I get that they all did it together, not just mk's family but everyone on earth, in order to spread the power between more forces to help stabilize the pillar and use the stones to mend it in order to not have the cycle repeat like Nüwa wants

but if mk truly 𝘸𝘢𝘴 the "last stone" or the "missing piece" in order to mend the pillar of heaven

then why didn't he have a bigger role in its fixing?

I don't really understand

they made a WHOLE episode (plus season 5 as a whole) about the importance of mk as the final piece to fix things to make sure things are right

and yes they found the other way™ that the snake dude (CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME FIND HIS NAME) couldn't find, and introduced khaos into the world

yet I feel that somehow the fact that mk didn't really help that much (power/magicwise) after he came out of the pillar 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘴 something.

After many, many long years… Sun Wukong, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven… has retired, actually!

Our lovable Sage is kicking around wherever he pleases (with a strange shadow following him about), leisurely traveling the world and enjoying everything that it has to offer. He stops for fans and scholars alike, signing autographs and answering questions.

The ginger-furred simian especially enjoys visiting different zoos and aquariums to admire the animals- and they seem to like him, too. Old Sun also stops by local pastry shops pretty often, looking for something sweet and made of peaches. He’s got his photo hung on at least two dozen walls by now.

He’s got a pretty good thing going now. Wukong is more than content- he’s happy.

Of course, our powerful King’s not just going to leave an entire life behind.

He’s got a new kiddo to dote on, after all!

Yeah, this man adores you. Every other week or so he’ll come zooming in on his mystic cloud, blazing into view with a shower of vaporous mist trailing behind him.

‘Sun Yeye’, as he’ll frequently call himself, comes bearing gifts and stories. He’s in a better place both mentally and socially, and he’s grown more comfortable with physical contact- somewhat. He’ll ruffle your hair and ply you with something expensive or unhealthy, then bound off to chat with his loyal monkey subjects.

And… there’s someone with him?

As ever, this little rat is mostly unrepentant and prone to lurking about in the shadows. Still training and eavesdropping and scheming, just a little less cruel about it.

He’s slowly becoming a better person, off journeying with Wukong and learning about everything he’d missed while stuck in the underworld.

But Macaque doesn’t get to have ‘cool uncle/granddad’ title that the Monkey King has been bestowed, I’m afraid. After all, where Wukong was willing to accept his wrongs and shortcomings and actively work on them, Mac just kinda… gets away with his bullshit without ever trying to making amends.

MK keeps him at a full arm’s length from you, considering the sable simian to be not only a bad influence, but a dangerous one.

But, theoretically, if Macaque were to complete a list of intentionally nearly impossible tasks:

1. Apologize to every person he’s hurt

2. Make reparations for all the destruction that he’s caused

3. Acknowledge his own shortcomings and mistakes and try to become better

Then he might consider allowing you and ‘Uncle Macaque’ to meet up. Just for an hour.

Maybe.

As always, Pigsy maintains his grumpy fervor for cooking and serving, but in a far more lowkey fashion than before. Mei helped to hook him up with topnotch streaming equipment, allowing the chef to start a personal channel where he teaches beginner’s to prep basic meals and take care of their equipment.

He’s found some degree of fame with it, spreading his culinary skills across the internet, which quickly comes to love him.

And speaking of love- Y/N. Oh, how this man cherishes you.

MK gave him a grandbaby.

Ok, so he was a little worried at first. Pigsy thought that his son had gotten someone pregnant (irrational, but he was still worried!) and now was raising the kiddo as a single father.

Once all that has been cleared up, our favorite chef settles into the “granddad” role admirably, tending to you as he did to little MK.

He comes over every Friday to make a family meal for the three of you, and Tang always tags along- usually with a book that he thought you might like.

Although MK’s relationship with Mei has grown notably… strained, the two still keep in touch. She’s grown to be a massive streamer, and frequently competes in city-wide races as something of a celebrity. A decent chunk of her hard-earned cash goes to local charities or is spent sponsoring young racers that she sees worth in.

Mei is super dedicated to seeing the city grow healthier and happier, opting to visit and buy from only local stores and restaurants. She gives very fair reviews and often causes surges of growth for whatever business she stops in to check out.

She still finds time to game with MK on occasion, trying to bridge the gap that’s grown between the two in recent times. It’s not a phenomenal success, but they have fun and part on decent terms.

