That whole scene where MK activates the crown to prevent Wukong from sacrificing himself is always hard to watch, especially once Wukong is rendered helpless as MK walks into the pillar, but I came to a realization that made it even WORSE when i was rewatching ep 9.

So each time the crown was activated before, it would only glow for a few moments and stop, still taking Wukong out of the game for a bit due to those short moments it was on.

But when MK did it during the fight, it was glowing the whole time when he stopped Wukong and walked into the pillar, which is also why Wukong was screaming out as much as he was.

My man was in literal pain, emotionally and physically, begging him to stop all the while...

Curls you want to card your fingers through and never stop again. A smile so brillant it could replace the sun.

I'm sure there's an army of people just swooning over Charles back in England.

And Edwin? Edwin would have hated that ever since it happened the first time, but now he knows why it hurts that much when someone calls Charles babe or luv or darling and I am pretty sure that that would make it so much worse.

Insane. Does it work well? No. But who cares when it looks like that? She hasn't toasted a piece of bread in years but she will sit prominently on your counter nonetheless.

Louis:

Fun to look at but confusing to operate. Needs 3 different adapters to function. If you can figure it out it makes perfect toast every time. This toaster heats up immediately and takes hours to cool down.

Armand:

Petite and adorable but looks can be deceiving. Keeps toast in a cage while it cooks. Passed down from your great aunt. This toaster is a fire hazard and should be handled with caution.

Claudia:

Equal parts cute and effective. Tries to look complicated but really just wants to toast bread, and a lot of it. Can cook at two different temperatures simultaneously. The devil works hard, but this toaster works harder.

Daniel:

Still looks and works great despite being an antique. Only has two settings: burnt and more burnt. A strong exterior that can take a beating. This toaster is fine being a single slice machine, two slices are overrated.

Santiago:

A bastard creation with a cursed aura. Makes everyone uncomfortable and yet nobody can look away. Only looks like this to upstage the microwave. This toaster lives to make you uneasy.

can we appreciate for a second how varric treats all three dragon age protagonists?

hawke was his best friend. varric was the constant supportive rock throughout their many years in kirkwall together. they shared grief over lost family, overcame bullshit dealt to them over their shared mistakes, and reveled in the few good things thrown their way. and in the end varric repaid that in full by protecting hawke from the inquisition. he didn’t want them to get hurt again after both of them lost everything.

the inquisitor was varric’s guiding light. he had been through some of the worst shit anyone had ever seen, blaming himself for everything that happened that led up to this point. but the inquisitor took him by the hand and showed him that it’s never too late and that not everything was his fault. shit happens. you can either lie down and give up or do something. the inquisition gave varric a new purpose. so he stuck around for the inquisitor (as his friend) and for the cause.

rook was his pupil. he saw their potential when everyone else saw their ignorance. it was varric’s turn to be the guiding light and shoulder to lean on. he took both of his relationships with hawke and the inquisitor and became the man his two friends were to him. even when varric wasn’t even there. rook was listening to him. becoming the next one to step up when nobody else would.

Im not good at words-ing but

Koharu Sakurada and Aki Tamaki

Sakurada means "Cherry Blossom field"

Aki roughly translates to "Autumn"

Cherry Blossoms are not only associated with love, but their short lived blooms also signify the fleeting nature of life.

Autumn is the time of the year where trees shed their leaves, and is associated with grief in some cultures. But at the same time, it signifies new beginnings.

Koharu died young. Too young. Unlike Aki who had loved her since she was only nine years old, Koharu never had a chance to experience falling in love. And i think Aki feels guilty for that. For not confessing sooner, for not confessing later, for confessing at that place, at that time. Maybe then, she would still be alive, she would still have had a chance at experiencing love. And maybe she feels guilty for surviving the accident, for not being the one who died instead, for not being able to save her.

But she has to move on.

And moving on doesn't mean she didn't love Koharu any less, it didn't mean she didn't love her anymore. In fact, its the opposite.

Even years after her death, Aki still loved her.

She loved her for six years, and continued loving her for five more.

Aki loved her, and though that love and grief may not fade away anytime soon, she has to move on. For herself, and for Koharu.

Those cherry blossoms will bloom again one day, and though those flowers aren't the same as the ones from before, they are just as wonderful.

Tired: Rise!Splinter is a neglectful and awful father who doesn’t care about his kids >:(

Wired: Rise!Splinter’s negligence comes from a place of deep trauma that he’s carried with him his whole life – losing his mother, having been betrayed by the love of is life, being imprisoned and forced to fight for his life, used as an experiment and subsequently being mutated and losing his whole identity as a person – and while it certainly doesn’t excuse his behavior, there is no doubt that this man loves his sons fiercely despite his own shortcomings and perhaps it is exactly that love and care that causes him to keep his children at arms length in hopes to spare them his family’s cursed legacy that grooms them into martyrs and are thus destined to die young, a sacrifice for the greater good that Splinter is never willing to make even if it means forfeiting the world to the Shredder. Splinter’s journey of fatherhood began by being completely unprepared as a fresh young single father of four young children that depend on him to survive and there is no surprise he’s hit almost every bump there possibly is when raising a child but never in his life has Splinter ever blamed or resented his children in any way – he is not perfect and he’s aware and he tries to do better all because he loves his kids this fucking much bc despite all the shit he’s been through, those kids made him realize that he can try again. to dismiss him as an awful father is a gross mischaracterization of a deeply traumatized man of color who evidently tried his fucking hardest not to pass on the hurt onto his own children while grappling with his own demons and the crushing destiny of his family’s blood line that took away his mother.

I posted this on reddit and already have two people convinced to try the Neve romance - so lets see if I can boost those numbers. The cult of Neve worship must grow.

I will preface this with: I'm a lesbian who is really into the 'appears cold on the outside, but is soft on the inside' archetype (Aveline, Cassandra, Miranda and Cora in Mass Effect) and finally I get to romance that with Neve. So I went a little feral. Neve is a woman who at her core is a kind person who wants to save everyone, but reality has shown her she can't and she's beaten down by that. She's cynical, thinks about the future rather than living in the moment. She flirts with absolutely everyone easily, but when it's more serious with Rook, she freaks the hell out. She struggles to say she loves you because she's terrified of losing you. And her flirts at the start are actual flirts (and she flirts back) as opposed to a lot of the flirt dialogue imo. As for Grey Wardens (as long as you save Minrathous - otherwise you miss out on some cutscenes and flirts), she talks about the stories her uncle told her, and a Grey Warden Rook can flirt about being a hero. She also gets the second most romance content imo (after Emmrich) from what I've seen - with characters (including Rana the Templar) bantering about it, combat romance dialogue, and she gives you a cute nickname that she'll refer to you as in combat and banters. She also (not romance related) worries about Solas' blood magic on you once that's discovered and it merges well with the romance. In my biased opinion, she works perfectly with an optimistic heroic Grey Warden Rook - you break down her defences, and help her live for today. And it's so romantic imo.
