" Of Grit "
For the @steddiemicrofic August Prompt: Cake || 311 Words || Rating: G || Warnings: None
Steve vaguely recalls a heated debate, a held hostage remote knocked, and an open window.
One minute: channel surfing. The next: wrestling in the mud behind the Munson trailer.
Neither are winning the tussle. Steve has years of jock tendencies but Eddie’s surprisingly wriggly, his fashion hiding what muscle he maintains. And Steve’s certainly paid attention to Eddie’s… maintenance.
The two have been circling awhile now, mutual interest in pursuing more, obvious. But their competitive natures won out; who would cave first?
Well, Steve doesn’t mind upping the ante.
It’s a move that’s worked with previous partners; precise placement of the hands, plant yourself atop, apply body weight, hold their attention…
Wiping his lips clean, Steve eases in for the kill, slow.
Glance at Eddie's lips.
Back to his eyes.
Lean those final centimeters.
And plant a hard kiss to his nose.
(Snag the remote from Eddie’s loosened grip, mission complete!)
Steve smirks, leaning back, expecting Eddie's reaction. When he only remains frozen, Steve can’t help but pause.
Thankfully, the metalhead comes back into himself, lurching upwards with a mud glob to Steve’s face.
Blinded, all Steve can taste is grime and clay. Defenseless to the sudden, confident press of lips to his own. A kiss of grit, certainty, and relief from month-long tensions.
Steve thinks he's willing to concede this one, the remote snatched and Eddie leaving with a chortle of victory.
He touches his mud and kiss slicked lips. Yeah, he doesn’t mind losing the battle if he wins the war and all that comes after.
—
When Wayne finally returns from his 10-minute lunch fetching, he’s greeted by the boys caked in mud, unable to make eye contact without breaking into giggles.
He’ll be gruff about the mess, but he’s all too happy to send them to clean up if it means Eddie gets more days like this.
#I had to be the adventurer with a machete in the forest to get this thing down from 500 words#it was NOT a pretty process#anyway enjoy two losers finally ending what I think is technically romantic edging#initially i was thinking of making them go to a mud bog or doing something with 'caked in makeup' (in a good way)#but ehh the ideas never went anywhere#steddie#steve harrington#eddie munson#stranger things#my posts#my writing#steddie microfic

Can I request something smutty for Tama Tonga there’s like nothing for him anywhere
A/N: Of Course! I actually just wrote one a couple minutes ago! But I'll write for him! This is a little like, Friends to Lover, where Solo and Y/N are really good friends. Until Tama joins up. They start talking, they start dating, and they take things into the bedroom-
{Warnings: Unprotected Sex, Kissing Making out, Friends To lover, swearing, fem!reader.}
You and Solo were best friends, attached at the fucking hip- you had met in kindergarten and that's where it started.
Through your teen years, Solo introduced you to his various family Members, one of then being Tama Tonga.
You didn't really get to know Tama though, since Solo was pulling you away as soon as you began to speak to Tama.
So after many years, you just simply forgot about Tama.
Going on to become the WWE Women's Champion.
That was a pride to the Bloodline. Until Tama appeared.
You remembered him just off his face, the panic ensued.. it was BackLash-
You went to shoo him off, only for your opponent to go for a pin. Luckily you kicked out.
But this was too risky, your "friend" could cost you the title
And you remember what he said earlier that night... "You lose, I fuck you until you cry. Got it?"
Secretly you wanted to lose, but Tama disappeared to the back again.
You got distracted by Liv Morgan, and lost your title..
Uh oh. That wasn't good...
You immediately ran backstage and profusely apologized to the Bloodline.
But Tama didn't care, he drug you away to the empty arena hallway.
And got to work. Within seconds, you were upset at this idea.
"Tama! You knew that was my favorite ring gear! It'll take ages to-" You got caught off guard by him slamming his cock up into you.
"Gah- ngh..." You wanted to scream, but Tama would silence you with his hand.
He fucked you at a brushing pace, making you moan and gasp. You never really cried for your release, that was until he was purposely edging you. To make you beg for release, to hear your somber little feeble pleads to cum.
You stayed silent though ignoring his actions, trying to distract yourself.
"Aren't you going to beg? Pet." He asked
"No sir. I'm fine currently." You said
"Wow, we're feeling confident today" Tama added.
You growled and flipped him off "Fuck you" You remarked
"Darling, I am fucking you." He sighed
"Nghhhhh- Whatever." You growled
He pulled you into a kiss, which quickly turned into making out, while casually cockwarming. But ehh.
Eventually you couldn't take it anymore, you began to plead for release.
Tama's expression turned from Angry to lustful in a second.
He nodded and then began to slam into you fast and hard.
Because of how long you waited, you physically lasted a second. Before your knees weak
Tama Tonga, he took a few minutes. Before finishing. Making a remark about your lower half.

Something Metal🥁
Kevin × fem!reader
Movie: Metal Lords
Part 2
Blue italic= Thoughts
Green italic= Kevin narrating
“Why?” She asked “Uh…cause then you can get to know people. If you want you can join Hunter and I at lunch, maybe uh make some friends” I said the last part a little bit quieter please say yes “…Okay I’ll come to the party but not for long social things aren’t really my thing” she said and looked around then met my eyes. “Okay well, text me your address and I’ll pick you” I said and she was confused for a second “Oh! Right you have my number. Okay so pick me around 7?” She asked and I nod my head and put my hands in my pockets “I’ll see you at 7.” “Oh and ehh…sorry I called you stupid earlier”
(Scene skip ⏭️)
After Kevin comes to pick me up we drive to the party I sit in the back and don’t really say much while Kevin and Hunter talk about something I’m not even paying attention to once we show up to the party we stand there awkwardly dancing a little to the terrible music.
Kevin’s POV
I’ve never been to a party. I always wondered what people like this did at them. People whose bands didn’t have names like Skullfucker. Now I know. Here we are…in the middle of it all.
Y/n POV
Hunter, Kevin and i are standing off to the side and Kevin sways to the music a little while Hunter looks around from where he’s standing “This rules. Awesome idea” Hunter said sarcastically and I laughed slightly
“He said everyone’s invited” Kevin said yelling slightly over the music and Hunter scoffs “How do they do it?” Kevin said looking around “What are you talking about? This is like three chords and they still can't get it right. They suck. Look at the drummer he’s high out of his mind” Hunter said and you could hear the drummer playing offbeat “I mean, them, all of them. How did they just... do this, like it's the easiest thing ever?” Kevin said curiously, then Hunter puts a hand on Kevin’s shoulder for Kevin to look at him “Okay, listen to me things are gonna happen for us.” Hunter said hyping Kevin up a bit “Someday, all these people are gonna be like, Holy shit! Kevin Schlieb and Hunter Sylvester I went to high school with those guys I could've even hung out with them maybe, but it's gonna be too late, 'cause we're gonna be too busy hanging out with the guys from Iron Maiden.” Hunter finished his little speech, Kevin looks around at all the people drinking, I look up “Wow Hunter that was one of the greatest things you’ve ever said, even though we’re in the same speech class”
(Scene skip ⏭️)
We’re in the living room, Kevin and I have a drink in our hand but Hunter doesn’t which is perfectly fine but I don’t think Hunter like the fact that Kevin’s drinking as we lean against the pillar an Hunter looks at Kevin while he’s drinking “Great” then I turn to my right to see Kevin dancing a little and I decide to join him “Hunter, it's not that bad, actually, once you get used to it. Seriously.” Kevin said looking at hunter then looking at me and I give him a smile and go back to dancing with him while hunter just stood there clearly bored. I don’t think Hunter likes me very much.
We go back into the kitchen and get some beer, Kevin and I sit on the bar stools while Hunter just stands there listening to Kevin and I talk “Hunter, seriously, our band is gonna be so awesome. I'm gonna practice like five hours a day. I'm gonna be better than Ringo Starr.” Kevin then gets up and gets a shot and he downed, then he looks at us and throw the cup to the ground “Whoo! Heavy metal rules!” He screams in a deep voice and everyone looks at us I look around and mouth ‘sorry’ to the people around us, “I have to go pee.” He said and patted Hunter on the shoulder “I’ll walk him to the bathroom and make sure he doesn’t go anywhere else” I told Hunter and he nodded
“I'll drive you home when you're finished” Hunter said looking at a very intoxicated Kevin “After. After pee-pee.” He said
After walking kevin to the bathroom making sure he didn’t get lost I wait out side by the pillar just waiting there for him while being on my phone, once he comes out of the bathroom he’s stumbling around and he looks up and sees me standing there waiting for him, he stops walking a stares at me after 10 seconds I look up and see him staring at me “What are you looking at?” I said yelling over the music looking at him confused, he walks up closer “You” he said “Why?”
“Because you're pretty. Why else do people stare at you?” He said kinda fast “People don’t stare at me.” Said bluntly “That's dumb.” He said mumbling “What?” I look at him confused “Why don't they?” “I could give you a million reasons.” I laugh. “My nose is a little too big…I have anger issues…people hate my accent it only happens when I’m mad though, you can hear the accent” as I talked I could tell Kevin was really listening to what I was saying.
(Kevin’s POV)
I am talking to Y/n and I'm not even afraid to talk to her. Beer is amazing. This party was a great idea. I don’t even care what Hunter says. Even he must be having fun right now.
(Y/n’s POV)
“That’s why they don’t stare at me. They all stare at her…” I said and look at the girl in the crowd full people, the one that laughed at me during lunch today “Her? I could’ve stared at her but I didn’t I’m an impartmentege. I’m an impart-- impartial judge” I look at him and give him a concerned look at how drunk he is and I laugh,
“Your funny” we stare at each other moment then out of nowhere we hear the speaker crush into the keyboard and it makes a terrible wail of sound. We look over and see Hunter on the ground next to the broken keyboard, after looking around I see that one asshole jock laughing, Skip, the one that bumped into Kevin earlier.
“Dude, what the fuck?” Clay said to skip Clay asks if Hunter is ok “Are you good, bruh? You hurt? Here, let me help you” but Hunter denied his help “No, no let me help you take lessons-” Hunter said as kevin and I ran up to him “-you guys suck…bruh” and the crowd Oohs. Clay looks at the three of us and says “I’m sorry you feel that way. Do you play?” I shake my head no as fast as I can “Yeah, I have a band. Me and my friend over here” Hunter that grabs Kevin by the sweater and pulls him closer
“A real band. A serious band. Not like you fucktards.” Clay looks at Hunter like he doesn’t even care Hunter called them fucktards, and the feeling in the room got really awkward “Got it. Um, I guess we'll be seeing you at the Battle of the Bands then.” Hunter looks at him in disbelief “There hasn't been a Battle of the Bands since Dave Migdall hung brain on stage.” Hunter said while looking at Clay “There is this year. Go sign up with Dean Swanson, but maybe don't say ‘fucktard’ 'cause she's a Special Olympics ambassador” an the crowd of students laugh. “All right, guys. Let’s keep this party going!” Clay yelled and the student cheered, Hunter looks at Kevin “Give me your car keys, come on” Kevin looks like he about to be sick so I step behind him and put my hand on his lower back, right when I did that he immediately threw up, I keep rubbing his back and we get outside and into the car.

Chapter 4: A sleeping angel
It was one of the first times that Cas really slept. Usually he never really needed to sleep, but this time he was exhausted. It had been around sixteen hours since they left Crowley and he still wasn’t awake. While Bobby took care of Balthazar, Sam was buying some groceries and Dean… Dean wasn’t leaving Cas’ side.
It felt weird, seeing Cas like that. Dean never saw Cas asleep. The angel looked quite peaceful. And beautiful. It reminded Dean of his own dream, which a lot of times came when he had a nightmare. It was always the same. He was fishing at a lake. It was peaceful, quiet and Cas had even showed up a few times. He wondered. He had those nightmares since he returned from Hell, but the lake-dream came a few months later. Around the time that they were working more with Cas. It was possible.
They now also knew why the trench coat was bloody. That stain would take a lot of soap to get out. The angel had a deep stab wound right where his ribs were. Crowley had used his blood for the sigil to open Purgatory. Dean had patched him up when they were back at Bobby’s house. The hunter wondered why the King of Hell had used his blood. It was supposed to be blood from a virgin, after all. Probably because it was angel blood. More powerful, Dean guessed. Cas moved a bit and Dean woke up from his thoughts. The angel had moved a little bit closer to Dean.
While Dean and Bobby took care of Cas and Balthazar, Sam went to the grocery store. He got some pie, obviously, some beer, bread, a few packets of crisps and some orange juice. It was one of the rare occasions that they had a normal breakfast. Sam doubted what kind of pie he would take. The cherry or the apple pie? He decided to go with the cherry and paid for the groceries. While he walked back to Bobby’s house he ran into Jody. ‘Hey, how are you?’ ‘Yeah, I’m good, thanks. How are you?’ ‘Ehh, I’ll live. We.. encountered some problems. But we’re fine for now.’ ‘Let me know if I can do something. I still owe Bobby, you and Dean.’ ‘Yeah, thanks. I’ll let you know.’
‘We still need to find Crowley. We can’t let him open Purgatory.’ ‘Yeah. And we need to find Lisa and Ben. I couldn’t find them anywhere at Crowley’s.’ Bobby sighed. Dean worried sometimes a bit too much. Not that he didn’t understand. If Dean and Sam were kidnapped he would also wanna find them as quickly as possible. He said: ‘If Cas is up and around we can split up. You and Cas can go search for Lisa and Ben and Sam and I will search for Crowley.’ ‘Are we gonna search for Crowley?,’ a voice suddenly asked from behind them. ‘Sam, you’re back. Do you have the pie?’ Sam searched in the bag and tossed Dean the pie. ‘Here. Any idea on where Crowley could be?’
Two hours later
They had been researching for about two hours, when Dean said: ‘I think I’ve got something.’ The other two men looked up and Sam asked: ‘What is it?’ ‘Here. One murder. Only thing found at the crime scene was sulfur. And here is a photo of the crime scene. And look who’s there?’ Bobby took a better look at the photo and saw Crowley standing in the crowd. He snorted. ‘Not very professional. Well, now hope that he’s still there. Good work Dean. Let’s get to Minassouta.’ ‘Wait. What about Cas and Balthazar?’ ‘We come with you.’ The three men turned around and saw Balthazar and Cas steady on their feet, angel blades in their hands. There wasn’t any blood left and it looked like all of the wounds were healed. Dean looked at Cas and the moment his eyes met Cas’s, he felt a strange warmth rushing through him. The spell was however broken when Sam said: ‘Well, let’s go then.’
While they drove, there was a bit of an awkward silence. Dean was still pissed at Cas and Sam, Bobby and Balthazar still didn’t really trust him. It was eventually Sam who broke the silence and said: ‘So, our plan still is to kill Crowley ?’ ‘Yes. Except if we can convince him to let go of the whole plan, but I don’t think that’s gonna work,’ Cas said. ‘Well, his choice. And it’s probably going to be a bad choice, knowing him,’ Sam answered. When they arrived there they split up. Sam, Bobby and Balthazar went through the back, as soon as they had taken care of the angel warding, and Dean and Cas stayed at the gate as a look-out.
It went easier than expected. That obviously meant that the whole thing was a trap, but still. ‘Well, at least they weren’t so stupid to let the door open.’ Sam sneaked to the back of the room and listened at the door. After a minute he quietly walked back and said: ‘They are in there. Crowley and at least four demons.’ ‘Awesome. We can’t exactly walk in there,’ Balthazar said. Then they suddenly heard something coming from another room. Bobby opened the door and saw two people tied on a chair, with their back to the door. He couldn’t really see who they were, but when he’d made sure it wasn’t a trap and walked towards them everything became clear. They had to warn Cas and Dean.
While the others were searching in the house, Dean and Cas were looking out for any demons or angels. They had been doing it for about an hour when Cas said: ‘Dean-’ ‘What ? You’re sorry ? I’m sorry, Cas, but you can’t fix this. You almost opened Purgatory and God knows what could’ve escaped from that !’ ‘I know, but that’s not what I was going to say. Look.’ He pointed at the door of the enormous house. Dean followed his finger and saw Crowley walking out, along with Sam, although it looked more like two others persons Dean couldn’t recognize dragged him along with them, Bobby, Balthazar and the two people who dragged Sam along with them. ‘What are they doing ? You think we should help them ?’ ‘Let’s first see if Crowley lets them go.’
He didn’t show it, but Dean was worrying. Obviously. Cas knew this, but he didn’t exactly know a way to make him feel comfortable, to let him know that everything was going to be alright. Then he suddenly thought of something. Something he had never done before. Well, a first time for everything. Dean couldn’t see them, but Cas folded his wings around Dean and hugged him. Dean felt something fluffy around him and looked over to Cas. The angel had that mysterious smile on his face and suddenly Dean knew it. Wings. It was at that moment that Dean realized that not even the fact that Cas had betrayed him, he could never hate him. He could never really hate the angel. He just couldn’t. The young man leaned a little bit closer into Cas’ touch and gave him a soft smile. Cas smiled back and they teleported to the others.
Right after that Bobby saw that Lisa and Ben were tied to those chairs, he quietly cut the ropes and signaled them to come with him. But when they entered the other room they saw Sam, knocked out, lying on the ground and three demons holding Balthazar with a knife against his throat. ‘Hello boys.’ Crowley walked in and pointed at Lisa and Ben. ‘Ah, I see you’ve found them. Let’s get straight to business, shall we?’ ‘You want to make a deal?’ Bobby asked. ‘Yes. I’ll let you all go, except Sam and you don’t try to slit my throat. Deal?’ Bobby looked at Sam. ‘What do you need him for?’ ‘Oh, just a little insurance that Dean isn’t gonna try to kill me.’ ‘With keeping Sam here you have a higher chance of him wanting to kill you then if you don’t.’ Bobby hoped he could persuade the King of Hell to let them all go, but he knew he didn’t really have a chance

