Everyone is the main character of their own pov, I feel like that what makes roleplay via streaming so interesting. For example, in a TV show, you only get to see parts of the characters life that are relevant to the scenes they’re in, but with this format, you see everything from important moments to random, mundane, slices of their lives.

And then all these personal stories come together to form an ensemble story (the general lore of the server could be seen as such).

Sometimes of course some cubitos have a more prevalent role in whats going on but they’re more main characters of an arc than of the whole thing. Even cubitos who don’t engage much with lore are still main characters, they’re just not main characters of the weird horrorish plot everyone is a part of, but of their own slice of life, sitcom, romcom, family drama, adventure, whatever story.

This mixing of genres and multiplicity of povs is one of the things I love the most about QSMP (I assume every twitch rp is the same but I don’t watch it). It’s like you’re watching a TV show except every episode is written by a different writer. More accurately it’s kinda like watching people in the streets from your window and wondering what kind of life they live, how they connect etc except here you actually get to watch it all.

And yeah I fully agree actually, I think this is one of the reasons why this medium is so captivating for me

Not to spoil too much but the reason for the polls was actually because I saw like two videos on YouTube within a week that were reminiscing about DSMP and both of them just unquestioningly called Tommy the main character of the story and I got into thinking about how I've never heard anyone seriously say one streamer's character is the main character of an SMP, or any roleplay thing, other than DSMP, while with DSMP you hear that take ALL the time

But then I thought that actually I should probably verify that because maybe I just think that no other SMPs have this, maybe I'm just not hearing it, and that's when I was like hey wait I can make polls and do a comparison

(I mean I'm pretty sure the polls are gonna be skewed anyway, because that's how Tumblr works, but it'll be fun anyway, and I've already gotten interesting responses in the notes)

The more I learn about QStudio, the more it makes it easy for me to just drop the whole project, honestly. Like what’s the point.

They let the server run as an empty shell.

They clearly give 0 shits about any of the admins that dared to point out problems.

And now we learned that the people who weren’t fired have probably just stayed in the studio because of « privileged » treatment + trauma bonding + manipulation from upper management making them think that the admins who spoke up are liars

[Edit: the situation is more complicated, but this statement up here is going off the assumption that some of the people who are still on the team were never paid and their passion + loyalty are still being exploited, notably to throw the ex admins under the bus. This might be false. They might have been paid fairly since the beginning and are just trying to keep their job. We don't know. But that was my assumption when writing it.]

I really want q!fit's end to be something both painful and happy, though I doubt how they can coincide.

qFit had the biggest uphill character development, who went from a lonesome mercenary to a not so single dad fighting for his loved ones.

qBaghera had the biggest downhill character development, going from an idealist searching for the truth to a broken woman who lost everything including herself.

And then you have qPac whose character development can only be illustrated with the « we’re so back it’s so over » chart.

A LOVE LETTER TO QSMPBLR

I saw my mutuals write those and decided that I also want to say a few words.

My whole life I loved being part of the communities. I’ve been heavily into fandoms since I was 10, and now 12 years later I can firmly state that QSMPblr community is definitely in my personal top 3 of all the fandoms I have been in.

It’s been such a fun and emotional and thrilling journey with so many ups and downs and I would never refuse to repeat it all over again. I met so many wonderful and incredible people because of this server that I can’t thank the universe enough.

All of my mutuals and followers made most of my 2023 so happy, and continue to do so in 2024, and I really need this joy with everything that happens outside the community itself.

(I am sorry this text is all over the place, I am struggling with concentration atm)

And I am so elated and a bit surprised for how many of you I became one of the favorites blogs here. I mean, I jumped from barely 150 followers to around 820 since september, and it’s all thanks to having so much fun liveblogging and theorizing with all of you.

Despite everything, I think Purgatory 1 was my favorite ever time period here. Yes, there was a lot of frustration and negativity but I don’t think I’ve ever felt such a comradery as back then, with my fellow Soulfire mains. I was in the post limit jail every single day, because I just could not stop chatting with all of you and reblogging incredible posts.

I also hold very dearly the moment, where Bad showed Tubbo the Soulfire Base Recreation. But the main reason is not even that this happened, but the fact that so many people on tumblr, in dms and even in Bad’s chat were LOOKING FOR ME, because they knew how much I’ve waited for that to happen. It was just so heartwarming to wake up to dozens of messages and mentions. I struggle with ‘nobody really cares if i am here or not’ syndrome a lot, so it made my day to see that people do.

I also want to say special thanks to some of you (even though each and single one of you deserve a separate paragraph). Under the cut:

@qtubbo and @mikaikaika. I love both of you so much, our 247 crew maybe on a kinda hiatus, but every moment we spent together is so special to me. We had so much fun, and I couldn’t ask for the batter gang to gash about the lore and cool posts together.

@lionheartedmusings. I am pretty sure you do not open tumblr these days, but if or when you see this: I am so glad that I got a chance to be your friend. We held so many incredible discussions together, and I am so proud to see your success and happy to be at least a small part of it.
