Okay so this isnt the first post ive made about shape language,

Here are the others:

i'm just gonna copy and paste the definition i have for shape language from those posts here so i dont have to write it all again.

Shape language is defined as “a concept used in art and animation to communicate meaning based on shapes we are familiar with” (source). This concept uses circles, triangles, and squares to convey an idea of the “personality” of the design without using any words.

In designs, using circles and rounded edges in your silhouette and detailing gives the design a soft and squishy look. They tend to be harmless, approachable, or changeable.

Designs using squares gives the design a solid, sturdy, and strong look. They are supportive, reliable, and inflexible

Lastly, triangle designs are sharp and directional. They are dynamic, dangerous, and unpredictable.

That's base level but here's more in depth description of each design for ya:

this one is up first!

You may notice how in this design, his hair isnt in large clumps like the others are. His hair falls delicately and waves gently with little to no hard angles.

In this design, i was trying to convey the idea of "he wasnt born to fight, but he's molded himself into someone who will." I tried to depict that by making his hair all light and feathery, his facial features soft and rounded, but also showing how he's modified his body in a pointy and aggressive way.

I didn't want to only go hard edges with the piercings though because much like he's strayed from his mold of being delicate, he's also strayed from his mold of being a cruel noble. so some of his piercings are rings, AKA: Circles.

You may also notice the different in how I've drawn the collars of these guys. the collar of this Babo's black coat falls softly, and its' arc is rounded. The shoulders don't have any padding and it rounds at the corner.

Next up is this Freak

This is supposed to be Triangle Him.

His hair is in larger, hard angled clumps. Indicating that he probably cut his hair himself. He did... greattt. I already headcannon him as someone who cuts his own hair, but i dont think this one ever gets any better at it.

The hard angles on his teeth, his scar, his jaw, his collar, that line i forgot to erase on the left, and his coat all give indication that this guy is Dangerous and you probably shouldnt mess with him.

I didn't have any real deeper meaning to this version, I just wanted to make him look as opposing as I could. this guy is "what you see is pretty much what you get."

Even though he doesn't have a lot of deeper meaning, I think this one is my favorite of the designs. I really love these colors on him and his hair was really fun to draw. I think I wanna draw him again at some point. I think this version of him would be very funny paired with Koala. I'm chuckling thinking about it:

And lastly this guy

Sabo's base design is very rectangle coded. From his Hat, to his face shape, to his coat. So this version was very easy to make as I didn't actually need to change that much!

I think maybe I could've made his design a little more complex? But also I think there is a beauty in simplicity for this one. He looks straightforward, reliable, and kind. He seems like the kind of guy who gets his hands dirty, not because he likes doing it, but because he does what he must for the greater good.

I really love his hazel eyes, too. I think it brings a nice warmth to his design that is really nice.

Kiss Kiss Fall into another old hyperfixation

Anyway, I randomly wanted to redesign the main cast of Ouran in my style/ with headcanons and my own embellishments

Here's a screenshot redraw, I'll put all the redesigns below the break bc I did all the main characters & wanna talk about the choices I made. Also I made up that uniform redesign on the spot bc I when I was doing the characters I just put them in casual clothes lmao

(I might do some others later, like Renge, Kasanoda, Yasuchika, Benibara, etc.)

Going in order of my least favorite to top favorite. And dont mind that I didn't color the clothes, that's not whats important here lmao

Mori is only at the bottom because I don't like the drawing that much, I still think the design is pretty good. Though, like right when I finished coloring, I decided a bun/top-knot would look better so it's a bit disappointing there. In my head, Mori is kind of struggling to figure out who he is & what he wants to do, which is why he follows Honey around and doesn't talk much. He does genuinely like being around the other hosts though.

Also, the undercut because A) he has the reputation for being the scary one & it kinda suits that, B) uh do I even have to say it? ...its hot He does lowkey look like Sokka from Avatar tho, especially with the blue accents

Honey is next because again I think the drawing itself is a little off and the design is pretty close to Basil from Omori, which i didn't notice until it was too late lmao. One of the main things I didn't like about his character in the show was obviously how childlike he was & how girls still flirted with him even though he looked and acted 6; So now he still acts a bit childish but doesn't play it up as much & definitely has a more normal voice, not a fckn child's.