The Conjuring
Chris Evans x reader
Summary: Your friends had a plan to get you and Chris together with the method of a horror movie, which you absolutely hated but maybe in the end it wasn’t all too bad.
Warnings: mention of the conjuring (no spoilers), being scared from the movies, nightmares and slight panic but not much, alcohol.
Words: 4K
The conjuring
You and your friends agreed to a movie night. Once a month you all tried to come together and hang out. You had to rearrange something otherwise you wouldn’t see each other with your busy schedules everyone had. This month would be a movie night at your friends house. Chris would be there too. Yes the Chris Evans and boy were you in love with that man.
Some of your friends knew, unfortunately, and tried to get you together but 9 out of the 10 times it would end up in a embarrassing situation for you. Chris didn’t seem to notice, luckily. But he always wanted to be around you or would keep an eye open for you. You tried to act normal but your feelings got way too much in the way so you kept your distance so you wouldn’t make a fool out of yourself.
You put your light coat on since the weather was quite nice and summer was just around the corner. You grabbed the booze, called the cab and got in. It took about half an hour before you arrived at your friends house.
You knocked on the door and it immediately opened. Luna smiled brightly at you and pulled you in a hug. “Oh I’ve missed you so much!” you chuckled at her enthusiasm. “I’ve missed you too Luna.” She got you out of the hug and checked you out. “Y/N, I’ve got to say, you look great! Like really good.” She told you, making you feel flustered and a little embarrassed. You put on some casual clothing but you definitely looked better since the last time she saw you. Call it a glow up.
She ushered you inside “Chris is here too.” She whispered teasingly and you just rolled your eyes at her. You walked inside with the booze and saw most of your friends already catching up. You locked eyes with Chris who looked gobs smacked at you. You started to feel more shy as you went over to your friends to greet them while Luna took the booze from your hands and placed it on the counter.
When it was Chris’s turn he immediately stood up, making you feel shy and chuckled slightly. Nobody really stood up but Chris did so he could properly greet you but it looked like he was in some sort of trance. “Hey.” He said shyly as well, which you weren’t used to. “Hey, how are you doing?” you asked him as you gave him a hug. He pulled you closer and it was definitely not a friendly hug as it was too long for that. “You look ehh… you look amazing. I mean you always do but you look eh… good.” He stumbled over his own words and you saw that he felt embarrassed. You chuckled and thanked him.
Scott, his brother who was there as well, eyed you and Chris and noticed the whole encounter. Chris looked at him and Scott just had a grin, knowing damn well about his brother’s crush on you which quickly turned into love.
“I’m going to get something to drink. You want another beer?” you asked him pointing towards his, almost empty, bottle. “Eh yeah sure, thank you.” You gave him a smile and walked towards the hallway to hang your coat up before getting the alcohol.
“What was that?” Luna whispered as she followed you. “I have no idea…” you told her honestly. She started to laugh. “Well seems like captain America likes you too.” You rolled your eyes. “I don’t think so, probably just being kind.” You told her, trying to sound casual but mostly trying to convince yourself and tried to get rid of the false hope, which never got you anywhere even though your guts told you otherwise.
“You have to be kidding me right? You really believe that? Y/N, you are gorgeous, smart, kind, caring and bla bla bla. So don’t tell me you actually believe he doesn’t like you because it was written all over his face.” She almost sounded mad at you. “Look, I just don’t want to get my hopes up, that never got me anywhere.” Luna looked down a little “Fine have it your way. Let’s get some booze cause I’m going to need it with your stupidity.” You chuckled at her being so dramatic.
You got some wine and got the beer for Chris. You gave it to him and your eyes locked again. You gave him a kind smile and he smiled brightly back but still seemed to be in a trance or still gobs smacked. It send electricity through your body and maybe Luna was right. You snapped out of it and sat on the other side next to Scott. Luna already rolled her eyes that you didn’t sit next to him.
“So what movie are we going to watch?” David asked. “Conjuring 1 and 2…” Luna said subtle, knowing fully well that you hated horror movies. Well not hated but the one with demons in them or any haunted house, you just hated.
You looked surprised at her and she gave you a fake smile. You didn’t want to give in so you chugged your wine. Nobody seemed to notice but Chris sensed your distress as he kept an eye on you, chugging your wine. You stood up to just get the whole bottle with you and plopped back to Scott.
What you didn’t know was that Luna and Scott talked about the two of you and made up a plan to get you closer this night.
Luna stood up to dim the lights a little softer and warmer so the focus would be completely on the television. You could feel Chris’s eyes burn onto your skin. You looked up at him and he immediately looked away but looked back not long after. He gave you a soft sympathetic smile. Chris knew you hated these movies because you had a conversation with him about these sorts of movies. You smiled back and crouched down in the couch for more cover, pulling a pillow on your lap.
The movie started off very strong with endless of jump scares that shook you to your core. You looked more at the cabinets than at the screen. You were so jumpy it was annoying, mostly to yourself. When you would actually look at the screen, you hid behind the pillow or put your hand carefully in front of your face.
It was almost the end of the first movie, thankfully and Chris mostly kept watching you instead of the movie. He wanted to go to you and wrap you up in his arms, helping you hide from the terror that was shown on the screen. His heart absolutely aching to go to you and led you hide in his arms. He noticed that Scott made room so someone could sit next to you.
He looked up at Scott with a frown and when he made eye contact with his brother, Scott hinted to sit next to you. He knew Scott was up to something and the way Luna looked at you and him, he knew that they were up to something but right now he didn’t care, all he wanted to do was take your distress away.
When the first movie ended some people got up for a bathroom break or get something to drink. You quickly got up to go to the bathroom as well and sat back down immediately. Chris got a beer and took a seat next to you. “You okay?” he asked you softly.
You looked at him and he saw how jumpy you were. “Yeah… Just hate these movies. The jump scares are too much.” You told him with an uncomfortable chuckle. “I’ll be right here, so if you want to hide, know that I’m here.” He told you carefully. You started to feel extremely shy but felt so many butterflies in your stomach, it was ridiculous at how much this man had an effect on you. “Thank you Chris.” You told him softly. He placed his arm behind you but made sure it didn’t touch you, so you wouldn’t feel uncomfortable. It was more of an invite that you could sit closer to him when you wanted to.
Everyone sat back down in place and put the second movie on and as well, that one started of strong with multiple jump scares. With every scare, you scooped closer to Chris which definitely didn’t go unnoticed by Chris, Luna and Scott. Chris carefully placed his arm around your shoulder while you leaned against his chest.
In the middle of the movie you actually grabbed his other arm for coverage. At that point it you were so close to Chris, not even air could get through. That was how plastered you were against him. When you wanted to hide, you would turn your face towards him and let your forehead rest against his chest. You could actually feel his heartrate pick up when you would do that but you were too busy with the movie so you let it go and brushed it off.
When there were jump scares which got to you, Chris would grab you a little tighter or go with his hands over your head in order to calm you down a little. It definitely helped a lot as you weren’t as scared as before even though the second movie was a whole lot scarier ( in your opinion.)
By the end of the movie you were all cuddled up and hidden against Chris. When the credits started to roll that was when you realized how close you were to Chris and you felt embarrassed so you got out of his arms. You looked at him as he was awaiting your next steps. You gave him a grateful smile which he returned with a warm one.
Your friends started chatting but you and Chris were too much intoxicated by each other and grew a little silent. Chris came a little closer to you and carefully placed his big warm hand on your back. “Hey, you okay?” he asked you gently which made you melt. “Yeah, just a little shaken up.” you chuckled uncomfortably but not by his touch. You just didn’t really knew how to behave at that point.
You stood up to get something to drink and offered to get another beer for Chris but he’d let you know that he would walk with you. After you repositioned in the kitchen you started to talk more about how you were doing, things that had happened and obviously asked how he was doing and what had happened in the meantime.
This was the things that you had missed, these types of conversations. The ones you both don’t want to end because you had so much more to tell each other but Luna walked up to you and Chris saying that she was tired. Chris looked a little disappointed just like you. “Let me drive you home.” Chris offered as he was off the beer now and just drinking water for a while.
“Are you sure?” you asked him, not wanting to be a bother. “Yeah I’m sure, let’s go.” He told you with a smile. Scott went back with his boyfriend and said your goodbyes to everyone. You stepped in Chris’s car as he stepped in as well.
You gave him your location and drove off while still remaining the conversation which ended up with a lot of laughter. “Hey I got an idea.” He told you once you both calmed down from the laughing. You looked at him with a spark in your eye. “Okay and what is that?” you asked him curious.
“I don’t know how hungry you are but I could eat something.” He told you with a grin on his face. “Yeah, I’m pretty hungry.” You told him, making him smile more. “I know a place not far from here. Kind off 80’s dinner, really nice and great junk food…. Wanna go?” He asked you hopeful. You chuckled “Absolutely.”
He drove you both to the dinner and you looked around as you stepped out of the car and walked in with Chris. The older lady that worked there gave you a great spot and you both sat down, continuing the conversation that went from one topic to the other.
You ordered some fries and a burger just like Chris. “You’ve never been here before?” Chris asked you genuinely. You took some fries and shook your head. “I know it’s a little weird considering I live so close but no, never been here before.” he checked you out with a smile. “Well, the ice cream here is amazing. You should take some home with you, I promise you won’t regret it.” he told you, making you chuckle. “If you say so. I believe you so it better be good then.” He chuckled as well.
After a while you both finished and as promised took some ice cream with you as Chris did too. Before you noticed, Chris had already paid. You looked up a little confused. “You pay next time.” He told you with a wink, trying to make you feel better. “I invited you, didn’t I? Besides, I really don’t mind. I would’ve insisted on it.” you chuckled again and stood up.
You stepped back in the car with Chris and he drove you home. When he was parked in front of your house, which was very dark, a pang of adrenaline rushed through you, remembering the movie. Chris looked at you as you were staring at your darkened windows. “Hey, you okay? Want me to come inside with you?” he asked you very gently.
You shook your head. “No it’s okay, it’s stupid anyways.” You tried to brush it off even though you REALLY did not want to go inside alone. “It’s not stupid Y/N. Besides I really don’t mind. I rather know that you feel comfortable in your own house than driving away here.” You looked at him feeling a little embarrassed about the whole situation. “Are you sure?” You asked him. He gave you a soft reassuring smile. “Yes I’m very sure.” You smiled back before stepping out of the car.
Chris stood right behind you as you unlocked your door, quickly putting on all the lights, which Chris found adorable. You walked into your kitchen “Do you ehm… Want something to drink? Let me put the ice cream in the freezer first.” You told him, taking both the cups and put them into your freezer. He noticed that you grew even more jumpier than before.
He walked up to you as he saw your anxiety strike up. “Hey, hey, hey calm down sweetheart. You’re okay, you’re safe.” He told you as he softly pulled you into a hug. “I’m sorry, this is so stupid.” You told him and felt like you could just hit yourself on the head. “Not it’s not stupid. Sometimes things freak us out a lot and apparently that’s this one for you. But it’s definitely not stupid.” You looked up at him and smiled softly.
“Thank you Chris.” He gave you a warm smile back. “You’re welcome. Do you want me to stay here for the night? I can sleep on the couch or floor besides you if you want, I’ve slept worse.” He tried to lighten the mood. “you don’t mind?” you asked him which gave him an even brighter smile. “Not one bit, sweetheart.” You nodded “Than yes please. But don’t worry I won’t let you sleep on the ground.” You both chuckled.
You showed Chris around so he could freshen up if he wanted to. He walked to his car to get his bag, which he always had with him just in case he would stay over. Meanwhile you got ready for bed and looked around where you would place Chris but the only option at this point was your bed and you were too unbothered to get another mattress.
Chris knocked on your room so he wouldn’t barge in while you were still changing. “Come in.” you told him and he did. “You can sleep next to me if you don’t mind. I’m too tired to get the mattress out.” He chuckled softly “Sure you’re okay with that?” he asked you, making you smile “Yeah I’m sure.” He nodded, giving you a gently smile again before heading towards the bathroom.
You climbed into bed but kept your eyes locked on your closet. Before you knew it, Chris came out of the bathroom. He wore a plain shirt and boxer because he didn’t want to make you uncomfortable but you felt yourself melt at the sight of the man. God he’s so hot.
“You okay?” he asked you a little worried. You rubbed your face with your hands. “Yeah, I’m sorry, I never had this much of a response to a horror movie. I guess this one really got to me.” You chuckled a little embarrassed. “It’s okay, don’t worry about it. I actually had it too one time.” He confessed.
You laid down on your side, facing Chris. “Really? Which one?” you asked as he laid down on his side facing you as well. He started to talk, making you laugh and falling back in conversation about movies before you felt your eyes grow heavy. In the midst of your conversation, you laid down on his chest with your arms underneath your chin. His arms around you while his fingers softly went up and down your back.
You closed your eyes and noticed Chris stopped talking but you were too tired to open them again. Chris looked at you with a loving gaze before closing his own eyes.
~little time skip~
You woke up, absolutely terrified from a very bad nightmare about that stupid movie. You looked in front of you but apparently you were still in some sort of sleep mode because you saw shadows darting away. You knew it wasn’t some sleep paralysis because you were able to move.
You sat completely against the headrest with your legs tucked underneath you as close as possibly could. Chris noticed the change and woke up, seeing you staring petrified in front of you so he quickly sat up.
“Hey, hey, sweetheart, it was just a nightmare, you’re okay, you’re safe. I won’t let anything happen to you.” he told you softly as he carefully rubbed your back. You looked up at him and quickly held onto him by his waist. He carefully placed his arms around you and rubbed your back and arm after he put your nightlight on.
“I guess I was in some sort of sleeping state but when I woke up, I saw shadows and it scared me so much.” He held onto you a little tighter. “I promise I won’t let anything happen to you.” You both decided to go downstairs since you were too scared to fall back asleep and get another nightmare.
You sat down on the couch and streamed something from YouTube to your tv to calm yourself down. Chis placed your legs over him and against his chest while he placed a blanket over the two of you. Chris softly rubbed your leg up and down and you carefully leaned more against him.
After a while Chris looked at you. “We still have that ice cream…” he told you, making you chuckle. “Sounds good to me.” He got up and took the ice cream from your freezer and walked back with two spoons. He gave you the cup and sat back down. You got a couple of bites and Chris awaited your reaction. “Good?” he asked you. “Oh very. I don’t know if it’s a good thing that it’s this good.” Chris chuckled as you dove into the ice cream.
After a while you became tired again as you were both awake for a while now. Chris laid behind you, spooning you as your eyes slowly closed. His arm tightly wrapped around you and the blanket covering the two of you.
~time skip~
You woke up from the sun in your eyes. You groaned a little and turned around. The events coming back to you as the smell of pancakes hit your nose. You opened your eyes and got up, making your way to the kitchen.
Chris stood there making pancakes in his black sweatpants and dark blue shirt. “Morning.” You told him softly. He turned around, giving you a big smile and placed a cup of coffee in front of you. “Good morning princess.” You smiled at the nickname as your heart started taking leaps. “I’m sorry I kept you up almost the entire night.” You told him feeling a little ashamed.
He gave you a warm smile “I really don’t mind. I had a good time actually.” He told you and you both started to laugh. He flipped the pancakes until he got a call from Scott. “Hey, soo….. I noticed that you didn’t stay over with us last night….. did you sleep over by Y/N house?” he asked teasingly and you saw Chris visibly blush.
“Yeah, the movie really got to her.” He told him while looking at you with a smile. “ So did you finally get together? Did our plan work?” you frowned and Chris did too “Plan? What plan?” he asked just as visibly confused as you were. “Mine and Luna’s plan. We know she hates those movies and we know you are protective. We also know that you both like each other and you just needed a little push in the right direction.” You and Chris got big eyes as you looked at each other, feeling both very flustered.
“Eh let me call you back….” Chris said “Oh shit, you’re still there aren’t you?” he asked shocked but Chris already hang up. “I’m sorry…I…..” Chris couldn’t finish his sentence. “You like me?” you asked him very direct. “I ehh.. Yeah I do. Very much actually.” He told you as he uncomfortably scratched the back of his head. You smiled and felt your cheeks heat up. “ I actually really like you too….”
This time Chris looked up surprised. “Wait really?” he asked you and you couldn’t wipe the smile off of your face as you nodded. Chris smiled as well. “Well, let me do it properly then. Would you like to go out with me on a proper date?” he asked you with a huge smile on his face. “I would really like that.”
“How about tonight? Our second date? We kind off already had our first date last night at the diner but I’ll make the second better.” You chuckled “Hey! I really liked our first date!” you chuckled and Chris put his hands up in defense. “But yes I would really like a second date.” You told him shyly.
Chris walked up to you with a smile until you smelled something burning just like Chris. He quickly turned around towards the pancakes and quickly flipped them. You both started to chuckle. “We should safe it for the second date anyways. I don’t kiss on first dates.” You told him teasingly as he looked at you with a smirk.
“Is that a promise?” he asked you teasingly back. “Depends on the date Captain.” You told him more boldly and he got an even bigger smirk as he turned around for the pancakes. “I hear a challenge.” He told you playfully as you rolled your eyes. “We’ll see. We’ll see…” you told him with a smirk as well.

