Ohoho Tigerheart? My guy? My bestest guy?
He’s really not an interesting romantic lead. I will fully admit to that. But personally that’s my favorite interpretation of him. He’s BORING. He’s just a boring guy who’s really in love with Dovewing.
Because she deserves that!!
That’s really the appeal for me, is what he provides for Dovewing.
And yes he has some asshole moments, but (and a lot of people miss this) he doesn’t get away with them. When he is shitty to her, she fucking LEAVES. And she doesn’t come back until she’s good and ready.
Everyone hates on tigerheart’s shadow and on some level I do kind of get it but to me it’s another book of him just. Trying to be a good husband and also be a good member of his clan. No, he doesn’t initially go with dovewing, but he regrets that choice so hard he bolts after her desperately. He doesn’t really want to raise his kits outside the Clans, but he’s not overly pushy about it.
(I’ve seen some criticism that basically punishes Tigerheart for having an opinion on the raising of his children and like guys chill. I am a huge supporter of single mothers but that’s not the situation, he’s been there for them since before they were born, he does get to have an opinion on how they’re raised.)
If I may, make moonshine out of moonlight is my little Tigerheart character study. well. More of a tigerdove study but it’s from his POV. And that’s why I love him. Because of who he is to dovewing.
Okay okay, GENUINELY can someone tell me the appeal of Tigerheart? I am curious because I’ve never liked him, but I see people like him and i Want to. but from my perspective, someone who’s read a few books he was in, he comes off to me as like… just Brambleclaw part 2 in terms of “i look like tigerclaw” backstory. His and Dovewing’s romance didn’t feel particularly special in oots and I don’t remember him being especially nice to her
BUT. i dont know. If any Tigerheart fans want to convert me I am listening, maybe I’m just baised because i didn’t like him in middle school.

I was wondering about some of the PO3 cast and what their personalities will be like in the rewrite. Firstly, Poppyfrost; I've seen a lot of people complain about her being initially described as "fearless" only for that to be forgotten as soon as she had kits so she could turn into a generic, constantly worrying mom. I wonder what you have planned for her in the rewrite besides the relationship with Jayfeather. Also Cinderheart, since so much of her canon story was based on the weird ableist reincarnation arc, and finally Heathertail, who kind of gets dropped by the plot in canon after falling out with Lionblaze but is supposed to have a more important role in your rewrite.
Been sitting on this ask for a bit because I didn't have a good answer at the time, and sat on it until the newest reworks came up so now I have more solid ideas
Poppyfrost
I have a solid trait that I want to work with; Bonefall Poppyfrost dislikes getting involved in conflict. There's plenty of argumentative, brave cats around her who are going to be arguing with Bramblestar in particular and having large opinions on the direction the Clan is turning in, so I want to make sure there are more "neutral" cats and Poppyfrost feels right to me.
I think she's inquisitive. She likes learning and knowing the truth about things, but isn't fond of battles and debates. What she likes about Jayfeather is that he speaks his mind; and their outdoorsy, practical natures mesh very well together. She is probably one of the people who helps with his garden.
She only gets involved in conflict after TBC, when Cherryfall and Berrynose die pointlessly and she can't stay quiet anymore
She's still a bit of a WIP, though it seems like the direction she's currently leaning in is going to have that "fearlessness" be less about being brave and more about being curious.
Cinderheart
I have another ask I'm going to answer about why I've given her BPD because it's an interesting story; but without getting into the process of why we chose her, Cinderheart is getting that reincarnation plotline utterly removed and replaced with a story more based on how she handles her emotions
I don't have a full story yet here; just the knowledge of the sorts of scenes I want to write and the interactions she has with others
Cinderheart's role in the story is as a major supporting character in the slice-of-life-esque Po3, and later she's the mother of Dovewing and Ivypool in OotS. I initially planned for her and Lionblaze to be a romantic couple, but their chemistry hasn't really clicked yet so I'm considering them being... something else
Jaypaw comes up with the water therapy for her broken leg while he's a warrior apprentice (foreshadowing that he's an incredible medic), but Lionpaw is the one who helps push her through it
They adopt Jay and Poppy's kits together, less as mates and more because they want their siblings to still access the kittens. They come into conflict later as Jay and Lion push them into harm's way, and in AVoS, Cinderheart has Lionblaze's litter (Hollylark, not sure what siblings they're keeping) and is tentative about letting him be involved with their early childhoods.
I would also like to make sure she gets advancement unrelated to just Lionblaze and her children, too, though it's going to end up being a big part of her as only a supporting character. She will probably end up becoming an above-average, very reliable warrior
Heathertail
Heathertail is going to have a bigger role in AVoS. It was a massive waste that she's the child Onestar acknowledges and she has no noteworthy feelings about Darktail
Even Onestar's Confession just has Heather and White go, "it is bad you lied but we forgive you :)"
Heather is going to get wrapped up in the Kin somehow and Darktail is going to hurt her in some way. This is going to be tied to the way Onestar refuses to help ShadowClan when they really need the aid. Breezepelt is going to do something to save her, turning against the Kin to save multiple cats.
