Series Masterlist
The week after you almost died was chaotic, and not even for the reasons you had assumed earlier.
Needless to say, everyone in your life was out for blood, but the problem was that there was a specific lack of people to take revenge on.
“Do you think it’ll go back to how it used to be?” you asked Bucky as you turned your head to inspect your nose in the hallway mirror while he kept pacing in the living room, gritting his teeth while he typed something into his phone.
“We should kill every person who worked for Ian.”
“Because Sarah said it would go back to normal but it doesn’t feel like it.”
“I bet Ryan can give us a list, and—”
“Ryan already killed his inner circle that night.”
“There has to be some people left,” Bucky insisted and you heaved a sigh.
“Bucky, you can’t kill people just because they worked for Ian,” you said. “Most of them switched sides already—”
“That’s not enough, and once a traitor always a traitor.”
You rolled your eyes and made your way to him to stop his pacing, cupping his cheek. He took a deep breath, his blue eyes locked in yours as he clenched his jaw like he was trying to keep it together.
“Buck.”
“They hurt you.”
“Not really, the ones who hurt me are dead,” you said. “I killed one of them, Ryan killed the rest.”
“I need to do something,” he insisted through his teeth. “I…it’s bad enough that I let you get hurt—”
“You didn’t let me get hurt.”
“I was supposed to protect you,” he said. “Not…not you or Ryan.”
“I’ll let the next person who tries to kill me know about that.”
“Charm.”
“Bucky,” you said with a small laugh. “I’m fine. I promise.”
“Your nose is broken,” he reminded you. “There are stitches on your head.”
“Both of those things are temporary,” you assured him. “Seriously. Besides I…you know, it’ll be a good look for the sit down tomorrow night. I’ll look badass.”
He opened his mouth to argue but you both turned your heads when someone knocked on the door.
“Come in,” you called out and the front door opened before Ryan stepped into the apartment, his hands clasped behind him, his back completely straight in the perfect soldier pose.
“Ma’am,” he said. “Mr. Barnes.”
“Ryan, hi!” you said. “You’re back already?”
“Yes ma’am,” he said before stealing a look at Bucky and you waved a hand in the air.
“You can say whatever you want to say in front of Bucky.”
“When I asked to have the morning off, I took the liberty of visiting Mr. Ian’s warehouse,” Ryan said, making you tilt your head.
“He had a warehouse?”
“Yes ma’am. I wanted to make sure we have cleaned out everyone who might still support him or pose a threat to you, so…” he trailed off and pulled out a flash drive from his pocket, extending his hand. You took it from him, then heaved a sigh.
“Anyone we know?”
“I didn’t check what’s inside, ma’am,” he said. “The only reason why I didn’t say where I was going was because I wasn’t sure if there was anything inside that warehouse, but there was. We found it in the safe.”
“We?” Bucky repeated and Ryan nodded.
“One of my trusted men, sir, he can crack open any case.”
You pressed your lips together as you plugged the drive into your laptop, then clicked on the first file and let out a breath, staring at the screen.
“That fucker…” you murmured. “Ah. Well now it makes sense.”
“What?” Bucky asked and you licked your lips.
“Check out the name here.”
Bucky came closer to see the screen, then raised his brows.
“Should’ve known,” he muttered. “If there was going to be anyone HYDRA had its claws in, it’d be Ian.”
“I didn’t think he was this big of an idiot.”
“Did you know he was making deals with HYDRA?” Bucky asked Ryan who shook his head.
“No sir, I wasn’t allowed in most of the meetings. Mrs. Barnes saw it before.”
“Yeah, he kept him outside,” you said. “Figures. Oh, my dad will hate this.”
“Will you tell the others?”
You paused for a moment, then shook your head.
“No,” you said. “This stays in the family—that includes you as well, Ryan.”
Ryan bowed slightly. “Of course, ma’am.”
“Will you give us a moment please?” you asked him and he nodded, then walked out of the room. You turned to Bucky, tapping your fingertips on the kitchen island.
“This is how they had all those attacks on everyone’s territory—everyone’s but ours,” you told him. “That’s how Ian knew it wasn’t HYDRA, but us.”
“I guess he’s lucky you killed him already,” Bucky said. “This is betrayal. People would be racing each other to kill him.”
“Working with HYDRA though?” you insisted. “That doesn’t just mean betraying others, it means betraying the family. Forget the other bosses, my dad would kill him if he heard about this.”
Bucky grinned. “That argument should come in handy. This afternoon.”
You shook your head.
“I am not looking forward to that,” you murmured. “Especially with my aunt there.”
“She’s still here?”
“She’s leaving the city today, apparently,” you said. “I doubt she’ll go without giving me a piece of her mind first.”
“Want me to come with you?”
“No,” you said. “You have your own stuff for preparation for tomorrow, to—”
“Don’t worry about that,” he cut you off. “There won’t be anyone against you being there, we already know that.”
“Wouldn’t hurt to make sure.”
He nodded his head and came closer to carefully kiss you on the top of your head while you pocketed the flash drive, then looked up at him with a small grin.
“Seriously, how bad do I look?” you asked him and he let out a chuckle.
“You look breathtaking as usual, baby.”
“You’re such a liar,” you said with a small push to his arm and he caught your hand, entwining his fingers with yours.
“Hey,” he said. “I’m serious. Broken nose or not, you’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen my whole life.”
You could feel a smile curling your lips.
“And not fucking you until you get better will be torture,” Bucky added, making you scoff a laugh.
“So romantic.”
“Only for you,” he played along and slapped your butt. “Come on. We both have things to do, boss.”
“Aw I can get used to that,” you said, still grinning, then walked out of the apartment. Ryan was already waiting for you by the entrance, and straightened his back as soon as he saw you.
“Ma’am.”
“Let’s go pay a visit to my dear father,” you said and walked to the elevator with him following you.
*
Your father had been furious when he saw you at the hospital, so much that you thought he would’ve killed Ian if you hadn’t.
Well, technically Bucky would kill Ian before him but…
So you knew he was going to be happy to see you but you weren’t so sure if the feeling was gonna last when he heard what you were going to say to him.
Your aunt was on her way out, loading her suitcases to the car when your car pulled over in front of the house and you heaved a sigh, then gritted your teeth. It wasn’t that you didn’t see this conversation coming, yet that did nothing to put you at ease.
“Here we go,” you murmured as the driver opened your door for you and you stepped out, your aunt gritting her teeth the moment she saw you.
“Auntie,” you said and she held up a hand, gesturing you to be silent.
“Don’t,” she said. “Don’t call me that.”
“Is father inside?”
“You’re a monster,” she spat and you pursed your lips together.
“He was going to kill me,” you told her. “You know the rules, and so did he. Don’t blame me if he was too stupid to win.”
She eyed you up and down, making Ryan take a step closer but you motioned at him to stop.
“It’s fine Ryan, thank you,” you told him before your aunt let out a hysterical laugh.
“I see you surround yourself with traitors already.”
“Ryan is my right hand auntie, you need to respect him,” you told her, making Ryan give you a proud smile before his expression turned stony again upon turning to look at your aunt.
“I do hope you and Bucky have a son,” your aunt said through her teeth. “Because trust me, I will take him away from you.”
You managed to keep your expression completely calm despite the small shudder running down your spine.
“You can try,” you told her and she scoffed, then got into the car and slammed the door. You shook your head slightly, climbing the stairs to walk through the front door.
“I apologize on her behalf, Ryan,” you told him and he shook his head.
“Don’t, ma’am,” he said. “You have nothing to apologize for. She’s a mother, it’s normal that she’s angry at me.”
“Well if my mother were here, she would tear her apart for what her son tried to do,” you muttered as you stopped by the door to your father’s office. The men waiting there nodded at you and you knocked on the door, then peeked your head in.
“Dad?”
“Oh sweetheart, come in!” he said, standing up from his seat. “I was just thinking about you.”
“Good things I hope,” you muttered, letting him kiss your cheek before you sat down on the armchair across from his desk. He filled you a glass of whiskey and put it in front of you, then filled his glass as well and went behind his desk to sit down.
“Any word on that traitorous bastard?”
“Ethan?” you said. “Not yet but any day now. We know he’s not in Chicago, a couple of Bucky’s men are already waiting for him at his hometown and…” you trailed off. “It’s honestly just a matter of who will get him first, you or Bucky or Rhett.”
“Do they know not to kill him yet?”
You grinned. “Oh trust me. Both Bucky and Rhett have a lot of…creative ideas.”
“So do I,” your father murmured and you pulled out the flash drive from your pocket.
“Speaking of traitors,” you said, “You might want to know Ian was working with HYDRA.”
Your father stared at you for a couple of seconds in silence. “What?”
“That’s how they got in,” you said. “And that’s why our territory was never attacked and everyone else’s was.”
“Our territory was attacked.”
“Not by HYDRA.”
“We don’t—” he started, then raised his brows, heaving a deep sigh. “You.”
“Well Ian is dead now so it doesn’t really matter,” you said. “But yeah.”
“I asked you and you said no.”
“Can you blame me?” you asked. “I didn’t exactly have leverage yet, nor had I proven myself. I will use the names in the file to track them down, I figured you wouldn’t want anyone else to get involved, especially the other bosses.”
“You thought right,” he said. “Especially the sit down tomorrow…”
“That’s actually why I’m here,” you said, your heart beating in your ears and he pulled his brows together, then scoffed a laugh.
“Sweetheart, obviously I will name you my heir tomorrow.”
You took a sip of the whiskey, then heaved a sigh.
“Yeah I figured you’d say that,” you said. “That’s the problem.”
“The problem?”
“I didn’t almost die just so that you can name me your heir,” you said, looking him in the eye. “That’s not how it works. You know how cage fight works, I’ve been through worse. Being named heir is not going to be enough.”
He frowned at you as if he was confused before a look of realization dawned on his face and he leaned back on his seat, his eyes locked in yours.
“Is this a hostile takeover?”
You shrugged your shoulders. “Doesn’t have to be hostile.”
A silence fell upon the room while he stared at you, then let out a breath.
“And you think you’re ready?”
“I know I am.”
“Just out of curiosity,” he said. “What would happen if I refused?”
“You can refuse,” you said, your voice completely calm. “But it’s not going to change anything. I have the support from other bosses, I have proven myself and your latest choice of heir fucked over everyone, which could backfire on you. So, I’m sitting at the head of that table tomorrow, whether you like it or not.”
An impressed smile curled his lips before he heaved a sigh, then stood up and opened up his arms.
“Come here,” he said, making you frown.
“If you’re planning on stabbing me father—”
“Don’t be ridiculous, come here,” he said and you got up from the armchair, then stepped into his embrace. He hugged you tight, then pressed a kiss on your hair and pulled back to look at you better.
“My little girl all grown up to threaten me,” he said and you shrugged your shoulders.
“I mean I’d rather not, to be honest with you,” you muttered. “I’m just saying, there’s family and there’s business. I’m threatening the former boss right now, not my father.”
He hummed, still smiling softly.
“You have one thing right, you have proven yourself, over and over again,” he said. “Even before that bastard pulled a gun on you. I’m sorry for not seeing it sooner, Y/N. That right there was exactly what I was trying to protect you from.”
“Yeah, protecting me from business,” you said. “You should’ve known I wouldn’t have let him take it from me, dad. One of us was going to end up dead either way.”
That made him clench his jaw. “I didn’t think he’d have the guts to do that to you,” he said. “That will be on my conscience forever.”
“It shouldn’t,” you said. “I mean yeah you fucked up but you know, there’s no one who doesn’t take me seriously in the business after that whole fight. I doubt it’d have the same impact if you handed it to me, so…it’ll work in my favor.”
“Will you forgive me?”
“My father has nothing to worry about,” you told him. “And the former boss is paying for that mistake with me replacing him. Hostile takeover and all that.”
He let out a chuckle, then hugged you again.
“Perhaps I’ll buy another boat,” he said. “I should ask George what he does with all the time he has in retirement.”
A laugh escaped from you and you held up your hands. “Hey, if you want to be a cliché, I can’t stop you,” you said and checked your wristwatch. “I need to go and meet Bucky, we’re having lunch.”
“Alright,” he said. “Tell him I said hi.”
“Of course,” you said and kissed him on the cheek, then walked to the door before turning to look at him. “And thank you.”
“For what?”
“For not making this harder than it should be,” you told him and he shrugged his shoulders.
“Well,” he said. “You’re the head of the family business now. It’s your rules, the rest will follow your orders. Including the former boss.”
You let a smile curl your lips, then walked out of the office and passed through the hallway to step outside, your heels echoing on the marble floor.
*
There had been numerous sit downs at this place but this was the first one that you would attend as a boss, so needless to say you were way too impatient.
Ever since you had stepped a foot in your father’s house, you couldn’t stop tapping your foot. The guests were beginning to arrive one by one, and you desperately needed a drink but you knew you had to keep a completely clear head so you couldn’t exactly drink what the rest were drinking.
“Here,” Bucky said, touching the small of your back with one hand while giving you a glass of water with the other.
“Thank you,” you said and he pressed a kiss on your temple, making you frown and pull back. “Nope.”
“What?”
“This is a work meeting,” you told him, nodding at Clint and Natasha by the corner of the living room while Tony talked to your father and Bucky frowned.
“They already know we’re married, Charm.”
“Well we can’t be too lovey-dovey!” you whispered through your teeth and he chuckled.
“Babe, it’s going to be fine,” he said. “You’ll do great, I promise.”
“Right?” you felt the need to ask and he nodded.
“Yeah.”
“I love you, you know that right?” you asked and Bucky smirked.
“I love you too,” he said. “And you’re not going to war. It’s your first meeting as a boss, but it is still a meeting.”
You nodded your head, taking a huge sip of your water and turned your head when you heard the familiar chatter. Sarah and Becca walked into the living room, making your jaw drop.
“Hey,” Becca said as soon as she reached you. “Girl talk Buck, beat it.”
“Nice to see you too,” Bucky told her with a roll of his eyes, then turned to Sarah. “Hey.”
“Hi Bucky. Sam and Steve are in the hallway.”
“Great,” he said and walked away from you. You pulled Sarah into a hug, then pulled back to hug Becca.
“Oh my God,” you said. “What are you both doing here?”
“Well it’s your first day on the job,” Becca said. “You know, emotional support.”
“What she said,” Sarah said. “And I figured you’d be nervous, so…”
“I was,” you said with a smile. “Guys, you’re amazing.”
“I even brought a cactus,” Becca said. “Apparently that’s what people get people when they start jobs, who knew?”
“They usually get them flowers, Becca,” Sarah said and Becca waved a hand in the air.
“I haven't worked a day in my life in case you guys forgot,” she said. “Oh and Leila said ‘kick everyone’s ass’.”
“Tell her I said thank you,” you said and took a deep breath. “It’ll go well, right?”
“It’ll go great,” Sarah said, lifting your chin a bit to check your nose from the side. “It is healing nicely. The stitches too.”
“Thanks to my awesome doctor,” you said with a smile and Becca looked around.
“Your bitch of an aunt isn’t here then?”
“Nope,” you said. “She left earlier.”
“Without making a scene?” Sarah asked, disbelief apparent in her tone and you shook your head.
“Of course not,” you said. “She…she told me something.”
“What?”
“That she hopes Bucky and I have a son,” you said. “So that she can take him away from me, the same way I took Ian away from her.”
Sarah rolled her eyes and Becca raised a brow.
“Oh please,” she said. “She does know that when Bucky and you have a child, that child will be like, the most protected heir in the entire world, right?”
“I guess,” you said and Sarah frowned.
“You can’t let that get to you,” she said and you shook your head again.
“I’m not,” you said. “That’s not it.”
Becca pulled back slightly, then eyed the water glass in your hand.
“Please don’t tell me you’re pregnant,” she said, making your eyes widen.
“No!” you said. “No, I’m just not drinking because I’m trying to keep my head clear, it’s my first meeting with everyone else as a boss—no, I’m just worried I guess.”
“I agree with Becca,” Sarah said. “First of all, that child will be the most protected heir in the city, with your people and Bucky’s people. Second of all, who’s going to take your aunt seriously?”
“No one,” you admitted with a small laugh. “Yeah. Like I said, I’m just worried.”
“Don’t be—” Sarah started but you heard Ryan’s voice by the door.
“The meeting room is ready,” he said and everyone walked out of the living room one by one. Your father gave you a soft smile and you smiled at him back, then turned to Sarah and Becca.
“Wish me luck.”
“You got this,” Sarah said and Becca squeezed your hand.
“You were born for this,” she told you. “Go get ‘em tiger.”
You let out a breath, then made your way out of the living room to the meeting room before you stepped inside, your heart beating in your ears. Bucky was walking to his own seat and you brushed your hand against his as subtly as you could while you walked past him. He winked at you before sitting down as well, making you bite back a smile.
You got this.
Becca was right. You were born for this.
You took your seat at the head of the table, Ryan approaching to place a file in front of you and you cleared your throat, then lifted your head to look at everyone around the table.
“So,” you said, your voice completely calm. “Shall we begin?”
The End.

