What other muses did you wish to add to your roster but never did? ( and why did you want to muse them? and why didn't you end up adding them? )

oh boy there's actually a lot of them even keeping it contained to just baccano! characters!!

i'd have to throw out molsa martillo, esperanza c. boroñal, donatello, the poet, and kalia gandor as answers first ... i HAVE actually written all of these characters before on different baccano! blogs of mine, but ultimately when i was making this blog i decided to cut them off because they tended to be difficult for me to write---and kalia never actually appears in the series except for mentions anyway, so it wasn't really that big of a loss. i think mostly the reason i had them in the first place was because there were other active baccano! writers to play them off, but ... well. i feel like i have more leeway to NOT write characters i don't want to write as much when i'm the only one writing for the fandom anyway.

aaaand now on the the characters i've ACTUALLY never written:

carl dignis! i love a good investigative journalist type, and the tone of volume 16 in general is well suited to my tastes. he's not on my roster because he didn't come to mind when i started making my carrd, and now i'm like ... i dread adding MORE bios to my to be completed list, especially with how complex my bios over here actually are. it's possible i add him here in the future though!

miria harvent! to be honest i ALWAYS feel a little guilty for writing isaac and not miria since they're a package deal, so when i've considered adding her it's usually for that reason. i mostly have shied away from adding her because i don't want to always have to carry the weight of two muses in ask responses, and it's always more fun to throw my isaac at OTHER people who write miria anyway.

in terms of some of my other fandoms since i've at least GOT another multi...

from hellaverse, i actually have a non-zero desire to muse husk. i like characters who are gamblers, i like designs that incorporate cats, and i generally just really enjoy his vibe. i DON'T write him because i have a very odd tendency to sideline my own portrayals when anyone else writes a character that i write, ever, under any circumstances ... it doesn't help that there are a LOT of people i either interact with or see on my various dashes who write him very well already, and i take a probably-unhealthy approach to picking up characters sometimes that's based on the actual demand for those muses in the rpc ... alas this is just not in the cards for me ever.

from bungou stray dogs, i've been thinking about musing kunikida recently. he's been on my mind and i don't know why because i've literally never written him before. i honestly couldn't give you a reason other than the urge is there right now. as for why i'm not musing him it's because i'm the number ONE hater of bungou stray dogs and i refuse to pick up another character from it out of sheer spite.

from the witcher, stefan skellen! he's a book character and one of my favorites from the nilfgaardian cast, and i have actually written him before. well. "written". i featured him on my blog and never actually got to write him, because nobody ever asked for him. which is also why he's not on boundlss today </3

... well. haha. i don't really want to name names in this situation because i think the foremost person i really miss writing with in the sense that we don't talk at all anymore about muses ever is someone you can probably guess. in retrospect there were a lot of problems with that interaction but i can't claim not to miss it.

on a less personal note ... um, i can't remember the url but quite a long time ago now there was someone in the bungou stray dogs rpc who had an oc for jane austen. actually i don't think we talked at all outside of that but i had some really awesome interactions with them that i actually still think about to this day, so that will be my non-personal answer i can actually elaborate about publicly without feeling guilty. they stopped writing on that blog over time and i don't remember if they moved elsewhere.

🎾 what type of genre of roleplay i prefer to write

hehe. it might not surprise you but i like things that are plot-heavy. while i don't like combative, action-related threads because i'm bad at combat, i like things that involve some manner of extended storyline. i think maybe just general interpersonal conflicts are probably my favorite things but i don't mind involving external threats either. i don't know. that's not really a genre, is it...

well okay. i don't just want normal slice of life but i still want it to be relationship focused while also having a wider plot. generally. urgh. it's a vague response but this question is really hard for me to answer.

