ik there won’t be a sequel which is fine since you’re already writing a lot of other stuff at the moment , but i kinda remember you mentioned before that the fic originally had a smut scene but you omitted that cause it didn’t fit the vibe of the fic which i understand tbh

Aaaa yes!! The fic did indeed have a smut scene planned. 👀 I can happily share what it was going to be. While I didn't write it out, I still clearly remember what it was meant to be. Essentially, Azul was going to knock you up in the panic room-turned-nursery hehe. In the story, he locks you in the room by yourself and then goes off to give you space (which then leads into the meltdown once you wake hours later). But originally (before it was scrapped) he was going to drag you over to the bed and fuck you all while rambling (very delusional and obsessed) about how this will be good for you and him, how you just need time to warm up to this new life, how he's doing all of this for you, how you'll be a great mama to the baby.

But now that I'm dwelling on it, I like the idea of an Azul who can wait for you to gradually soften just enough to allow him to be intimate with you. A Stockholm Syndrome route! Soft, sweet lovemaking with your boss lover Azul. (๑-﹏-๑) hopefully in this unofficial sequel, Azul finally adds more life to the house because in my mind it is the most bleak modernist house to ever exist. orz he needs to put up some artwork or pictures or decorations so it feels less empty and more like a home for two (soon to be three because a baby will inevitably be on the way).

What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Whoo, this took me down some memory lanes lol. That'd be "Say you love me like you mean it", a Boueibu akorima vampire AU where one doesn't remember their past lives as lovers.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? That's a very good question bc most my stuff has a happy, or at least a hopeful ending. I don't really think there's one that's particularly happier than the rest :P.

Do you get hate on fics? Not yet, which I'm very grateful for.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Technically, the answer is yes, but this far it has only been in convos with very close friends and just one tame-ish scene. I do have fics that will be E tho.

What's your all-time favorite ship? I can't say I have an all-time fave bc my level of how much I love it changes every time I change hyperfixations. But in my current fandom I'd say nieyao, bc it was one of the first ships I fell for and it is still one I'm hella into, like a default.

What's a wip that you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? Ooh boy. I have lots of wips that I do intent on finishing one day, but tbh I fear that I'll get obsessed with another thing before I can get to them orz.

What are your writing strenghts? I guess that when I am inspired and very obsessed I can write a lot in a relatively short time, and I can adapt and improvise as I go. I've made plot critical changes in the middle of a story that was already getting posted without it showing too much lol.

What are your writing weaknesses? My aforementioned dependence on my level of obsession for a fic to get completed. If another fandom catches my eye and heart while I have unfinished fics, those are done for. My motivation for a previous fandom is pretty much non-existent when I'm neck deep into another thing, all my energy is now poured into new fandom with new fics and ideas.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? Not a big fan of it and I don't really do it beyond names or expressions ('et tu', 'touché', etc.)

First fandom you wrote for? Boueibu.

Favorite fic you've ever written? This answer also changes depending on what fandom I'm in at the moment. But rn I'd say "Black hole sun", a MDZS alternative Guanyin temple scene with fierce corpse WRH bc I like the instrospection I do in JGY's character and choices (and also him getting to live :')))).

Everyone is the main character of their own pov, I feel like that what makes roleplay via streaming so interesting. For example, in a TV show, you only get to see parts of the characters life that are relevant to the scenes they’re in, but with this format, you see everything from important moments to random, mundane, slices of their lives.

And then all these personal stories come together to form an ensemble story (the general lore of the server could be seen as such).

Sometimes of course some cubitos have a more prevalent role in whats going on but they’re more main characters of an arc than of the whole thing. Even cubitos who don’t engage much with lore are still main characters, they’re just not main characters of the weird horrorish plot everyone is a part of, but of their own slice of life, sitcom, romcom, family drama, adventure, whatever story.

This mixing of genres and multiplicity of povs is one of the things I love the most about QSMP (I assume every twitch rp is the same but I don’t watch it). It’s like you’re watching a TV show except every episode is written by a different writer. More accurately it’s kinda like watching people in the streets from your window and wondering what kind of life they live, how they connect etc except here you actually get to watch it all.