Through Po3, OotS, and AVoS, Heathertail struggles with the idea of serving her Clan and father over doing what's right. She considers what she wants to do with her legacy and the purpose of forgiveness, and what these things mean to her.
She's brave, assertive, and calculating. I think this will work well with Breezepelt, who's also brave and assertive, but rash and emotional.
With these three I have a good opportunity to set them up, because Po3, OotS, and AVoS is the point in Warriors where we get a consistent cast for several books and I'm willing to go even further to yank the POVs away from completely new characters. All of them will get dedicated "episodes" in Po3.

I would like to ask for Jay, Lion, and Holly!
The beloveds! <3 Thank you so much for this ask. <3
Starting off:
Tumblr media
To nobody's surprise, I fucking adore Jayfeather. I'd say it stems from a combination of my natural affinity for asshole with a chip on their shoulder as a character type, the glaring flaws in how his story was handled being an alluring writing challenge, and just the fact that I find his presence on the page entertaining. I've had a lot of time to let my thoughts swirl and when writing about him I keep finding new and interesting angles for him. I love all his worst aspects from the bratty kid he started out as to the jaded adult he grew up to be and even with the way he played into stealing Dovewing's youth for the sake of the stupid ghost cats he hates so much. That's another interesting aspect of him actually, the way he's deeply misotheistic and yet still very committed to Clan religion. I want to strangle basically any time he says anything about Mothwing but at the same time I'm very appreciative of how he has this complicated relationship to the religion he was raised into and which has dominated his whole life. All in all, fantastic character start to finish.
Now onto his blander brother:
Tumblr media
I love the idiot blond perhaps a little too much. In canon, he suffers from being easily the most boring character on both arcs he's a protagonist of, particularly in Omen of the Stars when his chapters turn straight up painful to read. The Fourth Apprentice was so fucking dull outside the Jayfeather PoV chapters and while Dovewing's chapters did get much more interesting, Lionblaze's never really did. But as a character I get to write constantly considering my particular obsessions with sibling dynamics and my love for Jayfeather, the Lionblaze I portray is a surprisingly interesting character. I don't know what exactly I tapped into, I don't think I'm pulling this stuff entirely out of my ass, Scout has even complimented me on accurate characterization of him so I have someone backing me up on that. But I don't know, something about this fluffball that can go from endearing himbo to little monster fueled by anger and pent up aggression makes me want to write more constantly.
And finally:
Tumblr media
I feel like Hollyleaf is the sibling I have the weakest grasp on. In fact I'm planning on rereading Po3 soon-ish just to refresh my memory and try to really get her and understand what makes her tick. She's a really important balancing influence in the sibling dynamic with her brothers and she plays the extremely important role of being the brains (much as Jayfeather would like to think otherwise) and the initiative of the group. Her reaction to the parentage reveal is also extremely interesting and really cements her as a memorable character. And on a more personal note, I sometimes say she's my extremely niche representation what with the whole "wanted to be a doctor as a kid but realized they were too squeamish for the job and too uninterested in learning". Because of that I have a distaste for medicine cat Hollyleaf AUs that frame it as "Hollyleaf follows her dreams and gets to be happy". No, if you want to go for meddie Holly, I'd say a more realistic outcome would be her turning out to be the same kind of embittered asshole as Jayfeather. Just without the sarcastic edge or endearing smartass attitude. In fact, I think embittered asshole meddie Holly would enhance her breakdown and moral crisis.

Mapleshade trains Hollyleaf

Sweetgrass (tagged; windclan princess au)
(Princess joins Windclan as a kit and renamed Sweetkit)
"Time Travel" AU or is it this link
(After the events of the Great Battle, those who died during it finds themselves in their old territory- not only are they not in Starclan (or just don't exist anymore)- things are very different, some cats who weren't alive before are now and some play very important roles later on)
Smudge: Skyclan savior
(Smudge doesn't want to bother his very busy Thunderclan leader friend so he goes on a mission brought to him by some ghost cat to restore a clan. Wonder how that goes)
Skyclan was always there
(What if Skyclan was still a clan? There was just no way of communicating with those in the forest territory- or perhaps that was on purpose)
Ravenpaw & Dustpaw both witness Redtail's murder
(pretty self explanatory)
Not-so-lawfully good Firestar
(Maybe being not only Thunderclan's sole savior, but every clan in the forest PLUS being given the chance to restore an entire ancient clan did something to this fire furred cat's ego..just a bit...a smidge if you will)
Sandstorm is the fire that saves the clans
(I uhm,, never made a post about this ? I swear i did,,,anyway it's also p self explanatory)
Smoke leads The Kin alongside her son, Darktail
(i would have had no issue with darktail being evil IF IT WERENT FOR HIM HAVING DADDY ISSUES? that is so boring. let a cat be evil just because they want to. but if you want to go that route so be it erins. Smoke and Darktail team up to take down the clans, Smoke feels betrayed, she heard so many great stories about the clans, about her,,m-mat,,,ugh onewhisker's achievements and how *he* was a great cat just to be turned away when in a time of need. so uhh they plan to destroy the clans...idk how they got to that idea but they do and u can read whatever mess i wrote in the og post)
Hawkfrost :)
(i basically just give Hawkfrost more of a character.)
