Why the Artw boys would suck as a roommate

Arcturus:

Arcturus loves cooking and everything hes makes tastes great! But that also means he would make your apartment an ingredients household... want a bag of chips? None! Make it from scratch! Just wat a simple meal that doesnt require cooking? Too bad! All you have is a frozen slab of steak and bell peppers. Also dishes would pile up so quickly and ants would be a huge problem.

Arcturus would definitely bring in lots of stray animals (not that helping strays is a bad thing!) But every weekend, you would be on the couch doing whatever and suddenly arcturus comes barreling through the door with 100 squirrels that have rabies. And Arcturus would be like "No it's okay! I've only gotten bitten 40000 times!" And you'd be like "Arcturus we need to go to the ER now".

Also Arcturus is the type of guy to sleep next to you without you knowing (as proven in his card Spring curve) at first it would be adorable. Until it's the middle of the summer, it's hot and this fluffy ginger boy is sleeping on top of you like a weighted and heated blanket. Which basically means you will get cooked alive from being snuggled up to Arcky. (But tbh I would love to go out like that)

Spica

Spica is probably the boy equivalent of a beige mom. Everything is white, carpet, walls, tiles maybe a little tan or grey but mostly a sleek white. Which is aesthetic until you start feeling the effects of white room torture kick in.

Spica has suuuupppeeeerrrr long hair as we know and he would probably leave hair everywhere! Not that it would be intentional but also since his hair is so long it would get on everything he also probably has like 100 hair products taking up most of the shower. Also your house would smell like strong black coffee grounds 24/7 not matter what you did. Febreeze? Nope, didnt work. Opening the windows? Still smells like coffee.

Speaking of coffee, he doesnt sleep much. Which means when your getting you beauty rest Spica is up in the kitchen making his 725th coffee of today. Hes also very busy, hes always on a computer writing and there are files cabinets everywhere, Like absolutely everywhere. You find paperclips in the fridge and pens and pencils between the couch cushions. He would also probably be very bossy, forgot your homework? Spica lives in your household just waiting to scold you for it 😅.

Alpheratz

Hes sleeping all of the time. Like all of the time. He probably doesn't do many chores himself but that probably wouldn't matter because he would hire a maid to do it all. He would also 100% fall asleep on top of you keeping you trapped for god only knows how long. He would also never cook, he would. A: Get fast food B: Beg you to do it or C: hire a chef.

But honestly I feel like Alpheratz would be a good roommate otherwise.

Pollux

You see Pollux could be a good roommate. He seriously could be... if it wasnt for his luck. He could be cleaning dishes and the house would catch on fire. Speaking of houses catching on fire, Pollux doesn't know how to cook and he would probably light the house on fire. Multiple times. Pollux could be looking out the window and suddenly all the power goes out. Hes also a lil broke boy, so he definitely would not be paying a lot of bills. He would also probably blast anime music in his room for multiple hours at a time.

And Castor would probably break into your apartment every now in then to bother you or Pollux. I also feel like Pollux would start accidentally calling you mom and embarrassing you when people come over. He also would ask you for lots of money.

Vega

Honestly, I feel like Vega would be a very clean, quiet and calm roommate. He would cook, pay bills, do whatever you expect a good roomate to do. But I feel like Vega, if he moved in with you, would start being very affectionate. Not like a "hi... your pretty" I feel like he would become much more possessive and get mad whenever your brought Sirius over or another guy. He also literally states in his lines that he wants to monopolize you. So for him, you being his roomate essentially means he gets to hang out with you whenever, even when your busy doing something like dishes. He would walk up to you and start talking to you a lot.

Sirius

We can all agree by default that Sirius is a very creepy and flirty roomate. He would break into your bedroom in the middle of the night to scare you or just bother you. He would steal your soaps in the bathroom, he would basically do all these little things to get you a little upset with him. Despite that, he would pay the bills after you begged him to enough. He would cook (not as good as Arcky but still, he would)

He would definitely turn into random animals or into the household pet if you had one just to get your attention. Also say goodbye to privacy because now that you live with him he wants to know everything about you, what your doing and where your going. All of that. Also he probably runs a mafia so theres probably going to be lots of random scary looking people appearing without warning. Hes also going to be very flirty, I'll let you decide if that's a pro or a con.

