Inside Job Preference #1
< What They're Like As A Partner >
Reagan
distant
it's not you, that's just the way she is
the most affection you'll get from her is her legs in your lap or her leaning on your arm if she's really tired
usually puts work before the relationship but does try to involve herself in things that you find important
doesn't like hanging out with you at her house bc of her dad
will want to go to your house a lot if you live alone
dislikes talking about the relationship with her coworkers
gets aggravated when they bring it up anyways but it's kinda funny to you
idk i feel like dating reagan is like being her best friend except you get to know more about her personal life
Brett
clingy
you know he needs constant validation soooo
he's a pretty basic partner lol
very supportive of your interests and quirks
likes doing stuff for you like cooking and taking you shopping
his love language is definitely acts of service
surprisingly he gets jealous easily because he's worried you'll meet someone and end up liking them better
anyways, expect lots of exercise in the relationship
he finds it romantic, don't ask why
if you work at cognito inc he finds every opportunity to work with you
he'll come to you whenever he gets injured and kindly ask for help even if you have no medical experience
if you don't work at cognito inc he feels bad that he can't tell you about his job and why he has to work unpredictable, typically long hours that cause him to miss more dates than he can count
he'll probably find a way to make it up to you though
or he'll just try his best to get you a job at cognito inc as well
Gigi
i don't have many head canons for dating her
she likes showing you off
so that means you'll most likely be one of those couples that takes a ton of selfies together
i think she'd be a little demanding at times but not to the point that it aggravates you
her love language is gift giving. you get a gift almost every week, sometimes multiple days throughout
she doesn't make a big deal of asking you for things though
is probably more distant than reagan at times because she loves partying
but if you call her for ANYTHING she'll be there in a heartbeat
Myc
first of all, yes that's how his name is spelled, i hope this doesn't become a big thing in the fandom where people misspell it as 'mike' for some reason
anyways, i may be biased but i feel like he'd be the best partner out of these four
gives great advise, you know, when he cares about your problems
likes making you laugh and has spent a lot of time deciphering your sense of humor
is very touchy feely but i feel like that's expected considering what type of alien myc is
isn't as flirty in public as you think he would be
after it's made clear that you two are a couple, he saves the couple stuff for alone time
kinda lazy? like most of time the dates are just y'all sitting on the couch and watching seinfield
i've never watched seinfield but i feel like myc would like either that or rick and morty
after a certain point in the relationship, myc wants you to be his designated 'milker'
i mean it's a two-person job but he wants you to be one of those people, always

Alfyn, the Apothecary: Chapter 1
WARNING! Spoilers ahead for Chapter 1 of Alfyn’s story in Octopath Traveler!
Alright, time to dive on into the world of medieval medicine! And what better guide than a simple country boy who wants to do right by his village?
Alfyn is just, wow. This is a sweet boy, I love him!
From all the fanart I assumed he was a regular fratboy himbo, which I’m not opposed to, but I was surprised. Alfyn’s a pretty deep thinker who really tries to find a way that’ll work out the best; when things go down, he keeps a pretty cool head.
He’s just a good guy, and I like that the character who could easily get put into the “country bumpkin” role is the one who actually uses his head a lot. He’s humble, hardworking and just chill. All in all, a real feel-good character. For now (again, only played his first chapter).
I wasn’t sure how an apothecary would play, but the Concoct thing is pretty cool. It’s kind of like playing an alchemist, though I wish I had a recipe book. Eh, I might find one later, I’ll just settle for getting more ingredients to make free stuff. I do not have leaves to burn! Metaphorically speaking.
Inquire isn’t much different from Scrutinize, but I do like that it won’t mess up as badly; it’s nice not to worry about your reputation getting messed up. And I guess it’s a bit less uncomfortable to the person you’re using it on.
The axe really does suit him, it’s something I would expect someone who lives near the woodlands would keep on hand. And now I have someone to give H’aanit’s hand-me-downs to!
I also find Alfyn’s story really relatable, like Tressa’s; you’re stuck between staying where you’re comfortable and going off in search of something better. Alfyn’s is a bit more difficult, though; if he leaves, the town is left with one apothecary in case of illness. But if he goes, he can learn new things to help the town. It’s a really difficult decision that a lot of people will understand and will question if they made the right choice later about.
