hello! Ive been putting off making an introduction post because I haven’t been sure on what to write so I hope this is ok!
my name is lauren, im 23 y/o and british. I’ve thought about making a simblr for a long time but never have the time or motivation to start. I’ve been mainly using tumblr for inspiration for my sims / saves and to find gorgeous cc, I am very excited to start up this simblr and to hopefully have a wonderful journey ahead of me in this community!
i’m still learning how to set up my blog but I’m figuring it out slowly ( I may need some help sometimes figuring some things out) I will mainly post screenies and maybe edits and lookbooks (once I spend hours figuring it out and mastering it) i have posted a couple posts recently but I want to post on this blog a lot and not just once week otherwise I will lose all motivation for this 😀
I hope I can make some moots to interact with and hope that anyone who takes a look at my blog loves it as it grows! I started up a simblr because of some amazing creators like @farfallasims @stellarfalls @pixelglam @passiberri and so many more wonderful creators
btw my sims style changes like very week ( it’s a very bad habit pls help) so I may have different content and different looks to my gameplay every once and a while.Im mainly starting up this blog because of all the incredibly kind people within the sims community which would love to be apart of(^‿^✿)
feel free to like & repost etc, it would mean so much to be able to grow within this amazing community. <3
thank you for listening and stay tuned to see my journey🫂

Hello it's me and I'm in your "Asks" ☺️
What/who made you come to simblr and what/who made you stay?
If there's a "who" everyone go thank @marcishaun for inviting me over. She and @azuhra helped me get settled.
"What" was just wanting to share what goes on in my game when I've spent so much time on it. And try to make friends because being stuck at home thanks to mental and physical challenges actually makes it hard to meet people.
As for staying, I landed in a great corner of tumblr. A bunch of talented, kind people without ego. I feel like I can ask questions and will get a proper response rather than people yelling at me to go try google. I think many of my moots genuinely want to see simblrs do well and I love being in this environment. I stick around for all the people who chat in my comments and let me chat in theirs, it makes me feel like I've actually socialised with people during the day. Big hugs to the people who chat with me in messages as well, whether it be regularly or sporadically.

Hi! 👋
Sorry it took me forever to answer this ask, but I am just very slow 😅
All of these simblrs inspire me (and a lot of others, but I got overwhelmed compiling this list)
@akitasimblr I love how many different gameplays Ana has, and she's dedicated to all of them! I am also a big fan of Le Chat!
@aleksa-sims tells her real life story, it's so brave! And her screenshots are amazing! She is also a very nice person.
@cinamun is an amazing storyteller! I am so invested in her Things Fall Apart, it makes me laugh, cry and think.
@cyazurai has many different gameplays and also posts other games too. It reminds me that I love all kind of games and should play them too, not only sims 😅
@daisydezem is not very active lately, but I love her RainbowSin challenge. Her BACC, Supersim and own playthrough of RainbowSin are so interesting!
@dustbon plays mostly on short lifespan and quickly progresses through legacies. I love it! I'd love to play a legacy on a short lifespan one day too.
@faeriefrolic plays Sims 3. Her sims are cute and wholesome.
@introvertedfox plays vanilla. It inspired me to play vanilla myself, but I always end up with defaults first, them some mods, then some blushes and then it's not vanilla anymore 😅
@llamabees her sims and posts are so colourful! I also love her reshade preset and templates!
@loveryss her sims are cute and her posts are cozy! She also makes great cc!
@oswanily has completed the 100 baby challenge! And Seven Wonders challenge which she created and inspired me to play it too. It's one of the few challenges that I actually completed!
@shmoodlet are an amazing person! They are very supportive and friendly. And their gameplays are always with a bit of a story, which my gameplays are always lack of.
@silwermoon-sims has the cutest sims ever! Her lookbooks and gameplay inspire me to be more creative with my sims!
@simspaghetti plays Sims 3. Her editing inspired me to try out different editing style myself. Her gameplay rules and Sims 3 guides really helped me get into the game. I plan on using some of her Sims 3 gameplay rules for my Sims 4 gameplays too.
@tipsy-clouds inspired me to play one of the Sims 4 scenarios! I haven't posted it yet, though. Her lookbooks and resources are very helpful!
@waaneco post the most cutest Sims 3 and Sims 4 posts! And their Stardew Valley pics and gifs inspire me to play that game!
I'm so sorry I didn't mention more people! There are a lot more simblrs who inspire me, but it wasn't easy coming up with this list. I know I missed some blogs that I wanted to add, but as I said I got overwhelmed. If I didn't mention you it doesn't mean you don't inspire me! If I follow your blog you can almost 100% be sure that you inspire me 💜 🥰

