Mr. Friendly - wherein I make it sad
Did I do it wrong? The shadow wondered, from the quiet darkness of the closet, it’s three little taps first, then again, then three more, and then quicker ones, right?…or was it slower ones? Was I not s’posed to tap the door after…
He had tried this before, many times in fact, more than he could count–maybe more than anyone could–and it always ended the same. No matter which way he did, no matter how many patterns he tried.
They ran away.
But the tapping was the right thing, he knew it was! Though…though he wasn’t sure how he knew. Something in his rippling dark just…knew.
It whispered, tap tap tap.
And so he tapped. On the walls, on the floors, even on the ceiling–when he could stretch up to reach it. He tapped on everything, every night. It was easier at night, you see. For him to move, to think, to be…shadows don’t do so well in the daylight, but his especially.
Not all light hurt, most of it only itched, but daylight–sunlight–that hurt. It burned his pale eyes and curled even his darkest shadows and, and he wasn’t sure what it would do if he stayed in it any longer than that. Would it burn him all up?
She was back.
The little girl came back!
…but she wasn’t alone.
And so he waited, and he watched, squeezing his dark through the thin crack beneath the closet.
~
“It was probably just the pipes, pumpkin,” Daddy told Maisy, in that stern but tired voice all parents have so late in the night.
But Maisy knew it wasn’t the pipes, “there’s something in there!”
“Alright, alright,” Daddy yawned, “you get safe and snuggly with Teddy and I’ll…look for monsters. In the closet.”
And he made a show of it, a show Maisy had grown accustomed to over many–many–nights of repeat performances. They may have been new to the house but all houses had closets, and all closets could have monsters.
“If you’re in there, monster,” Daddy sang, “you’d better get out because I’m tired and I’m grumpy and I’m comin’ in after you.”
Something flashed in the slats of the closet doors before Daddy swung them open, and Maisy saw it!
“Eyes,” She yelped, “eyes in the closet!”
“I’m in the closet, pumpkin,” Daddy assured, stepping into the slim space between toy boxes, blankets and winter clothes. He spun once around, arms wide and gave her a tired smile, “and there’s nothing here that doesn’t belong.”
But she saw it! She saw…something. Didn’t she?
“But, but,” she tried as Daddy returned to tuck her tighter into bed.
He kissed her forehead and pat Teddy, smiling at the cat’s gruff merp and yawned again, “There’s lots of cars outside, speeding by the window on their way to wherever their lives pull them. And, you know, headlights do look like eyes sometimes, if you squint.”
“Wasn’t squinting,” she pouted.
“Mmhm, well, was or wasn’t, there’s no monster in your closet. So how about you try to go to sleep and in the morning we can take a better look,” he smiled then, at the door, with his hand on the light switch and Maisy caught her favorite sparkle in his eyes, “Maybe we can even climb up into the attic…with some flashlights?”
Daddy knew her too well. The promise of adventure always worked and she nodded so hard she smashed Teddy’s little ears. He wriggled until she let him loose and Daddy’s chuckles lulled Maisy to sleep as the old cat followed the less excited human to bed.
~
He hid when the big one tried to find him, as he hid when any big ones did, but he hadn’t always. There was a time when he let them see him, let them touch him. But they screamed and screamed when he did, and then they tried to hurt him.
He hadn’t let any see him since, none except the little ones. They screamed too, but mostly they tried not to see him. It wasn’t much better–it was very lonely in fact–but it wasn’t as bad as being hurt.
But the new little girl wanted to see him, she even tried! And in the morning, she would be inside his closet, searching for him. He couldn’t say what would happen if she found him, but something about her, about the way she had stared at him through the slits, told him it wouldn’t be bad. It wouldn’t hurt.
He wanted her to find him.
Maybe it did work, he wondered, and his shadows rippled with a giggle. Maybe he tapped in the right order and finally found the one that would want him. But why the attic, he asked the moon-blue shadows of the room outside his hideaway.
He didn’t live in the attic. Nothing lived in the attic but spiders and a fat little mouse that never left them alone long enough for them to spin any pretty webs.
She would never find him there. But, if he were careful, and quiet, maybe he could lead her to where she would. He could even help her find him in a way that wouldn’t scare her away.
Not in the daytime though, not with that great big window in her room letting all that sun inside. Trying in the day would only get him hurt, again.
It was the same as it had been, as it always would be.
The humans out there were creatures of the light hours, when the sun was bright and warm. While he was a creature of deepest dark, one burned even in pale moonlight.