Warrior Cinderpelt (because she deserves it)
(Cinderpaw still gets hit by a car but the person takes her away to get help. Like a month later or smth, she comes back to Thunderclan, recovered and ready to get back to her training)

🔥 The Three
I'm not sure how popular/unpopular these opinions are but here they are!
Overall: Cool concept, poorly executed. The powers of the three had literally no bearing on the outcome of the battle, the reason for them having powers was "IDK, something old decided it". It would have been interesting if their powers weren't necessary for the battle and this WAS a plot point - such as StarClan warriors desperately finding a way to impart powers onto some cats to stop the battle and making up a prophecy about it - but if they had been three regular warriors the Clans still would have won.
Jayfeather: I'm really... tired of him and his attitude. His grumpy boy routine was entertaining when he was a POV character but now it just makes me roll my eyes. He has NO character development. I'm not saying he has to mellow out completely and become a sweet guy, but he genuinely... just doesn't have an arc that requires some kind of development? Which feels silly considering the personality he has and the conflict he has as a character early on. Any major life decision has been forced on him and he just goes along with it (complaining is not actual conflict). He should have either a) said "get bent" to Spottedleaf and kept trying to become a warrior despite the challenges OR b) became a medicine cat but learned to love the role and understand it's importance... but he does neither and so his conflict here is just irrelevant and not compelling. He never fights anyone on what he wants to do, he just makes mean comments about everyone and never grows up in any meaningful way. Also sidenote I find his romance with Half Moon really weird... same with Hollyleaf and Fallen Leaves. They're VERY long dead :|. They're not bad ideas but they're not really executed in an exciting enough way to really be taken as seriously as they are, IMO.
Lionblaze: Really really bland and could have been SO much more interesting. He had serious aggression problems hinted at throughout PO3, but then they just... don't mean anything. He should have had some kind of a foil to his power because he really IS the most powerful of the three. It would have made his arc much more interesting if he had some kind of internal conflict, because he has even less conflict going on than Jayfeather does.
Hollyleaf: I love Hollyleaf and I wish she hadn't died. She dies a hero which is nice but I feel like... it kind of undermines the whole point of her making a return to the Clans and trying to do better. She had the most compelling story to me - a character obsessed with upholding the code totally dissing it by murdering someone after her whole worldview is shattered by the truth about her parents - and it could have been resolved in a more impactful way. It also, while surprising, wasn't the most shocking of the OG three to kill off, considering she'd already been 'dead' for almost all of OotS. I think it would have been really surprising if it had been Lionblaze that had died, and would have given a pretty solid moment of "oh crap, maybe we CANT win this battle if the Dark Forest can kill our unbeatable warrior". It's not like they already hadn't set up that he CAN be hurt by DF warriors, as he had been hurt in his dreams before.
Dovewing: I used to hate Dovewing but looking back I really like her. I don't like her as much in AVoS, but I think she got a lot of shit from the fandom in OotS for no good reason. She had way less time than the og three to adjust to having powers (I'm pretty sure she found out the day she was apprenticed), and didn't have siblings that had the same experience to fall back on. She was VERY young and not prepared to take on the burden of saving the Clans. I'm not a fan of her and Tigerheart, but I'm not surprised she ran into a relationship with him. I think it made sense for her character and provided relief that she REALLY needed from ThunderClan.

Ok this is super late but Path of a Warrior Reviews (cause they're short and I’m not ready to read the new series yet)
Overall these were all better than I expected them to be???
Sure there’s definitely some clunky parts in each of them, but I was expecting far worse. None of them were Bad
Redtail’s Debt
- Redpaw was super cute!! I really liked how he admired Tigerclaw so much, but it was easy to see how Tigerclaw had already started on his dark path even while Sunstar was leader.
- I do wish Tigerclaw wasn’t so overly evil while still a young warrior (he looks like a masochist in this book, when really this would have been a good opportunity to show off Tigerclaw’s other characteristics than being bloodthirsty and violent)
- I like how Redtail goes from being a timid apprentice to a wise warrior and deputy, he was obviously a great choice for the position
- I wish we saw Whitestorm and Lionheart more in this book, they seemed to strike me as cats who would be close friends
- I don’t even want to talk about the crazy inconsistency with Redtail killing Oakheart. Now there are three different tellings of that battle at Sunningrocks! Which one is the truth?????
- I honestly don’t really mind the 180 in Ravenpaw’s character because witnessing your role model murdering your own clanmate and deputy is a traumatic thing to witness. Ravenpaw was also barely out of the nursery, so it makes sense that this would change him. My only worry about it is that the other characters in Into The Wild acted as if his behavior was normal and that he was always jumpy and nervous.
