summary: You’re charmingly spoiled. You’re too kind for your own good. You’re the princess of Figure 8 …and you’re way out of JJ Maybank’s league, but when he realizes that Rafe Cameron’s pride and joy is actually a bruised and battered damsel, he’s determined to save you.
Your rescue just comes with a price.
⭑
“Am I a joke to you? Huh?”
Despite how unserious Rafe’s words were, his attitude and tone were anything but. The past few months had been…okay—as okay as they could be considering the circumstances, you supposed—and while the look on Rafe’s face was far from unfamiliar, it was also a look you hadn’t seen in a while. Most notably the night of his birthday.
The memory of his hand around your throat was fresh, his voice in your ear as he threatened to kill you if you ever tried to leave him again. The violent memory immediately had you on edge, and you absentmindedly touched your neck, worriedly eyeing Rafe just as he strode over to you.
“You think I didn’t see that bullshit at The Wreck?”
His hand was digging into your arm, and you flinched at the painful grip, eyeing him in a mixture of confusion and fear. Rafe’s blue eyes were cold as he stared you down, a sneer on his lips as he leaned in.
“All it takes is a smile and you’re batting those lashes-.”
“...what are you talking about?” you finally spoke, noticing too late that you were knee deep in another fight without even realizing it.
“I’m talking about JJ, that’s what the fuck I’m talking about,” Rafr spat at you, fingers pressing into your skin even harder.
It took you too long to realize just who he was talking about, and when you did, your lips parted in disbelief. You thought to yourself that Rafe couldn’t be serious, there was just no way, but as you looked between his eyes, you slowly—and fearfully—realized that he was indeed very serious.
The food that you'd brought back from The Wreck was sitting on the counter, and you recalled the blond teenager who’d given it to you with a friendly smile, and you recalled that you’d smiled back. Not only was it just the polite thing to do, but it was second nature to you—harmless. Yet, here Rafe was treating it like the highest form of infidelity there was.
“Rafe…be serious.”
You were so in disbelief that you didn’t quite register the danger of the words you were whispering. You were that much in shock—that thrown—that Rafe was starting something over something as simple and harmless as a smile to the guy behind the counter. Your response only made him angrier, and you swore you felt your bones straining under his hold.
“Do I seem anything but serious, right now?”
You couldn’t hold in your pained gasp as your knees buckled, your free hand reaching up to try and make him let go.
“Do you even consider me and my feelings when you pull this shit? Huh?”
His nose brushed against your cheek as you fought to stand, pulling at his hand with tears in your eyes.
“If it’s not you ‘falling’ into Topper’s lap then it’s you trying to break up with me—and on my birthday, no less! Now you just expect me to stand by and watch you make googly eyes at any guy who looks your way? You be serious,” he bit out, shoving you so hard that your back hit the nearest wall.
Your arm was throbbing, now, the blood rushing back to where Rafe’s hand had just been. Your heart was going crazy in your chest, and when you looked up, you did so just in time to see the expensive vase coming your way. The scream that escaped your lips hurt your throat, and you slid to the floor just as the sound of breaking glass reached your ears. The shards went everywhere, and you briefly noted the faint sting on your feet.
You felt paralyzed as you looked up at Rafe.
“Is this…is this another attempt to leave me? Hmm?” he wondered, fingers grazing his chest as he frowned at you. “You think if you piss me off enough, I’ll just wash my hands of you? Is that it?”
You couldn’t stop shaking, and your voice caught in your throat, your brain unable to comprehend how you wound up in this position. Your silence seemed to only make him angrier, and when he took a step towards you, you were finally able to spring to your feet, completely unsure of what he was about to do next.
“Huh? Is that what you’re trying to pull?”
You frantically shook your head.
“N-no. Rafe, no, I don’t-”
“No?” he asked, almost incredulously.
A bitter chuckle left his lips, and Rafe shook his head, blowing out a breath as he kept his eyes on you.
“You sure could’ve fooled me.”
You looked around, chest heaving as you ran different scenarios over in your mind. You went back and forth between trying to talk him down and just making a run for it. The last time Rafe had been this angry, he’d almost choked you to death while verbally promising to do just that if you ever drove him to it. Your perusal did not go unnoticed, and Rafe was suddenly moving closer.
“Wh-where do you think you’re going?” he mockingly asked, holding your gaze, now. “You think we’re done?”
“Rafe…” you pleaded, holding your hands out.
“You think I’m done with you? You think-.”
Rafe cut himself off, reaching for you and cursing when you slipped from his grasp. His hand caught onto your shirt, twisting it, and you stumbled back when he yanked you closer. His other hand circled around your throat, and anything that you were going to say or do was immediately cut short by the feel of metal against your lips.
The scream that caught in your throat was accompanied by the feel of tears kissing your eyes, and your hands immediately wrapped around your boyfriend’s wrist. Rafe’s own eyes were glazed as he stared at you, and a sob bubbled within your chest.
“This is the only way you’re ever going to leave me. Do you understand?”
You were barely listening to a word he said, tears spilling over as you stumbled back with every step he took. The gun had been an 18th birthday gift from Ward, something you’d seen once or twice since you and Rafe started dating. You hadn’t ever given it much thought. After all, you were in North Carolina, and it was the kind of place where kids learned to shoot from the age of twelve.
You hadn’t thought about it when he’d slapped you and not even when he’d threatened your life. Yet here you were…faced with the real possibility that Rafe would use it to kill you. Your tears wouldn’t stop flowing, and your gaze was terrified and pleading. You didn’t even think you were pleading to Rafe—you were just pleading for something. A knock at the door, a car in the yard, the ring of his phone. You were pleading for anything to happen to stop this because in this moment…you weren’t so sure that Rafe would stop on his own.
The blond tilted his head at you, the light glinting off of his blue gaze.
“Hmm?”
You gave a shaky nod, your nails digging into his wrist, and Rafe stared at you for what felt like a long time. His hand was on the gun and your hand was on him and neither one of you were moving. The moment he finally pulled his hand back, you were shoving your hand against his face. Your sudden fight took him by surprise, and you didn’t spare him another glance as you bolted for the stairs.
You flinched when your name echoed off of the walls, Rafe’s footsteps in time with yours. Your tearful gaze made it hard to see, and your shoulder knocked into the corner of the wall as you stumbled straight towards the bathroom. Rafe’s voice was loud and angry as he yelled for you, and you didn’t hesitate to slam the bathroom door shut behind you, locking it just moments before Rafe’s hand met the knob.
Your uneven breathing was all you could hear as you fumbled around in your pocket for your phone, and your lashes fluttered from the feel of the door hitting your back from every kick Rafe dealt to it. You felt so disconnected from yourself as you dialed 911, the severity of Rafe’s actions fully washing over you. You couldn’t stop crying as a voice greeted you from the other line, mentally telling yourself that you couldn’t do this anymore.
You had to get out.
You had to.
You couldn’t live like this, you wouldn’t survive it, and as terrifying as it would be to tell the world just who Rafe Cameron really was, the thought of enduring this forever was even scarier.
“What’ya thinking about?”
Rafe’s lips brushed against your temple as he whispered the question, and you only shook your head before turning to look up at him with a small smile.
“Nothing…”
Topper and Kelce were playing poker in the living room, Rafe long abandoning the game to snuggle beside you instead. Today was a good day, but then again, the past few weeks had been full of good days. The disastrous night that was Midsummers was weeks ago, and the morning after—when you’d been applying makeup to your discolored cheek—you had the realization that even if some small part of you had hope that you could get out of this relationship one day, you needed to survive to actually see that happen.
Sneaking around with JJ had brought just as much harm as it did good.
Sure, you were seeing someone who actually cared about you and who didn’t absolutely terrify you. You were reminded of what it was like to be touched by someone without flinching, but on the flip side…you were reminded of what it was like to be touched by someone without flinching.
Your relationship with JJ—if you could even call it that—also served to put into perspective just how bad things had become with Rafe. There was a time when you’d gotten so used to the abuse, so accustomed to the way he talked to you and held you and treated you. The constant reminder of how much better things could be made you act out in ways that you hadn’t in a long time.
Your behavior as of late had given Rafe the perfect excuse to show you just how awful he could really be.
Things were good when you were good, and being good entailed acting as the perfect girlfriend that Rafe wanted. Smiling when he looked at you, standing beside him and looking pretty when he was with his friends, placating him no matter how much in the wrong he was, and eagerly opening your legs for him whenever he wanted. After all, deep down, that’s what it was really about.
Rafe just wanted someone to always be in his corner and to be ever loyal to him.
It didn’t matter that he had to force it.
All Rafe wanted was for someone to kiss him on the cheek at the end of the day and choose him. You would find it sad if said behavior wasn’t actively ruining your life. Playing such a role had long driven you into depression, but it wasn’t so bad, now when you had something else to look forward to. As much as it pained you, you slipped back into that role of the agreeable and enabling girlfriend, content with the temporary relief from it that JJ brought to you.
“You’re always thinking about something,” Rafe murmured, a humorous lilt in his voice that didn’t fool you.
You knew that if Rafe could wish for anything, it would be to see inside of your head. The fact that he could control every aspect of your life except your thoughts was something that bothered him greatly. That was one thing he’d never have access to, and it absolutely ate him up inside.
He was right though.
As you looked at him, you were reminded of his face staring back at you from inside of that cop car. It seemed like so long ago—a lifetime—but nothing had hardly changed. You’d been so sure that day that things would be different. You’d been so scared, so tired, so…defeated. You remembered how determined you were to put a stop to this and start moving on from Rafe Cameron once and for all…but then Ward had gotten into your head and scared you even more with the reality of what would happen.
You wondered if Rafe thought about that day too, if he thought about how if it weren’t for Ward, then things would be very different right now. Rafe had a lot to thank Ward for, you supposed, but you didn’t say any of that. You didn’t dare.
“Just thinking that I’m going to miss you,” you quietly told him.
Ward was going away for the weekend to deal with some business, and Rafe was going with him. The trips had become more frequent over the past year, and you knew that it was only a matter of time before Rafe was fully brought into the family business…and once that was done, it wouldn’t be long before Rafe decided it was time to tie you to him forever. Rafe wanted to have it all, you’d always known that, and once his place by Ward was official, he would start checking things off the list one by one.
Rafe hummed at your response, reaching up and gently taking your chin between his fingers.
“You have been so good lately,” he murmured, leaning in. “I think you really will miss me.”
He pressed his lips to yours, and you kissed him back, closing your eyes and eagerly moving your mouth against his like you used to before JJ. While it was still second nature to you, you had never had to give it so much thought before. Behaving like Rafe’s dream girl was just something you did, something ingrained in you, but lately you had to remind yourself that you wanted things to be easy—smooth sailing.
It didn’t hurt to remember that Rafe noticed the way JJ acted about you these days. Rafe thinking that JJ harbored a crush on you was one thing, but if he even suspected the opposite then you were as good as dead. He thought it was funny, something to laugh about—the thought of JJ Maybank thinking he had a chance with his girlfriend—but the thought that you might be soft on the other blond wasn’t as amusing.
You recalled the way he looked at you as he threatened you that night, driving it into your head that he didn’t want you ever defending ‘that Pogue’ again. It didn’t matter how many times you told him you were just trying to be nice and mature, he didn’t want to hear it. You hadn’t missed the glint in his eyes, and it was then that you told yourself you needed to get it together.
JJ Maynank was messing with your head, rubbing off on you, and sometimes that was good, but there were also times where it wasn’t. He was so headstrong, so impulsive, and while you liked that about him, he was always going to be on the receiving end of Rafe’s wrath if he kept it up, and that was what you told him later that night after Rafe had dropped you off at home with a gentle kiss.
The younger blond huffed, and you watched him run his hand through his hair.
“Yeah, I know,” he reluctantly agreed. “I just don’t think you understand how angry he makes me. Downright murderous if we’re being honest.”
Your heart skipped a beat at that, hating when JJ talked like that, but you knew that it was all talk. Rafe was home and packing to leave with his father in the morning, and JJ was sitting on the edge of your bed, reaching for you and pulling you closer by your waist. Moments like this made the farce with Rafe worth it, and you placed your hand on the other man’s shoulders.
“You’re used to this, used to him,” he sadly pointed out, gaze soft as he looked up at you. “I’m not, and I don’t think I’ll ever be.”
Your shoulders sagged at that, silently agreeing with him. It did seem a little unfair to expect JJ to fall in line so quickly with something that had taken you years to perfect. The two of you had only been seeing each other for some months.
“You’re right…but do you get how it makes me feel to see him just tear into you because you can’t keep your mouth shut?”
JJ’s lips quirked up at that, and you lightly hit his shoulder.
“It’s not funny,” you told him, letting out a light chuckle anyway. “Unlike you, I’m good at this. He’ll never suspect me, but he has no problem with punching you in the face for just looking at me too long, and I know how much you love fighting Rafe, but it gives me a mini heart attack every time.”
The blond didn’t respond right away at that, and he eventually sighed before leaning in to press his lips to your stomach. When he tilted his head back, he looked up at you from beneath his lashes.
“For the sake of your heart…I’ll be better. I promise.”
The tension in your body eased a bit, but it didn't last long as you watched JJ push the end of your shirt up your torso.
“Now enough about Rafe,” he whispered into your skin. “I have you all to myself this weekend.”
You shuddered at the feel of JJ’s tongue against your stomach, and his fingers wasted no time in searching for the waist of your skirt.
With your parents just down the hall, you were hyper aware of every noise you made under JJ’s careful ministrations. Lying underneath him felt more like a real relationship than any moment you’d ever had with Rafe. JJ was gentle with every touch he gave to you, and you couldn’t stop your stomach from flipping every time he let himself lose control, frantically shaking your head whenever he asked if he was hurting you.
It was a good kind of hurt.
That was something you thought you’d never say. The blond was careful in leaving you blemish free for obvious reasons, but on the off chance that you woke up with a slight bruise or a mark on your chest, it didn’t feel like it did when you looked at Rafe’s marks in the mirror. You’d stare at them with the strangest desire for more, wanting JJ to keep marking you.
One of his hands massaged your breast while the other was being stroked by his tongue, shaky moans escaping your lips in your dark room. You’d grown addicted to the way his cock stretched you out, eagerly opening your legs for him every time he crawled between them. Sex with JJ was fun and good, and it never not ended with you begging him to come inside of you.
You absentmindedly talked with Sarah while you waited for your food. She was telling you about some trip they planned on going with the Twinkie, but you had to be honest with yourself in admitting that you were hardly listening. JJ and Pope were on the other side of the restaurant, and the blond kept catching your eye no matter how much you tried to pretend like you couldn’t feel the heat of his gaze.
It was only a few hours ago that he’d been climbing out of your bedroom with promises to see you tonight. Heat settled in the pit of your stomach at the memory of his fingers on you and in you, and you reminded yourself to savor this because Rafe would be returning in 24 hours and who knew how long it would be before you saw JJ again in the manner you preferred.
“...and believe it or not, JJ is claiming he can’t make it that weekend. What could he possibly have to do,” Sarah scoffed, and you finally looked at her again.
You suspected why in your head, but naturally you kept it to yourself.
“Hey, do you wanna come over tonight? With Rafe gone with our dad, I can actually invite my friends over without apologizing on behalf of him every thirty minutes.”
Her proposal came the same time Kiara brought your food out, and you struggled to turn her down.
“I wish I could, but I can’t,” you sadly told her, hating the way her face fell. “I have some things to take care of at my house.”
The blonde eyed you, and you took your food with a smile thrown Kie’s way.
“Is that for real? Or is this about Rafe? I swear this time it’ll just be us girls, and they miss hanging out with you. Right?”
She looked to the brunette behind the counter, and when you glanced at her too, Kie was sending you a small smile.
“Yeah, you should come.”
Her tone and gaze was welcome enough, but there was something about the way Kie looked at you that felt off. You sighed, hating to turn them down.
“I really have something to do,” you assured them. “I have no doubt that Rafe will be going out of town with Ward again, so next time. I promise.”
You gave Sarah a hug, squeezing her extra tight as an apology, and you waved Kie goodbye. You left without another glance at JJ no matter how much you wanted to, and you were almost to your car when you heard your name being called. The sound of Kie’s voice was surprising, but you turned to face her nonetheless.
Like inside, you couldn't place the expression on her face.
“Can I talk to you for a minute?”
Her tone was light, and nothing on her face contradicted that, but something about her question sparked worry in you. You blinked, a bit thrown—because what could Kiara possibly want to talk to you about—but you gave her a nod.
“Yeah, sure,” you said with a shrug.
She almost looked like she hadn’t expected you to say yes, and you understood it. You guys weren’t exactly close. Friendly, but not quite friends. You watched her tuck a few strands of hair behind her ear, lips parting as she seemed to be struggling with how to start.
“I…don’t even know if I should be doing this,” she breathed, and at that, you frowned.
She swiped her tongue between her lips.
“...but JJ is my best friend and…”
At that, your heart sank, doubly unsure and worried for what she was about to say. Kie swallowed, gaze soft as her eyes met yours.
“I don’t know what exactly is going on between you two…” you felt your blood run cold. “...and I don’t know exactly how long it’s been going on…but it’s not fair to him.”
At first, you thought the him in question was Rafe, but the longer you stared at each other, understanding filled you. Your chest felt tight as you looked away, softly exhaling.
“Look, there’s no need to freak out because I’m 100% positive I’m the only one who knows,” she assured you. “...and that’s only because I’m the only one JJ talks to about you.”
You knew that. She’d told you at Midsummers, after all.
“I see the look in his eyes when he talks about you,” she whispered. “I hear what he sounds like when he talks about you—I see the way he looks at you, and it’s only because of that that I see the way you look at him.”
You finally met her gaze again.
“...but you’re never going to leave Rafe.”
Her words felt like a punch to the gut…because they were true. Truer than she even knew.
“...and JJ’s so…” her words trailed off with a light scoff. “You took him by surprise. You’re sweet and polite and the complete opposite of Rafe, and I know what he’s thinking.”
Kie shrugged.
“...because I’ve thought it myself. JJ would be so much better for you. He’d be really good for you…but you’re never going to leave him. Are you?” she asked after some time.
When you blinked, you were surprised to feel a few tears skip down your cheeks, and you avoided her gaze.
“Kie it’s…it’s complicated,” you finally choked out, wrapping your arm around yourself.
“I don’t doubt that,” she laughed. “Trust, I believe that a relationship with Rafe Cameron is every bit as complicated as you say it is, but that doesn’t make this any more fair for JJ.”
An uncharacteristic stab of anger tore through you, and you stared her down, jaw clenching.
“Why aren’t you having this conversation with JJ? Why me?”
She looked at you like it was supposed to be obvious, a frown between her brows.
“...because he’s never going to leave you.”
You sharply inhaled at that.
“Despite how unfair this is to him and despite the fact that he’s forever going to be some dirty little secret and despite the fact that Rafe would probably run him down if he found out, JJ’s not leaving you. We both know that,” she sadly told you.
You didn’t have anything to say to that, and you struggled to swallow. Everything that Kie was saying was right…and you absolutely hated it. Sneaking around with JJ was fun and dreaming of a future with him was fun, but realistically? The small sliver of hope that you had about getting out of this relationship with Rafe was dwindling by the minute. Suppose you did get out unscathed…it wouldn’t remain that way.
The moment you even thought of stepping out with JJ would be the end of both you and him, and it suddenly hit you that you couldn’t even fathom making JJ go through that. The only way you’d ever be truly free of Rafe was if he were behind bars, and with daddy’s money, the only chance of that happening was if he ever killed someone.
…and that someone was likely to be you.
“Look, I’m not saying all of this to be a bitch, and you probably think I am a bitch, right now, but I like you, Y/N. I really do, and I like you for JJ…but this isn’t fair to him, and you know it.”
You turned away from her with a heaving chest, and more tears spilled over just as a familiar voice reached you both. JJ said something to her that you didn’t catch, too busy staring off into the distance as the gravity of her words hit you. When JJ called your name, you didn’t answer.
You only noticed that Kie was making her way back inside when he forced you to look at him. With one look at your face, his entire expression dropped.
“Hey,” JJ softly said to you. “What’s wrong? Is it Rafe?”
You could only shake your head.
When he reached for your face, you backed away from him, your back grazing your car. Your eyes kept roaming around, your throat and chest feeling so tight. When JJ reached for the keys in your hand, you tightened your hold.
“Let me drive you back home. I’m coming over anyway-.”
“I don’t think that’s a good idea,” you mumbled.
There was a brief pause.
“You can’t drive like this-.”
“No, I don’t think…I don’t think you should come over,” you forced out.
It was some time before you looked at JJ again, and when you did, he was only staring at you with a frown. His lips opened and closed, seemingly struggling to put his thoughts into words before his face went blank altogether. He stared at you for a few seconds before his gaze found The Wreck and back. When he spoke again, his voice was hard, tone icy.
“What did Kie say to you?”
You shook your head, silently crying.
“Nothing that wasn’t true.”
JJ grabbed your arms, and you pushed him away.
“Y/N-.”
“I have to go,” you choked out, hurrying to the driver’s side with JJ on your heels.
You ignored him every time he said your name, and when you slid into your car, he prevented you from closing the door.
“I’m going to call you. Alright? I know Kie probably said some things to you that you think you need to take seriously, but she doesn’t know the whole story, you have to remember that,” he firmly told you, his hand on your cheek.
JJ made you look at him, his thumb brushing over your lip.
“She doesn’t know the truth, she doesn’t understand. Do not listen to her. Okay…?”
JJ was pleading with you, his gaze crazed and desperate, and despite the nod you gave him, you knew in your heart that you already were.