For what it’s worth, they’d both still go crazy if the other was injured.

Also, Auntie Mei??? Bringing you fun games and snacks and getting you a custom motorcycle helmet for the rides she takes you on (away from the crowded city streets, of course) and telling you embarrassing stories about MK.

(Also also, Goldendragon?? Moving apart from being friends and then reconciling into being lovers? Or even Chimera? In that final case Y/N is absolutely screwed.)

Mr. Tang, as always, remains a dedicated scholar and mooch. He’s still spending every day by Pigsy’s side and sampling his food, but now he’s got an audience eagerly watching his every bite. The internet loves this man, both for his honest enthusiasm for food and for his interesting historical lectures.

Tang switching from calmly explaining the history of jajangmyeon to outright squealing about how damn good the dish is the moment he takes the first bite.

Him and Pigsy have moved in together at this point, sharing the streaming equipment for both cooking videos and history lessons. They absolutely share the same channel.

(I cannot think of a name for what that channel would be called. Delicious History? Culinary Chronicles? Past and Produce? Freenoodles?)

I think that Tang would read to you as he did MK, sharing stories both old and new to keep you updated on the dangers you might face.

So much bonding over food. With MK’s permission, he takes you out to different stalls and shops to broaden your horizons. It also helps to build your social skills and the sense of community you feel with the locals.

Also, those Golden Cicada powers? He busts them out whenever you’re in danger, wrapping you in a sphere of glittering light. Actually pretty good at keeping you safe, all things considered.

The pacifistic view that Sandy has inherited is explored a bit more in this AU, with MK coming to view it as selfish, if not outright stupid.

If an enemy needs to be fought, pacifism is pointless. It’ll only get you and your friends hurt, refusing to fight when your assistance is needed the most.

If an enemy doesn’t need to be fought, every sane person becomes a pacifist temporarily to solve the issue in a non-violent way.

And in a world like Lego Monkie Kid? When fighting is frequent and necessary?

People are absolutely going to look at explicit non-combatants in a certain way.

The real value that Sandy finds in pacifism isn’t strictly for himself- he also doesn’t want to hurt anyone else or go too far in a fight, which are both reasonable. There’s nothing inherently wrong with his refraining from violence.

The main problem is that MK just doesn’t believe that Sandy would be able to protect you if you were in actual danger. Would he run away with you in his arms? Yes. Would he stuff you somewhere safe and force you to hide? Also yes. Would he take someone on, hand-to-hand for your safety?

It’s way harder to be sure. All visits are supervised just in case of a surprise attack

You, on the other hand? You adore this man. Sandy is great for the soul, giving you a chance to drop the training drills and stretches and pick up a paintbrush and put on some music. Also, kitties? Falling asleep on his couch and waking up covered in therapy cats with a cup of tea left within reach.

He’s just so good to you, and a perfect display of what healthy familial behavior actually is.

Here’s another person MK has soured his view of- Red Son. Given that he falls square into the “instead of actually becoming a better person, I gave up on being evil” category, our hero doesn’t have much fondness for the fiery demon.

Red has settled into life on the outskirts of Megapolis, working as an engineer/mechanic. If you’ve something strange/dangerous to build or fix, he’s your man. A fair price, and he doesn’t even ask questions.

His parents, who often visit, absolutely will. DBK leering down at you as you try to explain that an enemy threw a brick through the window of your tuk-tuk and if your mentor finds out he’s going to go full demon-hunter. PIF raising one eyebrow slowly as you trudge in covered in bruises, a new set of blueprints tucked under your arm.

The evil->helpful but menacing pipeline is real.

If you doesn’t know how to drive, Red’s a good bet for a teacher… if you can handle the yelling. Hit him with an ‘Uncle Red’ and he’ll loosen up a bit.

Also, taking into account his little insulting nicknames he has, like Noodle Boy?

Give that MK treats you like his own child, and may well even outright adopt you under certain circumstances-

You are absolutely getting called ‘Noodle Baby’.

(I’m admittedly not a fan of Spicynoodles, but that dynamic would be somewhat interesting to explore here. MK giving this one villain the ‘redemption’ card, not because Red Son has earned it, but simply because… MK likes him. It would be one hell of an angle for Y/N to attack him with.)