Not to spoil too much but the reason for the polls was actually because I saw like two videos on YouTube within a week that were reminiscing about DSMP and both of them just unquestioningly called Tommy the main character of the story and I got into thinking about how I've never heard anyone seriously say one streamer's character is the main character of an SMP, or any roleplay thing, other than DSMP, while with DSMP you hear that take ALL the time

But then I thought that actually I should probably verify that because maybe I just think that no other SMPs have this, maybe I'm just not hearing it, and that's when I was like hey wait I can make polls and do a comparison

10. The Thick of UNIT! It's crossover crackfic, with a crossover crackship, that I thought was going to just be mostly me clowning on a throwaway line, but it's gotten fic written of it...? And at least one person uses an OC name as a tumblr username...? I'm shooketh. Plus I want to finish it one day, but each time I open the file I'm smacked with writer's block. (I'm also attempting a beta-reader on it, but idk when that'll be able to pan through at this point.)

13. All of it and none of it. I'm one of those assholes that can just sort of write without much planning if anything (if it's any consolation, it helped lead to shit grades in English class for composition), but sometimes I acknowledge that my memory is ADD-riddled shit so I do write some stuff down if a thing gets big enough. This reminds me that I need to continue what I sunk last summer into planning ahahahaha orz it's taunting me.

27. Nervous...? I don't know if that's the right word for it...? I mean, I've been writing fic for so long that I don't recall being specifically nervous. Maybe the closest would be Lackluster (FFN/AO3), if only because I might get judged for writing a rarepair I've literally never seen before in my life. Law and Viola? Sure, why the fck not. My that admission, Love, Loss, and Finding One's Self on the High Seas can qualify because I also do a weird rarepair in that one too for, like, half a second (Zoro/Reiju, baybee).

29. So, I've got this dynamic fic I've got a bunch of wips and one-shots and story ideas in and sometimes it's where I plop a whole-ass multichapter fic in there, and this is the beginning of one that's on the chopping block for next time I save the new document, because it's been literal years since I added to it. Six-hundred-three words of a probably Doctor Who fic under the cut.

Bill looked at the scrap of yellowed paper in her hand, the pencil used to scribble on it had long faded to a light grey. The cool breeze teased her giant poof of hair and made her jacket dance around her; country air always made her feel uneasy. In the city she could smell things on the breeze—food, cars, people, places—yet out in the country, on the lonely dirt road in front of the low stone-and-moss wall that guarded a stone-and-moss house, she smelled nothing of the sort. It was all animal poo, if there was anything, and she hated it. Adjusting the bag on her shoulder, she took a deep breath to steady her nerves, hoping what she smelled was not simply more poo of a viler sort. She wasn’t entirely certain about this… but then again, what could she do? Where could she go? She had run out of options—this had to be it. There wasn’t anything else that she could possibly… bloody hell. She tried to push open the gate and the lock froze on her, barring her entry. Pocketing the paper with the address, she attempted to simply hop over the wall instead, but it was too thick for her specific height to make a smooth go of it. Her legs went just a bit too far and she cringed, knowing she was going to feel that in the morning. Biscuit-tin, that’s what this place was, she decided as she finally made it over the wall. It looked like a crofter’s plot on a biscuit tin one would find in a Sainsbury near Christmas. Then again, what else did she expect going to the Middle of Glen Nowhere, in the foothills of Ben Nothing? A lot of bloody bunk. As she made her way closer to the house, a flock of brown, horned sheep came round the back of the building and began to swarm her. They didn’t try to do anything—that wasn’t it at all—but they still surrounded her and prevented the stranger from approaching the door, bleating hopefully as they greeted their visitor. It was then that the sound of a small airplane began to rumble through the air, attempting to be heard over the wind and sheep. A tiny dot in the sky high above the horizon to start, Bill watched as the plane flew closer, almost going and clipping the roof of the house when it passed overhead on its first go over the property. She watched the sheep as they all moved as one towards the plane; their field became a runway and—after the craft stopped—it was surrounded by the beasts. The engine died down and two people climbed out, one tall and lanky, the other much shorter though much more average in build. They seemed to notice her right away, as they began walking towards her, the flock following. “We’re not buying anything, I hope you know,” the shorter one said as they approached. She was a woman with brown hair, a northern English accent, and was a few years older than her; the taller one was a man with grey hair and a couple extra decades. I just read all of the orchard verse (currently stuck at home with covid orz) and i am absolutely astounded. It is so good, so profoundly well paced and thought out.