series masterlist | part 2

IT RAINED THE NIGHT you first met Ellie.
You knew who she was; there were always rumors about her floating around school. People called her terrible names behind her back, said she was someone you shouldn’t hang around. You avoided her not because you believed them, but because you were intimidated by her.
Ellie was devastatingly pretty; had such kind green eyes and a sweet smile, she was also way cooler than you could ever dream of being. You were sure if you tried to speak to her you wouldn’t get one word out, she made you so nervous.
You watched her diligently from inside Dina’s living room, a paper party hat on your head. Dina invited you over to celebrate her 16th birthday, throwing a small party. Her parents were out of town and her big sister Talia had gotten her hands on some alcohol. You’d known Dina from a very young age; you went to the same preschool and became best friends in kindergarten. Dina was one of your only friends, aside from the girls in your church choir.
Now that you had entered the second half of your sophomore year, you felt as if Dina stayed friends with you out of pity. She was always dragging you along, taking it upon herself to invite you to things. You appreciated it but had an inkling no one else wanted you around like she did. Dina required that you made an appearance at all events she hosted; she was also sure to bring you to bonfires and house parties, claiming you as her “plus one”.
You sighed and passed a red solo cup from one hand to the other, wiping the condensation off on your jeans. You were tipsy, it was the second time you had ever had alcohol outside of church. When you first arrived, you eyed the cup Dina handed you suspiciously. “Don’t worry,” Dina said, “you won’t go to hell for getting a little drunk.”
You had taken the cup with a shy smile. “Happy birthday, Dina.” You handed her the gift you’d been holding in your other hand. She gasped, hands falling on your shoulders with the most gleeful smile on her face.
The wrapping was perfectly done, you had hunched over the thing until every line was parallel and taped down perfectly. You finished it with a charming blue ribbon, tied in a neat bow at the front. “Oh, it’s lovely!” Dina gushed and you preened under her kind words. She untied the bow and carefully ripped open the paper to reveal her present. She squealed, pulling out the special edition copy of Pride and Prejudice. “You shouldn’t have!”
Really, you shouldn’t have. You saved up every cent you earned from chores the last four months to afford the book, but you wanted to spoil Dina. She deserved it, for sticking with you all these years, for being such a good friend. Before you could reply, she snapped that stupid party hat on your head and gave you a big kiss on the cheek. “You’re precious,” Dina said earnestly, “I adore you.”
You flushed at her words, unable to take the compliment. You scratched the back of your neck, attempting to brush off the twisting feeling in your stomach. You laughed awkwardly, “thanks.” Dina snorted, patting the same cheek she’d smooched.
“Now drink up, church girl, the party just started!”
You’d lost sight of Dina a while ago, choosing to stand aside in the living room while people chattered around you. Some music was bumping from an old speaker Dina thrifted with you a few months ago. There weren’t that many guests, a handful of people you knew from school, some of Talia’s friends as well. Ellie was sitting on the back porch around the firepit with Jesse and a couple of buddies, smoking a joint and talking loudly with each other.
The fire flickered and illuminated the freckles on her cheeks. You smiled to yourself when you noticed her dimple became more prominent the more animatedly she spoke. That’s when the rain started, along with a boom of thunder in the sky. Your little bubble popped and everyone shuffled inside, opting to sit in the living room. You could feel the strained expression form on your face as it became more crowded.
Jesse noisily suggested playing truth or dare and you took that as your cue to leave. You snuck off into the kitchen, filling a glass with water. Your mouth had gone dry from your drink and your head was swimming a little from the effects of the alcohol. The water soothed your throat as you drank it.
“Not interested in playing games?” You choked on the mouthful you were about to swallow, whipping around to see Ellie leaning against the entranceway to the kitchen. Her eyebrows raised at your reaction and you could see that she was fighting off a smile.
You wiped your mouth with your hand. “N-no. Well, yes, I mean—” you paused. “Just needed some water.” You lifted the cup in your hand.
“I can see that.” Her smile was sly and precarious. You weren’t sure if she was teasing, flirting, or making fun of you.
You squinted your eyes at her, “are you not interested? In playing games, I mean.” Ellie took a few steps towards you. Her auburn hair was damp from the rain and you could smell it on her sweatshirt; an earthy, rich scent.
She plucked the cup from your hands, sipping on your water. She placed it on the counter, empty. “Not really, no. They’re lame.” She tilted her head at you, a hazy look in her eyes.
“Are you high?”
She laughed right in your face, “yes, you priss. That’s what happens when you smoke.”
A raging warmth bloomed on your face. This was maybe the second time you’d ever spoken to Ellie alone; the previous being a bunch of stuttered sentences while you both waited for Dina to join you after school. You didn’t remember her being this snarky. “Okay.” You stressed, “no need to be rude.” You crossed your arms defensively.
She huffed through her nose, a smile on her lips. She flicked the hat on your head. “Just messing with you.” She bit her bottom lip and your gut twisted in anticipation.
You ripped the hat off your head, placing it on the counter next to the cup; suddenly feeling juvenile for wearing it. You plucked up all of the courage you had, from the alcohol and pure spite. “You sure you aren’t being a flirt? I’ve heard things about you, Williams,” you tilted your head playfully so she knew you were joking too.
She was full-on grinning, her eyes sparkled. That dimple below the left corner of her mouth appeared. Your breath caught in your throat. “Wouldn’t you like to know?” She leaned in slightly, looking at you with an expression that made butterflies flutter in your stomach.
You scrunched your nose at her, genuinely smiling for the first time that night since seeing Dina. “Y’know,” you turned your head away from her, looking up at the ceiling to avoid her piercing green eyes, “I’ve never smoked before.”
Her smirk was pure electricity, “well, that just won’t do.” The cutesy butterflies became a hoard of bats when she pulled a new joint out of her back pocket. Her hand grasped yours and you were taken aback at how soft her skin was. You stared at your conjoined hands as she began pulling you to the other side of the kitchen, towards the connecting hallway.
You laughed and allowed her to lead you upstairs to the last door on the right, Dina’s room. Ellie shut the door behind you both and plopped herself on Dina’s window seat. You watched, frozen, as she wrestled the creaky old window open and stuck the joint in her mouth. “C’mere,” she nodded to the space next to her, speaking around the joint, “I don’ bite.”
You sprung into action, stumbling over to her. You sat next to her, your knees knocking against hers. She lit the joint, sucking in air so that the end ignited. She grasped it between her pointer finger and thumb as she passed it to you. “Now, don’t inhale too much, you’re gonna cough a lot cuz this is your first time.” She facilitated, “just take small hits until your throat’s used to the burn.”
You nodded, letting her words sink in. You brought the joint to your mouth, curling your lips around the filter, and breathed in. The taste was pleasant, but the burn was not. You immediately let out a cough, a puff of smoke escaping your mouth, unable to help yourself. You passed the joint back to her.
She smiled at you knowingly, “I was really bad the first time I smoked,” she laughed slightly, “nobody told me to take it easy so I inhaled way too much.” She took a hit of her own. “Coughed so hard I threw up.”
You let out a surprised laugh, shocked to hear that someone with her reputation had a story like that under her belt. “When was this?” You asked curiously.
“Back in Boston, before I moved here.” Ellie explained, “I did it right in front of the girl I had a massive crush on. It was so embarrassing.”
You smiled at her affectionately; passing the joint back and forth, you allowed a light daze to settle over your mind. “The first time I ever drank, Dina and I snuck a whole glass of vodka from her mom’s stash during a sleepover. We got so drunk we had to lay on the floor, everything was spinning so bad.”
Ellie gave you a bemused smile, “damn, church girl has a bad side.”
“I didn’t really want to do it at first, but, y’know,” you shrugged, picking your fingernails.
“What?” Ellie urged.
“It’s Dina.” You stated.
Ellie nodded, understanding settling on her face. “Oh, so you have a crush on Dina?”
“What?” You exclaimed, “no! I mean, she’s my best friend—”
“Yeah.” Ellie interrupted, “your best friend. Don’t worry, your secret is safe with me.” She shoved your shoulder, laughing at your mortified face. “All closeted girls fall in love with their best friend, it’s a right of passage.”
“Wha—?” Your face flamed with embarrassment, “Ellie, I am not gay. It’s a sin.”
Her eyebrows raised at you and she scoffed. “Right.” She said.
“I have nothing against gay people,” you held your hands up, attempting to explain yourself, “I just can’t—I can’t be gay.” She chewed the inside of her cheek as you accepted the joint from her hands, taking an especially large hit. You cough like crazy when you pass it back to her. “I have no problem with you, I’m sorry I said that.”
“‘s okay.” She said, tucking a stray piece of hair behind her ear and dropping her head to gaze at her shoes.
“No, it’s not.” You leaned forward so that you could look her in the eye. “I’m not like the other kids at school, I’m not some bigot.”
Ellie laughed at you again, “I got it, I got it.” Her eyes sparkled when the moonlight bounced off of them; you found yourself needing to catch your breath, chest tight. It was the smoke, just the smoke.
There was a knowing look on her face when she looked at you again, like she understood something you didn’t. “So, what exactly have you heard about me, then?” She asked you suddenly.
“That you’re a… raging lesbian that sells drugs and fights people for fun.” You crooked a smile at her when you said it. Ellie laughed out loud, cackling with her head thrown back. You couldn’t help but join in.

IT BEGAN TO RAIN when your flight took off for California.
You had the window seat and because of your anxiety, you held your pee for three hours instead of squeezing past your neighbors to get to the restroom. While rushing to the airport bathroom, you felt a string of buzzing in your pocket. You pulled your phone out and watched as nearly a hundred texts from Jesse pinged on your phone, stress-ridden and panicked; finally loading after you got cell service again.
You smiled wistfully, using the toilet before even attempting to respond let alone read his manic word vomit. You headed to the baggage carousel as you began to sift through the messages. Most were just mangled screaming, some half-literate, some fully realized thoughts. You rolled your eyes affectionately, a smile tugging on your lips.
Jesse was asking Dina to marry him today.
Instead of sending a supportive text, you decided giving Jesse a call would do a lot more good. He picked up after the first ring. “Jess,” you greeted carefully, “I got your messa—”
“Please help me!” He wailed on the other side of the phone. You attempted to disrupt the laugh that passed through your lips with a cough; he had never sounded this frazzled before.
“What’s wrong?” You urged, eyes flickering to the conveyor belt as it started spitting out suitcases.
“I’m not sure if I should wear the blue suit with a red tie or the black suit with the black tie or the gray suit—”
“Jesse, dude,” you said slowly, “please, calm down. You’re working yourself up for no reason.” You spotted your luggage and huffed as you lifted it off the carousel. “This proposal is super intimate and private, I don’t think you should wear a suit at all.”
“But Joel said—”
“Jess, I love and respect Joel so much, but don’t take advice from a man who’s never been married and hasn’t had to worry about what he’s wearing for a woman since Ellie graduated from college.” You said expressionlessly, all in one breath. There was a pause over the phone.
Jesse erupted into laughter. “Oh, man,” it sounded like he was wiping a tear, “I can always count on you to make me feel better.”
You couldn’t help the smile that twitched onto your lips. “You should wear dark bottoms with a light top or light bottoms with a dark top. Think dressed up casual, if you go too fancy it’ll clash with the location.” You had the phone wedged between your ear and your shoulder as you fiddled with your purse, trying to grab your sunglasses. “I’ll find some inspiration for you on Pinterest.”
“Ugh, you’re a lifesaver.” Jesse sounded much more relaxed. “Thank you.”
“Of course, Jess, call me if you need anything else, okay?” He made an affirmative sound before you said your goodbyes and hung up. You chuckled, shaking your head at your best friend.
Your next call was to Talia, who said she was parked in front of your terminal. The California heat embraced you when you stepped outside of the airport lobby; it felt like coming home. You loved the feeling of the dry, unforgiving air against your skin. It had been too long.
A melancholy feeling took hold of your heart, squeezing it gently within its bitter palm. So much had changed since you were last in Cali; everything had changed the day you left Cali.
Talia drove a swanky little Volkswagen Beetle, it was a bright yellow and she had the top down. The wind brushed your balmy skin as you drove along the Californian coast; it was like a dream realized. In two hours, your best friends would be engaged.
“The engagement party’s gonna have an open bar,” Talia grinned, one hand on the steering wheel, “you better know I’m gonna abuse that shit after all the trouble we’ve gone through.”
It was true; keeping this massive secret from Dina, being emotional support for Jesse, and helping to plan the proposal. It was a lot of work, but it was worth it.
“She’s going to love it so much, I don’t even care how stressed I’ve been.” You replied, imagining the look that was going to be on Dina’s face when she showed off her ring.
Most guests didn’t know what the party Jesse had planned was actually for, meaning it’d be a shock for nearly everyone there. Dina loved surprises and having a surprise engagement party after her proposal was going to be like icing on the cake for her.
Talia hesitated and you looked at her inquisitively, “...are you like—worried about Ellie being there?”
You laughed nervously in response, “now that is something I’m not thinking about.” And you really hadn’t. You had gotten so good at pushing Ellie and all of the emotional baggage that came with her out of your mind. You forced yourself not to think about her; to keep her intimate smiles and loving giggles from resonating in your head.
It had been three years; having thoughts about your ex after that long was kind of concerning.
Talia relented, allowing you to stop the conversation before it happened. You spoke about the dress you’d brought to wear to the party and sent Jesse some outfit ideas from your Dina + Jesse Wedding Inspiration board.
Dina’s face sparkled as bright as the darling ring on her left fourth finger. Just as you thought it would. You were over the moon for her; the choked gasp she let out when she saw you for the first time in the cramped bar nearly made you sink to your knees. Your sweet Dina was finally getting everything she’d dreamed of.
“You’re here!” She exclaimed into your hair as she hugged you tight against her.
You rubbed her back, “of course I am. I wouldn’t miss this for the world.” When you pulled apart her eyes were wet with emotion.
“Ugh,” she dabbed at her lashes, “don’t make me cry, you fucker.”
She’d slipped away into the crowd not much longer after that, tending to the other guests who were congratulating her and Jesse. Before you could huddle back into a corner, Jesse squeezed you into his embrace and kissed the top of your head. The tears that burned the back of your eyes convinced you to grab another drink before disappearing.
You signaled to the bartender, who approached you with a smile. “Whiskey, neat,” you said, propping your arms onto the bartop. “Please.”
“I see some things never change.”
Your head whipped to your right at the sound of a familiar drawling voice.
Ellie Williams’ gorgeous green eyes met yours, a hundred-watt smile forming on her face that sent your heart into palpitations. She was wider, fuller, clearly stronger. All signs of youth had been erased from her face with age. She’d always been annoyingly attractive, but apparently, you couldn’t catch a break from that fact even if she was your ex-girlfriend.
Even if she was your biggest heartbreak.
“Ellie,” her name left your mouth like a whisper, or maybe a prayer. How long had you secretly begged to see her again?
“Hey,” she greeted; leaning coolly against the bar, propping her tattooed forearm on the edge. You swallowed thickly.
“When’d—” your voice cracks, “when’d you get here? I didn’t see you come in.”
Her gaze swept down the length of your body and it felt like she just casually set you on fire. “I snuck in a couple minutes ago. I missed the big entrance, don’t tell anyone.” She gave you a half-smile, that fucking dimple creasing the corner of her mouth.
You felt like you were totally fumbling this interaction. She had completely thrown you off your axis; tossed a wrench into your meticulous plans to avoid interacting with her. The bartender placed your drink in front of you and Ellie grabbed their attention to order her own.
You gulped down your whiskey in three large mouthfuls, eye twinging at the taste. Your sinuses cleared and the additional oxygen to your brain calmed you a bit. “Oh—and another whiskey for the lady, please,” Ellie said as you placed your empty glass on the bar top.
You chuckled embarrassedly when Ellie winked at you while she spoke, mortified with yourself. Oh, you were entirely falling apart.
“How’s your mom?” Ellie asked and you released a breath.
“Um—good,” you cupped the back of your neck with your hand, avoiding her face. “She moved up to Boston last year to be closer to me. She’s uh, remarried.”
Ellie’s voice raised in surprise, “oh, you’re on the East Coast now?”
“Mhm,” you nodded, sending the bartender a smile when they placed your new drink in front of you, “moved there for work.” When Ellie didn’t say anything you spared a glance at her.
She looked kind of shell-shocked, a tick in her mouth that made your gut turn. You knew why, but didn’t have the strength to say anything about it to her. “What’s Joel up to? We haven’t spoken for a while.”
Ellie forced a smile, “oh, you know. Being an old man.” She wrung her fingers together like she was building her courage. “So, were you ever gonna tell me that—”
Someone called out your name from behind you. Abby Anderson approached you with her arms open and you let out a gasp when you saw her. “Abs!” You gave her a big hug. “Jesse said you weren’t coming!”
“I wasn’t, but when I heard you’d be here—”
You smacked her shoulder playfully, “stop that.”
“I was able to use some PTO last minute.” Abby’s pouty lips pulled into a smile.
A warm hand brushed your lower back, sending a shiver up your spine. Ellie leaned down to speak softly in your ear, “I’m gonna go congratulate the happy couple, I’ll see you later?”
The musky, spicy scent of her cologne flooded your senses and everything became hazy. She smelled downright edible.
“Yeah.” You breathed out, eyes fixed on the slope of her nose and lips.
She squeezed your hip lightly as her hand moved away. “Anderson,” she greeted Abby.
“Hey, Ellie, nice to see you,” Abby replied. Ellie sent her a two-finger salute, then walked towards the hoard of people surrounding Dina and Jesse.
“Jesus fuck,” you complained, fanning a hand on your blistering cheeks.
Abby snorted, “how ya doin’?”
You sent her a withering look. “Shut up.”

