RDA Corporate Politics

Brianne’s decision-making is fueled by corporate politics. She bills herself as SciOps' advocate in what is essentially her job as the mediator between the RDA’s needs and her researcher’s needs. Since SciOps is the lowest-funded subdivision in the RDA's operation, making the wants and safety of her researchers the top priority is easier said than done. She is constantly grappling with the budget and a need to wrangle support from the board. 

A decision-making example is as follows: if a lab is not hitting projected deadlines, they face the threat of termination. She strives to give them more time to produce results within reason. For instance, Dr. Nicholls’ experiments in animal conditioning are on the chopping block because they continually fail to show the ability to train Pandoran wildlife. Nicholls makes a case that they need repetition. Weighing the potential "profit" of a positive result, Brianne might grant the requested three-month extension of Nicholls’ deadline before disassembling their lab.

Brianne is cautiously critical of SecOps, being hyper-aware of the bad blood between the two sectors from the first tour to not overstep. It doesn’t help that many defectors to the Resistance come from her own sector. One way she protests SecOps meddling is by focusing support (and budget) on projects seeking to terraform Pandora for human colonization over military might. For instance, research on habitat building and protein synthesis for food consumption. Her support of Dr. Garvin's oceanographic research (which discovered amrita) is one such program. This is harder to do when SecOps takes control of Bridgehead and the war intensifies. As her budget dwindles, she lets her disgruntlement be more known.

And despite her discomfort, she signed a contract allowing her memory and personality to be recorded to pair with a genetic hybrid clone/avatar to forge future phases of the recombinant project. The political statement on her part is to move genetic advancements away from being in the sole hands of the security sector (as it is with Project Phoenix).

As you spin the empty bottle you look around the circle and feel your hands beginning to sweat. A chorus of ‘ooo’ can be heard as you look up and find Kirishima beginning to stand. Grabbing his hand you stand and follow him to the coat closet found at the front of the dorm.

The space in the closet got smaller with how big the sturdy hero had gotten compared to the first year of high school. Each year that you grew alongside all of your classmates there was always an invisible line that was drawn between you and Eijiro made by the feelings you’ve never spoken about.

“You know we don’t have to do anything right, I'm happy just sitting here with you.” even in the dim light of the closet you can see the blush on his cheeks.

Your own cheeks burn with embarrassment, both your chests are touching and every exhale can be felt on the others lips.

“But what if I told you I want to?” Your hands snaked their way up his chest and over his shoulders to clasp together around the back of his neck.

“Then I guess I’d say good, cause I've been thinking about kissing you for god knows how long.” 

You could feel his lips brushing against yours as one of his hands made a claim on your waist while the other rubbed up and down your side.

“Kiss me.”

Your plea was met by the softness of his lips touching yours in a passionate and sensual kiss. Sparks tingle throughout your body as the kiss went on and his hands ran along your curves. His tongue poked at your lips as you tilted your head, parting your lips slightly you swirl your tongue against his. You could vaguely taste the coke and candy he had earlier as your hands caressed his muscles as he started pushing you against the wall in a desperate attempt to get closer only made you begin to run your hands through his hair to tug at the ends. As the kiss goes on his lips travel further down to your neck where you feel his teeth begin to nip at the skin

“Times up love birds!” The pink girl yells through the door

You go to lick them out of habit and he takes his chance. The kiss is soft, almost hesitant giving you enough room to back away. In the three months that you’ve agreed to be friends with benefits with the electric boy you’ve never kissed. The deal was stress relief, as third years the amount of pressure was rising as graduation grew closer. Hand jobs, and oral was the most either of you have done with the other. But today something was off, it was different; the feeling of his hands groping your cloth covered breast as you pulled him in closer by the back of his neck was more urgent. His body pushing you down on the bed as he unbuttoned your uniform shirt was rushed while he licked and sucked on your bottom lip. “Yeah but at least we can still do these stupid reruns every now and then, I like how chill it is with you.”

The room was quiet save for the tv in the background, his fingers just barely touching your arm put your nerves on high alert. The tension between you and Hanta has been palpable since your second year at UA, and for some reason the consequences of kissing him don’t seem so bad tonight.

His eyes went back and forth between your eyes and your lips, the blush rising on your face did nothing to stop him from smirking before he lent in pressing his lips against yours.

“God you’re so fucking pretty.” His kiss was intense and passionate, it felt like everything he never had the chance to say was coming out through the dance between your mouths.