They also became fast friends and Siblings with Godzilla Jr. Goji Jr was quick to become very protective over his younger smaller brother and Sister. But overall the 3 were loving play mates, and Silly girl had started calling you mama at the end of the visit as Luier would sit by you asking questions. Which put another painful blush on his face as he watched the whole interaction. You also Might be wondering why pigsy didn't bother to flirt with you......????

(Netflix Wukong) the dragon king Screamed like a little girl when he saw you at Lin's house. While Lin herself, she could even begin to comprehend what's going on here. Wukong had bought you and Goji Jr to meet his friends and so far Goji Jr loved Lin as he went and licked her face. Making Lin laugh at the tickles, meanwhile dragon king was down for the count as you stared down at him with a glare. Dragon king remained on his best behavior while you were there Because his life literally depended on it.

🐉 She had sent multiple demons off to the Antarctica to seek you out, and thankfully for her, they freed you with ease

🐉 Landing behind the skeletal-demon, you looked over the enemies she had been holding off more a mere few minutes and huffed, blowing a large amount of smoke out of your nose

"...Uh, Mei? Do you think you can handle this thing?" MK asked.

"I think." She answered.

🐉 You readied yourself, awaiting your Lady's call for you to charge into battle at full-strength. And, when she moved her hand, you launched forward, readying an attack at the Monkie Kids

🐉 Another sight then knocked your back and unconscious from hitting all of your heads against the nearby buildings and floors. Sun Wukong, Macaque, and another dragon then turned to your master and began fighting

🐉 You cocked an eyebrow and your head while your fellow heads did the same as you. And once you knew this human was of no harm to you at the moment, you groaned and deactivated your dragon form, being covered in a large amount of light

🐉 The large amount of yellow-glowing light made everyone around launch to where you were, and they were all surprised to see Mei talking to a human dressed in gold scale-printed armor with two dragon heads on their shoulders and another on their head like a helmet

🐉 Your cape was being twirled around in Mei's fingers as she asked you questions, some on your childhood, others on your fights and more that you could easily catch with your excellent hearing

"Mei? Who is this?!" Pigsy yelled while the others readied their weapons in anticipation for your attack.

"Oh! This is King/Queen Y/N of the Kaiju! They're really nice! And you should feel their hair! It's so gosh-darn soft!" She said, stars in her eyes as she moved from your cape back to your hair.

🐉 MK then ran up to you and began messing with your hair with his friend, and while this would've annoyed you if it were literally anyone else, you just accepted that they were young and dumb

"Well then King/Queen Y/N of the Kaiju, do you pose any threat against us?" asked Tang.

"No. I could honestly couldn't care less about harming you mortals anymore. With that Bone-Broad is gone, I have free will again." You then picked up your chopsticks and brought more noodles to your lips, blowing on them to cool them out before chewing on them and laying the utensils down in the bowl again and finishing. "You guys are completely safe from my attacks now. Also, whoever made those noodles deserves an award."

🐉 Despite the stoic expression on your face as you spoke, Mei could feel that you were smiling on the inside, you were just stubborn and needed a Nutcracker named Mei Dragon to help you open up!

🔥 As a former member of Heaven, that being a representative of the Dragon Clan, you were very close with many members. Well, that was until a revolution came and you left the hopeful land and was imprisoned within one of Antarctica's many icebergs

🔥 Over time, the Monkie Kids had been fighting against a powerful demon, one who had been terrorizing China for multiple weeks. But, when it opened another portal in an attempt of sending Sun Wukong away, a rogue fire blast from Red Son accidentally exploded in the winter wonderland

🔥 All of a sudden, the sound of a large roar made everyone, especially Sun Wukong and Ne Zha to look up in shock when a large yellow dragon crawled out from the hole and spread it's wings out wide

🔥 Next thing Red Son knew, Wukong had grabbed him and MK before picking them up and taking them away from the pathway you made when fighting against the demon

🔥 Red Son was shocked to see how you picked up his father with your tail and helped him and the others defeat the demon before sitting down, allowing Mei and the others to pet your nose

"F-Father?! Who is this beast?!" He yelled.

"This is King/Queen Y/N of the Kaijus. An extinct species of demons. They are the final one living, we both go back." Demon Bull King said.