DINA FORCED YOU to come to her house for a party again.
This time, you arrived before most guests; tupperware of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies clutched in your sweaty hands. You were nervous about the social interaction, dreading it, actually. Your hand trembled when you pushed open Dina’s front door.
Ellie trailed in after you, keys dangling off her index finger while she held the screen door open for you. She was your designated driver for the night. You insisted you didn’t need one, you weren’t going to have more than one drink, but she wouldn’t surrender.
A cookie Ellie had hand-picked as the best from the batch was hanging out of her mouth. You suspected that was the real reason she wanted to drive you, first pick out of the cookie selection. You rounded the corner and entered the kitchen; some of your anxiety was chased away when you laid eyes on Dina and Jesse.
Jesse squealed in excitement when he saw the treats you brought over. He did a little dance when you opened up the container for him. “You are an angel.” He said as he groaned into the cookie he’d snatched.
Dina smacked his shoulder when he grabbed a second one, telling him to fuck off and save some for the rest. You could see the hearts in her eyes when he turned to her with a sweet smile on his face then devoured the second cookie in one bite.
Time passed, more people were filtering in from the frigid air. You could tell most of them pregamed, eyes drooping and cheeks flushed with blood. One especially belligerent guy you’d seen in the halls at school screamed, “Merry Christmas, bitches!” when he entered the doorway. You cringed, and Ellie laughed at the disgusted look on your face. She pulled you to the couch, shoving a glass of whiskey into your hands.
You cast another look at the sweater she was wearing, a reindeer with the word “horny” underneath it, and dropped into the cushions. “That sweater is so stupid,” you told her for the third time that night, and she gave you a devious smile.
“So you’ve said.” She plopped down next to you, spreading her legs comfortably, “I think you’re secretly jealous. Your sweater looks straight out of a granny catalog.”
You gasp, feigning offense. “How dare you!” Glancing down at your cheerful sweater, you realized that maybe it kind of did look like it could be found in an old lady’s arts-and-craft magazine. There were three snowmen lined up across the front with sewn-in sequins, pom-poms, and other knick-knacks as decoration. You sighed defeatedly, “but you’re right.”
Ellie shoved you on the shoulder as she laughed. You loved seeing her this way, carefree and relaxed. Whether it was the false bravado or misconstrued rumors, your impression of Ellie before your friendship began was completely wrong.
In the months since Dina’s window, you’d learned how similar Ellie really was to you. She preferred the quiet; she liked to read, play video games, and have movie nights. You look back on how nervous you were around her and laugh, Ellie was a big dorky sweetheart at her core. Nothing like the sly playboy-like image you had in your head.
You pulled your legs up, turned to face her, and tucked your socked feet under her thigh as you sipped on your drink. The burn in your throat was pleasant. You leaned your side against the back of the couch as you asked her, “have you finished Jane Eyre yet?”
“No! Shit, I’m sorry!” She turned to you with wide, guilty eyes. You laughed against the back of your hand at her expression. “I’ve been meaning to finish it, but I’ve been playing that game I told you about,” her hands flailed as she spoke, “you wouldn’t believe what happened.”
You suddenly focused in on the way her mouth moved as she spoke. The way she pressed them together when she was thinking of a word to use, the way she licked her bottom lip between sentences. She was so enthusiastic when she talked about the things she was interested in, her eyes lighting up with delight.
You realized that you had been tuning out her words as you stared, only catching the last half of her rant. “Is this about your fungus game?” You asked, playing dumb so that you could see the annoyed expression form on her face.
“I’ll have you know that fungus game is the most emotionally tormenting thing I have ever played in my entire life.” She stated, looking you dead in the eye.
“Oh, I believe you. Remember how you called me crying—”
“No.” Ellie cut in. You laughed into your whiskey as you took another sip.
“I wonder if I’d survive that apocalypse.” You mused out loud and Ellie snorted from beside you.
“Definitely not,” she said confidently, “you’re too sweet, you’d die after ten minutes outside.”
You gave her an offended look. “I am not that sweet, I’m just nice to you because you’re my friend.”
“Yeah, right.” Ellie teased, “you feel guilty after killing spiders.”
“They are an essential part of our ecosystem!” You defended yourself.
Ellie snickered like she’d won the argument; you opened your mouth to make another point when someone cleared their throat from beside you. That drunk boy you recognized from earlier stood in front of the couch, glancing between the two of you. “Hey.” He greeted.
“Hi?” Ellie responded, the tone of her voice raising into a mocking question.
The boy didn’t deter, “I’m Axel.”
“Okay?” Ellie’s voice became more sarcastic.
He was looking at you when he asked, “do you want another drink?”
You glanced at your nearly-empty glass of whisky and shrugged, “honestly, I’m good, I wasn’t planning on having more than one. Thanks, though.”
“‘Cmon,” Axel smiled broadly at you, “it’s Christmas! Just have one more—”
“She said no, Axel,” Ellie said firmly, “why don’t you fuck off?”
Axel scoffed, his eyes still trained on you, “why do you even hangout with this faggot?”
Before Ellie could get up to put him in his place, before she could even react to his words, you were out of your seat. Ellie could only watch stunned as you punched Axel so hard in his face that he stumbled, dropped his drink, then fell to the floor. There was a lull in the crowd of people as they watched it all unfold, Jesse pushing through the kitchen to see the commotion.
If that wasn’t enough, you stomped towards a man already wounded, rearing your foot back threateningly. That’s when Ellie finally reacted, standing up quickly and grabbing you around the waist to pull you away as you screamed, “don’t you ever use that word you limp-dick, good-for-nothing—”
“Whoa, whoa!” Jesse held his hands up, trying to calm you down. “What the hell is going on?”
“Get him outta here, Jesse!” You growled, fuming, “get him out or he’ll have two black eyes!”
Ellie hadn’t removed her arm from around you yet, watching as Jesse pulled the boy up and walked him to the front door. She released you when the door closed. Dina approached, grabbing your face between her hands. “You okay?” She asked, watching as you took quick, aggravated breaths.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” You said sternly, wiping at the angry tears forming in your eyes. “He called Ellie a—” you send a sidelong glance at Ellie, whose gaze hadn’t left your face during the entire altercation.
“We’re okay, Dee,” Ellie soothed, “he was just being an asshole.”
Dina nodded, looking between the two of you. You huffed, lurching towards the coat rack to grab your jacket and shoes. “Need some air.” You informed everyone before stepping out the back door.
The frigid winter air nipped at your nose as you huffed breaths into the night. Your fists were clenching and unclenching, the buzz of adrenaline still in your ears. Ellie stepped out not five minutes later, dressed in her boots and jacket.
“Hey…” she began cautiously. But you threw all caution to the wind.
“Aren’t you sick of it all?” You asked angrily, turning to look at the side of her face. Your implication goes unsaid. The rumors, the homophobia, the name calling.
“I mean, yeah, but what am I gonna do?” Ellie shrugged, unperturbed. “I can’t control anyone's actions, only my own. I choose to ignore it.” Then she smiled at you, tilting her head towards the grassy lawn, “‘cmere.” She grabbed your hand and a blanket off the back of a chair and pulled you away from the porch.
Ellie spread the blanket out in the middle of Dina’s yard, sitting on top of it and motioning for you to join her. You sighed, obliging. Your shoulders touched when you situated yourself next to her, laying down flat on your backs.
It was quiet for a few moments, then you saw it. A streak of white light flashed across the sky and you gasped; one hand jumping up and pointing to where the burning asteroid just was, the other grabbing her forearm. “A shooting star!”
When you turned your head to see if Ellie had caught it too, she was already looking at you. “Make a wish,” she said softly, her eyes just as tender as her voice.
You dropped your arm and the fingers on your other hand trailed down her forearm to lace her fingers within yours. You smiled, bad mood completely forgotten. “I wish I could see your face again when you realized I wasn’t as sweet as you thought I was.”
Ellie’s astonished expression made you giggle and squeeze her hand. “I can’t believe you.” She said earnestly, turning back to look at the stars.
“I know, I’m full of surprises.” You said cockily, proud that you threw her off so much that she hadn’t been able to come up with a single sarcastic comment. She laughed freely into the crisp night air, you watched her breaths condense and then evaporate.
An overwhelming feeling overcame you, something like endearment or adoration. “I’m so glad you’re here.” You whispered, just loud enough so she could hear you. You weren’t sure if “here” meant “here in this moment” or “here on planet Earth”, but Ellie didn’t seem to care.
She squeezed your hand back, “I’m glad you’re here, too.”

baby finn series, house divided
dad!lando norris x mom!wife!reader
series masterlist
summary - yours and lando’s little boy has decided to become a fan of a different team, leading lando into a little spiral
masterlist
-
finn norris, yours and landos bubbly pride and joy, was turning three this sunday - subjecting his birthday to a race day. finn had obviously grown up along the track with his dad and all his colleagues and friends which led him to adore and fall in love with the sport that is formula one - scaring the living daylights out of you in his passionate displays of love for the dangerous activity at such a young age. not only was finn bouncing off the walls when lando informed him of where his birthday would be held, he was jumping, shaking and yelling with excitement as the race track was his favorite place on earth.
“finn, baby, calm down,” you chuckled while giving lando a glance. you both were sat on the couch with your son in front of you in order to tell him the wonderful news. now your adorable little almost three year old was racing around screaming with joy.
lando let out a laugh as well and reached for his son, “if you’re excited about spending your birthday on the track you’ll also be very excited about my other surprise for you,” finn looked up at his father with those same crystal blue eyes and whispered as if it was to himself, “anotha’ supwise?” lando and you share another small laugh at his wonder as he proceeds to get your son his gift. you take this moment to sweep up your still giggly son into your lap and give him a few quick kisses to the top of his head. those delicious baby laughs were all you heard as you felt his face snuggle further into your arms. lando returns as swiftly as he left, yet this time he appears with a large box in his arms. your boy wiggles in your hold until you release him to crawl towards his father. once settled on your husband's lap, lando begins to aid him in opening the bright papaya colored box, leading to your understanding of the exact contents in seconds. lando was always getting sent items from fans that were miniature, or receiving pint-sized merch from mclaren all for his mini me which both of you just doted over. once the wrapping paper and tissue paper were thrown enough around your living room, finn finally poked his head into the box and came out with a frown.
“you don’t like it, bud?” lando softly questions while his eyebrows begin to furrow. “‘s not wed, dada,” your son responds as he eyes his father, confusion listed on all of your faces.
“baby, why would you want your outfit to be red for your birthday? don’t you want to cheer on daddy?” you attempt to understand the little boy by posing the questions but he simply just whips his head around to you even more confused.
“i cheer dada in wed!” his eyes begin to gloss over and you can already feel a temper tantrum about to stir, yet one look over to lando and you understand that both your boys may need a minute to cool down.
“okay finn, why don’t you pick out what you want to bring on the trip? i’ll be right in to help baby,” you reply cautiously as you lift him out of lando’s arms, around the forgotten papaya box, and in the direction of his room.
“otay, momma!” finn shouts as his little legs attempt to quickly take him into his room down the hall. once the tiny steps disappear, you turn to look at your other baby.lando sits on the couch with a blank stare as his hands ring together in front of him.
“he wants to support ferrari, love. not his own father,” lando’s head falls as he speaks and you land on the couch cushion next to him, beginning to run your hand up and down his back. even though finn was born while you both were young and unsure of how to raise a child together, since you were children yourselves, lando was consistently one of the best fathers you had seen. he let the third driver take his seat for a month and a half in order to be a dedicated father and bond accordingly with your son. he doted over you and your needs no matter what the cost or occasion. and overall he cherished approval, whether it be in the bedroom, the track, or parenthood. lando is confident, yes, but he will always want the confirmation that he is doing his best, and that his best is enough - which it is always more than. therefore, you could tell that his son not wanting to support his team, and by partisan him, has led him to conclude that he is not a good racer, role model, or father - and you needed to stop those lies from invading his head.
“lando, he’s two - almost three, he probably just likes the color and wants to wear it,” you reply to his heart heavy confession.
“no he wants to support his uncle carlos, who has been winning and been on all the podiums - oh except for when he was in the hospital having a surgery,” the ending of his small reply held a bitter tone which you knew was not jealousy. lando and carlos are especially close, he is beyond happy and proud of his friend who he knows deserves his winnings, but you could understand the envy appearing when his son is preferring him over his dad.
“lando, it doesn’t matter what team he wants to support, that is your son. and he worships the ground you walk on. trust me. i am with him all the time,” you continue with a chuckle and a funnier tone as you begin to recite the words your son always speaks to you, “it’s always, ‘when’s dada coming home?’ ‘i want dada to tuck me into bed’ ‘can i drive like dada when im older’ and so on. lando, he loves you - you know that. don’t make this into a bigger deal than it needs to be. he is three, his intentions are pure,” as you end your speech, lando begins to raise his head looking into your eyes.
“i know, love. it just sucks i guess,” he lets out a quick sigh along with a shrug and meets your eyes again, “you’re still wearing papaya, right?” slight anxiety in his higher pitched question and you begin to laugh, “yes, love, i will always be in your color,” you reply as he hums and leans into your embrace, reaching down to plant a sweet kiss to your lips. just as you pull apart you can hear the quick little pitter patter of feet running down the hallway your little boy emits, trailing behind him is his bluey mini suitcase overflowing with toys and games.
“i all pack!” he squeals in excitement as he races over to you and your husband. lando drops down onto your floor, finn running right into his embrace, followed by a fit of giggles.
“let’s see what you packed, buddy,” your husband replies as he ruffles around finns baby curls. finn then claps a bit until he’s situated on the floor in front of the suitcase. he begins pulling out his items and reciting them to both of you and you respond in a chorus of “ooh’s” and “aah’s”.
race day -
as lando struts down the makeshift runway that is the entrance to the paddock, you follow behind a little further as to not draw too much attention to your little son. even though finn had grown up around the paddock, both lando and you are still not fully comfortable with the cameras and attention specifically around your son. therefore, any precaution - even the slightest - to not have him overly immersed in the media you both will take. lando is simply sporting his mclaren team gear, you in a light and well-fit sundress that lando emphasized in the morning you look ‘absolutely ravishing, my darling” and your birthday boy, well, he has arrived in a bright red ‘sainz55’ ferrari shirt as well as a bright and wide smile - something your husband couldn’t even be mad at if he tried, as your son’s smile that bright on his birthday was worth any sort of bruise to the ego. once well inside the paddock, finn begins to wiggle and squirm in your arms wanting to be let down which could only mean one thing.
“UNCLE LOS! UNCLE LOS! UNCLE LOS!” he begins to cry as you put him on the ground and he takes off towards him.
“FINN! SLOW DOWN!” your husband cries after him as he picks up a jogging pace after his overenthused son. carlos’ head whips around at the voice of his favorite little man as he begins to crouch down and brace for impact with his arms held wide. the little ball of red soon collides with his newfound favorite driver and the two begin to laugh as they hold each other. once you and lando catch up to the pair you can hear the adorable conversation at play.
“i wear wed fo’ you, uncle los!” finn sings happily while prancing around in front of carlos. the spanish driver, still crouched at your son's level, chuckles in admiration as he stares at the boy in front of him, “i think red is your color, pequeño,”
“it is! it is!” finn replies once again jumping around in full excitement.
“i also think it is somebody’s birthday,” carlos says holding a sly grin while staring at the little lando in front of him.
“ME! it’s mine!” your boy continues to jump.
“i think special birthday boys get to sit in their favorite uncles car?” carlos feigns innocence in the question as he looks at lando who holds a grin on his face. finn looks at his father for permission with a slight doe-eyed expression and lando gives him a simple nod before finn and carlos quickly disappear to the ferrari garage.
“i am very proud of you, love. you’ve got a good brave face,” you say quietly to your husband as he reaches down to pull you into a kiss.
“you know why i’m smiling, baby?” lando doesn’t wait for you to answer the rhetorical, “because we just gained a free babysitter for about an hour,” he kisses you again, this time with more urgency as he continues, dropping an octave, “and i’ve got an empty drivers room just waiting for us,” one more kiss and he’s already pulling you into the direction of the mclaren garage with you jogging quickly behind him in a fit of giggles.