good luck gang

of course, after any big win, especially at home, the team has to go out and celebrate. and of course, when you’re one of the best known teams in the country, people are bound to talk to you. but when some redhead girl came up and asked if she could buy azzi fudd a drink, paige bueckers didn’t like it one bit.
“no, she gets drinks on my tab, she doesn’t need you to buy her one. thanks though! we’ll be going now,” paige says to the girl, placing her hand on the small of azzis back and leading her away, downing her third shot as she goes. “what was that for? maybe i wanted to talk to her,” azzi says. she’s not actually frustrated, she’s more into blondes. “maybe ill go back and talk to her!” paige rolls her eyes. “maybe you will.” azzi turns around and marches back to her.
paige didn’t think she would actually do it, gosh. she orders a drink, stronger than normal. she’ll need it for this train wreck
azzi did not want to talk to this girl anymore. her name was stupid. who names their kid clementine anyway? all she wanted to do was go home and watch a movie or something with paige. she’s thinking about making her escape when she feels two arms wrap around her from behind.
“azzi! let’s goooo, i want to do something!” she’s resting her chin on azzis shoulder, trying to press her lips into her neck. “paige let’s not do this right now, you won’t want this tomorrow” azzi whispers, trying to get the point across without drawing any more attention to them. “you didn’t care when that girl was chatting you up! plus, i always want you.” with her words, paige slides her hand up azzis shirt and starts kneading the spot on her back she had said was sore earlier. “come on, let’s just get out of here” that breaks azzis reserve. she stands up and maneuvers them to the door, waving goodbye to the rest of the team. in the car, she drives, which is a rare occurrence, but paige is much too drunk. she’s busy trying and failing to subtly unzip azzis jeans without her noticing, but can’t seem to figure it out.
when they finally make it to paige’s apartment, paige drags them straight up to her bedroom and backs azzi into the wall. she crushes her there with her lips and her hands, all while taking off both of their clothes. once they’re both naked, she pushes azzi into the bed and puts her fingers into azzis mouth. “suck. make them nice and wet to go inside of you darling.” azzi whines around them, taking them so deep she gags over and over. when paige decides she’s done waiting, she removes her dripping fingers and slides them into azzis soaked pussy.
“do you think that she could have fucked you like this baby? would you rather be screaming her name tonight instead of mine,” paige asked azzi while pumping her fingers in and out of her. “nn-no love, only you can make me feel like thi-nnnnnmm,” azzi shrieked as she came, going limp against the bed. “good girl, coming on my fingers, right where you’re supposed to” azzi just grunted, then rolled off the bed and onto her knees, pulled paige towards her and into a sitting position, edging her legs apart. “let me return the favor angel.” azzi admired paige for a moment, then leaned in and closed her lips around her clit. “mmmm baby you taste so good for me” paige moaned at azzis words, fisting the blankets. azzi continues to suck her clit, even after paige comes, even after she’s begging for a rest. when she finally breaks off, paige has tears in her eyes and drool running down her lips. “you look pretty baby,” azzi says, grabbing paige’s face in hers and kissing her, long and slow, as she pushes paige back onto the bed and tucks them under the covers together, skin to skin.
“i love you azzi,” paige whispers into azzis mouth
“i’m sure you do,” azzi says, looking sadly up at the ceiling, because she knows in the morning, paige won’t want to remember.

HOW YOU GET THE GIRL l JH86
summary: it's jack's fault you're not together anymore, but he needs you back ー even if he has to go to your apartment in pouring rain at 2 am to beg for a second chance.
pairing: jack hughes x fem!reader
author’s note: hello!! after taylor announced 1989 TV i needed to write something based on a 1989 song and i still had to write something for jacky boy, so this came to life. likes and reblogs are always welcomed. i hope you enjoy and thank you for reading!!! <3333
The first time you’d seen Jack Hughes, you knew he was trouble. One look at the hockey player and you knew he was bound to break your heart. Still, you dove in head first, charmed by his enchanting blue eyes and troublesome smirk. You were aware Jack didn’t do relationships, he’d very much rather casual hookups. But then, when you appeared in his life, he couldn’t think straight, and for the first time in his life, he wanted one person and one person only. And you were ecstatic. You would never have believed he’d give you an actual chance, let alone ask you to be his girlfriend. However, Jack didn’t know how to be in a relationship, and he let jealousy and miscommunication get in between the two of you until he couldn’t take it anymore and cut you off his life completely. Now, you were broken up, mourning what could have been of your relationship, both haunted by the what-ifs. Until he decided it was enough, he couldn’t let you be the one who got away. He couldn’t let himself ruin this. You deserved better and he wanted to be better, for you.
It was late when Jack decided he was tired of staring at his bedroom ceiling, probably too late but he didn’t care, it’s not like he was going to sleep anyway. Jack got up from his bed, making his way outside his apartment clad in only sweatpants and a devil’s hoodie, and went to his car. The drive was quiet, but his head was loud. He needs you to accept his apology. He needs you.
Jack sat in his car, looking at your apartment building for what felt like centuries. He could barely see it with the heavy rain on the outside. There are only two types of people who would get out in such bad weather: Idiots and lovesick fools. And Jack definitely was not an idiot.
“Fuck it,” he thought, getting out of the car and going into the building.
When you woke up to someone knocking on your door at two in the morning, you had imagined anything, anyone but a soaked Jack. But here he was, drenched on your doorstep. You looked at the hockey player, his piercing blue eyes so sad and lifeless staring at your sleepy ones.
“Jack?!” You say his name, with the same warmth of always still present. God, he missed your voice.
“It’s two in the fucking morning,” You scream whisper, not wanting to wake up your neighbors at this ungodly hour. “This is insanity, Jack. Are you crazy?”
“Crazy about you” He states, slyly.
For a moment, you stare at Jack, thinking if you want to slap him or kiss him, eventually just letting him inside, praying you won’t regret this.
Jack stands awkwardly, while you get him a towel and some clean clothes he left at yours and prepares a cup of warm tea. You might be furious at him right now, but that doesn’t mean you’ll let him die of hypothermia in your living room.
“What do you want here, Jack?” You asked bluntly after he’s changed and dry, tea sitting on the table in front of the both of you.
“(Y/N)” He starts, the confidence and playfulness of earlier both long gone, “I’m sorry. These were the longest six months of my life. I swear-”
“Jack, you broke my heart. You-” You take a deep breath, eyes already teary, “You left me. You stopped answering me, Jack. After everything you said, after everything we did, you cut me off. Do you understand how painful that was?” You look into his eyes, blurry vision with the tears you’re holding. “And, I-I tried so hard. Harder than you could ever imagine. I trusted you, I really did. I believed in you, Jack.” You say, face wet with tears and Jack’s heart hurts at the vision he wants to hold you and protect you from all of the pain, but it’s his fault. And he needs to make it right.
“I’m sorry. I can’t apologize enough, but if you let me, I’ll be making up for you for the rest of my life. I didn’t know what I was doing, and I hurt you and that was shitty and I’m so incredibly sorry. I don’t think I’ll regret anything as much as I regret hurting you. I never meant to ruin things, (Y/N). I never meant to ruin us. But please let me make it right. I know I broke your heart, let me put it back together.” Jack pleads, getting closer, his own eyes filled with tears, “I’ve made so many mistakes, (Y/N), so many. But you were never one of them. You were the first thing that felt right. And I know I don’t deserve it, but please, give me a second chance. Please.” He begs, holding your face between his hands, and wiping your tears away. “I want you, (Y/N).” The words escapes Jack's lips and he closed his eyes, not sure he wanted to watch your reaction to his admission. “I want to put your heart back together,” He continues, quieter. “I want us to be how we used to be. I want what we had.” He pleas, his voice stern as he continues “I'll never leave again, I promise. I want to be here for you, worse or for better, no matter what happens.”
The room went silent, the two sets of eyes staring into the other. Wordlessly, you bury your face into Jack’s chest and he feels like he can finally breathe for the first time in six months. The both of you stay there, holding each other for all the words they didn’t get to say, and all the apologies they can’t begin to put down onto words. And if heaven were a place on earth, they might stay that way, glued to one another for a lifetime. Jack kisses your forehead, pressing you harder against him, nothing else matters but the girl he has in his arms.
And that’s how it works.
That’s how Jack Hughes got the girl.

