I was rewatching Smashed yesterday, and I had the sudden, extremely vivid memory of that time back in high school when the episode aired, and the day after I was talking about it with my friend (who was also a spuffy shipper) and she said "I wish they would just sleep together already!" And I, very confused, said, "they did. It literally just happened in the last episode". She just kept insisting they didn't, and I was so confused trying to figure out if she had somehow missed that last scene or something.

Eventually, through a long and confusing exchange, I figured out why she thought they hadn't had sex. It was because she didn't know that it was possible to have sex while still having any of your clothes on.

“So, let me get this straight,” Minerva said slowly, resting her fingertips together. “Because of your latest… exploit I give you detention, tell you your task is to dust and clean up the whole Trophy Room along with polishing the trophies, no magic allowed of course, and when I come back after three whole hours the room is even messier than before?”

She looked around. The dozens of shelves along the walls had been freed from trophies but definitely not dusted if she believed the marks of hands on them. The trophies themselves were gathered on the central table but didn’t shine as they should be after hours of polishing. Actually, some of them were piled up with little regard for the achievements they were engraved with and some others had even ended up on the floor. She turned back to stare at the two boys in front of her, detailing them both. Sirius Black’s tie was loose, but he had never been one to tie it properly after all. His shirt having a couple of missing buttons was stranger, but the boy was always up to his neck in mischief and what were buttons to a career as a prankster as Minerva feared would one day be his goal? But the strangest thing of all was his hair, all tousled in a way she had not seen him sport not even after a Quidditch match. As for Remus Lupin, his tie was straight, but the collar of his shirt pointed upwards, which was unusual for such a tidy and proper student. Besides, the collar was almost comically pointing to a varied collection of bruises on his neck and up to his lips who looked as if they had been bitten several times.

Minerva closed her eyes briefly, taking a deep breath.

“Clean this up. Quickly,” she handed them both back their wands. “And go back to your dorm.”

She whirled around under their astounded gaze and walked out of the room. That would teach her to give detention in a closed room to two boys who so clearly couldn’t wait until the next time they could rip each other’s clothes off. She waited until she had closed the door to her office behind her before smiling.

“Congratulations,” she whispered to no one.

anyways the closest experience I've had to the the feeling of reading the second chapter is taking my roommate to the ER for four hours for suspected appendicitis only to come back with a UTI diagnosis and an antibiotic prescription. and it breaks your one year streak of roommates getting appendicitis. in a good way.

you wanna know something i can't stop thinking about regarding the wwdits s5 finale???? how fucking SMART nandor was. about everything.

the narrative always painted him as not the brightest, specially when compared to the rest of the main cast. but when he couldn't find guillermo, going to his mom bc he knew that was the one way to make guillermo come out of hiding???? absolute genius move coming from the man who didn't even know there were multiple panera breads. (just how nandor even knows about guillermo's family and where they live is a whole other conversation on its own)

after only being caught up on the situation for a day, he immediately knew why guillermo's body was fighting the vampirism and how to fix it (which NOBODY could figure out for 10 episodes). and when he saw that being a vampire wasn't working for him, in an instant he came up with two different solutions for that (asking the djinn and killing derek). after a whole month of the whole cast failing to help guillermo, in just 24 hours nandor knew exactly how to make it all better.

JUST THE KNOWLEDGE OF WHY NANDOR NEVER TURNED GUILLERMO CHANGES EVERYTHING!!! for several seasons now we theorized why nandor was so dodgy about this subject. but it wasn't bc he didn't care, or to keep the status quo, or bc he was afraid guillermo would leave once he got what he wanted. IT WAS BC HE KNEW GUILLERMO WELL ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND HE WASN'T READY FOR EVERYTHING BEING A VAMPIRE ENTAILS!!!

this finale showed that even though nandor can usually be dense and a bit slow, he can also think really quickly once all the avaliable information is presented to him. and he's actually aware of the people around him and their feelings (specially guillermo's). even though he acts aloof all the time, nandor can be serious and collected when the situation calls for it.

the s5 finale legit completely changed how i view his character.

the more i rewatch the acolyte, the more i like mae (and want more of her in more! seasons!)

okay heartbreak and victory aside, there's something oddly... poetic about mcdavid winning the conn smythe despite edmonton losing.

both teams deserved to win, with florida almost sweeping them and edmonton almost pulling the comeback. the whole series going to a game seven where everyone could win. they could've easily handed the conn smythe to bobrovsky (who is just as deserving!) or any other panther. but they chose mcdavid. a remnant of a hard fought battle. while florida won, the oilers didnt go home empty handed neither. it feels like even when one team won and the other lost, both teams somehow won and i find that beautiful.