UNFORTUNATELY INTERESTED michael kaiser
That weird regular with blond and blue hair stopped showing up to the cafe you work at and coping by watching every clip you find of him online isn't enough. Lucky for you, he's also a weirdo freak who missed you.
tags: birthday special!! crack, loser x loser, ness doesnt ask questions, ness third wheels, ness STAND UP, mentions of circumcisions if you dont fuck with that, reader is a freak, michael is a freak, it cancels out (no it doesnt), 2.6k words of slop, i'm lazy and am going to nap now

A man named Michael orders two drinks from your cafe each morning at seven. It’s a simple order of a mug of hot black coffee and a to-go order of black tea. He sits down at a table farthest from the entrance but still next to a large window pane, sipping on his coffee until it’s gone. Then, he’ll place the empty mug on the shelf with all the other dishes to be washed and take his tea with him, disappearing until the following morning. He isn’t the only morning regular that you encounter but the blond and blue mullet along with the tattoos of intertwining blue rose vines are intriguingly beautiful; every person has a uniqueness intangible by another but Michael’s haunting blue eyes leaves you with uncomfortable curiosity that’s seemingly impossible to be satiated.
He stops showing up three months after his first visit. It kind of freaks you out since you had just come to terms with how you’ve been anticipating his appearance every morning for you to observe him like a scientist observing bacteria under a microscope. Part of you assumes it’s because he caught onto your weird staring and finally rationalized that there’s a creepy barista that’s a little too interested in his ritual of blowing his piping hot coffee four times before drinking or how they’ve caught onto the way he delicately trails his fingertips around the ceramic rim of the mug between every sip. Fortunately for your pride, your question as to why he disappeared was answered by a viral post on your social media feed of your more interesting customer shirtless and calling a group of teens dumb, ugly pieces of shit or something like that. You laughed at the clip before realizing that you really did look forward to seeing him again.
It freaks you out a little bit when a different man shows up at seven in the morning ordering the exact same thing Michael did: a black coffee and black tea but this time, they’re both to-go. He gives his name as Alexis and you can’t help but think his face looks rather familiar. As he waits for his order, he scrolls on his phone and furiously types something before perking up when you call his name.
“Thank you!” he chirps, putting his phone into his pants pocket. “My teammate really likes it here. He asked me to get this for him because he can’t make it. Uh, his name is Michael?”
Your mind clicks into place at the mention of your former customer’s name. The man in front of you is Alexis Ness, the funny little guy that Michael, or rather Michael Kaiser, would exclusively pass to on the field. You’d rather die than admit that you spent a little too long stalking any and all videos of the man you could find—his awful personality was oddly entertaining. “Yeah! He used to come by every morning before falling off the grid.”
You were tempted to ask about Blue Lock, but you didn’t want to expose yourself as a freakish stalker that does background checks on their customers as a hobby. Before you can fall victim to temptation, Ness pushes the glass door open with his back and leaves with a short “have a nice day!”, leaving you with a new guy to dig up info on.
The next morning at seven, you expected to see Ness return to order drinks for Michael, but you were greeted with two men instead of one. One of which, being Michael himself. His hair was put up with a gold claw clip rather than let down and he mindlessly nodded along to the nonsense rambling of Ness. The shirt he wore was loose around the collar, exposing a blue rose tattooed onto his neck and collarbone, a painful yet beautiful placement. Each line and stretch of color was beginning to bloom into his skin as it settled and spread, leaving slightly blurred edges as a result of aging. You had read that he was the same age as you, nineteen, and that made you wonder when he had gotten it done.
“Good morning,” you greeted with a small smile, standing in front of the register with your hands in front, ready to take their order. Directing your attention to the blond man, you attempt to start some kind of small talk, “It’s been a while since you’ve been here. It’s good to see you back. Black coffee here and black tea to-go?”
“I’m impressed that you remembered my order,” he teased, reaching into his pocket for a black wallet and pulling out a credit card. “Have I really made such a big impression on you?”
Slightly irked but also amused, you take his card to slide on the side of the register. “You came here every day for months straight. I think it’d be embarrassing for you if I didn’t remember who you are. It’s not often someone like you comes around and stays.”
“Someone like me?” Michael asks with a raised brow.
“Y’know, tatted up and choppy, dyed hair. You kinda remind me of a peacock; I fuck with it.”
“Nice to know someone appreciates it,” with an exaggerated sigh, he combs his fingers through a loose lock of hair framing his face. “It’s a shame people tend to be so boring and unappreciative of what I bring. Peacocks you say? When I cut my hair, I can put the scraps together and make a custom peacock feather just for you.”
“Oh…I’m so glad to hear that you’re creative and confident? I think this is why you’re a soccer player and not a business owner…or pickup artist…or a customer service worker…or a respected individual.”
The mention of his athletic career catches Michael off guard for a brief moment, ignoring everything else you said like a guy stuck in delusion limbo with selective hearing, but he was quick to recover from the initial shock. “You know about me? I never knew you were such a fan. Do you want me to sign a napkin for you? I don’t offer this to just anyone.”
“I’m good, you can leave my napkins alone. And I think it’s reasonable to see what happened to my former superfan.”
“Don’t get too ahead of yourself, I was here for the superb drinks, not you.”
“Ouch? Be careful what you say, I’m the one making your order.”
As Michael laughed at your interaction, you suddenly remember that Ness was still there, having long been done with reading the menu. Whatever embarrassment you had was replaced by judgement with how Ness was perfectly content and joyful about being left out like a cuck. Athletes are weird, you conclude.
“What can I get for you?” you direct towards Ness, opening up a new order.
“Um, I’ll get a cold brew to-go.”
“Sounds good! Cash or card?”
Shortly after, all three drinks were made and you called both Michael and Ness to the pickup area where Ness grabbed a straw and found a table for the two to sit at. Michael, however, stayed behind, not even bothering to touch his two drinks before talking to you.
“What time does this place close?”
“Six in the afternoon every day except for some special holidays where we either close early or don’t open at all. I can never remember which is which so I bother the owner for every one.”
“Is it just you who takes the opening shifts?”
“Yeah, I work the first hour alone and then my coworkers come in. I get off at three so it’s not too bad ‘cause I get the afternoons and evenings to myself.”
“That’s nice,” Michael muses, slowly nodding to himself. He slides his coffee over to himself and looks at you with a sly smile. “So if I were to take you out for dinner, it wouldn’t be a problem?”
“If you’re gonna kill me? Yeah that’d kinda suck, but if you’re talking about a date…sure,” you laugh at your unfunny joke. Thankfully, Michael either also shares a bad sense of humor, or laughs at you and is mocking you. If it’s the latter, you’ll find a way to get back at him (and it doesn’t have to be ethical). “Um, do you want my number or…?”
“That’d be wonderful, thank you.”
You quickly grab a ballpoint pen and scribble your contact information on a napkin from next to the sugar and sweetener packets, handing it to Michael. His slender hand brushes yours, sending goosebumps down your arm from his cold skin. Outwardly, you don’t show your surprise at the unexpected sensation but the rush it brought made you embarrassingly giddy.
His sharp blue eyes crease along with a teasing smirk on his smooth lips. “And here I was thinking I’d be the one signing a napkin for you. How nice of you to prove me wrong, love.”
“Already starting with the pet names? That’s bold.”
“Should I stop?”
“Do whatever you want. It’s kinda funny how eager you are to be with me.”
“I can’t deny that.”
Michael carefully folds the napkin with your phone number, placing it in his wallet and meets Ness at the table he chose, bringing his beverages along with him. It didn’t take long for the pair to finish and leave, but not without Michael sending you a sly wink your way. The gesture was kind of goofy and if it were anyone else, would give you second hand embarrassment from its corniness. From how your heart skipped a beat, you silently cursed him out for bypassing your bitterness and working his way into managing to fluster you.
—
“Hey, a customer asked for my number this morning,” you tell your coworker, Yui, as she ties an apron around her waist. Her brown eyes lit up at the news as she whipped her head around to face you. One of the first traits you learned about her was her nosiness and although it could easily become aggravating, you had always found it entertaining, making her one of your favorite people to work with. Her schedule, unlike yours, alternated between working morning shifts and afternoon shifts, making you see her a couple days a week. Yui finishes her uniform by putting on a baseball cap with the cafe logo on it, something you learned that she would take off within an hour from how sweaty it’d make her.
“Who?! Did you give it to them?! Did they text you yet?! That’s so exciting unless they're creepy and weird and in that case, I hope they get pushed in front of a subway,” Yui fires at you, her eyebrows raised with intrigue. “Well?”
“It’s the soccer guy that I told you about. The one who used to come here every day and then dropped off the face of the Earth.”
“Oh! Michael Kaiser? Wait—he asked you out?! Holy shit. That’s insane! Did you say yes? Did he text you yet? You should text first—wait you can’t because he’s the one with your number.”
“I guess he technically asked me out? I mean, he just said ‘hey, what if I took you out for dinner’. If he doesn’t text me I’m going to kill him.”
“Fair, fair.”
You got a notification from an unknown number on your way home, asking you if you were the barista at your cafe. Relief flooded your body, overriding the tension you didn’t know you had. After shooting a text back, confirming your identity and asking if the message was from who you think it is, it takes five seconds too long for him to reply and in that time you consider buying a pair of scissors for a surprise circumcision.
MICHAEL: How do you feel about 6 P.M. tomorrow?
YOU: fine with me
YOU: where should we meet
MICHAEL: I can pick you up
MICHAEL: Consider it a surprise
YOU: can you even drive
YOU: are you going to kidnap me
MICHAEL: NO
MICHAEL: PLEASE GIVE ME A CHANCE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
YOU: omfg you want me so bad
YOU: [address]
YOU: https://www.wikihow.com/Neuter-a-Dog (this is a warning)
An alarm indicating you have ten minutes before Michael picks you up blares from your phone but you stay put, stupidly blinking into your vanity mirror as if it’s going to do anything to your appearance or do anything to turn your phone off. The gum you were chewing served as a stress reliever and something to make sure your breath wasn’t rancid but it quickly turned into garbage bin gunk as soon as you bit your tongue. Everything was starting to piss you off and you suppose you’d start with silencing your phone.
Even though you’ve worn this outfit before, you twirl around like a dog chasing its own tail, trying to find any uncut tags or a seam that magically broke in the few minutes it spent putting it on. Several stabs to your ego outweighed the taste of blood in your mouth as you realized you were losing your cool over a guy named Michael so in an attempt to calm yourself down, you disregard any advice of breathing exercises and imagine Michael picking his nose while loudly grunting as he takes a shit. To your utmost horror, you don’t get the ick.
Exactly one minute before the clock hits six, you get a text from Michael saying that he’s outside your apartment. You stumble to get your keys, making sure your bag and everything you need is with you. Despite not spending any time wondering what his car would look like, the obnoxious electric blue car had you blinking several times and pinching yourself to confirm if what you’re seeing is real. One part of you feared that the literal beacon would attract a violent mob of paparazzi or creepy fans and it’ll end up in all your private information being leaked with a box of shit on your doorstep but another self-absorbed part of you thought the gesture was flattering and that deep down, you were thoroughly enjoying the attention. Match made in hell or whatever.
“Nice car, you planning on totaling it anytime soon?” you ask, sliding into the passenger’s seat.
“Not yet, unless you’d like me to. I can put a blindfold on and press the gas as hard as I can if you ask,” he gleefully fantasizes. It’s a little cute how smug he is talking about ways he would cause a car accident for you. Maybe chivalry isn’t dead or maybe you’re both doing the world a favor by going off the market. “I’m a man of many talents, after all.”
“Wow. I’ve never been more attracted to a man in my life.”
You don’t know if Michael’s playing along to your deadpan comment or if he’s choosing to ignore it with the way he drives all the way to the restaurant with a smile on his face. The sight of him with such a proud expression on his face combined with the misplaced confidence is embarrassing but endearing. If you were to ask yourself why you decided to smile along with him, you’d tell yourself it’s because you’re making fun of him in your head, but in your heart, you know it’s for a different reason—one you’re too stubborn to admit.
To spend months observing Michael Kaiser only for him to disappear without a trace, leaving you longing for a reunion you thought only you would anticipate is more shameful than admitting to yourself you had fallen for him first. As Michael parks his car and extends a hand out for you and opens your door, extending a tattooed hand out for you, you suppose you’ll share your affections with him the same time you share it with yourself.

