hello!! sorry it took me so long to reply but I have been heavily debating my answers. these were such good questions and it was so hard to decide!! but I feel like my answers are gonna bug you…

Hawthorne brother ranking: I CANT DO ITTT, I ACTUALLY PHYSICALLY CANTTT IM SOOOO SORRY

like genuinely love them all the same and I cannot choose, I had tried (hence why it took me so long to reply) but it was impossible 😔😔

I mean if you’re talking boyfriend wise: Grayson would be my first choice but I would not mind any of them, literally if they existed I’d be lucky to get a side glance

favourite character: you know what this is so difficult for me because it literally changes daily 😭😭 and it is so dependant on my mood but I’ll give you a top five

Gigi is my babyyyy, I love her to pieces!! she’s so bubbly and cute and sweet and I literally just want to hug her to death, but at the same time her character is so much deeper than that and she hides all of her pain. (and I’m a sucker for an emotionally traumatised character that’s trying to bottle everything up until they have to break).

okay this might get me hated on but I’m allowed to have my own opinion… I personally love love love Savannah… WAIT NO ONE KILL ME YET… I just think she’s such a girl boss, I love a strong independent woman who fights her own battles. also I love her pure confidence and how she also bottles her emotions in a more cutthroat way than Gigi, I love her coldness (I probably sound like a mentalist), idk I just love her and her intensity, it’s just so alluring!!

I know I said five but we’re counting the Hawthorne brothers as a whole here (one whole split into quarters so it’s like 0.25 each). Grayson, Jameson, Xander and Nash are all spectacular in all different ways and I could sit here and book on why but I won’t bore you…

I know I literally just named half the characters in the book but overall if I had to give one answer I would have to say that Avery is my favourite character, call me predictable or clichè but I worship that woman and she’s such an amazing character

Ok with the vault opening tomorrow here are my final predictions:

- Grayson is one of the pov characters, I think we all know this by now. He is the character most connected to this new book. He is the only one, besides Avery, named dropped in the synopsis and is apparently “amisdts” it all, plus the whole “if you've ever wondered what it's like falling in love with Grayson hawtorne” thing in the interview. So yeah I'd be surprised if gray WASNT one of the povs

-Phone girl is another pov, ik this is being debated right now and that we've all really been in our delulu era coming up with these headconons lol but I really think this is going to be her book. Mostly bc of ALL the calla lilys on the cover. she is the only character tied to those. Jlb said there was easter eggs on the cover and in tbh for tgg. Why else even include this mystery girl at all. Plus she would have her own reasons to play the game and she could give us the pov as a player

Now those are my willing to bet a Hawthorne sum of money on guesses

Now I have a few options for the third pov

1. Eve- she’s obv up to something evil and I feel like jlb really wants to give eve a redemption arc much to most of our disinterest

2. Slate - if eve is going to do some evil shit but jlb doesn’t want to give us her pov then she might give us slate pov and make him a player and have him be the tie to eve w/o making her a player

3. Another completely new character/ or a character introduced in tbh but as a player in tgg, idk just feel like it

I don’t think any of the characters from og tig will be pov characters here, Ik disappointing but idk it’s just my gut feeling

Now for two main side characters

1. Avery- I just can’t see her NOT in this book, it’s her game she’s going to be IN it

2. Jameson for the same reasons

An unpopular opinion: I wish the fandom weren't so weirdly resistant to analyzing characters' motivations in terms of the political ideology like. people will (rightfully) dunk on asshole conservation dudebro fans who try to claim that gundam is apolitical in order to disparage gwitch (and now gqx) for having girl protagonists then turn around and claim that gundam characters who repeatedly talk abt & act on their political beliefs don't actually believe in any political beliefs and are exclusively doing everything for personal/psychosexual reasons like. sorry but do you all not also have political ideologies as well as personal baggage? can those things not coexist? are you rendered fully incapable of caring abt geopolitics bc you've experienced grief or jealousy or desire? no? then why would that be the case for these characters? you don't have to agree with either a character's beliefs or their actions in order to engage with them but there are characters (including several uh. fairly major gundam characters) for whom it feels pretty disingenuous to pretend that they don't actually believe in their own beliefs and Imo you're missing out on something fairly significant if you try to analyze them while ignoring that