Twilight- Youngest Shadow: Chapter Two, First Day
(Alice X Reader X Jasper)
[One] [two] [three]
“You two good to go on your own?” Charlie questions us as we’re almost out of the door. “I’m not showing up in a cop car on my first day.” I straight up say causing the two to snicker.
“Yeah I agree with [Name] here.” She shrugs and we go outside. I tug my helmet on, purposefully forgetting my jacket in the house. Lugging myself over my bike I tiredly turn it on.
I wait for Bella to get her truck started and I drive behind her.
Getting to the school with her loud truck and my motorcycles rev going, heads turn our way. I park right by her and I take my helmet off, throwing it into her truck bed. I go up beside her once she was out of the vehicle. All eyes were on us and I knew Bella was mortified.
She still has her earbuds in, listening to music even though that wouldn’t help her anxiety that she’s experiencing right now.
A few people said hi to us, the majority talking about us. It was annoying to put it simply.
I saw this kid with glasses come up to us, he tried speaking to me as well but I walked away leaving him to flirt with only Bella.
Of course I have to deal with something more agitating.
“You’re one of the new sisters, right?” A girl with some ponytail questions me. I raise an eyebrow at her. “What? I’ve literally been going to schools here since we were little. Wow.” I act offended, watching her eyes widen and I start laughing.
“My names [Name]. I’m the younger sister.” I tell her, her shoulders fall and she forces out a laugh too. “I’m Jessica,” reaching a hand out. I guess I can try to be more friendly.
I take her hand, “nice to meet you.” I smile, “do you guys have a good Volleyball team? Softball team?” I take my hand back once I ask the question.
“Volleyball team, yes. Softball, I guess. I don’t really pay attention. I’m the captain of the volleyball team.” She proudly states and I smirk.
“When’s tryouts? Next year.” I ask,
“Oh due to something that happened earlier in the year we’re doing it now. Last day to tryout is today.” She explains.
“I guess I’ll see you there?”
“Well there’s so many forms you have to fill out, it’s unfortunate but you always have next year.” She seems to be intimidated and I didn’t even tell her about the fact I was the captain in Arizona. And that I have scholarships already for colleges who want me to play for them.
“I already have the forms, doctor wise. And I’m sure my dad wouldn’t mind signing anything.” I wink, walking ahead of her to find a seat in our classroom.
I wish I could’ve seen her face after that.
Oh well.
Day 14 after my first day, I was on the Volleyball team. Co-Captain. Something Jessica was secretly but not secretly upset about.
Practically yelling it into the universe without realizing it.
Luckily out of everything I have a class with my sister, unfortunate to her it was P.E. And believe it or not we’re playing Volleyball and Basketball. Bella was treating the Volleyball as if it was poison or something that could kill her.
“Block it Chloe! Good attack!” There’s Jessica, of course I have two classes with her. She’s treating this game as if it was a real one. In reality no body could give a rats ass about any of this. It’s just so they don’t get a bad grade.
I wasn’t putting in my all, kind of standing next to my sister, hitting it for her whenever it came our way. This time I wasn’t so lucky and the ball came flying toward her. I tried to get it beforehand but I ended up bumping into her causing the ball to go right for one of the basketball players head.
I cover my mouth trying my best not to laugh, failing. My sister gasps, both of us run over to him.
“Ow,” he rubs the back of his head.
“Are you alright? I warned them not to let me play.” She tells him in an embarrassed tone.
“It’s only a flesh wound.” He grins, pretty sure he doesn’t realize I’m there too. She physically looks relieved she didn’t do much damage.
The bell rings announcing class is over.
“You’re Isabella right?” He asks before she gets the chance to walk away. “Just Bella.” She corrects him.
“And you’re her sister, um..”
“[Name].” I tell him in a dry tone. Clearly not as welcoming as my beautiful sister beside me.
“I’m Mike Newton.” He goes back to staring at my sister like she’s a statue in a museum.
Right as I go to leave, because clearly I’m not in this conversation, Jessica puts her arm over my shoulder. Dragging me to be in between Mike and my sister once again.
“She’s got a great spike, doesn’t she? Almost better than her co-captain of a sister.” She jokes and we all kinda force out a chuckle. I get second hand embarrassment from her try to jabs at me for becoming the co-captain and not taking her spot.
“So, you guys are from Arizona right? Aren’t people supposed to be tan down there?” She takes her hit at Bella. I went to step closer to her, going to say something back but Bella spoke before I could get a word out.
“That’s why they kicked me out. And she just couldn’t let me leave without her.”
Mike laughs, and Jessica looks at him from the corner of her eye, forcing herself to do the same.
I feel my sister tense up from the attention so I finally get us out of the situation. By just straight up walking away and dragging her with me. That didn’t do too much because they ended up following us after we left the changing room. All the way to the cafeteria.
Normally we would go to Bella’s truck to eat, but due to being followed Bella thought we could join them. Make some friends I’m guessing.
Eric from earlier this morning sat between Bella and Mike. “Mike you met my home girl and her badass sister?”
That’s the nickname I get? I was trying to get away from him away not seem cool to him.
“Your home girl?”
“It’s first grade all over again and you two are the shiny new toys.” Jessica tells us, Bella smiles awkwardly and I press my lips tightly together.
Suddenly a flash goes off, blinding my sister and I. We look up at the photographer. “Sorry, needed a candid for the feature.” The girl sweetly smiles.
She wore glasses, brunette hair pulled into a low ponytail.
“Features dead, Angela. Don’t bring it up again.”
I make a face at Eric who just said that. No reason to be mean to the girl.
“I got your back, baby. You too sweetheart.” He winks in my direction making me gag internally.
“Guess we’ll just run another editorial on teen drinking.” She says clearly disappointed.
“Sorry. There’s always eating disorders or Speedo padding on the swim team.” My sister says and I choke on my saliva after trying to stop myself from laughing. “Wait that’s a good one.” Angela says obviously not getting that it was kind of a joke.
Then the doors open to the cafeteria. Everyone’s attention going to these gorgeous people who look older than I guess they are.
Two girls and two guys walk through together. “Who are they?” Bella leans to the two girls at our table.
I watched the couple behind the first one that walked through the doors. A tinier girl with short hair, her boyfriend with honey-blond hair who’s taller. My eyes met with the girl but I didn’t look away. She smiles a tiny bit.
They sat down at the table that’s furthest from everyone else’s.
“The Cullen’s.” Angela says, Jessica leans in towards us even more.
“Doctor and Mrs. Cullens foster kids. They all moved down here from Alaska two years ago.” Jessica gossips.
“They kinda keep to themselves.” Angela adds in.
“Because they’re all together. Like together together. The blonde girl, Rosalie. The big dark haired guy, Emmett.” Bella was paying attention like her life depended on it. Rosalie looked exactly like a model. Her man looking like a pro wrestler, less serious than his girl.
“They’re a thing, I’m not even sure that’s legal.” Jessica judges them but of course she still finds them attractive.
“Jess, they’re not related.” Angela stands up for them even though I’m sure they could careless what Jessica thinks of them.
“But they live together.” She rebutted before continuing on.
“The little dark-haired girl is Alice. She’s really weird.” Alice was a part of the couple I was staring at. She seemed light on her feet too.
“She’s with Jasper, the blonde who looks like he’s in pain. I mean, Dr.Cullens like the foster dad slash match maker.” Jessica slightly jokes towards the end. I will admit the situation is a little weird but we don’t know their story. She shouldn’t be so quick to judge.
“Maybe he’ll adopt me.” Angela sighs, Bella and I laugh. I like her. Then the door swings open again, the last Cullen with no foster match beside him.
I guess he looks like a model too.
“Who’s he?” Bella seemed intrigued, not taking her eyes off of him. “Edward Cullen.” Suddenly he looks over as if he heard his name from so far away. His eyes met with my sisters.
He seems confused and Bella looks away but I stare him down trying to get a read off of him. “He’s totally gorgeous, obviously. But apparently, no one here is good enough for him. Like I care.”
She obviously cared.
I watched the boy hide a smirk and I raised an eyebrow. We made eye contact and I don’t waver down.
“Anyway don’t waste your time.” She tells Bella.
His face was like a rock. Barely any emotion showed.
Weird.
I finally looked away. “I wasn’t planning on it.” Bella says but she takes a peek at Edward who was now out right staring. His expression seemed frustrated. I watched her become unnerved, now hiding behind her hair.
I roll my eyes at the whole situation, the lunch bell finally rang and I separated from the group. Angela was kind of behind me. Like she wanted to say something but was too scared. I took a deep breath. At least this wasn’t Jessica.
“Hey.” I smiled, slowing myself down to look at her. She jumps a tiny bit. “Oh, hey.” She smiles in return. “What’s your next class?” I asked, she seemed shocked that I was talking to her. Again Bella’s more welcoming than I am. So this is understandable.
Bella has that resting sad face, the one that makes people gravitate towards her, make sure she’s okay. As for I have a resting angry face. My eyebrows downturned, also it seems like these people have problems with piercings for some reason.
“Uhm, Algebra 2. You?”
“Oh same, twins.” I add little jazz hands making her warm up to me a little more.
“Aren’t you a sophomore though?” She quizzes, trying to remember if she was correct.
“I’m a Junior. I skipped a grade or so. When I was younger I needed to be with Bella for everything.” I laughed at the memory of little me, taking tests to be in classes with my older sister.
She chuckles too, “that’s cute.” She says, both of us entering our classroom. “There’s an empty seat next to me, c’mon.” She lead the way.
The class was basically just taking notes.
At the end of the day, I go straight to my bike, grabbing my helmet from Bella’s truck bed. I didn’t notice two specific stares as I put my helmet on, getting on the bike.
I then watch Bella get to her truck, visibly upset about something as she slams the door shut after getting in.
I wonder what that’s about.
I already told Charlie I was going to the Reservation to see Jacob and the other guys. Charlie and Bella are gonna go out to eat together at his favorite coffee shop. Once getting there, Jacob comes out with Quil.
“[Name]!” They both shout, sprinting my way we aim kicking down the kick stand then taking off my helmet.
“Nice hair.” Quil teases and I roll my eyes. “Yeah, yeah. I left my brush at home today.” I frown giving them both hugs. “Where’s Bella?” Jacob looks around and I place a hand on my heart. “You too?”
“Am I not good enough anymore?” I pretend to be sad, I nudge Quil, Jacob furrows his brows confused by what I mean.
“Everyone at school is enchanted by Bella.” I inform him, we start walking. “I’m not hurt by it. But it’s super noticeable being next to her.” I laugh mainly to myself because I’m sure they wouldn’t find it funny.
“Well we notice you.” Quil pushes me. Jacob doing the same thing.
“I’m glad I have you Quil because Jacob totally still has a puppy crush on my sister.” I make fake kisses towards him, Quil roars into laughter, Jacobs face warming up in response.
Everyone knew about it, seemingly except my sister. It was no secret.
“That’s when I was like 9. Can’t we move past that?” He whines, but he was partially serious. I sat there quietly for a moment. “No.” I giggle with the other boy next to me as Jake was offended.
“So when’s your next game? Can we go, see you in action?” Quil questions me, he was excited to ask though he definitely just wanted to see the hot girls on the team. I smile, shrugging.
“We have one in two days. You guys are welcome to come. I know Charlie wants to bring Billy.” I nudge Jacob. “Well I’d be happy to come with them.” He says.
“I’ll write my schedule down for you guys. Billy can talk to my dad to see what’s best.” I try to hide my excitement from them. My mom usually forgot about my games from how much she runs around. Either being 30 minutes late or not coming at all. She always felt guilty once she realized. Apologizing over and over, ending in her getting my ice cream or some weird craft she made.
Dad always called me before and after my games. Even watching the tournaments on YouTube that our school put on.
I’m a middle blocker, normally doing the spikes, or obviously blocks. My serves were also known for being powerful.
“We’ll be there for every single one.” Quil tells me and I grin.
“I’ll count on it then:” I smirk.
“Want to put your talent to the beach? Everyone’s down there.” Jacob asks.
“Hell yeah, I’ll even race you fuckers to the car.” I laugh, all three of us racing to the vehicle that Jacob ends up driving.

𝓐𝓵𝓵 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓱𝓪𝓿𝓮 𝓽𝓸 𝓭𝓸 𝓲𝓼 𝓼𝓪𝔂 𝔂𝓮𝓼
Y/n sits on his lap a blade hanging over his chest, "If I can't have you, no one can" she lifts her hand up slamming it back down before she freezes, "Ah, so you do feel something for me, and people say my charm is fake" Luke Castellan's voice rings out through the room ans he grins from below her.
Y/n looked at him with a mixture of confusion and anger, her heart pounding in her chest as she tried to figure out what was going on. Luke's grin only seemed to infuriate her further. "What are you talking about?" she managed to choppy out between breaths.
He leaned in closer, his breath tickling her ear as he whispered, "Oh, come now, darling. You can't tell me you haven't felt a thing when we're like this. The way you tensed up when I touched you earlier, the way you arched into my hand…" His voice trailed off, leaving her feeling more and more exposed and vulnerable.
Y/n felt her cheeks flush as she tried to deny it, but she couldn't help the way her body responded to him. She glanced away, looking anywhere but at his face, unwilling to admit the truth even to herself. "You're just trying to distract me," she managed to say, her voice shaking slightly.
Luke chuckled, his breath tickling her neck. "Maybe I am, but it seems to be working quite well, doesn't it?" He slid his hand up her thigh, his fingers curling possessively around her hip. "Tell me, Y/n. Does it feel good when I touch you like this?"
She swallowed hard, her heart racing as his touch sent a wave of heat through her body. "No," she lied, her voice sounding strangled even to her own ears. But she couldn't help but arch her hips into his touch, wanting more of the forbidden pleasure.
Luke smiled against her neck, his fingers digging deeper into her hip. "Oh, Y/n," he breathed, his voice low and husky. "I think you're lying." He slid his other hand up her side, cupping her breast over her shirt. His touch was featherlight, but it sent a bolt of desire straight to her core.
She tried to pull away, but his grip was too strong. Her breath came in ragged gasps as he continued to toy with her, his touch sending waves of pleasure through her body. "Let go," she managed to choke out, her voice barely audible over the pounding of her heart.
Luke chuckled darkly, his lips moving against her skin. "Oh, Y/n. You know you don't mean that." He pinched her nipple through her shirt, hard enough to make her cry out. "You want this. You want me." His hand slid down between their bodies, pressing against her core. "Tell me the truth."
She arched her back, unable to deny the pleasure coursing through her veins. "I-I want you to stop," she managed to stammer, her voice shaking. But as his fingers dipped lower, finding the wetness she'd been trying so desperately to ignore, she couldn't help but moan. His touch was so expert, so skilled, that it felt like she'd been waiting for this for forever.
Luke smirked against her skin, his fingers moving in a rhythm that sent shivers down her spine. "Oh, sweetheart," he breathed, his voice low and husky. "I think you're enjoying this a little too much." He slid his hand higher, circling her clit before pushing two fingers inside her.
Y/n cried out, arching her back as the pleasure consumed her. She couldn't believe how good it felt, how much she needed this. His touch was so confident, so knowing, and it was driving her wild. Her hips moved of their own accord, meeting his thrusts, wanting more. "Luke," she moaned, her voice barely audible over the pounding of her heart.
He chuckled darkly, his fingers moving faster inside her. "That's it, darling. Give in to it. Let go." His other hand left her breast to slide down her stomach, cupping her mound. He teased her, circling her clit with his thumb as his fingers continued to stroke her inside. Y/n arched her back, moaning his name as the pleasure built to an unbearable peak.
"Oh, Luke," she gasped, her body trembling. "I'm going to…" Her words trailed off as the orgasm crashed over her, shattering her into a thousand pieces. Her body convulsed around his fingers, her cries filling the room as he continued to stroke her, milking every last drop of pleasure from her.
He held her close, his lips finding her neck once more as she clung to him, her nails digging into his back. She could feel the aftershocks of the orgasm radiating through her, leaving her breathless and weak. "That's it," he whispered, his voice rough with desire. "That's my good girl"
She buried her face in his chest, unable to meet his gaze. The intensity of the feelings she had for him were overwhelming, and she couldn't believe she'd allowed this to happen. But as he continued to stroke her gently, soothingly, she couldn't deny the sense of peace and contentment that washed over her.
"You know," Luke murmured, his lips trailing down her neck, "you could let me take care of you like this, you know. Let me be your lover." His fingers moved faster inside her, sending another wave of pleasure washing through her. "We could have this…whatever this is…whenever you want it."
Y/n's heart thudded in her chest, her body still trembling from the aftershocks of her orgasm. She wanted to say yes, to have him as her lover, but the words caught in her throat. She wasn't sure if it was because she was afraid of the complications that would come with it, or if she was simply too embarrassed to admit that she wanted more.
Luke's fingers continued to move inside her, his touch sending delicious shivers through her body. She couldn't deny the desire that still burned between them, the need for him that seemed to grow stronger with each passing moment. "All you have to do is say yes" he murmurs in her ear.
She closes her eyes, taking a deep breath, trying to calm the racing of her heart. His words, his touch, his presence…it's all too much. But what scares her the most is not the idea of giving in to this desire, but rather the thought of what will happen afterward. They can't keep this a secret forever. The consequences could be dire.