The Birthday Boy
Kim Hongjoong x male reader

This guy
Stuff: gay shit, fluff, smut, fucking, cuddle fucking, missionary, anal fingering, rimming.
Story: reader is a part of ateez and has been in love with Hongjoong for a few months now, and finally something happens.
Word Count: 1,542
Note: so, I haven't written in a while... my bad. But more importantly, happy birthday Hongjoong!
Hongjoong was utterly stunned when he saw the vibrant decorations hung around the dance practice room. His friends all gathered around as they yell "SURPRISE! HAPPY 25TH!" with bright smiles all over their faces. He thought he was just coming to any other day of practice and eating dinner and going on live with everyone later, but thanks to you, he also got this vibrant party.
A few weeks ago, you brought the idea up to the rest of Ateez, who all absolutely loved the thought of a surprise party. So, it's thanks to you that this whole surprise party idea was started. You all pitched on the decorations while you got up extra early to set them up, even going as far to bake the glorious cake.
Hongjoong had that adorable smile on his face when you all shocked him with the party.
"Guys... thank you so much!" He said, laughing lightly as his smile beamed, filling the whole room with his aura of joy.
"It was Y/N's idea." Seonghwa said, wrapping his arm around your shoulder. Hongjoong looked at you with a glimmer in his high, clearly having much gratitude and... adoration.
Your face erupted in blush from his tender gaze, your emotions being a mix of nervousness, embarrassment, pride, adoration, and of course, love for the leader.
"Your uhm... your welcome." You said sweetly, still a little embarrassment from the effect that his tender expression is having on you.
Hongjoong slowly walks over to you before wrapping his arms around you tightly. He tucks his head in your shoulder as light tears fall from his eyes.
"I mean it, thank you. This is so sweet." He expressed vulnerability.
"Of course, Captain." You replied cheerfully.
And with that, the party goes on, you guys play all kinds of games, have Hongjoong open his presents, saving the best for last, yours.
He unwraps the gift to find a beautiful jacket, clearly quite expensive. It is vaguely 80's inspired, with all kinds of colorful shapes littered throughout it for the fashion diva himself.
"Do you like it?" You asked, awaiting his response.
"I love it, it's so cute." He responded before placing a gentle kiss on your cheek, causing your light blush that you've had all the way up until now to erupt into a full deep red shade.
As the cake is given out, Hongjoong is talking with Yunho, Yeosang, Seonghwa, and Jongho. While Mingi, San, and Wooyoung are with you.
"Great job on the party Maverick." Mingi compliments.
"Aw shucks, thank you." You replied with a smile, very proud of the whole ordeal. San wraps an arm around your shoulders, pulling you closer so he can whisper in your ear without others listening, or more specifically, Hongjoong.
"So, when are you going to make your move?" He asked, as if your crush on Hongjoong is just the most obvious thing.
"Wh-what do you mean?" You questioned back, trying to play coy even though it is so obvious to San.
"Don't play stupid, we all know you're in love with him. Why don't you two just date already, it's obvious you're in love." He states plainly, acting as though this isn't one of the biggest deals in your whole life.
"But what if he doesn't feel the same? Then I'm still Hongjoongless and things would be awkward." You admitted, fearful of the ever-encompassing threat that he may not feel the same way.
"Don't give me that high school bull shit. He loves you, it's so obvious." He, again, states plainly, treating this whole situation like some high school melodrama, which it kind of is.
"WHAT!" You accidentally yelled out in surprise at San's super casual statement, having realized that you've completely wasted the past few months worrying about the captain's love when it was ALLEGEDLY so obvious to everyone but you, man, are you oblivious.
You look over at Hongjoong, which he notices and looks over at you. That's when you see it, the thing that has evaded you all this time, that glint in his eyes and particularly adorable smile when he sees you. He looks as though everything is darker but you, that makes everything else so much less beautiful just from your own ever-present glow. The same look that you always give him.
As the party dies down and the other members go home, it is stuck with just you and Hongjoong sitting on the couch, cuddled together sweetly in the aftermath of the surprise party. The decorations littered throughout, having made quite the mess.
"I decorated everything, you can clean it up." You stated.
"I'm the birthday boy! I'm not cleaning anything today." He exclaimed.
"Then clean tomorrow when you're no longer the birthday boy." You countered, all in good fun. He pulls you closer, really cuddling with you now. The closeness makes your head all dizzy, and your stomach almost bursting with butterflies.
Hongjoong realizes your dazed look and puts his hand under your cheek, bringing your face to look at his own. He stays like that for a while, his light breathing against your lips. You also just stay there, lips slightly apart as you stare into his eyes.
He breaks the moment by pulling your lips into his. You're stunned for a few seconds before eagerly returning the embrace, pulling him closer to deepen the kiss.
His hands go down to squeeze your hips, grinding his lower body against his own, eliciting a light moan from your mouth which he takes full advantage of, shoving his tongue into your mouth, entangling it with his own.
His body grows bolder, grinding his growing and clothed hard on against yours, his hands going down even more to tightly grab your ass, causing you to moan more.
As you both moan into each other's mouths, the kiss grows more and more passionate by the second, his fingers go into your pants, circling your ring of muscle, causing you to slightly pull away from the kiss in surprise.
"Sorry, too much?" He apologized, pulling his hands away.
"Fuck no, you feel how hard I am? Don't stop now." You replied, sitting on his lap and grinding against him even harder, your hand going down to palm him through his pants.
He quickly puts his finger into your muscle, making you have a loud yelp of pleasure and pain at the swift insertion. He slowly pumps the finger in and out, looking into your eyes for any sense of hesitation. You give him the opposite, looking back with a dazed and horny look.
He quickly takes off his shirt, revealing his strong and fit form, he then quickly dispels your own clothes, leaving you completely bare, your hard cock at full attention.
He slowly pumps your leaking member, bringing the pre cum to his mouth, licking it off his hand.
"Mmm, you taste so good baby." He exclaims before placing you on your hands and knees, diving into your ass.
He shoves his tongue into your rim, getting you ready for the main event to come. His tongue sends jolts of electricity through your body, going right to your mouth as you moan in delight from his skilled tongue.
Once he's decided that you're probably ready enough, pulling his pants down and gently flipping you over on to your back.
"I want to see you." He admitted sweetly. "You ready?" You quickly nod, giving him the consent needed to slowly push past your tight ring.
He slowly inserts himself at a leisurely pace, his mouth on yours the whole time, swallowing the cries of pleasure and pain.
Once he's bottomed out, he pulls away from your mouth, looking at your face for permission to move, which you give him with a quick nod.
He starts slowly moving inside you at a slow but steady place, causing light moans to leave both of your lips. Those light moans turn much louder and frequent as he quickens the pace of his well-timed thrusts, looking into your face the whole time with love.
You look back with equal adoration, wrapping your arms and legs around him to pull him closer, making him let out a particularly loud moan, which he returns by slowly pumping your achingly hard member.
"Fuck... I'm close." You let out, pulling him closer, feeling so overwhelmingly and beautifully close to him.
"Me too, can I...?" He asked, clearly asking for permission to cum inside you.
"Fuck yes, please." You replied, allowing him to cum inside your tight hole, which is exactly what he does.
His own orgasm gives you the final push you need to cum in his hand. He gently thrusts his hips in and out while slowly pumping your cock with his hand, driving out both of you shared orgasms.
He stays inside you while hugging you tightly, gently kissing your neck.
"I love you." He declared, his voice tired from the orgasm but still filled with conviction and sincerity.
"I fucking love you too, Hongjoong." You responded, gently kissing his forehead before drifting off to sleep, his head on your chest as you held him closely. The first love making of many, and the start of a new and wonderful relationship for you two.
THE END
Final Notes: hey, I wrote something, your welcome. HAPPY BIRTHDAY HONGJOONG.

I started this post with the intention of asking for fic recs where Bruce gets his kids early, but then I ended up just writing some ficlets
_(:3 」∠)_
I still really just want recs I swear but I wrote these anyway and am incapable of doing more with them so here
☆彡
Dick Grayson is 8 years old when he watches his parents die. Bruce is 24 years old when he sees a young boy’s life fall to pieces. He’s far too young to be a single father. But he sees too much of himself in the child, and he knows in his heart that he won’t be able to walk away from him.
He talks to Alfred about his fears of only furthering Dick’s trauma by failing him as a guardian. It takes some time, but Alfred is able to convince Bruce to find a therapist and take some discreet parenting classes. He’s still Batman, and I don’t think he’s capable of Gentle Parenting™ but he does do better. Plus, Dick is young enough to learn to read Bruce before the teenage hormones kick in so they manage to communicate much more effectively with each other.
☆彡
Bruce meets Catherine Todd by chance because there was a cool park Dick wanted to stop at. She’s trying to deal with her hungry and fussy 3 year old step son, but she’s young and stressed out and hungry herself and she just doesn’t know what to do. Bruce offers to take them out for lunch. He asks Dick to take Jason to the play area in the corner while they talk.
She breaks down and tells him of her struggles with addiction. She does her best to keep Jason fed, but it’s so hard. Feeding him means she goes hungry most of the time because she can’t quit using. Jason wouldn’t survive if she had to go through withdrawals with him.
He’s not even her kid! Not really. Her husband is just an abusive deadbeat so she doesn’t have a choice. She does love him, but she never wanted kids, and she can’t just let a child die when she can do something.
Bruce fills their fridge and cabinets to the brim (he offers to do much more for them but that’s all she will budge on. She has too much pride to accept outright charity, but she will do what she can to keep her kid safe) and he makes it clear to her that he is willing to take care of Jason for however long is necessary when she decides to take the first step to get clean.
Two months later, Willis gets arrested and Catherine shows up at Wayne Manor and tells Bruce she signed up for inpatient, but she thinks it would be best for Jason and for herself if Bruce would be willing to take permanent custody. She stays in Jason’s life, just not as a mother figure.
☆彡
A year or so later, Bruce gifts Alfred with a vacation as an early birthday present. Things have been hectic with the sudden acquisition of two sons, and Alfred has done so much, he deserves a break. Bruce promises he’ll be able to handle two kids on his own.
Turns out, he was mostly right, but only just barely. The kids are fine, the manor not so much. He ends up hiring a few services to help out with general housekeeping. A couple of those workers also happen to be regular hires for the Drakes.
Bruce overhears them talking about how sad it is that those awful people treat their toddler more like a doll than a child. He learns that not only do they leave for long periods at a time while not hiring a proper nanny to watch over their son, just expecting the help to take care of him, but they also lock him away on his own whenever it’s ’not fashionable’ to have a 2 year old around.
Alfred comes back to the manor on August 15th, just in time to celebrate his and Master Jason’s birthdays together. He opens the door and dodged around a very excited 4 year old jumping up and down in the entry hall.
“ALFIE! ALFIE! BOOSE GOT ME A BABY BWOTHER FOR MY BIRFDAY! LOOK! LOOK! HIMS NAME IS TIMMY AND HE’S THE BESTEST!”
Alfred leans over to peak behind the boy, and sees a very quiet, very small child standing behind him.
“Oh, dear.”
☆彡
The day Bruce got the call from Talia telling him she was pregnant with his child was one of the best days of Bruce’s life. The day she called to tell him she miscarried was one of the worst.
The only blessing was that he didn’t need to explain it to his kids. Talia was going to move in once she was in her second trimester, and they planned to reveal her pregnancy together.
He got the call two weeks before her flight out. He begged her to come anyway, he loved her, they could still be a family. She refused.
Six and a half months later, he walks into his bedroom to find Talia standing by the window with a squirming bundle in her arms. With equal measures steel and sorrow in her eyes she tells Bruce she is sorry for what she put him through, but it was the only way to keep their son safe. He gathers them both in his arms and holds them tight as she explains.
Her father had planned to raise an heir to be the Demon Head. He would be kept a secret from Batman until the very end. But when Talia gave the final push to birth their son, he came out quiet. She panicked for a moment until her midwife quietly leaned down to listen to the baby’s breathing and then looked up with a soft smile, she bundled up the small thing and handed Talia her baby. Big beautiful green eyes blinked up at her. The midwife leaned closer to Talia and whispered, “Sadly, your son was stillborn. I’m deeply sorry for your loss, but surely The Great Head of the Demon would be willing to allow you some time away from your duties while you recover.” Talia allowed the woman to cover her beautiful cooing baby gently with soft linen and silk and carry him from the room. Later that night she left her home with her son and boarded the first flight to Gotham.
Tears gather on Bruce’s lashes and he tells her everything will be alright because now they can finally be together as a family. Once more, she refuses. She tells him Damian and his boys are far too precious for her to bring the danger of the league of assassins to their door. Bruce closes his eyes in sorrow, but nods his acceptance. He asks her to at least stay the night together. They fall asleep wrapped in each other’s arms with their baby boy safely bundled between them. Talia is gone when he wakes.
☆彡
It’s been one week since Talia left and, while still beyond upset, Bruce feels like he’s starting to have a decent handle on things. He is sitting with his boys at the breakfast table, Dick and Jason to his left, Tim to his right, Damian in his arms, and Alfred across from him. They’re finally able to have a relaxing breakfast. No babies crying, no food fights, no arguing, just the sounds of eating and gentle chatter.
He feels a small hand grab his right sleeve and give a gentle tug.
“Boo?” Tim asks, quietly. Bruce feels his heart warm at his son finally feeling like he can speak up without permission.
“Yes, sweetheart?”
“Why isn’t Big Sister sitting with us?”
Alfred is the only person in the room other than Tim to not startle at the sudden appearance of a 5 year old girl standing next to Bruce at the dining table. He simply sighs, stands up, and grabs another place setting for her at the table.
#to this day nobody knows how Cass got there#but Tim says she came with baby so they assume she hitched a ride with Talia somehow#notice how I /very discreetly/ made it so Jason knows Catherine isn’t his birth mom?#Bruce communicates with him when he’s older that if he ever wants to find his bio mom he will help him and they can do it together ❤️#No dead robins for me🧍🏼♂️#Sorry Duke but it’s because I love you that I’m allowing you to stay with your parents 🫶#IM SORRY DICK I WROTE YOUR PART BEFORE I HAD ANY REAL CREATIVITY AND NOW ITS ALL DRIED UP#I LOVE U BB BUT UR STUCK WITH TWO SUCKY PARAGRAPHS ✌️#also? 𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐀 𝐖𝐈𝐒𝐇 ☆彡 | 𝐌 - 𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐎𝐋𝐎
୨ৎ - 𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐬 | In which Matt has one wish for his birthday
୨ৎ — 𝐂𝐖. None!
♡︎- ℳ𝒾𝓂𝒾’𝓈 𝓃ℴ𝓉ℯ𝓈 - Happy birthday to my favourite boy in the whole entire world (short Drabble)

Matt’s nose glimmers with a soft glow of candle light, the warm hue glowing into his blue eyes as he nips at his bottom lip. Twenty one. It seemed fake, impossible that he had really grown up so damn fast. A gentle hand kneaded the back on his neck with affection, curling the hairs at the base of his neck around her finger as he let out a sigh. That also seemed fake, her.
“Make’ a wish, baby?” She spoke, Matt’s eyes flicking upward to hers. Beautiful. Hair’s framed her jaw so sweetly, a smile on her kissable lips as she tilted her head down at him with a nurturing expression. With a little shake of the head, Matt flicked his gaze back to the candle lit cake. Ice cream slowly melted off the sides, dribbling onto the cardboard underneath as he waited his wish out. “Think of something you really love, hm?” Something he really loved?
Matt slowly lifted his gaze, eyes sliding across the table, realizing all he could ever want was around him. Marylou cheesed at him from across the table, hand in hand with Matt’s father’s as the two gazed at their son with such pride. Nick had a lazy smile on his lips as he leaned back in his chair, Chris’s head resting on the eldest triplet’s shoulder, a smear of buttercream frosting on the tip of his nose from when he blew out the candles to his cake. Nick couldn’t help himself.
Then her, Matt tipped his jaw up and met eyes with her. Butterflies fluttered in his belly as she brought a hand to his cheek, cupping the right side of his jaw delicately, thumb circling the soft skin as she hummed ever so softly. “Make a wish.” She murmured, leaning down and placing a chaste kiss on his forehead before pulling away. And he did, a warm aroma of frosting and his girlfriend’s perfume engulfing his nostrils as he leaned forward.
Pursing his lips for a moment, just before Matt’s eyes lulled shut as he blew out a light stream of air. Woosh, fire flowed off into a gusts of smoke, a comforting burning smell flooding his nose as he felt his shoulders fall. Claps were shared around the table, bubbly praises as Matt felt his lips twitch. My wish. Heart heavy with warmth as he brought a hand to his chest, pressing his palm into the fabric of his T-shirt as he concealed emotions that were far too sad to show. “Good job, baby.” The girl chuckled, the sound a beautiful melody to Matt’s ears.
As Jimmy leaned an arm across the table, everyone’s voice taking over the couples ears as Matt threaded a hand through his brown locks sheepishly. He felt .. weird. Though the attention wasn’t necessarily on him, he could actually feel the warmth and presence of everyone’s love. For him. A gentle weight was placed on his shoulder as he looked up, her hand on the boy’s shoulder as she laughed, looking around and talking to his family.
The room was dark apart from a soft illumination of a tea candle that sat aside the cake, the same cake he mentioned months prior to the special day that was his. She remembered. “Hey,” snapping from his daze, the girl glimpsed at him with concern. “what’s wrong?” Baby.
Cooing lightly, a hand lifted to brush his hair back as he stood upright from his seat. “Nothing, nothing-I’m fine.” Matt breathed out, leaning into her touch as his eyes fluttered shut. The girl watched as his eyelashes fell against the skin of his cheeks, resting his head on her open hand as she got impossibly closer to the perfectly emotional triplet. He was hers. “Then why are you crying?” A lone tear trickled down from the corner of his eyes, the blue abyss’s glazed over with wetness as he allowed them to escape.
“I’m not.” He mumbles, sniffing as he brushed his knuckles across the wetness under his eye. Laughing softly, both hands cupped his cheeks in a gentle manner. “No?” The girl mused, Matt letting out a little laugh at her tone, sniffling, “M’just happy.” So fucking happy.
Humming, she pecked his nose once. “Why the tears then?” She murmured against the now pink skin, resting her forehead against his as the two gazed into each other’s eyes. Matt brought a hand to her neck, gripping the side gently as he rubbed the soft dewy skin with adoration. “Just’ feel lucky.” He uttered, seeing her eyes glitter with shyness as he leaned in, littering kisses and nips to the side of her neck. “So fuckin’ lucky.” Matt mumbled in between pecks, voice coming out hushed.

