Like hello, look at this, I found it last week at walmart for 25 dollars, I just looked down and it was there, waiting for me, I’m-

Okay so quick story here: when I was 13 Battlestar was available on netflix and my mom- who had been a fan of it since it came out in 1978- asked if I wanted to watch it and I was like sure, why not. I’d already seen Star Wars at this point but this was the first sci fi show that I truly connected with and loved. I was obsessed with this show for years. And the funniest thing is that my mom originally watched it when she was 13, the same age I was when she showed it to me! And she also loved it and was obsessed with it then! I just think that’s really neat.

Also I haven’t watched it since I was a teenager and I am so HYPED. I remember bits and pieces of episodes and plotlines and I’m so excited to get to experience them again.

i started watching battlestar galactica. and holy fucking shit the pilot is incredible. i cant wait for the rest of the show. but the pilot is genuinely fucking insane. so many rug-pulls in one episode. holy fuck.

I just want to see them happily retiring together, with him as a Battlestar Commander turned househusband, and her as the Secretary of Education, a working wife. Then, years later, a party asks her to run for presidency, and she gets elected, and they become the unstoppable power couple they are.

(Also not me, trying to write a fanfic where they first meet at the Galactica decommissioning ceremony and then fall in love. Adar regrets losing her, especially to an aging soldier he deems unworthy and socially inferior.

He even insults them, saying she's playing a matador, messing around with a Tauron bull, and trying to SA her. But she punches him in the face (because Bill taught her boxing skill), and it's all caught on camera. Suddenly, she's the talk of the town, praised for defending herself against assault and becomes the new face of #metoo.

And Tauron people all become fans of her because she chose to defend her Tauron partner and chose him over the frakking President of the Twelve Colonies himself. And baby Kyliegh Curran as Lenore Usher, may or may not be their granddaughter from Lee and Dee, who's so close to and loved by her grandparents <3

But since English isn't my first language and I'm so busy with work and adulthood, I don't even know if I could find time to continue drafting this shite. I just love Roslin x Adama in AUs without the attack soooo sooo bad.)

The sky was a brilliant blue above her, stretching on forever and ever from her perspective. She knew it ended somewhere, blending with the horizon on one side and the lake on the other, but for now, all she saw was a bright sky with just enough clouds that she didn't need to shield her eyes. Bill was a solid, grounding weight beneath her, protecting her body from the moisture that seeped through their blanket from the grass.

"Will you just tell me?" she finally murmured, her eyes leaving the sky to find similarly-colored eyes already watching her.

"No," he replied stubbornly. She huffed and considered sitting up, but he wrapped his arm tighter and the urge faded instantly. "You have somewhere you need to be?"

"You know I don't."

"Then guess."

"I don't know." She shrugged and kept her eyes on him. "Does it start with the letter A?"

"Lucky guess." He chuckled and lightly stroked her side. "Yes, it does."

Finally with a direction to steer her thoughts, she smiled. "Is it an apple?"

This time, his laughter gently shook them both. "How'd you guess?"

"I saw the basket of fruit you gathered. I just wasn't sure if you were teasing me with the berries or the apple." She pushed herself up enough to kiss him softly. "It was either that, or the A stands for Adama."

"Both can be true." He returned the kiss and groaned quietly as she rolled onto her stomach and settled back against him. "You can have your Adama apple and eat it too."

"Oh, thank the gods," she hummed as her eyes closed, the sunshine warm on her face and Bill warm around her.

the last big show i saw before battlestar galactica was stargate (sg-1, atlantis), and i gotta say, battlestar might like, stay in my head. i cant stop thinking about it. stargate is amazing, but that show is carried by the chemistry of its crew. battlestar is kinda the same, but the themes stick more strongly for me. more human, i guess. hard to put into words.

i think that the reason why battlestar works so well for me is that its just very consistent. stargate changes quite a bit, especially in the later seasons. and those are still like, not my thing. atlantis as well, but for a different reason - atlantis has great potential, but its not well utilized at all.

i dont think there is a single character in battlestar i dislike. like, genuine dislike. even caville man. ask me in three months though haha

battlestar galactica is like a wound, where a fresh scab keeps growing but you keep scratching it cuz its itchy. im stupid.

gonna do babylon 5 right now. wanted to start yesterday, but didnt check watch order sooo, i forgor it has a movie. also know literally nothing about this show except that it exists. gonna be interesting, i hope? will update after i finish the movie
