why is it that I find a physical copy of one CD by an incredibly popular band that I want to own and it turns out the disc was stolen but my sister can go to a different thrift store and come home with like 6 CDs including one by a decently obscure artist that we both happen to be into

#like. homegirl has some kind of magic touch #she found an andrew peterson CD and I was like... that's so random and niche???? hello??????#she also got like 3 different celine dion CDs and a couple others I can't remember #but like. I find cork tree and don't even get to have it bc SOMEBODY YOINKED THE DISC!!!#like ik Goodwill is a nationwide thing but like... most private/local thrift or charity shops around here keep the discs behind the counter #and when you check out they find the corresponding disc and give it to you bc that way cuts way back on theft #so why is the big national charity not doing that?#sorry I'm just still deeply miffed about this akkfndwkfn I wanted that CD so bad #Lu rambles

apartment update: still no pictures cos everythings still Ass but that old desk of my sister in laws thats very nice and all but kind of in the way is gonna go to my old room in my parents house. and in its place im gonna get my old bookshelf from my old room. in my parents house

#its this like almost 20-year-old lundia that i think could do with an extra shelf piece #cos when it was first assebled i had this bigass cd/cassette player with big separate speakers #and theres this huge space to accommodate it all. i havent had that system in Years and now theres tons of empty air in there #where a Lot more books could fit #sure my record collections there but again i dont have a player. but i do have books. and they COULD fit that goddamn lundia #IF i only had EVEN THAT ONE extra shelf piece.#i do need to make an inventory of what books from that old shelf simply need to Go.#like for example i do Not need those hardcover finnish harry potter books #and i need to make a decision about the finnish hardcovers of dark towers 3 and 4 #on the one hand story good on the other hand the translation makes me want to either kill myself or just. make a better translation #like the translations bad in ways that cant all be explained by sking being Like That #much like that shining translation i consulted for the finnish version of that gbu x shining fic. god that sucked ASS #i dont know if it was the same translator. but man. its like hey man do you like. Hello! I just saw you post some Maitre Gims, and I know you like Stromae, so I was wondering what are french/french speaking singers that you like the most? You may have answered smtg like that already but i couldn't find it and I am, as always, very curious ^^ -☆

mc solaar!!!!!! and stromae for sure. and i had a whole renan luce phase in college. otherwise i mostly just listen to individual songs and don't tend to know a ton by the same artist, but i've liked some individual songs by christine and the queens, lous and the yakuza, tryo, kana, bénabar, vianney. some other artists but that's a sample. currently only know two french-language songs by mika but i like them. always looking for recs if you have any!

#i do not have an established discovery pipeline for french music it's just been like #1) friend gives me a mix cd in high school that includes mc solaar and some other artists (thank u jesse <3)#2) professor gives me a mix cd in college that includes renan luce and some other artists #3) i listen to these on repeat for approx. 20 years and get a couple of mc solaar's and renan luce's albums #4) a kind follower on here sent me a spotify playlist last year #that's it that's the pipeline lol #oh i forgot 3.5) discover papaoutai by stromae in idk 2015 or something. but i have no recollection of how i found that song #my experience is neither broad nor deep in this arena #french #music #asks #not anon #i've finally moved on from listening to the same three stromae songs because i've mostly learned the words #so now i'm trying to learn the words to some other songs including the maître gims song i rbed earlier #my problem is that i don't really know what a song is about until i look up the lyrics #sometimes i can get the gist but usually not. so i get a song stuck in my head and then look up the words so i can sing along #and that's when i learn what it's about. and too bad if the subject is not one i want to have stuck in my head lol #got an mc solaar / vianney collab stuck in my head yesterday. super catchy. i look up the words. it's about suicide????#which i am maybe not in the right headspace to be singing about right now. but here we are. whoops!

For me, inspiration doesn't mean "to write".

There are, and always have been, a lot of stories floating around in my mind - ideas, scenes, vibes, outlines. I get inspiration from literally everywhere, from talking to my friends, and video games, and scrolling past images or prompts, and reading books, and spending too much time on reddit, and…

Many remain daydreams, or character backstories, eventually lost to time.

Now for actually being able to sit my ass down and get words on the page? I don't know. It comes and goes as it pleases. Having a beehive where a brain should be does NOT help, let me tell you that.

I just. Can't focus on shit lately. Can barely make it through a chapter when reading. Every day is just suddenly over, and I got nothing done, and I am so tired. I have a completely outlined short thing I have been trying to write since Nov, and it's like pulling teeth.

I could do with several months off work while everyone leaves me the fuck alone. How would that be.

Finally listened to the anthology songs and they’re so fucking good omg. I don’t know if I can rank them, I just love all of them

#top 3 atm are probably cassandra; the albatross & the bolter #but chloe or sam or sophia or marcus; thank you aimee & the prophecy are also so so good #i mean all of them are. there literally ISN’T a bad song on the second half of the album #on some of them i like the production better than the lyrics or vice versa but still #taylor really said ‘oh you want woodvale? here it is’#i’m joking but honestly.. anthology is exactly what i thought ttpd was going to be #tbh it really is a double album. it’s two separate albums #everything from fortnight to clara bow is very midnights-esque #everything from the black dog to the manuscript is giving folklore/evermore but with a more pop sound #she could fully have released them as two separate items titled the tortured poets department and anthology #and i would not have batted an eye. i don’t think anyone would have #anyway i want the anthology on cd #personal #taylor swift

why does everything i get really into always end up being so god damn niche. by the year 2035 i am going to be blogging exclusively about the interpersonal relationships between the pillbugs and snails hiding underneath the bricks lining the flowerbeds in my parent's garden.

its honestly crazy to me that theres so many sonic games that are inaccessible on current gen consoles or maybe are available on one but arent available on the others and instead of remastering or re releasing any of those sega just keeps re releasing the classic trilogy and sonic cd over and over and over again and they sometimes even do it on platforms where those games are already available. like why cant we get a port of sonic heroes or the storybook games or the advance trilogy or something

#like i get that theyre desperately trying to appeal to 35 year olds who think sonic 3 & knuckles is peak gaming #and hate every sonic game to come out after it except for sonic mania. but come on thats not your entire audience #there are literally 3 different ways that you could play sonic 2 on the nintendo switch rn. please re release something else already #well at least with sonic origins plus they threw in a bunch of the older games that werent as easily available #but they still arent touching most of the modern sonic games for some reason ??#i know that there are some 3d games that arent available on current gen consoles that Are still available on steam #and occasionally go on sale for super cheap which is nice #but a lot of people are console only or dont have a powerful enough computer to run some of those games #also werent sonic 1 2 3 and cd all on steam for a long time but then got taken down last year to force people to buy sonic origins.#man i just wanna play sonic 06. its the only mainline sonic game thats completely inaccessible to me and i wanna play it so bad

fighting for my life trying to get my hands on Revue Starlight Gekijōban instrumentals

#they were only ever released as a bonus cd when you bought the movie songs as a set from a specific company #and as such. it is so so difficult to find them online #I was able to somehow manage to find a zip file with all of them! great!#except it’s from a website in a language I do not speak. and whenever I try to download the zip file. it also attempts to download #an exe file #which isn’t ideal #so I went down the rabbit hole of figuring out how to download from that website without the. exe thing #and then that lead to MORE problems #and I just wish. someone with the CD would just. upload them onto MEGA or Google Drive or something.#for me <3 #all I want is high quality rips of the instrumentals PLEASE #I know there are YouTube vids of them. but the quality is so bad #kris speaks #anyways if any revstar fans reading this already have the files DM me