So many moments when I audibly said "THORIN NO!! THORIN!!!" "5 YEARS THORIN JESUS!!" And so on lmao im really feeling like im there with the company through all his idiocy

You know, as a fic writer it's one thing to receive compliments for recent works, but when I get stuff like this about my older fics I just... 🥰 I'm so beyond words, all I can say is I'm so glad you like that verse, it holds such a special place in my heart and it's something I continuously come back to and work on in between hyperfixations. Tolkienverse stuff is such a comfort fandom for me, the only other similar one is BBC Merlin, so I'm glad you like my little contributions 😁

Barduil was actually my first ship in the fandom, Bagginshield I fell in love with through fic and they kind of took over, so I'm especially glad you're liking their fic! It's turned into such a monster I'm debating splitting it into more parts, I'll have to see where it goes since I'm still not done 😬

(Also thank God you said that about the necklace thing because right? Right?? Barduil's whole relationship is just... so good, so much potential, and the films brought them to life in such an amazing way)

As promised, here’s more info on the middle-schooler quartet of my Ibun “Kids investigating mysteries with shady uncle Jikaku” AU :’3

Houmei is 12-year old going on 13 (his birthday will happen during the vacation). He lives in Yokohama and is sent to visit his Great Uncle Jikaku for the summer, who used to live and work in Tokyo but has retired in a rural village in the Tohoku region, where he hails from.

Given we literally don’t know anything about Houmei’s backround, I’m having a hard time coming up with anything too specific linked to his family life; as a general rule, I’d say his family situation isn’t the easiest. He lives with a caretaker, and Jikaku is related to them. The two are completely estranged, and the reason he was sent to him was because of issues between him and his caretaker; as he’d become increasingly rebellious and problematic growing up, hoping that Jikaku would straighten him : D But caretaker definitely has issues with their life as well. Overall, things at home aren’t the best and Houmei isn’t all too unhappy to live at his uncle’s for a couple of months, despite having troubles adapting to such a different lifestyle at first : D He’s an extremely intelligent and curious kid, a day-dreamer, and an avid reader of mystery and fantasy novels. He comes off as extremely well-mannered at first, which surprises Jikaku given the situation he was told, but he soon learns that it’s all an act of course : D He knows how to hold a façade in order to get away with things, and is extremely manipulative towards adults and kids his age alike. At first the other boys find him odd as he talks of weird stuff and acts ditzy at times, but as they’re all misfits they end up taking the outsider in pretty much right away. He’s the type to hide his problems , real feelings and thoughts behind a dorky smile. He doesn’t have much interest in leadership, but thanks to his natural charisma and adventurous spirit he ends up being the driving force of the group by default. On the other hand, he can be a bit of a slob at times and gives into laziness easily. Much like Sho'un, he has a problem with authority, but unlike him he’s able to find sneaky ways to break the rules. As for now he has no definite life plans nor dreams; he knows that if he’d work hard enough he could easily enter any college and take on any career, but he also very little interest in formal studies and he’s the type who prefers researching stuff on his own (he has a very broad knowledge for a kid his age, but he’s not driven enough in his studies for his level of intelligence and pretty listless). His favorite subject is literature, but he wouldn’t have troubles with anything if only he applied himself. His hobbies include reading and writing, skateboards, videogames and daydreaming. He’s learning to play guitar but he’s too lazy to practice often (he also has a pretty good voice).

Jyoan is a 13-year old going on 14 (his birthday is in late September). He lives with his mother and two sisters (one older and one younger) and his younger sister’s father. His biological dad is not in the picture. He doesn’t have a good relantionship with his step dad and his family situation also isn’t ideal, and for that reason he tries to stay away from his house as much as possible (he usually stays at Ganpuku’s house most days of the week). His family was also struggling with money a lot in the past, even though nowadays they’re doing better economically after his mother got married again, he’s still known as the “poor kid” at school, and he was being made fun a lot for being… extremely feminine (no day has gone by without him being called a fag by classmates or his step dad). He used to be bullied a lot more in the past, until he started to clam back (also his friendship with dangerous kid Sho'un made the transition easier :D He’s considered a bit of a punk himself by his peers). Of all his friends, he’s the one who hates living in the village the most and dreams of moving in the city as soon as possible. He’s an extremely ambitious and driven kid, and puts his status above all; he lives for receiving praise and attention by others and puts a lot of efforts in everything he does for that; he has good grades but he’s the type to truly shine only in what he likes (he excels in arts). He’s a sensitive boy, pretty mature and deep for his age (or so he thinks lol), but at the same time can act pretty bratty and and has a really bad temper; the more he’s obedient with teachers and authorative figures the worse his attitude towards with his friends and siblings. He’s also extremely foul-mouthed and gets reprimended for it a lot by adults. He may or may not have a one-sided rivalry with Houmei, as he basically represents everything he wishes to be… or so he thinks (not that he would dare to admit that of course). His hobbies include fashion, drawing, pretentious movies and books that are way beyond his comprehension level for his age (but he still watches/reads them anyways ‘cause that’s what cool kids do right?) and singing.