"You ask mom, she likes you better" with the triplets
Ivy knocked on the door to her younger sister's room with both of her other siblings beside her.
She heard a quiet response from Nova saying to come in before they all came in with bright smiles on their faces.
When Nova turned around from her desk and saw all three of them she immediately raised her eyebrows and crossed her arms across her chest.
“If the three of you are sneaking out again, I am not covering for you and I’m telling daddy.”
“Oh and not mom?” Autumn asked as she sat on her bed and looked at her.
“No, I said I was telling on you not that I wanted for all of you never to see your eighteenth birthday. I'm not that mean. As mom would say ‘she'll send you to see Jesus early’”
“Then we need a favor, little sister.” Axel said as he attempted to ruffle her hair, but she moved away and simply eyed him.
“What's in it for me?”
“You'll be helping your big brother and big sisters.”
“Nope. Not interested.”
“Come on! Please!”
“No.”
“You don't even know what the favor is! You benefit from it too.” Ivy exclaimed and Nova looked at her with a straight face.
“Still not interested.”
"Ask if we can go to Honey Pig!”
“And why can't you three do that?”
“You ask mom, she likes you better. Besides, if we ask she'll say no.”
“Not my problem. Not my fault you went joyriding in her car and scratched it.”
“I…. NOVA PLEASE! We're hungry!”
She simply sighed before pushing her glasses up on her face and stared at them before responding.
“I have terms and conditions.”
“Name it.”
“I said terms and conditions. That's plural. Anyway, clean my room for a month, walk Butterscotch when it's my turn, drive me anywhere I ask if I get permission to go, and…”
“No. Stop. Absolutely not.” Autumn said as she cut her off and Ivy and Axel rolled their eyes at her.
“Let the woman finish! I'm sure we can compromise.” Axel exclaimed while covering Autumn's mouth.
“Thank you, Axel. As I was saying…”
“EW! DID YOU JUST LICK MY HAND!?” Axel yelled as Autumn laughed.
“Shouldn't have tried to silence me.”
“Well somebody needs too.” Ivy mumbled and Nova was growing annoyed.
“Yall are on your own.”
“WAIT! Okay fine whatever your terms are, we'll do it.”
“I didn't agree!”
“Autumn, do you want to get fed or not!?”
“Fine.”
“That settles it. I'll go ask.”
Nova came downstairs to where you and Jack were with the triplets hiding on the steps to listen to what your response would be. She came and sat in between the both of you and you and Jack made eye contact with each other knowing that she was about to ask something.
“Mom?”
“Yes, Nova?”
“I'm hungry. Can we go to Honey Pig?”
“Before I answer your question, did you siblings put you up to this?” You asked as Jack stifled a laugh.
“Huh? Wait, what? Why do you ask?”
“Answer my question first.”
“Well….”
“They already asked me and I said no.”
“What!?”
“IVY, AX, AUTUMN I KNOW YOU'RE LISTENING ON THE STEPS AND NO IS THE FINAL ANSWER! SINCE ALL OF YOU ARE ON THIN ICE!” You exclaimed as you immediately heard them all groan.
“BUT MOM WE'RE HUNGRY!”
“There's chicken nuggets and uncrustables in the freezer.” Jack said as he continued to scroll through his phone.
“DAD, WE DON'T WANT THAT!”
“Beggars can't be choosers.”
“Dad! I'm calling grandma and telling her you're starving us.”
“Go ahead Ax. And tell her that you also took your mom’s car without permission and scratched it.”
“I…”
“Mm hmm, thought so.”
“I am never doing them another favor again.” Nova said as she huffed before getting up and making her way upstairs.
You made sure she was out of earshot before turning to Jack, but he spoke up first.
“I think it was better that we told them no instead of telling them that we went earlier when they were in school.”
“But what are we going to say when they find the leftovers?”

Hi! sooo excited you’ve opened your requests, Can I ask one with Lewis and Senna or Schumacher!reader where you meet him at a party or sth like that..
Thanks
I Admire: Lewis Hamilton x Senna!Reader
News had been spreading around the paddock that the daughter of a legendary f1 driver was going to be visiting. Some thought of Nelson Piquet’s daughter Kelly, others thought of Michael Schumacher’s daughter Gina-Maria. The outcome was one that no one was ready for as the literal female version of the late legendary Ayrton Senna came walking through the paddock as her flat shoes were silent on the ground but sounded loud due to the silence. Everyone wasn’t just amazed but shocked as no one knew that Ayrton had a partner much less of a child.
The girl was quickly taken from the middle of the driveway and straight towards the Mercedes garage where she would be spending the day. Throughout her stay, she had met most of the team including Toto, Angela, Bono, Michael, Lewis and George to name a few. She walked around with everyone interacting by asking question and also giving answers. Yet unbeknownst to her, a certain man had become fascinated with her as he studied her posture, her features, her intelligence and kindness along with being polite, the way she would passionately answer questions about herself and the biggest part was how she handled standing before the spot that her father had crashed into and sadly passed away. She held herself together well as she viewed and analysed the area before she said a short prayer in her head, leaving the roses leaned against the wall.
The race had begun and everyone was at the edge of their seats cheering and encouraging the teams as they all navigated the track with grace. While some led the race, others unfortunately dnf’ed until the race had come to a slow finish.
It was now time for the driver’s post race interviews and Lewis was up next. “Lewis, you did an amazing job driving today. Congratulations on your podium but apart from that I would like to ask, how did it go when you met Senna’s daughter earlier?” The journalist quizzed as Lewis straightened himself at the mention of her. “Ah yes I got to meet her. So far I can say that she’s an amazing woman who has her priorities straight, I admire her in a lot of ways as just from hearing the stories she told me. I admire her for her hard work, her patience, kindness, determination, resilience, and the fact that she was able to open up and be vulnerable to me. It really made my day as she is the closest thing the my role model that I’ll ever meet.” He answered not revealing the fact that he also had a huge crush on the young woman but non the less shocking everyone around, including the fans watching as no one expected him to have that much to say.
Meanwhile back in the garage, Y/n was smiling as she took in the compliments that Lewis threw her way, glad to have met her role model after her dad and of course the man she had a silly little crush on cause let’s be honest, who doesn’t? From here on out, it looks like both Y/n and Lewis would be seen together very often. Maybe as friends or even more one day.

hi hi lovely girl, can I please request more for Eddie and his daughter Roan? I'd love to see more from before Eddie and reader are dating, where Roan acts like a leech on a date and Eddie's both embarrassed and amazed? thank u! 🧡
ty for ur request!!!! single dad Eddie FOREVER ♥︎ eddie and roan | fem!reader
Eddie's sick to his stomach. Like, threw up before he came, nearly called you to cancel type sick. He didn't cancel because he's not dumb, he knows that the first few dates are the most vital, and he also thinks it would've been worse than just showing up. So he's here, outside of Morgan's dessert emporium for your third date, and he has an excited Roan in his lap.
She's in her second nicest outfit, having already worn the first for the first date, and then again for the second. Her hair is in primly done bunches that he knows from experience won't look so prim in about half an hour, the hair ties a cherry pink to match her pretty dress.
"Roanie, Roanie, macaroni," he sings under his breath, one of his hands encapsulating hers, swaying her chubby arm from one side to the other. He's looking out the window as he does, waiting for you to arrive. "Roanie, Roanie, Ro. Roanie, Roanie, macaroni, where'd your macaroni go?"
She cheers, "I ate it!" in her clumsy baby voice.
He squeezes her tiny cheek in tender fingers. "You did. My big girl ate all her dinner after daycare, because you're the best."
She climbs up to stand on his thigh, Mary Jane's he'd scrubbed clean earlier digging into his muscle. Or lack thereof. He doesn't exactly work out.
"When can we have– have cake?" she asks, rubbing her cheek into his.
He knows she's trying to be sweet. Too bad she almost knocks his front teeth out. He groans and drops his head into her shoulder, and she takes that for a hug.
"Thanks," he mumbles, big hand covering nearly the entirety of her back. "Cake? We're gonna have cake right now, babe, two minutes."
"You 'lready said two minutes," she says.
"I already said two minutes?" he asks. She pulls away to frown at him. "I did. Those two minutes are going super slow today, babe, that's not my fault, that's gravity."
She stares at him. He stares at her. You knock on the window and startle him out of his skin, though Roan isn't nearly so surprised. She sets her gaze on you through the dusty glass window and her lashes kiss the skin under her eyebrows, her eyes are that wide.
Eddie doesn't know if Roan knows your name, but she knows your face, throwing herself at the window with a great, electrifying squeal.
"Can I open the door?" you ask. You must be speaking loudly to be heard through glass and Roan's excitement.
He meets your eyes by accident and can't look away. "Yeah!" he shouts, and then winces. He can open the door himself. Loser, he thinks. You fucking loser.
The very first thing that had endeared him to you does the trick again: you're smiling like you aren't sure you should be smiling at all, more nervous energy than a bus of sixth graders on their first day of middle school, and he's a goner immediately.
Roan holds her hands out insistently and you hesitate to pick her up, waiting for his cue. When he nods enthusiastically you pull her up into your chest, graceless but well meaning. She takes your shoulders into small hands and stares at you, speechless.
It's not often Roan Munson finds herself with nothing to say. She's the chattiest girl alive now that words are in her palm, even if she's speaking straight gibberish.
"Hey, princess" you say, in your best approximation of a kid friendly voice, which isn't half bad, "Your daddy's got you all dressed up again, oh my goodness!"
Eddie gets out of the car and tries to retuck his shirt before you notice.
"Why was she in your lap?"
"What?" he asks, looking up, one eye squinted against the sun as it slinks behind the emporium.
"You don't drive around with her in your lap, right?" Your hands tighten in Roan's dress. "I mean– oh, I'm so sorry, not that you aren't safe–" You clear your throat. "I just mean, why was she in your lap? Obviously you don't drive around with her there. Unless you do."
He leaps in to save you, grateful that it's his saving you and not you saving him. "No, no, God, I strap her into her car seat. We were just waiting for you, that's all."
"Oh my gosh," you mumble, hiding your face in Roan's hair. "Well, that's good, isn't it? Can't embarrass myself anymore than that."
His relief starts to course in. While Eddie finds you funny and charming and so, so pretty, he'd forgotten the best thing about you — you're a loser, too. A huge dork, and a bona fide softie.
"Roan, you smell really nice." Your voice softens into some bubbly baby talk. "You smell yummy, almost as yummy as the emporium. I hope you and dad left room for cake."
"Chocolate," Roan says happily.
"Exactly." You smile up at him over her head. "Ready? I got a reservation by the ice cream, so Roan can watch them scoop it." You wiggle your eyebrows.
Roan is as mystified by the scoops as you'd thought, pulling against Eddie's loose grip on her waist and whining to be let down.
"Baby, we need to stay in our seats," he says, "so they know where to bring the cake."
He's telling the truth, mostly. It's been a long day and he doesn't wanna chase her around the room for the next half an hour.
"I can take her up to look?" you offer.
"No, you don't have to," he says.
"I'd like to. If that's okay?"
Eddie waves you off before he can think any better of it. You've plenty of time to talk. You've called him at home just to call him twice now, so he isn't too worried. He thinks things are going well.
You and Roan fast walk to the front of the parlour and watch the dessert makers scoop ice cream, blend milkshakes, and drizzle cake with melted chocolate. Roan says something, too far away for Eddie to hear, but you laugh and crouch down on your knees, your hand behind her back. Your other hand points at one of the dessert makers as they roll a waffle cone.
"You want one of those, too?" he hears you ask.
Yeah, Eddie would say things are going real well.

Simpbur and the reader having a long time relationship but suddenly he falls out of love and finds another obsession
Just pure heart-breaking angst
Simpbur Moving On
Simpbur x Gender Neutral Reader
Warnings: Pure, heartbreaking angst, creepy Simpbur, cheating 🫢
ANON, I’VE CRIED ABOUT 3 TIMES TODAY, WHY??? Jk, I’m pretty new to writing angst but honestly it’s pretty fun! Not as much fun as writing smut, but I love breaking my reader’s hearts ;)
Headcannons below cut!
~You and Wilbur had been together for ages, and you were so happy with him.
~Sure, he was obsessive, and you were one of his many obsessions.
~You’d watched him fall in and out of those other obsessions, but never assumed he could fall out of his obsession with you.
~He’d been acting distant, different, even.
~Wilbur would spend more and more time at work, leaving you alone, waiting impatiently for him.
~”Sorry, meetings ran late,” he’d say each time, loosening his tie and heading straight to his bedroom.
~You started just staying at your house most nights.
~After about a month after this all started, you got to his house after him.
~He was normally watching tv on the couch, but the bedroom door was open just a crack and the light was on, seeping into the hallway.
~You knew this couldn’t be good, an uneasy feeling in the pit of your stomach.
~Peeking in, your stomach dropped as your suspicions were confirmed.
~Pants around his ankles, glowing computer screen displaying an innocent photo of a girl. His hand was wrapped around his cock, frantically jerking off and muttering this mystery girl’s name. Photos of her lay strewn around on the bed, some even spattered with remnants of earlier… activities.
~Pressing your hand over your mouth to hide your sobs, you watch as your boyfriend, the love of your life, the one you wanted to marry, looked at another girl’s photos with the same look he gave you, moaning her name so loudly as he came all over a photo of her he obviously snuck while at work.
~You knew what you had to do.
~Waiting until he goes into the bathroom and starts the shower, you quickly walk into the room, grabbing the few things you keep at his house, shoving them into your bag before shutting the door for the last time.
~You find the rest of your belongings quickly, wiping away the torrent of tears as you scrawl a shaky note.
~I know about her. I’m blocking your number. I have my things. Don’t contact me again, you write, smacking the key to his house on the counter and pocketing the key he has to yours.
~One last look around the house, and you’re out for the last time. You don’t even look back as you get into you car, stamping on the accelerator and driving away.
~The next week is spent changing your locks, your number, and erasing every detail of Wilbur from your life.
~The whole time, the same words repeat in your mind.
~What was wrong with me? Why did he fall out of love? Why her?

