Sometimes in animated shows there isn't a tickle scene but there is a scene in which a character laughs uncontrollably for whatever reason. This is almost as good as a tickle scene.

A show that comes to mind is a Nickelodeon show called Chalkzone. Some force infects Penny and she is laughing uncontrollably and Rudy and others have to find a way to fix it.

I think I just found out what the episode was called. It was called "The Smooch" Laughing uncontrollably until they kiss (or infect) someone else.

And apparently The Baha Men are in it? How early 2000s.

Sometimes I wish you could freely look up episodes of tv shows on youtube and be able to watch it for free. I doubt I would be able to find this episode anywhere online due to music copyright issues.

it's interesting that episode 3 shows turbo granny is kind of a hypocrite? she says she hates cheaters, but immediately cheats (by human standards) in the game of tag. it's speculated that she consoled the spirits of assaulted and murdered girls, but she herself assaults okarun and calls seiko and momo "hag," "bitch," and "skank" constantly. i think it's really indicative(?) that one of the last things she says before she fuses with the bound spirit is this:

but ultimately, momo is able to outsmart her using a combination of her grandmother's - also an elder - wisdom and modern technology.

still working on how to interpret this and fit it into what dandadan is saying. the easiest/most obvious would be something like 'you don't have to respect your elders if they disrespect you,' which is a sentiment that is applicable to future arcs as well i feel, but i do think there's more to it than that.

okay so I'm reading through a few more posts about the luca situation, and while now I've calmed down and recognized that it's "unsanctioned" and also "fanart", that still doesn't tamp down my excitement! it still means a lot that even the co-director on the movie had similar queer interpretations like the rest of us, and it's still sweet!

you know, i find it interesting that bison keeps putting the blame on fadel when it comes the restrictions of not interacting with others, when fadel makes it very clear that the orders come directly from their mother. and like obviously it’s because he knows fadel is actually there to reinforce it, whereas their mother is not around as much so he can get away with more if it weren’t for fadel.

but what i can’t tell if bison realizes how much these rules ALSO effect fadel. like, yes, he says he’s actually doing this so fadel will let his hair down and all but it’s like. i don’t think he actually realizes how much it does weigh on fadel - it seems like he assumes (because fadel tells him as much) that fadel doesn’t actually care one way or another and his goal is less to help take the weight off his shoulders and more to encourage his brother to let loose a little (and also so he can fuck around with kant in peace).

bison is the younger brother so of course he doesn’t realize how much weight fadel does carry - but we see it. we see this episode how much all the repression is effecting fadel - the man can’t even jack off without being angry about it! and while i understand why bison puts the blame on fadel when it feels like he’s the one enforcing the rules, his anger and upset about it should be much more directed at their mother - she’s the one putting the pressure on both of them.