Even when it works…it doesn’t, if he could have sighed, could have puffed and whimpered then, he would have.
Instead he collapsed, draping his shadows over those of the boxes and clothes, melting until even the soft yellows of his eyes faded in the dark.

I just want to say, that I agree with almost all of your Critical Role takes and you have 1000% better and more nuanced takes than all of Twitter and I greatly appreciate it! The takes over there regarding Liliana and the gods are just wild and you bring some much needed sanity to the content I see
Thanks! I hope you don't mind because I've been thinking about this re: the Twitter takes but the thing about Twitter and Liliana specifically that I've seen is that there's this really bizarre fetishization of like, the fact that she is a (white) southerner (this also weirdly happened for Birdie though to a much lesser extent, and the person who spearheaded that wasn't even American so I have to assume this is a specific corner of Twitter Culture At Large). And like, here's the thing. It's true that fantasy tends to be very British in its accents, and it's also true that accents in a fantasy world are used to convey the same things we'd assume in our world - RP British for educated, southern American for rural, Cockney for rougher types, etc.
It's also true that laying the exact socioeconomic parallels from our world onto, say, Liliana and Orym (who reads to me as non-regional but I, like Liam, am from the Northeast originally) is a recipe for disaster. Or rather, it's not, but it is going to reaffirm your own biases, some of which are dangerous to reaffirm.
There was a popular post on Tumblr a while back, probably not long after Trump was elected, of someone talking about how they were convincing a relative with the confederate flag towards socialism by appealing to the idea of "isn't in unfair how uneven wealth distribution is and how a small group has so much control" and a number of people were rightfully like "uh, maybe you should focus on the racism" or "hey OP ask your relative who they think that small group in control is because I'm getting a really bad feeling they're going to say it's The Jews." And I feel that a lot of the empathy for Liliana from those spaces feels like that OP. Or in other words: I get that you see your relatives in Liliana. Unfortunately, I cannot help but see me and mine in Orym.
You see someone trapped by circumstance and desperation in a dangerous ideology. I see the fact that I haven't gone to a synagogue in easily 6-7 years without there being a security guard present and usually, the doors locked with someone looking through the window to let you in, and then in the sanctuary there's been an installation so that you can quickly bar all the doors in case an alarm goes off or you hear shots in the lobby.
I think there's a great case for seeing yourself in Imogen, who is in a painful struggle with the fact that her mother does love her very much but is in dangerously deep and has done a number of incredibly terrible and harmful things. That latter point is important, incidentally; I get that cult members sometimes rise through the ranks but all but the leader are being manipulated. But the fact remains that a brainwashed person can still commit atrocities, and in this story, they have, many times over. It's especially true because like...sure, plenty of people are like "I lost my relative to a cult and I just want them back and I couldn't harm them," but also, as we've seen, this cult can and will harm Imogen! Plenty of people are also like "yeah I gotta cut them off, it hurts but unfortunately my horribly bigoted and violent relative, while a victim of brainwashing, is a threat to me too." It's not even the full picture of the Temult side of things, let alone the picture that includes the Vanguard's victims.
I also think the Southern gatekeeping is unhinged because it's like. guys there's QAnon members and other cults across the country; the Confederate flag example above was actually notable in that OP wasn't even Southern so you couldn't even write the flag off as deeply misguided heritage but rather was explicitly being used as a hate symbol. It's awfully presumptive to assume all southerners have the same experience (especially since the Temults are portrayed, physically and in accents, as white southerners, not that the experiences of white southerners aren't also incredibly varied). It's awfully presumptive to assume that people find Liliana threatening because they have no personal experience with people like her; often, it's because they have all too real experience with people like her, and it says something even worse about you if you can say "but you guys, I see me and my family in Liliana" when people are telling you that they see them and their families in Orym. I would not, personally, publicly admit that one's empathy extends to the people who remind you of your family but runs out before it reaches their victims. Nor would I publicly admit that I assume everyone who disagrees with me clearly has never had personal experience with this topic.
I should also note that, as I've noted a number of times before, that these are fictional characters and not real people. Twitter seems to be really fucking bad at grasping that. Like, yes, this is the other thing; I do not think that OP should kill their Confederate flag-toting relative, whereas if Imogen did so to Liliana I'd be like "hell yeah." The former is a real person who I do hope gets deprogrammed, just, you know, maybe adjust those priorities; the latter is a fictional character in a story.