He would also try to get you to do some sort of rituals with him or something like that.

"Man this is the fucking FIFTH studio I called today and none of them got availability tonight" You groaned out of frustration.

"Why you wait until the last minute to call these studios?" Delyse questioned.

"Well I just signed up for the contest. It was a spur of the moment thing I didn’t really think it through." You said.

Delyse hummed in response and turned her attention back to the food on the stove.

"We can see if Kenny still got his home studio. I think he still live on 33rd" Davis said.

"Bet let's go. We'll be back Ma" You said to your mother and left with Davis.

"You got a song you gonna record?" Davis asked.

"Yeah I wrote it a long time ago. I made the beat and everything" You smiled.

Soon the two of you made it to Kenny's house. You walk into the building and climb up the three flights of stairs, remembering that his elevator never worked. You got to his door and knocked on it.

You waited patiently and slightly out of breath. You knocked again, "Yo Kenny it's me Jah."

Suddenly, the door was ripped opened and a furious looking woman stood there with a crying baby on her hip.

"Uh is Kenny here?" You asked.

The woman laughed sadistically, "Of course you're looking for Kenny. Kenny left four months ago with a skank from Brooklyn."

You and Davis looked at each other stuck on what to say.

"Um...you don't happen to still have his studio equipment?" You asked carefully.

"Nope. I burned it. I burned everything of his" The woman replied.

"Okay thanks" You both gave her a small smile and walked away from Kenny's former apartment. The two of you left the building with you feeling utterly defeated.

"What the fuck am I gonna do? I have to submit this demo by 11:59 tonight" You sighed.

"Don't stress bruh we gon' figure something out. Trust" Davis reassured you. You nodded and took a deep breath in to calm your body down.

Jenna had just got to her temporary home after a long day of filming. She was exhausted and was glad she had the day off so she can rest properly. She pulled her shoes off and placed her purse on the table.

Just as she was about to sit on the couch, a knock is at her door.

She internally screams before she walks to the door and opens it to reveal Hudson.

Jenna sighed, "What do you want Hudson?"

"I...just wanted to check in on you. I know you've been working hard which could be harmful to the baby" Hudson said nervously.

"Now you care about me and my baby" Jenna said and raised her eyebrow in suspicious at the boy.

"I always cared about you Jenna. If I didn't I wouldn't be here right now" Hudson replied.

"If you cared about me you wouldn't have told my family about me being pregnant. That wasn't something someone who cared about me would do" Jenna said and crossed her arms over her chest.

"You're right. I shouldn't have done that, it wasn't my place to do that and I sincerely apologize" Hudson said.

Jenna hummed in response, not really believing his words.

Hudson sighed and scratched the back of his neck, "I truly am sorry and I regret doing it. I just...I just wanted to check on you after everything that happened with Neil on the plane."

At the mention of the male, Jenna tensed. She was doing good with pushing him out of her thoughts. Instead, choosing to focus on her filming. She couldn't and won't let him control her...not anymore. She deserved to be happy.

"I'm fine. I'll handle it" Jenna lied.

Hudson opened his mouth to say something but decided against it after seeing the look on her face.

"Okay...I'll uh...see you tomorrow" Hudson said and walked away from her door. Jenna shut the door after he left and sat on her couch. She was stressed and that wasn't good for her or the baby...she needed to relieve some stress.

Jenna groaned and placed her phone down next to her. She needed to eat, shower, and sleep. But before she could even attempt to start, her phone dinged again. She grabbed it and opened the message from you, she took a sharp inhale of air.

"Hey Leon" Delyse smiled brightly at the sight of the man.

"Hey Del, how you doing?" Leon gave her a smile back.

"I'm good just cooking for these clingy kids" Delyse answered and opened the door wider for Leon to see you and Davis.

"Hey Mr. Greenhill" You and Davis simultaneously greeted the older man. Leon chuckled and waved at them.

"Oh I knew I smelled something delicious. Man I missed smelling your cooking reminds me of the old days" Leon flattered.

Delyse let out a little giggle, "Yeah the old days."

The two adults stood in the doorway looking at each other basking in the comfortable silence. Meanwhile, you and Davis looked at each other before looking back at the older adults.