Summer break, that one month of the year you weren't too busy with uni exams and could actually come back home to your parents, your personal ambitions and their desire to see you succeed in life taking you away from them for the purpose of higher education, which they couldn't afford for themselves. Plus, your family always spent summer differently. No lavish beaches or fancy trips to the ocean, but up in the mountains in your cabin, relaxing away from the suffocating heat of the cities, hiking or simply lounging at home.
Your mum and dad, as always, had missed you dearly. You were their pride and joy, their little girl away on the other side of the country, studying to make a name for herself someday. It was only your first year, and you had visited often, of course, but it's hard to not miss your family, adjusting to adulthood and your newfound independence.
This summer, though, your dad had a surprise: Simon Riley. Your dad's colleague, a Lieutenant just like him, but in different divisions. You were familiar with Mr. Riley, his brown eyes had met yours for the first time at a winter ball two years ago, a few weeks after your 18th birthday. He had been a true gentleman that night, a kind heart hiding beneath the ink and the scars marring his skin. You two had chatted all night, and had even shared a cigarette by the fire exit, sneaking behind your father's back.
You'd had a flute of champagne too many, so you didn't remember about the fire burning in Mr. Riley's gaze, watching you huff out the smoke into the cold night, wearing his heavy jacket around your shoulders, your beautiful body clad in that breathtaking dress peeking under it. He knew he shouldn't have felt this way about a fellow comrade's daughter, almost 20 years her junior, but he simply couldn't help it.
So there you were, two years later, looking as beautiful as you did that night. Your hair was a little shorter, big glasses sitting on the bridge of your nose, and he noticed how your face was growing more and more into its adult features, your sweet cherub cheeks looking a little more hollow, but you were still mesmerising. "Simon will spend a week here with us," your father had said. "He's going to leave for his well-deserved vacation from an airport very close to here so I offered him to stay with us for a while before I took him to catch his plane. So be on your best behaviour, alright, y/n? Don't bother Simon too much." And so, you promised to be a good girl.
The first two days, you and Simon didn't talk much, most conversation happening when your parents were also present, usually over meals, and only soft-spoken greetings were shared when your paths crossed during the silent hours of the night. You were usually reading until sunrise, while Simon simply didn't sleep at all, insomnia being his only loyal companion. The third day, you hastily walked past him on the way to your bedroom from the bathroom, damp hair cascading over your shoulders, droplets of body falling onto the wooden floorboards. He used the shower right after you, cursing himself mentally as he pumped his cock angrily under the cold spray of water, thoughts of your wet, naked body under that pink towel haunting his mind.
The fourth day, you had slept in while your parents had left for their morning hike, until a sudden storm hit, a lightning striking very close to the cabin, the thunder shaking the cabin, and you with it. Rubbing the grogginess off your heavy eyelids, you walked into an empty kitchen, apart from Simon sitting at the table, cradling a cup of tea in one hand and some book in the other. "Hey," you called out, yawning. "There's a pretty bad storm outside, do you know where my parents are?"
"Called ten minutes ago from the shelter, a pretty big tree fell onto the trail and now they have to wait 'til the storm calms and someone comes to move it. Could take all day." He hadn't peeled his eyes off the pages as he talked, but he was pretty damn grateful he did when he finally took a look at you. Hair falling over one shoulder in a messy braid, a skimpy tank top and matching short shorts that barely contained your curves, and Simon had barely any control over his filthy imagination right now. Your glasses stood on your nose a little crooked as you simply hummed, eyes still half-lidded as you approached the counter.
"Coffee? Tea?" Simon asked, the chair scraping over the floorboards as he got up. "You look in no condition to be handling fire or kitchen utensils right now, doll." The pet name had slipped past his lips a little too easily, but you were too dazed to notice. "M'yeah," you groaned, yawning again as you sat down at the table. "Coffee, pretty please." Simon nodded, immediately getting to work. He'd noticed you drank some sort of latte with vegetable milk - or something like that, he was no expert - and a dash of vanilla syrup. In just a handful of days, he had your routine memorised.
Your eyes snapped open, suddenly more attentive as Simon placed the drink in front of you, your oat latte sitting into your favourite glass, and he'd got it down to the cute little glass straw you used. Of course he knew, he hadn't been able to shake away the thought of your lips wrapped around his fat cock when they closed in on the straw. "This...thank you." you said, stirring your latte as you tried to hide your puzzled expression. "I observe people for a living, and I'm often trusted to remember and withhold a lot of important details," he explained casually, taking his seat back at the table. "It's merely a habit to learn the small things about the people I'm with."
He knew this was wrong, stealing glances from behind the pages of his book as you had your back turned to him, washing the dishes. He wondered if you knew that the contour of one of your asscheeks was faintly peeking from underneath those little shorts, the line of your waist hugged by your tank top, the braid falling over your shoulder leaving your delicious-looking neck exposed. He knew he shouldn't have gotten up from his chair again, his arm grazing your lower back as he reached for the cigarettes on the counter. He shouldn't have asked "Want one? Your parents are out anyway", and you totally shouldn't have said "yes".
You opened the window in the kitchen, just a crack to let the smoke out, but the raging storm and howling wind outside still made you shiver, hugging your arms close to your chest as you smoked. Simon noticed, of course, and balanced his cigarette on the rim of the plastic cup you were using as a makeshift ashtray, walking to the guest room to fetch a sweatshirt for you. You murmured a sweet "thank you", doing the same thing he did with his cigarette as you slid it over your shoulders, exposing a bit of your stomach as you flexed your arms, and he inwardly missed being able to peek at your cleavage. Still, just like that night at the ball, the sight of you in his clothes stirred something in him- something primal.
"How's that place for nerds you're going to, anyway? Your dad couldn't stop chewing my bloody ear off about you moving out for two whole months." You scoffed, huffing out a faint grey cloud. "I 'spose it's alright," you shrugged. "People are nice, I really like the environment and I'm pleased with what I've studied and of my results so far." Simon hummed, cradling the white stick between his long fingers. "Bet you got a line of boys, eh?" He asked, hoping you wouldn't notice his sneaky attempt at figuring if you had a boyfriend or not. "Nope, no such thing," you replied truthfully. "Wanted to focus on my studies, and it took a lot more time than I had expected to get adjusted to the new lifestyle." You tossed the cigarette into the plastic cup, making a faint sizzling sound as it fell into the water you had filled the bottom with. "Plus, half the guys there look like they don't know what a girl looks like."
Simon mirrored your action, casually leaning with his hip against the counter, watching you basically drown in his sweatshirt. "Ain't that right." He mused, his voice a borderline growl as he shamelessly let his eyes rake over your body. "I'm sure they wouldn't know what to do with you if you gave them the chance." Your eyes snapped up at him, your heart stuttering in your chest, his words and the sultry tone he used stirring something unfamiliar down in your belly. You awkwardly tried to laugh it off. "I mean," you chuckled. "I barely even kissed anybody, that lame, pseudo French kiss Sam from History class gave me when I was 17 was the most romance I had in my life."
His gaze darkened at the revelation, your purity making him feel even more guilty about his thoughts, but it was like you had poured straight gasoline onto an open flame, and now all Simon wanted to do was to ruin you. "Boys don't know a bloody thing about a woman's body," he scoffed, taking a small, almost imperceptible step towards you. "Their brain is rotten, blinded by those sad porn videos they watched, and all they can do is pathetically hump their sad dicks in their sad hands." You giggled, bringing a hand over your mouth. When you closed your eyes for a split second as you laughed, he moved closer.
"So you're saying I won't have any luck within the dating pool my university offers?" You asked, an amused glint in your gaze as you smiled up at him. "I'm saying only a man could handle you the way you need to be handled, y/n." The softness was gone from his voice, replaced by something feral, a look you'd never noticed before in his eyes, since he'd only reserved it to himself when you were looking away. By now, his imposing frame was caging you to the counter, basically forcing you to sit onto the cold granite.
You were speechless, doe-eyed gaze and parted lips, shiny with saliva, trembling with shuddering breaths. "You're like a fragile little dove now," he explained, his voice so low it rumbled in his chest. He lifted a hand to your face, rugged skin grazing your soft cheek as he tucked a loose strand of hair behind your ear. "But as soon as someone starts something as small as a spark, the fire will ignite and you'll burn uncontrollably. It takes an expert to tame a fire like that, y/n-" he leaned closer until his lips hovered only a breath above yours. "And I've been dreaming about being the one to tame you since the night I met you."
Your breath hitched, the hand cradling your face now slowly sliding down your neck, his thumb tracing the column of your throat, feeling your raging pulse resting beneath the sensitive flesh. Your mouth went suddenly dry, and you were at a complete loss for words. This man, your dad's colleague and trusted friend, had been lusting after you for nearly two years, after seeing you only once. You couldn't lie, Simon Riley held a certain charm to himself that you couldn't quite ignore. The silver scar that ran over his top lip, his slightly crooked nose, the bulging muscles that hid underneath those fitted t-shirts he always wore. Plus, how couldn't you be intrigued by the fantasy of being with a real man, someone who knows how to touch you, who would put your pleasure first, and willing to teach you how to please.
"Get on your knees, y/n." A shiver ran down your spine. "Yes, sir." You readily replied, your knees finding the rough wooden floorboards of the cabin. You moved to take off your glasses, but Simon clicked his tongue. Glasses stay on, sweetheart. I want you to be able to see my face clearly when I'm deep inside your mouth." You gulped again at his words, your eyes following his every movement as he hooked his thumbs into the waistband of his grey sweatpants, pulling down his boxer briefs along with them. If you hadn't moved your head, you were sure his dick would've hit you square in the face when it sprung out, looking painfully hard, pink-reddish tip oozing pearlescent precum.
Your mouth fell agape, eliciting an amused chuckle. "Just like that, y/n. Didn't think you would pick up on that so fast." You didn't even catch his teasing words, transfixed on the sheer size of him. A bulging vein cut down his whole length, his blonde pubes shaved, balls heavily hanging below. You gingerly raised your hand, your slim fingers encircling his shaft, making him groan. "That's it, good girl. That's how you hold it." You looked up at him from behind your glasses, his tip only an inch away from your lips. "Take it in your mouth now. Don't worry, it doesn't bite, but you gotta be careful not to bite it, doll."
Slowly, you brought his dick to your mouth, wrapping your lips around the tip, your tongue collecting the bead of precum from his slit. Simon released an animalistic grunt, unable to hold back now that he had you. A large hand curved around the back of your head, pushing you down. You coughed, gurgling and almost gagging at the sudden movement, but Simon held you in place. "Breathe with your nose, y/n, or else you'll choke," he instructed, his voice strained at the feel of your mouth around his cock- it was divine. "Relax your pretty throat and- good girl..." You learned fast, mainly out of survival instinct, welcoming him down your relaxed throat until his shaved pubes tickled the tip of your nose.
Being the lonely man that he was, Simon hadn't been with a woman for some time now, and certainly he hadn't been with forbidden fruit like you, angelic-looking and pure, gazing up at him with big eyes and flushed cheeks, already taking all eight inches in your mouth. He couldn't control his orgasm, a long groan arising from his throat as he came, unsheathing himself as he shot hot ropes of thick cum over your face, the lenses of your glasses now covered in white goo. His cum left a tangy, slightly salty taste on your tongue, and you were still debating whether you liked it or not. "Sorry, doll," Simon apologised, the gentleness back in his voice as he took your glasses off, placing them onto the counter. "I hope you can forgive an old man after being alone for some time. Plus, it's not everyday you meet a fast learner as good as you."
You smiled bashfully as he helped you back on your feet, your knees feeling slightly sore and itchy, covered in small scratches from being on the floor. You thought Simon was done, but you were oh so wrong when he suddenly picked you up, hand secured under your thighs as he moved you onto the table. "Told you you only needed a little spark." He murmured, before he claimed your lips into a feverish kiss, nothing like Sam from History. He tasted himself on your tongue, his cock ready for round two, twitching impatiently between the two of you. He groaned, his hand snaking down your body, his forefinger stroking your needy cunt through your shorts. "S-Simon..."
"Shit, y/n, you're fucking soaked," he said, his brown orbs gazing down at you, dark with lust. "Just from sucking my cock, you're already a mess." Your face was glowing red like a tomato, your hand wrapping around his thick forearm as he tried to reach for your shorts. "Easy, doll. I'll be gentle." He whispered, kissing the crown of your head as you loosened your grip. "Won't it hurt?" You asked meekly, nervously chewing on your bottom lip. "I'll make sure to make you love it."
You let Simon undress you, trusting him with your all - literally - as fabric gave way to skin, exposing your whole body to him. To him, you were the most beautiful thing he's ever seen, lands of smooth skin, the roundness of your breasts, the mouth-watering line of your waist, and those creamy thighs he couldn't wait to have wrapped around him. His sweatpants pooled at his ankles, his military green t-shirt lying on the floor next to them. He coaxed your thighs apart salivating at the sight of your slick arousal coating your folds. Simon made you lie back onto the table, his strong arms holding you in place, long fingers holding onto your hips as he feasted on your soaked pussy like a man starved.
Your sweet, sweet sound filled the kitchen, the unfamiliar stimulation making you see stars. You were mewling, his flat tongue lapping at your juices before it circled and suckled on your sensitive clit, coaxing the best noises he'd ever heard. When you were relaxed enough, he pushed in a digit, slowly stretching your weeping hole, preparing it to accommodate his fat cock, throbbing uncontrollably as your whimpers reached his ears. Your entrance was drenched, a second digit swiftly following, his fingers slowly pumping inside you with minimal resistance, just a few grimaces of discomfort making your nose wrinkle before he soothed the ache by stimulating your clit. It wasn't long before you came too, the heat pooling in your belly unravelling so fast you didn't even know your orgasm had hit until you were a squirmin mess, Simon's name falling from your lips like a prayer, your thighs squeezing his head so tight he thought he would've gladly died between your legs, the last flavour on his tongue being your cum.
He straightened his back, his lips and chin glistening with your release, a proud grin on his lips. "You taste so fucking good, y/n. Fuck, i could probably eat you for hours." He said, looking down at your figure splayed onto the table, still out of breath as you came down from your first high. You couldn't even process what had happened when Simon pulled your hips closer to the edge of the table, his tip teasing your needy entrance, collecting some of your recent release to decrease any uncomfortable friction. He also brought his hand to his mouth, spitting on his palm before he spreaded it onto his length. "Please, Simon, please..." you pleaded, biting down on your lip as you looked up at him, propped up on one elbow as he effortlessly held your legs up. "Be gentle."
"You don't have to worry, doll," he reassured you once again. "You've been so good up to now, I'm sure you'll be able to handle this as well, okay? Do you trust me, y/n?" You nodded, and that was all the confirmation he needed to push the first three inches inside. You cried out, your hands holding onto the edge of the table with a white-knuckled grip. "Shh, shh, shh," he shushed you as you arched your back, your chest heaving with heavy breaths as you adjusted to the stretch. "That's it, good girl. I'm almost halfway inside, see?" You tried to look down, seeing the way your folds were wrapped around his girthy cock, your gummy walls twitching, as if they wanted - needed - to suck him deeper inside.
You took a deep breath, focusing on releasing the pressure between your hips as Simon slid in with another two inches, and then another before he bottomed out. His balls rested against your ass, and if he's not quick to compose himself, he would've come already. Your tight pussy was squeezing him impossibly tight, and it took everything in him to not start railing you like a savage, instead leaving you some time to get acquainted to the feeling of fullness inside your body. "Y-You...you can move now, Simon." You squeaked, giving him a nod of reassurance. Probably shouldn't have done that, love.
Simon began to move his hips, picking up the pace as the volume of your moans increased. Your nails clawed at his back, your legs tight around his waist as he held you close to his chest, his hungry cock pumping into your cunt so fast you felt drunk on it. "S-Simon...Simon!" You called out, hot tears of pleasure lining your eyes. "Fuck...that's it, that's a fucking good girl, y/n, you're taking my cock so good...so fucking good." The way he was groaning in your ear was making the same kind of heat stir in your lower abdomen, his praises making your self-esteem spike up.
He was fucking his friend's only daughter, fucking her stupid on the same table they all ate every meal at, marking her as his own; the rush was unmatched. He cupped one of your breasts, kneading the soft flesh as his lips latched onto your erect nub. You arched into him, tipping your head back as you let yourself fall deadweight, trusting Simon's strong arm, wrapped around your waist, to hold you up; and he did. "Come on, y/n, be a good girl for me and cum one more time," he murmured, his teeth gently taking your nipple, never applying pressure. "Cum on my fucking cock, y/n, I wanna feel your cunt choke my cock and milk it dry."
His filthy words were once again your undoing, his pubes tickling your clit every time his hips collided with yours also speeding up the process, and you came again, your orgasm hitting harder than the first. It was like a wave that wrecked you, from your core then up your spine, leaving your body spasming and gasping for air as you screamed out Simon's name. You clenched around him so tight he simply couldn't pull out, a twisted need to brand you as his making him spill himself inside you, hips stuttering as a very strong orgasm hit him as well.
They should've hung it in a museum, really, the image of his cum leaking from your whole onto the table, and he felt like the whole action was borderline blasphemous, as if he had tainted the doors of Heaven. He dampened a couple of kitchen towels with some lukewarm water and cleaned you up, sliding his sweatshirt back over your head before he scooped you up in his arms and brought you back to your room, tucking you in under the covers.
He left a chaste kiss on your forehead, but he did not climb into bed with you. He never would've. He was a horrible man, who had done horrible, unspeakable things, and he had just ruined the sweetest girl, the only good flower left in his garden now wilting right before his very own eyes. He wouldn't have spoken about this ever again, he wouldn't have looked at you if you happened to stumble into base again, wouldn't have called, or asked about your life again. But he was sure about one thing: he had marked you as his, and no one would've been able to tame your fire like he did that day.