- I rate it a 5/10
Tawnypelt’s Clan
- I complained about Tawnypelt’s character in her novella but honestly it wasn’t a bad story and there were lots of good parts.
- I wish there was some mention of Feathertail and the sacrifice she made for the Tribe... seeing as she visits the tribe. I wish she went to like see Feathertail’s grave or something. Just, as like a character moment.
- I wish she and Stormfur talked more in the novella, I know they have a conversation but... I just felt like it wasn’t enough since they went on a literal life changing journey together as young adults
- I felt like the novella wasn’t really long enough to tell the whole story, I feel like there were so many more character moments that could have been shared between Tawnypelt and Dovewing (like the shared “I have a sibling in ThunderClan”, which is implied but they never make that connection outright with each other)
- I wish Tawnypelt saw her children Dawnpelt and Flametail in addition to Rowanclaw in her dream/vision
- I don’t really get why she steps down from being deputy, I mean I’m not gonna flip out over it because I know Tawnystar will never be a thing at this point, but her Clan needs her experience????
- I wish Tigerstar the first was mentioned more, especially since her son is literally also named Tigerstar...
- I find it ironic that this novella is called Tawnypelt’s Clan but the whole thing is spent talking about the Tribe
- Shadowkit is freakin adorable
- I rate it a 6/10
Shadowstar’s Life
- Ok I know lots of people didn’t like this one BUT THIS ONE WAS MY FAVORITE
- I barely remember any of the DOTC characters but I felt like this novella focused on the characters that were important and showed off their personalities well
- I like how we know all of Shadowstar’s deaths, I don’t think we know all of them for any of the leaders in the series besides her
- I was worried that they would do a 180 on Shadowstar’s character to fit the description of her death in one of the field guides (where they say she lost her last life first in a battle she started) but they ACTUALLY found a way to comply with canon but also not make her a completely different character!!!!
- The above makes you wonder how in the hell the Redtail disaster got through editing
- I will admit the villain was weak, but also again this is a ten chapter novella so I think it’s just the length that hurts the story. These novellas should really be like 15 chapters (Or change in length depending on what is needed for the story!!!!)
- (((OR maybe this should have been a super edition I would’ve read the hell out of that)))
- Windstar was a boss ass bitch in this one, if I was more into the DOTC characters I’d be a huge Windstar/Shadowstar shipper
- Clear Sky is always just fucking strange as usual like he constantly yo-yos and goes back on his previous character development
- Thunderstar is a goddamn idiot but I love him still
- The ending where Shadowstar and Quick Water die at the same time was kind of a lame cop out BUT I LIKED THE PART WHERE SHADOWSTAR FORGAVE HER OKAY IM wEAK IM SORRY
- The ending-ending with gray wing made me cry okay like fUCKKKKKKK
- I rate this novella an 8/10 I genuinely enjoyed this one

Warrior cats is garbage here is why (Edited: now with racism rant)
For several years majority of us who are in this fandom have read a lot of these books and when we were young we used to praise them as great works of fiction and really cool for any cat lover so much so that we made little animated music videos of these fictional cats in their fictional world.
However it’s time for those rose tinted goggles to come off as we need to talk about how warrior cats is a garbage series and how it can be fixed but it won’t be because the Erins are not listening to us in all actuality.
Continuity what’s that?: The writer’s don’t know either
So Warrior Cats has a lot of books, I mean tons that you would think that they would have a good sense of continuity. Let me tell you something my friend continuity does not exist in these books. Some cats will have the wrong pelt colors, names will be badly spelled, and don’t get me started on characters coming back to life (Literally). The most prominent example of these continuity errors would have to be Clawface who dies in the book “Fire and Ice.” but then comes back to life a book that is between “Forest of Secrets” and “Rising Storm.” You might be asking yourself “Why are there so many continuity and mistakes in the series Catie?” Well the thing about most book series is that the authors probably have a backlog of what is canon and the continuity of the series in general.
However it seems the Erins do not have this as they seem to be writing the books very carelessly which brings a lot of problems with it. Sure this is a series for children but that does not mean you get to be lazy with your continuity or editing. Frankly if I were in charge I would have the Erins write down everything they are going to write in the future into a book for continuity sake. That way we don’t have cats being misgendered or coming back to life however there might not even be a good source of continuity when the Erins keep having different opinions over which cat becomes mates with which cat (we are going to get back to the Erin’s bickering later though) The same happened with Dovewing’s eyes and everyone threw a massive shit fit over that… Maybe in the future this problem will be fixed but lord knows that will happen....