Simon "Ghost" Riley x Male Reader
Summary: Simon and his husband have a fight that makes (Y/N) leave in the middle of the night for a drive, unbeknownst to Simon he gets kidnapped along the way, as Simon rushes to save (Y/N) he discovers many hidden things about his husband that no one was supposed to know.
Disabled reader, wears a leg brace due to a work accident.
Warnings: Cod typical violence, reader with military past, miscomunication, kidnapping, skiing accidents.
word count: 2 K
+18 themes, minors do not interact
Simon placed his glass down harsher then he should, juice spilled over the edge of it. “I am not being reckless.” He said.
(Y/N) glanced over from where he was cleaning up the kitchen, Simon had cooked so (Y/N) always insisted on cleaning, the other way around applied as well, one cooked one cleaned.
“You were shot 3 times and are now on leave until you are good enough to go back, one of the bullets missed a main artery by a few millimeters.” (Y/N) didn’t bother hiding the clear anger in his voice. “I could have lost you, Simon.”
Simon looked away. “I did what I had to, everyone got back safe.”
“But you didn’t, you would go on the next mission right now if Price called you in, I made my peace with that, I will always wait and you know that but 3 bullets, Simon.” He said.
Simon winced at the use of his name, (Y/N) rarely ever used his actual name over any shortened version of his name or pet name. “I get you are angry.”
“Oh do you?” (Y/N) asked as he placed things away. “Because I recall you almost breaking your arm and being sent on forced leave by Price just last month because he was concerned about you.”
“The mission-” “-wasn’t that bad, I get it, more than you realise. I-” (Y/N) interrupted only to get interrupted himself. “-You don’t know anything about being out in the field, you work a desk job because your youth was filled with spoiled trips to austria to ski in the mountains and you got too reckless as a young adult.” Simon said, not thinking about his words.
(Y/N) looked down at his leg, the brace on it and how the injury still hurt, it wasn’t that story but not Simon nor Ghost would ever find out about the true reason for it, that mission was classified beyond anything most people would ever see, a mission gone right despite the casualties and soldiers who were forced to retire early, (Y/N) included.
Seething hot anger flashed through (Y/N) but he took a breath. “I am going for a drive, we need milk.” (Y/N) didn’t look back, knowing Simon, his Simon was already regretting his words, this conversation or rather this fight was far too common for the both of them to have, everytime Simon came home with too bad of an injury or from being too reckless. Price always called him, always told him how the mission had gone.
(Y/N) grabbed his keys and jacket before getting into the car, pulling his injured leg in, it would never fully heal, it would always ache on good days and be too painful to even touch or look at on bad days. He had more bad days than good days.
(Y/N) drove to the gas station across town, without really needing to, they didn’t even need milk but that was always the excuse, always the reason. (Y/N) usually made some kind of cake with it the next day, if he could walk.
As (Y/N) excited the car and filled it up, a van pulled up besides his car, on the pump on the other side, he didn’t pay attention, simply finished pumping the gas before he looked to the side where a man was standing with a gun, pointed straight at him. (Y/N) scowled and held his hands up. “If you want my wallet I don’t have one, only my card.”
“Get in the van, Mister Riley.” Simon and him had gotten married earlier in the year, something small at the courthouse.
“No.” (Y/N) said as he knew he could take a bullet wound, not that he wanted to. It would drastically decrease his chances of survival.
He felt a gun pointed at his back. “My partner didn’t say you had a choice.”
(Y/N)’s eyes widened, he couldn’t handle both with his leg after that drive, it would not end well, he would get killed, but going along with them would also get him hurt. He made a quick decision and nodded. “Alright, please don’t hurt me.” He whimpered, fully satisfied with how convincing it sounded. The men placed a hood over his face and cuffed his hands before putting him in the van and taking off.
‘Okay, people taken to a secondary location always have a decreased chance of surviving, however they are most likely enemies of Simon who don’t know about me… Depending on how many there are I can get out… hopefully.’ (Y/N) thought as he started fake crying and whimpering, he needed to act scared even if he wasn’t being watched.
Simon knew something was wrong when half an hour passed and (Y/N) hadn’t come back home, though for the sake of making sure, he waited 10 more minutes before calling his husband, no matter what, no matter how angry (Y/N) always answered, Simon never wanted his past or an enemy catching up again, he couldn’t handle losing more people. Not again, not like his family.
When it kept ringing and went to voicemail, Simon cursed and called Price. It was picked up quickly. “Ghost, what the hell do you want it near midnight.” Price said.
“(Y/N) isn’t answering the phone.”
Price cursed on the other end. “How many minutes since you last saw him?”
“40 but he should have been back between 10 and 20 minutes ago, we had a fight, Price, I… I was… I can’t…”
“I know Simon, I will contact Laswall, see what we can do on our end, you can’t do much on your own, you are still injured, so stay steady and have your phone ready.” Price hung up.
Simon just sat still for hours, staring at his phone before it rung, (Y/N)’s face and toothy smile showed up. Simon lunged at his phone and picked up. “(Y/N) I-” “-I am afraid this isn’t your husband.” A voice interrupted, someone Ghost was too familiar with.
“What do you want?” Ghost asked.
“I will send you my7 location where you will show up, alone and unarmed, if you get that pretty little team of yours involved I will slice your husband's throat and send you a video before letting the rats feed on his corpse.” The man said.
Ghost growled. “Fine.” He said.
“Don’t do it Si!” Ghost could hear in the background of the call only for (Y/N) to cry out in pain. Simon’s blood ran cold as the call hung up. He just needed to get there. 20 minutes passed and he got a location, a factory a few hours out of town. He got into his car and took off, not even thinking to inform the team.
His emotions were numb and he wasn’t wearing his mask, yet he kept going, he couldn’t stop, if there was ever even a chance of saving (Y/N), of not making the same mistake again, he would take it, he would always take it. Their fight played in his mind over and over again, torturing him as he drove, he vaguely registered the music in the radio as something upbeat.
It was early morning when he came to the old factory, he vaguely registered the open door and vehicles parked outside as he walked straight up the door and inside, to his shock, bodies upon bodies of people laid spread out as though a fight had broken out, blood covered large areas of the factory floor. His blood turned ice cold as he ran inside, hoping to find (Y/N) alive only to find a chair with robe by the back, loosely tied together, whoever did this underestimated the prisoner.
Simon pulled his phone out as it began vibrating. He answered. “Ghost here.”
“... Ghost, come to base, (Y/N) is here… there is something you need to know. He is alive, injured but alive.”
Simon let go of a deep breath. “I… how did he even get there… car probably, erm, I will get there.” The base was a few hours away. He hung up and drove in silence to the base, barely even registering anything. He was confused but also relieved, the only man he had ever loved enough to fully see Simon, to make Ghost into Simon again, had somehow escaped and was at his base, the base no one was supposed to know about. Things weren’t adding up.
He drove onto base and got out, not remembering a mask, not even thinking about a goddamn mask.
He walked past a confused Soap and Gaz, ignoring them gaping at them as he walked to Price’s office, knocking before he entered. In one of the chairs, a heavily beaten up and bruised (Y/N) sat and Price, with a dark look in his eyes, was sitting behind his desk. “I will let you talk.” Price said and left.
Simon sat down and looked to (Y/N) who refused to meet his gaze. “What happened?” Simon asked.
(Y/N) winced before looking ahead. “4 years ago I was in a skiing accident that left me paralysed in both my legs, it took me a year and experimental surgery to get feeling back in them though one is permanently broken.” (Y/N) began.
“Yes I know this..” Simon said.
“It wasn’t hobby skiing. I was a soldier in a mission I can’t tell anyone about, not even my most trusted person, 2 teams of 20 people each, including a team of 3 were dispatched to take out a base of enemies that were holding high value targets.” (Y/N) didn’t look at Ghost. “Out of the 43 people, 10 of us made it out alive, the place was rigged with trap after trap, I was amongst the many injured on the way back, we successfully managed to get 4 out of 6 hostages with us.”
“You were forced to retire.” Simon said and looked away. “Were you reckless?”
(Y/N) shook his head. “No, I wasn’t, we were safe as we could be, yet I was paralysed, nearly died.” (Y/N) sighed. “I am sorry Si, for never saying this or telling you anything but I couldn’t, sure I could talk bootcamp and my various deployments but after I got onto a task force every single mission became confidential, much like your missions and then with my forced retirement, it just wasn’t something I looked back on with you. I lost a lot of good friends that week, a lot of really close allies. I had been out for a year and a half before we even met.”
Simon looked away. “Was anything else right? Or has everything been a lie?”
“You met my actual family, my mother does love you and even they don’t know much about my work, hell, they think after bootcamp and my deployments that I enlisted in a private security company in austria and on my off day, I got into an accident.” He said. “Except my cousin, she knows the truth because of her work.”
“Right, the medic, understandable…” Simon said and looked to the man he once trusted above all else. Someone who had promised to be there for him always, no matter what. His whole perception of the man had been a lie. “You made me teach you self defence.” Simon mused.
(Y/N) chuckled. “Yeah… that day is among my fondest, you wanting me to be able to protect myself with you away, it did actually help last night.” (Y/N) said. “I wouldn’t have gotten out this lucky if it wasn’t for it… I am sorry for lying, Simon but you must understand, I didn’t have much of a choice.”
Simon took his hand and gave him a small smile. “For better or for worse.”
(Y/N) leaned over and kissed Simon's cheek. “Your captain is a real scary man.” He said and chuckled. “Laswell had to clear me for him, she found my discharge papers.”
“Hmm, honourable discharge with a file that is mostly redacted.” Simon said. “Sounds like my future file.”
“Well I do like the sound of that, planning for a future with me, eh?” (Y/N) said.
Simon smiled a bit more. “You are the only reason I want to grow old.”
(Y/N)’s smile softened. “I love you too, Si.”

what is the family’s reaction when they find out that lola ran away!? & the process of returning her home pls (:
more of Buggy
Lola didn't get very far.
The plan was to go back to Canada. Jack had told her many times before thats were she belonged, so why not go back? It not like they would miss her since life seemed to revolve around Jack at the time.
It was very well thought out yet though. She didn't really have an idea how she was getting to Canada. When she left the house in the middle of the afternoon she climbed on a bus and traveled to Ann Arbor. From there she figured she would keeping bus hopping until she got to her destination or at least close to it.
After that? No idea. Nonetheless, she'd figure it out on the fly. But for right now she was on campus in Ann Arbor. Wandering around, trying to figure out where her brother was so she could give him goodbye gift, much like she had given Buggy back to Jack and she returned Luke's hat.
"Honey, can I help you find something? You look a little lost." A friendly voice called from behind her. Lola knew better than to talk to strangers, but she was so lost right now.
"I uh." Lola's mind went black trying to think of what to saw next. She never really thought of what she was going to do when she had eventually arrived at Yost. "I'm looking for my brother."
"Oh? Who's your brother?" The stranger pressed further.
"He's um um" His name was on the tip of her tongue, but for some reason she couldn't form the words to say his name. Her eyes darted everywhere until they landed on a familiar face. "Josh!"
~
"Lola come on we gotta go!" A stressed out Ellen called out from the kitchen. Expecting some sort of snooty response, but there was nothing.
"I told you before mom, I don't think she's here." Jack piped up. He had been sitting at the counter eating a sandwich. He had checked all of her regular hiding spots earlier when he was trying to five back buggy but couldn't find her.
That sent Ellen into a bit of panic mode. Lola was gone and she had no idea where to start looking for her. Does she start calling around to see if any friends or family had seen her or does she go straight to the police?
She chose the first option. She started calling people and recruited Jack, Luke and Alex to drive around and look for the missing girl.
"What did you do?" Luke squinted at his older brother. His immediate reaction to hearing his baby was missing was to get mad at the guy who made her disappear in the first place.
"I didn't do anything." Jack put a little more emphasis on the do. He was pretty positive he hadn't done anything more than normal this time.
"You always do something, you fu-" "No I dont!"
"Will you guys shut up? Your sister is missing and all you two idiots can do is argue." Alex piped up from the backseat. "Find her first, argue later"
"Fine, where do we start?"
~
Quinn was just sitting down with his precious piece of pizza. He had a long day with a test, a paper due, and a tough practice. He wanted to eat and maybe play some video games.
He had just taken a bite when Josh entered the house with his baby sister, who shouldn't be there at all.
"What are you doing here?" Quinn asked her. He had just gotten a txt from his mother and could feel the table vibrating beneath him with responses to what he had just told her.
"I have something for you" Lola placed the package on the stool next him. There she was done with her business at the hockey house and could be on her way to her next destination.
"And this couldn't wait until next time I came home?"
"No"
Lola gave her older brother a quick hug and asked to go to the bathroom. She slipped out the back while he wasn't looking, continuing on her way.
With her back to him Quinn finally had a chance to look at his phone. There were multiple messages from his mother, all alluding to one thing Lola was missing and he knew where she was.