Malcolm (aka Ganpuku) is 13 (he was born the same year as Houmei but has had his birthday already). Being born in May he started school one year earlier and so he’s in the same grade as Jyoan and Sho'un (they’re all classmates as there is only one class per grade in the local middle school, too). He lives with his parents and one older sister, and his family owns the local convenience store. Ever since he was a child he has been helping his parents carrying it voluntarily as he really likes working there, so he spends a lot of time inside the shop. He has quite the business acumen and loves money and hopes to be able to better his family’s average income someday with a business-oriented job. He has a very good relantionship with his parents, especially his mother. His family hails from the US, but he and his sister were born in Japan. Because of their western appearance and names, they have been both seen as outsiders in the village small community and could never really fit in, if not with the other misfits. For that reason he hates using his real name and goes under “Maru” instead, as it’s close to the japanese pronunciation of “Mal”. He and Jyoan have been best friends since kindergarden, and he gets along with his sister a lot too. He’s a very bright, loud and cheerful kid, he’s the friendlist of the trio and he’s the one who accepts Houmei into their group right away. His hobbies include eating and cooking, as well as manga and videogames: one could say he’s a bit more childish than the others, but he’s often more insightful and smarter than people give him credit for. He’s also extremely affectionate and protective of his friends and family. His grade are pretty good, and he’s basically excels in everything his deskmate Jyoan doesn’t and viceversa :D He’s good with maths, science and economics (and English ofc as it’s the language spoken home), while Jyoan is better at humanities and art. He has pretty clear plans for the future and he definitely wants to go to college and land a high-paying job in the economics field, to grant his family and himself financial stability. Much like Houmei, he also falls victim to laziness pretty often, which may be a hindrance to his dreams of success :D (I’ve talked about his hobbies before, I would include that he’s learning to play the piano but wishes to switch to something more “fun”, like drums; he’s also into soccer and baseball and fantasy books/videogames)

Sho'un is 13 going on 14 (his birthday is in December). He’s an only child and his father is a monk and owner of the local temple (in Japan monks can marry and have children). As you can imagine from his appearance and rebellious attitude, he isn’t exactly the dream heir his father wishes, and for that reason his relantionship with his parents are extremely tense. He also tries to avoid being at home as much as possible and sleeps over at either Ganpuku’s or at his cousin Ryuzen’s student apartment in the city(he doesn’t really get along with him all that much, but he likes his cooler roomates better lmao). From a very early age he was considered a “difficult kid” for a his rebellious strike and attraction to… darker things (he’s the type who idolizes yakuza, smokes in the school bathroom and steals shit as a test of courage). For his reason he has a pretty bad reputation in town and peers and thier parents are pretty scared of him. That, coupled with the failed expectations of his parents, just reinforced his bad attitude and made things worse. He used to be pretty lonesome until he became friends with Jyoan and Ganpuku when they started middle school, thanks to their involvement with the music club. In fact music is his biggest passion, he plays bass and guitar and wishes to start a band someday (school band secondary plot? Probably lol). Music and art are the only subjects that interest him, as for the rest he’s a pretty much a slacker who doesn’t put effort in his studies and has terrible grades. He often says that if he can’t make as a musician, he would open a tattoo and piercing studio. Despite his “tough” exterior, he’s actually a pretty laid-back and reserved kid, not very talkative but mindful, and once you get to know him he’s actually very caring and approachable. He’s the type to defend his friends no matter what, and follows his own moral code that doesn’t accept dishonesty nor ambiguity. He has a somewhat melancholic and pessimistic streak that he tries to conceal with his insolence; of all the four he’s the one who has more… grown-up interests (meaning he’s the only one who’s very much into girls, the others are a bit of late-bloomers in comparison^^’); he’s also the one who tries to bond with the older guys via his cousin, and he tries to emulate them. His hobbies include gravure magazines gangster movies, rock and punk music, playing instruments and sketching out tattoo design.