Haruhi! I definitely had to keep her glasses cuz they were really cute and kinda sold the whole 'commoner' thing in a way. But other than that I mainly wanted to balance out her femininity and masculinity to make her more androgynous/nonbinary/gender-fluid since she definitely has some of that going on in the show as is. I also gave her dark circles under her eyes to kinda show that she worked really hard to get into Ouran with low status.

Next up is Tamaki of course, getting into the characters I'm most happy with the designs of. One small thing I tried to do for each of them was give them varying hair tones; so even though Honey and Tamaki are both blond, I went very platinum-blond with him. When I started drawing him, my only real thought was "he has to be a pretty boy" so I dont have much to say about my choices, but i do think I succeeded. Don't mind the modern mullet thing, I can't stop it

Kyouya is definitely one of my favorite characters as is, seeing as he has one of the more fleshed out & heart-wrenching backstories in the show. I think the only thing I really wanted to change was getting rid of the Anime Bangs, so I just gave him this kinda sleek, kinda messy pushed-back look with a blue tint. Even though it's simple, I really struggled to come up with anything, until I found a page from the author saying smth like "I don't like the idea of him wearing neat clothes" with a picture of him in like a track suit so I did kinda the same outfit

My absolute #1 favorites, Hikaru & Kauru. They're honestly the ones that started it all because Kauru has been my favorite since I first saw the halloween episode (iykyk).

I don't know why, but I wanted their hair to be fluffier/curly and more of a natural(?) ginger color. I knew I wanted Kauru's to be redder and Hikaru's a bit lighter/blonder, but only subtly. I also gave Kauru a scar on his cheek from that time in Karuizawa, but most notably, I gave them blue and pink eyes as their signature colors. Lastly, their expressions are slightly different, because no matter how much they are in sync and try to match each other perfectly, Kauru's a much gentler soul than Hikaru, so I made Hikaru's smile a bit more snarky while Kauru's is soft.

ACFTL THOUGHTS: SPOILERS AHEAD

I'm going to be completely honest. I really enjoyed acftl and I honestly think one of the main reasons that people did not like it (apart from the lack of evajacks) is the fact that the plot felt disconnected and there were so many unanswered questions.

I genuinely think that acftl is a result of the story curse. My reason being:

● First the bn exclusive foil design had the title 'The Ballad of the Archer and the Fox' on it. We all know that this story is a victim of the story curse; Jacks owns I think 7 copies of the book and some are blank, some have words that move around the page, etc. In some sense, the foil design implies that we are reading a book (acftl) that is already under the influence of the story curse.

● Liana Fox would never tell Evangeline the ending for the stories she told her implying that most stories don't have a clear ending...due to the story curse.

● The quote Liana would say (that every story has the possibility for infinite endings) was Stephanie Garber's reasoning for including alternate endings for exclusive/special editions of acftl. I think that quote being her reasoning for this simply suggests that the story has been affected by the story curse.

● When Madame Voss tried to teach Evangeline the love story of her and Apollo, the book she bought had the title "The Greatest Love Story Ever Told: The True and Unabridged History of Evangeline Fox and the Prince of Hearts" because of the story curse. This alone shows that their love story has already been affected by the story curse because in my opinion, tbona was them realising their feelings for each other and acftl was Eva and Jacks acknowledging and accepting their feelings, so if that's the case then acftl and the events that took place there was their true love story (if that makes sense).

● The story curse means that some questions can't be answered and that there are some things that might not make sense.

