmin answers thoughtfully, his wit and charm earning laughs and approving nods.At one point, your mother speaks quickly in Japanese, and you can tell Seungmin doesn’t catch all of it. You lean in to translate. “She’s asking if you’d like seconds.” Seungmin’s face lights up as he replies in Japanese, carefully enunciating, “ごちそうさまでした。すごく美味しいです (Gochisousama deshita. Sugoku oishii desu).”Your mother’s face brightens, her hands clapping together in delight. “You’ve been practicing!” she says in Japanese, her pride evident.Seungmin grins, and you feel your chest swell with affection. He’s trying so hard, and it’s clear your parents notice., as you walk to the car, you tease him, “Look at you, winning them over like a pro.”He laughs, his cheeks tinged pink. “I just wanted to show them how much you mean to me.”The sincerity in his voice makes your heart flutter. Under the glow of the city lights, you know he’s already become a part of your world—and your family.
**jeongin** The evening began with Jeongin arriving at your home, his bright smile instantly making you feel at ease. As he settled in, your family decided to embrace a Vietnamese-themed night, celebrating your heritage together. Your mom took the lead, teaching Jeongin how to make traditional dishes like pho and spring rolls, while your dad shared stories about Vietnamese culture and the significance of family meals. After dinner, your family suggested playing some fun Vietnamese games. Jeongin was excited to join in, showcasing his playful side. He introduced everyone to popular games from Vietnam, while you taught them about some local favorites, creating a lively atmosphere filled with laughter and friendly competition. To end the night on a sweet note, your family set up a dessert station featuring classic Vietnamese treats like bánh flan and chè. Jeongin was thrilled to try each dessert, playfully competing with you to see who could guess the ingredients in each dish.As the night wrapped up, you and Jeongin stepped outside for some fresh air. Under the stars, he smiled and said, "I had an amazing time tonight! Your family is so warm and welcoming!" You felt a wave of happiness, knowing that this special gathering had created beautiful memories for both of you.
hope you enjoyed ✨✨✨

haii can you do skz ideal types? like physique and personality. thank youu
Hi:) since i want to do those readings properly im gonna do them one by one and since i already have some for individual members i'll use this ask to start with chan:)
So, i originally started doing an Ideal Type reading but it got hijacked😅 so i guess im reading on his current energy. I'll try to still add something about his ideal type if i manage getting past the bitter energy but i think ill have to redo it some other time since i believe his opinion would be very influenced by his current feelings right now.
Take it with a grain of salt!!!
Chan's current energy / Ideal Typ
For his physical type i got pretty weird cards ngl, 3 of them are the tower, 5 of cups and 5 of wands, the 4th one's queen of pentacles. Tbh i didn't really get any hints about anything physical. He seems angry and bitter.
I think this reading is gonna be hijacked by something else he wants to talk about. I sense he has had a bitter experience thats still fresh in his mind, i think he got dumped tbh!
Like im seeing a situation with lots of bickering. Ogmg ok wait i have so much to say about it this situation has so many layers!
He feels like he lost something great and regrets his stupid actions.
At the same time tho he thinks its that persons fault and if they were better he wouldn't have acted in a way that would get him dumped.
But then again he feels like he's at fault and regrets it a lot.
But he's also so angry cuz they kept having fights, and she kept exhausting him and he kept not being enough. He feels horrible when he's not enough! He doesn't want to feel like that. He wants to live up to her expectations, to peoples expectations. But he just couldn't in this situation with that person.
It seems like he actually got himself a high quality girl - the he couldn't keep obviously. And he's in so much distress with all his conflicting feelings and thoughts. Im sry but im getting a bit angry at him here🙄 its that male stupidity with lack of accountability whatsoever! You cant expect to give the bare minimum, to be an excuse of a "man" and except to get all the perks real man and masculinity gets you! Deal with the consequences bro🙄 -> not necessarily meaning him, im just seeing the picture from his view, so idk how "horrible" he actually was, i was rather talking about the general population of useless men that just have the audacity to expect the best when they themselves aren't worthy of it and then get mad when they can't keep it.
Anyways back to chan - im also getting mommy's boy vibes here omg its getting worse😩😭 i feel like with this situation he's like "forget her bro, she's not worth it. Your mom used to cook and clean, and take care of 3 children and do everything by herself and she didn't whine and was always so giving. I want a woman like that! This girl wasn't lie my mother - she's not worth it, get over her and stop feeling guilty." Don't take that monologue word for word i was rather training to paint the feeling behind his thoughts.
So yeah we have that...tbh i didn't expect him to have a reaction like that like with the comparison to his mom. The rest i expected, but this? Damn🥲
Also this whole situation seems very dramatic, but what I've noticed in the male population overall is that they tend to blow things way put of proportion, and so knowing chan and his tendencies for a victim-complex, pick me, delulu and stuff - im pretty sure this situation might've been not dramatic at all. Just 2-3 little discussions (not full blown arguments and fights as he depicts it) or even just opposing opinions, where he just felt attacked in some way just by her disagreeing or something...and then after a few dates or weeks of dating she politely told him she doesn't want to see him anymore cuz they don't see compatiable and he broke down.
Again idk how things are for real cuz i haven read the other girls energy nor have i read just the energy itself, im just reading HIS energy and perception, but it feels really needy and excagerated so thats whats leading me to believe that it might not be nearly as bad.