🔥 You looked at the large demon and his offspring and nodded at them. And when you blew on the humans, making them take a few steps back, they saw how gold covered your large and scaly form before blinding them

🔥 As everyone opened their eyes once again, they saw a more humanoid figure standing there. The scales that once donned your figure now laid on your armory, two dragon heads on your shoulders with a third one on your head, a long cape behind you with a long and far more fancy than normal loincloth around your hip, and long H/C hair going down to your mid-back

"Whoa..." Red Son whispered.

"It's so great to see you again, Y/N!" Wukong said, wrapping his arms around you and he twirled you around in the air.

"Yes... it's nice to see you as well, Wukong." You said. "Now put me down before I fry your head."

🔥 Wukong let you down before introducing you to everyone, saying how you were a hatchling when the Samadhi Fire was created and how you were imprisoned by Heaven when you proved to be a threat to the Jade Emperor

"It's so good to have another dragon around! I'm Mei!" A young girl said, lifting your hand and shaking it excitedly while MK did the same just moments later.

🔥 As you met every member, you noticed the large form of Demon Bull King and walked to him before bowing lightly, showing respect to your old ally. He then nodded and poked your helmet before pointing towards his son and motioning him to come forward

"Introduce yourself." He ordered.

"I'm Red Son. The son of Demon Bull King and Princess Iron Fan. You must be... Y/N." He said, holding his hand out reluctantly for you to shake.

🔥 You held your own hand up, making him let out a small questioning noise as you chuckled before saying how he didn't need to shake your hand if he didn't want to, you didn't mind

"I-uh, okay?"

"So, Y/N. Do you mind telling me how it was being stuck in an iceberg?" The Monkey King asked.

"If you tell me what it was like being underneath a mountain." You teased.

His thoughts were interrupted by the distant sound of quick footsteps

"Monkey King!" MK called, running in as quick as he could before bending over his knees to catch his breath. Wukong caught up with him "Woah, bud! What happened?". "I wanted to pick up someone I really wanted you to meet" MK wheezed. That was when you stepped up, putting a hand on MK's back. "Take it easy, Xiaotian" You said, patting his shoulder. MK straightened up with a deep breath "Thanks, Jiějiě!" he said with a big smile. Wukong looked a little surprised. He knew MK had Pigsy and Tang to look after him, but he'd never heard of an older sister before. "Are you new to town?" He asked you, and you stood up fully to address him. "I could ask you the same thing, monkey man".

"I thought she could spar with us!" MK interrupted, practically a bouncing ball of energy now that he had his breath back. Wukong looked to you with a smirk and a raised eyebrow "Oh, is that so? It'll take more than simple Kung Fu to take me on". "Try me" You responded. Wukong looked to MK "Alright bud, new plan. You watch me and your Jiějiě spar it out and learn from our moves". "Yesyesyesyes!" MK cheered, immediately going to the outskirts of the battle area to sit cross-legged in anticipation

After a little prep time, Wukong lead you back into the part of the mountain he reserved for training. You both stood on opposite sides of the flattened area, giving some warm-up stretches. "Now remember bud, fighting may be fun to watch, but you gotta focus on what's being done, okay?" Wukong called to MK. "Kay, got it, learn with your eyes, all that good stuff" MK said dismissively as he leaned back on his hands to watch. Wukong gave a small sigh and you gave a little chuckle. Wukong turned to you, spinning a wooden pole in his hands. The staff would've been way too dangerous to use against a mortal, so this would have to do. "You ready?" You called out to Wukong "I should be the one asking you that" Wukong replied as you both lowered into a fighting stance. "Alright... and... go!"

MK watched with wide and excited eyes as you two clashed. Wukong absolutely had you beat in speed, but the block you threw up to counter the wooden staff he was using was impressively well thought. He smirked as he pulled back, failing to sweep your feet when you dodged and tried to throw a punch in his direction. He ducked out of the way, chuckling as he gave you a light swat to your shoulder as he zipped past. You turned back, charging at him in return. Wukong countered your incoming kick with his knee, taking the opportunity to fling some hits your way. You blocked each and every one with a hit of your own. You finally managed to land a punch on the leather armor over his chest. It did absolutely nothing to hurt the King, but he was impressed by how quick-witted you are.