Overall, this is my interpretation and you dont have to agree (i just really wanted to post this). Looking at acftl this way makes acftl a solid 4 stars for me. I feel like people would have looked at it different/in this way if it was explained better, but I think the way that it is hinted to the acftl is affected by the story curse is really good.

first off i LOVEEE xion so much. whenever i see her get attention and love im so happy. when i see her i have a habit of going "XIONNNN" super loudly.

my xion headcanons... well first of all i love every reading of her character as a trans allegory & how people intepret her as either trans or nonbinary! i dont think it was done on purpose but shes been claimed by the commjnity and im so happy about it. transfem xion my beloved. second of all shes autistic TO ME but honestly everyone in soras heart hotel is so thats a given. third of all give me xion with big dark brown eyes or give me death!

what id like to see explored in future games / i fanwork: her identity! we see roxas's frustration and anger about being his own person plenty but we hardly see xion upset at her predicament. i think this is because she wants to do the right thing, not because shes okay with the situation. i really want to see xion's feelings about not having her own identity explored, given that everything about her is based on either sora or his memories of kairi and she was basically created in a lab as a tool for organization 13. she should feel weird about existing in the first place, especially next to roxas and naminé, who dont have the same history behind their creation

in addendum to that, i want to see xions character design change to something more unique. she already has a new outfit, but id love to see her have a new hairstyle (whether she grows it out or just puts it up) so she has something different than a mirror of kh1 kairi's hair. i think ive also mentioned that i think itd be interesting if xion had her own eye color after kh3 (side note its bullshit we never got to see her norted eyes in kh3. she shouldve played a bigger role in the story too but thats another rant) to symbolize that shes her own person now, not a puppet meant to copy sora. lastly she !!! deserves !!! her own keyblade!!! there's so many cool keyblades from days to choose from & theres the weapons from her boss fight - theres no reason for her to still be using the kingdom key and i really hope she gets her own soon.

i keep thinking about what you said about xion not being another "nice" girl character and im like... so true. i dont think xion would be mean i want to go about it in a way that doesnt completely rewrite her character but i think exploring how she copes with her past w/ both organizations & her identity & trauma would be interesting, especially with how it parallels to naminé's own way of coping and dealing with her own trauma. theyre like Shy vs introverted to me lmfao i think xion tries to be friendly but overall she prefers to stay close to the people she feels safe around. i want to see xion be rude but in the autism way where she doesnt mean it shes just not aware. and stuff like that i guess. this paragraph was just word vomit my bad

THE SEA SALT TRIO... theyre seriously the family of all time i love them so much. ill just focus on xion here because this is already super long. BUT AXEL LOVES XION SO MUCH IT MAKES ME SICK THEYRE NOT TALKED ABOUT ENOUGH.. the implication that lea subconsciously keeps his coat on in kh3 so xion (and roxas) can recognize him makes me so emotional. also the fact that lea just clicks with kairi because she also holds a part of xion inside her... AND WHEN HE BUYS HER AN ICE CREAM AND HE DOESNT EVEN REMEMBER WHY HES BUYING THREE. UGH. i love them so much. theyre definitely one of those duos found in the trios that dont get much attention which just draws me towards them more (like riku and kairi). i think lea is absolutely riddled with guilt about the events of days so he never lets xion forget that shes loved. i think xion is touch-averse *except* when it comes to roxas and lea because she feels safest around them.❤️

to end i will discuss roxas and xion . they are like a little orange cat and a little black cat to me. halloween colored. theyre so small i love them so much. i imagine when xion first meets the twilight town gang shes jealous bc roxas has other friends :( but roxas assures her shes super duper special to him and no one else can take her place in his life. they have such a unique bond that i dont know if any of the other characters have with each other. just something so special about those two. when it feels like no one else understands they have each other... and i think that makes for some angst when xion struggles with her own issues that even roxas cant relate to

The asks ive been getting recently help me think over lore, hence the changes

TLDR about the lore;

Monsters got trapped underground classic undertale style, but when the first human fell down they had a unique trait of Passion that gave the underground a feeling of love and happiness, Human got sick one day and when they passed Royal Scientists tried to copy the trait but failed, and somehow the failed shit got into the core which traveled through the AU/into the air and it only affected adults because do i really need to explain ?? (tho i kinda did in one of the linked posts) Ages are kinda undecided as of right now, only important age is Frisk because they are the only child (next to monster kid) who really matters/is physically there/not dead, they are 16. My reasoning is that again everyone affected are adults, and monsters and humans age differently in my eyes Toriel isnt affected because she was in the ruins so the corruption didnt get to her Asriel's soul was basically artificially made via soul bits, however he did have a solid body that existed via a egg from Toriel and sperm cell from Asgore, both ended up dying (this is my lazy excuse to make sure Flowey and Asriel can both be a thing ) Despite me referring to characters as "corrupted with Lust", there is no cure nor any end to their sins. The au is again Lustale... So yea :) The timeline went roughly like this, this is based on my own headcanon years rather then official ok?