"We have a problem," Laika said, as she helped the guy with the burned face stand up, her arm hooked under his. She dusted off his shoulders. "We might have been, uh, a very small amount, but maybe misrepresented ourselves."
"This sounds more like I have a problem." He grimaced, briefly squinting before shutting his eyes.
Glancing between Sy and Doc, Laika continued, "Well, it's a problem of, um. Okay, you ever had a bad break-up?"
"Several." Spoken with dry sarcasm.
"So the problem as I see it, is that we need to break up. Like, you go your way, we go ours, and like very importantly here, no one gets hurt."
The burned guy made a face.
"Hurt more," Laika amended. "I know you guys probably burned some resources checking us out, and we're, you know. Sorry we took advantage, it was pretty bad though. Kind of a two tiger pit situation."
"It might help," he said, "If you could leave us with anything for the trouble."
Sy and Laika looked at one another again, and she rubbed the back of her neck. "Uh, I kind of thought your lives. I mean, we're leaving you alive, that's the offer."
"You haven't threatened people much, have you?"
"C'mon man," Sy broke in. "What I've seen, she usually skips past the threat part completely. Work with us a little."
"This week is an outlier. An outlier!"
"Okay, whatever," the guy with the burns said. "I'm tired, I feel like shit, I just want to put some burn cream on my face. Let me get on the radio. I'll take my crew and we'll leave you to your clown car."
"You'll never take us alive!" Blake or maybe Sloane added.
"Sloane?"
"It's Blake, for all the islands! Why can't you remember?"
"Blake? Sorry what? You're not gonna get killed, you're coming too."
"Actually," Laika said.
"That's not the shape of this puzzle," presumably Blake said, with a confusingly vicious inflection.
"What I mean," Laika continued, "is that she's made the decision to remain here. You actually keep her locked in a cage?"
"She's got a bed and fresh water and her favorite books, and also excuse me?"
"Excuse- what!" Sloane or possibly Blake halfway tried to jump the burned guy, but was held back by Sy.
He shook his head. "I'm... okay, does Blake Sloane meaning anything to any of you? The linguist? Translated Viewtop?"
Blank looks were passed around liberally and Laika said, "She told us she was a linguist already. What's the big deal with some translation?"
He tried to put his face in his hands then winced. "Okay no. Viewtop wass a satellite. Orbited Psychedelic Sky? Anything?"
There was not anything, more blank looks.
"She translated it, okay? Get me? It had a population of seven million and Doc there translated the entire thing."
Carefully Laika said, "What do you mean she translated it?"
He laughed. "No one actually knows! That's why she's not going anywhere. No one knows where it went, and one day maybe she'll finally say something or bring it back. She... can't just leave."
Sloane or maybe Blake was shaking her head. "Wrong wrong, no No no, can't lie cuz you don't know," she lunged again and Sy pulled her back.
"Look man," Sy said. "The shi... Uh, Laika there, she could just as easily kill your crew in a snap-" Laika tried to look intimidating. "-but we actually don't like that sort of thing."
"I'm not sure it'd be that easy," said the burned man, "but I'll entertain the idea."
"You've seen a little of this place, just trust me here, but okay," Sy ran fingers through his braids. "What if we do an entangled fire code so if, uh Blake here-"
"It's Doctor Blake, ughhh!"
"Right, if she twigs to something, we can let you know? She seems really intent on writing here."
"Ehh. Might be nice to have a halfway normal doctorate but it would bring a lot of trouble down."
Laika grumbled, "Story of my life. Fine. Like, what is it you actually want. You look like your brain finally caught up to your mouth. I don't even know your name."
"It's Michele Loren," said Loren. "And there might be something you could do. Worth it for me, maybe for you too."
"Here we go."
"How much do you know about the original Earth moon? How much do your know about Luna?"

Part 3: Inveterate Scars
The only sound in the corridors of Genghis Khan was the slow throb of a giant breathing. It was barely audible, always just below the floor or walls, nearly vibration alone at times. Sy thought it sounded a little like the rush of a monorail through a long tunnel, perhaps. Nothing echoed along its walls or wide empty corridors, his own voice barely came back, his running footsteps reduced to thuds. The silence was the same kind he remembered from university libraries, where every word slipped into racks of data cartridges or soft carpet, anywhere it could hide to escape notice.
The bloodstains on GK's floors were browning, but the pool on the bridge was still a darkening, sticky red. It reeked of sour copper, and he hadn't had time to clean. He felt like he'd been walking for hours, screaming at GK to show him medical supplies. He couldn't even remember what he said, what GK said. Most of the emergency kit was empty, discolored spaces where whatever passed for bandages or antibacterial cream had vanished over time, but he clutched several rolls of polyplast-like material and a few metallic tubes that sloshed.
"There is no certainty these materials are safe for Laika's use," GK advised, while Sy staggered his way through the floor switch into her room.
More blood, not as much as the bridge, but enough. Her skin almost seemed to have a blue tinge, terrifyingly pale compared to her usual brown and olive undertones. He dropped what he held and put his hand under her nose. Faint, still breathing. The cactus thorns and torn clothes he'd tried to pull her wound together with seemed to have held enough for the moment. Some of the rags were starting to soak through.
"How do I use these?"
"She appears stable. It may more prudent to avoid the potential aggravation of her injury rather than undertake the risk of incompatible medical procedures."
"She isn't stable, she's bleeding more than breathing. These," Sy waved the rolled sheets, "look like bandages. Are they bandages?"
"..."
"GK if you don't tell me what they are I'm gonna try and figure it out by myself."
"They do not- Your words do not describe them well. They are biologically static shell component. The fluid component will permit structural permeation without deterioration."
"This sounds a lot like a bandage."
"Her- Laika does not share a compatible structure with a Pilot. It may prove beneficial to her injury, or it may eject her soul from this shell, may it find a stronger shell one day."
"Well I think that's going to happen anyway if we don't try something."
"I am also attempting to locate assistance."
"What do you- Nevermind. Show me how to use the thingy."
"Biologically static shell component. You will need to activate it with biologic matter to prime the component to the recipient structure."
Sy stuck his hand in Laika's blood and smeared the bandage. "Please don't die yet," he said. "You can't leave me alone with GK." He took a deep breath and began to unwind the bandages.
In the ever expanding void of space, and interlace of structure and system, Genghis Khan reached in its own way for help, hungry and waiting.

Drippy shoes
Hawks x reader one-shot (crossposted)
Now, before reading this, keep in mind that:
I am by NO MEANS a (good) writer, writing is not my passion, I simply enjoy doing it for fun, sometimes (rarely)
I wrote this story a few months ago, I just wanted to post it on my Tumblr account too
If you find any grammatical mistakes, tell me!
Crappy fanfic or not, please do not repost this anywhere
I literally just copy and pasted it + the A/N (a.k.a. I didn't re-read it)
It's very...cringy
Reader is female! (this is why)
" Can't wait to see his face, pff.. " you chuckle. What are you doing, you ask? Well, you see… It's nothing too scandalous, just a little prank between boyfriend and girlfriend… Best friends… Boyfriend and girlfriend who are best friends…like… Let's say, pouring sweet chilli into Hawks' shoes… Really, no big deal.
" Oh my fucking God, he's going to be SO pissed, holy shit-.. " you say to yourself, wheezing, while pouring the rest of the sauce in his 'Yoyogi Park Pack' adidas x atmos forum shoes.
Oho… Now THOSE were some expensive shoes (they aren't THAT expensive, I think they cost the average adidas price? Idk, but let's just pretend they're super duper expensive). Actually, YOU got HIM these shoes for Christmas, you know, a special occasion. It's not like you had a choice, he had to beg on his knees just to get you to buy those damn shoes. You asked him why couldn't he buy them on his own, but he never really gave you a proper answer, something like " Ehh… You know me, always broke, haha-" or " I don't like wasting money on something that someone else can buy me. " and even " I'm saving up a bit for something special. ". That 'something special' turned out to be some video games that you hadn't gotten yet, AND an expensive short trench coat that you'd always wanted. And hey, you WERE grateful, I mean, why wouldn't you be? Video games and a trench coat? Score!
My God, you still remember his stupid little face when he used to beg nonstop, "But baaabe… They look so COOL??? Do you NOT like them? They're so fashionable AND they're inspired by the Yoyogi Park! THE Yoyogi Park! Do you have any idea how many times I went there? Like… TWICE. ". So… With a little bit of more bickering, you ended up buying his oh-so-' fashionable' shoes. And boy, was Hawks happy when he got a glimpse of the somewhat heavy adidas box.
But AAAAAAAANYWAY… What you did last Christmas doesn't concern you right now, BACK TO YOU.
After filling his lovely shoes with your sweet chilli sauce, you decided to hide the half-empty bottle in your purse/bag/backpack, and wait for Hawky-baby to arrive. (You guys do NOT live together, yet, at least. You were just hanging around his place). " Note to self, buy more of the godly sauce. " You know… Now that you think about it, Hawks shouldn't even be that mad, you took your TIME to fill up his shoes with such an appetizing CONDIMENT, that, by the way, did NOT come in CHEAP.
Half an hour later, while watching YouTube videos on his Smart TV, you heard the door being unlocked (YES, he locked you inside, ok?? FOR SAFETY REASONS). "Hawks?" You asked, even though you knew it was him. " No, it's Dabi. " Hawks chuckled. "Haha. Very funny, Hawks. How was work? How come you're home early?", " Why? Did you want to spend more time in MY house? You know, the place where I live? Did I interrupt something? " You rolled your eyes, a small smile on your face " No, of course not." "Well, it doesn't matter anyway. I need to go somewhere else, but I want to take a quick shower and change clothes first. " he said, while taking off his jacket, and heading to the bathroom. " Go on, am I stopping you? " you answered, sitting back down on his sofa.
The sound of clothes being scattered on the floor could be heard, as well as the shower curtain being shoved away, and the water hitting the ground.
As your excitement grew, you unpause the video you were previously watching and wait for Hawks to come back, trying to calm down a bit, not wanting Hawks to hear your giggles from the living room.
When your dear boyfriend came out of the bathroom, in nothing but a towel around his waist, you don't spare him a glance, and neither does he, heading directly to his room to get some new clothes, muttering something about ''getting new shoes because the pair he was wearing had become dirty from all that fighting and he doesn't have enough time to clean them up right now.'' You ask him what was he going to put on then, and he says that he would like to wear the shoes you had bought for Christmas.
Mentally smirking, you tell him that it'd be a great idea to wear some clothes with earthy colours, to match with his shoes. He agrees, and in no time, he comes out of his room looking good as new, and very stylish.
'' How do I look, (y/n)?'' '' With your eyes, Hawks.'' '' You are no longer welcome in my house.'' '' You can't do anything about it now though, can you?'' Hawks hummed in amusement, not really trying to find a comeback because he was running late.
'' Where are you going, anyway?'' you asked, realising that he never told you where he was going. '' Somewhere important.'' he replied. '' Somewhere important… where? Elaborate.'' '' Wouldn't you like to know, weather girl?'' '' Alright then, keep your secrets.''
The moment you were waiting for was so close…just a little bit more… '' Phew… keep it down, (y/n). Don't wanna blow your cover now, do you?'' you quietly tell yourself, sighing.
'' Well, I'll be off now, take care and try not to damage my stuff too much.'' '' Who, me? I would NEVER.'' you dramatically gasp. '' Pff…yeah, sure you won't.''
Finally! The moment has come! In 3… 2… 1…
'' WHAT THE FUCK?!''
Not being able to contain your excitement anymore, you burst out laughing, tears of hilarity rolling down your burning cheeks.
'' WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?? (Y/N), DID YOU DO THIS?? ANSWER ME, DAMMIT!!'' After you settled down a bit, you answer: '' Hawks, I already told you, I would never do such thing! I'm a Saint!'' you chuckle, the image of Hawks putting on his juicy shoes playing in your head.
'' This is DISGUSTING. Seriously, (y/n)? It's just downright NASTY, it feels HORRIBLE. Especially after you took a goddamn SHOWER.'' '' Oh well, it is what is is.'' '' Eugh… God give me strength…''
Your partner, clearly in a bad mood, decided to go inside the bathroom once again to clean up his feet, socks and…shoes.
'' Ah fuck, I can't believe you've done this. I don't even understand the reason behind this stupid prank. Was it something I had done again? I told you, you can call me out whenever you feel like I did something to upset you.'' Hawks grumbled from the bathroom, easy to hear since he didn't close the door.
'' Oh, it's nothing like that, I just wanted to see your reaction. What's the problem? I thought you liked that sweet chilli sauce.'' you say in a relaxed tone. '' Yeah, I like it on CHICKEN, a.k.a. FOOD.-'' he yelled. '' Very poor choice of words, chicken wings. I see no difference.'' you smile at his suffering. ''-AND the problem is that: a) I'm late for dinner, AND b) my precious shoes are RUINED. What am I supposed to do now?'' Hawks sulked.
You were about to answer regarding his 'precious shoes' problem, how he could always just throw them away and get a new pair since he DOES have the money, or just find someone that would be able to thoroughly clean his shoes…even though you think that buying a new pair would be better since there are extremely slim chances of finding someone experienced enough for such a job…ahem…you filled those shoes up pretty good. (Props to you)
'' Hold up…dinner?'' you asked, curious, ''I though you were going somewhere important?'' '' Is dinner not important? People need to eat, (y/n). Jeez.'' the angry birdman answered. '' Where, exactly, were you planning to go?'' '' Isn't it obvious?''
'' KFC…'' he muttered. '' Oh my God.'' you facepalmed. '' What? What's wrong with KFC? It's not like I was going to bring you with me.'' '' Hawks, I thought you were going to an important meeting or something like that, not KFC! How are you even late? Were you going to meet up with someone?'' you said, confused. '' No…I was planning to go by myself, as I always do.'' '' Hawks…'' '' Me and the boys were gonna eat until we passed out.'' You sighed, but after thinking for a second, why were you sighing exactly? because you wanted him to be late to an important meeting that turned out to be a dinner date with his homies? To be honest, you can't be upset right now, I mean…You don't have a reason to be, YOU'RE the one who ruined HIS shoes, and it's not like he hasn't gone to KFC with his friends before. '' Ok ok, I get it, but why didn't you just tell me what you were going to do? It's not like you weren't allowed to go, you know.'' Zoning out for a second, he looked at you and shrugged, not knowing either. '' You're an idiot.'' You said softly. '' Hey! Sometimes I just do things…that make no sense, ok? It doesn't matter, important meeting or not, my shoes would've been filled with chilli sauce anyway.'' '' Yeaaaah, that's true…'' you replied, not knowing what to say next.
Now that everything has been cleared out, you didn't know what to do, and neither did Hawks. Hm… I guess that prank wasn't as funny as you thought it'd be. For some reason, after these events, everything felt kind of awkward, and you had no idea why (and neither did the author).
Sighing once again, you snicker and tell Hawks that he should hurry up, not wanting him to be any more late than he already is. He couldn't help but let out a stifled laugh, agreeing with what you said. Grabbing another pair of sneakers, he kisses your cheek and leaves through the window, but not before yelling "I love you, chickadee! Even though you poured sauce in my shoes!". "Oh, shut it! I bet you did something to deserve it anyway! And don't forget to bring me something!" you also yelled. '' No promises!'' he replied one last time, before receding from your view.
After making sure that he won't be home any time soon, you go into his living room, where you originally were, to lie down on his couch and wait for your winged doofus.
BONUS: An hour or so later, you felt your phone/tablet vibrate, a signal for you to pick it up and see who has sent you message, or, a notification from a youtuber. Turning on your device, you see a message from your so-called 'beloved': '' Oh, btw, you owe new shoes, boo.'' You groan and turn it off, pretending you didn't see his demand.
A/N: Now....idk if you have noticed, but I have kind of lost motivation halfway through the fan fic, and I also didn't know what to write because...it didn't really make sense, ya dig? Oh yeah, this fan fic was supposed to be about Hawks trying to get revenge on you, but I guess it didn't work out. I was thinking about making a part 2 about it, where he actually gets revenge lol. Umm...it didn't come out very great...as I thought it would...it looked better in my mind, but oh well...it is what is is.