I’m such a big Targ fan but I can not stand most Targ fans because they don’t get it. The valyrians are interesting and cool because they are fucked up. I love the Targaryens because I am a horror and sci-fi fan. Like yeah dragons are cool too but they wouldn’t be nearly as cool if everything surrounding them weren’t horrifying and twisted. I love Dany because she is a flawed and complex character and it is so easy to draw lines through her narrative to understand why she is the way she is and what led her to make different mistakes and how she got to her self delusions. But most Dany fans will call me a Dany hater for being like hey let’s analyze why Dany has never second guessed her decision to kill Mirri even though every other act of violence she’s been directly or indirectly responsible for (ie the crucifixions or Viserys’s death) has weighed on her conscience to some extent despite the fact that Mirri was a slave who was punished for rising up against her master, Drogo. The cognitive dissonance is so interesting and ripe for analysis but I have been accused of only pretending to be a Dany fan for recognizing this. A lot of actual Dany haters churn out way more meaningful Dany metas because most Dany fans are just oh she’s an unambiguous good hero who will be queen and I think that’s so boring
(note I got off my couch in the middle of writing a new chapter to go to my main computer to answer this that's how much you caught my attention)
The thing is, I totally get what you mean. Theres a Targaryean I am sort of like this for in a way. The character himself has been soured by such a deluded and hostile fan base about what is allowed to be said or thought about him, but if it weren't for the way most targ stans are, I would be 1000% more into Rhaegar as a character.
It would never change I think he's a bad person who did monstrous things for questionable if not quite selfish means who I would never support, but I also love Euron Greyjoy who is 100% an irredeemable monster. Rhaegar's entire existence is fasnicating. From the Ghost of High Hart being the reason his parents were married, to his life defining birth right in the middle of the fiery tragedy of Summerhall which effected his life. How such a terrible place was the only place he was every described as being happy in, likely because his existence is tied with great tragedy. How that likely deeply influenced him into buying into the Ghost of High Harts words of the prince that was promised being born from his father and mothers blood line which led to his delusions which ended up negatively impacting every person in his life leading to their deaths including his own. He should be a fascinating character study for me, but the way targ stans talk about him has ruined any chance of discussion because any nuance I could provide is going to be taken as pro Rhaegar talking points.
Same with Valyria in general. The Valyrian people were delusional and terrifying and the world is better off without them, but I love exploring why. I don't hate Targaryeans to hate them, I hate them because they are interesting to hate. They are facsinating because of what makes them horrible. And liking them as characters isn't at all wrong.
Its the lack of willingness to engage with their favourite charatcers greatest flaws and realistic motivations. It's a disconnect. They will push back against every single argument that Dany is a horrible, selfish tyrant possible, and then cite her atrocities as why I'm wrong and it's like..they have bought so much into the propoganda that they have created a false image of this character they supposedly love. Why love a version of a character that you need to bend over backwards to justify is the real version against the facts of the actual story?
They are desperate to look as if their favourite characters make them morally righteous. When liking a morally honourable character does not say anything about you other then what particular character you enjoy more then another. I am not claiming to be better then Rhaegar stans because I love Ned Stark, but they will slander Ned Stark as much as they can to justify why they prefer Rhaegar instead of just admitting they have a preference.
I get accused of being a Sansa hater, because I am both very against jonsa (ship and shippers) and I am very critical of her post season 4 character. But in the books and the first 4 seasons, shes not my favourite but I love her. But because I go against the popular ship and I am critical of her various actions over the course of the different versions of her character, I am seen as a hater. Its the same with Dany and many Targaryeans.
Its either toe the public opinion, or keep them out of your mouth which is insane for a fandom of a story literally built upon the varying complexities of a characters grey areas.
They want asoiaf/got to be way more black and white then it ever has been. Which is such a poor way of interacting with a story you are passionate about.
Dany can be a tyrant and an interesting character. She can be a cruel and selfishly bloodthristy woman and your favourite character. But these stans are allergic to those ideas not being mutually exclusive.
I dont hate targ stans because they are targ stans, I hate targ stans because they will attack any dissenting opinons that do not fall into their perfect protagonist hero image they've conjured up.
But they got nothing on me. I love Euron Greyjoy. The most disgusting monster in the whole series who I also would rather slingshot him into the sun then let him walk around alive in the world. I will never defend his bad choices, and never condemn someone for calling him an immoral monster. His lack of humanity is what makes his choices so interesting.