3. What is your writing ritual and why is it cursed?

hmmm do i even have a writing ritual?? i feel like i don't... sometimes i'll put on one of two playlists: tunes for typing or driving too fast but i'm writing... but is that enough of a ritual??

7. What is your deepest joy about writing?

aww this one is cute. i think the thing about writing (fanfiction) that brings me the most joy is getting to share in such a wonderful fandom with everyone. whether that takes the form of me sobbing over kudos or comments, or just throwing around ideas and headcanons with friends, i think it's really the people that make it so much fun.

11. Do you believe in the old advice to “kill your darlings?” Are you a ruthless darling assassin? What happens to the darlings you murder? Do you have a darling graveyard? Do you grieve?

pffft. i don't think i've written any TRUE mcd.. maybe in where are you roaming where killua is a ghost xD but i like to make my darlings suffer endlessly >:3c i am a darling torturer, and i suffer right along with them!!!

25. What is a weird, hyper-specific detail you know about one of your characters that is completely irrelevant to the story?

hehe i feel like this question and the previous one are where you can really tell this is for writers who write their own original stories and characters rather than fanfiction with characters that already exist and have their own preexisting set of traits xD

i’ve been trying to come up with some weirdly specific, have-nothing-to-do-with-anything headcanons, but i can’t think of any either!! wtf

-killua lives with chronic pain as a result of his brutal treatment as a child. all those years of dislocating all his joints and breaking all his bones can’t just melt away like that no sir

-leorio comes from a small town that’s half fishing village, half canning factory town. his mother died of complications with having a baby when leorio was young and he and his father have a very loving, yet gruff, relationship. unsure if i’ve decided i want him to be one of many siblings or an only child or something in the middle hehe i talked with extrat about leorio the other day and can’t stop thinking about him

11. Do you write scenes in order, or do you jump around?

I almost always write my scenes in order🥲, I feel like sometimes that makes my writing process really slow, especially if I can't figure out how to continue in a specific spot. Of course when I am outlining, sometimes I would write partly and very briefly of how I want specific scenes to be, or if I am particularly inspired then, I would write it first (The Flowers are Blooming is one of such examples, this part:

Yet, though Dazai cannot quite explain why, these waters almost felt soothing, subduing the embers that burned his heart. They embraced him rather than inflicted pain on him. It felt almost enlivening. As if they were slowly and steadily nurturing flowers in places that he didn’t know were still alive, in the soils of his heart he had thought to be barren and void of life.

And when you brushed aside his bangs to lay a kiss upon his forehead from behind after you had deemed your job done. The flowers that had somehow found roots in his heart seemed to sprout, filling his heart, reaching even his throat…

the italics part in particular, had been written since the outline, though of course it's been edited, changed a little so that it would flow well with the fic). I think writing it in order helps me with the flow of my fics. Not just in terms of language, but also transition and especially subtle changes in pov (which I've been trying a little more lately), which I also thought I did quite well in this fic too orz. The pov kind of changes from the reader's to Dazai's then briefly to the reader's then back to Dazai's, I wonder if it's noticable, or if it just slips one's mind, but honestly the point is to make it as smooth and inconspicuous as possible. So yeah, I find it much easier when I write like this, especially when my narratives are usually dominated by inner thoughts.

22. Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process?�� How do you come up with titles?

Hmm usually it's before I sit down to write, but when I do title it, I typically already have a general concept or idea for the fic itself. Of course this doesn't always happen, sometimes I only come up with it after I finish writing it, or I change it after, but it's typically before. And mm honestly it just comes to me🏃🏻‍♀️, I personally chose the main concept my fic revolves around, there's usually a specific thing I want to convey, and I frame my title around that. Sometimes, I make my titles more metaphorical of the main concept or idea I have in mind. Like the title 'Our Masquerade' for a 'wip', it comes from the idea of, hiding thoughts/feelings beneath the surface, thus masks, and a masquerade specifically because in a way the way I want the reader and Dazai to interact is almost like a delicate dance, attempting not to trip over each other. So the title basically comes directly from the image or well the feeling I have of the idea and transformed into imagery/metaphor I guess?