Soon his tongue started sliding along your bottom lip, parting your lips you let him in as he pushed you down the sofa. The taste of his drink pulling you in as his tongue danced with yours sensually. His hands wrapping themselves around your waist and breasts holding, caressing and massaging as his hips ground against yours. as someone wit cancer (posting this anonymously because some ppl on the internet hear this and go fucking crazy) I’ve always found John Constantine is actually a really interesting rep In theory. I do think Delano like most things fumbles the bag when it comes to that topic but… it’s Delano what do you expect. I really like timelines where John gets treatment before it’s terminal (though usually that very idea seems out of character) or something it’s such a comfort hc. sorry for rambling. I was wondering how YOU interpreted johns cancer storylines as the John Constantine guy.

i’ll put this under a read more because i realized how long this is, but i hope it helps answer your question!

but as the john constantine girlie, it’s always been such an incredibly interesting plotline to me. he does take drastic measures to cure himself in the main vertigo timeline, and his interactions with other cancer patients and then realizing that this thing is terminal… it was intriguing. because it’s john. how he handles things is so much different than how others will. you’re never going to get the logical answer- “maybe he’ll get treatment.” “maybe he’ll go find healing magics that could help him.” “maybe he’ll go spend more time with his loved ones.” this is how most people would think to act. I can’t imagine what it’s like to have cancer, but if it were me, i feel like i’d be angry to be living on a timer, so i’d probably check a few things off my bucket list out of spite. not john constantine, though. instead he threatens a war in hell over his soul so everyone has to cure him.

john smokes cigarettes. we all know this to be a fact. however, he ends up getting terminal lung cancer as a result. it shows a very possible risk that most people aren’t willing to acknowledge until it’s too late.

i haven’t spoken to my mother in forever because our relationship was never good ( can’t you see why i like john constantine now? ), but in a way, it reminded me of her. she was a heavy smoker, and i, as a child who sometimes went over to her house begrudgingly, would be caught up in second hand smoke. as a result, these sorts of things were big worries of mine, and yet every time i told her she can’t do things like smoke inside the house and such, she’d just do it anyway. which put everyone at risk.

while, of course, cancer isn’t always caused by smoking, it can be, and she never took it seriously, not even when she was coughing badly and it was clearly dangerous for her health anyway. I don’t think she ever will.

within john’s character, though, we know he clearly didn’t care much. of course, he didn’t want to die because he knew he was going straight to hell at the time. so he concocted his little plan and ended up curing himself of cancer and not dying as a result… and then continuing with the bad habit. he’s a comic book character, so i guess it’s different, but i think it kind of sent the wrong message.

after a tale of john being distressed about having cancer and having to say goodbye to the people he cared about, or john meeting others who had cancer and being affected by the loss of someone who had died as a result of it, i think some expected him to put down the cigarettes. but alas, john has never been the kind of person to make good decisions.

so when i see him doing the smart thing in some storylines or aus that people write and so forth, i’m always stunned. like good on him, of course, handling his shit before it gets worse, but john has always liked to be a pain in the ass and wait until the worst possible moment. like the exact day he’s supposed to die for example. though i do enjoy these more, because it sends the right message…. john isn’t the kind of character you look to to give you the right message in most aspects. his political beliefs are good, but everything else is a dumpster fire.

but in my opinion, john constantine is a character- one of a rare few- who has cancer. there’s a described time of his struggles with it, some depression from it, the loss of someone he’d met who had it, and that was a journey. but then, in true john constantine fashion, the cornered rat idea he has, he cures himself of it- or, well, more forces some other beings to cure him of it, but hey.

Even during, before, and after being a V.I.L.E. agent, He is always and forever will not like it when he's in a crowded space or having to talk to a lot of people since I hc him always having low social battery left

I'd like to think he does not have a specific music genre since he likes every one of them, even country music itself. Although, he does tend to start getting bored at classical music because Antonio always plays songs like those on repeat

I definitely see that both Jean-Paul and Antonio got separate gifts for each other, Him buying stealing flowers from a gift shop while Antonio bought him a chocolate in a red heart-shaped box, after a caper during Valentine's day (IT'S CHEESY AND I LOVE IT)

Antonio and him both confessed to each other at the same time after a caper when they were both assigned to one, which ends up with them returning to the island in a long and awkward silence before Jean-Paul managed to push up a conversation on talking about their boundaries since they're boyfriends now

Truth be told, he will absolutely NOT hold back in a fight. To him, a fight is a war. He does not care if it will reveal him being an agent since V.I.L.E. cleans up most of his records as long as he gives them what they wanted.

Like Antonio, he's not as close as he was before with the others in the friend group but he does still treat them like acquaintances

He's good with kids, he just panics a lot when a child cries and ends up being clumsy as he tries to calm them down. He also most definitely is the one checking the labels if it's safe for the child to eat something

He's a great cook, even greater than Antonio but he absolutely loves it when Antonio cooks instead because everything he makes is delicious (and also because he finds Antonio's cooking for him as a sign of affection from him which is true nonetheless)

He comes with Antonio when he's about to go to his daily therapy appointments but Antonio always insists on going alone because he doesn't want to bother him having to wait outside (Jean-Paul goes with him in the end because he's stubborn and Antonio knows he can't escape his boyfriend)

During his academy days, Everything seemed so boring to him except Coach Brunt's classes because that's the one class he actually likes (he just wants to fight people without having to face the consequences)

He's allergic to animals with fur (like I said before in Antonio's hc post) so when Antonio got a Sphinx cat, he was very avoidant of it then slowly he started to warm up to it, With him always giving the cat food on time and even buying a bed for it (The cat still ends up sleeping in between Antonio and him in their bed)