Incest is wincest: The Erins creepy obsession with mates and incest
I don’t think I have to make this any simpler but DON’T FUCK YOUR COUSIN! I don’t think has been iterated enough to the Erins and i’m fucking impress the editor has caught only instance of this when there are several instances of this shit. The most recent which had me seething was Ivypool and Fernsong, we literally had an arc about pretty much how Lionblaze, Jayfeather, and Dovewing are all kin of Firestar and that Ivypool (Dovewing’s sister) and Fernsong (Lionblaze’s son) are literally cousins! Like not even distant cousins! Yet Kate Cary did not find that a little weird… We then have Dustpelt and Ferncloud who are related (Dustpelt being Ferncloud’s uncle) Let us not forget that Willowpelt and Patchpelt who are SIBLINGS also be come mates and had Greystripe. Oh and don’t get me started on how Sandstorm’s half brother was hitting on her daughter! You could always put in the notion “But Catie they are just cats what is wrong with incest.” and I have to say that we can’t keep crying that when this is a fantasy in which cats are organised, have their own religion, and have their own myths and traditions. These are anthropomorphized cats and this is also a children’s book. The Erins should not have so much incest in a children’s book of all things but they have done much worse so I don’t put it against them.
However let's talk about the near graphic depictions of childbirth these books have. These authors have a weird obsession over pregnant cats and giving us wonderful imagery of these cats giving birth. Like think about it for a split second how many graphic depictions of birth do you read in a warrior cats book. However the weird thing about the Erins is how the she cats keep getting younger when they get pregnant have y’all noticed that. Violetshine who was just named a warrior suddenly gets pregnant and has kids. Mothflight who was a brand new medicine cat gets pregnant as well and has some kits. (Mothflight is probably the worst mother though because she gave away a kit who literally drowned and might have PTSD to a clan that swims like it would be interesting to see where that goes but I doubt the Erins would ever go down that path) there is also Star Flower who is impregnated by Clear Sky and his son Thunder was lusting over this she cat and it’s really weird and I don’t get it…
Either way the Erins are very creepy with this stuff and let’s just leave it at that (Of now…)e
Death of the author: The Erins should not dictate canon unless it’s in the books:
Time to get to the most important point in this whole entire rant that is address to the wiki in particular. It’s time to commit to death of the author because if we want to determine what is canon and what is not we need to do this action.
To the people who have no idea what “Death of the author.” is it’s when we decide that what the authors say outside of the books should not be canon because these writers are doing nothing but harm if we keep having their words be the word of gospel because from what you can tell the Erins are not that good with continuity and have even started several fan wars. One of the most prominent examples of when we needed to commit “Death of the author” the most though was with warriors superfan Su Susan. Su Susan helped fill the wiki pages however giving a super fan that much power is going to lead to a lot of wars between fans and we already have enough to bicker about. Yeah it’s interesting to see who Swiftpaw’s siblings are or who the rest of Princess’s kits are but if you give a superfan the power to change possible canon then it becomes a problem and what makes me a little ticked off is that a wiki that is suppose to give us official information followed this superfan’s word which is a giant problem.
You guys have to be more critical of what you accept what is canon and what is not guys or else we are going to face even more problems in the warriors fandom in general.
The part where I talk about Ableism from the Erins
Yeah not fancy title here because what the erins do to disabled cats is kind of disgusting. The cats who have disabilities in this book series really get shit on like a lot. Then again it does not help that the first disabled cats we meet are named One-eye and Halftail. That’s not even the beginning of all of the bad names these cats get for having a disability we got Deadfoot, Crookedjaw, White-eye, Runningnose, and Lostface. Most of these are renames too like what is with these leaders and allowing these names to exist or should I say why is the editor allowing this shit in the first place? Sure most of these guys get high ranks and that’s fine but do they have to have such awful names and don’t get me started on Rainflower and how badly she treated Crookedstar. Even worse is probably Brokenstar who got ridiculed by his whole entire clan for having a broken tail like why do the Erins write this shit… Let’s not forget all the disable cats that became medicine cats. The most prominent being Cinderpelt and Jayfeather one being crippled by a car and the other being blind.
It would have been so interesting to have a cat like Cinderpelt despite her injuries rise up and become a warrior after he leg injury because that would have showcased a strong female character despite her being crippled by a car instead what do the Erins do? “Let’s make her a medicine cat and then reincarnate her and then not even do that and just let her spirit be possessed by this cat.” Oh yes that’s definitely what I want to see instead of something empowering to give to all of the female audiences that are reading this series which seems to be the majority of warrior cats fans!
Then there is Jayfeather who is blind and pretty much get shucked into the role of medicine cat apprentice which fucking sucks because a blind warrior would have been a cool concept as well. Like imagine all these cool concepts that could have happened in warriors but did not because The Erins didn’t even think of the possibility. Another possibility for a blind warrior before even Jayfeather would have been Longtail but that was also wasted potential too. Then we finally get to the most wasted potential and possible good representation for disabled people if The Erins had not killed her off Briarlight. Briarlight is pretty much oozing with potential to be a good storyline about a warrior who overcomes her disability and helps her clan in some way. Hell you could have made her a mediator it would have been a perfect role for her as it would give Briarlight something to do besides be the medicine cat assistant. Then in the most “Fuck you.” moment they kill her off because of course we can’t have a cat with such a crippling disability be useful… I also forgot to mention Snowkit who was deaf but didn’t matter if would get a deaf warrior who could possibly use sign language let’s just send a hawk in to kill the kit!