Simblr Gratitude Day!
Tumblr media
I'm not a huge fan of listing people by name because I'm always worried I'll forget someone or that somebody will feel left out; however, I'm going to do this anyway. This list is by no means exhaustive and it's not going to be in any particular order.
Before I get started specifically mentioning people, I just want to say a huge thank you to all my followers (nearly 900 of you!) and to everyone who's ever interacted with anything I've ever posted.
This blog is eclectic, disorganized and generally chaotic (probably a lot like me), so I want to thank everyone for putting up with my nonsense for the past three years on this blog, and since 2015 on my old one. Thanks to everyone who likes my posts, thank you to those who reblog, and an extra-special thank you for people who comment on my posts. The comments give me the biggest and best hits of dopamine, I assure you!
Most of all, I want to share my appreciation for everyone who has the courage to put themselves out there, everyone who has a passion for this game after so many years, and the absolute abundance and variety of creativity I see on here every day. No matter what you're doing on here, every single one of you matters and each of your endeavours are worth it. Keep being creative, helpful, kind and generous. You make simblr a better place.
Here are some people I love to interact with, who I love seeing on my dash and who are just plain awesome people:
@dandylion240 @cawthorntales @rebelangelsims @ljfoxie @holocene-sims @lynzishell @wannabecatwriter @enniewritesathing @akitasimblr @igotsnothing @micrathene-w @simbico @simstrashkingdom @melsie-sims @papermint-airplane @echoweaver @happy-lemon @hannahssimblr @havenroyals @payte @honeybeenrw @gingerbeardmansim @natolesims @fayethegray @clumsyteddy @blithesometrait @108sims @citylighten @rebouks @wastelandwhisperer @ethicaltreatmentofcowplants @theosconfessions @simmillercc @bakersimmer @zosa95 @theageofsims
... and so many more!

5 Amazing CC Makers
This is a non-exhaustive list of some of my current favorite CC makers! It was hard to winnow it down to just five people, but here are a few standouts whose stuff I've been loving, lately.
@surely-sims: quirky, unique mid-century BB objects
If you're one of the readers of Anne's incredible Plott Legacy, then you're probably a lover of vintage/retro vibes and silly puns. Fortunately, she's brought that exact same energy to all of her incredible build/buy objects. The names and descriptions of all her objects channel the vibes of earlier sims game and add a certain je ne sais quoi to builds.
@warwickroyals: unique, fashion-forward dresses and gowns
Ayanna has an absolutely incredible eye for style. There is so much amazing royal CC out there, but with limited reference pools, it can get a little stale. Ayanna has never had that problem. Her downloads page has an amazing, curated vibe -- she's not just copying random dresses and gowns, she's choosing unique, fashionable pieces from real-world style icons. I really love her CC because it helps me give my sims unique personal style.
@chaotic-simss: family poses with personality
My story has been focused entirely on the lives and struggles of a bunch of unlikable adults, but it won't be long until those unlikable adults start having unlikable children. And I've already started bookmarking some of her amazing family poses to use once those babies arrive. I really love that her poses capture little moments in the life of a growing family and give each member personality, instead of just rigid, formal poses with uniform smiles.
@herecirmsims: high-quality poses for every occasion
My story involves a whole lot of people standing around and talking, and I'm so fortunate to exist in a community with so many incredible posemakers who make those conversations a little less tedious. She makes amazing, unique fantasy-themed poses, but even her simple emotion poses are amazing. Her poses are all lovingly made, with great attention to detail -- no stiff hands or blank expressions here, every single pose has incredible body language and expressive faces. Rapidly become one of my go-to posemakers for storytelling.
@rebouks: everyday poses to liven up your story
Okay, Becca is (deservedly) simblr-famous for her amazing storytelling, but I was first introduced to her work via CC finds blogs while I was searching for story poses. I particularly love her recent infant insanity series, which is a whole bunch of lively, expressive baby and toddler poses to bring life to the smallest sims.

📩 Simblr question of the day: Choose as many sims/ocs as you'd like for this question, What's something INCREDIBLY obscure and/or out-of-pocket about your sim/oc? Something that nobody (fellow sims and/or your followers and mutuals) knows 👀 (This could be things about their social skills, physicality and/or birth defects, or it could be something they vaguely remember, a dream they had that actually predicted the future, etc etc... whatever you come up with)
oooh i have SO many
shortly after caroline and beth got married, caroline got a tattoo of a bee for her. and well. it's a pussy tat 😌 she might have become less impulsive with time but she missed having someone's name on her, so she compromised. and beth loves it lmao (i actually did draw it and added it to her tattoo overlay even though you'll probably never see it)
mikaela is incredibly good at finding people's veins. whenever there's a patient who's scared of needles, they always have her do it because it'll be super quick and painless
casper didn't have a bedroom until he was like 6 and even then, he slept in his parents' bed until he was 12
coco was born with a broken collarbone but it's the only bone she's ever broken to this day (also, even with that, coco was the easiest birth her mom had out of 5 children, so... that poor woman has been through a lot 😬)
stevie likes going to concerts and musical festivals with the friends we don't see on-screen because they're irrelevant. they're older, so they're able to get her into places she wouldn't normally be able to go. she's taken elaine a few times and they had fun, but it's not her scene (and elaine is always worried about getting in trouble)
even when he was just starting out in the music industry as a teenager, danny has never gotten starstruck meeting celebrities. they're all just Some Guy to him. but if he met tony hawk he would literally lose the ability to speak
asa is perceived by strangers as just... a weird guy. he talks to himself under his breath (sometimes he really is talking to himself, sometimes he's talking to finn or another ghost), he's kind of shaky and twitchy because of the meds he takes, he gets lost in thought and can drift in and out of conversation, he paces around, etc. kids used to be really mean to him around middle school age, but as everyone got older they started to mostly feel bad for him and avoid him (it helps that stevie and elaine are well-liked and won't tolerate anyone saying rude things about asa)