Still having his old habits of stealing, He also agreed to have therapy appointments insisted by Antonio. He's pretty much nervous about having to talk about his feelings since he liked it better when he could express them instead of having to talk it off. He is still a nervous wreck even after the appointment was done. Also, he wants a lot of progress already but he could only sigh in frustration since he knows it's best if he takes time (Antonio also comes with him for his appointments)

He's never a morning person, so whenever Antonio wakes him up to start the day on selling on their food truck, He will forever complain in French until he's about to eat Antonio's homemade dish (it feels like heaven for him)

I always have trouble paring myself down to fit into a snappy little bio but here goes: In fandom spaces like this, I'm mostly a cheerleader and sometimes an artist. Queer as in gay but also as in weird but also as in "fuck you." I have too many interests to fit in one post or even one blog, but I especially like spooky things and ghost stories and mysteries and puzzle games. I love music (I make it sometimes! Synopsis: you and the boys getting your nails done

A/N: ok so I’m just gonna say upfront that none of these are gonna be just flat out “they would never get their nails done” cause that’d be boring but I’m gonna include an ✨in-character reason✨ as to why I think they wouldn’t mind getting their nails painted

also, this is my first original post i guess! It’s nice to meet you all! ive been thinking about writing on and off for a while now but I didn’t know where to start. I kinda wrote this on a whim after getting my nails done. send in any requests or ideas so I can get my acc rolling :D

I was going to do Venti and Xiao too but I got bored so I’ll add them in a separate post if people want

Diluc

Ok so first and foremost is my beloved

If you enjoy getting your nails done he absolutely doesn’t mind taking you every few weeks or so.

Just because he isn’t exactly one to indulge himself in luxury doesn’t mean he feels like his lover shouldn’t either!

If it’s what you want then he’ll more than happily oblige

shameless self indulgence.. i just want to be spoiled by diluc

on some occasions when he’s able to make it to the salon with you, he’ll also get a manicure

some people might say “diluc would never get a manicure because he doesn’t care about his appearance!”

but i think it’s more like this: he gets manicures because he doesn’t care what other people think about his appearance

he cares more about comfort and practicality than fashion or looks

getting someone else to keep his nails trimmed and clean is more practical than trying to keep up with them himself

and damn is that massage chair comfortable

(whatever you do don’t imagine diluc laid back enjoying his massage chair with his eyes closed as he’s getting his nails filed.. the sigh of relief that would leave this man after weeks of stress have built up and he’s finally able to just relax with his s/o)

and it’s an excuse to spend time with you outside of his busy schedule

probably doesn’t ever get color.. i think he’ll stick to clear polish

maybe if you beg him enough he might get one or two of his nails painted to match whatever you get

but only if he likes whatever color you picked out

i feel like he’s not necessarily ashamed of having them painted or anything

because again, diluc really could not care less what other people think of him

it’s just not practical to have like hot pink nails or something. makes it hard to blend in to the darkness, as is necessary to attend to his nighttime duties

now that I’ve made it a point to say Diluc doesn’t care what people think:

he’d absolutely die if he ever ran into Kaeya or Jean or anyone he knew there

would def try to cover it up with indifference though

“(Y/N) and I come here often to keep our nails from getting damaged. There’s nothing strange about that.”

that won’t stop him from coming back again with you in a few weeks though

ok so Kaeya def gets his nails done on the regular. he probably has a schedule

like he’s going every 4 weeks on the dot with or without you

hates when his nails get long and start chipping or breaking

which is why he’s so uptight about his nail maintenance

so if you wanna go with him you better clear your schedule for whatever time and day he chooses cause he’s not taking any rain checks

also just gets clear polish most of the time

with that being said, I don’t think he’s above trying a new color every so often

the occasional blue, black, other neutrals or maybe even a silver if he’s feeling extra adventurous

keeps his nails short like Diluc, doesn’t get acrylics or anything super fancy

partially because long nails get in the way of his work

also i hc he used to bite his nails as a nervous habit when he was younger totally not projecting

(which is why he’s so serious about his nail salon schedule, having long/broken nails really makes the urge to bite them come back)

def knows his nail techs well. they all adore him

has his one “go to” nail tech who he gossips with

knows like all their life stories too? he’ll tell you afterward like “oh your nail tech is the one whose husband tried to leave her for another girl. she was telling me about how his mom called her and snitched on him-“

kaeya where do you find the brain capacity to store all this random trivia about people’s personal lives

Childe

loves going to the salon with you

he gets matching nail polish colors he’s not ashamed

for the same reason that he’d keep the polish on whenever Tonia or Teucer wanted to paint his nails

his adoration for you outshines whatever embarrassment he might’ve felt otherwise

if people ask him about his nails he’ll excitedly tell them about how he went to the salon with his s/o

and an excuse to tell anyone about his amazing s/o is a win in his book

also, loves the little reminder of you when he can’t be with you

he’s just out taking care of his own business and he catches sight of his nails and thinks of you <3

always pays for both of you of course. i’d expect nothing less from the ginger

it doesn’t matter if you get every service offered and the total ends up being crazy expensive

don’t even worry about it he’s already got his wallet ready 😌

the people at the salon love him because he gives like 40% tips

gets designs sometimes.. just little things he thinks are cool.