LGBTQ+ Japanese Media for Pride Month
Happy pride month! There's no better time to read and watch queer media than June. I tend to read and watch mostly queer content, so I thought I'd drop some things that I've enjoyed over the years for those looking for something that they maybe haven't picked up before. Since lots of Japanese media tends to have multiple versions and adaptations, I'll be organizing this by representation rather than type of media. The version(s) that I've personally seen or read will be bolded. This will also be a little bit different from my usual Japanese media recommendation posts, as I will also be including media that I've read in English or watched with English subtitles. This is also an invitation for anyone to recommend things to me, especially ones that have LGBT rep outside of just gay and lesbian characters. I'm always looking for more stuff to enjoy!
MLM
同級生/Classmates (manga/anime movie): Two seemingly opposite boys meet during the choir festival at their all boys' school and develop a relationship. How could this not be the very first thing I recommend? This is one of my all time favorite BL series and one of my favorite movies as well. Seriously, I watch this at least three times per year (once being during June!). Nakamura Asumiko is one of my favorite manga artists, and this won't be the last series of hers on this list.
ひだまりが聴こえる/I Hear the Sunspot (manga/movie): This follows a college student who agrees to become the designated note taker for a deaf classmate. I love this series and one of my favorite things about it is how much the romance takes a backseat to other things happening in the characters lives. It also has a large cast of deaf characters! If you're looking for something with representation outside of only LGBT and doesn't focus too much on romance, this is a really great choice.
30歳まで童貞だと魔法使いになれるらしい/Cherry Magic! 30 Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard (manga/drama/anime): After waking up on his thirtieth birthday, a businessman discovers that he has gained the ability to read minds. And with that, he discovers that his male coworker has a crush on him. For such a zany concept, this series is very cute and sweet. It's also always nice to see something that follows older characters (ie. not high school or college).
美しい彼/My Beautiful Man (novel/drama/manga): This follows a social outcast who ends up falling in love with a boy in the friend group of his high school bullies. This isn't a sweet and heartwarming romance at all, but it's also not pure toxicity. The drama is extremely bingeable and the author is a juggernaut in the BL light novel community for a reason.
消えた初恋/My Love Mix Up (manga/drama): Due to an eraser mishap, a boy admits to having feelings for another boy in order to save his actual crush from embarrassment. This series is The Blueprint for me in terms of romcoms. It does everything right for me and the characters especially stand out. It covers topics from discovering your identity and first love to dealing with homophobia and it does it all spectacularly. I also think that the manga does visual humor extremely well.
スリーピングデッド/Sleeping Dead (manga): After being stabbed to death on a routine patrol, a popular high school teacher wakes up on a metal table. I have no words [words]. This is definitely up there in my favorites, I love it so much. If you like queer horror, this is definitely one you need to pick up. I also found it very funny and the characters were extremely charming.
僕らの地球の歩き方/Our Not-So-Lonely Planet Travel Guide (manga): A couple decides to travel the world together, promising that they'll get married upon their return to Japan. Probably my all time favorite manga ever. I love every single thing about this, especially how much this series loves the queer community. This manga is overflowing with love in all ways, and I'm overflowing with love for this manga.
きのう何食べた?/What Did You Eat Yesterday? (manga/drama): This series is basically just snippets of a gay man's daily life. He likes to cook. And you know what? It's all the better for it. This series is award winning and such a great time. The main character is so relatable and it covers some great LGBT+ topics. Honestly, it's a crime that I haven't seen the drama yet.
WLW
独り舞/Solo Dance (novel): After a violent encounter, a Taiwanese woman makes the choice to move to Japan. When reading this, I saw it mention Qiu Miaojin's Notes of a Crocodile, which I had just bought, and now that I've finally read it, I can easily see the influences that Qiu's works had on this one. This is a tough book to get through emotionally, but ultimately a worthwhile read, especially if you're looking for something more on the literary side.
ささやくように恋を唄う/Whisper Me a Love Song (manga/anime): A girl confesses to an upperclassman that she loves her music, but the upperclassman misunderstands it as a true confession of love. I adore this series and the relationships in it. It has a huge cast of female characters and also has a driving plot outside of just the romance. I'm a sucker for series about music and this one is one of my favorites.
あさがおと加瀬さん/Kase San and Morning Glories (manga/anime movie): A shy gardener and a popular track star become friends and begin dating. This series is so cute! It feels like a GL staple to me and is one I've been following for practically as long as I've been reading manga in Japanese. It also has a sequel series called 山田と加瀬さん/Yamada and Kase San which follows the two of them after high school.
メジロバナの咲く/A White Rose in Bloom (manga): After not being able to go home for Christmas, a girl is stuck in her boarding school with one other student, who seems to not like her. This is another one by Nakamura Asumiko and there's something about her writing which always sucks me in. I can't get enough of this series, it has wonderful vibes, impeccable art, and I just want more and more of the characters.
欠けた月とドーナッツ/Donuts Under a Crescent Moon (manga): This series is a slice of life following two coworkers and their growing relationship. It's very slow burn and puts a lot more emphasis on the feelings of coming into and realizing your sexuality as an adult and dealing with compulsory heterosexuality. I really loved this series and how it focused on issues surrounding but not directly related to the central romance.
気になってる人が男じゃなかった/The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy At All (manga): A girl develops a crush on a worker at a music store after bonding over their shared love of music. Little does she know, he's actually the girl who sits next to her in class. This manga has taken the world by storm to the point of having a collaboration with Nirvana, and let me tell you it deserves every bit of hype you've heard about it. The art and characters are both stunning and is absolutely worth the read.
ハロー、メランコリック!/Hello, Melancholic! (manga): A talented trombonist enters a high school without a wind band, but is scouted anyway by a drummer looking for a new member to join her combo band. This is another one where the romance takes a backseat to other stuff in the plot, can you tell that I love that sort of thing? I also really loved the ways they talked about music in here, and I could definitely relate to it as a musician myself. Apparently, all the chapter titles are songs as well.
さよならローズガーデン/Goodbye, My Rose Garden (manga): A young woman moves from Japan to England to find her favorite author and is hired on as a maid. Her boss agrees to help her find this author so long as she agrees to help her with a grisly task. This is another really lovely series with gorgeous art. Set in the Victorian era, this does have some time period appropriate homophobia but overall it didn't strike me as a very dark manga.
Transgender
彼らが本気で編むときは、/Close Knit (movie): A young girl goes to live with her uncle and his transgender girlfriend. This movie is so sweet and cute! I watched it a couple years back now, but I feel like a lot of specific scenes have stuck with me. This is definitely a good heartwarming Pride month movie night candidate.
不可解なぼくのすべてを/Love Me For Who I Am (manga): A nonbinary teen is offered a job at a crossdressing cafe run by a classmate's family. Although this series has a cast with multiple LGBT identities, I chose to include it here because the main theme seems to revolve around gender. I do recommend this series if you're looking for a cute and sweet story about gender issues, but I did have some hesitations about the way lesbians are portrayed in this manga.
ボーイミーツマリア/Boy Meets Maria (manga): A boy who dreams of being an actor falls in love at first sight with a girl he sees dancing in his high school entrance ceremony, only to later find that she is actually a boy in his class. I feel like I always need to preface any recommendation for this manga by saying that a lot of people took issue with the way certain things and tropes are handled in this regarding being transgender. I personally didn't find it transphobic but I'm also just one person and can't speak for every nonbinary person out there. Regardless, I really enjoyed this. Be aware of trigger warnings when going into this one, it gets extremely graphic.
ボーイズ・ラン・ザ・ライオット/Boys Run the Riot (manga): Two high school boys bond over their shared love of fashion and start a brand together. I read this one a while back and never ended up finishing it but I do remember enjoying what I read! It's also by a transgender mangaka!
放浪息子/Wandering Son (manga/anime): This is a slice of life coming of age series that follows a middle school friend group revolving around two transgender friends. It's more of a slow paced series and a little bit on the more depressing side. The anime is also award winning and the manga was nominated!
星合の空/Stars Align (anime): This is a sports anime about a middle school boys' soft tennis team. I always hesitate to recommend this one because it was greenlit for a twenty four episode anime then cut down to twelve episodes during production. Rather than condense the story, the creator chose to animate only the first half of the series, so it's perpetually unfinished. Despite that, I still think it was a really wonderful anime and I would really love to see the rest of it one day because so much good stuff was set up!
Other/Multiple
しまなみ誰そ彼/Our Dreams at Dusk (manga): A gay teen is about to commit suicide after being outed to his classmates but sees a mysterious person jump from a balcony, which then leads him to a drop in center for LGBT people. I cannot say enough good things about this manga, it is phenomenal and is always my go-to for anyone looking for queer manga. It's heartfelt and beautiful and written by another one of my favorite mangaka, Kamatani Yuhki, who also happens to be X gender!
ヒラエスは旅路の果て/Hiraeth: The End of the Journey (manga): After the death of her best friend, a young girl decides to join a forgotten god and an immortal man on their journey to find death. Another Kamatani manga! This manga deals more with grief and mortality rather than queer identities, but if you want something with casually queer characters, this one is worth picking up. Also, this is one of only two manga to ever make me cry, and boy did I ugly cry at this one.
恋せぬふたり/Two People Who Can't Fall in Love (drama): Though I haven't watched this one, it's been on my radar for quite a while and I've heard so many good things. It's also harder to find series that have explicit aroace representation. This is about a woman who feels ostracized by her lack of romantic interest in anyone around her until she finds a blog about asexuality.
わたしは壁になりたい/I Want to Be a Wall (manga): This series is a marriage of convenience plot between an asexual BL fangirl and a gay man who never got over his childhood crush. I loved the relationship between the two characters and the depiction of a nontraditional family that still has love within it, even if it's not romantic.
Bonus- Music
I'm not one to look much in to the person behind the music, so I often don't know much about band members or singers of the music I listen to. However, there are two wonderful transgender artists that I listen to regularly in Japanese and couldn't pass up the opportunity to share their works with the world! Nakamura Ataru is a pop singer who also takes inspiration from traditional Japanese music. I love her enka styled songs such as 廃墟の森! The other artist is a bit more popular, and that's the rock band QUEEN BEE, whose lead singer is the incredibly talented Avu Chan. Avu Chan also voiced Inu Oh in one of my favorite movies, Inu Oh, which isn't (explicitly) queer, but is definitely worth watching anyways, even if just to hear Avu Chan's insane vocal abilities.
And so, those are (just a few) of my recommendations for Japanese queer reads to celebrate Pride month! If you have any recommendations for me, regardless of whether it's a movie or novel or manga or other, I would love to hear them!
#langblr#studyblr#benkyou posting#language learning#polyglot#anime#manga#lgbtqia#pride month#queer#sorry for overtagging but I WORKED HARD ON THIS#also yes i mostly read manga out of like. everything#so thats whats at the forefront of my mind#also im so sorry to many other series that i loved and couldnt add#heres to another year of reading a fuck ton of queer mangaね

Speed Running SFW Alphabet - OP Boys Headcanons Pt 2.
Splitting the previous post because it was getting way too long.
Featuring: Cross guild members! Mihawk, Buggy, Crocodile.
Mihawk:
C for Cuddling - He doesn't really do/initiate cuddling. However! He doesn't mind if you're the one cuddling. Snuggling into his side while sitting together on the couch? Yes. Completely stuck close to you when asleep in bed? Absolutely!
G for Gifts - He's an average gift giver. He'll give you small things or especially fancy meals for holidays, birthdays, and special occasions. One thing to note, he ALWAYS gets you something you either really wanted to get or something you really needed.
U for Upset (angry) - He handles you being upset with a straight face, which often just makes you more upset. Despite this, the first thing he'll try to do is talk things out with you, before asking if you'd prefer to have some space.
V for Vaunt - He doesn't verbally brag about you to others, but he certainly does to you. He'll casually tell you every single thing about you he loves or finds impressive. His way of showing you off to others is to watch you do your thing, look at the other person, then gesture at you while nodding like saying 'see that? awesome.'
W for warrior - He's more of a lone fighter, and will often tell you that though he appreciates it, he doesn't necessarily need your help to fight. The times that you insist and do it anyway, he'll just smirk to himself while he fills with pride, and fight back to back with you.
T for Time - It took about a month for him to fully fall for you, and by month two he actually did something about it. So it wasn't really until three months in that you ended up dating.
R for Rhythm - Too Sweet for Me by Hozier
L for Love (language) - Acts of service is his main way of showing he loves you. He really enjoys doing things for you and taking care of you. He also enjoys spending quality time with you. Nothing puts him at ease like sitting in comfortable silence, reading a book beside you.
Buggy:
C for Cuddling - He adores cuddling but never admits that's what he does. He'll throw himself into your side or wrap himself around you and pretend it's because he just wants to lean on you, but it takes less than a minute for the leaning to turn into snuggling for him. He cuddles like a cat, big spoon, small spoon, face to face, doesn't matter. Just wants to be with you.
G for Gifts - He'll give you gifts for every gift giving occasion and also when you're feeling down to try and comfort you. He tries, and fails, to look casual about it but he secretly is very excited to see if you like the things he gets you.
U for Upset (angry) - You don't often get upset with him, so when you are he gets fairly surprised. Most of the time he'll try to argue back for a bit first but he always apologizes and immediately tries to work things out with you. He doesn't like it at all when you're upset with him, and half the time he gets upset back at you because he's upset that you're upset.
V for Vaunt - Oh he brags. He brags to everybody. Literally anyone who will listen. You'll be walking, holding hands, and he'll lean over to a nearby person and go 'that's my partner' with a smug grin. He's especially proud of your skills but his favorite thing to boast about is your laugh and smile.
W for Warrior - Fighting side by side with you is like a dance for him. He never feels more in synch with you than when you're fighting together.
T for Time - About four to five months. Mostly because it took time for you to adjust to the life he lives (and his massive, protective entourage), and for him to muster up the courage to say something. He didn't really believe that you liked him at first and it took some time to really let it sink in.
R for Rhythm - Hot To Go by Chappell Roan
L for Love (language) - He mostly shows his love for you through physical touch and words of affirmation. The amount of hugs from behind that he disguises as invading your space for fun and giggles is astronomical. Also he won't say much sentimental things up front, but when he does, it's some of the most romantic stuff you've ever heard come out of anyone's mouth ever. He denies having said anything after the fact though.
Crocodile:
C for Cuddling - His cuddling consists of having you in his arms or on his lap. He doesn't care about height or size, his arm is around you or you are basically plastered against him when it's time to cuddle (which is more often than you thought it would be).
G for Gifts - Too many. All the time. That's it. you need to stage an intervention with him at some point, it's getting ridiculous.
U for Upset (angry) - He won't lie, he finds it incredibly attractive when you get angry at him. He won't tell you that though, and he'll take you seriously, but the heat in your eyes makes him feel a certain type of way. He's more likely to give in when you're upset than to fight back, he doesn't like arguing with you for a multitude of different reasons.
V for Vaunt - He flaunts you in a classy way. He'll brag about your resilience and can't help the admiration on his face when he does.
W for warrior - He'd prefer you not to fight because he doesn't like the idea of you getting your hands dirty. Especially because he himself would rather not do the dirty work, therefore he wouldn't force that upon you either. But if you have to he'd rather be back to back so he can fight and defend you, knowing you're doing the same for him.
T for Time - It took about a year for you two to end up together. Given his circumstances, it takes him a while to trust and get to know you. When he does, he tries to court you formally instead of straight up confessing, which took longer than he meant it to. But you got there in the end so it worked out!
R for Rhythm - Sway With Me by Michael Bublé
L for Love (language) - The main reason he gets you so many things, gift giving, to show his love for you is because he wants to pamper you. He hopes that you can see how much he loves you through how much he can give you with what he has. When he's not doing that, it's physical touch. Gentle touches like rubbing your shoulder where his hand rests to show how much he cherishes you.

