DC robin Icarus au where Bruce is Daedalus and Jason is Icarus, who wants nothing more than to fly and see the sun up close because he has deemed it the most beautiful thing in the world. And the Gods knew that Jason would do this, put him in that tower with Bruce knowing that Jason's blind faith and ambition would have him plummet to his death. HIHIHI OK IM SO HAPPY I CAN EXPLAIN THIS TO SOMEONE!!!! apologizes if i get anything “wrong”, a lot of this is fan interpretation so it may vary from person to person but the general consensus is this:

each winner from the life series so far has matched up narratively with a celestial body. this is more of a fan thing and less of an official lore thing, so its fanon. but because of this, bear in mind that these are not all 100% agreed upon! i’m just gonna go over the ones i personally really like, but it’s all up to what you want since it’s fanon!

grian is the sun because in old irish, the name grian means sun. also, sun is related to the desert, and that’s fitting for obvious reasons. and also the sun is related to the myth of icarus which matches with grian, who tends to kill/betray his close alliances. ALSOOO all the planets revolve around the sun, much like how grian is the creator of this whole series and is at the center.

scott is the stars because in his origin smp series, he was a starborn and also his life series skin has little particles that are very star-vibey. stars also symbolize good fortune and hope, like how scott tries to be non-violent and such.

pearl is the moon most obviously because it’s in her name (pearlescentmoon) but also in my interpretation, she was all alone in double life and her soulmate wanted nothing to do with her, much like how the moon is lonely and just orbits a planet.

martyn is mars!!! this is one of my favs, so basically the name martyn means dedicated to mars which means many things. for one, mars is the roman god of war which relates to how aggressive he is, and also i saw someone say that mars is the red planet = red king, and martyn is dedicated to the red king (ren).

scar is the earth because he had a motif of sunflowers in secret life, which is connected to nature obviously. additionally, scar tried his best to be down to earth and kind in secret life but was forced to turn evil, which is like how the earth was a good planet until people polluted it.

cleo is pluto because real life wasn’t really considered an actual season of the life series, so a lot of people don’t consider her a real winner, like how pluto isn’t considered a real planet.

as for joel, people can’t really figure out what he’s supposed to be. some people say he’s saturn or uranus for very valid reasons, but personally i think jupiter matches with him because of he has a big ego/temper like how jupiter is big and has huge storms, AND jupiter symbolizes growth like how joel grew from always getting out early to being the last green, yellow and red standing. also, joel was basically like zeus in empires s2, and jupiter is the roman version of zeus.

some additional things i want to say really quick; i also really like scar being mercury because mercury is the god of trickery and commerce which is perfect for scar, and martyn also fits well as a comet because comets wander around the solar system like how martyn is never really loyal to his teammates.

seriously I loved it so much, one of my fav MCU movies..... Why??

BECAUSE I LOVE COMPLEX MOVIES WITH LOTS AND LOTS OF CHARACTERS....

anyway I absolutely loved the way these characters were named but I didn't recognize where most of there names came from so here's my short list of the history of the eternals names. (feel free to correct me or add on to any of these some of these myths I'm reading for the first time/ I got most this info from Wikipedia)

Thena - (Athena) The Greek goddess of war and wisdom. She is strong, stern and craves justice. She is also also associated with peace and her craftiness . Known for her compassion, strategic warfare, and protecting people.

Ikaris - (Icarus) From Greek mythology. Icarus and his father Daedalus, an engineer, where imprisoned in a tower in the middle of the ocean. Daedalus crafted wings made of wax and feathers for them to escape. Icarus's father warned him not to fly too close to the sun or sea. Icarus became over-confident and flew to the sun. The wax in his wings melted, he fell, and died.

Ajax - (Ajax) Greek Mythology. Known for being a courageous warrior , most known for appearance in the Iliad. Discribed as fearless, intelligent, powerful, and a defensive warrior (rarely taking the offense).

Sersi - (Circe) Greek goddess. An enchantress known for turning those who bothered her into animals. Known for her vast knowledge of herbs and potions. She lives isolated on the island of Aeaea

Phastos - (Hephaestus) The Greek God of fire. A blacksmith/craftsman known for creating weapons for gods and heros. most known for making Hermes winged sanders and Achilles armor.

Kingo - (kingu) Babylonian god. was going to be crowned king of the gods but was murdered by Marduk. His name means unskilled laborer.

Gilgamesh - Mesopotamian Demi-god of superhuman Strength. Is most known for searching for immortality in the poem Epic of Gilgamesh. He fails to gain immortality but through his quest he overcomes his fear of death and finds his meaning for life.

Makkari - (Mercury) Roman god of communication, interpreters travelers, finances, and luck. A messenger for the other gods with superhuman speed. Is also known for trickery, cheating and stealing. Helps mortals on their journey to the underworld.

Druig - (Druid) Prists that communicate with gods on behalf of the Celtic people. They are also known to have the gift of prophesy and other mystical abilities.

Sprite- known throughout many mythology by different names. The term sprite comes from European folklore. Fairy like creatures known for being lively and animated. Some legends describe them as peaceful and kind while in others they are aggressive and tricksters.