imagine him getting a little whale on his ring finger or smth

also probably got googly eyes or something once because he thought it was funny

most of the time he just sticks to basic colors because adding extra things gets old fast, and makes his gloves uncomfy

his fav colors to get are red and white

and white because it reminds him of the snow in Snezhnaya :D

def takes you to fancy salons where they offer you wine and give you massages complimentary with your manicure

gets really upset when his nails chip. godspeed to the poor treasure hoarder he was sparring with who just accidentally knocked Childe’s hand in the wrong way

comes home and is immediately like “(Y/N) we need to make another appointment to get our nails redone! mine got messed up at work :( ”

I truly feel like they’re a pro at getting you to fall asleep though, not even so they can stay up they just are so good at soothing you

That one spot in between your shoulders thats always sore? They’re hands find it without you even having to mention

The way you have to cuddle laying on your right side and your left? They’re already adjusting themselves on the couch so that can happen

The way you like kisses on the top of your head but not your temple? Check ✅ they’re fingers are resting at your temple to remind them it���s always the top of your head -as if they’d forget-

Expanding on this, they’re just so good at remembering details about you in general???

And of course some of it is the basics like your favorite snack, your favorite candle, the current show your binging, the laundry detergent you always buy, etc.

But some of it you wouldn’t have even asked them to remember?? Like it gets more and more obscure the longer you’re together

Like how you wouldn’t like the leather seats in their car, which you mention once cause the skin on your legs were sticking to them in the summer

And then they’re in the market looking for a new car and this one doesn’t have leather seats, which to yourself you’re like oh cool :)

But then they just bring it up while you’re driving with them one day like

“Isn’t it nice that now when you wear shorts your legs don’t stick? I tried keeping that in mind for you, babe.”

And it’s just??? You’re almost questioning how they even KNOW that until they tell you about the one ☝🏼 time you mentioned it and it was at least a couple years ago and it’s just??? Thank you?!?

But yes, anything you do Hange WILL remember it for better or for worse cause they just see it as a part of getting to know you and love the person you are!

And they’d just go back to ranting but this time they have so much more energy being focused into you rather than combusting out of them

Their eyes are locked onto yours so hard, no longer darting all over the room while they speak

Their hands moving yours only a little, swinging them up and down, squeezing them when they get particularly excited

Their voice is more hushed and deep, their words shooting sharply at you with an intensity vibrating off them making your cheeks burn

Now, when something would normally result in a flying fork, instead it’s a tug on your hands to bring you closer while their voice gets heavier and quiet - almost a whisper - sharing this moment with you and ending it with raised eyebrows and a squeal - sometimes even shaking your arms about if it’s especially exciting news

Speaking of ranting, when you rant you better expect Hange to get JUST as involved as you

You’re frustrated? Yeah Hange is getting heated too, riling you up in the process, it’s their problem now too

You’re happy? Hange is squealing and jumping up and down with you as if they got the promotion ajakskajaja

I feel like the only exception to this would be if you were stressed, upset, or sad

They’re immediately quiet and looking all over your face for any sign of distress with the most sincere eyes

Nodding and responding with little hums of understanding, ready to scoop you into their arms the moment you need them too

The RULER of taking care of their s/o when they’re down or sick

Not only cause they know everything there is to know about your existence lmao

But cause I think they’re smart enough to be able to not be over bearing when they’re taking care of you

more harry and neville (+ teddy) headcanons cause I'm way too soft for them

a plus to this post of mine

at 20 years old, when they tell people they're together, they're met with multiple chorus of "what do you mean you're only dating now? we thought you guys had been together for the past two years"

in everyone's defence, they were 100% the kind of friends that are so close you think they're a couple

like, neville would wear harry's jersey during quidditch matches in 8th year. multiple times, ron woke up in the morning and freaked out because harry's and neville's beds were empty, only to run down the stairs and find them passed out on top of each other in the common room sofa after spending all night talking. they were constantly hugging and cuddling and kissing each other's cheeks and foreheads and hands. also, they moved into a cottage in the middle of nowhere together

so I guess it was pretty easy for their friends and families to Assume

harry gives grimmauld place a drastic reform and turns it into an institution where children with abusive households and werewolves with nowhere to go can live and/or transform safely. apart from being a home, the place also works as a mental health clinic and offers a stock of wolfsbane potion, and the inhabitants have free access to both. a big part of harry's and neville's money goes to maintaining this

neville loves dancing and can play the piano. harry can't move his hips to save his life and can only barely play the guitar. they still manage to sway around lazily to songs and sing cheesy duets though

they both have tattoos, both magical and muggle, but harry has a lot more

they almost never call each other by the name, it's always "haz" and "nev". because of that, teddy starts calling them "hazzy" and "nevvy" once he learns to talk and never loses the habit, even as an adult