He grabbed your wrist, using it to fling you away from him. You caught your balance, but not before he knocked you in the side with the wooden staff. He gave a yawn as he hopped around every hit you tried to throw back at him. He was flexible as well as fast, making the fight easy on his side. He grabbed a kick you tried to throw and tossed your leg away, leading to you losing balance and falling to the ground. "And there we have it," Wukong chuckled, stepping up to you and extending a hand "Good effort, though. Not many people can keep up with me for as long as you have first try"

You accepted his hand, tugging him down. The action successfully made him trip, and you chuckled as you stood "you're not so bad yourself, for an old Sage anyways". Wukong couldn't help but smirk as MK bounded up to you. "That was amazing!! When Monkey King went like woosh! And you went like bam! Awh, it was so hard picking who to cheer for!" He said, practically bouncing in place as he had two mini flags with your faces on them. "Did you learn anything though, bud?" Wukong asked as he stood back up. "Uhh.. move fast and block hits with more hits!" MK responded. You chuckled as you ruffled his hair. "Close, we'll have to teach you more of the techniques though".

MK hopped off to begin swishing his staff around, trying to mimic how Wukong had done it with the wood. Wukong stood next to you as you both watched him. "I was being serious. You really are impressive" Wukong said to you with a smile "Though you could do with a few more lessons. Maybe if MK keeps bringing you around, I can help you with that". You chuckled as you looked back at him "Try not to miss me too much, King. I'll be around wherever he is" you said as you gestured to MK, before shouting to him "No, don't wave it like that! You're gonna hurt yourself!" as you ran over to help him.

Wukong felt warm watching the two of you. You really had made a good first impression on the Great Sage, and his tail flicked excitedly at the thought of getting the chance to spar with you like that again. You weren't anywhere close to besting him due to his thousands of years of experience over you, but he thought back to the fight, analyzing your moves. As he walked over to you and MK, he couldn't help but be in a good mood for the rest of the afternoon.

How the TRAFFIC LIGHT TRIO realize that they have feelings for you

RED SON (260 words)

Red Son is familiar with seeing love from a third-person's perspective. He's seen how his parents deeply love one another, so he has a general idea of what happens when one falls on love.

... Or so he thought. When Red Son develops feelings for you, he will mistake it for hatred. He will act more stand-offish and aloof with you, and in turn, you act defensive around him.

But he'll accidentally spill his unrecognized feelings to one of the other members.

"That annoying brat (Y/N) gets on my nerves." He huffs, crossing his arms. "Even the sight of them makes my heart race. I despise them so much."

Mei, who watches romcoms and is familiar with the emotional language Red Son speaks, quickly snapped her head towards him, eyes wide and jaw agape before it turned into a mischievous and teasing smile. "Ooh~! Somebody's got a crush~!"

Red Son sputters, blinking in surprise with his eyes furrowed. "What an absurd notion!-"

Later after that, he researches the symptoms of love in order to deny it - but instead, an epiphany comes to him the longer he researched the symptoms.

Red Son's stubborn, but he's not delusional to deny the evidence that was presented right in front of his eyes.

He'll still be the same, fiery-tempered Red Son, but towards you, he's a bit softer.

His stares will linger, and the tips of his hair will sizzle and produce smoke (and in rare cases, catches fire).

The rest of the Traffic Light Trio will complain about his obvious favortism towards you.

MEI (270 words)

Similar to Red Son, Mei is familiar with seeing love from a third-person's perspective, but also terrible at realizing her own feelings.

At first, she'll mistake her romantic feelings for admiration. She'll turn clingy, will invite you to hangout with her and MK (she'd actually prefer it if he didn't, only sometimes!) frequently, and will show you off on her streams and social media (with consent, of course!)

Realization happens one day while she's at her home, texting you until you send a message with the combination of a smiley-face and a heart emoji.

Immediately, she lies down on her stomach, a pillow below her chin as she giggles and kicks her feet.

When she's done doing that, she immediately widens her eyes in surprise as she gasps, her hands feeling the heat in her cheeks as realization settled.

"Oh gosh, I'm in love with them..!"

It takes her more than 10 minutes to even reply back.

From that point on, she'll become even more clingy, and will increase the amount of trackers and hidden cameras on you. (She canonically does this in the show.)

She's a competitive person, and she can't stand losing you to someone else, so she'll confess as soon as she gets the signal that you like her too.

If she hasn't received any signals yet, she'll be bit territorial over you.

"Haha! Yeah!" She chuckled, wrapping an arm around your neck as she puts her cheek against yours. "This is (Y/N)! We're extremely close, so we're like, more than besties!"

"Oh, so like, best-best friends?" MK inquired.