🛍 the one thing i wish all of my followers knew about me

that i really do want to write with them and my reasons for not doing so!

i really do struggle to reach out to people when it comes to things like this and. well. YOU know why perfectly well, but i think a lot of people don't have context for my situation and i sometimes would just like to explain it so it seems less silly. the tl;dr of it is that when i was first really getting into dedicated para rp as a younger teenager, i was stuck with two roleplayers who really just didn't like me and refused to let me write any characters other than the background characters to their relationships.

a LOT of my roleplaying habits stem from that---for instance, i almost completely favor background or secondary characters on my blog for this reason, and i have a hard time with duplicates because i worry that i'm never really going to have an "important" portrayal of a character in comparison to literally anyone else ...

it's why i'm struggling to interact with a lot of my hellaverse muses right now because that sort of thing has left me with a really big fear of, um. showing up to communities and just writing a popular muse. i'm mostly afraid i'll get completely ignored, hahahah.

RP EXPERIENCE / HOW LONG: honestly a good while. i started rping seriously way back on a site called quotev when i was like... 10? 11? something like that. i’ve been writing on tumblr for about 5 years now, i think.

BEST EXPERIENCE: definitely my early days of being in the bungou stray dogs rpc when it was super bustling. i made most of my current friends there and had so many nice interactions with the people around me! not to mention i picked up my favorite muse, mark twain, on a whim during that time... it was just very good. i miss those days sometimes!

PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS: it makes me REALLY annoyed when someone follows me back and i attempt to reach out to them only for them to ignore me. i don’t really understand why you’d follow back if you don’t want to interact, you know? on a completely different note, something that can turn me off of writing with someone i ALREADY write with is constant complaints about not getting any interactions from anyone whatsoever, especially when you ARE getting interactions. it just makes the people who are writing with you feel a little worthless.

FLUFF, ANGST, OR SMUT: between the three? fluff. but my honest answer is none of the above! i like heavy plots with multiple or all three of them present. my focus is on the building of relationships whether they be positive, negative, or anywhere in between!

PLOTS OR MEMES: i don’t mind either, but if you know me well you know i’m a sucker for plotting that gets way out of hand and suddenly we have entire arcs plotted out for our muses. that said, memes are easy as a jumping-off point after establishing some basics, and they give a good idea of what a dynamic will be like... haha, i really can’t choose.

BEST TIME TO WRITE: afternoon! i tend to cram my writing into my workday so i can work on other projects at home---aside from this, i’m also an artist with a goal as well as a new editor on the baccano! wiki, so i like to have my post-work evenings free.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE: i don’t think it would be possible for me to write a muse i couldn’t draw from my own experiences with in some way. in a lot of ways, there is a little part of me in every character i write, no matter how out-there they might seem. i think the biggest victim of my projecting has probably been twain. but, um, and i doubt this needs saying, i am not all that similar to a lot of my muses, no.

vi. there are certain fandoms i’m not particularly comfortable interacting with unless we're close. it's nothing against you if you write a muse from there, but i have had a few experiences with fandoms that does not make me want to interact with them. in general, the ones that are worth naming: harry potter, stranger things, attack on titan. if you're a multimuse, then you're exempt from this.

vii. since we're talking about following, do not follow me if you’re racist, homophobic, transphobic, islamophobic, a pedophile, etc or support any of those things. stay away from me. free palestine. there are obviously a lot of " problematic " fcs, so i won't be listing every single fc, but to summarize: don't follow me if your fc is a zionist, racist, transphobic, or did something awful in general.

viii. unless we are close friends (and please do ask before assuming), please refrain from using she / her pronouns with me and use he / they more. the same goes for feminine terms, but i am more lenient with that.

ix. this blog's focus is not shipping. while i am multiship, i am more interested in developing ranpo as a character and other dynamics for him, be it platonic, rivals, etc. that being said, chemistry must be there for us to do something between our muses.

as a matter of fact, i have! aside from twain, who i won't count out of fairness, i have a good few fandom affiliated ocs that i have and have not written on tumblr. camille renaudin, for instance, started out as a genshin impact oc, but she's more fandomless these days. i also have connor torra for baccano, leslaw and cyran (originally) for the witcher, and luminous for log horizon---although, admittedly, that's about all. i'm actually really terrible at making ocs for fandoms because i have very rigid standards for myself about how much canon disruption is acceptable.

as for the ocs i haven't brought to my multi (yet), i also have past witcher ocs like owain, and my main bg3 tav iarai to be added when i finish that playthrough.

yes, absolutely!

