Hmmm just gonna spit this headcanon out in text post form since A. I don't think I could exposit it well enough in image form and B. It's not actually textually/thematically substantiated and I don't like actually staking my stuff on just vibes alone*

But anyway. I'd say it's pretty evident that all the islanders forgot their names, right? King obviously. Because why the hell else would he do that, but also Siffrin No Middle Names No Last Name.

They're 'pretty sure' they've 'always' been 'Just Siffrin' 'as long as they can remember'. It's a pretty cruel twist of the knife to say that they don't even get to keep their birth name as a memento, which is why I'm saying as such.

My utterly unsubstantiated claim is I think it'd be cute to say that Sisyphus *is* the name Siffrin initially picked, assuming the myth of King Sisyphus is recontextualised as idk, just a play or something in the setting. But I like the idea of Siffrin going 'oh shit 🫵 he's just like me fr' at a tortured fictional character long before the irony kicks in.

As for how Sisyphus -> Siffrin. I think that chronic mumbler and emotional doormat Sif just did not correct people who misheard the name during their time travelling, and went through enough places with incompatible phonologies (pronounceable sounds in the language) without ever really writing it down that it just got kinda. Changed until it was unrecognisable, and Siffrin just went with it until the earlier pronunciations slipped out of their swiss-cheese brain. And they just kinda don't remember any of that.

Also, something something the horrid realisation that Siffrin also named themselves after a King. Just not as blatantly.

*(though I think there's something here about Siffrin, a guy from a belief system that seems to thoroughly disincentivise autonomy and self-motivated choice continuously having their hand forced to make changes/choices they don't want but have no choice but to... It's not solid enough to really back this up tbh, but it informs it.)

i have been reading through the diary I kept from ages 14-17 and realising how helpful it can be to keep a record of how you're feeling at different moments.

not only is it helpful to write down and process how your feeling and give yourself time to truly think about it, it's nice to have something to look back on. to not just remember how you felt about a certain situation but to actually have yourself from that time tell you.

and also, from an adhd perspective, it's really lovely to have reminders of things I'd almost entirely forgotten. it's easy to think that your life right now isn't interesting, but in 5 years time? to know what songs you were listening to or book you were reading or even that Thing that you were so worried about but now you can't even remember the details. it's nice to have a physical reminder that time passes and things really can get better.

Transformers ARK! The Twins

Sunstreaker, the self-proclaimed "eldest" of the two is cocky and egotistical. Most bots find him hard to approach so they simply steer clear. He takes great pride in his unstable reputation, and wouldn't be caught dead doing anything to break character. The only bot who seems to be able to put up with him is his twin, Sideswipe. And even though the two are rarely apart, they sometimes seem to barely even like each other. Despite preferring isolation, Sunstreaker has always been secretly jealous of how easily Sideswipe can make friends, and how other bots like his brother over him.

Sideswipe, while just as aggressive at times, can be much more relaxed and playful than his brother. He's funny and friendly, and can quickly gain favor with others. It's unfortunate that most bots are too scared to approach him considering who he's always hanging out with. Sometimes Sideswipe is resentful of the shadow he's constantly living in, and wishes Sunstreaker wasn't setting the standards of what bots grow to expect of him.

It would probably help both of their insecurities if they weren't so codependent, but no one's had the guts to try and tell them that yet.

so. Tim gets hit by some kind of spell that transports his consciousness to an alternate timeline, where he is the son of Ra's Al Ghul and older brother of Talia.

his consciousness goes back to his original reality in moments, but due to time bullshit he did spend about a decade in that universe.

Talia got like, super attached to her older brother, Tamir. when he dies on his 18th birthday, during some assassin coming of age death match or something, she was convinced that he was still alive somewhere or somewhen. (I know Tim is (probably) great with infosec, but its a decade! and he came to love her like a little sister, too, so he was a little less tight lipped about his whole circumstances.)

i'm skipping to the fun part, where Tiny Talia is chilling in Tim's apartment when he gets back from some situation, 2 months post-spell. Tim's response is "this might as well happen to me. are you sticking around, or—"

Tim, walking around gotham with Tiny Talia (Tamirah?) one hand in hers, other hand with a drink

Dick: (looking at the very obvious Young Talia Al Ghul) whatcha got there?

Tim: a smoothie.

Tamirah: who is this?