Year 2000; The war began Year 2002; The war ended, monsters banished to the shadow realm Year 2012; First human fell down, Chara Year 2014; Chara got sick, within the same time of Chara being down there for the 2 year gap Asriel's soul was patchworked together via bits of Toriel and Asgore's soul but it failed and both kids died within the same year Year 2015; Toriel went into the Ruins and vanished Year 2016; Passion spilled into underground Year 2030; Underground turned into what it is now, after quite a few years everyone was used to Lust as the new main for them Year 2032; Frisk fell down, the story begins!!

The day started to derail the momment B spilled her coffee and tripped going up the stairs fom her room. The car that was driving hazardly to her younger sisters was almost at where they were standing at the edge of ther drivew1ay. B had a chance to push them out of the way and then as they say get hit by a big ton truck and die but, it was not quick B chest felt heavy and felt hot like a fire pocker was stabbed and was sitting there burning.

There was a rigging in B ear as she heard muffled shout and felt tiny hands touch her face and move her to be on her back. Then nothing it went all black.

Looking around the room B found a backpacka and laptop. There was a studen ID in the backpack backpocket. Looking at the smirk and the clear green eyes that was unfamiliar to B who was used to seeing brown eyes and long brown hair was a wake up call like no other.

Looking more into the back pack he found balck hair dye and makeup.

" The hell is going on." His chicago accent that she- he always tries to hide shines throught. Looking more at the name B shudders and slowly begins to cry.

As in the top five rich families in gotham. Jesus take the damn wheel. Looking at the name had a shudder going down from the crown of her head to the toes. The name was the name of a character he came up with in his past life, a low level grunt trash that bullied the weak and lord got his ass handed to him by Damien Wayne . Then shot and killed by some thugs at a feild trip.

HIs uncle Adam is pretty much the only adult that Noah had after his parents died he was the only one that believed a 9 year old could run a company.

Anyways he also get the big fall from the wayne family beacuse of course they are all in it.

Plan A seems like the one with less work. There was also something that bothered Noah why was there hair dye.

'Okay'. Name thinks that was something that was a fan theory but, looking at the mirror reflection of the joker is not okay the makeup and the hair dye washed off looking at green eyes pale skin looks like a carbon copy of the joker and the once peachy skin was pasty pale almost white screen.