the two of them and andy make sure teddy knows as much about remus and tonks as he can, and don't intend to replace them, but everyone knows that when he says "my parents" instead of "mom and dad" he's referring to harry and neville

to teddy, andromeda is "grandma" (because it has "ma" in it and she was one of the people who raised him and he does see her as a parental figure), molly is "granny" (because it ends in "y" like her name) and augusta is "gran" (because that's what neville called her). don't judge the reasons, he was 5 at the time he came up with these and they just stuck

teddy gets too agitated to sleep when it's a full moon, so harry and neville take him on midnight trips on the lands around the cottage. by the time he's a teenager and allowed to go alone, teddy puts on headphones and walks those hills, forest and river like second nature

after neville casually proposes while watching a movie in their living room sofa, he runs to their bedroom and comes back with the longbottom family ring. it was tradition for it to be given as an engagement gift, so neville slips it to harry's right hand just as frank did to alice twenty five years before

when they go to st. mungos to tell neville's parents they were getting married, alice gives harry a gum wrapper

when they tell augusta, she smiles, pets harry's cheek and says "welcome to the family". everyone was shocked at the scene and to this day the woman denies it ever happened

minerva walks harry down the isle

they have their names hyphenated as Potter-Longbottom but use only their own as professors

when harry is having a bad day, he lays his head on neville's chest and asks him to read anything aloud just so he can listen to his voice

when neville is having a bad day, he wears one of harry's shirts and rewatches a comfort movie. harry makes him tea, cuddles close on the sofa and watches it with him every time

neville speaks fluent french. sometimes him and teddy will only speak french with each other all day just to annoy harry

harry gave teddy his first piercing, at 13, while ignoring neville freaking out about it over his shoulder

both neville and teddy have adhd. harry develops little routines and strategies to make things easier from them on the daily

the weasleys absolutely adore neville. for real. he's ginny's best friend, harry's husband, gentle, kind, friendly and will ramble about plants at any given opportunity, of course molly takes him under her wing the second he steps into the burrow.

teddy's room in the cottage has always looked kind of the same since they moved in when he was 1, he never made any big changes over the years. the walls are yellow and the ceiling is enchanted like the Great Hall at hogwarts to look like it's always a starry night sky

when harry has a nightmare and can't fall back asleep, neville sings to him until he does

when it's neville who can't fall asleep, harry gives him a warm bath with those calming bath bombs luna is always sending them

when neither of them can fall asleep, they lay outside and watch the stars until the sun comes up

feel free to add any other hcs cause I'll stop here before this gets too long. believe me, I have way more where these came from and I'll die on the pottbottom hill

I like the light and dark academia aesthetic cuz I find it very calming. I like singing (I've been told I'm a good singer) and playing the piano (still learning). - Those two were the ones that set you up - training together, sending you on errands and missions…

- However, it took time to get here.

- Yuta never thought of himself as someone worth loving, but when he saw the peaceful and adoring look glowing in your eyes, all his worries and anxiety flew away. The effect you have on him shocked everyone, including the boy himself. He used to be so unsure and shy, but now he became more confident and open.

- You gave him a reason to live again. :)

- If asked what he likes about you, Yuta wouldn’t be able to find his words, since everything you do is perfect to him.

- Maybe it’s your kind and selfless nature. Or the way you never let anyone disrespect your friends or cross the line with you. He likes every little ounce of temper you have. From the carefree, yet thoughtful and observant person, to the explosive and sarcastic sides of you - he loves them all. They were the ones that brought him out of his shell after all.

- Another thing that he loves is how creative you are. He could stay and watch you all day long writing or singing (heavens, he loves when you sing). his room either looks like a bomb went off or it’s perfectly clean and there’s ABSOLUTELY no in between

cause he’s either been too lazy to clean it for the past month or he’s got randomly motivated for no reason and cleaned everything in one afternoon

he has a bad habit of just putting dishes in the sink and never actually washing them

he also just leaves all the stuff he used to cook out constantly cause he’s too excited for the food

he’s somehow both the best AND the worst roommate

like yeah it kinda leaves messes everywhere BUT he also keeps your stuff how you like it and won’t eat your food

overall a bit of a mess but he means well and nothing gets burned or broken (very often)

his birth mom died when he was,,,, 6? and his dad was arrested a couple months later (could’ve been related, could’ve not been, fuck if he knows), so he ended up in the foster system

because of this, he’s always seen his friends as his family cause they’ve been more stable than his home life

when he was 14 or 15 he was taken in and later adopted by the lovely miss medda larkin (along with 16 year old jack kelly and 13 year old charlie ‘crutchie’ morris, not the point)

his idea of family changes a lot after he’s adopted, cause he’s in a healthy, happy, stable home for pretty much the first time in his entire life

he still sees his friend group as his family, too, cause they’re his people and they understand him and they’re all trauma bonded for life

so when him and albert (yes this is ralbert we all know what you expected when you saw my username nobody be surprised) finally get together and are out in the real world living together and graduating college and getting married it’s really nothing new to him cause he’s been forging his own little family for as long as he can remember