Mei's eye only twitched back in reply.

MK (264 words)

I doubt MK even knows what he is feeling most of the time, let alone romantic feelings, so it'll take him a really, really long time to realize that he loves you.

He'll mistake his feelings for you for friendship and deep admiration. Even when his heart beats faster around you, or his stares linger a bit too long on you, or the fact that even the simplest of things, such as your smile... or your presence in general, will brighten up his whole day.

He gets so confused that he'll either ask Pigsy or Tang (maybe even both) about the things he's feeling.

"Why does my heart beat so fast when I'm around (Y/N)?" MK tilted his head in confusion. "And why do they often appear on my mind? And why are they so amazing?"

Meanwhile (Pigsy/Tang) will just feel three things at once; exasperation, disbelief, and amusement, because how is MK so dense to the point that he's literally describing the symptoms of being lovestruck to them?

"MK, buddy, you're in love."

"Oh!" MK blinked, before averting his gaze as he scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment with a nervous smile. "... Oh. Haha... I guess I am!"

... He didn't even deny it.

After that, he'll become more touchy, will show-off his abilities to you more frequently along with receiving neat, little gifts here and there (he's been saving up for those!).

All of his friends know about it. Not just the rest of the Traffic Light Trio, but the whole Monkie Gang.

And they're all rooting for him.

“i never thought that THE monkey king would be that weird.” you randomly say, still thinking about the awkward encounter. “he usually isn’t, I don’t know why he’s acting like that” he looks almost scared like he was worried about the guy. “I didn’t even think he would show up, to be honest, when you told me you were the monkey kid I thought you were just joking,” the conversation turns back to the happy one it once was. you guys continue talking about stupid stuff until you want to leave, you wish goodbye to your new friends and start to walk back home.

you can almost feel eyes on you on every step of the way, feeling observed and uncomfortable. you quicken the pace, you feel exposed even with having so many clothes on. you get back to your house safely, making sure to lock the doors. your head immediately hits the pillow, feeling tired, but your mind is happy after an successful day. “you look so adorable when your sleeping.” you immediately jump up looking around to see whoever just talked to you. the hair on your skin feels as if it’s rising and the paranoid feeling comes back again.

almost got a 2 for one, I hc tang to be the kind of person that doesn't really stutter or close off when he gets flustered he just starts laughing. It'll start out as soft chuckles and giggling but it just grows deeper and louder the more flustered he gets. Pigsy, being completely enamored with his man, tends to fall into a laughing fit with him and then they just become a flustered happy giggling heep in each other's arms. Wukong: You... are on so much trouble. It's totally grounded for like... 100 years type stuff there.

MK: Aw man!

Wukong does not actually ground MK for 100 years, but he is not allowed to go to the city for the next 2 weeks unless it's to work and back. Mei offers to take over "Monkey Kid Duty" for the duration, and Wukong never outright banned MK from having his friends over, quite the opposite, in fact! He's working with Pigsy to make sure it doesn't conflict with his schedule when setting up training sessions

Yeah MK is so grounded for lying to his mom about his true reason for going to the mainland + becoming a sueprhero in the process.

I love Wukong's gut reaction is "100 years grounded!" because its such a him thing to do.

Wukong: "I'm serious MK! I've been grounded for 500 years before! Don't think you can't be too!" MK: "Isn't that how you ended up with me??" Wukong: "Ugh true. Two weeks of no video games or arcade then." MK: "Aww man!"

I love the thought of Mei being on board to "chaperone" MK for the two weeks he's grounded so he doesn't wander off into an arcade or end up in a kaiju battle. Mei constantly updates Wukong via their phones about what MK is doing/when he signs off work. She acts like it's a super-secret spy mission.

Pigsy is little shaken by the news that his fave employee is a monkey demigod, but then again he was quick to encourage/guide MK when he became a hero so this is only an extra dose of weirdness for him. He also argues for MK's merit as an employee, lazy or not, he's the best one Pigsy's ever had. Wukong is actually delighted to learn that MK was legitimately working during his time in the city, and agrees that he can continue working at the restaurant as long as it doesn't get in the way of training or world-ending catatrophes.

