Ok so we know these are Leola's bones and we know Aaravos was imprisoned beside them.
Now consider, while he may not have been able to see them from his prison, Aaravos being surrounded by his daughters remains means he was also distinctly aware of them breaking down, decomposing overtime or being touched by other creatures.
Consider an Aaravos who uses his light form to project himself into the waters around his prison and see pieces of his daughter's bones breaking apart. Watching her be slowly buried under the sand or overtake by any manner of plant or creature. Did he feel the ocean floor shift or shake when the first pieces of her ribs fell off?
To make things worse, if her bones are here, and her body fell to earth, that means Aaravos didn't just cry over the crater she fell into, he cried over her body. Or whatever was left of it. Maybe He saw the flesh rot from her bones, but more likely her body burned falling to earth, and he saw her shattered skeleton instead.
Would he have rearranged her bones to lay correctly? Or could he not bring himself to touch any of them?
The more you think about it the worse it gets.

Does leopard still have 3 lives in her final battle? Or was that changed?
Yep. I think she drowned her once, then Leopardstar lunges up refreshed, and she gets the upper paw on Mistyfoot with 2 lives to go.
(MAYBE tw gore, but I really did try to be tasteful about a head being smashed on a rock.)
On her back, splashing and thrashing furiously against Leopardstar's claws dunking her head under, Mistyfoot glimpses a wave breaking just over the tip of a stone-blue rock. Her only chance.
With a surge of power, her claws sink into her leader's golden shoulder and they tumble and roll to the right. Before the tyrant even realizes what's happening, she's yanked up, and then whipped backwards with a wet CRUNCH
And then again
And again
And again, until Mistyfoot can't even make out what's left of her leader anymore. All she can see is that it's a red, brown, and yellow blur, because her eyes burning with salty tears and her whole body is trembling.
She drops the corpse onto the stone and it slides into the water, lifelessly. After a moment it spasms aimlessly one last time, like an insect does after its head is bitten off, unlike the deliberate, agonized throes of Tigerstar suffering through his doomed lives. And then it's still.
There's only the tranquil sound of bubbling water, and Mistyfoot's frenzied panting. Her pounding heart makes it hard to hear either.
The blood is carried off by the shallow water in scarlet swirls, but the lake runs pale red as if it's washing it away. Some were aware of this prophecy, but Mistyfoot was not.
It isn't closure to her, or a fulfillment of divine decree. It's just blood that should be on her paws, slicked away by the complicit river. She wished it could feel like it's over, but she's smart enough to know the truth. Has been through enough terrible events like this to understand what comes next.
Her body will move foward. Her mind will need to consider her deputy. Her paw will come down on code-defying cats like Blackclaw and Greenflower. But her heart will stay here, next to the remains of Leopardstar, the same way another piece of it remains at Stonefur's side across space and time.

today’s topic for discussion: what on earth did Maximus’ soldiers think when they found out he was “dead”? like, their beloved general who fights like a god and is adored by everyone is just… deceased? kicked the bucket? gone on to a better place?
and what did Quintus even tell them to make it believable?? that Maximus died in his sleep of the same “natural causes” Marcus Aurelius died of??? he had an accident with his sword???? he wandered into the forest and never came back?? like what could you possibly tell Maximus’ men that they would believe??

Totally understand where anon was coming from and that there are cultural boundaries, but just to clarify, even in deep romance Mori still wouldn’t want to be called Kaito even in private by MC?
I do think there's a point where it becomes appropriate and more comfortable for mori but it's a Really Far Down the Line thing. Like I know he's not really the type to set heavy weight on marriage but I think he has to really trust MC is there for the long haul and is committed to putting in the work a really long term relationship needs. I also think it would probably be after MC has the opportunity to meet his family too. Mori chronically tries to keep ALLLL his emotional baggage and conflict out of his day to day life so it will be a long journey to the point where he feels that open with MC but I do think it could happen, especially with an MC who's patient and hits it off with his dad when they finally meet him. So not a Marriage Only thing but it definitely requires a significant milestone in commitment.