A sneak peek at my next multi chapter fic because im excited and need motivation to finish it!
~~~~~
"Uh... Yeah." He said awkwardly, trying to figure out the best plan of action to get out of here. "Speaking of which, I should probably get back to Hexside anyway. I really have to, uh... check on my friends." Nice.
"Hold on, there." Dell said before Hunter could even try to get up. "You can't leave until a healer comes to make sure your head is okay, but it'll probably be awhile until they get here."
"I'm sure I'm fine." Hunter retorted, sitting up a little. "I can take care of myself, I've done it my whole life."
The man frowned. "Well, even if I trusted that you'd be okay on your own, its impossible for you to leave right now."
Hunter started to get nervous when he said that, fidgeting slightly. "What do you mean?"
"Its raining right now, and probably will be until tomorrow, so you can't exactly go anywhere anyway."
"Oh." Hunter said flatly. Being stuck here until tomorrow wasn't ideal, but at least this 'Dell' wasn't keeping him here for nefarious reasons. At least, he didn't think he was, but you could never be too sure. Hunter made a mental note to always be on guard here.
"But, if you need to contact your friends or family, I have a crowphone you can borrow. Unless you have one of those, uh, Pen-Grams that all the kids have nowadays."
The teen was pretty sure that it wasn't pronounced like that, but to be honest he didn't know enough about the device Darius had gifted to him in the first place, so he didn't want to correct him.
Unfortunately, he realized he didn't have either of the communication devices, as his crowphone was still in his room at the castle, and he had no idea where his scroll went. He probably dropped it at some point during the battle or when he was fleeing the scene. If he had magic he could just summon it, but that was a no-go for obvious reasons.
Darius would probably be disappointed if he found out Hunter had lost it, he thought with a grimace. He'd have to apologize if he saw the headwitch again later.
"Oh. Thanks, but..." Hunter pondered for a moment. Did he even have anyone to call? Maybe his friends Willow or Gus? Would they care? The Owl Lady? Ehh. Luz? She was probably dealing with a lot. The Blights? Principal Bump? Darius?
"...I don't have anyone to call." He finished solemnly, looking down at the snuggley bird in his lap.
The room was silent for a moment, though it felt like years. The words Hunter had muttered hung thick in the air, like they were suffocating him.
"...You sure?" Dell asked, and Hunter could feel the man's eyes boring into him, like he was looking for something that the boy could provide.
Hunter continued to avert his gaze. "I'm sure." His voice cracked. Titan, he sounded so... weak. And pitiful. Why couldn't he just pull it together? He can't show weakness in front of this man. He just can't.
He could hear the elder sigh. "Alright. Since the healer won't be here until tomorrow, how about you get cleaned up while I go make dinner?"
~~~~~
It might change in the future cause idk what happens in the next episode obviously, but after that I'll fix whatevers not right and continue working on this!
It'll probably be a long while until it's finished since I don't really have an ending planned, but I figured you'd all like to see anyway! Lmk if you liked this!

FFXIV Black OC Week Day 2: “Who are their friends and family?”
“It’s good of ye t’always be visiting yer sister like this between yer adventures, but why don’t ye ever bring any of yer scion friends along? D’they not want t’see me cause I ‘ent join their little club too? I live right next to the beach n’ everything, ye’d think at least one of ‘em’d be keen.”
“I mean, at least two of them can’t swim, but that’s not why! Y’know most of them are scholarly types... They’re all over the place now looking into something or the other...“
“Aye, that’s true. Even me bleedin’ wife is too busy in Mor Dhona with Tataru t’come home n’ share a good meal late-- wait, who can’t fuckin’ swim?”
“Alphinaud... and Urianger, actually. Back when we were on the First, Urianger actually tried to cast a spell to walk on water instead, and well... It didn’t exactly work. Fell right in. Plop!”
“Bahahahah! And after a show like that, ye still slept with him. Wow.”
“Roeh!”
“What, I ‘ent wrong! Ye got weird taste in men, Niuwyb.”
“Like you can talk! Last I saw Curious Gorge, your girlfriend had just about sent him flying a malm high for some reason or another.”
“...Ye got me there. Well, they’re jus’ like that, y’know. Ehh... How ‘bout the other scions, then? Th’ lil’ lalafellin woman with that yellow coat? Coulda invited her.”
“Krile? She’s working with G’raha back in Sharlayan to rebuild the Students of Baldesion. She likes a good gossip over tea every now and then, but she’s had her hands full lately... G’raha too, before you ask.”
“The redhead miqo’te that’s keen on ye? Damn, I woulda poked fun at him fer it too.”
“I’d call that a bullet dodged for him, then.”
“Hah! Hrm, if those two’re busy... What about Thancred? I’ll never forget th’ day I came by after th’ mess with Leviathan and th’ man was surrounded. Bleedin’ hilarious, that was! I’d been meanin’ ter take him along drinkin’ again sometime.”
“He’s out in Labyrinthos with Urianger, helping out the Lopporits. So, unless you want your house full of them, it might have to wait...”
“I mean...”
“No.”
“Aye, fair... And the twins? Yer about t’ tell me they’re halfway ‘cross th’ world, ‘ent ye.”
“Funny you should say that! They actually returned to Garlemald to assist in recovery efforts. So, literally halfway across the world, yeah.”
“Eh? On purpose? They went back t’ that bleedin’ godsforsaken snowy hell? Ye couldn’t pay me a million gil t’go back there! I did m’job and came right back home!”
“Maybe you shoulda rugged up a bit better? They did tell you it was going to be even colder than Coerthas...”
“Bah. Okay. Twins’re busy. Freezin’ their hindquarters off. How ‘bout Estinien? Surely he’s got nothin’ better t’do.”
“He’s in Thavnair, helping out Vrtra.”
“And he’s prolly melting his arse off! Shouldn’t ye be supervising yer man, though? Heard he’s absolute shite with money.”
“He’ll be fine. I think. Probably.”
“Ye sound so very sure of that... Thal’s balls, I’m runnin’ out of people t’ask about now... Y’shtola? Tell yer girlfriend she should come back n’ visit Limsa Lominsa for old times’ sake!”
“I doubt Shtola’s going anywhere anytime soon... She’s buried in research again over at Matoya’s place. I’m not about to pry her away from that unless it’s something really urgent.”
“Me sister not bringing any of her friends or her lovers t’ visit is urgent! I’m getting bored! All I got right now is bleedin’ paperwork!”
"Is it really that bad? At least it’s not like when most of them were stuck on the First. If I recall, you almost burnt down your kitc--”
“I have no fuckin’ idea what yer on about w' that. Never happened. Yer gonna tell me where Ysayle is now, and we’re not t’speak of that again.”
“Hah! Well, seeing as you’re so insistent! She went with Sandrine and Sonje to Anyx Trine to talk to the dragons about what we saw in Ultima Thule. Sandrine seemed especially insistent on getting info from them, which is unsurprising.”
“Dravania, huh...Y’know what I’m thinkin’? Maybe I should take a holiday too. Been a minute since I was last ‘n Tailfeather. ‘m due for a good fishing trip, and it’ll be good ter see Marcechamp and lil’ Deftarm again.”
“Oh, I ran into Deftarm a while back! He was helping with deliveries for the construction in Ishgard. Working hard, as always.”
“I’m proud of th’ lil’ guy... Went from stealing gysahl greens to bein’ a full fledged adventurer. Awh, shite, I really should visit.”
"Hah, then after all that fuss you made, you’re going to travel too?”
“I weren’t makin’ a fuss, were I? Jus’ bein nosy about yer friends.”

They never quite fell back to sleep.
It took only three hours for them to start rolling out of their makeshift bed, and back to scrambling around the hobbit hole and making the most of the resources.
The two teens didn’t really talk, after how their last conversation finished.
Tommy peaked down into what looked like a not-so-hidden stripmine, before Tubbo’s head perked up.
“Someone’s at the door,” The brunett chimed, carefully striding their way over.
It was once again Grian, with a shulkerbox in tow.
“Sorry to bother you guys again,” Grian gave a sheepish wave while balancing the box against one arm and his chest. “I remembered last night that I didn’t leave any cooking supplies, or open up where the kitchen is.”
“It’s not just you,” Tommy decided to add, turning back towards where the entrance was. “That fuckin’ bird showed up again this mornin’. Woke us up.”
At that, Grian groaned. “Yeah..He does his own thing in the early mornings and at night. The hobbithole was basically his house. I’ll enclose him tonight, sorry for that.”
Moving the box under an arm, Grian tilted his head. “Can I go back and show you where the kitchen’s hidden?”
Tommy merely raised a brow. “It’s your house, ain’t it, dickhead?”
Tubbo lightly jabbed Tommy’s side.
“I made it, yeah, but you two are staying in it. As long as you’d like it, it’s yours and I won't come in without your explicit permission.”
With a second of baffled confusion, Tubbo cleared their throat and nodded.
“Yeah! Uh. Come in, I guess..?”
It took only a few minutes for Grian to expose the tucked away room by the super smelter setup Tubbo and Tommy were yet to investigate.
“I didn’t feel like decorating a kitchen since I already had so many plans with my megabase..If I had it my way I wouldn’t have made a kitchen at all, but the Jungle Gang of Hermits would’ve been severely disappointed if I was only having menu-crafted food.” He’d casually explain, pulling out a paper towel roll from the shulkerbox as he swiped down the tops and barren counters.
“How many Hermits are in the jungle?” Tubbo asked, brows furrowed. Their tablet’s visual narration was muted, as it repeatedly described Grian wiping off the dust from the counters.
“Ehh..Five? Including me? There’s also Ren, but he’s right on the edge, down in a masa. Beautiful setup he’s got going on.” He’d breezily explain.
Nodding along, Tommy glanced around the room.
“This is cool ‘n all but we don’t have to use this space. You left.. Shitloads of stuff, in the chests.” The blond had pointed out, turning back towards Grian.
With a shrug, Grian hummed dismissively. “Real food’s a much better idea, and i’m fairly certain steak’s most of what I got left, down here. Maybe for dinner but..Not really for breakfast, or anything.”
Tubbo shrugged. “Fair enough, yeah..We don’t exactly..Cook much? I mean- I know I certainly haven’t had the time to get much in me, other than coffee.”
“Ooh, yeah, definitely a good traditional-prepped item.. Other than tea on occasion, I don't tend to stray from crafted food. Even on the days I sit down and eat it like a proper meal.” Grian nodded along, glancing off as he dropped the paper towels he had been using to clean into a little bin.
Tommy sighed, leaning against the wall. His head was pounding from the lack of sleep. “What’s the d-”
He was cut off by a not-so-distant firework bang.
Tubbo flinched and ducked their head down, throwing their arms over their head. Tommy, on the otherhand, lowered to the ground, eyes sealed shut with his hands slammed against his ears.
“Hey! Hey, it’s okay, they’re duds, they’re fireworks! No firework stars, either, just a puff of smoke. You’re both okay. You’re in the hobbit hole. It’s fine, everything’s good.” Grian hushed, giving exaggerated movements as he demonstrated slow breathing.
The blond boy growled, turning to snap at Grian- “We’re not babies! We’re fine.”
Grian nodded, stepping back to give them both more space. “Okay. It’s okay. And it’s alright if it’s not okay. That was probably just Scar. He’s gonna be in and out of there. He’s the closest neighbor.” He had calmly explained to the pair.
Tubbo had deflated, taking a breath. “Thank you. Sorry. Uh. Y-Yeah.” They nodded numbly.
Tommy raised, folded his arms and didn’t meet the gaze of Grian. His face was twisted as he glared down at the floor. He felt weak.
Taking a small breath, Grian tentatively stepped back towards the door. “I’m going to head out and let you guys cool down, okay? You’re both free to go anywhere you want.”
With that, he departed, leaving the two teens alone.
A brief, tense silence fell between them.
“..That was fucking stupid.” Tommy scoffed.
Tubbo’s brows furrowed, turning towards him.
“Excuse you?” They spoke, voice edging towards accusatory.
“They’re gonna fuckin’ think we’re weak, Tubbo-”
“I’m sorry that i’m not a fan of explosions! Yeah- that- that one’s my bad, Tommy.” Tubbo growled, going to step away.
Tommy grabbed their arm with a loose grip. “That doesn't matter, Tubbo, we’re- we’re supposed to be able to do better than that! We look like kids to him. We look like cowards-”
“I’m not a coward, Tommy! Oh, void, can’t you just drop it?” They hissed out, yanking their arm free.
“For the love of Prime- Tubbo. Tubbo, I'm not mad at you! So I need you not to be mad at me-”
“Too late for that!” They spat, rushing themself out the door with a slam.
Left behind was Tommy, tense and red in the face with a growing pit of guilt.
...
The people slowly started to pour back into the server. With everything going as expected, the admin breezily flicked and dismissed his communication screen, leaning back as he rested atop the incomprehensible mess of community chests.
Frequent pings and beeps ran through his ears as the comms went off, mixed with alerts and chatting as people settled back down.
He hadn’t bothered to check the messages until an hour in, when a high-pitched chirp emitted. A private message.
Summoning his screen back, he read over it.
ItsFundy: Hey Dre? My messages aren’t reaching Tubbo. Why aren’t the two back yet?
Dream quietly laughed. The server could use a quick break from them.
It only took a quick flick of the wrist to pull up Tommy and Tubbo’s info. They were both in a world. With the MCC servers closed to the public for maintenance at night, Dream could only assume the two had scampered off to Hypixel or something of the like.
Upon a brief investigation, the servers were left as unlisted.
...Nonetheless, Dream will allow himself to revel in some peace for now. Let them get a little scared. A little more respect for the server-
Dream sneered.
They’re lucky they’re as tolerated as they are, here.
...And without them present, well- that sure will leave L’manburg in an interesting situation…
Dream: Can’t say I know. Sorry. They probably ran off, dont worry too much about them.
Making up his mind, Dream scrolled back to the Player information.
“It would be a shame if they went M.I.A, especially with how fresh the wound on L’manburg is..” He mused.
A click or two on the screen and it was done. They were locked from the server.
“Enjoy yourselves, idiots.” He yawned, kicking his legs off the chests and onto the floor.
His axe was summoned to his hand, and he stalked off, a chill running through the air.