admittedly, most of these are dnd related ocs. the usual suspects i write with are more of canon writers so i don't have a lot of experience on tumblr specifically developing relationships, but that isn't to say it hasn't happened.

the main one is obviously my writing of luminous. i don't discuss him much because nobody has an interest in him, but he was originally meant to be a minor npc in the log horizon campaign i used to run---one of my players liked him so much that his character completely expanded and he ended up being one of my favorite characters i've played, ever. connor torra is similar in this respect---the campaign i was playing him in ended after a few sessions, but i think his interactions with meechi and dionisio really shaped how i aim to portray him on my blog vs how he was played ingame.

oh, and back in the day, there was a person in the bungou stray dogs rpc who had an oc for jane austen. i don't interact with the writer anymore but that blog influenced my eventual slide into a more serious and well-rounded portrayal of twain that you see today.

14. which roleplay community has been your favorite to write in?

i answered a question like this the other day! it was baccano! of course but i may as well take this opportunity to expand on my answer and what specifically about the communities i've written in i liked and didn't. i think with the inclusion of baccano! i would say that i have written properly within five communities. i think maybe i'll rank them. yeah, i decided it would be a good idea to do that.

baccano! - the smallest of the communities. with the exception of one person, i was usually interacting with every concurrent person actively writing baccano! since i started writing it myself. but that was what was fun about it! we were all friends and there was never any fuss about duplicates or shipping drama because it's a 2003 light novel series about alchemists and american-italian crime syndicates in the 1930's like how much are you willing to dramatize things there lmao. anyway, i liked how much we all genuinely liked writing with eachother there, and how into baccano! everyone was at the time!

bungou stray dogs - although i am specifically talking about the way the community was when i first joined it since that was really the only time i was ACTUALLY engaged with it. it was my second rpc on tumblr and i really, really have a lot of fond memories. it spawned my favorite muse ever that i still write to this day and most of my current rp friends are people i met when i joined there back in 2018. we don't talk about the reconnaissance i was part of it did not happen.

the witcher - i would actually consider this community to be extremely middle of the road. i don't have anything against most of the people i interacted with when i was fully entrenched into the community and wrote nowhere else, but i also think i was engaging with the story in a different way than most people who were writing it, and ultimately there was a weird combination of one half of the community over-moralizing things and the other half being just absolute complete wild cards, and literally nobody except for like three people who i still think of fondly ever actually read the books in full, but everyone definitely pretended they did.

my hero academia - actually this was my first rpc on tumblr and it was the mixiest of mixed bags. at the time i wrote a character for 6 straight months who literally no one else wrote at any point despite there being, like, 500 people in the community at the time. i got called out twice for two completely different bullshit reasons but everyone loved me because i was the only blog for my favorite guy. like if you were in that community around 2018 then there's a good chance we interacted because i followed literally everyone and participated in everything.

genshin impact - aside from the fact that there was a very pervasive problem of actual real life racism the people in this rpc were just extremely pretentious and elitist and constantly made me feel like they thought they were better than me. hands down the worst community i have ever written in, like i would prefer the puritanical attitude and callouts of the bnha fandom to the stuff i experienced secondhand in the genpact community. this is actually part of the reason i don't play anymore.

Is there any fandom you regret exploring?

Mmm. Yes? For a variety of reasons.

Vanitas no Carte comes to mind first. It’s not that I regret initially exploring it---I think I was one of the first people to have written the muse I did on tumblr at all, so I’ve been there for a long time. But I regret delving back in after the anime was adapted, because it honestly made me come across the most strangely toxic group of people I have ever seen.

Similarly, though I made a lot of connections through Bungou Stray Dogs, if I could keep those friends without being in that rpc, I would. It became a pretty vile place after a while, and I don’t like the way the fandom at large talks about some of the characters who have committed some pretty serious abuse towards others.

Every individual has their own story, their own struggles, and their own goals they strive for. Many muses have more than one verse (if nothing else, most have a Pokémon verse).

@neodarkdark — a singlemuse featuring a multifandom original character, Svern, who was first inspired by Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia. Explores what it is to live life as an enigma, to perpetually play pretend, to fool others into seeing something where there is nothing, and what happens when at last you find something capable of filling the unfillable void.