@nosebleedclub january prompt 3
Let me out.
I’m not gonna fucking say it again after this, so listen and obey. Let. Me. Out.
I don’t know who you think you are, or what you think I am, but I can take a pretty good guess. You are a collector, closing everything in boxes, and I am part of your latest compilation. Nothing more than that, just your latest subject, oh goody! Fuck off. I see you, marveling over me and ooh-ing and screaming and recoiling, adoration and disgust all at once. You're not noticing the tiny details, not even now, when you're staring right at them. Right at me. Look at the cracks. The little breaks of the glass. In the wood. You're just that obsessed, aren't you?
God, I should be the one that's sickened.
But no. Instead I'm… angry, sure, but there's this deep pit in your eyes, like you're all-consumed by this obsession, and I can't help but wonder. Are you okay? What's going on?
I hate sympathy. Always have. Is that why you're so… haunted by me? Is that why you can't stop staring and muttering and pondering?
Is that why you can't let me out? You just left me in the dark again. At least leave the light on when you leave me be, goddamnit. You're stumbling out the door, in tears, thinking I can't hear a single word you're saying. "Why was it that way?" "Why did it have to happen like that?" "Why wasn't it different?" All the same variations on regret.
… Good lord, I wish I could be mad.
The glass just cracked in several places and I'm — fuck, I'm slipping out. I mean, fuck yeah, I'm slipping out, little dark tendrils spilling down the jagged lines. But you won't see me coming. You won't like when I'm outside this door.
Like I said. I hate sympathy. Can't even enjoy freedom with it around.
The post you nailed me to is long gone, so there's nothing nailing my core in place. Every piece of me is all over the place, either inside the frame or outside.
And eventually, I'm out. All out, a vortex, a void, an abyss full of everything painful and nothing at once.
Apparently you have excellent timing, because you decide that's the time to walk right back in — gaps between visits have been getting shorter — tears barely dry before they start running again.
You don't even stop me when I slither past. You just scream, endlessly, haunted and paralyzed.
....
I hate sympathy.

Something that I was thinking about today. I see people all the time talking about how culture glorifies suffering. As though there is something noble about feeling pain. Like torment could bring about salvation.
"You've been so strong." Of course they have been; it was either that or die.
It is a tragedy when a person suffers, feels pain, or struggles. Pain should neither be sought, nor glorified.
However.
We must take care that we do not diminish the tough decisions people make in the face of pain. Let me explain:
It is not noble for a person to experience pain or to suffer. It is a tragedy, and they should never have to experience that. In those situations, we ought to do our best to bear their burdens alongside them, so much as they will allow it.
And this gets more to the crux of what I mean. To inflict pain and suffering upon oneself is not noble, nor does it bring any measure of atonement. What is noble is to give of yourself to bring some measure of relief to another who is in pain.
Pain is not something to aspire towards, but the attitude of one who is willing to bear pain for the sake of another is.
I think of Talenelat. It is a tragedy that the Heralds left him to bear the pain of Damnation alone. But it is heroic that, knowing that relief from his pain would bring untold death and destruction, his resolve never faltered. He bore the pain so that others would not have to.
I think of Emiya Shirou. It is a tragedy that he spent his life believing that he had no value outside of what he could do for others. But it is heroic that, looking to the future and seeing the pain he would have to bear to save the world, he still chose to walk that path. He took untold suffering upon himself, so that countless lives might be spared.
I think of Vyke, the Dragonspear. It is a tragedy that his god left him a broken world, devoid of hope or light. It was a tragedy for him to bear the knowledge that someone would have to burn for the world to be renewed. But it is heroic that, with this knowledge, he elected that he would be the one to burn. Him and no other. And when the Frenzy threatened to consume him, his final act of lucidity was to seal himself away, where he could not harm the world he sought to save.
I think of the Salamanders. In a world full of tragedy and pain, they choose to sacrifice their own lives to spare the lives of ordinary citizens. Though any objective metric would count the lives of the Emperor's Angels as far more valuable, nonetheless they never lose sight of the fact that they fight to preserve the lives of the common man.
I think most of all of Jesus Christ. I think of how He knelt in the Garden of Gethsemane sweating blood, for so great was His pain. How He cried out to the Father, begging for there to be another way to accomplish the salvation of humanity. And yet, knowing that this was His purpose, He stood and went to His death. An innocent man: beaten, flogged, and hung upon a cross, all so that He could bear the sins of the world.
No, it is not noble or holy to seek out pain and suffering. Denial of self does not bring atonement, as the Puritans believed. The suffering of one burned at the stake does not bring salvation, as the Inquisition taught. Suffering for the sake of suffering does nothing but bring yet more darkness into an already dark world.
But to sacrifice for the sake of others? To gladly give of oneself to allow your fellow human a moment of respite? This is noble. This is strength. This is the Will of God.
Yet often, this does not take so dramatic a form. One may dream of laying down one's life to protect another, but how often does life proffer such opportunities? No, the love of sacrificing for others often takes simpler forms: a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, a meal for the hungry, a helping hand.
It is in these things that we prove our love to each other, but one must not confuse my meaning: just as suffering is not itself noble, neither is it noble to refuse help in the pursuit of helping others more.
Do not deny your fellow the opportunity to love you in the way that you have loved them. We bear each other's burdens, confident that one day, when we have not the strength to carry on, others will be there to help bear our burdens.
And if I sound melodramatic, comparing such simple acts of kindness to great sacrifices of fiction and religion, know only that I speak from my heart. I bring before you these examples because they are the examples which inspire me. My Savior gave His life, His blood, His all for my salvation, nay, the salvation of the world. How else can I show my gratitude, but by sharing that same love with others?
Suffering is not noble, but when we partake in the noble purpose of sharing each other's pain, then together we can carry far more than we ever could have apart.
So if you take away nothing else, know this: God loves you, I love you, and I am here for you if you need me.