Author's Note:
Sooo, I know I said I probably wouldn't have this out for another while, buuuttt, I didn't have anything for today and this one was just staring at me 🥺. I don't quite have a concrete plan for the full thing, and there's no guarantees for when part two is going to come out. Also I might draw something like last time to use as a banner. The one that's down there is a placeholder.
Anyhoo, I hope you enjoy this! I've been wanting to write this story for almost a year now, and I finally have the chance! If you'd like to be part of the taglist for this story, please message me!
I think that's it. Love you!!

⊱ ──── 《∘🕱∘》 ──── ⊰
A shadow slid across the ocean floor.
Basking in the warmth of the sun, it truly made for an unwelcome interruption. You'd been partaking in a nap only moments prior, mind slowly shifting through half-baked thoughts as the sun shone down onto the sand beneath you. Prompted by the change of brightness and temperature, you blinked your eyes open, rolling over to your back with a lethargic stretch of your arms. Squinting, you frowned up at the surface rippling a considerable distance above you.
There you saw it, some strange shape making its way over the water above. It seemed to be some kind of brownish color, wide and tapered to a point at each end.
Your annoyance faded as curiosity struck you. You didn’t think you’d ever seen anything like it before. You studied it from your vantage point on the ocean floor even as the sunlight reappeared on your relaxed body. It wasn’t as though you were doing anything important right now, you figured. Maybe it was something worth investigating, at least for a short time.
Rousing yourself from the sand, you flicked your tail to propel yourself up in the direction of the object.
You poked your head out of the water, body bobbing up and down with the motions of the waves. You blinked, bringing a hand out of the water in an attempt to shield your vision from the blinding sun. How did anything live up here? It felt as though your eyes were going to dry up and incinerate to nothing.
There it was, the strange object that had cast such a shadow. It was even bigger above water. Mahogany planks shaped it into that odd form, making it float on the ocean, cutting through waves as though they were nothing. Large masts seemed to sprout up from the center like kelp in a forest, sporting billowing white cloths rippling in the air currents.
Ah, yes, it was a boat, and an impressive one at that. You suddenly remembered seeing the ones just like this that couldn’t float anymore, having swum past the ruined, swollen wood during your time in this part of the sea. They were ominous, sitting still on the ocean floor, carrying a dark, somber aura about them as they laid dead where they’d never move again.
But this ship was every meaning of the word alive, shining in the midday sun and skimming dutifully over the bright blue water. Its size might have looked intimidating, but the thing itself was also very intriguing.
Naturally, you swam closer.
The thing was fast, but luckily, so were you. You dived back down, your powerful tail bringing you a few body lengths up to the submerged bottom of the ship. Popping out of the water again, you looked all the way up its side.
Now that you were closer, you thought you heard something. The sounds were new to you, similar to whalesong. But this was deeper, choppier, and somehow harsher. You frowned in the direction of the noises. What was on this boat?
You circled it underwater—careful not to get too close—coming back up a few times to get another look from a different angle.
You had to admit, it carried an odd beauty about it. Something like this must have been built, but the craftsmanship was so intricate, and it was massive . . . .
You sprung up above water again some ways away from it. Perhaps this thing wasn’t as exciting as you’d initially thought. It was a pain to keep up with and the noises coming from it kept hurting your ears.
Just as you turned to leave, a movement caught your eye. There it was, a flash of gold just at the side of the ship. It looked vaguely . . . familiar.
You went closer again to get a better look, and it was then that you met a pair of golden eyes, looking much like those of your people of the sea.
The figure startled as soon as he saw you, blinking and squinting in your direction. He made more of those strange chattering sounds you’d kept hearing, looking behind him and frantically pointing at you with his outstretched hand.
Rude, you thought, but what was a merman doing all the way up there?
A second head appeared next to the first, this one with vibrant, spiky red hair. You experimentally waved at them in greeting, wondering why you couldn’t understand them. Maybe they were from a different ocean you'd never seen.
They both leaned over the side. It looked like they were trying to communicate something to you, but whatever it was, you didn’t get it.
The red haired one turned and left, but was quick to come back with a weird circular object. It was attached to a rope and had an open circle in the middle, just big enough to put the top third of your body through.
To your mild surprise, he tossed it over the side at you, and it landed with surprising accuracy only a tail length away. You swam over to it, picking it up out of the water. It was oddly light—which probably explained why it floated so easily on the waves—and was made out of some strange material.
You glanced dubiously back up at the faces on the side of the ship. They were looking at you with . . . distress? What was this thing? Was it some kind of gift? What were you supposed to do with it? You couldn’t hold it down under the waves, so how were you supposed to bring it back underwater with you?
Either way, you thought it would be rude to decline. You grabbed the rope that was tied to it. It looked as though they were still holding on to the other end. You really wouldn’t be able to take it anywhere if it was still attached to the ship.
You grabbed the rope and tugged. They held onto it. Frustrated, you tugged again. Looking up at their faces, you matched their expressions of confusion. What were you missing here?
Perhaps they were only trying to show it to you. You decided to follow through with your initial idea of putting it around the upper portion of your body. You lifted it over your head—you fit through it okay, at least—and soon it reached the submerged base of your tail.
You floated there for a second. Was this all it was good for? Kind of useless if you asked yourself. Again, you made up your mind to leave. You had better things to do than play silly games with the weirdos in the sky.
Before you could slip back out under the object, you felt yourself being pulled closer to the boat. Now what were they doing?
You frowned up the side again, but this time you couldn’t really see them. They must have stepped back further onto the boat. Intrigued, you let them pull you along with them. You got closer and closer to the side, and finally the rope connecting you to the other end slanted completely vertical. You adjusted yourself so you wouldn’t slide out. Perhaps they were trying to bring you up so they could meet you. You weren’t sure what they’d gain by that, seeing as you couldn’t understand them. Heck, they probably wouldn’t be able to understand you either. But you were still curious. What did the boat look like from up there? It wasn’t all that interesting from the underside, but maybe if you were able to see it from the top . . . .
The two strangers began to haul you out of the water. It was a little scary, you had to admit. Slowly, your body was extracted from the water. Waves slapped against your tail ever lower, and eventually you were fully suspended in midair. You clung tightly to the rope. Glancing back at the sea below, you realized it was a long way down, and the higher you went, the less you were comfortable with the idea of falling.
You'd never been all the way out of the water like this, and it almost felt as though you were flying like those seabirds you'd see living on islands. Except this wasn't as fun. You were meant to swim in the water, not get dragged through the air.
Finally you saw the rim of the ship, and you picked up on the grunting and labored breaths from the two weirdlings you’d seen earlier. You reached up and grabbed onto the side, hoisting your body up. Then you saw them.
These weren’t quite the mermen you were used to. The things that were pulling you up had legs.
You stared at them for a moment, watching fascinated as they walked towards you. Tearing your eyes away from their tailless, split bodies, you glanced back at their faces. Why did they look so concerned? Did they always look like that?
The blond one was the first to reach you. He was quick to grab your hand to help you over the railing, chattering something at you. You let him pull your body up a little higher, and then he froze. To your surprise, he let go of your hand, dropping your bodyweight and causing you to pitch forward. You slid gracelessly to the dry floor of the ship like some kind of overgrown eel, fins and tail meeting the floor of the boat with a wet thud.
You spluttered, annoyed, curling your scaled appendage closer into yourself. “What is this?!” you finally asked.
The blond one had run back to the redhead, pointing frantically and clearly panicked. The red haired one also looked shaken, but otherwise seemed somewhat more collected as he studied you.
“Whatever,” you mumbled, sliding the flotation object off of yourself. “I don’t want this thing anyway.”
You glanced around, taking in the ship up close. It was pretty cool, but in hindsight, it probably wasn’t worth the whole fiasco you’d gone through to get here. The floor was mostly bare, give or take a few stacked boxes here and there. You recognized a net hanging from a pole, one of which you’d seen countless before. Was this where they came from?
“Those things are dangerous,” you said, pointing at it. “I’ve had to cut a lot of animals out of them.”
It was then that the red haired one stepped closer to you. You drew back just a bit, suspicious.
Examining him, you took in the mismatched rings that adorned his ears, and the billowy off-white covering he wore over his chest. The front was open, exposing the tanned skin of his torso. Darker brown fabric covered his lower half, tucked into clunky coverings at the very bottom. Another strip of cloth was tied around his head, making his vibrant hair stick up in odd directions.
He crouched down so you wouldn’t have to crane your neck up to look at him. He tried to say something to you again, but this time his voice wasn’t so loud. It was still foreign to your ears, but it was low and smooth.
You gave him an apologetic expression. “Listen,” you said. “This was fun and all, but I should probably get going.”
You turned and tried to slide yourself closer to the side you’d come from. Much to your annoyance, your tail hindered your movements. You were used to the grace of the water, but now you felt heavy and clunky. Scowling, you tried to pull yourself to the railing with your arms, but nothing was cooperating with you. The boat swayed with the motion of the waves down below, and as soon as you figured you’d made progress, you’d have to fight even harder against the force pulling you back.
You felt something touch your tail, and you whipped around with a threatening hiss, baring your teeth. It was the redhead again, and apparently he’d been the first to notice the rope that had gotten tangled around the fins and scales of your tail. Maybe he was trying to help, but he was touching your tail. You could do it yourself.
Jerking the lower portion of your appendage, you were able to smack him away with your fins. Feelings hurt, he stepped back.
You grabbed at the rope, cursing the fact that you’d ever gotten up from your nap in the first place as you struggled to untangle yourself from the device that had brought you up here. You wondered how you had gotten stuck so bad as you tugged at the coarse material. Seriously, you were so done with this today. You vowed to never go up to another boat again in your life if you could only get off this one—
And then you saw him.
The blond must have left a while ago but now you saw who he’d come back with. It was another being like the other two. He was blond like the first one, but his hair was shorter, spikier, and reminded you of the pale yellow of the sun. He was bigger than the other blond, but smaller than the redhead. You didn’t think you’d ever seen a face so handsome, even among the mermen back where you lived. He bore a scowl on his face, similar to the one you’d been sporting seconds earlier. Strength and authority rolled off him in waves, not only in the way he carried himself but also in the respect he garnered from the others around him.
He was tall, he was hot, and now you were just staring.
The sexy weirdling grumbled something, and you honestly weren’t sure to whom it was intended for until he stepped forward. You were slower to pull away as he approached, almost drawn to him in a strange way.
He knelt in front of you, pulling out a sharp object from a hidden pouch on his hip. Your heart fluttered in momentary fear as he brought it closer to your tail, but soon you saw the way he reached for the rope. Without scarcely touching your scales, he pulled on the material and sliced through it, cutting you free in a few fluid motions. You were caught up in watching him work, silently in awe as his rough hands delicately moved over your body.
Soon, you were able to move again, but before you could, he straightened and lifted your body from the floor. You gasped, clutching at his broad shoulders as you were once again suspended in midair. But this time you felt secure; his arms supporting the weight of your body. He met your eyes for a split second, and you became lost in the pools of orangey-red. They were deep, and bright, and you felt as though you could gaze into them forever.
Then you were hauled above the railing and tossed over the side.
Weightless, you fell back to the sea from which you came. It was surreal, watching his pale face grow smaller and smaller as wind rushed around you and gravity pulled you further away.
No, you thought, still in a daze. You wanted to stay with him, to keep looking at him, to know his name—
But all too quick, your back hit the cold water of the sea, skin stinging from the impact. With an impressive splash, you sank down again to the place you called home.
You didn’t know how to feel now, watching from below as the ship surged on without you. You were astonished and confused, lost and frozen in the deep blue world that surrounded you.
It was then that you vowed to see him again, no matter what.
You were warm—a little giddy—and you were determined.
You were in love.
…
To be continued . . . .