This is how ableist the Erins are when they won’t let us have any good representation when they won’t let a fully blind cat be a warrior or even a deaf cat. However it seems The Erins don’t seem really into that and would rather have warriors be normal cats without any disabilities which is wrong.
She cats are dispensable: The Erins are sexist
Yes despite there being a lot of women in the writing process of this series the series seems to really love killing off mainly she cats. (This also might be why we keep getting a lot of incest) There are very few she cats that really live for a very long time hell sometimes they will even kill off she cats with major storylines off book or you will find out about their deaths in their super editions or novellas if you read those. The most notorious currently is Leafpool in the most recent novel as we barely get any mention of her at all and yet her death has impacted the clans but when you don’t let us see her die or even let us say goodbye to a character until another couple of months people are going to get pissed. Hell Hollyleaf’s death was another example of people getting pissed at the Erins as you just introduced her in one book only to kill her off in the next. Needletail who should have been a way more prominent character in Vision of Shadows gets killed off way too early as well as I believe she did not get enough character development for me to really like her all that much. Silverstream, Spottedleaf, Ferncloud, and Sorreltail are probably the most prominent of characters that should not have died so soon because there could have been some interesting plot development with these cats.
Even Bramblestar in Bramblestar’s storm talks about there are very few she cats left in his clan. Maybe it’s because The Erins just keep killing she cats who have potential to be good characters if they didn’t keep shanking them with their writing knives. It’s disgusting how many times we get she cats who are strong and powerful who then get shanked by the Erins everytime the plots needs to move on. Sandstorm was killed off to “Lessen the load.” Spottedleaf was killed off so “Firestar did not have to choose in starclan.” Hollyleaf did because “She made the ultimate sacrifice.” these deaths are preventable and provide nothing to the reader at all but disappointment and anger.
We still have some interesting she cats like Mothwing, Tawnypelt, Mistystar, and Squirrelflight but lord knows when they are going to get the knife as well…
You are going to love these characters: Erins have made some really bad characters
Welcome to the several hundred take on why Ashfur is a bad character for so many reasons even though I can now do you a couple better. Let’s just start with Ashfur because he is one of the easier cats to point out The Erin’s shit writing. First of all Ashfur starts out as friends with Squirrelflight and they get close but I think we all knew she was going to end up with Bramblestar eventually. However instead of acting like a normal person during a breakup Ashfur goes straight to 11. Ashfur sets up a trap to MURDER Squirrelflight’s father and when that didn’t work he tried to murder her adopted children (Another thing The Erins seem to hate is adopted families) still Ashfur goes to Starclan because he “Loved too much.” you can clearly see the problem here… How about a cat who complains about their fucking leg being crushed DARK FOREST BITCH that’s what happened to Lilywhisker when one The Erins confirmed that but was quickly revoked because that gives us even more questions about Starclan and whoever is judging the cats up there needs a fucking intervention.
Onestar fucking Onestar… there is so much wrong with this cat that even I was like “Mudclaw would have been a better leader than this asshole.” Onestar decides to be mates with a random kittypet and then when it’s time to move he doesn’t allow his son to be in the clans and prevent pretty bad disaster from happening. Demanded more than he rightfully deserved because of his status as a leader and being a general dick to Firestar along with dissing him off. You expect me to accept his apology for doing all of this shit only for him to drown to death and calling it “Heroic.” fuck no Erins Onestar deserved that because he no longer was leading that clan because Onestar is the worst character in the warrior cats series because The Erins decided to shit on Onestar’s character I would rather read a fanfic where Mudclaw was leader cause he probably would not be doing this shit.
Spottedleaf’s Heart: The worst book in warriors so far
Alright let’s rip the bandage off because you all knew this book was going to come into the discussion some how and we need to talk about this like grown people because this is where I pretty much stopped reading the series. Vicky who wrote the book as written a book where the lesson that was learned here was “It’s okay to groom a child and force them down a path they don’t want to go on.” This book is the worst offender of how shitty The Erins are in my opinion when they themselves even after Vicky left did not denounce this awful book and made it noncanon because frankly this book is the only book in my opinion that I am convinced is non canon because of how disgusting it is. Vicky retired when this book got the much need criticism and backlash it needed but sadly because Vicky retired we will probably never get a statement about possibly making this one story non canon because frankly children should not be reading that kind of stuff especially when it is written so poorly.
So just to summarize The Erins are currently saying “Child grooming is okay.” to their readers and not even think “Hey maybe we should have Spottedpaw talk to a grown up about this stuff and maybe get her out of this situation” that would have been a great idea but no body decided that was a good idea.
The tribe of racism: How The Erins are really fucking racist
This is an edited in part because after thinking it through and someone having opened my eyes about this I was shocked that I did not think about this when I initially posted the essay. Let’s talk about racism in the warrior cats series.
The clan cats will be coded white
The tribe cats coded native american
Bloodclan coded African american
Susan and Jacques coded hispanic
other rogues, loners, and kittypets can be coded as other minorities as well.