My canon OTP: most of the ships I like are in the dubiously canon grey area tbh like. does charmuro count as canon bc tomino said he wants the audience to think abt them having sex when they fight during cca? does yzak/dearka count as canon bc they keep getting paired up for merch where all the other pairs are the canon m/f relationships? does taniya/ennil el count as canon bc they go on a date and then live together along with their beards? does locktie count because of "you let that man too deep into your heart"? anyway. kudelia/atra/mika(/orga) and harry ord/kihel(/dianna) and sulemio. also. not otp material bc I like it in a "wow look at this mess it compels me you would both be so much better off dating other people" way but shout out to char/nanai, probably the indisputably canon relationship that I rotate in my mind the most, and honestly I've been getting really into char/lalah recently too like. Pairing I am not a fan of: do not care for char/haman and especially do not care for the way so many people insist they're canon like. that is not what the text of zeta or zz says. and as far as I can tell the only explicit source for her having feelings for him (which is. y'know. a spinoff manga written like 20 years later not by tomino so uh forgive me if I do not take that seriously as a source of truth for what happens in zeta gundam) specifies that those feelings were not reciprocated and that they never dated so like. it's not even canon in the not-canon spinoff that mentions it. why do we need to 1) make every woman's arc revolve around a man for whom she allegedly has romantic feelings even when she doesn't, is it not enough for her to feel resentful that he left axis for the a.e.u.g. and won't support her bid for power and 2) use every woman char has ever interacted with to make char look worse (since people tend to use char/haman as a gotcha/""another"" example in a made-up pattern of him being some sort of sexual predator which also. just straight up is not what's actually happening in the text) like. free my man he did not do that. he did plenty of other stuff tho, I don't care if you hate him but at least hate him accurately. also while I'm being annoyed abt people acting like ships are way more canon than they actually are. it's rough out here being a norea fan (and also an el5n fan tbh. love that freak) who doesn't think that norea/el5n was reciprocated. I respect people who are into it, I'm glad you're all having fun, but Imo I just can't see her as being that in to him, at least not during the timeline of the show, he confesses to her and she's like "damn I really miss my dead gf right now" and that does not read to me as her returning his feelings (like, in the future if they both survived? sure, could happen! no problem with that! but I don't think that we see her return his feelings during the events of the show so I get kinda tired of people saying that we do, and using that as an argument against her having feelings for sophie)

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): rip cagalli I wish you weren't constantly so disrespected. or at the very least not constantly forced back into gender conformity against your will. also rip to zeheart sorry that they dropped even the crumbs of characterization you were given in order to make you even more of a pale imitation of char :/ also every woman in age but we don't have time to get into that right now lol

Speaking of OCs actually on my regular blog I posted my OC named Jack and he’s a card and hes based on the saying “Jack of all trades is a master of none but often times better than a master of one” because I LOVE THAT QUOTE.

I have another OC named Spooky I made to practice sound design and he’s Connie’s little brother who’s the halloween main but Spooky is actually really hard to make sound design for😭 Jack is my favourite I wanna give him a smooch but Spooky is very cute:) doesn’t really look like dandys world unfortunately but I may make more ocs in the future. I also have an apple oc and her twisted is really gross (on purpose) but I won’t describe it cuz it could be triggering.

More about Jack tho bc I love him, he costs 1000 ichor, you have to get 50% research and you have to play as Gigi and encounter his twisted 3 times. He’s an all rounder but every floor he gains 2 stars in one of his stats and it resets in ele. Stam is hearts, Mov. Spd is spades, skl.chk is diamonds, ext.speed is clubs and stealth is special (the joker card). He’ll have a symbol underneath with the colour and the suit. He’d also have his own animation where he’d pick a card out of his pocket. His trinket (for distractors at least) is a better speedy shoes where it gives + 5% movement speed and lowers stealth by 5% (I made him also before I learnt about Flyte). His twisted is uncommon but I think he better suits rare now that I think about it.