So i managed to get some cards on his ideal types personality only and i got those: 3 of cups, 6 of pentacles, page of cups & king of wands.
His types a younger, more innocent and inexperienced girl he can take care of and teach and lead.
She likes a girl that's social but shy. Someone he can take with when meeting his friends and show of. But as i said - social enough for him to be able to do that - but but also shy so he stays sure that theres no risk of her "going wild" (goddamn bro u forreal?🫠)
Im actually getting something about physical appearance - slender, middle hight, like just a bit shorter than him, prefferably forreign with lighter skin and ginger or light brown or dark blonde hair. Im also seeing big head? Like yk this type of body with very slender narrow shoulders, long lanky arms and legs, but a bigger head where it also seems disproportionate to the body? Its so specific i almost think thats what his last girl looked like.
And he also wants a girl thats submissive and will see up to him and make him feel like a boss or a king or a ...daddy (🤢 im sry i just cant hold in the cringe)
In conclusion - i think this ideal type i got from the cards isn't his true ideal type but rather something that came out of spite. Like if i had to guess he's describing the girl he lost, but without her empowering qualities so that he doesn't get hurt.
Judging on the energy of this reading and previous ones ive done i think he has had a think for strong dominant women because he's fascinated with inner strength and power and always wanted to conquer a woman like that because in his head it meant he has that amount of power and strength the said woman had and even more - since he has managed to tame and conquer her. Now that he's tried tho he got met with the cold reality and got a slap in the face realizing he might not be fit for the task just yet and is just sour about it😃
As weird and unexpected this reading was i really enjoyed it cuz it was really shocking to me actually and even gave me a bit of a slap in the face, reminding me how he's just a man...and that he apparently does stupid things like any other guy too.

buffy/faith for the ask game
(Reverse unpopular opinions)
Easily my favorite Buffy ship and one of my favorites in any work of fiction. I think the main reasons it works so well for me are:
The way it resonates so strongly with what's going on in the rest of the show the season Faith arrives. I mean, Buffy comes out to her mother (as a Slayer), which is treated by the show as ... well, as Buffy coming out ("it's because you didn't have a strong father figure, isn't it?" / "have you tried ... not being a Slayer?" / "I've tried to march in the Slayer Pride Parade...") and a handful of episodes later Buffy meets another girl who is also a Slayer and who she starts spending a lot of time with (because they have a connection -- "it's kind of a Slayer thing" -- which she doesn't have with her other, non-Slayer friends). And while they're busy patrolling cemeteries and looking for vampires every night, this other Slayer is keen to (1) talk to Buffy about sex and quiz her on her love life; (2) repeatedly tell her that "all men are beasts" and "losers" who can't be trusted; (3) suggest that Buffy should be more open to having sex with the people she spends her nights hunting vampires with (like ... who, Faith?); and (4) is delighted when Buffy breaks up with her boyfriend (and later furious when she gets back together with her previous ex) and immediately suggests that she could replace him ("You're still going to that dance, right? [...] Why don't we go together?"). If this was deliberately laying the ground work for an explicitly romantic arc, it would feel pretty heavy-handed. The fact that it apparently wasn't (at least not on the part of the showrunner or of most of the writers) almost makes it work better, in some ways.
The way that Faith is, from the very beginning, very deliberately written as a foil for Buffy, a person Buffy might have been if things went just a little differently in her life -- because she goes through things very much like things the audience has already seen Buffy go though (living alone in a small place in a strange town with no friends all season the way Buffy did in Anne, panicking and starting to pack to run away in Faith, Hope & Trick in the same way Buffy was accused of doing just the episode before, killing a person the way Buffy thought she had in Season 2's Ted, the way her fear of Kakistos mirrors Buffy's fear of the Master in When She Was Bad) and because she is so aware of the fact that she's always being compared to Buffy and coming up short, either by other people or herself ("you get the Mom, you get the Watcher ... what do I get?") it's very easy to tie Faith's arc across the show back to Buffy and to her feelings about Buffy. Faith wanting Buffy to accept her becomes Faith wanting this idealized version of herself to forgive her failings. And likewise Buffy recriprocating Faith's feelings and admitting to herself that she is attracted to Faith becomes Buffy accepting that Faith (and the things she represents) really are an integral part of Buffy herself; that Faith isn't entirely wrong when she says that Buffy enjoys being a Slayer and that being a Slayer is something she should be proud of (or, again, being "a Slayer").
Apparently this wasn't the original plan for the character (if there ever was anything like an 'original plan'), but the fact Faith's arc in Season 3 so clearly mirrors Angel's in Season 2 -- and the fact she is so very weird about Angel all season (and that Buffy is equally weird about how attracted to Faith she just keeps insisting Angel must be) just naturally suggests that Faith might have a similiar role to Angel in the narrative beyond just the circumstances of her betrayal of (and later not-quite-being-killed by) Buffy. And Angel is -- for the first three seasons of the show at least -- primarily cast in the role of Buffy's doomed tragic love interest who she has to (metaphorically) kill but will later be reunited with. Which makes Faith ... well, something.
Even if not all the writers were on board, the fact that Eliza Dushku was deliberately playing Faith as attracted to Buffy (and that SMG was playing Buffy as alternately frustrated by and protective of and tempted by Faith) gives their scenes together a chemistry that I don't think most of Buffy's (or Buffy's) canon relationships ever managed. Whether that's the Amends porch scene or Buffy kissing Faith in the hospital in Graduation Day or any and all of their various fights across the show. And those fight scenes are all great, which is another thing I love about the ship: is it really a proper enemies-to-lovers arc if one of the people in it hasn't tried to kill the other one and left them in a coma for months?