These targ stans though, could not possibly be strong enough to be the same for even a minute for their favourite Targaryean.

One thing this situation makes me want to critique is how in general when ccs are called out and apologize there is always express criticism about those who do not like the apology. This is not to say everyone who dislikes an apology is reasonable always 1000% of the time obviously but what I am saying we need to stop having celebrities and ccs just apologizing being enough because as repeated behavior comes out its always "erm well they apologized in the past!" As if that just apologizing in itself is enough and thst the content of the words doesn't matter at all.
Content of an apology does in fact matter. Between not being able to say "hey I did x action and it was wrong" and instead saying "I did some meh accidental vague stuff I won't say. Sorry you were offended" 1000% makes a difference and one of which is a terrible apology. It happened in the past is a common excuse people use for things and I'm also sick of that. Firstly 2-3 years ago isn't a long time ago and secondly "erm the early 2000s bigotry was normalized" or "insert year insert action was normalized" isn't isn't excuse either. Harm is and was never okay and it did and always still does cause harm. Just because it was "normalized" and people got away with harn does not mean that harm was just like alright to do 😭. We cannot keep allowing harm to happen just for 5 years later to go "welp it was okay then so no one can be held accountable" as a means of you ignoring the uncomfortability you have with holding people and yourself accountable for those actions. It isn't t9 say time cannot be a factor in showing the length of someone's effort to become a better person and grow on fact I think that time can be really valuable and i believe in growth.
Lastly I feel like with cc and celebrities there's an expectation for forgive them amongst fans. You're either a fan thst defends them or you're an anti that hates them. You can't of course be a fan that critiques them or any other gray area because to be a fan or supporter of their art or adjacent projects you have to in fact forgive them even if they harmed you. They're of course Owed this because Applogy was made regardless of how bad the apology was. And that's bullshit.
And again this is not to say I think we should go far in the other direction and doxx every celebrity and cc and hope we find something that clearly is fucked up and terrible and it's not to say people can't be unreasonable in their expectations of the person they follow for content (often people are unreasonable a lot). It's to say that apologies are much more than just doing it and people are allowed to be harmed by past and current behavior and are allowed to want accountability for that and are allowed to critique an apology and not want to support them. The end.

With regards to your most recent post: I would like to once again offer my condolences. That said, I have to ask: What is the 𝘙𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢 contest and why is it a shitshow?
Thank you.
So, since I have been informed that the person who made the initial exposés on TokyoPop's shady dealings and kneecapping of the western comic industry turned out to be... Not great at best and someone who loves hurling around false accusations that can ruin people's lives at worst, I will summarize the situation in my own words.
TokyoPop: one of the major companies in the initial 'Anime/Manga Boom' of the early 2000s due to their publishing a vast array of manga and even sticking to the original right-to-left reading format to save money at the printers give a more authentic reading experience.
Anywho, when you have money to burn and see no issues with how you run your company but you want to keep the cash-cow milking, what do you do? Stretch your reach into more manga and stories that have yet to make it to American shores? Or... start creating your own manga? TokyoPop, of course, chose the latter.
So the initial run of what they called the Rising Stars of Manga contest ran as follows: hopeful artists would send in 15-25 pages of their original idea for a manga. These submissions would then be collected and those that 'won' would be published and sold in an anthology where the major winners would get either $2500 -> $1000 -> $500 (depending on where you placed) and the first place winner would get the CHANCE to pitch their idea to TokyoPop for a full-release manga.
Now, as you can probably tell with the current artist economy, $2500 isn't... much for competent art, let alone with comic rates involved.
But TokyoPop knew how to prey upon young, naive, desperate artists when it comes to a medium they love so much.
Considering how the first winner of this contest was a series called Devil's Candy which, while still popular today, was never actually published by TokyoPop because the creators read the contract, went
Tumblr media
And dipped, that is foreshadowing on how things would eventually bloom.
So the few artists who did get published by TokyoPop via their involvement with the Rising Stars of Manga contest would go on to report
terrible contracts
lazy or downright malicious editors
TokyoPop refusing to advertise their manga to the point that they could cite 'low sales' and cancel them mid-volume (sounds familiar, doesn't it?)
TokyoPop refusing to advertise any English-original manga that wasn't Princess Ai, the English-original manga that wasn't even involved in Rising Stars but was the love-child of the CEO of TokyoPop and Courtney Love (yes, THAT Courtney Love)
Manga getting canceled before they can even be published due to arbritrary reasons ('Your cover art is too risque!' 'Um, okay... I can create a new cover so we can publish this story that you guys already agreed to sell' '...No.')