whenever he DOES have kids, he makes sure that they get what he never got from the very beginning, cause as much as he loves his family, all of them have been through far too much and he wants to break the cycle

like sure, to most people it just looks like he’s got random shit thrown all over his desk, but to HIM everything’s in its place and he can find everything easily enough

he’s generally tidier than race, but he cleans MUCH less often so if there’s a mess it’s staying there for months

he doesn’t mind doing the dishes but he has never once even LOOKED at a vacuum or duster (he didn’t even know they had any in the apartment til race was cleaning the sitting area when he got back from class one day)

he’s the type of roommate that prefers going shopping together so that there’s not really any “off limit” foods cause you bought it all at the same time but he’ll respect the ‘this is mine’ notes if they’re there

shouldn’t be allowed to cook cause he burns shit CONSTANTLY. they have a stool against the wall under the fire alarm cause albert sets it off like once a week and it’s not worth the effort of dragging a chair over

i feel the need to state that albert (just like pretty much all the newsies, it’s just a thing babe) also has a very found family vibe but it’s different to how race’s found family works so ✨here we go✨

his mom died when he was 11, and his dad, who had always been a bit of a drunk, started drinking even more heavily after her passing

al has 2 significantly older brothers - the oldest moved out when he was 10, and both were out of the house by the time he was 12

the abuse started when he was 14. his dad lost his job and the drinking escalated even more, and he started taking his anger out on albert - especially now that there was nobody around to protect him

albert didn’t talk about it for over a year, but eventually it got so bad he was visibly busted up one day at school and his friends noticed. he was dismissive about it at first, then angry and defensive when they kept pushing out of worry

a couple days later it got even worse, and he snuck out his bedroom window and ran away. he showed up on medda’s doorstep at,,,, 3am? 4am? crying and bloody and asking for help. from there, medda got in contact with his maternal aunt that lived in the city and he lived with her until he went off to college

the abuse, coupled with the fact that his brothers had both seen what was happening but did NOTHING to help him out of fear, changed the fundamentals of how he viewed family

his main support was race, as well as medda considering she was the one that helped him get out of the situation, and he was close with his aunt for the rest of his life. she was young and ill-equipped to deal with a teenage boy, let alone a traumatized one, but they learned together and figured it out as they went.

his childhood was normal, for the most part (other than random bouts of shouting matches between his parents and drunken rages from his dad, but those were inconsistent at their worst), until the death of his mother, but he still wants to ensure he never makes his kids feel as helpless as he did

aka ralbert working together to make sure they break the cycle and create a healthy, happy environment for their kids, AND that they support eachother whenever life gets rough :))))))

How does Zevran feel about his identity as a Dalish (or not, as the case may be)? Does he struggle with the diaspora? Does that change after meeting your warden? Do they ever try and find his family? Does your Warden also struggle with their identity, or belonging?

Admiration “We all have our reasons for doing what we do. Mine happen to come with a set of strong hands/lovely eyes.” 

What are the things that Zevran admire about the warden -- both appearance and personality? What first drew his attention? What about the contrary? What is it about Zevran that makes your warden’s heart swell and their undergarments wet?

Thursday, July 2nd  DAY 2: LA PETITE MORT

Death “Oh, I'm not going to die. It's always the Grey Wardens that die. Did you not read stories as a child? The hero always dies.” 

Does the warden sacrifice themselves, do they live to hear the Calling, or do they find the cure and reach old age along with Zev? Who dies first; how? How does the other deal with the grief? Do their friends and family (children?) help them heal?

Weak spots  “Hmm. Now that you mention it, I... I suddenly rather feel like a delicate mushroom…”

What do you HC are Zevran’s weaknesses in bed? What gets him “spilling liquid everywhere” like a delicate mushroom? How does the warden find out about it? What does Zev do that makes the warden weak? Do either of them have an innocuous ‘thing’ that just makes them melt?

Friday, July 3rd "OH MAKER"

Faith “And I ask forgiveness for my sins from the Maker every chance I get.” 

How do you HC Zevran’s relationship to faith, Andrastianism, etc? Does he believe, or is he cynical? Does he hold a grudge against the Maker? Fear Him? Pray to Him? How do his beliefs (or lack thereof) play out next to the Warden’s?

First times “I grew up amongst Antivan whores, men and women both. My introduction to the subject of sex was, shall we say, rather practical.” 

How did Zevran’s first time with the warden go? Were they a virgin, or an experienced lover? Do they stumble trying to find out what the other likes? And how do you HC Zevran’s introduction to sex actually went -- how did it affect him? What about the Warden’s, if Zev was not their first? Do they ever talk about it?

Saturday, July 4th CANDLELIGHT WHISPERS

How long does it take for your Warden and Zevran to trust each other enough to open up? When does Zevran tell them the truth about Rinna, about his pain? How freely does the Warden show him their deeper secrets, wishes and traumas? How do they comfort each other?

Pillow Talk  “You Fereldens are so finicky. How will you ever learn how to pleasure each other unless you talk about it?” 

