Ok. Deep breath. This was it. He had to do this or he'd chicken out.

It started with reviewing and cataloguing all data files in the Nemesis. With Ratchet on Earth, it was up to Arcee and Bumblebee to learn the tagging systems and integrate the Decepticons' information with the Autobots' files. Bumblebee did spent most of the time on the project - unfortunately, he was the most proficient hacker they had at the moment.

That's when he found out about Dreadwing. And Dreadwing knew the truth.

Optimus never corrected Dreadwing's assumption, trying to protect Bee from the wrath of a solo spark-twin. Like the dutiful soldier he was, Bumblebee respected his Prime's wishes.

But Optimus wasn't here anymore and Bumblebee had to fight his own battles.

He brought it up once around Bulkhead and Wheeljack, that despite the circumstances surrounding Skyquake's murder death, he felt like he owed it to Dreadwing to offer the Seeker closure. Bulkhead immediately got concerned and Wheeljack said that there were no innocents in war.

So nobody knew about this little plan. Bumblebee scheduled himself for a routine expedition, noting that he would be evaluating the area between Iacon and Polyhex. They had preliminary observations, but hadn't done a true review of the infrastructure between the two cities. He logged his route, gave his best time estimates, and promised to comm. if something went wrong.

Halfway between the two cities, in the middle of nowhere and joors out from immediate help, Bumblebee opened his frequency and broadcasted his coordinates.

::Dreadwing. This is Bumblebee. I'd like to talk to you. I'll be here.::

The way she said his name was nearly all it took to shake his foundation. It was the start, at least — it startled a rumbling, jitters so intense that he felt them rattling his bones. The layers of affection, understanding and compassion were a blanket that had been wrapped once, twice, three times around him. He was cocooned in her comfort, and all she had to do was speak.

But it was her hands grasping at his that brought the walls down.

Her hands were small compared to his, but the intent within her hold made them feel larger by far. He didn't doubt that she could have wrapped his entirely in her palms with the ease her touch brought him.

Her warmth continued to spread once she tucked herself against him. Without hesitation, he sank into it, massive body curling around her. One arm looped around her shoulders, brought her in even closer to his chest. His heart thrummed against her ear, the rapid tattoo slowing to a dull thump.

Itto didn't speak. Blustering and flaunting his confidence was a defense mechanism, one he didn't have the will to flex at that moment. Instead, he sat there, letting himself gather his breath and take all of her in.

He didn't use words, but his actions would speak for him.

His nails gliding soft along her back, the occasional drag at the ends of her air and the way he squeezed her all voice his thanks. He appreciated her, and he hoped that she knew this despite his lingering quiet.