Faith's return to Buffy in the last five epsiodes of the show is one of the last season's saving graces, and it helps that by this point the writers definitely seemed to be playing up the ship deliberately ("Willow said you needed me: didn't give it a lot of thought" / "Defensiveness and weird mixed signals ... I've got Faith for that" / "Deep down you've always wanted Buffy to accept you. To love you." / "It feels like it's mine ... I guess that means it's yours"). Even without ever being canon and without wandering what happens post-Chosen, it feels like there's a real narrative arc to their relationship, from their initially rocky start through to "just good friends" to bitter enemies through to Faith seeking (and finding) some measure of redemption and Buffy cautiously letting her back into her life. Faith isn't in the show much (or even mentioned in the show in most episodes), but it feels like she has a genuinely meaningful connection to Buffy that most characters who appeaer in less than a season's worth of episodes can't manage.
The thing that made the ship work for me, rewatching the show after several years back in 2020, is the fact that Faith is -- even at her worst -- incredibly sympathetic precisely because she is such a loser and hates herself so much. She boasts about being a great actor despite the fact we see her awkwardly telling the sort of transparent lies that ... well, normally only Buffy manages (compare "There's this big party ..." in Amends to Buffy trying to tell her old crush Ford that "there was a cat ... and then there was another cat, and they were fighting"), she wants people to think she's cool so badly but only manages to fool Xander and Willow, she tries to act as though she's happy without friends but we only ever see her alone sitting watching old tv shows or lying listlessly on her bed, she insists she doesn't need a Watcher and "has a problem with authority figures" but she is so openly desperate for any sort of parental guidance in her life that she sides with first Mrs Post then the Mayor. She ties Buffy's mom up so she can have someone to listen to how sad she is that Buffy's moved on to a new guy in college and "dumped" her. The scene in the church in Who Are You? where Faith-as-Buffy furiously attacks Buffy-as-Faith while screaming through tears that she's "nothing ... disgusting ... murderous bitch" is, I think, a strong contendor for the best scene the show ever produced.
As Doug Petrie said, the reason Faith works as a character -- and the reason that Buffy/Faith works as a ship -- is that Faith is incredibly unhappy. If Faith was the cool loner she tries to pass herself off as -- and which some of the fandom seems to think she is -- the ship wouldn't be nearly as compelling to me. Faith isn't just the part of Buffy who loves Slaying and pushes back when other people give her orders, and she's not just another verison of Angelus. She's the part of Buffy from Becoming who lost everything and ran away from home, only unlike Buffy she never got to go home again. As Angel asked Buffy in that episode: "no friends, no hope ... take that away, what's left?". Well, Faith is what's left. Of course Buffy would see herself in Faith, right from the beginning. Of course Buffy would want to protect her. As Buffy (Sunnydale Class Protector 1999) tells Angel, Faith is in pain ... she's somebody who "some people ... protective-type people" are naturally drawn to. The show is very consistent about the fact that Buffy's type is friendless losers who look good in leather and can fight alongside her in battle (but not quite as well, so she can protect them and look after them when they're hurt). And what bigger loser in the show is there than Faith?

Upstead Foster Daughter
Did you ever wonder how Upstead would be as foster parents for a teenage girl? Like Hank and Erin, Hailey and Jay welcomed Olivia to their home when she was 16. Olivia holds a lot of grudges and is full of mischief, but she is also incredibly sweet and has a tremendous need to feel like she belongs. To her surprise, Hailey and Jay will give her exactly that.

[Chapter III] “What if I'm far from home?”
Jay recovers well and three months later Olivia finds herself face to face with him and Hailey again.
“Hailey,” Jay’s rough voice woke Hailey from a light sleep on the chair next to Jay’s hospital bed.
“Jay!” she got up and held one of his hands between hers, leaving a chaste kiss on it.
“Hi, my love,” Jay smiled, the effort to do so appearing bigger than it should be.
Hailey smiled back, “How are you feeling?”
He made a face and tried to change his position on the bed, a huff leaving his lips, “Everything hurts.”
“I’ll call the nurse.”
“No, wait,” Jay grabbed her hand. “Let us be for a while, it doesn’t hurt that much.”
Hailey stared at her stubborn husband. She knew he hated hospitals, and he also wasn’t known for admitting his pain, but she let him be for now.
“What happened?” Jay asked. “I mean, with my CI and the case?”
“What about hearing about yourself first, huh? The surgery was a success, but the doctor said you must take it easy for a while otherwise it won’t heal properly. You scared me, Jay. I can’t see you in this situation again.”
“I’m sorry, I should’ve waited for you. You’re my partner, we do this kind of stuff together.”
“I should’ve insisted on going with you. Maybe if you had backup…”
“You can’t know that for sure, Hailey. If anything, you could be in my place right now so I’m happy I was alone.”
“Jay…”
“Let’s leave the what-ifs behind, okay? I’m here and I’m not going anywhere,” he was the one to kiss her hand this time. “I love you.”
“I love you too, always.”
Jay smiled, “Where’s my kiss? Or do I have a bad breath? I don’t know how long I was out.”
Hailey laughed, kissing her husband’s lips softly. “It’s been a day and a half.”