Was your Warden used to talking about sex at all, or were they a “finicky” Fereldan? How does Zev ease them into it? What are the aspects of sex about which they talk? Are there any incompatibilities between them that they have to work out? Is there anything the Warden (or even Zev) is embarrassed of and takes time to talk about/bring into their sex life?

Tattoo artist Zev -- is it canon in your canon, or was he just messing around with Alistair? Does he ever give your Warden a tattoo? What is it of? How does it go? Who brings it up first?

Kink “Now that I've mentioned tying me up in that context, do we have extra rope about?" 

Zev talks about getting tied up so often it’s hard to choose just one rope quote. Is he thirsty for rope-play/BDSM in your canon? What about your Warden? Do they get kinky in the bedroom? Do they tie Zev up, gag him and spank him, or vice versa? Does it ever end badly by accident? How do they deal with it when elaborate sex takes unwanted turns?

Zevran’s Crow training was no cakewalk, but how do you HC Zevran handles injuries? How does the warden take it when Zev gets badly hurt? Or vice versa? Do Zev or the warden ever get poisoned, seriously ill or have a major brush with death? What of magical injuries? Do they use magic to heal -- if your warden is a mage, is this a comforting ritual for Zev?

Dressing Up (or down 😏 ) “I’ve always removed my clothes strictly on an amateur basis. A talented amateur, but an amateur nonetheless.”

Do you HC Zevran enjoys dressing up for a fancy party, an infiltration job, or even a tumble between the sheets? Has he ever done a strip-tease for the warden or vice versa? ♦ Touko loves to listen metal music, and collecting galaxy-like stuff, like necklaces and notebooks with a galaxy-ish decoration. She’s also very good at solving puzzles and escape rooms-like games. One of her quirks is to drink a cold beer while she’s writing and she’s  ~ in the zone  ~ . It’s not enough alcool to get drunk, but enough to makes her feeling funny and quite happy about what she’s writing. Togami strikes me as someone that likes (and he’s actually good at) playing games like pool and poker. He secretly loves musicals (if someone will asks, he will say that  ~ the classics  ~ are his faves, like Cats, but he’ll probably never admit he was all emotional while watching Rent), and collects and actually makes ships in a bottle. He has also the habit of drinking, tho he prefers wine over beer, except he does it when he’s nervous most of the times. And despite the embarassing stories that came out of this he still pretends he has a very good tolerance for alcol (spoiler: not really).

☾ Touko usually sleeps in a fetal position with the blanket wrapped around her as much as she can, sometimes hugging her pillow. After she and Byakuya started dating and sleeping together, he became her pillow. Togami is a messy sleeper. There is this very old doujin on pixiv, made for Togami and Twogam’si birthday, where they sleep in the same room and you can see Togs being a mess, snoring and mooving around. I LOVED that panel and made that headcanon mine. Once he and Touko started dating and sleeping together, he slowly stopped moving so much and shifting toward bear-hugging Touko. She never complained, of course. He absolutely refuse to admit he snores, tho.

♥ Touko often says she want to have kids with Byakuya in canon, only to call the Warriors “brats” (i mean, they kinda are at first). I always thought that it would take her some times before really understanding that her desire to have a family is a genuine one, and not because she had a hell of a childood and having her own family would be a way to “cope” with that. Once she and Togami would be in a relationship for a while, i can imagine her thinking about having kids but not being sure how to face the topic with him. Then, she finally gets pregnant and while she’s scared at what kind of parent she will be (since her parents were shit, to say THE LEAST and never really raised her properly or cared for her existence at all), at the same time she can’t wait to finally held her child in her arms and pours all her love on her kid (say what you want about Touko’s bitter attitude, but i will always beliefe that it hides all her desire to be loved and love in return, and that she can actually be really sweet once you earn her trust). Togami is... scared at the idea to be a father. His family was also a different kind of mess, with Aloyisius being a better fatherly figure than his own father, that was just someone he rarely mey for business issues (afterall, being a Togami is excatly that, a business). He’s scared he will not be able to love or care for the kid, becoming just a copy of his father. Touko tries to reassure him that the fact he’s actually questioning himself is a sign he is already different from his father and that he will chose a different path. While still not really sure about it, Byakuya already starts to prepare himself for the task reading books about childs, parenthood, the birth itself, and being extremely protective towards Touko (i have hcs about her having a quite difficult pregnancy), making even more sure she will eats properly, takes her meds and being always there during medical appointments. He’s usually annoyed when he can’t be there because works or other issues, but he knows Touko will be in good hands (usually Komaru will take his place, or Hiroko). And despite all his fears and doubts... it tooks just one second to fall in love with his baby once nurses gives her to him and the little one wraps her small hand around his finger.

ൠ Touko actually likes to sometimes step out of her romance genre and try to write something completely different, to challenge herself and refining her skills, and avoiding becoming stagnant. In my AUs, she’s always the author of Zero Escape (that there is one of her own novels and not a game) because i live for easter eggs.  ❤  Togami was actually friends with the whole 78 class, before the Tragedy. The famous photos we find during the game are actually a good clue about it: he took the one in the pool, and sure as hell he would have thrown the camera in the water if his attitude at the time was as bad as his DR1 self. I always liked to think he ended up considering them friends and learning to be more lovable (and to love) in the process. And he and Touko started dating while in school, you’ll have to pry this hc from my cold, dead hands.