His twisted likes to be alone and if someone stays close to him for too long he goes kinds through a glisten frenzy where he has speed similar to toodles but he also has a long ranged attack where he throws cards. “Corrupted partly by ichor, this toon just wants to be left alone. If a toon is around this twisted for far too long the ichor will take full control and he will go on a frenzy of death. Jack is quite fast with a long ranged attack of throwing multiple cards he once used for luck, but now has betrayed him and turned him into this.” Not my best writing but I’ll live…

I want to turn my main ocs into dandys world characters but some of them I see a lot of fan things for. Like computers, tophats, stars, I don’t wanna steal someone’s idea.

Spooky time!! I don’t think I’ve posted him yet though. I’ll do his stats first:

His first ability is an active (90 cooldown) where he can teleport to a machine or an elevator but the downside is he can’t choose where he goes so imagine taking the gamble of panic time and you teleport to the fake elevator instead lol.

His second ability is passive where with every food item he picks up he gains 5% more movement speed for 30 seconds. Didn’t mean for any of these abilities to be similar to Glisten and Bone😔.

His trinket grants a new item every floor common and up (including dandy’s shop).

Twisted Spooky is hostile in blackouts with above average speed, high attention span and with a less than average detection. During blackouts he gives the status condition ‘paranoid 2’ which makes a fake version of each twisted that’s on the floor. Paranoid 2 makes them look like the reg twisteds but with a duller pallet and the eyes. These fake twisteds do not harm the person and are only meant to trick them into wasting span. They still have a hitting animation but it does literally nothing and they disappear for the rest of the floor. Spooky kind of just wanders in the day because “it’s not scary”. He’s just a kid and doesn’t really know what he’s doing, he sees the toons and rushes over to them for safety and security but to him the regular toons look different closer up in blackouts, he gets scared and in fear, hurts them.

His intro card says: “Spooky the Sheet Ghost. Excited to spend Halloween with his big sister, Spooky will visit every scary season to join in on some Holiday fun!”

I’m caving and talking a bit about Blossom (the apple) but I won’t talk much about her twisteds for the reasons stated before. 2 hearts, 5 skill check, 1 movement, 5 stamina, 4 stealth, 1 extraction. Her trinket is a ruler and it stuns a twisted (Baldi’s basics reference…) and gives the user 10% movement speed for 10 seconds.

OKAY I KNOW I’VE YAPPED A LOT BUT I HAVE ONE MORE (Can you tell I have nothing to do at Easter) I was going to make a pet for each toon but I started and stopped at Astro. Their names are Nightby and Mellow. They have 2 star skill check, 4 star movement, 2 star stamina, 2 star stealth and 4 star extraction. Mellow is actually the only one twisted but Nightby is not but is forced to keep their eyes shut in fear which makes Mellow take control. Theyre a nightlight btw, Mellow is the light and Nightby is the power source. Their twisted doesn’t glow because it’s broken. Their trinket makes a non light producing toon produce light and makes a light producing toon light up basically the whole map at the cost of 20% stealth.

we don't live together - YET!! but we will go out together whenever we visit each other and we have WAY too much fun in the grocery store. we're picking up snacks that our coach/instructor would DESPISE if they found out about it and getting way too much of them. we're also big fans of adlibbing people's conversations that we see in the store and making ourselves look like fools

I just realized I have been around for almost a year and never made one of these so if you're interested, keep reading!

Name: Gigi

Age: 24

What made you fall in love with Gallavich? I found it so refreshing to see a queer relationship defy the odds and find a happy ending. I was so used to the 'bury your gays' era of media that seeing Mickey and Ian get married and live happily ever after despite all the challenges presented to them felt the kind of emotional triumph that makes a story really great.