“Wait!” Jay said. “What about the girl who helped me? Olivia. Is she okay?”
“She is, it’s a long story though. We found out she had run away from her foster family.”
“Why?” Jay asked with a frown.
“I don’t know, we talked with her social worker but nothing was wrong, it seemed like a teenager thing.”
“Really? You guys went there to check?”
“We did, Kev and I talked with her foster mom. She seemed good, and the social worker confirmed that.”
“Well,” Jay rearranged himself on the bed again. “Hopefully she will be okay. We can keep an eye on her just in case.”
“I exchanged numbers with her social worker. Told her to call me if anything happened.”
“Of course you did,” he smiled, but then his expression became more serious. “If it wasn’t for her… I don’t even know Hailey.”
“Yeah, I was terrified hearing from another person that you were shot, but I was happy you weren’t alone.”
“Me too, I still remember her eyes staring at me in a panic. She must have been so scared, Hailey. But she still did everything I told her to.”
“She was a little shaken up afterward, Kim and Kev said she barely said a word to them. But she was brave.”
“Oh, about the case,” Hailey started. “It was closed rather quickly, I’m sure Platt and Voight pulled some strings,” she laughed lightly and so did Jay.
“The team found out your CI was still working for his old gang, when you called him asking for info on our case he told them and they sent someone after you.”
“Son of a bitch,” Jay said.
“Both your CI and the guy who shot you were arrested."
Jay looked like he wanted to ask a million questions but Hailey spoke before he had the chance, "But now I just wish to never think about this again, can we do that?”
Jay nodded, “You don’t have to, I promise this was the last bullet to my count,” he said with a smile.
“It better be, Halstead!”
⭑*•⊱ 3 months later ⊰•*⭑
Hailey's phone has been ringing for the past 5 minutes, her ringtone waking Jay up. Hailey came running out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel, her long hair dripping water everywhere. Jay smiled lazily at the sight.
“I'm sorry Jay, I forgot to turn it off. I came in so desperate for a shower.”
It was around 1 am when she arrived home from an extra shift. There was a situation in a women’s shelter and she and Kim decided to go and lend a hand.
Hailey did a double take at her phone when she saw the name ‘Martha’, she was Olivia's social worker.
Jay noticed her shock and said, “You're good? Who is it?”
“It's Olivia's social worker,” she said while picking up the call. Jay sat up, all the traces of sleep suddenly vanishing from his brain. Something bad must have happened for her to call at this hour.
“Martha? Hi, yes I can talk. What's going on? Is Olivia okay?” Hailey said. She felt Jay's presence by her side.
“Of course, no, don't worry about that it's not a bother at all. I'm glad you called, my husband and I are going right now, bye.” She hung up the phone and turned to Jay.
“What happened? Is she okay?” Jay asked straight away.
“She ran away again.”
2:00 am on a Wednesday, in Chicago. Jay is doing the best he can to avoid thinking about all the possible scenarios that could happen to a 15-year-old girl alone at night. He and Hailey drove around Olivia's foster family neighborhood, checking places she could have run to. No sign of her. After checking all the places the family said she likes to go, Hailey and Jay started to think further.
“Maybe we should call patrol to help out on the search? Call in the team?” Jay said, already sounding way more stressed than he intended to. He knew she wasn't missing long enough to follow all the missing person's protocol, it's been 3 hours. One of the kids that shared a room with Olivia woke up to drink a glass of water and didn't find her on the bed and her clothes were gone from the closet. However, Jay can't help but think the worst. A lot of things can happen in 3 hours, right?
“Let's check the nearest bus and train stations, if she's not there then we'll see what we can do at the station,” Hailey said, her tone filled with worry.
They got nothing from the bus station, it was almost empty and no one saw a girl walking around alone. But their luck changed at the train station. They noticed her from a distance, sitting down on a bench, a backpack by her side. She was waiting for the train that would come at any minute now. Hailey and Jay looked at each other with relief, moving in the direction of the girl.
“Olivia,” her head spun toward the feminine voice.
“Hailey? Jay?” Olivia stood up, putting her bag on her shoulders.
Jay immediately tensed up, afraid she might run from them.
“Olivia we just wanna help, okay?” Hailey said with a small smile. “Come and talk to us.”
Jay watched in silence, hesitant to say anything that could scare the girl away.
Hailey continued, “Please, Olivia? Whatever you're thinking, it's no good being alone in Chicago at night, we know you know that.”
Of course, she knew. Olivia was scared, she didn't want to run away in the middle of the night, but it was the best time to do this so she had to gather the courage and go. Always looking over her shoulder the whole way.
“We're taking you to the station,” Jay spoke for the first time, “You're not in trouble, but we can talk there, you can tell us what's going on. How does that sound?”
Hailey nodded in affirmation to Jay's words.
“Fine,” was all Olivia said. She followed them to the car quietly. The train arrived when they left. If they had got there 5 minutes later, Jay thought. 5 damn minutes and she would be gone.
Olivia did not say a single word on the way to the station. Hailey and Jay tried every possible topic of conversation they could think of but it was useless. She shut herself completely. Hailey was the one driving and after giving up the small talk, she and Jay were exchanging worried looks in silence. Jay, especially, was in a lot of thought. Of course Olivia shut them out, she did not know them. Between that day at the alley when they first met, Jay being in the hospital and Olivia being sent back to her foster family, neither he nor Hailey had a real conversation with her. Jay realized that he didn’t even thank her.