26. What’s your least favorite part of the writing process?

Editing agsjsks orz. Like I do edit as I write but I almost always feel too lazy to proofread it and re-edit it after I'm fully done with the fic.

And thank you for the good luck wish!! When I first started all I had was the starter characters, so I built them and did the occasional experimental pull here and there. My first ever banner four star was Chongyun, but I never built him because I was trying to build Kaeya, Lisa, Amber, and Aether. Now he's c6 and somewhat built! Since you're a Kaeya main, do you have any of his constellations? I main him as well and haven't been lucky enough to get any yet. T^T

Omg if you ever write for Childe I'd love to read it!!! He's a stinky gremlin, but I still love him lol. I think everyone should try writing for Childe at one point because he's a character who can be written in the most interesting situations. And writing mind games between characters is always fun. Hopefully you can add him to your party one day!

I have so many drops from that boss, but due to the fact that I've built Kazuha, Jean, and now Xiao I'm very low on the gemstones. Xiao is stuck at level 80 until I can get enough to make 6 of those stones. But I'm just relieved that it's an easy enemy! :D Luckily you don't find it too annoying either!

The moment I saw Riddle I went :O!!! Maybe I like him so much because red is such a lovely color and Heartslabyul is red all over. Or maybe it's his personality... Riddle and his rules... Yikes. He can be really extreme. I think he would have high standards for his darling because he was raised with high standards. :( Outsmarting him might be difficult considering he's a very intelligent student and could probably figure out your goal the moment you slip up.

Oh, and his face!!! It's very cute!!! I love how his strands of hair are shaped like a heart. Somehow he became even cuter in nendoroid form. T_T But it is funny when they look more like an antenna.

So I feel like I should probably talk on this and why Triage is the way she is since I’ve been asked about this a few times over the forever I’ve rp’d her and her future attraction to a DWN goes well beyond lol cute ship they should smooch cause he’s grumpy. There are things I had planned on this blog in the past that didnt happen because of other plots. I dropped hints on these facts so long ago that I know they’ve been lost to time so for a fresh start Im going to lay them all out.

((An important aspect of this is from this recent drabble which is a turning point in her character.))

I am putting this under the cut because it is REALLY long. I’ve never written a drabble this long before orz. 

It starts with her creator Dr. Charlie Baak who I swear will one day be on this blog when I finally draw her the way I want.

Dr. Baak’s feelings towards robots are similar to Wily’s and Light’s in that she views her creations like children and holds other robot masters in much higher regard than most humans find comfortable. She won’t go to Wily’s extremes but she wont deny that she agrees with a lot of his thoughts on robot kind than even she is comfortable with. She will however break the law for her robotic children hence why they dont have the 3 laws (Except Parrot) which is already bad enough for them all if that is found out.

Triage and Scavenge were her first robot master creations. Triage was designed in the hopes of bridging the gap between robotic construction and human biology. Originally she only wanted Tri to work on robots but the idea of a robot that could create and upgrade other robots would be too much for the vocal robot hating populace. This is however where her story is headed due to plot which is something I've always planned for her so she'll finally be able to work at fulfilling her original purpose.

Scavenge is the obvious opposite of Triage in design and function. Where she repairs he disassembles. Dr. Baak hated that she had to give one of her robots a job like him and it does effect him mentally in a very negative way, but she saw it as her only hope in rescuing robot masters who were unjustly decommissioned. Scavenge stealing the IC chips and cpus of these robots is very much illegal for programming patent and copyright issues.

Watching other robot masters get recycled is the reason for Scavenge's anger and anxiety when it comes to DWNs. He doesn't hate them so much as he hates the threat of his family being decommissioned via association.

Triage and Scavenge used to be the closest siblings as far as their family went. So Triage has heard his horror stories and sat with him while he's grappled with watching other robot master's final moments through no fault of their own.

This leaves Dr. Baak in a very moral grey situation. She will break laws for her children and she will allow them to make their own choices and defend themselves even if it means the harm of humans. They still have to face the consequences of their actions but it is their choice. It was because of the ability of choice that she ended up losing her sons Sand to Wily through the route of decommissioning and Minstrel from his fear of having the same thing happening to him.

So what does all of this have to do with Triage's taste in friends/potential romantic partners?

Triage being the first helped build and monitor the growth of her linemates except for Sand. So her mother's thoughts on robotic freedom and the three laws were rubbed off onto her. Scavenge being the second was then built with being illegal for the right reason via thievery. This also rubbed off from her mother and puts the preservation of robots as a top priority.