We're a Perfect Harmony PT.5 - Reader x Charlie
Summary: In the last chapter we saw Charlie run off. Why? What happened there? and what will this whole thing mean for Charlie and Emma? And even more important? What will it do for Charlie and Y/N? read this chapter to find out :).
Wordcount: 6997 - it's a long one oopsss.
Other Chapters: 1 / 2 / 3/ 4
It’s gonna be okay..
Our entire group just looked at each other. What just happened? Whatever Charlie’s phone call had been about.. it could not have been good. I wonder if I should go after him.. Then again, Emma is here too shouldn’t she go after him to make sure if he’s okay? Or should we just leave him alone for a second? No one really says anything and I’m guessing we’re all wondering the same thing.. “So.. eh. Should someone go check on him or..?” I then ask. They all just look at me. “What? Was that dumb question or something?” Emma speaks up “No Y/N, it isn’t.. I think we all think you should go check on him..” “Are you sure? I don’t..” I begin but Emma cuts me off “Yeah I’m sure. For some reason I think I would only make things worse right now.” “Right.. and he’ll accept a whole lot more from you than from the rest of us.” Madi then adds “ehh okay..” I say while sharing a look with Emma just to make sure it is really okay if I go. When she gives me a quick nod I get up and walk in the direction Charlie stormed of too..
I try giving him a call to maybe see if he’ll pick up and tell me where he is but he doesn’t answer. I go to check his bedroom but there’s no sign of him there, after checking the entire campground without any success I’m suddenly remembered of the lake Jeremy brought us to last year maybe he went there? When I make my way out of the tiny forest I see Charlie sitting there looking out over the water. I stop in my tracks for a second, debating whether I should go up to him or not. My heart tells me I should go up to him to at least give him a good hug and I decide to listen to that. I silently make my way over to him. “Just leave me alone. please..” he says, the sad sound of his voice breaking my heart. I turn around to walk away but something is stopping me, I can’t walk away from him not when he’s feeling like this.. so even though I know I may regret it, I turn back around and sit down next to him. As soon as I sit down I notice the fact that tears had been rolling over his cheeks, making my heart break even more for him and I instantly pull him into a very tight hug. “Sorry Charlie. I can’t..” I just tell him softly. The fact that he puts his arms around me and hugs me back so tight I can barely breath tells me it’s okay that I’m there. I can feel Charlie begin to shake and as he buries his face into my neck I soon feel my neck and shoulder getting wet with tears. “hey , hey .. it’s okay.. I don’t know what’s going but it’s gonna be okay.. I got you.” I calmly talk to him slowly running one hand up and down his back to comfort him while the other arm holds him tight. We just sit there like that for what seems to be hours and that’s completely fine I’ll sit here with him, like this, until he calms down enough to get back to camp with me. I don’t care if it take days, I’m not letting him go. After a while he seems to calm down and I slowly try to move back a bit to look at him but Charlie tightens his grip on me and just mumble whispers a: “no.” without any hesitation i just hug him tightly again “I’m not going anywhere Charlie don’t worry.. We can stay here as long as you want okay?”
What has gotten this boy so upset? Who had called him and what did they say? I was so used to Charlie always being happy, cheerful and positive through everything. I never even imagined I would ever see him like this.. I found myself getting sad just by how sad he was and the fact that I desperately wanted to make him feel better but I had no clue how was making me feel frustrated.. Charlie must have felt me tense up cause now it’s him running his hand up and down my back to calm me down. “It’s okay y/n” he whispers. “No it isn’t Charlie.. What’s wrong? What just happened..” I say softly while still sitting there hugging each other tightly. “It’s nothing. Don’t worry about me nugget.” I can tell he tries his best to make me believe it. I let out a deep sigh “Charlie please just talk to me..” I feel him shake his head in the crook of my neck. “Charlie, please.” I say more firm this time. “You can’t keep this all to yourself.. let me be there for you..” I then say in the same soft tone as before.
Another long silence and just sitting there holding each other follows before eventually Charlie speaks up. “It’s my parents..” I wait for him to continue but he doesn’t. “What about them? Are they okay?” I ask him. He sighs and then let’s go of me so he can look at me, the look on his face breaks my heart all over again. “They uh.. they haven’t had the best relationship over the last few years.. me and my siblings were well aware of that you know but every fight always got made up again and then things would be okay for a little while before it got bad again.. but like I said it has been like that for years.. we we’re used to it. In a strange way it was all sort of okay? but now..” He falls silent as I see a few more tears forming in his eyes, I reach out to touch his arm in a sort of comforting manner and give him an empathetic look. “Now that’s all gonna change.. they’re getting a divorce.. and I.. I’m gonna have to live with my mom.. cause you know my dad is gone for work a lot.. but my mom wants to find a completely new place somewhere else .. And I just..” his voice breaks as during all that the tears started falling again. I pull him close to me just hugging him not sure what to say, I felt so bad for him. His entire life had changed in the span of one phone call.. “I’m so sorry.. I.. I don’t really know what to say.. thank you for telling me though, you shouldn’t go trough things like this alone Chewie. I mean obviously you have your siblings but you gotta let people in sometimes.. it’s okay to not be okay and share that..” he lets out the smallest laugh “Did you just call me Chewie?” “yeah.. I’ve been nugget for a year now and I’ve been thinking about a nickname for you.. this one just came out? Sorry?” I can feel myself starting to blush, but the fact it gave him a reason to let out a small laugh makes me happy. He slowly makes his way out of my arms and looks at me with a serious face “No don’t apologize, Chewie Charlie.. it has a nice ring to it. And thank you for making me tell you Nugget.. I really tend to keep things for myself, I don’t want to bother anyone else with my struggles or sadness I’d rather be happy and positive you know. but it’s gonna be nice to have someone to talk to about this..” “Please know you can always talk to me.. You’re not bothering me by telling me you’re not feeling okay. We’re friends, right Char? to me that means having fun but also and maybe even more so being there when things aren’t so fun..” “Yeah no. to me too. And I am that friend to others, I just..” he sighs and falls silent. “You just don’t want to use that part of friendship from others?” I finish his sentence for him. “yeah exactly..” I nod at that “I get that you know.. I feel the same way.. Shall we make a deal? A deal to use each other’s part of that friendship?” “Yeah.. I like that deal.. I’ll make that deal with you Nugget.” I smile at him “Good. It’s settled then Chewie.” He laughs at that. “There’s that laugh I know and love. Hey do you think you’re ready to get back to the rest? Or do you want to stay here a little longer?” I ask him.
“Well.. as much as I love sitting here with you. We should probably get back I bet they’re wondering where we are.. Oh god I bet Emma is freaking out about us sneaking off..” he let’s out a sigh at that realization. “Uhm. Yeah, about that.. I don’t think so.. It was actually her idea that I would go after you and the others agreed so.. We’re not being sneaky if that’s what you think.” He seems surprised about that. “She what? Really? I did not expect that.. still we should go back though I don’t want them to get worried.. but can we keep this whole thing between us for now?” I grab his hand and stand up “Of course. I’m not gonna tell anyone. Come on Chewie.” He gets up and still holding my hand we walk back to the campground it’s only when we get there that I realize we’re still holding hands and I quickly let go of it. Not that it meant anything but that’s obviously not what others would think. Once we get back to our group Emma is the first one to fly over to Charlie to embrace him in a hug and kiss his cheek. I pick up on a quick are you okay from her side and a yeah thank you from Charlie’s side. The others then soon stand up to give Charlie a big hug as well. It turns into a group hug with Charlie in the middle and I just stand there taking it all in, that is until I get pulled into that hug as well by Owen. “You should be a part of this too” he just simply states. The rest of the day goes by somewhat normally. Charlie went back to his ‘I’m-always-happy-self’ which I know isn’t how he’s actually feeling but maybe the him just going along with everything is actually a nice distraction of the whole situation.
Later that night I’m chilling with the boys while Charlie and Emma are spending some time together she was now getting the news of what’s going on.. “soo.. Is Charlie okay?” Jeremy asks me. “He seemed to be okay when you two came back” Owen says. “Well.. I think he will be okay. you know what he’s like.. finding a way to turn everything into something positive..” I tell them. “yeah you’re right.. You we’re gone for quite a while though? Was it that bad? Was he mad at you for coming after him?” Owen asks. I sigh, I’m glad they’re not asking super specific questions Charlies story isn’t mine to tell at all “Well.. He wasn’t mad although he told me to leave him alone at first. In the end it was all good though. We talked and laughed and that’s how he got ready to come back to the group.” “Did he tell you what was going on?” Jer then asks me. “Yeah he did..” I simply state not going any further into detail. I see Owen and Jeremy share a look before looking at me with a smile. “What?” I ask. “You, really are something special aren’t you?” Owen states. When I just give then a confused look Owen explains “Charlie is not a talker. I mean he is a talker, but when it’s very personal, when It’s something that comes close to his own feelings? He doesn’t talk. He’ll pretend everything is fine. We’ve been his friend for like 7 years but he always refused to talk. And then you come in and suddenly he’s a real talker..” for some reason that makes me blush.. “Well .. I don’t know. I may have pushed him a bit, I don’t think.. “ Jer interrupts me “You don’t think we’ve tried pushing him? This is all you Y/N. You apparently have this thing Charlie needs to really truly open up.” “Well. IF that’s true. Then I’m glad. No one should walk around keeping everything to themselves. Anyway.. I’m actually pretty tired so I’m gonna go to bed okay? Wish Emma and Charlie a goodnight for me?” I say while getting up and hugging Jer and Owen goodnight. “We will! Goodnight Y/N!”
When I’m in bed I hear my phone buzz shortly, I pick it up and see Charlie messaged me. “Are you okay Nugget? Going to bed that early doesn’t seem very youuu.” Reading that makes me smile “Yeah, I’m okay. Sorry I was really tired, it was a bit of an intense day I guess? Are you okay?” “Yeah I’m pretty tired too actually.” That answers my question.. Him not answering my question tells me enough. “Are you still up?” I ask him. “ “Yeah, I’m on my way to our sleeping building though. why?” I don’t even hesitate for a second and silently get out of my bed again I make my way out of our room to the entrance of the building we sleep in. When I spot Charlie I literally run towards him he opens his arms for me and I run into them pulling him into a hug. “What are you doing up, you dork?” “You didn’t answer my question Charlie. Which told me you needed a hug.” He lets out a small laugh “Wow. You’re getting good at this whole REALLY knowing me thing.” He says while letting go of me a smile growing on his face when he notices my Rush t-shirt. “Weeeell, SOMEONE decided to let me in today. The thing is Charlie, once you let me in it’s very hard to get rid of me and very hard to hide things from me. “ “Good. Cause I don’t want you to go anywhere Nugget.” I smile at him. “So do you want to talk about it or?” “Nahh not now anyway, we should go to bed. Thanks for coming out to hug me though. I did need that.” “You’re very welcome Chewie, going to bed without a hug felt wrong anyway. Now we’re all good.” I say jokingly while actually being totally serious. That hug before bed did genuinely make a difference it made me feel safe and peaceful before going to bed. I loved it. But he didn’t need to know that though.
The next day everything seems to be back to normal. Well.. Emma isn’t sitting next to Charlie that’s different.. but I’m sure that means nothing right? they don’t have to be stuck together all the time.. plus they both seem to be in pretty okay moods so I’m guessing everything is fine. I can’t let my thoughts dive into that situation too much though because the head camp councilors are trying to get our attention. They tell us that today we’ll be cycling through the neighborhood playing some games and at the end will be doing a survival run. I’m not gonna lie, the survival run gets me nervous.. I’m not the best at sports. Now that in itself has never been a problem at least not with this group.. but at school, sports was basically the time where I felt most insecure, I would always get picked last, people we’re annoyed if I had to be on their team and for some reason I was afraid that would happen today. That I would hold my group back big time, that I would be clumsy and not be able to do half of the things afraid that I would feel like I was dying after one obstacle.. and through all that afraid I would just annoy my group of friends. I find myself starting to think about different excuses as to why I would not be able to do the survival run. Maybe I’ll just pretend to fall and hurt my ankle? My mind keeps running in full speed panic mode for a while until Charlie snaps me out of it.
“Hey, you okay?” he asks me sort of quietly “Yeah, yeah I’m fine. Why?” That obviously was a total lie and Charlie knew that too. He gives me a really? Kind of look and just says “Remember our deal?.” I sigh he wasn’t gonna give this up and I knew that. “I remember. Trust me, I’m okay. I’ll tell you what’s up later okay?” He agrees and as soon as we’re on our bikes I find Charlie and tell him honestly about the thoughts I had that morning and about where those thoughts are coming from. He never says a word and just hums every now and then to let me know he’s listening and understands what I’m saying. When I fall silent Charlie speaks up “You do realize we would never do that you right? I would never let anyone do that to you.” “yeah I know that. But it still get’s me nervous. Not that I think you’ll be mean but maybe just that I can’t do it. And that you’ll all fly through it super easily.. “ Charlie just shakes his head “Y/N! stop that. Stop thinking like that. You can totally do it! and we’re supposed to be a team so that means helping each other out! It’s gonna be fun. Trust me. Get out of that pretty head of yours and just enjoy today. “ Totally missing the fact that he called me pretty I instantly have my defense ready “but..” that’s all I can say before he cuts me off again “No. no buts. We’re gonna enjoy this, you can do this. I’m happy to have you on my team and I promise to not leave you behind I’m gonna help you out if that’s needed okay? Just calm down.. Please.” I let out a deep sigh, “Fine. Trusting you on this one Gillespie.” He let’s out a laugh. “That’s better.”
So far the whole day actually is fun but when the obstacle run comes up I noticeably take a deep breath. Charlie comes up to me, looks me in my eyes and just says ; “ You got this Nugget.” Some obstacles end up being insanely high and while Charlie basically flies over them he always comes back for me, the entire group is ready to help me out and we actually end up having a lot of fun. I felt like I was dying, I was totally out of breath, I felt incredibly clumsy but it was good. All my fears had been for nothing, sure I wasn’t good at this but the way my friends dealt with this , the way Charlie dealt with this made it all okay. When we get to the finish I just fall down in the grass, totally feeling dead after giving it my all. My entire group just follows my lead, Charlie falling down next to me. “see. Told you, you could do it. You gave it your all and did so good! You can be proud of yourself.” Madison picks up on that and adds “Yessss. You totally killed it! Well doneee Y/N!” I cant help but smile “Thanks guys. Really. I would not have gotten here if it wasn’t for you.” And I wasn’t just talking about making it to this finish. Those people had each in their own way had such a positive impact on my life, I would not be where I am now if it wasn’t for them.. On the way back to camp I find myself next to Sacha we’re just talking about what he thinks of the camp so far and end up playing a weird game whoever can get the most people to say hi back to them. The fact that we’re riding next to each other and with that greeting the same people and with that getting the same Hi’s doesn’t seem to matter. We’re having a bit of fun and having some bonding time which maybe helps others sort of believe that I’m actually liking Sacha even though I’ve been spending a crazy amount of time with Charlie.. I was just 100% lost in Charlies world and basically forgot about the fact I was supposed to not be doing that, almost forgot I had planned on hiding my feelings from everyone somewhere way down deep. But how could I if he was being so cute and sweet and supporting and incredibly good looking? He was just not making it THAT easy..
When it became late in the evening me and the girls were just chilling on our beds all pretty tired from the long and active day we had. “Soo.. You and Sacha seem to be getting along pretty well.” Sav hints at me. “I mean.. Yeah he’s nice, talented and just overall an easy going person. What’s there not to like or not to get along with?” “Yeah I can see that. He’s a cool guy!” Jadah agrees with me. “Sooo, will you be asking him out on a date then?” Emma asks me. I for some reason did not see that one coming. “I ehh.. I.. I don’t know? I mean I’m just getting to know him I don’t think I should ask him something like that just yet you know?” Mads who also sleeps in a top bunkbed just gives me a look not buying this whole ‘I like Sacha-thing’ for one bit. “Really? I think you should give it a try, seems to me like he’s having a good time with you!” Emma encourages me. “I don’t know Em.. I really don’t think we’re quite ready for that yet.” “No I think Emma is right y/n! Maybe just ask him to hang out at the end of the week!” Jadah says. “I think you should go for it Y/N” Savannah adds to that. “I mean yeah, maybe at the end of the week I’ll ask him to just hang out. I can do that.” Just that earns me a few cheers from the girls. It’s lovely that they’re rooting for me and encouraging me to go for it especially since they think I like him, and I do as a friend but I don’t want to go out dating him.. that would not be fair to Sacha at all. Thankfully the topic of boys is dropped pretty quickly only to move on to talking about our celebrity crushes.. I was missing my late nights with Charlie.. but I wasn’t gonna lie just a night like this with the girls was actually very fun as well. I fell asleep as a very happy girl that night.
Waking up the next morning I’m actually well rested and in a good mood, instead of my sort of grumpy still half dead morning self. It’s quite early and everyone still seems to be asleep, I get out of my bed, freshen up and make my way outside. The sun is shining and I’m greeted by birds singing their morning songs, while taking a deep breath I just sit down and take in the peaceful scene. Not long after I hear some footsteps behind me which is soon followed by two arms being thrown around me from behind. Without even actually seeing who it was I just know it’s him.. “Good morning Charlie.” “Morning Nugget! You sound incredibly awake for this hour of day.” he jokes in his morning voice as he sits down next to me. “Right?! A certain someone did not keep me up till 4 am last night. look at the difference that makes!” I tease him right back. his face now showing an over acted offended look “Hey! No need to get all mean about it. I thought you loved those Late nights with Gillespie.” I let out a laugh “Late nights with Gillespie? You’re gonna have to work on that name dude..” “Oof. You really have it out for me today ey?” “Sorry. In all seriousness though. you are gonna have to work on that name, it sounds..questionable. But I do love those late nights yeah and I may or may not have missed spending that time with you..” I softly bump into him after saying that. “Sooo…. Late nights with Gillespie is on again for tonight?” he asks in a playful tone. I just look at him for a second “IF you stop calling it that. Then yes.” I laugh. “ Coool. Team no sleep is back! but first, join me for breakfast?” He says as he gets up and holds out his hand for me. I had not noticed the fact that now the entire camp had woken up and were all making their way to breakfast.. I smile up at Charlie and take his hand to let him help me up.
When we get to breakfast our group is already there as Charlie makes his way over to Emma to give her a good morning kiss Emma quickly turns her head so the kiss lands on her cheek. They share a quick look but don’t say anything. Something wasn’t right between them I was sure about that now, there’s a hint of pain and confusion in Charlie’s eyes and sadness in Emma’s.. I know it’s their problem, I know I should stay out of it, I know it’s none of my business but I couldn’t help feeling like I should fix it. Feeling like I should help them out in some way.. so after breakfast I go up to Emma, not sure of what I actually want to do or say..
“Hey Em.. Can we talk for a second?” I just ask her and she agrees following me to the spot where we had been talking earlier that week. “What’s up Y/N?” she asks as soon as we sat down. “I eh.. I guess I just wanted to make sure you we’re doing okay?” She sighs and is silent for a second , it looks as if she’s debating on what to say so I just give her the time and space to think. “Well.. I was gonna say yes but I have the feeling you know that is not true so.. no not really.” I nod “Yeah I uhh couldn’t help pick up on a few signs.. Want to talk to me about what’s wrong?” “I don’t even really know..” she sounds sad when saying that. “What is it that you don’t know? would I be wrong if I said there might be something going on with you and Charlie?” she lets out a small laugh “of course you picked up on that..” I decide to ignore that comment and stay silent in hopes that she will continue and luckily she does “listen before I get into this. I know I’m handling it all wrong okay? So you know the whole situation Charlie is dealing with right? I knew his parents were fighting every now and then but not as much as they apparently were he never talked to me about those things and that kind of annoys me? Why is he keeping all those things from me? I’m his girlfriend shouldn’t I know everything? I just want to be there for him.. but it’s like he won’t let me? And the fact he’s gonna move and neither of us know where makes me scared I will end up losing him and I think that fear is making me push him away already? And I don’t want to do that but I do? But he’s also just letting that happen?” I take a deep breath trying to collect my thoughts. I can see why she’s scared of losing him and I can understand that she wants to know what he’s going through but at the same time I want to yell at her all angry for only making Charlie hurt more than he already is in his current situation.. I try to calmly get my point across “Have you tried just talking to him about everything yet? You can’t expect him to understand what you want and need if you don’t tell him.. just denying some kisses is not gonna tell him anything ems.. and yes. You’re his girlfriend so even though you may be scared, he’s the one that needs your support right now. Give that to him. Don’t make this harder on him than it already is..” I see her swallow “I don’t.. “ she begins but I stop her. “You do know how. Talk to him. TODAY.” She shakes her head “I’m leaving later today and I still have to pack and..” I once again interrupt her. “Stop that. You’re talking to him now. I’m gonna go look for Charlie. I will send him here, and you will talk to him.” I see a glance of panic in her eyes. “Calm down you got this. Just be honest with him.” I walk off and quickly find Charlie “Hey nugget..” before saying anything I pull him in for a quick hug. “Hey, uhh you should go talk to Emma..” I see his eyes widen a bit, making me realize he’s probably expecting the worst now.. “No don’t worry. It’s gonna be okay. she just has to let you in on a few things.. You’ll be okay I promise.” I give him one last hug before sending him off in Emma’s direction. I just hoped this conversation would go well and Charlie would feel a bit better soon..
There’s no sign of either of them for several hours and even though I wanted to go look for Charlie, making sure he’s okay I didn’t. They needed this time together and I had to give it to them. To distract myself from it all I found the rest of the group that were just playing some games and jamming out to some music and that helped. They really were the best kind of distraction. Late in the afternoon Charlie and Emma find us again both looking a lot happier, they’re holding hands and Charlie is holding some of Emma’s bags in his other hand. When they reach us Charlie tells Emma he’ll bring her bags to the car giving Emma some space to say goodbye to all of us. As soon as I stand up she pulls me in for a hug. “Thank you Y/N. Thank you so much. You have no idea how much you’ve just helped me. You’re a good friend. I’ll be missing you. “ I smile at the big difference between this moment now and this moment last year. “No problem ems. I’m glad we got to know each other and actually became friends. And hey, I’m only a face time call away!” I let go of her and she says goodbye to the rest of the group too. Then I see her and Charlie sharing a good goodbye kiss. That view makes me smile, it’s not that I liked seeing him kiss her, not at all.. but I loved seeing him more happy. That’s all I wanted, I wanted him to be happy.
Once it became ‘late night with Gillespie’ o’clock, Charlie and me found ourselves in the middle of that same field as a few nights before. At first we just sit there but Charlie soon decides to lie down. “Come here?” he asks holding his hand out for me, I take it and he pulls me closer to him into a hug. “I don’t know what you did today. I don’t know what you did to Emma, but thank you. You’re a lifesaver Nugget.” He says softly. “I didn’t do anything Charlie.. I just kind of pushed her into talking to you.. I hated seeing you both be sad..” I just lie there Charlie’s arm around me, my head on his chest hearing his steady heartbeat. Usually that sound creeps me out, but now it’s the most calming thing in the world. Out of nowhere I feel a quick and soft kiss on the top of my head. “I wouldn’t call that nothing. Thank you, just please accept me being thankful.” I’m speechless for a second, overwhelmed by the amount of butterflies in my stomach. Suddenly I’m very aware of how we’re laying there and suddenly I feel like we shouldn’t be.. I wiggle my way out of his grip only to lie my head back down on his stomach. That for some reason feels less wrong and still gives me the chance to be close to him. “Fine then. You’re welcome.” I say. He let’s out a laugh and starts to, what feels like braid my hair. After a comfortable silence Charlie speaks up again “Soo, how are things with you and Sacha?” Well I’m here trying to get as close to you as possible without it being wrong.. how do you think it’s going? Is what I would like to say to him but instead I say: “Oh eh, I don’t know? He’s nice, we’re able to have fun he’s incredibly talented..” “But you don’t like him like that?” that answer makes me choke on my own breath. “What? What makes you say that?” he laughs “You okay there nugget? I just think you deserve better than someone who’s nice and talented and I think you would sound a whole lot different if you really liked him like that. I’ve heard you fangirl, I know what you sound like when you love someone..” “oh. Right. well I think you may have a point there. The girls were all telling me I should ask him out on a date but I feel like that wouldn’t be fair to him.” “If you don’t like him don’t do it. You deserve the absolute best in this world Y/N. Don’t ever go for anything that wouldn’t make you a 100% happy.” “Thanks Chewie. That’s actually some good advice.” He gasps “Actually some good advice?! You make me sound like I’m the worst.” I laugh “You know that’s not what I meant! You know I think you’re far from that..” “oh? I don’t know nugget I think you need to remind me again” He teases. “You sure about that? We could be here a while you know.” “I mean I would like to be here a while but you don’t have to remind me. I know.” “Well. Actually. I do still have to thank you for that whole survival thing. You literally got me through that Charlie. You’ve been getting me through a whole lot.. I actually may have to admit that I think you’re the best..” “Ahh thanks Nugget. I don’t want to ruin this braid I’m making but I would have hugged you otherwise..” I laugh “You enjoying braiding my hair Gillespie?” “Actually yes, there’s something strangely calming about it. I can’t promise you it will look good though..” “That’s fine by me.” We lie there a little longer just talking about all kinds of things until Charlie runs out of hair to braid and we agree on calling it a night.
After a short 3 hours of sleep the last full day of camp has arrived. I was not gonna lie that realization made me a bit sad, I was not ready to let go of all those people again. I just lie in my bed smiling at the sight of Mads, Sav and Jadah waking up. “What are you smiling about Y/L/N?” Jadah asks me. “I’m guessing it’s Charlie.” Mads just blurts out. This girl really had been waiting for the second Emma left so she could be real with me again huh? “Nooooo. Actually it’s not. Not Charlie or Sacha either. I just was enjoying the not waking up alone for that last time.” As I get up the girls burst out in laughter. “Oof your hair.. Looking gooood Y/N” Sav jokes. I’m confused for a second only to then remember what Charlie had done.. “Oooh. Yes.. Right forgot about that..” “See. Called it. It was Charlie.” Mads teases. I groan at her while taking the braids out of my hair not that doing that made my hair look any better. I guess today I was gonna go for lion mane instead normal human hair.. When arriving to breakfast I sit down next to Charlie. “Morning Y/N. I like your hair today.” He jokes “Oh shut up Gillespie. This is all your fault.” That fact only makes him laugh. I try to keep a straight face but how can I when he’s laughing like that? I can’t help but smile with him and just embrace the hair.
The rest of the day was mainly focused on playing games that would decide who the best group on camp was that week but since our group had no chance of winning that title anyway we just chilled. We watched the other groups play their games while we we’re singing them random songs. At some point Charlie sat down behind me and told me to lean back against his legs once I did that I felt his hands on my shoulders and the back of neck, this boy casually decided on giving me a massage. I don’t know why he did it. He didn’t say anything and neither did I. We just sat there like that for a good while still singing some songs as I felt myself relax more and more under Charlie’s touch, I apparently had been super tense without even realizing it.. When i locked eyes with Madison for a second she just shoots me a ‘I KNEW IT!” kind of look. I smile at her, deciding to ignore it and close my eyes purely focusing on the things Charlie was doing and let me tell you, I fully enjoyed all those things and I found myself thinking about how he could totally do this more often if he wanted to..
But then Charlie’s phone rings, he gently pushes me forward a tiny bit so he can get up and take this call. Not long after he returns, his face tells me it wasn’t the best phone call he had ever gotten. “You alright?” I ask when he’s sat down beside me. “Yeah.. eh the moving thing is just happening a lot sooner than I thought.. I’ll be on your bus tomorrow we’re staying with my grandma for a while and she lives somewhat close to you..” “oh.. That’s unexpected.. I’m sorry it’s all happening so fast now Charlie..” he sighs “yeah me too..” from that moment on we all silently agreed on basically just ignoring that fact for now. Charlie and Sacha spent some more time jamming Owen joins them drumming on random things, Jer joins in on me and the girls conversation and this how we spend our time until dinner.
After dinner the tradition of staying up all night begins. We end up playing 30 seconds again this time though we’re playing with mixed teams I’m in a team with Madi, Savannah and Charlie playing against Jadah, Sacha , Owen and Jeremy. I, already being tired, am cuddled up against Charlie which he seems to be fine with and no one else seems to question either. Owen and Savannah are once again screaming at each other over every little thing and the rest of us are just having fun with it. The night flies by like that until it’s time to go and watch the sunrise we agreed to make that our own little group tradition. The entire night I never left Charlie’s side and now sitting here on by the little lake that does not change he actually just hugs me closer to him and when he feels me shiver from the cold he takes of his hoodie and offers it to me. “are you sure?” I ask him. “Yes nugget. you’re cold. put it on.” I gladly obey to that order, as soon as I’m wearing the hoodie he pulls me close again. “You know what. It looks good on you nugget.” By the way he whispers that to me I can tell he’s incredibly tired as well. And I can’t blame him for that he’s had a crazy week.. “Might be keeping it then Gillespie.” I tease him. “Ha. In your dreams Y/L/N. It’s my favorite. I’ll make sure to pack it again next year though. I promise.” We then fall silent again just enjoying each other’s company in this beautiful piece of nature watching the world slowly come to life again.
We then quickly pack our bags and say our goodbyes, we agree on figuring out a way to all meet up some time during the year so we won’t have to miss everyone for THAT long. After giving everyone a last hug and wave Charlie and me get on the bus. “I guess this is one positive to me living with my grandma.. maybe we can now actually hang out sometime instead of always face timing?” He sounds hopeful. “Yeah I would like that. I promised you everything would be okay.. I’ll do what I can to make that come true. The occasional real life hug might help?” “Thanks nugget. You’re the best.” without even thinking about it I rest my head on his shoulder. “Anytime.” I tell him while closing my eyes. I feel him resting his head on top of mine and within minutes we both fall asleep like that..