✿ Touko’s first experiences with s/ex had been... awful, to say the least. Growing up being molested by her father, and who knows what else during school before enrolling at Kibougamine, her idea of s/ex was only hurt and shame and hate. It required her quite a lot of time and therapy to finally accept her traumas and working on it, and finally understand that she doesn’t have to force herself to have sex and enjoying things she doesn’t want to makes Byakuya happy (things he would never do to her, but she just thinks that how things should work). Aside this, she likes to experiments and try new things. She’s mostly submissive, but enjoys to switch every now and then since Byakuya trusts her completely.  Togami’s knowledge of s/ex was very basic until he enrolled at Kibougamine, very “school textboox” like. After all, having sex and ultimately kids it’s just business for a Togami, and he doesn’t need to know anything else about it. But when he finally falls in love with Touko, he discovers in horror that what he knows about s/ex... is not enough. But Touko is more than willing to guide him following his own pace.  ❤ As for after DR3, their s/exual life is super active and kinda varied in what they like to do: he often finds himself discovering new things or kinks he never knew existed, and often is very curious to try. While he is kinda dominant (not a domme, mind you), he enjoys switching roles every now and then. He also discovered he has a things for Touko in high thights and often asks her to wear nothing but those during s/ex, also likes to sends and gets nudes every now and then. (Can you believe i have to censor myself because Tumblr can’t with life?)

he did track in high school for a little bit before starting to play baseball instead, and he was Good at it

he went Hard on studying too, he overcompensated a lot bc he was worried about the first point affecting things. instead it put him at the Top of his class

college gordon is still a Try Hard. he is The Nerd. hes also still pretty active tho, surprisingly, this is a Fit nerd

David Li. he is known colloquially as the Attractive David @ the school. he also has an undeniable crush on one Nerd. unfortunately said nerd is a bit of a social himbo

joshua freeman is the product of a group project turned one night stand, against all odds (testosterone, birth control, etc)

gordon was honestly more amazed by josh’s tenacity than anything and kept him, regardless of davids preferences

davids preference was... neutral? he didnt feel particular either way, and gordon was pretty dead set on like, Treating The Kid Like A Group Project. he’d do all the work because he could do it The Best and didn’t care about the other participants who Wouldn’t Do Anything

david was by no means an absent father unlike gordon thought. like it was Definitely Weird for him, but he helped financially (the best a college kid can) and emotionally

at first gordon is weird about letting Anyone near joshua, postpartum anxiety shit, this includes david. eventually it lets up though

joshua as a whole like, rlly brings gordon and david together, like closer as people. gordon opens up and gets to know david, and david learns about gordon as a person and manages to distance him from like,, Idealized Crush Gordon

the two never get together again, but they end up as rlly rlly close friends, even when they graduate and gordon moves onto postgrad while david starts his own work

david is a general art major, and makes a living as a popular abstract artist, commonly commissioned and Well Off

gordons hard working attitude doesnt let up in post grad, even with an amazing amount of love and attention for josh

david is still active in joshuas life too, he always has been and will continue to be, he’s one of joshuas dads, but gordon is joshua’s Dad if that makes sense

david and gordon also like, regularly hang out and go out for drinks and stuff too. theyre each others oldest friends

when the black mesa incident occurred, with the resonance cascade, joshua was at school

when the school couldn’t contact gordon when joshua needed to go home, they called his emergency contact, notably David Li-Norton (he’s married now)

now joshuas used to sleepovers at david’s house, but this week is way longer than usual, and its Weird

 meanwhile, david and his currently unnamed art history husband, are hearing all this shit about black mesa, the military, an explosion, and david is Afraid

theyre actually... Preparing to tell joshua when david gets a phone call from the hospital

after the party, gordon just collapsed outside the building. it was tommy who actually went “uhhh fuck guys i dont think thats supposed to happen” and got him to the hospital

david, believe it or not, was his emergency contact. if you can willingly trust a guy with your kid, you can trust him with anything

david rushes to the hospital, pretty much In Shock when he sees gordon laying there

gordon doesnt notice him at first bc hes being so quiet, and when he does, he panics at first- raising his missing right arm- before realizing its david and loudly- hoarsely- exclaiming so

his first words to david are along the lines of “you gotta bring me new clothes, my shit got fucked. up.”

then gordon elaborates "They cut the sleeve off my shirt David. My favorite MIT shirt. David, they cut off my MIT shirt sleeve.” and hes slurring from the pain killers he’s on and he looks so so tired and david cant help but laugh and cry at the same time he’s so relieved

gordon seems to have a Habit of saying Weird Things to david in hospitals apparently

david is Pivotal in gordons recovery, taking care of joshua until gordon can walk again and actually take joshua home and everything and its just so so sweet