I hate it when people shame others for not being 100% accurate to their fashion. So many circumstances come into play, there is never a need to be rude when people are trying so hard. Long ago, before jirai kei, I tried to put my feelings in other fashion, I tried Lolita, Gyaru, soft girl, 90′s trend when it was a thing etc. I found myself drawn more towards the aesthetic of Japanese clothes, I wouldn’t mind wearing not Jfashion but at least in my country and my circumstances there weren’t many girlier, softer cuts for clothes. So naturally I became more interested in the Japanese clothing. Lolita was one example, in Japan, Lolita fashion is a lot more broad and forgiving. Fashion in general in Japan if forgiving. But when I tried it back in my own country, there were so many rules to follow! And I do undestand that without some guidelines, any A line dress could become “lolita”, which can beome so vague that it no longer looks accurate to the look. However with so many rules, I found myself more stressing out than relaxing in garments I enjoy wearing. Even something as small as saying “lolita” instead of “lolita fashion” could be ridiculed. Even when the intend is very clear to what I mean.  I was drawn to the country lolita the most, because I wanted to feel a sense of simplisity and freedom, and in general I have a more softer persoanlity. Kinda Ironic I chose to wear Jirai Kei over Ryousangata isn’t it? In anyway, I had about the same feelings people developed years later towards Cottage Core. By the time that became a trend I already quit.  Gosh, I remember how every detail mattered, down to socks and if your shoes have open or closed toes, even when the Japanese lolita fashion accepted either! It was so stressfull. With Gyaru, I never actually got to go outside dressed in gyaru. I went to a meet up once but I kinda messed up and thought it was themed like the meet up before that. Because of that I felt kinda shamed and missplaced. So gave up here too.  I tried some classic Jfashion too, the Harajuku very known ones like Dekora and Mori-kei. Later I just wanted to find easier to find clothes that were simple and comfortable to wear while also easy to find. BUT AGAIN! my country didn’t come through for me. Something as simple as a plain white T-shirt was such a mess to find. Wide Jeans what were those? It would be years before they returned back to fashion. WIth such circumastances its no wonder I had to go through loops and hoops to find anything close to what I was looking for. On top of that I couldn’t order online and could only rely on what I could purchase at a store and with minimal income. Luckily for me we had Jfashion stores, very expensive ones, but every now and  then a gold item would pop up. Something cheap and good looking.  Thats why even though SheIn is awful for the enviorment, it can be so helpful too. Its a double edge sword really. People that cant get the correct sillouete or order from japan, or even just afford the style, can get cheap, stolen designs from shein that cost a fraction, but are also made cheaply in comparison. But sometimes that is all you can do. I dont support theft of course not, but popular desings that are stolen within the community itself, I cant help but feel like maybe its alright? For example, the Jirai Kei bear pattern clothes are so popular, many different brands made similar designs and copied off of each other. Shein also made a similar design, which can be called out for being awful, or can be called out for being inclusive to people that cant afford the bigger brands or order from Japan. And what about Plus size? Most Japanese brands are onesize, to a 3 size methood, which depends on your country could be summed up to, XS, S and M. And what nobody ever talks about is that Japanese women are short! so clothes made in Japan for Japanese women, tend to be short. If you’re a western person like me, even if you’re not that tall, you might not be able to wear the clothes without exposing your belly or not having it sit prooperly on your arms. With such inclusivity I really do enjoy the freedom of using Shein for Jfashion. I haven’t actually ordered much from Shein, because I still cant splurge but from what I did see and try, it can be a hit or miss and with Jfashion it seems to be more of a hit.

Question: Has there ever been a champion that you've wanted to like, but due to one reason or another, gameplay, design, voice performance, it just couldn't get all the way? Does that make sense?

augh a lot of them sadly.

Briar is the most recent one, i already adressed it in a recent post. I dont like they just made her anime highschool girl shaped, i think her design would have been stronger is she was uncanny skinny, it would fit better on her 'failed experiment with terrible hunger' concept and its a lost opportunity to make a character creepy and unsettling as Fiddlesticks was on its release. Im very bothered by her body type (wich is not bad but you know, repetitive), and if your team picks her its an insta loose so let me tell you its also not funny to play with one, i dont think she's well designed in the abilities department. I tried to like her because well, she's ''''''unusual'''''', but the type of unusualness that turns boring after a few days and then you just realize that she's just another pretty girl with Patrick Star personality.

aside from that i think i have opinions that most of the community would highly dissagree on so, sorry.

Irelia's rework didnt stick good on me. And i wanted to like her very badly but there's things that i just dont like on her that make me go 'eh' and play or think about another toplaner. Aside from making all of her skins exactly the same (you know, exact hair lenght just put like buns or other minor additions to the hair, the exact same dress piece, etc). I appreciate the rework in the artistic department but... I think her old blade was way more interesting that what she has going on right now, i understand why her blades are like this now, resembling the floating stones and all the 'power of nature and flow' that Ionia has around... but, i just dont like it. Her new lines are an improvement though, i cant really remember any lines from the old Irelia so, it's interesting how she gets to talk about her family, war, etc. One thing that bugs me the most is the Ice blade Irelia splashart... You know exactly what im talking about. I just cannot wrap my head around it. Actually imagine going to the artist and telling them 'Hey we need this new splashart for this Irelia skin, but like enhance her ass the most cause fans really loved it' ...bruh.