“I never thanked you for saving my life, Olivia,” Jay said after a long silence.
“It was nothing,” Olivia answered in a low voice.
Jay looked at Hailey in surprise, he was not expecting an answer at all. “What do you mean it was nothing, I could have bled out if you hadn't called my team,” Jay looked at her over his shoulder. “Thank you.”
It was around 3 am when they got to the district. The three of them went over to the Intelligence break room to talk.
Olivia sat at the small table close to the window. “Are you hungry? Thirsty?” Jay asked.
“No,” Olivia mumbled without looking at him.
“I’m just gonna go straight to the point Olivia,” Hailey said, pulling a chair and sitting in front of the girl. “What’s happening with your foster home? Why are you running away?”
“You don’t get it,” Olivia said, still not looking at them.
“Then make us understand,” Hailey said calmly. She looked at Jay silently asking for help, he came and sat beside Hailey.
“We just wanna help you, but we can’t do that if you don’t open up to us,” Hailey tried again. Olivia looked up, looking between them both.
“You don’t know us and we don’t know you,” Jay started. “But we want to get to know you, we want to help you.”
“Why?” Olivia asked.
“Why wouldn’t we?” Hailey answered. “You’re a good kid, you deserve to be happy. If your current foster home is not giving you that then we need to know.”
Olivia thought for a moment. She never expected to see Hailey and Jay again, let alone have this conversation. They were nice to her and she knew they were grateful for what she did for Jay. They probably think they owe her something and that’s why they’re doing this. Whatever the reason, maybe they can help her.
“Fine,” Olivia said looking at the pair. “There is nothing wrong with the foster family.”
Hailey and Jay stared at her in confusion. They did not believe she was running away for the sake of it, it made no sense.
“They feed me, they are nice to me, they give me fresh clothes and a warm bed,” Olivia said. “But that’s all it is.”
“What do you mean?” Hailey asked.
Olivia took a deep breath before saying, “I’m just another kid to them. They’re good people and everything but that is not my home. I feel like an intruder there. I know I should be grateful, a lot of kids are not this lucky when it comes to foster homes, but I can’t help feeling like this. So I made a plan.”
“A plan?” Hailey asked.
“Yeah, I planned to leave Chicago and the foster system behind. I would miss Chicago but at least I was going to be my own family.”
Hailey and Jay looked at each other in realization. So that's why she was running? She just wanted to belong.
“I know the system's not perfect Olivia, but running is not the solution,” Jay said calmly. “How would you live? And the people who know you? They would be worried as hell.”
“We would be worried as hell,” Hailey said.
Jay nodded, “We would be the first ones looking for you out there.” Olivia smiled softly at that.
“Will you let us help?” Hailey asked.
“Mm-hmm, okay.” Olivia honestly had no idea how they could help, but it was worth a try, wasn’t it?
Here we go! How you guys like this chapter? Thank you again for all the love on the previous chapters!

She curled up on the floor of the shower as the hot water pounded over her body. Cramps tore through her abdomen, feeling as if they might rip the life out of her body. Tears rushed down her cheeks, disguised by the water poured over her. There was no doubt what was happening. She’d estimated herself to be about seven weeks pregnant, or she had been. The pain was searing, unrelenting. The blood washed down the drain with the water. She had no idea how much she’d lost, no idea if she should go to the hospital. It didn’t matter. None of it mattered.
It wasn’t that she’d wanted this baby. Alejandra was only five months old. She didn’t need two under two. She didn’t want two under two, but she didn’t have a choice, didn’t get a say in her own body anymore. Yet, gut wrenching sobs accompanied her pain.
Somewhere behind the roar of the shower, she thought she heard a small voice call out for her, for mamá, small fists on the bathroom door she’d locked, but she wasn’t sure, and she didn’t plan on moving anytime soon. A low groan ripped through her body as the pain in her abdomen grew again and her eyes fluttered shut, let herself feel detached from the world.
A sudden pounding brought her back too, still disoriented and hazy. She struggled to comprehend it at first, the loud demanding shouts in Spanish. Did she know Spanish? Of course she did, but the second language felt jumbled in her mind right now.
The shouts continued until finally the words began clicking in her head. “Come out, your son is asking for you!”
She managed to lift her head, call out just loud enough to be heard over the shower and through the door. “Get Juana. I can’t right now.”
“You’re a mom. Don’t be fucking selfish right now!” His voice grated at her.
Maybe it was the pain or the locked door that made her self preservation disappear, but she wasn’t going to put up with his bullshit tonight. He’d turned her into his plaything, a doll to command as he pleased, and this is what happened. He could be the father he pretended to be for one. “You’re his father! Help him for once!”
The world went silent for a second. She felt her muscles release a little bit of tension. He’d listened for once, and then the sound of wood splitting hit her ears.
Her eyes opened in time to find him leering over her naked body. The door laid in the middle of the bathroom, completely off its hinges. He’d knocked it in. She felt fear seize control of her body. Where was Miguelito? Was he watching this? Her eyes scanned as best as she could as he hulled her to her feet, shoving her against the tile. She screamed as her head knocked back against it, the water flying in her face causing her to sputter. She had no idea if her young child was witnessing any of this.
“Who the fuck do you think you are?” He spat in her face, paying no mind to the water soaking through his clothing as his wife ventured further into hysteria. “Your only job is to see to our children! Is that too hard for you? Is it?”