A small rant about my Simblr
Thanks to @deardiaryts4 for the comment that inspired me to keep doing what i love.
So as some may know this is my first simblr ever. And I'm happy that so many great simmers like my posts and even better reblog them. Bc reblogs help my and any other persons posts to get more popular and they're more often shown to others. That's why i will sometimes reblog my own posts. And i recommend you to do the same and also reblog other people posts too. I'm so grateful for all the people that reblog me. It gives me such a confidence and inspiration boost.
I started this simblr thinking that it could be a safe space for me to show what i really love doing in my free time. Answering the question. It's exactly what i did and will do. And it helped me to get to 57 followers already. It's crazy to me. And i learn as i keep going. Through tutorials and mistakes i'm editing better than i used to.
This simblr is helping me to be happy everyday. Each time i see a new reblog i get as happy as a little kid who just got Nintendo switch for Christmas. This is the reason i wake up every day for. I've never had two or more people supporting me in anything.
Huge thanks to all the people that support me and reblog me!

Did someone say Simblr Gratitude Day? ✨
Y’all will have to forgive me for not having more prepared to show the immense gratitude I have for y’all today (a special thank you to @armoricaroyalty for the idea!) so please instead have a characteristic rant because I love you all and I can’t let that go without being said!
There’s no possible way for me to tag everyone I am grateful for because there is/has been so many of you who have helped and inspired me along the way. Also there’s so many of you who make the community what it is by reading or sharing, so I want to thank all of you beyond just those mutuals and content creators I appreciate. So thank you…
❤️ To all my Fellow Simblrs both big and small:
I know how utterly strange this little hobby can be. It can suck you in and spit you back out, take our attention for weeks and months at a time and then burn you out. It can be immensely fulfilling, creatively inspiring, and then exhausting. Thank you all for continuing to post here every day, for making this community a vibrant and lively space for those who have been here for years, the teenage simblrs just finding their sea legs, and for the new people stumbling into the community every day. Thank you for inspiring me and welcoming me and making me want to come back every day!
❤️ To my fellow Decades and Historical simmers:
What a strange and serendipitous moment when I fell into this little niche world. I would never have thought there were so many of us who find so much joy in combining these two hobbies and interests, so to see you all out here thriving and creating was a wonderful moment. Thank you to CC creators/mod makers/recolorers/builders/pose makers/and anyone else who makes this possible at all. Without y’all how could we transform this game into the historical wonderland we’ve come to love?
Another huge thank you to anyone who’s ever posted their decades challenge or historical content, to those doing gameplay or those who fell down the challenge to storytelling pipeline (hello it’s me) or those who share their edits and lookbooks. Y’all have all inspired me more than y’all can know.
❤️ To my mutuals and simblr besties:
The moment we utter ~mutuals~ on this site y’all know exactly what I mean. Like a little telekinetic bond that when I see your content or you see mine you know that’s exactly why we’re here, and I’ll support you every damn time. Thank you to those in the notes, those I speak to regularly, and those who I may not know as well; y’all are all the lifeblood of my dash and I have found many little icons I know immediately. Even if I don’t see you for a while you’re still in my mind and I’m so grateful for that.
A special above and beyond shoutout to those who have helped make the story happen at all. Those who have patiently walked me through technical skills and editing techniques and those who read my rough drafts and give me absolutely invaluable feedback. And of course those who finally pulled me down the reshade rabbit hole despite my unbecoming stubbornness. Y’all know who y’all are and seriously, would I even still be writing without y’all?
❤️ To anyone who has ever read, engaged with, or enjoyed my story:
I just…I cannot even possibly fathom how to show my gratitude to y’all. I never intended for my small little hobby to completely take over my brain, or for my decades challenge to become a story to this degree. But little by little it has done so, and I have y’all to thank for that. To those in the community who found me when I was a baby simblr and reblogged me, or those who encouraged me when getting more than 10 notes a post was an exciting feat. To anyone who has enjoyed a single picture or a single post, to the casual readers, and those who have jumped aboard along the way.
I am grateful for every interaction. Every single like and comment and reblog brings joy to my day and inspiration to continue creating. But a very special thank you to those I see in my notes every story post, who have been here from the beginning or gone back to read the story despite having literally hundreds of posts to go through. To those that know my characters and take the time to comment on them with emotion and investment. For all the joy this community brings me, those are the moments when I’m really stunned at my presence here and this little space you’ve all helped me create, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you all ❤️