Whoops, I kept writing until 2am
Uhhhhh anyway here's that Fast Car ficlet I promised @casscainsbiceps
Logan shouldn’t be driving. Sure, he could drink any human and a lot of mutants under the table, but tonight was intense even for him.
He’d managed to buy a used car a few weeks earlier, and since then he’d mostly taken it to a bar that was far enough outside the city that Wade wasn’t likely to find him there. He’d told himself that he was weaning off the bottle, slowly decreasing his alcohol intake until he could function without it. It was a lie, of course; any fool could see that. Didn’t stop him from trying, though.
Then she walked in and ruined everything.
He didn’t know her, and she didn’t know him. But her flowing red hair had tricked him, stopped his heart right in his chest and turned his blood to ice.
“Jean?” he’d said. She didn’t respond. That alone should have told him to drop it, but instead, like a complete idiot, he’d reached out and grabbed her arm.
“Jean?” he repeated. “Jean, is that y—”
She whipped around, startled and confused and definitely not Jean Grey.
“Sorry,” he mumbled. “Thought you were someone else.”
Not-Jean yanked her arm away with a look of disgust. Logan turned back to the counter, finished his beer, then flagged down the bartender and ordered three fingers of whiskey. Everything between the moment the glass touched his lips and the moment he jammed his keys into the ignition was a blur.
The road had very few street lights; the moon offered little in the way of visibility. Logan was vaguely aware that he was drifting, but didn’t clock that his foot was pressing down on the gas harder than he meant to. That realization came when he went straight through a bend in the road and rammed into a tree at almost a hundred miles per hour.
He sat there, unmoving, waiting for his brain to catch up and his heart to slow down. With shaking hands he put the car in reverse and tried to back out, but to no avail. He hadn’t even owned the thing for a full month before destroying it. He ripped out the steering wheel and flung it through the shattered windshield.
God. Fucking. Damnit.
He should call one of those not-quite-taxi cars—Uberlift, or whatever they were called. He always had trouble remembering the names of things in this universe. But first, he should definitely call a tow truck.
A dull throbbing pain was building up behind his eyes as he pulled a piece of glass out of his forehead. Maybe he should just get Wade to pick him up instead.
No. Fuck no. Absolutely not. He might be the Worst Wolverine, but he still had a shred of pride. He’d go on foot once he could walk in a straight line. In the meanwhile, he would just sit in the wreckage of his car and listen to the radio while he sobered up. Assuming it still worked—which, miraculously, it did.
He must’ve hit the dashboard when he crashed, because the radio wasn’t set to his usual station. Instead of the pounding drums and harsh metal vocals he was used to, he was greeted by something else entirely.
“You got a fast car,” came a soft voice, “I want a ticket to anywhere.”
He reached for the radio dial, then paused. The warm bass notes melted like honey over the drums, gently flowing through the vocals and lead guitar. This wasn’t so bad. He sat back and closed his eyes. The singer continued on, telling a story about joining up with someone to escape a life she didn’t want—small, poor, static. He’d heard this story plenty of times before, but something about this version was different. It was captivating in a strange, solemn way.
He was actually starting to enjoy this.
Then the fourth stanza began.
“You see my old man’s got a problem. He lives with the bottle, that’s the way it is.”
Logan’s stomach twisted. This was not the kind of story he wanted to hear.
“He says his body’s too old for working. His body’s too young to look like his.”
How many more decades would it take for Logan’s body to look his age? He’d lived two hundred years, but he still looked fifty. Nothing about him had changed. Not his body, not his habits, not his self loathing.
“My mama went off and left him
She wanted more from life than he could give
I said, somebody's got to take care of him
So I quit school and that's what I did.”
Images of the woman from the bar flashed in his mind, but this time she had Jean’s face. What would the real Jean think, seeing him like that? He’d always been a drunk, but at least before he’d been a person. The only thing sitting in this car was an empty husk that reeked of booze.
“You got a fast car. Is it fast enough so we can fly away?” the singer asked. “We gotta make a decision: leave tonight or live and die this way.”
How many times had his family tried to tell him the same thing—and how many times had he ignored them until they gave up? It wasn’t just the reprimanding he’d hated; it was the genuine concern, the pity, that got under his skin. He hated being pitied more than anything else. At least, that’s what he had thought.
Suddenly the drums kicked up, drowning out his thoughts.
“So I remember we were driving, driving in your car
Speed so fast, I felt like I was drunk
City lights lay out before us
And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder
And I-I, had a feeling that I belonged
I-I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone…”
God, it was so hopeful it hurt. Logan couldn’t remember the last time he’d felt that kind of freedom. Maybe he never had. There was something else in the singer’s voice, something he couldn’t quite identify. It floated in the space between longing and giving up. It made his chest feel tight.
“I know things will get better
You'll find work and I'll get promoted
We'll move out of the shelter
Buy a bigger house and live in the suburbs.”
“Life ain’t like that, sweetheart,” he sneered. “It’s just one disappointment after the next.” Yet somehow, in spite of himself, he actually did feel some hope for the narrator. Her life didn’t have to go to shit the way his did. Maybe she still had a chance.
The chorus came back, but something about it felt different, even though it was the exact same as before. Like the narrator’s dreams were being tempered—or tamped down—by reality. His eyes began to burn.
“You got a fast car
I got a job that pays all our bills
You stay out drinking late at the bar
See more of your friends than you do of your kids.”
Resignation. That was the feeling. Tears began to slip out, one by one, leaving wet tracks down his face. If this girl couldn’t make it, what chance did he have?
“I'd always hoped for better
Thought maybe together you and me would find it
I got no plans, I ain't going nowhere
So take your fast car and keep on driving.”
It was too much. He couldn’t breathe. Guilt was crushing his rib cage and flattening his lungs. After several excruciating seconds he managed to suck in a breath, only for it to come out as a gasping, heaving sob. Decades of grief poured out from him, burning his throat and eyes and skin.
That was it. The dam had broken. Sobs turned into wails; wails faded into whimpers.
The chorus returned again, but now the sweet naivete of youth had turned as bitter as whiskey. There were no happy times to look forward to. The narrator had tried to take a different path, but it led her right back to the same dead end. As for Logan, all he’d found was that the bottom of a bottle tasted the same in this universe as it did in his own.
He leaned forward and rested his head on the dashboard. It took a few deep breaths, but he managed to calm down just enough to hear the final lines of the song.
“You got a fast car. Is it fast enough so you can fly away?”
Please, God, make it stop.
“You gotta make a decision: leave tonight or live and die this way.”
And just like that, it was over.
Logan barely had time to process anything before the radio let out a horrendously loud record scratch, reminding all listeners that they were tuning into a station that made its money from advertisements. He skewered the radio with his claws before the DJ could get a word out.
It had been a long time since anything had torn him apart like that. He was an open wound; bleeding and vulnerable. Wasn’t alcohol supposed to help wounds?
“Not these ones,” he muttered. “Gotta let ‘em dry out.”
He was so tired. Tired of drinking. Tired of crying. Tired of hating himself. He just wanted to fall asleep and wake up as a completely different person, unburdened by his past. Barring that, he wanted to go lie down somewhere that wasn’t the wreckage of a junky old car.
Without any conscious thought, Logan’s hand pulled his phone out of his pocket and began dialing Wade’s number. His mouth, now fully disconnected from his brain, started fumbling through the lyrics of that song. Be someone, be someone, be someone…
He’d have to look it up and listen to it again.
This time he’d hear it sober.
#Wolverine#Logan Howlett#Deadpool and Wolverine#angst#Fast Car#my writing#casual convo#I hope you like this#it took several hours to write#is his relationship with Wade platonic or romantic? I'll leave that up to you#I considered adding some Wade/Logan dialogue at the end#make them have a bit of a heart to heart#but Wade is too unserious and the tonal whiplash did not work at all#so I left it here instead

We know that Steve thinks his Dad is an asshole, but he doesn’t really mention his mother other than a few off hand comments. She goes on his Dad’s business trips because she doesn’t trust him not to cheat, she’s well respected in Hawkins, and Steve used her as a reference when he applied for the job at Family Video. So I got to thinking about what if she was a good person also trapped under the pressure of Mr Harrington, just like Steve? What if Steve had a good relationship with her? And this happened
Mrs Harrington who loved her husband once, who had a husband who loved her back. She loved his ambition, his drive, his dedication. She didn’t love it when it started to turn into him spending all hours at the office, at business meetings. When it started to turn into something money hungry. But it was his job. He knew best. Right?
Mrs Harrington has a baby because she wants one. She’s always wanted to be a mother. Mr Harrington has a kid because it’s What You Do. You have a kid so they can take over your company, carry on your family legacy. Uphold the Harrington name. His reputation. A nanny can raise them when they’re little. When they're older they can follow in his footsteps. Popular, likes cars, plays basketball.
Mrs Harrington raises little Steve as much as she can. He’s a little Mama’s boy. She’ll go to the salon to get her hair done and Steve sits in the chair next to hers, driving his toy cars up and down the seat. Steve drags her outside so he can show her this “Really cool swimming trick, Mama!” and she watches him happily from the porch seats, commenting that he swims so well is he sure he’s not part fish? He’ll watch her put her make up on and get ready for a Charity Gala she’s organising. He tells her she’s beautiful, Mama and she’ll run one of her big fluffy make up brushes across his cheeks so he can be beautiful too.
Steve gets older and Mr Harrington takes over in shaping Steve’s life. He’s a man now. A Harrington. Mrs Harrington isn’t quite sure what to do. She thinks her husband might be a bit harsh but he was a teenage boy once, he must know what’s best for him. Right? He’s the man of the family. The head of the household and what he says goes. She isn’t so sure now, but it’s what her father always taught her. It’s what she always learnt in Church. She fawns under his harsh gaze and feels the guilt churning in her gut as she doesn’t know what to do. Steve starts pulling away from her, and her husband keeps flirting with his young secretaries.
It comes to a head in Steve’s senior year when she’s with her husband on a business trip in New York. Her husband’s secretary gets a call that Steve’s in the hospital after getting into a fight with another student - Billy Hargrove. Her husband brushes it off as ‘Boys will be boys’. A Harrington shouldn’t have lost. Maybe this will teach him about consequences. Did he even think about what this could have done to their reputation? He doesn’t tell his wife.
Mrs Harrington is the only one in their hotel room when the secretary calls again with an update from the hospital. She finds out that he knew that their only son was in the hospital and didn’t tell her. It’s the last straw. Her husband comes back to the hotel room smelling of expensive liquor and someone else’s perfume. They get into a screaming match and she packs her bags and calls a taxi. She calls the hospital from the airport that she’s on her way.
She gets the first plane she can and rushes straight to the hospital. The nurse at the reception desk tells her what room he’s in and she tears up as soon as she sees Steve.
“Oh my baby. I’m so sorry.”
Steve locks eyes with her and his eyes water. “Hi Mama.” His voice is quiet.
She rushes over to hug him and his teary eyes turn into violent sobs, her whispering comforting nothings to her baby boy as he cries. She came as soon as she heard, she’s so sorry, he’s okay now. She doesn’t tell him yet that she wasn’t there earlier because her husband didn’t tell her. Her wedding ring feels heavy on her finger.
When Steve is recovering at home, asleep in the other room, she rings a divorce lawyer.