Her vision blurred either from the tears or water or the splitting headache she had now. Her body kicked into overdrive as she tried desperately to free herself from his bruising grip. It only served to frustrate him more. “Have you gone mad?” He continued to scream at her, but it did nothing but enrage him more, sending her further into madness.
He reached over, twisting the temperature control knob to the coldest setting. She screamed. It felt like icicles were penetrating her skin. Another cramp ripped through her body, another loud moan as she attempted to double over, restrained by Miguel pinning her to the wall.
She couldn’t get her bearings, couldn’t find a thread of composure. Emily had been through hell in her time under Felix’s thumbs, but she’d never longed for death, never felt like it might be so close.
“Let me go!” She managed, but in indistinguishable English. It only furthered Felix’s anger toward her. He hated when she used it. He couldn’t speak it so he forbade it.
“Aww, are you cold?” A sharp stinging hit her cheek. It took her a second before she realized he had hit her. Then, the water turned from pins and needles to boiling hot that made her skin feel like it was going to melt off her skeleton.
“Please…” She sobbed, a deep wallowing that seemed to come from a different dimension, struggling her catch her breath. Miguel had moved himself out of the direct line of the water, keeping himself from getting burned. “It hurts.”
Miguel shook her, but she already felt her mind taking her further from the moment. She wasn’t sure she would survive this one. “You’re hurting our son!”
“I’m having a miscarriage!” Emily wasn’t sure how she managed the words so clearly, but it was as if she had been slapped back into her body for a second.
Miguel let her go and her body crumpled to the ground. He shut off the water, boots loud on the bathroom tiles. “Clean yourself up.” Anger seethed in his tone. “Your children still need you.”
Emily shook as she curled up in the corner, body sending so many different signals to her brain. Silence rested over the bathroom, only the dripping of the showerhead echoing from time to time.
She felt him before she heard him, his small hand on her shoulder. Emily flinched at it and she hated herself for it the moment she realized it was her son.
“Mamá? Are you okay?”
Emily could only soften her cries. She wanted to erase the fear on her three year old’s face, take away this memory. How much had he seen? How much did he understand?
She pulled him into her shaking arms, pressing her lips to his head. Her soaked hair dripped onto his clothes, but he didn’t seem to mind. “Are you okay, Mijo?”
Emily’s eyes flew open, her chest heaving and skin sheened in sweat as she struggled to catch her breath as the panic took a hold of her. It was still dark out. The rest of the house was silent around her. Her bedside clocking read just after 2:30. She could still feel the sharp temperature change against her skin, still hear his screams ringing in his ears.
Throwing back the blankets, Emily stood to her feet, limbs shaking beneath her. Somehow, she made it down the hall to the phone, fingers managing to find the right numbers. With the first ring, she slid down the wall, pulling her knees into her chest not sure if he would even pick up.
Javier was startled awake on his couch by the phone ringing. He groaned. Midnight calls were never a good thing and there was a giant ache in his back from sleeping on the couch. He was going to regret it in the morning.
The phone rang again, pulling him back to the task at hand. Without opening his eyes, his hand reach back, roaming the end table until he found the receiver, cutting off the third ring. “Peña,” he answered.
“Javier?” Emily’s voice cut through the line. She sounded shaken, scared.
Fear and guilt coursed through him, causing him to shoot up to a sitting position. He winced as his back protested, but it was barely a thought. “Em? What’s wrong?”
There was a pause. Her shaky breath was the only thing he could hear. “I just- I had a nightmare.”
Javier ran a hand through his hair, letting his body ease back. “How bad?”
“A memory.”
“Wanna talk about it?”
“No…”
Javier shifted on the couch. His brain raced with what to say, apologies, excuses, but in the end he came up with nothing, sitting in silence with her, but maybe it was what she needed, maybe it was what they both needed.
Emily broke the silence. “If I close my eyes, I can pretend I’m on the back patio on the ranch.”
Javier closed his eyes, recalling their nights spent outside, summoning the breeze on his skin and the chirping crickets.
“I miss it.”
You, his brain chimed. I miss you. But he couldn’t bring himself to actually say it.
“Then you should come home.”
“Job’s not done.”
“The job won’t ever be done, Javier.”
Javier let out a long sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose. Stechner’s words playing in his head again. We lost it. But he needed Cali behind bars. All of them. He thought about Christina, still missing. He needed to find her. He knew his job wasn’t done. It couldn’t be done yet, but the back patio, a bottle of whiskey, Emily. It called his name.
He could leave now, be on the back porch tomorrow evening.
“The nightmare- the memory,” Emily stuttered. She must’ve taken his silence for an answer. “Miguelito was there when it happened.”
Javier sucked in a breath. He was never sure how much the kids knew, how much they saw, remembered. He’d never asked.
“I don’t know how much he saw. He was three and I was huddled in the corner, shaking.” He could hear her voice wavering. “He was only three and he came over to comfort me. I flinched when he touched me. My three year old touched me and I flinched.”
Javier swallowed. “Em…”
“I should go.”
He could hear the tears on her voice. “You don’t have-“
“Goodnight, Javier. Thanks for picking up.”
There wasn’t any sarcasm in her tone. It sounded genuine, like she was grateful, like she believed it was an inconvenience for him to answer his own damn phone.
“Mustaña-“ but the line went dead.