I know its a unpopular opinion and that she is a fan favourite and anyone could stab my throat if i say it but... I cant stand Akali. Like, at all. And i desperately tried to like her, i tried to like her on K/DA but it never works out. I tried playing her trying to somewhat bond and understand her but it doesnt work out. Look, original Akali wasnt good. I admit it, she was a copy and paste of Jade from Mortal Kombat. But the rework... It hurted me. I just couldnt understand why did they make her so... bratty, so 'pick me' type of girl, this kind of 'im rebel blehhhh' kind of person... Wich isnt bad in essence but, they made her so utterly exaggerated that it annoys me. the earliest build i have from my very first game, 'Mr. Waffle Lover'

wat da freak ... im about to make Three posts in a row ?? impossible... so Hi. in case u havent seen my Last Big Post, one of my first projects was a game called 'Mr. Waffle Lover'. it started in early 2014 until late 2017 and it went through Tons of wildly different iterations. and also, if u read da last post youd know i lost nearly All of those builds of the game.

Despite losing like, 3 years of my own history, ive managed to find a few builds from multiple iterations of my game, with this one being the earliest iteration i have. this is the Third iteration of the game's development.. and there isnt a whole lot to say about it. it is a Very Basic, Very Primitive platformer made by an 11 year old. this build in particular has only Two levels . i Think more were made at some point, but it's hard to remember. at one point, i made a ""mobile version demo"" of the game for the tablet i had at the time (the game did not work on it), and thats the version u see in the video i posted. For Some Reason, i decided to strip any other level that may have existed in the game and just made it a demo even though i was the Only Person who could play the game.. so i dont have much from this iteration. i Do have an Earlier build that i put on github, but there isnt a whole lot of differences to this demo version.

Anyways, i think, for the rest of this post, imma go a little in depth about the Origins of this game and what it was actually Supposed to be .. click the Read Me thingy if u Dare !!!

So, it all started in 2013 . i was a Bored little creature who liked to draw things and was Deep into Minecraft for the Xbox 360. and one day i created a little comic with a character called 'Mr. Waffle Lover'.. And He Looked Like This:

That's Right , my very first OC is Just a skin from one of the minecraft xbox 360 edition skin packs. this was the skin i played as a lot back then, and 'Mr. Waffle Lover' was my self insert in the comic. why is he called 'Mr. Waffle Lover' you may ask? because i liked to eat waffles a lot. that became his main character trait. Eventually, when the game became A Thing, i would slowly change his design from just a copy of a minecraft skin, first giving him heterochromia and Gloves which spawned TNT, then later giving him a yellow shirt to match with his love for waffles, and then i just make him a Girl (but That is a story for Another Day . .. )

Anyways , on my birthday in 2014 i got a windows 8 laptop, and then in october i learned about construct 2 and decided i Needed to make a video game. ever since i was a fetus ive always wanted to make a video game,, with one of the earliest ideas for a game i remember having is when i was like 5 and wanted to make 'New Sonic the Hedgehog Wii' (a copy of New Super Mario Bros. Wii but featuring multiple colored Sonics).

ANYWAYS , one of the first video games i ever made was Mr. Waffle Lover......... Well Actually, Technically that is not true, as a few months before i tried using some Random in-browser game program that i dont remember the name of to make something called the 'Egg Game'... but it never went anywhere beyond me putting a stock Egg image into the program and then giving up.

my initial inspiration for making a game about the Mr. Waffle Lover character was when i played a game called 'Ms. Splosion Man' on the xbox 360. i thought the game play was interesting but i got stuck at one of the puzzles so i was like 'I Want to make this game but Better and with MY character !'. And So, i thought of the idea of Waffle Lover having Gloves that spawn TNT that he uses to jump high like in Ms. Splosion Man....... but i never got to actually implement it until the 'mid 2015' build that i posted earlier... and i removed it entirely afterwards and just made the game a Basic 2D Platformer for awhile.

so yea. this game was supposed to be just a simple 2d platformer featuring my sort of self insert OC based off a minecraft skin. there wasnt really much to it conceptually... just wanted to make a video game! that's all my ideas were at the time.. the only "Story" this game has is 'Waffle Lover gets his Waffles stolen by some Scientist People and he needs to Stop Them !!!!'. the game eventually got some sort of story over time... but for now all u need to know is that this game is A Game that I Wanted To Make. it doesnt get purer than that.