A Man From Another Time
A new one ! No need to remind you about my very strange writing schedules lmao This one came out of a corner of my mind as I asked myself "what if Arthur travelled with Francis Sinclair to 2023 ?"
I think I'll be doing a whole series of Modern!Arthur ! I just love picturing him trying things from the 21st century and being like totally thrilled by his discoveries !
And look at these absolutely gorgeous blue dotted socks
Modern - Arthur Morgan x GenderNeutral!Reader
Word count : 3.1k
Short summary : Somehow, Arthur has time-travelled with you to your own era, and discovers a world he never thought about.
A/Note : It’s based on a French experience, forgive me if it’s inaccurate.
Tags : cute, Arthur being like a kid, modern technologies, where are horses ?, overwhelmed boah, time-travelling, from 1899 to 2023, Francis Sinclair, post chapter 6
******
"Where are the horses ?"
This was the very first thing Arthur asked when you took him out in the city you were living in. His arrival at your place was rather strange and sudden as you woke up one night with him standing in your living room, completely unfazed and scared about something that might have happened earlier on. You had switched all lights on, absolutely terrified by this tall man wearing a union-suit, covered in bruises, coughing blood, unarmed, who looked at you with fear in his eyes. The only thing which made you keep your calm was Francis Sinclair, who was with him, holding him by the shoulders.
"We need some help here !" Francis had told you
You had met Francis while having a drink at the bar. He had first told you about time-travelling, you did not expect it to be true until he made you go through a door which led you straight to Saint-Denis, somewhere in 1899. Francis was a very peculiar man who had enjoyed playing with your thoughts about time-travelling. You never expected to move from an era to another, being somewhat scared to cause a paradox which would lead to some serious issues in your own time. You had watched many movies about paradoxes and did not want ending up into one of them.
The very first thing Francis had explained you was that Arthur had a tuberculosis, leading you to rush to your car in the middle of the night to drive to the nearest hospital. Arthur was absolutely mortified when he got inside, not saying a single word, even when you got to the hospital and dragged him inside. He coughed, still shaken and limping. Francis kept explaining him that you were going to see a doctor, but Arthur felt scared by what was happening. He had followed Francis into this strange door leading to your place, and there he was, with all these folks wearing white blouses and masks surrounding him. He had to remain at the hospital for a few days for his health to stabilise itself with the set of antibiotics given to him. You heard his voice for the first time when he got surprised by the doctor’s response to his illness.
"Tuberculosis has a cure ?"
Yes, his illness had a cure, there was enough hope for him to survive with the modern medicine. If Francis had decided to leave him behind in 1899, Arthur would have died on the top of that mountain in Roanoke Ridge. Francis had brought him to you right after Dutch had abandoned him, and Arthur was still devastated by this set of events that had happened a few minutes ago. In fact, he unexpectedly tried looking around the room to spot you nearby, afraid someone else was about to abandon him. You could not do that, you could not leave this poor man behind.
"You’re gonna be okay, sir." a nurse told him. "What’s your name ?"
"Arthur…" he groaned. "Arthur Morgan... I…I was…-"
"It’s okay, you’re okay."
Tears started streaming on his cheeks as they put an oxygen mask over his bruised face, you had watched him from distance while Francis had explained you the whole situation about Arthur’s old gang falling apart, his father-figure turning against him, his overall sacrifice for his brother. You felt the need to take care of him, Francis did not bring him to you by mistake, he knew you would help.
"It’s alright Arthur, we’re gonna take care of you." the nurse had told Arthur to calm him down
You had spent that night next to Arthur’s bed at the hospital, holding his hand while he was coughing, sobbing while remembering these past events, the way Dutch had betrayed him. You had tried your best to calm him down all night long, almost feeling devastated for this man you did not even know, ready to give up a piece of your own freedom to nurse him back to health and, probably, make him forget about his former life. He was certainly going to have some hard time to accommodate to this world, 124 years ahead of his time.
****
You had been taking care of Arthur for weeks already, Francis having been gone somewhere, leaving you alone with this peculiar roommate. You gave him your room, sleeping on the sofa of the living room in order to provide him with his own personal space and not bother him while you were either cooking, doing your laundry, watching tv or even working from home. For the first few days, Arthur hardly left your room, feeling constantly tired and mostly unable to walk around your place, only making it to the bathroom. These antibiotics given to him were certainly a cause to this permanent exhaustion, but he did not mind. He thanked you for nursing him back to health and being so kind with him perhaps twice a day.
His attitude was sweet, if not downright clingy at times. Arthur’s overall trauma following Dutch’s abandonment led him to develop a permanent need to have you around him, you could not spend a whole day at your workplace because you knew how much your guest longed to have you with him. After searching on the internet, you had found that Arthur was most likely suffering from a severe PTSD, but you did not mind. In fact, you enjoyed having Arthur near you, knowing he was feeling relaxed by hearing your footsteps, your voice, or by just seeing you.
Arthur had put all his trust on you since you brought him back from the hospital. Despite displaying his usual rowdy behaviour at times, he still obeyed your rules. You liked his overall presence at home, it made your life more enchanting to know that you were not going back to your empty place, but were going to see Arthur. It certainly brought the two of you quite close, enough for you to start displaying some physical affection towards him., something he had mostly forgotten following his arrival at your place. Sometimes, you would run your fingers in his hair, and he adored that. He adored everything you were doing to him. You were like an angel, his saviour. The one who almost brought him back to life.
Some moments were certainly funnier than others. When Arthur started feeling better, he finally had the occasion to take a shower instead of rubbing some wet cloth on his body. Poor man spent about ten minutes trying to figure out how your shower worked, absolutely shocked to feel hot water coming of it. You could hear him laugh, not used to this peculiar feeling it gave him. It tickled him ! Sometimes, he would even sing under shower, humming a few old songs with his rather raspy voice. At some point, he nearly broke your hairdryer, not fully understanding how it worked. Oh, and also your coffee machine. Arthur was not good with modern technologies yet.
You had seen him glance through the window for days, looking around your room, reading some of the books you had on your shelves. Once he felt better, he even walked inside the living room and was absolutely amazed by the TV, looking around to see where the projectionist platform was. He had jumped back when you switched it on, swearing at your TV for being so loud. When he first saw your phone laying on the counter, he took it between his hands and genuinely believed it was some piece of decoration.
"What’s that ?" he had asked, not understanding what this device was, looking like a very tiny TV screen
"It’s a phone. I’ll get you one, someday."
"That lil’ thing’s a phone ? You gotta be kiddin’ me !"
"You can even take instant pictures with it. And record stuff."
"Instant pictures and record ? But can you still call folks ?"
Arthur’s rather childish fascination for the modern world was fun to watch. It took you about a week to explain him how your TV worked, how your laptop could be switched on, how he could use your keyboard, having been used to typewriters… or to his own hands. His face, whenever you were switching your phone or your laptop on, was absolutely priceless ! You saw him randomly gaze the ceiling, trying to understand how your light bulb worked from up there. At some point, he kept playing with the switch, being mesmerised by how quick your lights could switch on and off.
"What a progress !" he exclaimed
You had introduced him to 20th century music, he seemed to be fond of rock and roll and awkwardly had danced on some songs from The Doors or The Rolling Stones. At least, he was doing much better than the day Francis brought him, even when he was listening to sad songs like the ones from Johnny Cash. His overall fascination for modern music was beautiful to witness, he even shed tears while listening to some songs he found sad. It was so hard for him to accommodate to this world, but listening to modern music made it easier.
At some point, you decided to take him out to show him the world you lived in. You had bought Arthur some clothes from local thrift stores after explaining him how men were dressing themselves up. He loved tee-shirts and sweatpants, you had mostly seen him wandering around your place dressed in those. Knowing you were going outside to take a walk, Arthur decided to ditch his sweatpants to wear some jeans instead. It suited him well ! You had trimmed his hair every three months, no one would have thought that man was from 1899 at first sight… until he would start talking.
As soon you left your place, Arthur felt overwhelmed by the world surrounding him. He had not stepped a foot outside your place since you brought him back from the hospital following his diagnosis. His first remark was quick to come, he came from 1899, when cars were far from being as popular as they at your time. Where were the horses ? You took your time to explain him that these shiny metallic figures on four wheels were the equivalent stagecoaches, and that motorcycles could be seen as the modern version of horses. At first, Arthur believed horses were all gone.
"So you killed all horses ?!" he gasped, looking somewhat angered and shocked
"Of course not !" you chuckled. "We just don’t use them anymore, but we don’t kill them. Cars are way faster than horses, so that’s why they got built. For us to travel faster."
"What’s the point of goin’ faster if you can’t take time to look around ?"
"Our society makes us want things fast, and cars are one of the tools which allows us to be faster."
Arthur nodded. What an overwhelming sight, a massive amount of information to process ! He wanted to analyse one of the cars parked nearby and moved on to the road to gaze at the wheels, a bus nearly ran into him as you jerked him towards you. Arthur looked petrified when as the bus passed by so fast, clinging his fists onto your shirt. He was obviously not used to see vehicles move at such speed!
"Good lord !" he gasped. "I nearly got killed right here !"
"Alright, I think you’re going to hold my hand."
Arthur did not respond, he did not even react when you grabbed his hand. You started walking on the sidewalk, keeping Arthur close to you while he kept looked around, nearly stumbling a few times, not looking where he was going. You almost felt like you had a giant child with you as he spent about a third of his time asking you what this place was, why there were green and red lights, why the buildings were sometimes this high, where were the sherifs. At some point, he even stopped your walk to glance at the store, exposing clothes for women. Some casual high-waisted shorts with black shirts.
"So women only wear underwear now ?" he asked. "They ain’t covering their ankles anymore ?"
"Some still do. Depending on your cultural beliefs, you can cover your ankles, your hands, or your head."
"And women walkin’ around in their actual underwear is acceptable now ?"
"No. Men and women can’t just walk in their underwear."
You were not ready to explain him anything about swim wear, he would probably confuse bikinis and boxers with actual underwear. Arthur was discovering a new world, enough for you to smile at him when he was stopping to look at casual things which were not this casual in his time. He even got completely amazed by a screen moving on a nearby billboard, showing an image of a Neil Armstrong going during the landing on the moon. An exhibition about Apollo 11 was currently available in your city.
"What’s that ?" he asked, pointing at the image
"What ? The rocket ?"
"I get it’s a rocket, but why is thy feller going down ? Where was he ?"
"Oh, that’s Neil Armstrong about to set foot on the moon. There’s an ex…-"
"Someone set foot on the moon ?!"
He was shocked by this, as his core memory was still focused on 1899, with electric chairs still in progress and planes being only prototypes. Arthur would have been around 106 years old in 1969, provided he did not have tuberculosis, survived two World Wars, the Wall Street Crash of 1929 and the Military Administration until 1944. You decided to take him to the exhibition for him to learn more about the events which led to the Apollo 11 mission, Arthur did not let go of your hand, asking you several questions about the short movies displayed, spatial suits, even what a rocket looked like. His puppy eyes glancing around the exhibition made your day more bright, he was almost not the same man the one Francis had brought you months ago !
After the exhibition, you took a break in the park. Arthur casually took a cigarette out of one of his pockets. He was looking at people walking by, families and simple town folk, dressed so differently than people from his own era. For months, he had not left your place, he barely knew what people looked like and how they behaved. He still tried greeting them, but a vast majority of them did not respond to his peculiar politeness. People did not greet each other anymore, at least in cities, and it somehow made him sad. Arthur suddenly turned back to you and pointed a plane passing above your city.
"Y/N ! What’s that ?!"
I"t’s a plane, Arthur." you smiled. "People take them to travel faster. Faster than cars."
"Can we try goin’ on a plane ?"
"Sure thing, but not now."
"That’s so amazing ! I wasn’t born in the right era !"
You wanted to contradict him. As far as you knew, you had experienced numerous financial crises, were on a brink of a new war and had gone through a global pandemic. You deeply wanted to tell Arthur that he was somewhat wrong, but the sheer innocence he kept displaying made you change your mind. In no way could you spoil this moment, stop the discovery of this new world.
After a day wandering around the city, Arthur felt exhausted. He had not walked this much for weeks, still trying his best to remain in shape while being around your place, carrying the groceries from your car to the kitchen, sometimes doing the laundry for you, cleaning the plates when you were not home while watching TV. He enjoyed watching documentaries to learn more about the your own world and like sitcoms like F.R.I.E.N.D.S. and Malcolm, often asking you to watch these with him. You still requested him to help you to prepare some food, to which he obliged. He loved doing this and secretly loved being with you.
You ate before the TV, watching an old romantic movie you could not even name. Arthur nearly fell asleep in the process while his arm carefully moved around your shoulders. You smiled as you noticed him slowly drifting into sleep, still strong enough to make a very first move towards you. He had done that before, mostly preferring short embraces or resting his head on your shoulder at times, allowing you to kiss his forehead or his cheek. This was a big move !
"Arthur, go to bed." you smiled, gently passing your hand through his hair you had cut yourself
"Hmmm… yeah…"
Arthur rose from your couch and limped towards your bedroom, getting his jeans off to fall on the bed. His legs were so painful, enough for him to struggle lifting them up ! You calmly approached him, dragging a blanket above him, his eyes remained open.
"Care to join me ?" he smiled
"Well… why not."
You took a few clothes off, slipping under the blanket as Arthur dragged you into a very sudden embrace. You had almost forgotten how your own bed felt like, being used to your sofa. His warm body made you feel safe, very safe. His arms were wrapped around your waist, he had forgotten how great it felt to have someone to embrace. He kissed the top of your head as the two of you drifted asleep, leading you to wake up alone the next day. You glanced around, stretching a little as you heard the faint sound of your coffee machine in the living room, leading you to leave your room to come face to face with Arthur standing before the counter, having prepared you a warm coffee.
"Mornin’ darlin’." he smiled. Made you some coffee.
Arthur looked delightful, wearing a large white top with a pair of green boxers you had thought would be cool on him. He was also wearing these funny winter-themed socks you had offered him on a random occasion ! A pair of red socks with Christmas trees and stars on the. He first thought they were ridiculous, but came to enjoy them, cherishing them like any gift you were willing to offer him. He had even baked a chocolate cake !
"Morning." you smiled, kissing his cheek while he was sipping his coffee, causing him to blush. "Didn’t know you could use the oven !"
"Well… I tried some stuff." Arthur answered with a large smile. "Red a book and cooked."
You smiled even more more at Arthur’s sudden pride. He did really well, the cake tasted great. At first, you had forbid him to use the oven, being persuaded he would cause much more trouble than expected. You did not want to come back from work and find out that your place was one fire because Arthur was not able to understand how your oven worked. These past months were fun and you looked up for what was ahead. Arthur was just a man from another time, lost in a world that was not his… but, at least, he was no longer ill and was doing alright, mostly !
to be continued, maybe, maybe