Now warrior cats has a white savior complex because The Tribe cats cannot defend themselves without the clan cats apparently because they had to be saved from a giant lion and a bunch of rogues along with there being a panic over who the next leader should be. The Erins pretty much wrote native Americans as “Confused defenceless people who don’t know what to do against really bad threats.” despite surviving for 60 YEARS. I would love to see a book on the tribe being strong cats but The Erins don’t want to do that as it would be “Too boring and there would be few cats.” like wtf Erins the tribe of rushing would be very interesting and would introduce us to different customs maybe even learn about how their religion works. When we do get a POV of a tribe of rushing water cat they all immediately leave the mountains to go to the forest so we can’t have a proper POV of the Tribe of rushing water’s life.
Bloodclan though has a very different problem from The tribe of rushing water. These guys are coded black as they seem to have some sort of organized gang and judging by how racist the Erins are it would not be too far from the case to believe that they are an African american street gang/mafia (They could also be a form of an Italian mafia as well which is still bad) however the gang after being led from their city to the clan territory they are quickly killed off by the “Superior clan cats.” who once again are coded white. You can see where this is going the white people killing off and disbanding an African American street gang. If this sounds familiar that’s because it happened to the black panther party a group of African Americans who wanted to defend themselves only to be killed off and tortured by the very white government.
Now you can argue with me that Jaques and Susan are not hispanic however they are pretty much very muscular and are bullies to the clan cats. They also killed Talonpaw and are then confronted by the clans and are quickly defeated. These two kittypets while this is going to be a stretch are most likely based on the hispanic stereotype of how they are quick to anger and are super macho. As secrets of the clans states “They are both Hostile and dangerous, with no warrior code to guide their actions.”
Then there are the rogues, loners, and kittypets who the very white clans constantly insult and are pretty terrible to despite their kindness. The only clan that is very accepting of rogues and even lets them stay in their camp in Windclan. Even cats who originally did not have racial prejudice suddenly have it and get very angry over having to welcome a new warrior in (Oh no more people to help you defend your clan how terrible!) All in all The Erins are pretty racist writers which is great to stack up with the other shit they have done as well...
In Conclusion
The Erins currently are really bad writers and as it currently stands people. I recommend to stop reading the warrior cats series as I believe it’s only going to get worse from here. I would instead focus my attention at fan works which have a far better continuity and even though there are some great books after Dawn of the clans I think Dawn of the clans is like the best ending to read and warriors and the Erins should have stopped there and then just did super editions and novellas.

Imagine if the Po3 Hadn’t Been Used for Good
(Forewarning this is going to be long and also contain a lot of spoilers for every series up to OoTS !!) Okay so I’m rereading The Power of Three and honestly, Hollypaw Lionpaw and Jaypaw’s behavior is sort of surprising to me, it’s been a while since I read the books and I had originally skipped the second arc due to my library not having it and went straight to Po3 so I didn’t think much of it but holy crap are the three intolerant towards cat’s with unusual backgrounds. Now I know Leafpool and Crowfeather are their biological parents but for the sake of this post I’ll be referring to Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight as their parents, considering they raised them.  After having just read TNP for the first time I’m really surprised by all of the snide comments and thoughts the three have about cats, even cats they know and love, who aren’t clanborn or follow the code. Considering it was a big thing in TNP for Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight to be forced to see past the circumstances of one’s birth and being tolerant towards cats from other clans and cats that weren’t even clanborn, I would have expected their children to reflect these views. Now, I imagine they did this to sort of have the big reveal of the three’s biological parents be so much more impactful but I think if we look at things a tad differently they become really interesting.  So first we have Lionpaw, who makes the usual comments here and there notably being surprised that Daisy’s kits were chosen over Sorreltail’s to go to the gathering since they weren’t really Thunderclan as they were born in the horseplace. Aside from this he doesn’t seem too ambitious outside of the usual apprentice mentality of “I’m going to be the best warrior there ever was!” He does however seem oddly battle hungry for a cat who only just became an apprentice. At his first gathering he hints at hoping that ShadowClan would start a fight, Hollypaw only scolding him because that would be against the warrior code. He then remarks that his sister wouldn’t understand the rivalries amongst the clans due to her training to become a medicine cat. Now say what you will about it just being due to Lionpaw romanticizing battle and not understanding that the other clans aren’t bad per se, but then we get to Lionpaw’s first fight; the border skirmish with ShadowClan and that’s where things get kind of odd. The battles goes as expected with ThunderClan coming out as winner, but afterwards Lionpaw is outright overjoyed about his first real fight, even having enough leisure in battle to stop and assist Jaypaw not by throwing Owlpaw off of him, but instead guiding him word by word on how to defeat Owlpaw.  