Javier stared at the receiver in his hand. The long tone playing back at him. He should call her back, tell her everything he hadn’t these last months, but fear froze him. He wasn’t good for her. What help could he give her? None.
Javier put the phone back in the cradle but he didn’t go back to sleep.
Journal Entry November 15th, 1994 Dear Javi,
The dreams are becoming more vivid each time. The dream I had- I hadn’t ever recounted it before. It made Trisha cry. She didn’t think I saw it, but I did.
It was good to hear your voice.
Meeting with Don Berna felt like picking at an old wound, reminding him of last time. He didn’t want to work with him. He didn’t want to be there, but he needed to find Christina, for more than just the job, more than just to get Franklin to talk, and Don Berna was the only one with the resources to find her.
Berna stuffed his face while Javier sat caddy corner to him, arms crossed firmly over his chest. The Colombian tried to be friendly, but Javier shut it down. He wanted to get in, get the information, and get out. When Berna’s guy handed him an envelope Javier felt a moment of relief until he pulled out the picture of Christinia somewhere in the jungle, tattered and dirty, holding a newspaper in front of her. “You gotta be fucking kidding me.”
Javier covered his mouth with his hand. He barely heard Berna speak over the shock ringing in his ears. He could only imagine how terrified she was. He could see it in her eyes. He swallowed, rising to his feet. He was ready to get out of there, to make a move. “Thank you for the information.”
“Wait,” Berna said.
Javier swung back around, almost rolling his eyes. He didn’t have time for games.
“I’m going to help you rescue the barbie doll.” Berna took a bite of his food. “To do this job, we need to work with some old friends of ours.”
Javier stared at the man, trying to hide his annoyance and his desperation. Javier didn’t want to work with Berna or any “old friends.” He didn’t want to make deals and watch the bad guys get away, but he needed this. So, pinching his brow, Javier sat back down at the table. He doubled over, couldn’t believe he was back here again. Couldn’t believe he was getting into bed with Berna for a second time, and with much hesitation, he and Berna reached an agreement. He just hoped he hadn’t sold his soul to the devil again. He needed this time to be different.
Journal Entry November 18th, 1994 Javi,
I don’t expect you to call me anymore. We didn’t talk about it, but I don’t think you will. I’m disappointed, but I’m going to be okay.
I hope.
“Who would’ve thought it, Javier? Both of us bosses.” Berna said. “They give give you a nice place in Bogotá?”
He was goading him, trying to get a rise out of him. Javier wasn’t going to fall prey to it, shooting the man a sideways glance as he loaded up his tactical vest. “It’s good.”
“You should see my house. I can shit in a different bathroom everyday of the week. My wife loves it.”
Javier kept his focus on the vest, making sure everything was secured and where it needed to be. “Your wife?” Javier couldn’t help the slight tip of his lips.
“I’m a family man,” Berna replied. “I bet you still live out of a suitcase.” He chuckled.
That comment made Javier pause for the briefest second. It bothered him. How did Berna know exactly what to say? He didn’t know about Emily or the kids, but they weren’t his family. They weren’t his, but the comment did what it was supposed to. It got out under his skin. Javier met the man’s eyes.
“Guess catching guys like me makes it all worth it, right?”
Javier loaded the magazine into his pistol, staring daggers at Berna. He brushed past him, tucking his pistol into the holster at his back without saying another word.
Even as they took the helicopter in, Javier couldn’t get the conversation out of his head. He thought back to the way he came back with two suitcases and a box. The helicopter landed and Javier let his tactical training take over.
They got Christina out. Javier helped her into the helicopter, assured her she was safe. They were taking her to Miami. When he slid in next to her, she put a shaking hand on his bicep, squeezing it tightly. Javier put his hand over it, holding it there until her shaking finally stopped and she fell asleep against his shoulder, but he wasn’t in Colombia during that helicopter ride. He was back in Texas on a back patio. He wondered if Emily would let him hold her like this again, or would she jump at his touch?
Journal Entry November 19th, 1994 Dear Javi,
Chucho has started to saddle Paz for me when we go for Ale’s lessons. Riding around the ranch helps. Sometimes I just watch the boats cross the river. It makes me think about you. How much they bother you. Sometimes I laugh. Other times I scream or cry. Sometimes I scream at you and actually expect you to respond. It feels good.
“Less than an hour and we’re on that plane,” Javier said, turning to face Christina.
She sat in her chair, staring straight ahead in sweats and a Colombia sweatshirt from the airport gift shop. She’d been able to take a shower since the extraction. Javier had felt relief when she emerged from her shower, the grime washed away and no apparent cuts or bruises to be seen, but he knew the mental ones she bore. Couldn’t shake off the dissociating stare she held.
He’d seen that from Emily on her worst days. Their recent phone conversation ran through his head. Had those days increased? Javier pushed the thoughts back. He was getting too good at that. Christina paid him no mind.
“Your husband knows.” He took a seat in the row behind her, leaning over his knees. He couldn’t make this better for her. “He’ll be waiting for you.”
Christina stayed silent, fingers raking over her jaw line, eyes pinned to nothing in front of her. She didn’t move. Not a single muscle in her jaw twitch, not a hint or acknowledgement that she heard him.
Javier felt the guilt piling up. He looked down at his hands, searching for the words to assure her, to make her feel like the last few weeks hadn’t been in vain, but nothing would make the fear go away, the suffering. “It’s all behind you now, Christina.” It was a bullshit answer. Not a living soul had ever bought that line.