How long have you been a fan? About a year, give or take? I know I started writing my first fic around christmas last year

Favourite Gallavich moment/scene? Probably some of their first scenes together, in seasons 1-3 where they get to be young and have fun together. when mickey goes to see ian after he gets out of the hospital ("sorry im late"), and the conversation they have in their old bedroom when mickey opens up and explains why he isnt as comfortable in the west side apartment, that scene showed so much growth for both of them to be able to sit together and communicate and compromise that scene alone really saved season 11 for me

Favourite Shameless character apart from Ian and Mickey?

i have a lot of characters who i respect or who i am sympathetic with at various points throughout the show, but Veronica is the character i love through every single episode. also special shout out to Mandy bc i have a crush on her, and Liam because im in awe of how the kid who played him joined the cast late bc of the nature of the character and still did so well with a central role

i draw and write fic! i love to write and create drawings to go along with my stories, all my work can be found on my Ao3 account or my tumblr!

oh gosh i love post canon fics, i love stories that diverge from canon to ask "what if x had happened" because shameless is such a complex show that if one event did change it would be such a different story. i like supernatural fics a lot, but my favorite fic by far for whatever reason is Boy in the Box by Mellow_Yellow on Ao3, its such a unique and bizarre story, the pace and tone is so incredibly distinct that it really falls into the category of fics that really could be published as novels

There’s this massive ache like someone punched her in the chest. She doesn’t have the words or energy to react - she just takes a long, deep breath and leaves to sit in her office for a while.

She’ll recover - this is not the first person she’s lost, it isn’t going to be the last, but it’s gonna take a while. This job never gets easier.

She takes care of his affairs - his family isn’t involved in his life, and she doesn’t want them fucking with his estate. She manages finances, gets his will sorted, etc. All the Big, Frustrating Stuff that you shouldn’t have to be thinking of when someone you love is dead

She doesn’t want (or,, trust) anyone to take care of those sorts of things when they’re grieving.

Glenn probably handles it the best

He was an army man, active service for years. He knows how to deal with death, with grief, how to comfort others and what ppl need when they’re grieving.

Brings food to the war room bc,, he knows they’re gonna be forgetting to take care of themselves. 

Sits with Gigi and just,, holds her hand. They don’t really speak? Theres kind of a quiet understanding between them.

He’s genuinely the biggest help to everyone. Nobody really has the words to thank him properly but,, they appreciate it.

Myc is used to humans dying? mostly,,

This is why he doesn’t get attached - and fuck did he get attached to that stupid, brainless hunk. He regrets it now, obviously, but there’s no going back now.

It’s probably the only time they’ll see him quiet? he just,, doesn’t engage. No jokes, no ribbing, for at least a month or two. He probably tries to cut himself off from the gang at least a few times

He just,, doesn’t wanna have to deal with that again. He really doesn’t want to have to attend 4 more funerals.

This is a feeling he hasn’t had to deal with in a very long time, so it sucks absolute ass. He gets through it, but it’s gonna leave a lingering worrying about,, when the Next One Is Gonna Be.

Andre absolutely cracks a joke when he finds out. It’s badly timed and completely tactless, and the team doesn’t get upset bc,,, they get it. He’s just trying to cope.

Something about,, being reminded of how fragile he is?? is Way Too Much??  

He goes on a week-long (maybe a few weeks?) bender, drinking and partying. The thought of dealing with that sober is,, something he does not want to deal with.

He phases in between remembering Brett is dead and not even knowing his own name. He can’t grieve the loss of a friend he can barely remember existing!

He’s piss-drunk at the funeral, Gigi and Myc make sure he doesn’t make too much of a scene. Myc has a few tentacles around him, maybe just trying to mellow him out and make the event pass Quickly for him.

It definitely hits him hard - the team knows not to mention Brett anymore around him.

Brett would genuinely do everything in his power to keep a happy face if one of The Gang died. 

He feels the pressure to pretend everything is fine, and be the Beacon of Hope he always is bc,, if HE can't even be positive, how's everybody else going to?

Eventually he's going to break, because nobody can deal with grief by just tamping it down, but he's sure as hell gonna try smd. 