Happy almost new year!
Yesterday I posted that whole "Top 10 Tumblr posts" but while that was fun to see, I figured I'd go through things I felt was a great accomplishment of this year for me. And some new years resolutions ;)
Accomplishments of 2023:
I made a website!
I know it's tiny and that it's not really great (yet) for getting tons of views, but I do want to thank everyone (I actually typed out all the names but tumblr was being stupid and I couldn't post the post then :/) for either giving it a try or using it. Without you, it would've just been a floating idea with no purpose. :) Thank you so much for believing in it!
I created a new sims story!
Gone a bit back to my original Simblr roots and made a story! Chapter 1 had been in my screenshots folder for over 2 years now, but I was just self-conscious about sharing it. I'm glad I actually got to terms that the only way to know if people will like it, is by sharing it. :)
Came back to Tumblr fully again.
Over those 2 years I hadn't really been on Tumblr much. I'd post my mod posts and that was it. Truth be told, I didn't really have much motivation to do TS3 stuff anymore at that time. But I think in the end I forgot how fun it can be :) I know I suck at interacting with people, though my anxiety often gets the best of me, and I'm genuinely sorry about that! I'm hoping to change that next year with some help.
New Year's resolutions:
I know most people probably didn't get through the whole thing because I type a lot, but if you do, hey there :)
Making Simblr.cc feel more personalized
I feel like currently it feels very download-oriented, which I'd like to keep! But that vibe also seems to be around with the more picture - oriented things. So I just want to make part of that feel more Tumblr-ish where it's just your personalized space. :)
Starting to sell stickers (and such)!
I know, kind of clique thing that everyone seems to be doing now and then, but I have seriously been loving to draw a lot. Though, my creative outlet only seems motivated when I do something for someone/something. So I was hoping to not just sell stickers for SImblr.cc as a donation thing, but also to make some of my own. :)
Finishing LISISV
I never intended to make LISISV like those shows that have been around for 20 years and going on. :p I know most of you do, which I love! But I'm not sure if I will be able to, lol.
I was hoping to rewrite the entirety of "Elly" which I did YEARS ago as a wee 14 year old (till I think, like 16?) but that's all basically teenage cringe IMO :p The concept and the characters however I always adored. So who knows!
Figuring out what to do with Interests & Hobbies
I keep promising that I'll finish it "after this mod" and I honestly do open it up, work on it for a little bit but then I start working on a feature and it... just doesn't work with the mod? However, the more I do that, the more 'bland' the mod becomes. So I don't know what do with it anymore 😅 Anyone who knows please help!
Unless you are all okay with remnants of it, which I'm doing currently :)
Making this space mod I have been wanting to do for a while
Not many people know this about me but i'm a huge sci-fi nerd :p And I wondered how hard it would be to make this “colonizing the a planet” space mod in TS3. Though I know that most people probably wouldn't care about that, since TS3 is more about generational things and... not so much about those things. So, who knows.
I guess I just need to sit down with myself and get my shit together, honestly.
Attempting to actually talk to others.
I don't know how people do it... I honestly want to keep tap of everyone I follow but I get so exhausted, if not, my anxiety starts kicking in because "what if I say the wrong things?" It's not just a tumblr thing though, i've been like that since forever, and maybe should just reach out for help for it. I just don't know.
I just feel as of late that people put great effort into commenting on my things and I'm barely there for them. Yet, just know that I am there, that I do think of you, i'm just deleting my sentences over and over again and just giving up. I'm genuinely sorry about that.
Hopefully your year will be nice and may your wishes come true :