I got a secret, I’m telling everyone - Q. Hughes
Summary: Quinn doesn’t think he’s good enough for Gianna. Gianna doesn’t think Quinn would ever like her as more than a friend. Jack has had enough of the pining.
This is my entry for Rox’s birthday bingo! I couldn’t make it a true bingo @offside-the-lines (sorry!) but I included only one bed, dancing, mutual pining, and truth or dare in this Quinn fic! I hope you like it!
Word count: 2.4k
Warnings: some bad language, angst, self-doubt, idiots to lovers
Title from Truth or Dare, by Emily Osment
~
“Hey Quinn, truth or dare.”
“Jack, we’re not 8 years old,” Quinn snorted.
“I mean, if you’re too chicken…”
Quinn rolled his eyes as Jack, Trevor, and Cole all started making chicken squawks, Turcs and Luke just giggling.
“I’m not chicken!”
“So…truth or dare?” Jack grinned.
“Fine, dare.”
“I dare you to finally tell Gianna how you feel about her. By the end of next summer.”
As the group burst into laughter, Quinn just groaned. “You can fuck right off.”
“Are you going to forfeit?”
~
Quinn wished more than anything else that he hadn’t let Jack bait him at the end of last summer. There was just something about his brother and his friends that got under his skin though, especially around Luke, and the last thing he wanted was for any of those younger guys to think he was a ‘wimp’. And he sure as hell wasn’t stupid enough to do any of their forfeits. But that dare?
It had been the bane of his year.
It was hard enough trying to drag his team into the playoffs (and thankfully succeeding, despite ultimately falling in the second round), but having any thoughts in his downtime consumed by Gianna? It was almost too much to handle.
He’d known her for years – a friend of a friend in Michigan – and right from the start he’d been head over heels. He knew he’d been obvious about it to everyone other than her, as much as he hated to admit it. Jack had caught on the quickest, happily gossiping to his NTDP buddies who always hung around in the summers, but thankfully Gianna didn’t seem to have a clue. And for the past three years, that’s exactly how he’d wanted it to stay.
To him, she was perfect. The sweetest, most golden-hearted, prettiest girl he’d ever met; any smile she sent his way never failed to fill his stomach with butterflies. Sometimes it felt like torture watching the sun shine off of her straight honey blonde hair, as it cascaded down to her waist, her baby blue eyes sparkling with laughter. Despite his Jack and Co.’s teasing, she never teased him too, even when he made an ass of himself. To him, Gianna was perfect.
And that’s exactly why he’d never been able to tell her how he felt. Why would someone like her, so far out of his league, ever be interested in him? This stupid dare from Jack had been tormenting him for 10 long months, and he hated how much it was consuming him but he couldn’t help it. And if he didn’t tell her? He’d never hear the end of it – and his pride wouldn’t handle it either. All he could hope was that his brother wouldn’t meddle. That wasn’t too much to ask for, right?
~
When Jack Hughes reached out to her last month to check on her summer plans, Gianna had been more than confused. It wasn’t that they weren’t friendly, but if she was going to talk to any of the Hughes brothers, it was always Quinn. Mostly because they were the same age, but also because while Jack usually had a bunch of his old hockey buddies visiting and Luke was doing his own thing, Quinn always made the effort to include her. What started as just being a friend of one of his local friends had developed into a genuine friendship of their own – something she treasured – and him being back from Vancouver was genuinely one of the highlights of her summers.
How could it not be? He was funny and sweet, and yet serious and caring, all at once. It was an intoxicating combination that she’d never seen in a guy her age before, let alone in one that genuinely seemed to like talking to her. It didn’t help that he was one of the most handsome guys she’d ever met either. Maybe not classically handsome, but there was just something about the way his smile lit up his whole expression that sent her heart fluttering. That, and the way he always took the time to talk to her, even when there were a lot of other people hanging around.
So Jack reaching out? Strange.
Still, she sent her commiserations for his season (gently of course) and responded to his own questions about how her job was going, before he got to the point. He was organising a welcome back/start of the summer long weekend at their cabin – Friday evening to Monday morning – and he wanted to know if she wanted to join them in the group.
For Jack to ask this specifically? Even stranger than him just reaching out.
The temptation of spending time with Quinn in a smaller group setting though? It was too good to resist, and she’d happily agreed. Jack had told her to just pack a bag of clothes and leave everything else up to him (including her transport up to the cabin), which she knew in her bones felt hinky but ultimately decided to ignore. Whatever Jack was up to, she knew he wasn’t cruel in the slightest, so for now she was happy to go along with whatever his plans were – even if one of the ‘instructions’ had been to keep it a ‘surprise’ that she was going, whatever that meant. She could only hope Quinn wouldn’t hate the surprise. That, and the hope that she wouldn’t make an ass of herself. Quinn didn’t think of her as any more than a friend, she knew that, so she had to keep her feelings under wraps.
That shouldn’t be too hard, right?
~
“Jack, what did you do?” Quinn hissed.
“Thanks for organising the welcome back start of the summer party, Jack. Thanks for inviting all the guests, Jack. Thanks for making sure that I didn’t have anything to stress about, Jack.”
Quinn just pursed his lips, raising an eyebrow, making Jack snicker.
“Look, man, you can take the floor if you’re that beat up about it. It’s one weekend – you can handle sharing a room with Gianna for three nights.”
That’s what Quinn was mad about. Jack had taken it upon himself to sort out ‘room assignments’ for the long weekend in the cabin – clearly having gotten Trevor and Cole in on it because they were refusing to help him fix it – leaving Gianna stuck in sharing a room with him. He genuinely couldn’t believe that Jack was forcing Gianna into this, giving her little choice on what to do, and didn’t know what else to do himself as the embarrassment flooded through his veins.
What the hell was Jack up to? Why was he meddling so much?
Quinn knew his brother was up to something when instead of just bringing Trevor, Turcs, and Cole with him, Gianna was sitting blissfully ignorant in the front seat of the car too. It wasn’t that Gianna was the only girl, but she was the only girl sharing a room/sofa/pull-out bed with a guy she wasn’t dating, and he hated that Jack had created this awkward situation in the first place.
How could he fix it?
“Uh, Quinn?”
Quinn snapped his head up at the sound of Gianna’s voice calling to him down the stairs, ignoring Jack and Trevor’s stupid grins (other than to punch Jack in the arm on his way past) to jog upstairs to find out what was wrong. He found her in the doorway of the room they were ‘assigned’ and it wasn’t until he poked his head over her shoulder that he remembered the one detail he really shouldn’t have forgotten.
This was his usual bedroom. With only one bed.
True, it was a queen-size bed, but it was still only one bed. No wonder Jack looked so pleased with himself. Fuck.
“Um, I am so sorry about Jack. I should’ve kicked his ass harder while we were growing up,” Quinn sighed.
Gianna let out a breathy laugh, shaking her head. “I can sleep on that bench at the foot of the bed. There’s more than enough room for me there.”
She was petite…but no, no way.
“Definitely not, I can,” Quinn said.
“Your legs will hang over the end of it,” she pointed out, smiling wryly.
He tried not to wince. That was a good point. He didn’t know what was showing on his face but it made Gianna put her hands on her hips.
“We’ll figure it out later. This is an after-bonfire-tonight Gianna-and-Quinn problem,” she said firmly.
Quinn found himself nodding in agreement, too dazed by her words to say anything useful. Giana-and-Quinn. He liked the sound of that.
~
“There’s only one bed.”
“There’s only one bed?! Gi, you have to make a move!”
“And have him completely freak out? Absolutely not.”
“Quinn will not freak out. Everyone knows that he likes you.”
“Everyone?”
“Everyone.”
“Then why hasn’t he ever said anything?”
“I think Jack is trying to kick his ass into motion.”
“Oh. Oh!”
~
This was his own personal circle of hell. Even without looking at him or hearing him, he knew Jack was laughing at him somewhere. Luke had already given up on his pathetic nature, passing him a cold beer before walking off to literally anywhere else. What was wrong? It should be a picture-perfect night – the bonfire was roaring, drinks were flowing, music was playing…and Gianna was dancing.
Not by herself of course, with the other girls. But still – she was dancing, and he was in torment.
While the other girls were trying to act all cute and coquettish (which, more power to them, it was clearly working on the other guys, whatever they intended), Gianna was just flowing to the music, eyes closed and clearly in her own world. She was mesmerising, captivating, all of the synonyms. He was completely and utterly screwed, and not in a fun way.
Jack was definitely laughing at him.
He was so lost in a trance in fact, that he missed her walking over to him, only breaking out of his thoughts when she thumped down in the chair next to him.
“Hey Quinn, you look lonely over here,” she grinned.
He felt his cheeks heat with a tell-tale blush, making her laugh. It was almost musical, totally unfair, and as usual she was leaving him tongue tied.
“Is everything okay?” she asked, tilting her head slightly.
“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine. Just getting some peace and quiet,” he managed to blurt out.
Her smile dimmed slightly before returning in full force. “I won’t disturb you any more then.”
Fuck, damn it, no!
“You’re not disturbing me,” he said quickly, shaking his head, “Adding to the peace, if anything.”
Was that desperate? It sounded desperate.
But Gianna just laughed again, settling back into her chair. He didn’t know if it was a trick of the light but the relief that flooded his body seemed to be reflected in her face. She was glad she wasn’t disturbing him?
“Your brother sure knows how to throw a party,” Gianna murmured.
“That’s Jack, life and soul of the party,” Quinn mused.
He hated the pang that rang through his chest. She admired Jack. She admired Jack’s joie de vivre, something he’d never had and would never had. How could he compete with that?
“Yeah Chelsea’s all over that, she loves it,” Gianna grinned, jerking her chin to their right.
What?
Quinn turned his head to see a pretty little brunette (not as pretty as Gianna, of course) leaning up against Jack’s chest, giggling at something that could in no way be that funny.
Gianna was happy for Chelsea?
Oh.
Oh!
“Should I give Trevor a heads up to find somewhere else to sleep?” he smirked.
“Trevor Zegras can figure himself out,” Gianna snorted, smirking slightly back.
If he didn’t adore her before, he was sold hook, line, and sinker now. He had to say something. He had to tell her how he felt. He couldn’t go on any longer with all of this pressure sitting on his chest, weighing him down. He needed to know, either way, how she felt about him too.
“Hey Gi?”
“Yeah Quinn?” she said, turning her head to face him with a smile.
“I’m sorry if this sounds stupid, or unwanted, or just completely out of the blue. It’s just that, well, I can’t get this out of my head and now I’m rambling and-”
Gianna cut him off with a giggle, pressing a finger to his lips.
“Start again,” she prompted, dropping her hand back into her lap.
But her eyes were filled with something he hadn’t expected. Hope. That was everything he needed to steel himself.
“I like you, Gianna. Really like you. And when Jack dared me-”
“Wait, Jack dared you?”
The hurt in her face immediately sent a cold wave through his body.
“No, no, not like that. He dared me to confess my feelings to you. That’s literally it, I swear. He knows that I like you – all the guys do. I’ve just been too much of a coward to say anything,” he explained.
The hurt in her expression melted away, and she nodded, her smile turning shy. Thank fuck for that.
“That does explain why Jack reached out a month ago to find out if I could join you guys this weekend,” she mused.
A month ago? That meddling little rat.
Still, if he hadn’t meddled…
“So you’re not mad or upset that I like you?” Quinn asked hopefully.
Gianna huffed out a laugh, shaking her head, making his whole body feel like it was bursting into fireworks.
“The opposite, actually,” she admitted, “I just…I didn’t think you’d ever see me as more than a friend.”
She didn’t think…?
Without caring about their audience, their setting, or even their drinks, Quinn leant forward and kissed her. He barely heard the surprised soft moan she let out over the cheering of his idiot brother and idiot friends, choosing to flip them off before cupping her face with that same hand. He’d wasted so much time. But now, they had the whole summer to make up for it.

"Who are the guests?" I asked as my make up artist add the final touches "The seven avatars, the prince of hell is together with his butler, the exchange students excluding the young angel, the heir of the greatest noble clan, mephistopheles, the reaper and some other nobles."
The make up artist smiled at you and signaled to leave after she's done with your make up "Damn this shit down to the dirtiest ring of hell." You cussed out as you slammed your hand to the table.
"Karasu." You called your assistants name "I can do this right?" You asked as you looked back at him with pure fear and hatred on your eyes that just makes his stomach feel butterflies "Of course..." He answered with such a love sick look.
You looked back at the mirror when suddenly hands appeared from your behind and crept itself up to your oh so precious face, pulling the corners of your lips upward to force a smile out.
"Smile now, dearest." You saw Karasu smiling through the mirror "The show is about to start." He reminded "Give them a good look of this now." He said as his hands fall from your lips to your neck and to your sides before squeezing your waist.
Inside the grand hall though, the greatest of the great are waiting for this so called monster that got almost everyone captivated.
The lower nobles are on the floor sitting on their assigned seats in a circular table.
And the higher ups are on the internal balconies.
A total of thirteen balconies sorrounding the whole hall with Levi sitting on the middle one.
And at the middle there sits a large circular platform where you will perform at and it's surrounded with some glass to prevent the audience from coming up the stage.
Lucifer is intrigued. His dear brother, Leviathan, have never asked for anything until now. He never even wanted to host a celebration for his birthday.
So when they had dinner and Levi decided to discuss this matter to everyone, they all dropped silent. The funds for this event is also extremely high as it only happens sometimes.
And he even requested a gift? "And what could you possibly want?" He asked with a smirk displayed on his face. He loved every moment on his life whenever one of his brothers show this much pride.
"Ah..." He mumbled knowingly after he made Asmodeus show him a picture of this idol Leviathan specifically asked for to perform on his birthday.
The first songs started off as innocent, not until the lights in the room turned red "Hmm?" Diavolo muttered as he noticed how the glass sorrounding the platform changed and got replaced by bars.
"How can I get them to perform for me, Lucifer?" Oh... So this idol is the currently the apple of everyone eyes?
"Slip some change and I can assure you this demon will be dancing on your lap by the end of the night." He even teased.
"And for the last performance..!" The deep voice of the host announced "The cell block Tango!" He added before red lights appeared and your silhouette is the only thing they can see.
"Is this an unreleased song..?" Levi asked himself as he eyed all of your curves before shifting uncomfortably on his seat.
You decided this, with the short span of time given to you to prepare you still managed to create a song that will be the dark horse of the night and that song is this.
Gladly, the performance ended nicely.
--------------------------------------------------
LUCIFER
His face is not showing any signs of discontentment
Instead, it's showing interest
On you specifically
Who would have thought that Leviathan knew someone like you?
He can't help but smirk at the sight of your silhouette in the red light.
Who would have thought that a mere doll like you would catch his attention?
And maybe if you play nice, he might even give you what you want.
MAMMON
He swore to himself that you'll actually be the first demon to ever have him throwing money for you
The way you would look at him from down the stage and wink at him is enough signal
Maybe after the show he'll come and meet you backstage?
Ask for a small private performance if possible
LEVIATHAN
He knew that this was the right and wrong move at the same time
Introducing someone like you will surely peak their interest
But that interest will have you included in their business, in his business
So now, he just sit quietly in his seat as he heard the butler open the door and say "MC have come to you and asked for a private audience..."
He just smirked as he looked down at the people in the hall "Send them in." Is what he replied.
SATAN
The way you have kept eye contact with him as you did a part of the routine
The way he would follow your movements as he tilted his head signaled that you have had him interested in you
He may not have you now, but he'll make sure to have his hands in you
Maybe even more?
ASMODEUS
It sure is not his first time seeing you
Everything going on in the trending list is watched by Asmodeus
And you sure caught his eyes
A young demon being the first idol in Devildom?
What a surprise.
Maybe he'll invite you for a collab or an interview later on after this event
Then maybe you can visit his room once the job is finished?
BEELZEBUB
Who is this demon?
Your face is not that familiar...
So he looked around and saw everyone else captivated
Even Belphie
So when he looked back at you
He finally felt something strange
He should meet you back stage to ask you what you did to make him feel that way...
BELPHEGOR
He's chuckling
He's intrigued
All he can say is that you better make sure what you're getting yourself in
Because the moment he got his hands on you
Those chains and bars won't be props attached to you anymore.

I posted a couple days ago about headcanons for Hatchetfield characters so I wanna talk about my favs and what I think their birthdays would be:
Grace Chasity: February 14th. She has valentines birthday vibes, which is kind of ironic to me. Also I want to share a birthday with her I think
Charolette Sweetly: April 6th. She feels like a spring birthday to me. Also it’s national caramel popcorn day and in my head it makes sense.
Ruth Fleming: September 29th. She has late fall vibes, maybe it’s the outfit?? Also broadway musical day. She also seems like the type of person to be the youngest in her grade because her birthday kind of falls in that weird fall start-of-school area.
Richie Lipschitz: June 3rd. He feels like a Gemini deep down in my soul. June is also Pride month and there is no way he is straight??? And it’s national Simp day and I feel like there’s something about that.
Ted Spankoffski: April 1st. Saw someone on my post asking about birthdays for Hatchetfield characters say they HC his birthday on April fools, and I agree very much. He is such an April fool.
Linda Monroe: December 22nd. Something about her screams “I am almost a Christmas baby and that’s good enough!!” And that’s all I have to say about her
Max Jägerman: August 15th. He is a raging Leo, he feels like a summer birthday guy, and also it’s national relaxation day and he needs to chill the fuck out 🫶

MATZ Version

JEONG WOOYOUNG (정우영)
You heard the soft buzz of your phone on your beside table, yet the only thing you did was turn around and adjust the thick blanket under your chin. It was getting cold by the minute and a simple thought crossed your mind before you closed your eyes once again, maybe you should see him one last time.
If anyone told you a week ago that you’d be ignoring Wooyoung’s calls, you wouldn’t believe it, but here you are. You could’ve just block him for once and for all, but a little sick part within you liked to hear the proof of his neediness and desperation. Every call were the solid evidence that it wasn’t all in your head, in fact, he was the once who always seemed to cling to you.
The silence filled the room for barely five seconds, then the phone started ringing again.
You wish you could say you slept well that night, knowing that he wouldn’t leave any voicemails, that little prideful jerk. Instead, the same scene appeared over and over in your mind.
You still could feel his hands around your waist. He made it all so casual, natural and comfortable, like it was supposed to be that way between friends. However, you knew he only ever called you late at night, sometimes just to talk when he couldn’t fall asleep, others to beg you to come pick him up and somewhere in between those moments, he made you believe you were special to him. How special or in what way was a work in progress, you were unsure if his actions should worry you, if maybe it was more than friendly, until he made it all clear a week ago.
It was his birthday, so you did everything you could to make a memorable night, even baked the giant birthday cake yourself. Sometime after the loud music turned into background noise, he found you by the kitchen, then asked you to wait upstairs for him. His room was the only one locked in the entire house, so he left you with the key after sending one of his cheeky little winks your way. You still remember how giddy you felt, because you just received the perfect opportunity to give him that one watch he was thinking about buying it for months now.
The whole day you couldn’t really get a hold of him, something you can not blame Wooyoung of all people for, still, it was dangerously close to midnight. Was it too much to ask for some time with you best friend on his birthday? No, no it wasn’t. You weren’t asking for anything much than a simple conversation and a little bit of appreciation, something you were yet to hear from him. So you waited as much as your patience allowed.
Bu he didn’t show up.
And you knew exactly where he was, most likely having the time of his life surrounded by all your mutual friends, and you did love that about him. You’d always say that he was like your personal ray of sunshine, people like him would always have the spotlight and you also knew he enjoyed that very much. How can you wish something else for him on his day? You wish he had all the fun in the world and maybe share a bit with you as well.
So after waiting for fifteen minutes, you decided that you gave him enough grace already. Wooyoung could get lost in the moment sometimes, so you decided you were going to remind him in the pettiest way you could think of.
But none of that mattered when you laid eyes on him, standing at the bottom of the stairs. He held close one of your mutual closest friend, closer then you remembered them together before. They both were in a small circle by the wall, laughing at something he whispered. Were they a thing now? How did you not know? But there was a larger question taking all the space in your head. Is this how you look like beside him? You were used to the closeness, you enjoyed the intimacy, it could easily be you there right now.
Yet, it wasn’t you and it won’t be.
So why the hell can’t he accept that and deal with the consequences of his own actions? You were giving him what he asked for, space.
Still, he’s calling again.
CHOI SAN (최산)
The moment your existence intertwined with San’s back in college, it felt like people’s perception of you changed all of a sudden. You were nobody to most, then became somebody to him and as a consequence, someone to his friends and acquaintances. It would be fascinating to watch if it wasn’t your own life and if it wasn’t so freaking depressing. A frequent comment you’d hear was ‘how odd the two of you look next to each other’, and there was nothing you could do against a sly remark like that, specially when it comes from his so called friends, and you knew San always took that as a light joke about your differences in personalities.
You don’t remember how it happened, one day you sat beside him at the very back of a class you, so desperately, wanted to skip but couldn’t, the other day you both were attached to the hip. And how could you not? Never in you life you thought you’d describe a man as sweet, not with you at least, but there he was, every day, proving you wrong.
To be in the vicinity as someone like him was a once in a lifetime kind of experience, but to be his friend was another thing entirely. San was one of those people that can make you feel at the top of the world when he pays attention to you, the kind of person that truly seeks connection with those around him and when someone talks, he listens with all his body.
You tried to keep those pros in your mind, but more often than not you caught yourself pondering if it was still worth the headache after all those years, like right now.
You promised yourself you’d come to this stupid five-year college reunion, because otherwise San’d whine about it for a whole month, like you not coming would make him lonely somehow, like that was even a possibility.
Then, it started.
It always does one way or another.
This time was a “innocent joke” about how you glued yourself to San back in the day. They all laughed including yourself, you did not want to make a scene, you never do.
Then there was the stares at the two of you sitting beside each other. That was the funniest part for them, the simple thought that you could still have some hope for something to happen between the two of you to this day and age was hysterical. You could tell since the very start of your friendship what those people thought about you and what your place should be.
Maybe if you ever felt anything towards San in that way, it’d hurt you deeply, but you didn’t and still don’t, so it just pisses you off to no end. However, you don’t have the courage to bring it up and perhaps you should’ve done then, but now you barely see any of them, so what is it one more day?
“You’re good?”, he leaned towards you and his hands caressed your lower arm like it was second nature to him.
You nodded, then whispered as you grabbed your purse, “I’ll be back in a minute”.
It was a long walk to the nearest bathroom, outside of the gymnasium, long enough to calm yourself down and to think clearly.
All the while San was downing a drink after the other, laughing at something he barely heard from across the big table of 9 he was in. Red in the face, coughing like crazy in the middle of the chaos, he did not see you walking up to him.
“What?”, he asked the third time, leaning in to hear his friend better.
“Just admit it already, do you like her, don’t you?”
It took him a few seconds to figure it out what that was about, then a flash of you came into his mind and the recognition on his face was clear to them all. He sobered up quick and sat upright, putting his body weight on top of the table.
You don’t hear what the answer was and you don’t need to. Their laughter, his laughter, echoed in between the song change.
So maybe he wasn’t that innocent after all.