It was still a bit early for Asuna to be asleep at this point, so Levi didn't try to be quiet as he slowly opened the large door to their bedroom, and closed it softly. He looked around for her for a few seconds before realizing the large balcony door was open. He saw her figure sitting out there, despite the weather being a bit cold, and her only having a light dress on. He felt terrible. If only he was able to realize sooner the pain he had been causing her since she had been here. Maybe he was just trying to avoid all sorts of deep emotions with her, considering he didn't expect from the get go that it would turn out the way it has.
Levi walks towards the balcony slowly, seeing her sitting on one of the balcony chairs, staring straight ahead. She knew he was there, but she refused to turn around. She was completely mentally drained and exhausted, not just from earlier in his office, from everything. It was time for him to say his peace. Levi takes a deep breath and looks at her with a soft expression, despite her not looking back. Finally, he tries to speak.
"I'm sorry." He says quietly, but still not taking his eyes off her.
It takes a few seconds for her to gather the strength to turn around and look at him. Not getting out of the chair, she looks at him watching her from a few feet away. The look in her eyes made his heart skip a beat. She was so beautiful, even when she was sad, even when she looked at him with uncertainty and anger. She doesn't respond. He may have just apologized, but for what? He was going to have to say more if he wanted her to actually understand.
"Really? Are you?" She speaks up. "For what?"
"You know what."
"Maybe, but you need to be more specific than that."
Levi glares at her and signs in annoyance. "What the fuck do you want me to say?" He states without trying to raise his voice at her.
"Oh, I don't know?" She coos sarcastically. "For starters, maybe you're sorry for leaving me in the dark?! Not telling me the truth about the threats against me and keeping secrets? For ignoring me? For locking me in this damn room while you're away doing God knows what?"
"I haven't been locking the door recently-"
She continues, ignoring his stupid comment. "Or maybe that you're sorry for leaving me in the dark?! Not telling me the truth about the threats against me and keeping secrets? Oh! Or maybe that you're sorry for forcing yourself onto me the first night I came here, and continuing to do so after that, without attempting to get to know me or have any thoughts for my feelings at all?! For simply marrying me and having me in your bed for the mere fact that you want to get back at my father!" Her voice raises, almost yelling at this point.
Don't cry. Don't cry. Don't cry. She thought to herself. God. My stomach hurts.
He stays silent for a few moments, looking down, feeling unworthy to look in her eyes right now. Once again, she has rendered him speechless. He has never in his life had a conversation like this before with a girl. Or more like, a girl he cares about... so much, and he didn't know why, it was driving him insane.
"Well?!" She speaks up again, but he gives no response. He had really hoped that she didn't notice the sweat that was coming down his forehead at his sorry attempt at trying to figure out how to talk to her.
He still says nothing, trying to build up the words to speak. She was right, and he knew it. He just sat there and wondered how on Earth he was doing to fix this.
"Whatever." She says, wiping a lone tear that was falling from her cheek. She attempts to walk off, not wanting to be in the same room as him any longer, but he stops her as she tries to walk past him, grabbing her arm lightly.
"Wait."
She stops and looks up at him, hoping that finally he will say something.
"You're right." Levi says in a monotone voice, stopping again for several seconds. "You... You deserve better."
"I know." She responds, pulling her arm away from his grasp and sitting down on the bed, looking down as he stands in front of her from a few feet away.
"I guess I didn't do a very good job at explaining it earlier." He admits, taking in a deep breath, trying his hardest to gather the words. He walked closer toward her, looking down at her while she sat down on the bed. She was so eager to hear what else he had to say.
"When I was notified about the anonymous kidnapping threats against you, I panicked. All I wanted to do was keep you safe and away from all of this bullshit, I didn't want to stress you out more." He stops... looks down at her with eyes that are filled with genuine honesty. She looks up at him, continuing to listen. Between them both, they can't get over how gorgeous they both look to each other, the moonlight was hitting both of their faces so perfectly.
"After earlier, I realized I can't stand when you're upset with me." He puts a hand on her shoulder, rubbing it softly, causing her to tense up a bit. "I... I will try to be more honest with you from now on..." He pauses again.
"You will try?" She speaks up, trying to keep her cool. Though it seems like that's as best as she's going to get at this moment with him. She sighs and closes her eyes in frustration. "Okay..."
"I know you don't want to be here... and you never asked for this..." Levi continues. "I...I can't explain it... The way I feel about you, I just... I want to hold you. Protect you. Keep you safe from anyone who could hurt you..."
She stays silent, taking in every word he's saying, while trying not to feel flustered inside at his words.
"I... I do want to know you." He says the words she's been wanting to hear since she got here. "I just... I don't know how to. I've never had a relationship like this before, with anyone."
Asuna gets up, looking up at him and moving closer. This is probably the first time since she's met Levi that she feels truly touched at his words. She hopes he isn't just saying all of this just to calm her down, but when looking into his eyes as he speaks, she notices that the emotion in his face is nothing but genuine, a look she hasn't seen him wear before. Maybe he really is being honest, maybe he really does want to change for her, but this doesn't mean that things are entirely fixed on her end.
"You won't know how to until you try." She responds, giving him a soft smile that makes his heart beat faster. He nods lightly, and attempts to take his hand in hers, which she does back.
"Please... don't shut me out anymore." Asuna says, almost pleading quietly. He squeezes her hand tighter, while putting his other hand on her cheek and caresses it, which causes her to melt to his touch. She may still be unsure about him, but she can't deny the fluttering in her stomach when he holds her in his arms. Though he still doesn't say anything back.
"Levi?"
"Yeah?" He responds, completely lost in her eyes.
"Did you hear what I said?"
"Yeah." He sighs, pausing. "I never wanted to shut you out."
"You already have!" She raises her voice, letting go of his hand and attempting to walk away again.
"No..." He grabs her hand again, pulling her back to him and wrapping his arms around her waist, holding her in place with his hands caressing her back. "Please. Don't leave."
"What do you want from me?" She says as he holds her tightly, his lips inches from her's.
"I don't know..." He hesitantly says, hoping she won't try to get away from him again to that response. "I just want... you..."
With that, he puts his forehead to hers and tries to lean in for a kiss after a few seconds, but she pulls back. Moving her face away from him in an attempt to tell him she is still extremely upset. Trying to keep her tears from running again, she closes her eyes and contemplates her intimate future with Levi Ackerman.
"I'm sorry." He says once again, catching her attention as she looks up at him, her eyes watering. He moves his hand up to her cheek once again and wipes the coming tears from her pretty eyes. "Please... Don't leave. Don't hate me. I'm sorry."
"I know..." She says in a crying state. She didn't know what to do at this point. Should she just accept his apology and go from here? Or should she continue arguing with him until she gets a response out of him that fully satisfies her? She decided she was better off going with the first option, she didn't try to break free from his grasp, she just stood there, speechless. He kisses her forehead and all over her face before pulling her into a hug. He held her tightly as he caressed one hand over her soft hair while the other caressed her back. Her hands were flat against his chest, not hugging him back, instead just crying. She wasn't scared of him anymore, this conversation they had caused her to get to know his personality and what kind of person he was a whole lot better. She wasn't crying because she was scared, she was crying because she just wanted him to simply love her like she deserves, hold her because he wanted to. Kiss her without the thought of sex behind his mind. This conversation didn't fix everything, mainly she realized what a complicated and troubled man he was. This wasn't going to solve all of their problems, but it was a start.
He kisses the top of her head, holding her tighter and tighter with each moment that passes by. He has never felt so nervous in front of a girl before, he cursed himself quietly as he tried to understand this brand new feeling. He was too nervous to tell her, but he was going to try to do better. He wanted her to feel loved, to feel special, to feel like she could come to him for anything she needed. With this feeling being so new to him, he wasn't sure how well he was going to do with his attempt at doing better, but he was going to try.
"Do you forgive me?" Levi asks, breaking the silence, responding with a lighter and kinder voice. She looks up at him, seeing that he has a soft smile on his face as he rubs the back of her head. She sighs, eventually hugs him back, burying her face in his chest.
"You're going to have to try harder than that, Levi Ackerman." She responds as she smiles under her nose and continues to hide her face in his chest. He smiles too, chuckling a bit, moving her head up to look at him as he holds her face in his hands. Attempting to lean in for another kiss, hoping she won't pull away again. His lips softly touched hers, her lips were so soft, Levi wishes that he can stay in this moment forever.
After a few moments, he lifts her off her feet. Carrying her as she wrapped her legs around his waist, arms around his neck. He grabs her ass as he makes out with her some more, holding her as tightly as he could, almost as if she would disappear if he let her go. He softly sets her down on their shared bed, crawling on top of her and caging her between his arms. She felt the heat between her legs get wetter, as she craved his touch more and more each second. He kissed her more, lightly slipping some tongue in as she grabbed his hair in desperation. Before this, he would have sex with her without her being 100% sure about any of it, but this time, she believed, was the first time ever that she was sure. She wanted him, and she wanted him now.
He lets go of the kiss as he peppers her neck and chest with kisses, moaning as he kisses her. He just couldn't ever get enough of her, ever. He was happy that she wanted him as much as he did at this moment.
I'll make it up to you. He thought to himself. I won't ever let anything happen to you. I'll be there for you, I promise. I love you.
He eventually moved his hands down to her legs, softly pushing her long silk dress up to her thighs, continuing to kiss all over her neck and above her breasts. She pushes away from him and looks up, which catches his attention as he stops.
"Do you not want to?" He asks, kissing her lips and all over her face with love and care. "We can stop if you want."
Asuna didn't have words at first. She never thought she would ever hear those words come out of his mouth. She thought it would always just be him doing what he wanted with her with her either consenting to it or not. Maybe he really was trying. She believed him when he mentioned that he just couldn't stand it when she was upset with him. She just hoped that he can stick to what he told her and not shut her out any longer. Hopefully.
She smiled, moving her hand up to caress his beautiful face. She moves up to kiss him on the lips again, pulling him back down again as he rests his forehead on hers. Guiding his hands back to her hips and moving her dress up some more, exposing her panties. She smiles softly at her as he waits for her to answer.
"No. I want to. I want you, Levi."
He didn't need another confirmation from her. With that, she smashes his lips on hers once again, gently pushing her dress up and undoing the corset from behind. Pushing her dress up above her head and throwing it to the side, quickly pulling her panties off and admiring her beautiful, naked body which was lying beneath him. He grabs her breasts, squeezing them and pinching her hardened nipples, causing her to cry out in pleasure. Kissing her all over her body as he kissed both her breasts and trailed down to her stomach. Rubbing and feeling all over her body, moving lower and lower down to her heat. She moans at his kisses, pulling his hair and looking down as he continues to kiss lower.
"You're so fucking beautiful." He says between kisses. "I'm never letting you go, baby... I can't wait to marry you."
His words make her blush so hard, as well as make her more wet with every second he kissed her. He nibbles at the sensitive area around her inner thighs, leaving hickeys everywhere, but nowhere where anyone can see them considering she's getting married for the whole kingdom to see in a few days. He wastes no time in shoving his middle and index and inside her, moaning himself at how unbelievably wet she was.
"Ohhh, fuck...." She whispers between moans. "Levi... ahhhh.."
He pumps his finger into her faster before moving his lips down to kiss her clit softly, teasing her a bit. His finger curled inside her, hitting that spot inside her that he knew would drive her mad. He takes his finger out of her, which made her groan in annoyance as she wanted him to keep doing it. Instead, he moves both of his hands to her cunt, spreading her pussy lips with his thumbs to give him better access to her clit. He moved in and flicked her clit with his tongue over and over, knowing exactly where to kiss and suck to make her squirm. She screams out, feeling her orgasm reaching quickly but not wanting it to end on how good her Levi was making her feel.
"Levi.. ah! I'm..." She moaned out. Her moans and pleas only make him go faster, sucking on her clit by licking and tasting her sweetness. It doesn't take long for her to start cumming on his face, squirming as he continued, keeping her legs open with his strength as he overstimulated her sensitive clit.
"Thats my good girl." He smiles as he continues to kiss her down there. "That's it... You're so good. Fuck."
He was so hungry for her, and he wasn't even close to being done with her tonight.
"Oh my god... Levi." She says, pulling at his hair some more while he leaves kisses around her thighs and admiring her pretty, wet pussy, which was all his, forever.
He moves back up to her, interlocking one of his hands with hers as he gave her what she felt like endless kisses all over her body.
"You ready for me?" He asks, taking off his pants, positioning his hard cock at her entrance, waiting for her consent.
"Yes." She responds, clearly out of breath at the continuing pleasure he just gave her. "Fuck me, Levi. Please. I want you."
He smiles at her, a smile she hasn't seen on him before. A smile of love, of desire, of care. So genuine. He kisses her again before easing himself inside of her slowly.
Please, Levi. Please. Don't shut me out anymore.

Three days later. The day Asuna had been nervous for had finally arrived. Today, she would officially become Levi's wife, and be crowned the Queen of the Walls. Her stomach couldn't stop fluttering in nervousness, she doesn't think she has ever been so scared in her life, for anything. Since her and Levi had that talk a few nights before, he has been nothing but sweet and caring for her. She feels like they have been growing closer, and she finally felt safe and relaxed with him by her side every night. That didn't mean things were perfect though. Levi would still leave every morning and be gone most of the day, coming back at night to comfort her. She would have to reach out herself to ask him about things he had been doing that day, which he would tell her though with very little specifics. It was a work in progress, a work in progress that was going to be harder than she thought.
Dana and the other hand maidens wake Asuna up before the sun had come out. It had to be at least 4 or 5 am, the nerves that she felt that entire night had caused her to only get a mere 2 hours of sleep, maybe less. Levi was already gone, preparing for the wedding on his own terms, so to speak. Asuna showered, with more maids around her that she had wanted, invading her personal space, though at the same time, she had no idea what she was doing. Casually ready to be the bride to the King at a royal wedding with thousands of people seeing her is not something that she had ever done before, nor ever thought she would do.
Luckily, Dana had brought her a cup of caffeinated tea to help her stay awake, which wouldn't matter as her nerves would be keeping her awake all day. She drank it as the hand maidens brought in her elegant wedding dress. It looked like no other dress she had seen before. It was made of silk, shining in the light. The dress had clearly been worked on for weeks, it was so flowery, with sleeves that hung on her shoulders and made her waist feel snug and tight. It was luxurious. The only thing she didn't like about it was that it took almost an hour for her hand maids to put it on her because of how complex the dress was.
Dana had done her hair up so nicely that let half of her hair flow free, her gorgeous curls running down her shoulders as the other half was up in a beautiful braided updo. Lastly, they had put a small veil on top of her head that was surprisingly comfortable. Before long, she was all set, ready to set food outside the castle to get married to Levi once and for all. She took a deep breath, closing her eyes and trying to gather herself and her thoughts all at once, she hoped she didn't pass out from all of the nervousness that lingered inside her mind.
Dana walks up to her, Asuna being taller than her now because of her elegant white heels. She smiles, complimenting how beautiful her Queen looked and how lucky she was to be the personal hand maiden to such a sweet, gorgeous young woman. Taking her hand in hers, she smiles at her in hopes that it will calm her nerves a bit.
"Are you ready, my Queen?" Dana asks, squeezing her hand tighter. The reassurance that Dana gave her made her more confident for the day. More confident that her marriage will get easier. More confident that Levi can be the husband she wants him to be.
"Yeah," She smiles back at her, preparing to leave for the biggest day of her life. Dana's question also reminded her of the other night when Levi asked if she was ready for him. Though that question was under a different situation, she remembered it and thought of it in a different perspective other than just that lovely moment. She laughed to herself, believing she was over thinking it but who cared? She knew what she felt, and she was going to face it.
"I'm ready."
[AN: HELP!!! :0 I was going to make this chapter longer than it was because I wanted to include the wedding preparations as well as the coronation all in one chapter but when I finished this I thought this ending was a good stopping point. Next chapter, yes. Stay tuned. This part of the story is a hard one to write because it's so specific in my head. Plsss dm or ask me with suggestions, I would love the feedback :) Wattpad is @ katstack if you are interested in reading it there! ]