The Guide on Starting a Royal Story
Tumblr media
I’m often asked about tips on starting a royal story and I see more and more popping up which is great! So, I thought I’d compile all my tips into another tutorial! More tutorials here.
Storytelling Starters
So, I’d figure I’d start with just starting a story and then dive more deep into the royal parts of it because at the end of the day, your royal story is simply a story. I’m no expert on storytelling but I’ll tell you what’s helped me tell my story for the last two years along with tips I’ve picked up from some great storytellers here on simblr!
Let’s break it up into the 2 major things your story needs - plot and characters.
Plot
Plot is the story in which you want to tell. The thing I love about storytellign on simblr is how your plot can evolve in many different ways. Many of us have no plans to stop telling our stories, so the storylines grow and change with our characters.
To get started with creating a plot, I have an outline that I create for each chapter of my story. I use Google docs and simply write out the scenes and color code them based on if I’ve taken screenshots, drafted posts, or published a post. You don’t have to do it that way but that is what works for me. Others use tools like Milanote, some do their outlines in a notebook. Find what works best to help you work out your plots.
If you need inspiration, there are so many amazing stories here on Simblr. You can find the Royal Directory here. But, you can really get inspired anywhere - tv shows, movies, even from real life. That’s the beauty of inspiration, it can come from anywhere.
Characters
It’s hard to say whether to start with the plot or the characters because they are both so essential to the story. The best thing you can do for your story is to understand your characters. From their personality, likes and dislikes, what makes them tick, what their background is. Stuff that makes a person who they are.
Those attributes that you give your character will work together with your plot. How your character reacts to certain situations based on who they are can even drive your plot. Which is why establishing them both is really important.
Again, inspiration can come from anywhere, simblr, media, or real-life. You can also Google character building questions to help you.
Now, let’s get Royal storytelling specifically! Since this is getting long and will only get longer. I put the rest under the cut!
Tumblr media
Royal Storytelling Starters
Okay, let’s get into the Royal stuff, shall we? There’s quite a few things you want to establish in your story if you’re focusing on a Royal family. Please note that you can always change things as you go and make things up as you go along, but I will say that establishing some things earlier on will help you in the future.
Your Country
The thing about royal families is they govern a whole country of people, usually a country that is completely made up. So, if we’re making up countries, we’ve gotta establish the things that make that country, that country. Here’s some places to start:
1. Names - What is the name of this new land? Does it have other countries, states, cities, capitals? Those also need names. It’s common for a lot of things to have names such as palaces, historical buildings, objects like tiaras. If you struggle with naming things, you can always try a name generator!
2. Geography - What kind of land is this? How big is the land? What about the climate? What kind of seasons does it have? Are there any natural landmarks like mountains, rivers, etc.? I’m terrible at this kind of stuff and made a lot up as I went. And that’s okay! There are even map generators that can help you!
3. Society - What are the people like who live here? Is there anything that bonds them together on a national level? Think state colors, flags, holidays, etc. What’s the population? Are they educated? What kind of work do they do? The best part about this is you can go as in-depth or not as you like!
4. Economy - What kind of system do they use? Capatalism, socialism, etc. Do they import and export goods? What’s the average income? What kind of money do they use? Dollars, pounds, simoleons, etc? Is the economy doing well or poor?
5. History - Your country had to start somewhere. Maybe your story starts at the beginning or hundreds of years later. How was the land founded? How did it go from what it was to what it is today? How old is the country? Are there places where people can learn about the history? Museums, monuments, tv shows, movies, etc.
Now, don’t let these things scare or overwhelm you! Trust me, sometimes these things develop with time and you don’t need to figure it all out before you start. Get a comfortable head start and worldbuild as you go!
Tumblr media
Your Government
Alright, let’s move onto government which I felt had to be it’s own section because there are Royal sims after all. Your country’s government system is important because it will impact your family. So, here’s a few things to consider:
Your Government System - Your probably doing a monarchy system, but there are even different types of monarchies. So it would be a good idea to do a bit of research on which one yours falls under. Keep in mind, that you can even make up your own kind of system. You don’t have to follow what’s already established.
Political Affiliation - Many countries have some sort of party system (ex. Americans have democrat and republicans and a few smaller parties). I know that most people don’t want to get political, but in some instances you may find it neccessary. But, still keep in mind that you can totally make this up.
Laws and Such - Who establishes the laws? Who enforces them? These are some things you need to think of. Is it your royal family or monarch? Do you have some sort of parliament system. This kind of falls within the government system part, but mainly you want to establish the role of your monarchy and those they work with to govern your country.
Your Royal Family
Alright, let’s get to the fun parts - Your Royal Family! This is why you’re here. You want to slap some tiaras on a sim and send them to the next gala! But, hold on a second. Let’s establish a few things in our families first:
Titles - When it comes to royals, titles are very important. Some titles are given based on land ownership, family heritage, birth, etc. You want to give your royals titles and establish how they are styled (ex. Her Majesty or Her Imperial Majesy). You also want to create a system for titles such as if someone dies, who gets their title?
Dress code - You’re going to soon find out that dress plays a huge role in royal sims. Many have strict dress codes. Your dress code can look however you want it to look. You may also want to keep in mind traditional or national type outfits based on your country.
Roles - What exactly does your royal family do for your country? Support causes through engagements, engage in political lawmaking, host foreign diplomats? It’s really up to you. You can create some interested storylines based on duty, as well!
Religion - I added this to Royals because I realize that a lot of Royals base their pretty much entire existence on religion. So, I think it’s important to note. Of course, like politics, it’s a touchy subject so you don’t have to do it. Want to make something up? Go for it! I’ve been using the Jacoban religion from the Sims Medieval which has been much easier! You can find my guide on that here.
Royal Sims Community
Tumblr media
There is an awesome growing community of Royal Simmers! All of which help us tell our stories, collaborate, and overall have fun. So, here’s a few things of note!