"I...uh just wanted to stop by and say hello. I don't wanna intrude anymore than I already have" Leon smiled at Delyse.

"No, no, no intruding...do you want a plate?" Delyse boldly asked.

It took a moment for Leon to come up with a response but eventually he did, "Uh yeah sure."

The older gentleman walked into the house and Delyse closed the door behind him. Leon pulled off his cap and held it in his hands. He sat next to you at the end of the table.

"How you guys doing?" Leon politely said to you and Davis.

"Eh" You shrugged.

"Eh? Why eh?" Leon questioned.

"Jah signed up for this music competition. Winner gets a five million dollar record deal with Passion Records. The contestants must submit a demo by 11:59 p.m tonight but we haven't found a studio all week" Davis explained.

"And I tried recording it on my phone but the audio is all grainy and hard to hear" You sighed.

"Hmm...can you sing the song you are going to submit?" Leon questioned.

You and Davis glanced at each other again but Davis just shrugged. You scrolled to the notes app and pulled the beat of the song you are going to use.

"Rollin' through with stacks, it's easy, money rainin' down, just like a storm, I got the riches-" You get interrupted by Leon pausing the beat on your phone.

"No" Leon said.

"No? What you mean no? It's a good song" You scoffed.

"Yeah for the early 2015 era when singing about money like that could get you hits. It's 2023 now, people want to hear something different something unique. If I was a judge and I heard that...I would think you're just hopping on the trendy music hoping for yours to be the hit. But you don't realize that everyone is thinking the same thing as you. The only way for you to be looked at twice is if you stand out. Let the lyrics come from within you, come from your heart" Leon explained to you.

Delyse then comes from the kitchen with a plastic bag with aluminum foiled wrapped plates inside.

"Here you go" Delyse smiled and handed Leon the bag.

"Thank you. I really appreciate this Delyse" Leon smiled at her grateful. He stood up from the table and grabbed his cap.

"Once you find those lyrics, come and find me on Southern BLVD but hurry though you got four hours left" Leon said and left the house.

Meanwhile, you sat stuck at the dining room table. Replaying the words Leon said, basically calling your song shit. It stung but deep down you knew he was right. The song didn't feel like you, it felt like a 14 year old wrote it and it wasn't your style.

You glanced at the clock on the wall as you grabbed a pen and paper. 7:48 p.m. Your eyes then glanced down to your phone and an unopened message from Jenna.

"Have to be..." You muttered to yourself. Instantly, your hand starts to move by itself as you write down the lyrics to your new song.

Two hours later, you finally finished and made your way to Southern BLVD with Davis tagging along.

"Why Southern BLVD though? What's here besides crackheads and prostitutes?" Davis commented.

The two of you continued walking down the block until you start to hear the sound of music. The closer you got to the corner, the louder and clearer the music became. It was street drummers and Leon was in the middle of them playing the electric guitar. You and Davis watched in amazement as he kept up with the drummers until they finished their last cord together.

The small amount of people that were gathered applauded them and a couple gave a few dollars before walking away.

"Yo I ain't know you could play the guitar Mr. Greenhill" Davis said.

Leon chuckled, "I'm a man with many talents son." The older male turned to you.

"I'm assuming you got something better with you this time" Leon teased.

You laughed, "Yeah I do. Wrote it from the heart like you said."

"Alright, well you better warm up that voice. You got a song to perform" Leon smiled and patted your back.

"Wait what? Right now? In public?" You questioned.

"Uh yeah. You need to submit that demo in two hours. I checked to see if you submit a live version of your demo and it said you could so get a move on" Leon said and stepped to the side.

"I don't got a beat though I just have the lyrics" You said. You were really trying your hardest not to perform in front of people severely underprepared.

"Don't worry about that" Leon said and placed the guitar over his shoulder.

Leon then played a cord on the guitar, soon the bucket drummer started feeling the vibe and matched the cord Leon was playing. Then you heard someone sweeping from behind you, it surprisingly also matched with everyone. You start to nod your head, feeling the rhythm and you grabbed the beat up microphone from the ground.

Davis pulled out his phone to start recording you.

"Can't wait for you to get home, we ain't got to go nowhere. Airplane on my phone, it can wait til the morning. I can't fathom why you choose me out billions but I'll take it" You sung. You felt your eyes close as you got lost into the music.