Listing a manga as 'canceled' when it was really just 'delayed' due to TokyoPop trying to browbeat a Rising Stars artist who had been brought on to make an English-original manga that would span nine volumes to shorten it to three...
So. Much. Bullshit.
But. But! All of that up there? Didn't even touch upon the elephant in the room that was one of the major reasons why Rising Stars of Manga and its spiritual successor The Manga Pilot Program were so reviled by the Western comic industry.
Because, in order to get published with TokyoPop, even if they were the ones to seek you out (like they swept in and grabbed so many young, naive artists from SCAD that the school had to legally tell them 'Hey, fuck off'), you had to sign away 50% of your rights to whatever you created. By the time TokyoPop had shifted to the Manga Pilot Program, they started saying that artists would have to sign over their 'Moral Rights'. Which was their fancy (apparently French-in-origin) way of saying 'you will own nothing and you will be happy!'
Um... So... Guess what happened to the vast majority of these stories when TokyoPop went under the first time? Beep-Boop, your work is now in limbo and the CEO of TokyoPop is a dicknozzle who refuses to negotiate with you for your rights back and will vaguepost about you on Twitter like 'I don't know why none of these artists want to negotiate~ My doors are wide open~'
That is TokyoPop's legacy. And the fact that not only does it look like the CEO learned nothing or refused to eat any of the humble pie that his company being delegated to publishing teeny-bop Disney tie-in manga for years would bring, but they want to repeat the same mistakes of the Rising Stars and Manga Pilot Program but worse? Because, I looked at the email they sent out announcing it, and now the potential prize has been kneecapped down to 'up to $1000 and a free flight voucher with JetBlue'.
Yeah, I just... Something something -- the definition of insanity.

Judges 1:1-2:9, Luke 21:29-22:13, Psalms 90:1-91:16, Proverbs 13:24-25
Today is the 23rd day of April. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian. It is always, every day, a pleasure to be here with you around the global campfire taking the next step forward as we continue our journey through the Scriptures. And we finished the book of Joshua yesterday, which brings us to the book of Judges, which is what comes next after Joshua, but it's very different than either Joshua or Moses leadership.
Introduction to the book of Judges:
The book of Judges will lead us all the way to the times of the kings of the monarchy and that's where we'll be by the time we finish Judges. So, this book, Judges, traditionally was authored by the prophet Samuel. Many modern scholars don't really feel that he could have been the sole author of the book. They believe that many sources were drawn together because the book of Judges covers many generations with Samuel being the final judge. So, it makes sense that he would be involved in recounting Judges. And it’s a good time to point out that Judges isn't…like…it's mission isn't to talk about judgments, it's not the book of judgment, it's the book of Judges and the Judges were the people who were the leaders after Joshua. And, so, we’ll find that the time after Joshua, during the time of the judges, is a bit more somber than in the time of Joshua with all the drama and conquest. Judges is what comes next and we’re about to watch the children of Israel as they fall away and walk away from their covenantal relationship with God and suffer some of the consequences of that back-and-forth that becomes their story. So, in this book we will encounter 13 judges that led the children of Israel after Joshua. They didn’t have a king yet, as we’ve mentioned. And, so, they were the rulers. And the culminating story in the book of Judges illustrates how one thing builds on another, every decision bearing weight on a greater outcome and how little subtle decisions by seemingly unrelated and relatively unimportant people ended up bringing on the terrible annihilation of an entire tribe of Israel. So, the book of Judges was probably written somewhere around 1000 BC. So, it's obviously several thousand years ago, but ironically, we shouldn't have much of a problem finding ourselves in this book. It will resonate with all of our stories. We've all had the back-and-forth in our relationship with God. We've all been able to experience the joy of intimacy with God but some of the repercussions of allowing that relationship to falter and us willingly walk away from it. And at the same time, God doesn't ever not have His arms outstretched toward us asking us to come home. His words are never not return to me, come back. And, so, with that we begin. We’re reading from the English Standard version this week. Judges chapter 1 verse 1 through 2 verse 9.