In Conclusion
This post is so long, but I thought I’d give some parting advice as you start your journey into the crazy world of Royal Sims!
1. Get a Process Going that Works for You
When it comes to storytelling, it’s probably a fun hobby for you that you want to dedicate time to. My biggest tip is to find a storytelling process that what works for you. I recommend something that allows you to be focused without stifling your creativity. And it’s okay if it changes or if you do things differently from time to time.
2. Take the Pressure Off
It’s easy to put a ton of unneeded pressure on yourself. But, it’s always been important to me to have fun and use this as a creative outlet. Creativity is very fluid. There is no right or wrong way to be creative. Perfection does not equal creativity. It’s also really hard to be creative when you’re miserable.
3. Interact and Find Your People
For me, this one is the hardest one to do and took some time but I’ve made a lot of great friends here! It started with me following their stories and engaging with them, then I started my story and we’d engage with each other, then I headed over to discord for more interaction. And through that process I’ve found a lot of cool people who motivate me and inspire me daily! Don’t be discouraged by people having their own friend groups or feeling like an outsider. All friendships take time to form but if you put the effort in and connect with people genuinely, it’s really awesome and makes storytelling even more fun!
4. Have fun!
I can’t stress this enough! Actually have fun with what you’re doing. Don’t make this creative outlet a job or set ridiculous expectations for yourself. Don’t think your blog needs to be like anyone else’s to fit in. I think most people here can agree that they very much don’t fit in which is why they’ve turned to a space like this. You will go longer and be less bored when you have fun and not pressure yourself.

I'm late to the party! Which is not anything new. I haven't been near my computer this week and I didn't know this was going on, but I definitely want to participate! I have lots to say.
As a pose creator, I have always been openly appreciative of the CC creators as I use so many to go along with my poses. So I want to give a big shout out to them! To name a few: Severinka, Sandy at Around The Sims 3, Danjaley, riveranepondsims, The Bleeding Woodland, RStarSims3, QuizicalGin, Simenpaule, Secrets of the six killers, curious clementine...... But an exceptional thank you goes out to all the creators of stories. To those who use my poses and display them so beautifully! Those who take one pose, and use it in an entirely different theme or situation than I portrayed it or planned it to be used. I love seeing my poses in your stories and you will never know what joy that gives me. Especially discovering someone new! (please tag me!) Stories make the world a better place, allow people to escape their woes and even give hope during troubled times. A laugh or a chuckle can help lift the world and holding a literal character's hand during sad times can help heal the reader too in the best ways. All authors are heroes to me! Happy Simblr Day to you all!

Song of the Day! New Music Friday!
youtube
I realized something...this year will be my 10th...yes, 10th year here. I'll probably make a post about it later but it has given me a thought.
I've been here a long time! I feel like a simblr elder, not sure if that is a good or bad thing but...I am surprised to have been here for so long now that I think on it. Even through some times where I wanted to quit. Each time I restarted my legacy was a moment where I felt like just quitting, except the one with the technical issues. Especially that time where a simblr I was very close mutuals with just stop interacting with me and then blocked me. It was very odd. It always made me feel like someone was saying something about me behind my back which was also odd since...I literally just post my stuff here, reblog other stuff, and try to keep positive energy. I remember thinking at the time, was it something I had done? I couldn't figure out why, I'm socially awkward so I thought maybe that was it...
When I started this simblr, nearly ten years ago, I was not in a good place. I was dealing with pretty bad depression, medicated, suicidal, the whole bit. I might have mentioned that over the years here, I doubt it because I'm pretty guarded, but I think back on it posting was the best thing I could have done then. It was a fun escape and knowing that people saw some value in my writing, even if just a little bit, really helped and it pushed me more and more into writing, which was a good thing. It was something I could focus on. I discovered through this that I have this ability to write and write a lot and here I could play out any story idea I had and I've always had so many come and go.
I'm not sure where I'm going with this one! Sometimes, I just have a thought and it turns into something longer. I would say I'll be here ten years longer but honestly who knows?! I think that's more on tumblr than myself lol as I do love tumblr but I hope there's a better platform in that time to migrate to.
I will say, to all the people that complimented me. That said I inspired them to do this or that, reached out to me, to even those that complimented my writing. Even those that did so and seemed really into my stories until just randomly unfollowing and ignoring me...well, no take backs! I've absorbed all the nice and positive thoughts. Not that they would be reading this any way lol.
So, I guess if you wonder "Why does she keep saying stuff like that!" I guess that's why, maybe its being dramatic but since tumblr/simblr played such a big role in me writing in general I know it meant a lot to me when people have shown me love in any kind of way. Taking things a day at a time is also important to my mental I guess that's why I've always tried to post daily. It's something I've been told years ago to always look forward to something tomorrow and keeping my little legacies going is one small thing in my life that has been pretty consistent.
So yeah! Ten years here will be a cool achievement! If I have the time and have the health maybe ten more years! I feel like even if I became a millionaire I'd still be posting >.< and that millionaire thing is ahem...might be a possibility...life is much better for me now then when I started doing this!
OH! For those new followers, sorry, I do this like 2-4 times a month. I do used my SOTD posts for venting, ranting, talking, whatever!
Also Maria and Araceli tomorrow!
It's always too early to quit. ~ Norman Vincent Peale