Soon, you finished off the song to a large crowd cheering and clapping at your performance.

"I told you let the lyrics come from your heart. You made magic tonight Jah, take pride of your work" Leon educated you.

You nodded at him and walked over to Davis who was fiddling with his phone.

"And submitted" Davis smiled at you as he submitted the demo on the competition website.

"Hard part is over for now. Now we wait" You exhaled deeply.

hard to say id have to watch it a 2nd time to know for sure and i havent gotten around to it yet…… but some stuff i know i rly enjoyed was: the nightmare sequence at the start of ep9 it’s super cool and well done; beth & shermy i don’t believe they rewlly should have been there it was not necessary but i do like beth & shermy and it was fun to see more of them and what kind of stuff they do; errmmmmm i thought of something else but i got distracted and forgot it….. i like fionna & simon keeping in touch and i lkke how they pulled that off and i think their texts are funny; and i rewlly like scarab becoming like an Apprentice Wishmaster or something and ending up trying to write stuff himself i think thats a good ending for him :)

About that interlude, yeah, I was a little disappointed too that we didn't get it in WaT, especially since Sanderson said in Word of Brandon that he would write it, but I guess he ran out of space in such a huge book and had to cut some scenes, so I can't blame him for choosing from those scenes to discard the ones about background character. When I started the book and saw that the parts were split into just ten days, and that Kaladin was going to stay in Shinovar, I immediately said goodbye to the idea of ​​him and Tarah seeing each other again, but I was still hoping to at least get an interlude from her to at least know how and where she is and what her life has been like, I even had the headcanon that she was now a Radiant. I was curious especially since Brandon mentioned a while ago that the Mourn's Vault was a dangerous and unpleasant place, so I thought Tarah could tell us in her POV something interesting about her time there. I even briefly imagined that maybe Tarah could be among the scribes who helped Bridge 4 in Shattered Plains or the ones who went to Azimir with Adolin, but nope!

We got nothing :( Don't be sad though! Because if there's one thing my experience in many of my fandoms with secondary characters that an author leaves out has taught me, it's that those are the most fun to expand in the fandom with headcanons. I've a saying: "if an author doesn't care about a character and never give us enough about them, then I'll do it myself!" So in a way it's even a good thing that Tarah is almost a blank space as a character, because that leads to more headcanons than you can imagine ^^ For example, I want Tarah to be Radiant, and since Sanderson never said she isn't, then if I say she's Radiant, then she's Radiant! And I can choose for her to be of any order I want ( In my mind she is Willshaper because the description of that Order fits her quite well, so confident and flamboyant. I know that almost all the willshaper spren are for the listeners but she can have a rebel spren). And if I want to say that she or some relative of hers is a worldhopper, then that's true! The canon can't tell me otherwise because it hasn't even shown me!

Or, about shipping, if I want to decide that she can have another partner during these ten years of time jump between books 5 and 6, then we can choose whoever I want! For example, something crazy but fun: I could make up a story about Kaladin's two ex-girlfriends: Lyn and Tarah meet and fall in love with each other! (it would be quite a korrasami situation and that's why I love it, it would make for more than one funny scene for a reunion with Kaladin in the future! XD) Or the same if I want to ship Tarah with a background character, or with Kaladin in the past or in an AU despite what the canon says, or Idk with Venli, or Lopen, or Vivenna… you can ship her whoever you want and imagine multiple sceneries!

We can also imagine what happened to Tarah before and write hadcanons or some fanfic about it if we want. I can, for example, imagine that she gathered her own group of rebel soldiers of Sadeas' army, inspired by Kaladin, and she saved them -specially the young ones- and took them to Urithiru. I can pretend that her reunion with Kaladin really happened between OB and RoW behind the scenes and that she wished him happiness and they became friends. I can imagine Tarah really was in Shattered Plains or in Azimir between the scribes helping one of the armys. Or I can imagine that between books 5 and 6 Tarah became a scholar or that she decided to help Bridge 4 as the new quartermaster after the death of the previous one or as a scribe.