DAY 8 of @flufftober2021
Cooking Lessons
Summary: Mitsuya helps Takemichi with a new recipe and learns that Chifuyu and Hakkai should never be allowed to help in the kitchen.
Tittle: Cooking Lesson [ao3]
Author: Vividly_Violet
Fandom: Tokyo Revengers
Relationship: Mitsuya Takashi & Hanagaki Takemichi
Rating: General
Word Count: 1113
Takashi thought he'd have the morning all to himself. It was a national holiday so there was no school. His little sisters, Mana and Luna, were at their friends house for a play date. His mother was out to the spa courtesy of his treat - having saved up enough money for her birthday present - and no toman activity till later tonight.
This was the first time he found himself not fussing over his siblings, clubmates or Toman members in need of some scolding or patching up and such he found himself slump over the couch with nothing to do. Until his phone rang. And the familiar name of their resident crybaby captain of the first division flashed on the screen.
"Hello? Takemitchy?" he asked over the silence. He was about to end the call, thinking that the blond might have dialed his number accidentally when a loud thud was heard from the other side, followed by breaking glass. Alarmed, the second division jumped up from his seat and started yelling on his phone.
"Takemitchy! Takemitchy! Hey what's going on? Answer me!" he demanded frantically as he put on his shoes, barely remembering to lock the apartments door before he found himself running in the street. There was another round of shouting, and somehow he could pick up Matsuno's voice over the loud clanging at the background.
"My house, help!" was all he heard from his former charge before the call ended abruptly. Mitsuya picked up his pace and quickly made his way to Takemichi's house.
卍 卍 卍 卍
The door to the Hanagaki's residence was unlock, that was enough to increase the teens worry and without hesitation he burst inside only to be met with the first and second divisions vice captain sitting on the floor of the living room, face bruised and covered in sooth.
"Hakkai? Chifuyu? What happened?" he asked, scanning the room for danger.
"Taka-chan!" his vice wailed and Chifuyu looked like he was about to burst in to tears too.
"H-Hey, what happened? Where's Takemitchy?" before the teary eyed teens could answer, said person emerged from the stairs with a box of first aid kit.
"Ahh Mitsya-kun!" the blond cried. "Thank god you're here!"
"What exactly is happening, I thought you were being attacked?" Mitsuya asked, letting his guard down seeing as there was no real danger.
All three froze, Hakkai and Chifuyu looking away in guilt and Takemichi looking like he wanted to collapse.
"It was Chifuyu and Hakkai's fault!" Takemichi cried out. "These idiots wanted to try and help me cook but they didn't tell me they have no idea what they were doing. They almost burned up the house!"
"We said we were sorry!"
卍 卍 卍 卍
When Takemichi said the pair of vice captains almost burned down the house, Takashi would have said that the blond was exaggerating if he hadn't seen the state of the kitchen himself.
Broken bowls and glassware littered the floor, scorched marks could be seen on the wall opposite of the stove. Charred pots that's beyond saving and ingredients stuck on the ceiling. It looked like a storm found itself inside. Takashi side eyed the vices noting the red imprint of probably a pan on Hakkai's cheek and the slightly singed hair of Chifuyu, he mentally added to his mental list to never invite the two anywhere near the kitchen or anything that involves cooking.
"Right. Hakkai, Chifuyu clean this place up. Takemichi what were you planning on cooking. Might as well help up." the blond went star eyed at the captains words. Immediately perking up like a puppy greeting its owner before bringing up a notebook.
"I wanted to try making dorayaki, it was my first time so I didn't thought much of it when Hakkai-kun and Chifuyu offered their help, but ehh this happened." the blond gestured to the room.
"Anyway, aside from the traditional red bean filling, I wanted yo use this ube halaya? ube jam filling? from the Philippines for it too."
Takashi read over the steps of the dorayaki and the separate steps for this ube halaya thing, which was something akin to purple yam jam and thought it over. It might be possible to make one with that filling as well. Mitsuya closed the notebook and looked over to his fellow captain.
"I know how to make dorayaki, I can help teach you with that but I'm unfamiliar with ube halaya so we'll learn as we go."
"Ahh thank you so much!"
While they waited for their vices to clean up the kitchen the pair went ahead and readied the ingredients. Making sure that Chifuyu and Hakkai cleared up the stove area first so they could start with the fillings so it has time to cool off before they make the dorayaki.
The red bean was slowly being boiled, while that was being done Mitsiya carefully read over the recipe of the Halaya, occasionally smacking Hakkai's hand from taking another spoon of condensed milk.
"Go back to cleaning." he would occasionally remind the vices.
Takashi kept a close eye on the shredded ube as it softened in the pot of coconut milk, sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk and sugar. Moments later he added vanila and some ube extract as he stirred it slowly as it turned in to a bright purple paste. Behind him Takemichi watched with focus. The second division captain chuckled at the blonds serious expression before handing him the spatula and instructing him to take over the stirring before he set his attention to making the other filing.
After both the anko and halaya were done and set in a container and left to cool off, Mitsuya set off on instructing Takemichi on measuring the flour and amount of sugar he needed to put in as well as how many eggs they'll need for the batter.
Nearly 30 minutes or so they had a pile of warm almost handsized disk of fluff and the pair of competent cooks and two kitchen nightmares set about putting in the filling, pressing it carefully so it wouldn't open up.
When they were done, Chifuyu and Hakkai dutifully cleaned up the remaining mess and afterwards was rewarded with a plate of halaya and red bean filled dorayaki and cold ice tea which they gratefully devoured.
"Hmm you'll be giving this to Mikey tonight? Right?" Mitsuya asked as he dug into his own food. The tip of Takemichi's ears flushed red.
"I— I don't know what you're talking about!" stuttered the teen as he stuffed his mouth. The older teen chuckled, digging in to his dorayaki.
"Whatever you say,... Ahh this is good." Mitsuya said to himself taking another bite.