And oh boy, Dead Mom Syndrome. With a side-effect of Missing Dad Syndrome. Wonder if this’ll be important later. Is the story implying that the guy who saved his life was his dad, or is he gonna be the final boss, I don’t know.
Clearbrook is a simple country town full of nature and I like it! It’s so homey, you can just feel how warm and loving everyone is. It’s not much, but it’s just right. And the river running through is just the peak of simple beauty. Even the graveyard has a pleasant feel to it, it doesn’t give off any spooky vibes, just the simple elegance that comes with accepting death.
Zeph is really cool, though. We love supportive best friends here! And he understands Alfyn enough to know how to convince him to go. And he’s a great big brother! That really shows when he talks to Alfyn: Alfyn may be the one who can keep calm in a crisis, but Zeph is the one who can understand how someone feels and help them find a solution. It’s a really sweet friendship. And meaningful item exchange, awwww!
And here I’m going to be honest: as you’ve noticed, quite a few of these boss fights are not very well-detailed. I really don’t focus on game mechanics, so I can’t write about them that well.
But there’s another reason.
You see, by the time I had gotten to Alfyn’s Chapter 1, I already did three Chapter 2s (Therion, Tressa and Cyrus) and on Cyrus’ I kind of over-grinded. So, by the time I was at Clearbrook...
I was frickin’ OP.
Enemies were crushed beneath my heels. I was so powerful, Chapter 1 boss fights were over in minutes, so that’s why I can’t write much about what went down in Alfyn, Primrose and Olberic’s Chapter 1s. I will do my best though!
The “saving the little girl from poison” story is a little cliche, but it works here, since it’s a small village and there’s probably not that many threats nearby.
The Blotted Viper I actually expected to have more poison attacks, but it’s a first boss so I won’t fault it for that. It will instead be faulted for having lackeys. The Constrict attack actually gave me some trouble though, because I didn’t bring much to fight off unconciousness with. Poison was also annoying.
But I beat it! And by the laws of the country, I am now a man! Attacking animals (but it was done for an actually good cause and we didn’t kill it)!
And I saved a little girl from poison! By the laws of the country, I am now a doctor! Screw licenses!
But watching Alfyn and Zeph talk about what Alfyn wants was really sweet. I’ve seen scenarios where the friend character would see this as “abandonment” but Zeph understands and helps motivate Alfyn to go.
And when Alfyn says goodbye to his mother’s grave...you’re a little hurt but you feel lighter at the same time.
Well. I guess we better start lookin’ for herbs! We got people to help and plagues to stop!

day6 bias sorter!!! ✶✶✶
Tumblr media
day6! i periodically forget how much i love them 😭😭😭
if i had my pick of kpop boys to marry sungjin is #1 hands down, no contest. i saw day6 live...i guess four years ago now, wow. it was at kcon so their instruments had to be set up awkwardly so as to not interfere with the other artists' performances and so they were super super far back and kinda hard to see but like. i would have attempted to wife that man on the spot and that's that on that.
dowoon...look at this video. just watch it and you'll understand...cutest boy in the entire world i must protecc
wonpil!!! the only think stopping him from being the cutest boy on the entire world is the fact that he's very pretty and looks cold until he opens his mouth. there's a whole sketch on weekly idol where he just gives super earnest life advice and giggles. i literally love him sm 😭😭😭
day6 can't dance for shit but wonpil would still absolutely body pd101 and im almost sad that he was never on it
youngk brian used to be my bias and i still love him i just fell for cute line rip
he writes and composes most of day6's music he's just so freakin talented it's insane. like the fact that akmu chose to go to yg instead of jyp so we might never see what chanhyuk and brian come up with together and that's a Lossℱ for the community
jae...just follow him on twitter lmao. we stan a talented messy bitch in this household.
junhyeok left the group right after debut and then jae qrted a post that was about someone's snake and jae was like "pls send him home, we need someone to play the keys" (everyone seems to forget that junhyeok was the keyboardist before wonpil switched from synth) and that shade...thats when i decided to stan forever
also follow sungjin on twt the only thing he ever posts is like...
Tumblr media
fratboy + commie + softboi + himbo + artist + food blogger = sungjin
stan day6.
this post is already so long but im supposed to be ranking songs lmao
okay.
i only liked the title track on the book of us: gravity at last listen, and i didn't really like their last title track, sweet chaos, at last listen. but i'll be re-listening to the albums and figure this out later lmao.
(remember us: youth part two is everything though, highly recommend)