Prayer:
Father, we thank You for Your word, we thank You that as we continue through this week and moving our way day by day towards another month that You have been faithful to us every day and You have spoken to us in many deep ways and You are transforming us from within, from the inside outward and we thank You for that. And as we move into the book of Judges and we begin to see what comes next we ask, Holy Spirit, that You begin to help us see ourselves in these stories because we’ve watched the generations rise up and finally be able to go into the promised land and we will certainly see how the cultures all around them do in fact become a snare to them and what happens next. And, so, Father, You have brought us on this path and we have seen much. We don't want to go on that path anymore, the path that will lead us away from You, and we’ll see us walking away from You even as You're standing there with Your arms out saying, “don't do this.” We have done that many times. And, so, now as we enter into this territory in the Bible where we can see this happening to a whole people we ask that You make our own story clear to us. Come Holy Spirit we pray. In Jesus’ name we ask. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:
Good morning family. It’s Mary Lynn from New Brunswick. It’s my first time calling on my mobile phone so…on my mobile device in the car so I apologize if it’s hard to hear me. I’m calling today to thank Lee. Lee, oh my goodness, your prayers for sloth, for procrastination. And basically, what I’m hearing is disobedience of any sort has really hit home this week. Our church also had a special event this past week and it was a prayer and worship night on Sunday night for the community to get together and believer miracles. Specifically praying for actual biblical type miracles and we were praying and worshiping, and it was an amazing night. And something strange happened to me that I, of course, did not obey and I procrastinated. I allowed to sloth to get the best of me. There were two young ladies sitting next to me in the front row, both in wheelchairs, and as we were praying I just felt almost unable to control myself by reaching over and touching one of the ladies and asking God to heal her and I fought a desperate like you would not believe, I refused to do it. I let sloth win and it has been on my heart and mind all week and I have repented, and I am continuing to repent, especially whether or not I should actually confess to one of my pastors and talk to them about it. But I’m telling you, you really hit home boy. Thank you for everything you’ve contributed, and I will call back again and let you know what’s going on. Thank you. God bless family. Bye.
Hi my names Kevin, I’m calling from Arkansas. I just heard Dawn Perry, she wanted prayer for her son Tyler. I can relate to that, I’ve been through that and I just know that God can heal and touch his mind and also Johnny from Colorado. I want to pray for his friend Nick that he was so sensitive to call in and just really caring young man, I believe junior high. So, I’m gonna be praying for both these with you. All, pray with me. Dear Jesus we just thank You for this beautiful day, thank You for Daily Audio Bible, thank You for Brian and Jill and all the staff Lord that go into making this possible Lord, that we can just pray over the airwaves Lord and that You hear…and that You hear our prayers and that You answer our prayers. Lord I just pray for Dawn and her son Tyler Lord, that he will just start taking his meds Lord, that he will get back on track Lord, we’re just believing for total healing, that he can be a productive Young man and have a really good future Lord, we just thank You for that. We thank You for Johnny Lord calling in for his friend Nick Father, that he’s just such a caring Young man and he’s been there Lord, so he knows, knows that we can comfort others in areas we’ve been comforted Lord. So, just pray for Nick Lord that he gets in the right foster home or that You just work his family situation out Lord, just work a miracle Lord, that he can just enjoy his Young years Lord and just grow up to be a godly man. We thank You for that and thank You for all Your blessings. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Love all you guys at DAB. I pray for all of you every day. I don’t call in very often but love you and have a great day. Bye-bye.
Hi DAB prayer partners this is Rob Still worship dude in Nashville Tennessee or as we like to say, worship city. Hey, I wanted to ask you guys if you would please pray for me on my next missions trip. As I’m calling it’s Thursday, April 18th. I’m leaving on the 24th. Yeah, that’s when I fly out and I will be ministering in Eastern Europe for almost a month and I would really appreciate your prayers. I’ll be in Czech Republic and then Austria and then Ukraine on three very different projects. Anyway, and if you could also please pray for my wife. Her father passed away about eight weeks ago and she’s gonna be working on settling the estate and things like that. So, anyway I love you guys. I appreciate your prayer support. The Lord be with you.
Hello this is Lisa from San Jose California, first-time caller, been listening since the middle of February. What a wonderful gift this Daily Audio Bible is to me. My husband and I have been going through a lot of things. He’s got cancer for the fourth time. He’s going off to a conference this weekend for healing. Please pray for him. There’s an evil spirit on him causing this illness. We pray that they will be a broken off this weekend completely. And then me, I have all kinds of physical problems…undiagnosed…as I can’t breathe. Anyway, I just am reaching out to Jesus every day and I know that He strengthens me to get through everything. So, if you could please pray for deliverance for both my husband and I, Lisa and Craig Smith, thank you very much. Talk to you next time.