You’ll Be Okay
I'm so sorry for doing this. I've had the idea stuck in my head for almost a month now and I just had to write it. Reader is about 17 in story.
Natasha x Daughter!Reader goes to Vormir with Natasha and Clint.
WARNING: death
As you, your mother, and your uncle arrive on Vormir you can't help the thought that something terrible is going to happen. As you guys climb up the mountain to retrieve the soul stone you try your hardest to push the feeling away.
You didn't let your dread show on your face though as you knew very well from a young age how to not let your emotions plaster on yourself and just to bottle them up to show no fear. You were an assassin's daughter after all.
As you climb one step at a time looking across the in some twisted way beautiful planet. Another thing is on your mind though. Getting everyone back.
"Everything okay Y/N?" Your mother asks. Even though she trained you to keep your emotions hidden she had a motherly instinct telling her you were unsettled.
"I'm fine. I really hope this works though. Getting everyone back." She rubs your back gently and you feel less stiff at her touch.
"It will. We'll get them all get back." Clint says with a grin. You smirk slightly at the word "all." How amazing it would be to see all of them again. Please let things go smoothly, you plea with the universe in your head.
The universe however had another fate for you.
As you all reach the top your mother speaks again. "I bet the raccoon didn't have to climb a mountain."
"Technically he's not a raccoon." Clint says with a huff.
"Whatever he still eats trash." You respond siding with Natasha. Just then a new voice appears from behind you guys. You instantly grab your dagger on the side of your hip and aim it and the being.
"Natasha daughter of Ivan." 'What the hell?' Your mother never mentioned her father before. Your grandfather. She swear she looked slightly confused for a second but then went back to her stern face as he kept talking."Clint son of Edith. Y/N daughter of Natasha."
"Who the hell are you?" You question as he appears to float closer.
"Consider me a guide. To you and to all that seek the soul stone."
"Oh good, you tell us where it is then and we'll be on our way." Natasha confidently says as you try to get a better look at his face. You see his face is the shape of a skull with no nose and it's all red. The rest of his body his hidden under his cloak. Or even if there is a body.
"Ah libechen. If only it were that easy."
He guides you three to the edge of the cliff. You look down and stare into the hard concrete ground far below from the mountain's peak.
"Ehh..worst that could happen is a broken leg." You joke trying to make light of the situation but Clint and your mom are dead silent.
"What you seek lies in front of you. As does what you fear."
"The stone is down there." Natasha says with sad eyes. You know she's thinking about jumping but your going to make sure that none of them die for this stone. None but one.
"For one of you. For the other, in order to take the stone you must loose what which you love." They love you right? Yes, they do. All you've ever grown up with was love from your family.
That uneasy feeling you got earlier was knowing that you were meeting your end of the tunnel. Your time was up on this universe. The devastating truth was you were going to say goodbye, without saying hello to the ones that got turned to dust. You never got to say goodbye to the rest of your family.
"An everlasting exchange. A soul for a-" You cut him off getting very annoyed at his speech.
"Yeah, yeah. I think we get it Voldemort!"
*****
As you and your mother sit on a rock your head on her lap as she strokes your red hair lovingly, like she did when you were ever feeling sad or anxious. Clint however paces back and forth waving at the cloak dude, now known as Red skull.
"Maybe he's making this shit up." Clint says as you bit your lip. You remember that blue girl, Nebula, telling you how Thanos went up here with his daughter but got the stone and came back without Gamora.
"I don't think so." Your mom says while you sit up.
"Why, just because he knew your daddy's name?" Clint said.
"I didn't." She responds causing Clint to turn his head faintly, as you do the same.
"Thanos left here with the stone. Without his daughter. Coincidence, I think not." You says crossing your arms.
"So there's no hope." Clint says shrugging. You though are not going to believe that for a second.
"We have to have hope. If we don't have hope there's no way we can save half of the universe." You said.
"Whatever it takes." Natasha says as Clint repeats her. You though stay quiet thinking of any other possible way for you all to make it off this damn mountain alive. As your mother gets up and starts talking with Clint, you realize there's no other way. They know this too.
You slowly start regretting all those stupid fights, you've had with your mom over the years. Clint and your mom were far to important to sacrifice themselves. They were apart of the original fucking six avengers for heaven's sake. You though were not as valuable. It had to be you.
As they keep talking about how they should be the one to sacrifice themselves, it aches you knowing they forgot you were with them. How your mother didn't know she was about to loose her only daughter. Her чудо.(miracle)
"I think we're talking about different people here Nat." You then stand up, and walk slowly toward them.
"Mom... Mom... Mom!" You scream loudly trying to get her attention. What she didn't know would be your last.
"What is it?!" Your taken aback slightly at her outburst but hide it knowing what's about to happen.
"I'm so sorry, but there's so many options but only one choice." They both look at you confused.
You use this to your advantage. You sweep them off their feet using your leg a move your mother taught you and that you have perfected since the age of eight. You then tie their legs and arms together, using the wire Natasha showed you how to use when you were younger.
The horror sets on both of their faces when you take a step back and look towards the cliff and then back at the two.
"Y/N Anya Romanoff, What the hell do you think your doing?!" Natasha yells at you, but you can see the fear in her eyes. You give her a small nod, telling her that you have to jump.
"No baby. Please don't do this! I love you to much." Your heart rate picks up knowing that your saying your last goodbyes to your mother, the woman that gave birth to you, took care of you, loved you with all her heart.
"я люблю тебя, мама. Don't ever forget it." (I love you mom.) Natasha Romanoff barely lets her emotions show but now her face was full of pure horror. Loosing you was and will forever be her worst fear.
"You don't need to do this Y/N. You don't seriously think your doing the right thing, do you?" Clint questions, whispering towards the end.
"That's the thing uncle Clint. I don't think, I know I'm doing the right thing. Whatever it takes. Tell everyone I said hello and goodbye." Your voice cracking a little, as you gave a sad smile.
"Please don't do this Y/N. I can't do this without you." Natasha pleads with you but there's no turning back.
"Your so strong mama. Stronger than anyone I've ever known. I have always admired it for so long, and it's in our blood, right?" Little did you know that Clint was using his sword from behind to break the wire in half.
You give her one last kiss on her cheek.
"Goodbye." You say as you run towards the cliff. Just then, the rope finally breaks and your mother runs towards you getting her gun out of its holster. You close your eyes about to jump when you hear a loud bang and you feel the pain in your leg causing you to fall and groan. You then look behind you and realize your mother shot you.
She then immediately starts running towards the edge. The adrenaline sets in and you get up barely feeling the pain anymore as hot tears fill your eyes. As she jumps off you tie the grappling hook around her then shoot it to some rocks above you. She grabs onto your hand as your legs dangle off the cliff.
"Don't you dare think your leaving. Your only seventeen Y/N. You have so much to do in this world." Natasha says determinedly but you know that's not the case as your time here is coming to an end.
You see your uncle looking over as from the top at you guys that are only a few yards down."Take care of her for me?"
He gives you a small nod as he lets a few tears fall from his eyes.
"I said no. You-" You cut her off knowing that this conversation isn't getting anywhere.
"Let me go. It's okay. You'll be okay." You give her a sad smile as hot tears fall like waterfall down your cheeks. Natasha finally lets the wall crash down and the tears roll. She looks into your emerald green eyes identical to hers one last time.
Just then you know it's time. No going back now.
You use your feet and push yourself off the cliff as Natasha's grip loosens. Time seems to slow as you hear you mother's heart-wrenching scream as you fall. You remember all the best memories you two shared together the past seventeen years.
Natasha watches as your bones break hitting the hard ground with a thud. The image that she will replay every night in her nightmares. She looks down and sees your dead body, with the blood that is pouring out of you mixed with the blood from your gunshot wound.
Her whole life just died the second your body collided with the concrete. Nothing would ever be the same without her baby girl.
She clings onto the heart-shaped locket you made her for mother's day with the help of Tony, when you were five.
"Do you like it mama?"
"Like it? I love it baby!" Natasha says opening it to find the photo of the two of you hugging each other eating ice-cream. She then picks you up and powders you with kisses as you squirm and giggle with excitement.
If only she could share a memory like that again. She couldn't though you were gone. Dead. No resurrections, this time.
"No, why her." She whispers softly to herself. "Why my baby?!" Her scream leaves an echo throughout the mountain.
She then finds herself in water with Clint by her side. She takes out she hand and reveals the soul stone. Natasha's heart shatters as Clint holds her as she sobs into his shoulder.
She would never be 'okay' without you.

mac pls rant to me about alucard like literally talk about anything relating to him idc he just lives in my mind rent free already and I want to hear ur thots 🥺🥺 and u know how much I love ur writing like only u can make me simp over a character i've never heard about until after reading ur series
in this house we all simp over alucard 😌 but tyy i always have so many thoughts omg like i woke up after four hrs of sleep and this fucking show was the first thing on my mind snksndsk anyway imma talk abt the series bc i feel like it sorta came outta nowhere and i dont wanna bore the masses with my thoughts on character design or like animation style (not yet at least hehehe)
okay first of all the fact sm of u guys r reading this without knowing anything about him or the show or anything is so sweet like y’all really sticking through it for me..i appreciate it endlessly. this ranting might also be kinda helpful and idk i like hearing writers thoughts behind their work so i hope y’all do to
the title comes from farouq jwaydeh i found it on that twitter thread about arabic love poems that went around a few months ago. i actually wasn’t planning on naming the series that but the doc where i was working on each part had the quote “and if the devil was to ever see you, he’d kiss your eyes and repent” in it because i was planning on writing smth for alucard based of that and the more i thought about it, the more i realized how well it worked for the series. its so romantic and so devoted which is the type of relationship i do be writing and it also works within a lot of the religious themes of the show. if i could write that well it lowkey sounds like smth alucard would say akhfsk
and speaking of alucard, ik the fact he has two names might be a bit confusing especially with how i formatted bluebelle (whoops) but the characters name is adrian tepes but he goes by alucard for Reasons i wont spoiler lmao. aches & arches does do a decent job explaining y i choose to call him adrian instead, but in the future if i do write stuff outside this series for him there is definitely a chance he’d be called alucard it just really depends on context. i just think there is something very personal and intimate that the reader is very serious about the fact he isn’t a figure for the masses or only tied to his father. hes his own person who they love and they deserve to be called a name that is their own not a moniker given to them y’know? also the fact i dont think anyone actually calls him adrian in the show makes me sad like noo baby ur so much more than what ur father and Humanity has made u out to be ahaha
idk if i have mentioned this anywhere yet but this is also the first series ive ever written in like my....4? 5? years writing on tumblr (ew i dont wanna think about how long ive been doing this) but thats kind of a big deal. i’m a bit :/ with myself for how much stuff i tried to add to bluebelle because i really didnt think i was gonna write anything else for him so it feels a bit cramped in terms of themes in comparison to the other parts. i feel like it does stick out a little within the series considering some of those themes havent been explored again but ehh i’m complaining about something i can change so whelp. guess it means i gotta write more
although i must admit i’m probably not gonna write a wedding and i’m sorry if u guys wanted one i just...can’t Bring myself to write a christian wedding even tho i’m pretty sure alucard is atheist? or at least not catholic lmao and i would rather write a hindu wedding bc its better (noah fence) and i think the ideas? or meanings around hindu wedding ceremonies make sense for this but i dont wanna be alienating so.yeah. that also feels like i gotta start writing a plot and i would rather Not do that i’m fine with mindlessly fluff for now. idk if anyone can tell but i’m avoiding the whole vampire and human relationship convo bc i havent figured out my thoughts on it and i dont wanna deal. let adrian live in a soft fantasy world with no bad things okay thanks thats all .
#anytime i think about figuring out if he’d turn the reader it gets angsty#and i’m like nah no thanks lets have them lay in bed together instead 😇#mac rambles#ask#writing#adrian tepes x reader