Someone’s gonna ask how he’s dealing with everything so well and,, he’s just gonna burst into tears.

for a tall and hunk of a guy, mattsun is a very light walker like his footsteps are very light and if he wants to, it can be practically silent

watari actually hates vegetables ajssksksk he particularly hates zucchini, eggplants, any vegetables that are that shape

kindaichi likes to stick or lean against walls because to him, they feel cold and can decrease his body heat

watari has really small feet that he still buys big kids shoes to save money

kyotani considered playing baseball because he thought baseball bats were cool but he got angry and threw tantrum after missing his first pitch

oikawa actually hates sweets bc when he was younger, he had cavities and iwa showed him a cartoon of cavities eating his teeth and will make him toothless

kindaichi really really likes hugs but hes too awkward to ask them even from his parents

yahaba chomps on mints so he goes through boxes of them in a week

i feel like theres a boy in the team who doesnt brush their teeth everyday and rubs a towel on their teeth to make it look clean and take mints to hide their bad breath

iwaizumi is actually iron deficient so he bruises super super fast and he even developed iron defiency anemia when he was younger bc his parents didnt catch on which caused him to be put on strong medication for months and still takes it now

Some tips on eating as a poor person that aren't "live on dry beans and rice that take time and effort to make"

Food Banks Exist For YOU!! I don't need one anymore but am so thankful for them. You may hesitate to go to them bc you don't think you need it as badly as others... but from someone who spent years with their dad going to several, the food is there and they want to help. It isn't embarrassing; the people who volunteer are doing it for a reason, and ime treat you as a shopper, not a charity case. There are sites to find food banks. If you go to one, they usually have pamphlets for all the ones in the area. We never had to prove income or anything like that. They want to help, I promise.

If there's a local farmer's market, check to see if they have a subsidy program for people on food stamps. Another thing my dad and I used. At two separate markets 5 hrs apart, both had a program where you could DOUBLE your food stamp money in farmer's market coupons. Healthy, fresh, local, ethically raised food for less than the grocery store

If you go to a store more than once in a blue moon get the discount/membership/whatever card. It's usually super easy and almost always saves you a LOT of money

When in a supermarket, look at price per ounce if comparing items. Do not look at total price vs visual package size. Companies are experts at packing less and less food into larger packages. Grocery stores with a price per oz on the tags are so so helpful, but if they don't, sometimes it honestly makes a difference to use your phone calculator

CHECK IF YOU HAVE AN ALDI IN YOUR AREA. They sell actual seriously good, usually healthy food way cheaper than crappy stuff at other stores. This is for a lot of reasons I won't get into. But, it's also just a more ethical system for their workers, who make well above minimum wage. Aldi is Life. Tip: if you don't have reusable bags, keep an eye out for empty boxes as you shop. They don't bag anything for you.

BIG LOTS or other similar clearance/discount stores. They get an ever-changing stock of things at deep discounts. Lots of nice luxury and/or healthy groceries at half price as well as your normal staples. Also my go-to for home items and pet supplies

Shop Sales. This one is obvious to some but others just aren't in the habit. I almost exclusively buy things on sales where I save at least 1/3, usually 1/2. You can have a fully stocked pantry and freezer and spend half as much as if you only buy things when you want to eat that particular thing. It does mean less fresh food, but y'know. Just develop a laser eye for a sale tag and know where the clearance section is. Second nature to people who grew up poor but I was amazed shopping with college friends who bought full price name brand food and had trouble paying rent

I haven't done this but my brother swears by it. He went in with a few friends on a communal Costco membership. Could also do this with Sam's Club. They shop together, and then split bulk items if there's a great deal on something one person couldn't eat on their own. Bulk is the way to go if you can find a way to have the up-front cash. Impossible for many which is why the communal thing is so genius!

If this helps even one person it was worth writing out! I've realized last year, I learned a Lot growing up under the poverty line. It doesn't just appear in your brain when you're 22 and can't pay your bills for the first time.

Please feel free to add other tips if you have them. Just don't shame people for eating what they choose to eat like those "vegan dollar cookbooks" or whatever.