In conclusion: possibilities are endless! :D

a) one of my things about ROW is as much as i liked the timeskip, it felt like a cop-out for consequences re: Dalinar, his children and Evi, so i'm glad that's being addressed more. big fan of adolin and dalinar tension. and in general, WAT is doing a more deliberate effort to tie back older books. nice

b) i understand Brando wants to write the Rock novella and so doesn't want to spoil what happened to Rock. but. come on. dancing around this is clunky at best

c) i don't think Dalinar or Kaladin will become the vessel of Honor. too obvious. i wonder if -> Honor is not dead as long as he exists in the hearts of men (and singer and spren). there might be something there. maybe?

d) some good jokes in here.

e) i am rooting for witjanash divorce. also i still like the version of ace-ness janash presents. i recall a bunch of discourse about it when ROW came out but it rang mostly true for me, a vaguely ace person, and it feels more refined now. in general, i appreciate the effort brando seems to have been putting into to confronting his own biases, esp for lgbt topics.

My Final Thoughts on The Starry Love

Best drama of the year. Calling it right now. I'll even go on a limb and say this is the best fantasy drama ever. There I said it. And yes, I do think it's better than 10 Miles AND Ashes of Love.

Okay, now that the haters are gone, I can speak freely.

The best thing about this drama was its characters. They all were developed well and acted well. What makes a drama go round? It's characters. I can't complain about a single one, well, maybe Qingheng for being too hung up on a plant he watered, but I'll try not to dwell on that. If the character was bad, you hated him or her; if they were good, you loved them.

This drama brought in and showcased some of the best acting talent in the c-drama industry. Yes, I'm referring to Chen Xingxu who proved how amazing he is! He played 2 versions of 1 character and 3 other characters! I'm wowed by him. I should say I'm continued to be wowed by him, because I saw him in Goodbye My Princess and Fall in Love and both times he was fantastic.

Landy Li *chef's kiss* also amazing talent! She gave the troublemaker Yetan such heart and fun quirks you can't help but love her. She had different facets to her character that were slowly developed or revealed over time and Landy Li did amazing with her growth.

Her chemistry with Chen Xingxu is undeniable. They played off each other for quirky comedy scenes and then really came together for the romantic or angsty scenes. Plus, they looked really good together.

He Xuanlin who played Qingkui and Luke Chen who played Chaofeng were new talent that I hadn't noticed before and now my eyes are glued on them. Who else wants the 2 couples to pair up again in the same drama in the future? (raises hand)

All the side characters were either fun when they should have been or nasty as they were. Applause to everyone. AND A shoutout to Cao Bo who played Haichou! He was the most fun side character I had seen in a while. He wasn't just the sidekick to the male lead, but he was fun, rude and sassy!

Moving onto the story: Overall was a 10 out of 10. I was engaged from the beginning and not once was I not interested. There was excellent pacing and when things did slow down, I wasn't bored. How many dramas have we watched something, and we lose focus? Not in this drama! I mostly attribute this to the characters. Like I said before: they were all interesting and that keeps the viewers engaged.

A note on the ending: This kind of open ending has been done too many times for my liking. I haven't read the story, but I intend to. Even if the book had an open ending like this, I interpret the tree as the stage BEFORE the twins are reborn. I'm an optimist!

I can walk away from this drama and be satisfied with it, but still hope that one day we'll see a mini episode of what happened afterwards.

I think Chaofeng and Qingkui deserved better, writing wise. Qingkui became a side character, but there were episodes where she did practically nothing and even Chaofeng at the end was reduced to a mere handful of scenes. We were rooting for them for most of the show until the end and Qingkui became a sentient flower and Chaofeng was left to mourn her. I was disappointed with that, being honest.

The music and sound were also very good. This may not seem like a big deal, but I never once skipped the opening song or ending song. They were both beautifully epic or beautifully sad. And there were some instrumentals that were gorgeous. My top pick: the music in episode 37 when Youqin and Yetan are sparring.

The effects were gorgeous! It was on par with the Love between Fairy and Devil. I'm not an expert on this so I won't say too much. My only complaint was the overuse of the filters/ lense flares. There were some scenes where I was peering around hazy objects or blinded by lights.

In the end, I loved this show despite the nitpicking. I want to rewatch and revisit all of the emotions I felt over the course of watching this show. I loved that I could make fun of the show and have fun. It wasn't too sappy or too stupid and lately cdramas have been falling into those categories. So happy to see this drama rose above it all to be the best fantasy drama.