Triage has spent her life with a creator that balances legal and illegal actions. Triage likes humans and sees the good in them but in the end she was raised to be robots first even if that wasnt the intent Dr. Baak had. This is a realization that she is currently grappling with now that she has been surprised by her own actions. She went years trying to save Presto (her stalker OC detective robot master from another blog) from himself post his reprogramming into a DWN despite him abusing her, threatening those she loved, killing his own family, him reprogramming her, and other horrible things. During this time she actively saved his life a few times despite others begging her otherwise. However, when put up with the choice to not save a politician that fought for decomission laws she hardly hesitated in the choice to not say anything and thus he died.

When Triage was going through her worst it was mostly DWNs and other 'villain' characters that came to her aid. She knows that DWNs are dangerous and is still very wary of ones she does not know, but once she does know them she has already come to the understand of why they do what they do and are what they are. She doesn't like what they have to resort to for Wily but her moral grey viewpoint and understanding what they fight for that allows her to look past it.

The lives are robots are short. The canon doesnt say how long but its implied in the games and comic through the robot museum that its not very long, maybe a few years. For the DBNs  who were given the choice and drive to survive from their mother, but don't have an army of brothers like the DWNs to fall back on its scary future. Triage has 'died' twice so at this point she just wants to live as happily as she can before the end comes permanently so if that is with someone like a DWN then so be it.

All of this coupled with abuse she suffered in the past and losing two robots she loved beyond friendship but could never start any kind of full relationship with due to decommissioning has left her drawn to strength whether she realizes it or not. It was strong DWNs and Clockman (who is op in his own right) that helped her for so long that she found comfort in being surrounded by strength in her most vulnerable years.

Nobody but DWNs could be around her for long with Presto's murderous rampage against anyone that got near her. This plot lasted for over two years and for a character that craves affection and friendship it was hard on her mentally and changed her character development.

I could also go into depth with her relationship with Minstrel who she has been repairing well before hanging out with DWNs despite him no longer speaking with the rest of the family. Long story short on this is she still loves him despite knowing he does some very illegal and murderous things.

So why Magnet, he's mean and prickly?

Not to ruin future plot Magnet is honest, strong and straightforward on first meeting which is what she grew attracted to when she had stalker terror. He's safety and once you get past that prickly he's caring. An important moment to help start the small interest in getting to know him as a person was what he told her when she confessed that she let the politician die, “Have faith in your decision. It’s for the good of our kind.”

That was the first time someone other than her creator put into words how it was okay to put robots first. Even if she knew DWNs felt that way its different hearing it out loud especially when she was doubting and hating herself for her choice.  

Had Triage's history been different there would be a slim chance for her falling for a DWN. Since it isn't all of Magnets warnings of DWNs are bad, Im bad we kill, ect … fall on deaf ears. She's very much aware of her choices and has lived with the good qualities of certain DWNs as friends for so long that she understands why they are like they are. It is why she has no problem repairing and helping them.

The fact of the matter is the world is not as kind to robot masters as it should be. There is going to be fighting. Triage is still coping with 'sides' and as a robot that can create other robots she is very aware that she has to downplay that ability to the general public. King's rebellion against humanity has proven to a lot of humans that robot masters are smart enough and willing to rebel. So while a robot master that is capable of war is scary a robot that can create other war robots and repair the ones that can already take down human platoons it becomes a terrifying concept seeing as humans have been making all the robots thus far.

Considering how mean and angry Mags can sometimes get (plus the whole willing to destroy cities thing), it makes me wonder even more how Triage and him fell in love with each other--

A lot of Magnet's meanness is actually a warning of what others are getting into by trying to befriend him or his brothers. He is fully aware of the reputation that Wilybots have, he's no fool. If anyone were to try to get close to him or his siblings, they have an extremely high risk of getting burned, sometimes literally. By being mean, it's effectively him saying "you asked for this." In his opinion, being friends with a Wilybot means there's no reason to get upset if something bad happens. That's who they are. Is it a good way of thinking? Not necessarily. Does he care? No. It's insurance for him and the other DWNs.

Plus!! you have to remember that Triage has a horrible track record when it comes to DWNs and relationships. if you look at her history and take it into consideration, Mags is actually one of the best choices she's made romantically in a long, long time, if ever.