hi☺️ when u we’re first starting up ur simblr how did u get ur posts more noticed?? I’m using tags and reposting my posts but nothings happening, I’m not sure whether to just wait a few days but like, this is harder than it seems bro
Hi!
Before I give tips and tricks in what I noticed helped me, let me emphasize that I didn't go into this community trying to be really noticed, especially at the extent I have been. I just wanted to post my stuff and enjoy a community I've always loved watching from the sidelines. So, I guess that helped me not set up expectations of wanting to be noticed, I just posted stuff I loved and people liked it. But I will give you some ideas that I noticed helped me grow!
Be Interactive
If you are not engaging on other people's posts whether it is commenting, reblogging, or even liking stuff in general, you won't gain peers in the community. I'm not saying go comment on every post you see, but if you genuinely like something, let that creator know. No one likes someone who posts and ghosts, we love seeing the personality of the creator shine through.
2. Be Active
I joined the community back in February of 2023 and I have posted every. single. day. NOW, I am not saying do that, but I can 100% promise that being heavily active is a great way at building your own community. People love consistency and they love building a relationship with said creator. If you are posting once a week, the likelihood of anyone seeing your stuff is very slim.
3. Quality over Quantity
Yes, this does backtrack on the previous tip, but people love quality posts. They appreciate the time and effort that goes into it. I have all the programs I use listed in my FAQ to ensure better quality.
4. Drop Your Expectations
Like I said for myself, I didn't join the community wanting nor expecting to gain the following I did. Yes, I knew I'd get some attention, but I'm talking like 2 thousand people or so, and I would still be so happy if that were the case for me!
By going into this with that expectation, it set me up to never really feel that frustration of wondering why no one is seeing my posts or why I get so little likes. I was so grateful for the 45 notes I got on my first ever post and I didn't expect it either. I remember telling my boyfriend how geeked out I was over it!
Lower your expectations, it simply leads to less frustration.
5. Utilize Other Social Media Platforms
Twitter has been a huge growing platform for me, and I personally love it (if you stay out of drama), because you can get to learn so much about your favorite creators, and some can even become your friends.
I have made so many friends through joining the Sims Community on Twitter, and it has been such a great way to push my content and bring those people I meet there to my Tumblr. This also applies to other platforms such as Instagram and TikTok!
6. Have Fun
Post what you love, enjoy other peoples content, and just have a good time. We are all rooting for each other and we all want to see each other bloom on this platform, so please remember that.
I hope these tips & tricks help you and anyone else in the community x

Sims Get To Know Me
Tagged by @damseljamsel @simsdastra 💜 (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)
I put it under a cut because it’s quite long. I didn’t know who to tag because I’m so late to posting this with everything that has been going on.
What’s your favorite sims death? I never thought of this one... Maybe death by pufferfish nigiri because the ghost has a little pufferfish floating inside them and I think that’s cute because I really like puffer fish (not to eat). I’d love to have a little puffer fish buddy with me in the afterlife.
Alpha CC or MaxisMatch? I lean towards MaxisMatch most in my game but I don’t mind the aesthetic of alpha either. There’s some nice alpha stuff out there.
Do you cheat your sims weight? I have only because no matter what I do, toddlers living on the long lifespan always gain a lot of weight (the calorie system in the game is kinda weird) but outside of that I haven’t (although I never adjusted Fern’s weight when she aged up because I just decided not to for no reason whatsoever).
Do you move objects? Yep! I could not live without it in Sims 4.
Favorite Mod? I don’t have one favorite mod so naming one is difficult. I could not enjoy this game without the majority of mods I have. More Traits In CAS is one of my faves because having those extra traits through the life stages has helped create some depth to my sims’ personalities, at least in my mind. It’s helped to keep my interest in playing longer than a few months.
First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack? I bought everything in the order it came out for Sims 1, 2, and 3. For Sims 4 (iirc): Get To Work/Outdoor Retreat/Perfect Patio
Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing? aLIVE.
Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? It’s a tie between Hector and Sophie. (Most of my faves have been born in-game)
Have you made a simself? Yep! Back when it was still just the CAS demo. I don’t have her around anymore though.
Which Sim traits do you give yourself? Social Awkward, Cat Lover, Creative, probably Gloomy too if I’m honest.😅 (But I don’t show that side of me to others, a lot of people think I’m Cheerful. lol)
Which is your favorite EA hair color? That light brown shade that was added around when Snowy Escape came out.
Favorite EA hair? I don’t think I have one.... I have some I don’t care for... I just like that there’s finally a variety of hair types/styles that aren’t just straight hair.
Favorite life stage? I don’t think I have one... I have the most fun when I have a variety of life stages to play (although it can feel overwhelming sometimes).
Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? Gameplay. I don’t mind building in Sims 4 but it’s rare when I’m having a good time doing it.
Are you a CC creator? Nope. I tried to recolour the kids’ bicycles and gave up. lol I might try again but I need the time and focus to do it.
Do you have any simblr friends/ a sim squad? I guess it depends on how those are defined since people define them differently. I do know a lot of really awesome people on here who I enjoy interacting with though. 🙂
What’s your favorite game? Right now it flips between Sims 4 and Genshin Impact. Used to also be Overwatch, which I still enjoy on occasion, but not as much as I used to.
Do you have any sims merch? Nope.
Do you have a YouTube for sims? Nope. I have the charisma of a wilted lettuce.
How has your « sims style » changed throughout your years of playing? I went from creating haunted houses in TS1 to playing legacy style in Sims 2 and beyond (and creating a haunted house by more ethical means). I only ever managed to finish one legacy family to 10 generations and that family will forever be lost somewhere on Live Journal as it should be. (I have a picture chart of all their faces though.)
What’s your origin id? Simbico but I don’t have anything worth looking at on there. It’s usually for my own backups.
Who’s your favorite CC creator? It’s hard because I have so many I like and not just one favorite. 😭 But RavenSim is one of my many favorites because their hair helps make my sims’ infants/toddlers/kids even cuter!
How long have you had simblr? According to my first Sims 3 post, at least since 2011 but I did abandon it for a long time. I was so happy seeing some familiar simblrs still posting when I came back. 😊
How do you edit your pictures? I used to use Photoshop but now I just use Reshade. I use a really old version of Photoshop from 2012 for cropping and stuff but I tend to not do much more than that. I don’t have the time with the amount of pictures I take. lol
What expansion/ gamepack is your favorite? TS1 - Makin’ Magic | TS2 - Open For Business | TS3 - Pets | TS4 - Growing Together, maybe tied with Country Living (the EP that kept bringing me back).