Ironically, this means that the event of "Sweet N Sour Pork" occurs mid-grounding, and Wukong decides to legitimately show up to the Food Wars (despite his extreme stage fright) to make sure MK is ok. Also due to the Gold and Silver Twins basically being MK's cousins (the Vixen had long ago considered Macaque one of her cubs), their motivations for the Food Wars is a lot different. They want MK to stop focusing on Pigsy's so that he can continue searching for Macaque and not have to worry about "mortal stuff". It ofc fails but the sentiment is noted.

Wukong is also opened the island to MK's friends and work mates so he can get to know them finally. He's been keeping a bit of a distance because of their connection to the PIlgrims, but now that his cub is working for and trusts them so much well...

The older twins, Rumble and Savage, def follow MK to the city a few times mostly to bother him at work and to observe whats so cool about the mortal city. They quickly discover cheese teas, arcades, McDonalds playplaces, and lazer tag, so they fall in love with city life as well. <3

ORCZY'S FAN FICTION RECOMMENDATIONS

For following Fandoms: Varian and the 7 kingdoms, Lego monkie kid, JRWI riptide

Hi there! I tought I would share some of my favourite fanfictions I've read since April last year, as sort of a recap and also recommendations. These are all longer stories btw, ranging from 78K to  236K words. Hope you find something that piques your interest :D

-Varian's Tangled Trials by IFoundYouJustineTime and TheArtistsMuse A complete Vat7k story adapting the original creators' plot points into an amazing, 24 chapters (episodes) long fic that reads like an actual cartoon. If you're new to Vat7k or Tangled The Series, or even if you haven't seen the latter (like me), you WILL enjoy this. If you like a fun adventure with a bunch of nerds as a found family, this is for you.

-What Summer Meant to You -If I Really Hated you (and I really, really do) both by Battybatzgirl First one's a battle of the bands/modern AU, second is an AU where the boys are rival engineers, both focusing on the ship Varigo. The writing style is what made me stay and read these to the end. Incredibly funny and entertaining to read, the way Varian and Hugo are characterised is just. So good. If you like a well written, lighthearted, romantic comedy, this is for you. (Both include some skippable adult scenes, but the story is much more about the romance)

-Making End's Meet by Meltthepoint As the author's name suggest, this is a melting point (Donella x Ulla) story, set in a modern setting. Donella enrolls Hugo into this new school, who then befriends Varian. Ulla and Donella meet again. This is about how two women make up and start anew after their lives went into directions they didn't want. The story is much more character focused, a really fun read. Very insightful about the women's characters. An exception, as I still haven't finished reading it. Definitely not the type of fic I can binge read, but I'm really enjoying it.

At the end of everything by Squirrelflight A Night in the woods AU (haven't played the game, you don't have to, to read it), and unfinished as of yet, but man. Worth checking out! Unlike the stories above, this one's definitely darker and has a really tense aura. Love it. The writing is so good it makes me so thrilled about what will happen next! I also really like, once again, the characterisation.

Great writing style, entertaining plot, what more could I ask for? (maybe an update lol) As of yet, unfinished, and hasn't been updated since late 2022. The author actually posted ( https://www.tumblr.com/its-kall-the-clown/735524530668371968/are-you-going-to-be-updating-any-fics-on-your-ao3 ) about wanting to rewrite the story sometime. Which is great! In case you're reading this, take as long as you want!

-A garden across our collarbone by PittedPeaches Spicynoodle soulmate AU where what you write, or in MK's case, draw on your skin, appears on the soulmate's skin as well. Red Son's journey of (very slowly, this is a slowburn) falling in love with MK. A lot of inner monologues, the story plays out more like a retelling of what happened from Red Son's perspective. Kind of like a diary entry and I LOVE IT. I actually didn't understand the pairing before reading this, nor was I that invested in Red Son's character. This fic changed everything. (it also sends you good luck if you read it on the train! I acquired: friends!)

RIPTIDE

-BREAKING FREE! by earlgray_milktea A fish 'n chips Highschool Musical AU (another thing I haven't seen, you don't need to, to read this). The writing is so undoubtedly Disney, it is at times so over the top dramatic, you can't help but smile at half the interactions. The charm is big on this one. The characters are exagerated but somehow not (completely) out of character. Basically if Riptide was on Disney, this is exactly how they'd act. Also it's just really, really cute.