with the first iteration of my game being my first game Ever, i had No Idea how to do things. all of the small sprites were stretched out to fit the HD screen resolution, making everything blurry. the gameplay was Very Basic and the levels were simple. the HUD didnt even stay centered on the screen... instead it used the 'pin behavior' to be pinned on the player object (which did not work and the HUD would move around the object). And the worst aspect of it was that i did Not know how to make layouts in construct 2 use other event sheets or Objects from other layouts..... meaning every layout (meaning every level) uses Completely Different programming And objects .... Not Only That , but i only had the Trial version of construct 2 at that time.... so i could only use 100 'events'... meaning i could only put So Much code in the game before i reached the limit (and with every level using its own separate events for everything, i ran out of events Pretty Quickly and couldnt make any more levels.

I So Desperately Wish i could show that first iteration of the game with you. it was Very Weird and Bad but it was so Lovely. to say the least.. it was quite the learning experience ! I can Vividly remember me making the very first layout in the game,, with it just being the Waffle Lover sprite moving around a white background and a bunch of badly placed collision objects. it was a Sight to Behold . But Sadly... when i decided to completely redo the game, i deleted the whole project file for it, and its pretty much Lost forever now. the only remains are some random sprites from it i still have... other than that there Was a trailer i made for it once and i Think i released a demo for it once... but both of those are Long gone now.

anyways. for the second iteration of the game i decided to make it an ""HD"" version of the game, using higher resolution sprites and a 3d animated version of Waffle Lover.... However this 3d version is Actually just a minecraft skin of him made in Mine-imator, an Old 3D animating software Exclusively made for making minecraft animations. So , the game had a bunch of bad tilesets and a badly animated prerendered sprite of a minecraft skin for its player character. i dont remember much from that point of the game's development other than it did not last very long and it looked Funny. i dont even think it got past one level... as i struggled with making high resolution art (i only had ms paint and construct 2's built in image editor, so, yea). i Think everything from that era of the game's development is Gone, HOWEVER i THINK i might have the files for the Mine-imator animations Somewhere... maybe. i Think i saw the files on my old laptop for some mine-imator project but i was unable to open them and i dont know if i saved them anywhere so. Idk.

and now, this leads us to the Third iteration of the game... which is the one i showed in this post. as you can see in the video, i finally figured out how to make pixel art look not blurry. i also figured out how to make different layouts use the same event sheets. i even figured out how to make a HUD... incredible ! other than all of that, there's not much to say about it. it's just not as silly looking as the earlier iterations were... and its not really Fun to play. its not even all that janky.. its just basic. i worked on it for awhile, but then i gave up on it and moved onto the mid 2015 iteration.. and the rest of the game's history is a story for Another Time..

if there's anything i can say about this old game.. it's that you can Definitely see how much ive grown since then. whoever is reading this, i Really hope this is not your first introduction to my work.... cus my stuff nowadays is Insane compared to this... a lot has happened in the like, 8 years since ive started game development. and i have so much stories i want to share,,, i hope i can keep sharing those stories with you. oh and also, if you Really have never heard of my work before... um.... It's nitpicky, but it kind of bugs me when people flip it ^^;

I think people have been conditioned to shy away from borrowing ANY elements from other peoples art out of fear of 'copying', but I think that's too extreme a mindset. You SHOULD draw inspiration from other artists! Combining all your favorite elements from different sources and putting your own spin on them is how you develop your own style. Do you think I started drawing the way I do based on nothing? Of course not! Everything is based on/ inspired by something else! My style is obviously HEAVILY inspired by anime and manga, particularly the works of Junji ito. If I had to put a label on it, it would be 'Ito meets moe anime (with a healthy dose of Jamie Hewlett for flavor)'. If you want to try out my line or coloring styles etc, then I encourage you to do so (and would really love it if you tagged me so I can see!). As long as you're not outright tracing or copying something and claiming it as your own, and you make sure to credit people accordingly, then I say go nuts! (There are of course exceptions- always respect an artists wishes when it comes to their work and how they want/ dont want it to be used!)