"📩 Simblr question of the day: according to you, what are the most underutilized gameplay features in the sims games you played, dlc included?"
Sharing the SQOTD from @simblr-question-of-the-day. I really liked this question because I'm excited to get more gameplay ideas.
Also, you talked about being busy recently so good luck with everything you are working on!
Yes I have been bit busier lately than I've been in a tick, but that's because I'm trying to be better about working on the book I'm writing!! But please continue to send asks and such, I'm still here and active just posting my own content a bit slower - but I'm still active and lurking about!
As for underutilized gameplay features...
I think the Club feature from Get Together is a really underutilized feature in the Sims. @sojutrait actually has a great guide up on their page that explains how clubs can be used for a more custom, immersive, hands-on gameplay experience.
I also think people don't realize how much fun the sales tables can be: I love doing "yard sales" to get rid of stuff in my sims home (for realistic gameplay), I love creating community lots filled with those sales tables to create a farmer's market/small community festival feel, and I love using them for my free-spirited, rancher, farmer, and homesteader sims specifically so they can sell their goods and rely on that income solely! Also you can create better custom food booths now with Home Chef Hustle and you can build a "food truck" OR like a pop-up ice cream stand at the park, for example. Idk it's just a fun feature to me, and exciting for those who don't think any of the rabbit-hole jobs suit their sim (or for those who want more flexibility in their sims' income without having to buy a whole ass additional community lot business).
The handiness skill as a whole is a gamechanger because of the "upgrade object" feature. The upgrades are actually super helpful and many of them will improve the functionality of the given object, will give custom moodlets, and will even help avoid disaster (fireproofing your dryer in the sims is a must... that shit catches fire if you look at it the wrong way lmaoooo).
The robotics skill is really cool and I love making the servos!! Cute little robot friend/family member and they can help around the house (crucial when you have big families, fun if you're going for a futuristic vibe or eccentric household).
Occults, in my opinion, are an underrated feature of the Sims. I think everyone should add some kind of weird, campy, supernatural shenanigans to their gameplay. Have your sim fall in love with a ghost; have your sim accidentally get bitten by a werewolf or vampire; befriend a mermaid; build a rocket in your backyard and go to space; get abducted and raise an alien; the possibilities are endless! Occults can shake shit up, especially if you're tired of vanilla, realistic gameplay.
FAMILY VACATIONS!!! HONEYMOONS!! FRIEND TRIPS!!! I love taking my sims on vacation and taking photos, making memories, etc. This feature is great too because you can get extended family members to go on vacation with your household and then it'll be a little family reunion (and you'll get moodlets for this as well that are like "The whole family is together" or something like that, it's really cute!). I think because you can literally travel to anywhere at any time without using the vacation feature this becomes really under-utilized, but it's a fun little thing to do!
Custom summer vacation holiday with seasons: depending on your lifespan/how you have your calendar days set up you can make it lasts a few days, a whole week, or even two weeks (so the kids can be off school during that time - I do one week in my saves). I just make the "mandatory events" swimming, grilling, spending time with family, stuff like that! Some days I literally have no mandatory events lol, just a day off school!
Honestly that's all I've got off the top of my head: I use a lot of mods and always have, so it can be hard for me to isolate what is a modded feature and what is just a part of the game itself! I hope one or more of these can help you spice your gameplay up a bit! Thank you for this question as always!!! <3