Then we have Jaypaw, who’s sick of being patronized and urged into becoming a medicine cat apprentice. A cat who, his entire life, has only ever dreamt of one day being as strong and powerful as his father, Brambleclaw. He holds the same prejudice against cats not born pure ThunderClan and even has the gall to suggest to Firestar that ThunderClan take advantage of WindClan during the dog attack after spying on Barkface in a dream. He was offered to be trained by Tigerstar and Hawkfrost and almost accepted, only becoming a medicine cat because he realizes the power he holds and being very vocal about how disappointed he is with the day to day life of a medicine cat. (Applying poultices, collecting herbs, etc etc.)  And finally we have Hollypaw, who’s most notable among the fanbase for being ambitious. She holds the same views as her brothers only having more respect for the warrior code which led to her insinuating that her own father shouldn’t be deputy because Graystripe was revealed to still have been alive. She ultimately becomes a medicine cat apprentice solely because she wants to be important to the Clan, not because she enjoys healing. Plus, they somewhat all have superiority complexes, as their father is the Clan deputy, their mother’s sister is the medicine cat, and their grandfather is the Clan leader. Jaykit notes at the beginning of the book that the clan worked hard to make sure they weren’t treated differently because of this, which seems fair, yet he notes “Sometimes it felt like the rest of the Clan went out of their way to make sure he and his littermates never got special treatment. It wasn’t fair!” Which ??? seems pretty fair to me and makes it feel like Jaykit expected more for being kin with Brambleclaw, Leafpool, and Firestar. Now, it’s interesting in and of itself to note that Brambleclaw fathered them as he struggled with his own ambitions in his warriorhood, but it’s even more interesting to imagine what could have happened if the three hadn’t been so loyal to StarClan. For the sake of the post, let’s just say Hollypaw is one of the three and has the powers Dovewing gets in OoTS. Imagine if the three had become somewhat antagonistic during the series, especially after learning of the prophecy which, in this case, only serves to further their mentalities of being superior and reaffirms their faith in the warrior code. Fast forward to Eclipse and to the introduction of Sol, a cat who knows of StarClan and, presumably, the Dark Forest, a cat who has enough faith to know they are real, but who doesn’t seem to value them all that much. Originally the plan was for Sol to help train the three to learn to control their powers and to use them for the sake of their Clan, but we all know Sol only seeks to benefit himself and thus chooses to stray their paws from the path of serving their Clan in StarClan’s name. Now, the three, frustrated by StarClan’s refusal to elaborate on the prophecy eat this all up. So Sol twists the words of the Warrior Code and makes it seem as though it were their destiny to lead ThunderClan, with Hollypaw as the leader, Lionpaw as deputy, and Jaypaw as the medicine cat. He suggests they overthrow their kin and expand ThunderClan’s territory, claiming that if their rival Clans couldn’t defend their territory then that was their problem and that in expanding their territory they could provide so much to ThunderClan, enough that they would never have to worry about anything again. They could rule the forest if they wanted.  But the three aren’t evil, they think they’re doing the right thing. This is their destiny, after all. They reveal their abilities to their clanmates and demand Firestar, Brambleclaw, and Leafpool step down from their respective duties, referencing times in which they strayed from the warrior code and how that impacted the Clan. Leafpool, having run off to be with Crowfeather and having been too late to warn ThunderClan of the Badgers. Brambleclaw, who nearly killed Firestar so that he could become leader not out of respect and devotion to ThunderClan or the Warrior Code, but because of his own selfish desires. And Firestar, who in giving territory to ShadowClan and allowing so many cats that existed outside of the code into ThunderClan sparked the battle which led to the Sun being covered. The battle which nearly killed their mother. And ThunderClan has reason to doubt their leaders at this point, they were never keen on what ThunderClan was becoming and now, due to the Eclipse, have reason to believe that StarClan is angry with them. And they have a completely viable solution, the three who hold the power of the stars in their paws can set them on the path that will lead ThunderClan to glory. It’s almost as if it’s too good to be true.  Things get more aggressive quickly, due to their lack of experience the three make sure its known that those who disobey the code will be punished, they make it known that they hold a power cats can only dream of, and they make it known to their neighbors that they are not to be challenged. While they can’t have been happy about it, Firestar, Brambleclaw, and Leafpool all are the types of characters that would pity themselves, and they do, the Clan’s support of the three and the apparent prophecy about them leads them to believe that yeah, maybe they’re right. But Squirrelflight? You’d best believe that when she finds out she is pissed. And so, during the fire, it’s not Ashfur that blocks the Three’s path out of camp. It’s Squirrelflight. She expresses that she loves them and that they’re young and don’t know what they’re doing but that they are messing with powers they don’t understand, powers that could lead to the downfall of ThunderClan. The three don’t want to hurt Squirrelflight but things do get heated until ultimately Squirrelflight reveals that she is not their biological mother. Shocked and hurt, Squirrelflight flees with the three following. Suddenly, everything is different. The powers they have, the role they thought they were meant to play, if their biological parents had followed the warrior code that they are so heavily trying to enforce they wouldn’t even exist. How can they be anything but a danger to the Clan. A curse meant to cause the downfall of life as Clan cats know it. Confused and upset they flee the forest and Firestar, Brambleclaw, and Leafpool regain their positions and no cat sees the three for some moons.