-Depths of Natarus by goldpines Chip Mermaid AU set in an Undersa/Oversea war, focusing on Fish n Chips as well as Jay Ferin (my girl!). Two reasons why you should read this right now. First: the descriptions are SO detailed and immersive! It made me also kinda have a crush on Gillion Tidestrider. How. Second: it made me care about Jay. And the way she's written here is just so so great. You can tell the author knows what they're doing, the feels just keep coming, I alost teared up multiple times. This story makes you feel a lot of emotions at once, an overall amazing reading experience.

And these were my favs since last April. Specifically the ones that made me go absolutely insane. In a good way. Again, if you have any good recommendations (preferably longer stories, but shorter ones are also fine), please feel free to share them.

Stuffie Reactions Two:

Tang, Macaque, Red Son

(Part One: Sun Wukong, MK, Azure Lion)

(Ok, all yandere stuff aside? This man has plushies. No way he doesn’t have a finished Journey to The West set. I refuse to believe otherwise.)

As with most of your quirks or interests, Mr. Tang maintains a consistently supportive attitude. He’s not always the best role-model, what with being both somewhat lazy and a little bit of a mooch… but he’s got a good heart.

Even with a plague of obsession to cloud his mind and heart, Tang is still rather rational. He understands the sentimental value your plush has to you, and also knows very well that he’d massively be on your bad side for interfering with it. So there’s no threats of destruction, no forced removal-

Unless you’ve done something that seriously “warrants” one of his very rare punishments. Things like: putting yourself in serious danger, underage drinking, any type of drug use, starting fights, etc.

(He shares most of these rules with Pigsy, though the demon is quite a bit more strict.)

He’s more of a “lock it away in a cupboard for a few days” guy than anything, and gives it back after he’s worn you down into writing a full-length essay about what you did wrong how you’ll do better next time.

Could be worse, frankly.

Alright, let’s get this out of the way- Macaque is a pretty awful person. He’s often cruel for the sake of being cruel. He enjoys hurting people and brags about doing it. We also see that he’s not exactly sentimental about the past- not like Wukong is, not how MK misses the simplicity of his early adventures. I can’t imagine he’d care much about one little toy, especially if it’s particularly worn out or well-loved.

Our Six-Eared Simian is pretty high on the list of character who would outright destroy your plush. (Alongside Demon Bull King, Red Son, Huntsman, Spider Queen, and Lady Bone Demon.)

But usually; aside from mild teasing, he pays it no mind. He’s on the move with you frequently, and at least ensures that the little thing never gets left behind. Hell, when he’s (very, very rarely) feeling soft? Macaque might come around while you’re asleep and tuck the plush into your arms.

So, what could prompt him to destroy your toy? Here’s a few- running away, calling him out for his crimes, helping Wukong or MK, trying to fight him, repeated refusal to obey his orders, frequently “hard” swearing at him, substance use, etc.

(Interestingly, he won’t tear it all at once- swearing at him causes him to puncture a small hole in the fabric, running away causes him to tear off a limb… after, why throw away a useful tool of punishment when he can stretch it out for all it’s worth?)

Lots of landmines to avoid, basically.

Out of all characters, Red Son may well be the one who cares the least- he doesn’t see much value in any of your possessions, except those that he himself gifted to you.

Other characters like the Mayor or Azure might understand the plush’s importance, but choose to use it as a tool of punishment. Someone like Syntax (or Mei, but we’ll get there) would modify it to accommodate a camera. The Spider Queen would probably destroy it to sever connections to your past life- and then tsk and half-heartedly try to patch it up with her silk when she sees how distraught you are.

Some like Sandy would spoil you with plushes and stitch up any rips by hand. Iron Fan might use it to belittle you when she sees fit to lay down some “discipline”, hoping to make you feel insecure and childish.

But Red Son? He simply… doesn’t care.

It’s a possession. An item like any other. No dearer to one than a shirt or chair should be. (Unless he/his parents gave it to you. Then, and only then, will Red Son muster some genuine sympathy and understanding for how precious the object is to you.)

I’ve spoken about this several time, but I’ll say it again here- in most cases, Red Son starts off viewing Y/N as a pet. As the seasons progress they move upwards in Red’s personal hierarchy, from worthless peasant to funny pet to dear friend to cherished family.

So not only does Red not really respect your possessions- but he doesn’t really respect you, either. You’re a silly little human, meandering and small.

So, if you do ever act up, or try to escape…

He really doesn’t see in harm in torching the thing to ashes.

Nor will he understand why you’re crying.

But at least you’ve learned your lesson.