She knew it too. A saccharine smile pulled her lips, nails picking at the chapped skin there. She almost laughed, sarcasm dripping from her lips. “And you think I should thank you for that?”
Javier sighed. “No.” He looked down at his shoes. “No, I don’t.”
“No, you think you’re a hero, because you, what?” Her head twisted back just enough that she could catch him in her periphery. “Executed a bunch of farmers to get me out? So that my husband would testify for you?”
“I did what I had to do, and I’m sorry for what happened to you.” He leaned back in his seat. There was no comforting her, no assuring her. At least, not from him.
She almost scoffed, twisting around in her seat to look him in the eye. “No…” Her head shook as she searched his eyes. Javier went still. “No, you’re not, and you know it.”
His breath caught in his chest. It felt like the air got sucked out of the room, like he’d been punched in the gut. For the first time in his career, Javier felt like he was at risk for crying on the job. No one had ever looked at him and called out his worst fears with such conviction, but Christina did it with a surgeon’s precision.
“You’re a piece of shit.” She made sure she looked him dead in the eye, held his gaze for good measure afterward before she turned back around, resuming her earlier position.
Javier sat there, absorbing the words, rubbing his thumb over his hand. The two of them sat in silence.
Journal Entry November 24th, 1994
Happy Thanksgiving, Javier. I hope you know that you’re greatly missed.
Javier took time off after Cali killed Franklin Jurado. After Christina called him out on his bullshit. After he had to tell her she would never see her husband again. He spent the days in his apartment, wallowing, drowning himself in booze, lighting up cigarette after cigarette.
“You’re a piece of shit.”
The words echoed in Javier’s mind like a gong.
He poured another finger of whiskey and downed it in a single gulp. He rubbed his temples.
Try as he might, he couldn’t get it out. Franklin was dead. Christina was widow. He’d failed her. He failed both of them. He lit another cigarette.
Christina’s words layered over the flashes of her in the jungle. Helping her onto the chopper as she shook. The way she clung to him for comfort before confirming his worst fears and reminding him too much of another woman back home. Another person he abandoned. It didn’t matter what he did, or how hard he tried to do things the “right” way, he couldn’t atone for his sins. He was a piece of shit. He abandoned her when he promised he wouldn’t. Everything he touched turned to blood and ash. He would never be worthy.
He downed another finger of whiskey.
The phone caught his gaze. He could call her. He’d had the thought for months. Would she pick up? Would she hang up when he spoke? He pulled it in front of him, the receiver resting between his cheek and shoulder. This was a bad idea. He was in no state to talk to her, but his fingers ghosted over the smooth numbers anyway. Almost instinctively, the numbers came to him as if it hadn't been months since he dialed them.
The space between rings seemed to grow, interrupted with Christina. Piece of shit. Ring. The anger and fear in her eyes... Ring… finding her locked in a cage in the Colombian jungle-
“Hello?”
Javier froze, his pulse racing. She sounded good. So good.
“Hello?” she said again.
Javier’s mind went blank. He’d done nothing but bring death and destruction to the world since coming back. He didn’t deserve to talk to her.
He moved the receiver from his ear, seconds from hanging it up when her voice called out again. “I know it’s you Javier.”
He let out a shaky sigh as he dropped his head and brought the receiver back to his ear. “I shouldn’t have called.”
“You should have called sooner.”
He ran a hand over his head, a slight nod to it as if Emily could see his unspoken agreement. Neither acknowledged their phone call from a couple weeks ago. It was like it didn’t count, like neither of them wanted to admit what those kinds of conversations truly meant to them.
“I know.”
“You’ve been missed around here...”
“Why?” Javier said, but cut himself off.
“Why?”
“Why have you missed me?”
“What are you talking about?”
Javier pinched the bridge of his nose. The alcohol was getting to him, blurring his thoughts. “You shouldn’t miss me. I’m not someone you should want around.”
“Javier, what are you talking about?”
“I’m not a good person. I hurt people. I’m going to hurt you. It’s what I do.” He wasn’t sure he words weren’t slurring together a little. “I’m all tangled up in the drug war. You don’t need that in your life.”
Silence rang across the line, the only thing connecting them across thousands of miles. He wondered if he’d done it. If she’d walked away and left him on the line. He wouldn’t blame her.
“Everyone in my life is tangled up in the drug war.”
“Em-”
“I’m a big girl, Javier. If you don’t want to be in my life anymore, just say it.”
“I’m not good for you. I’m not good for anyone”
Her silence screamed at him. It was worse than if she yelled at him, like when a mother went silent after you did something you weren’t supposed to.
“You really think that?”
Javier swallowed, bringing a cigarette to his mouth. “Yeah.”
“Well, I guess that’s it then.”
He buried his head in his hands. It was better this way. It was better for her. He wouldn’t drag her back into this world, wouldn’t remind her of her past. “Yeah.” he wiped at his eyes, oblivious to the tears that had gathered there. “I guess it is.”
If he was so convinced this was for the better, why did it hurt so much? Why did he hesitate?
“Goodbye, Javier.”
The phone line went dead before he could bring himself to respond.
Journal Entry November 24th, 1994
I didn’t think today was going to end like this. I keep replaying everything over and over in my head. What did I do wrong? Except, I don’t think I did anything. I spent so much of my life thinking, being told that everything that was happening to me was my fault. It still creeps in, but I know this wasn’t me. I just wish I knew how to get through to Javier.
