The first one (white and stainless steel) is mine. Not exactly the layout we would have, but I love the traditional cabinetry and stainless steel under the stove. She hates the traditional style but is fine with the steel accents.
The second set is My wife‘s preference. Our kitchen is in it’s own room so it will be L shaped so this is closer to the format. I don’t no d the build but I don’t like plain flat surfaces.
What we do agree on:
1) a doubled oven at counter height. It took me a bit to convince her of the double oven but I just need more space!! I want to roast my turkey AND bake my pie at the same time.
2) an exhaust fan that has a cabinet with a spice rack build in front. Our current exhaust fan is just a huge waste of space.
3) wine refrigerator to chill her socialist sekt and actual wine haha. We also live in a wine region and would like to explore their selections more.
4) larger stove (my pots overhang the burners and I hate it). We maybe go for an induction stove but I don’t know… has anyone cooked on one before? We use stainless steel pots and pans so temperature control is extremely important to keep food from sticking.
Generally we agree on all the electronics and practical cooking devices but our taste in design is always so difficult. It’s comical how polar opposite they are.
#I really wish I knew someone with an induction stove#I also wouldn’t mind a built in coffee maker bit honestly#I don’t make anything fancier than drip coffee

my first time playing sims 3, i built my sims a house. i didn't like any of the flooring options (and building the house was more expensive than i'd thought it would be), so i left the floor unfinished. my sims constantly complained about their home being unfinished. i assumed they wanted decoration and furniture. they lived unhappily in a house where every wall was filled with art, there was barely any walking space for all the furniture, and the floor was unfinished concrete
#tia text#my plan had been to build the house upwards but i couldn't figure out how stairs worked in the sims#so i built a second floor with a set of stairs that didn't work#sometimes i'd teleport sims to be trapped on the second floor#sometimes their friends would walk up the useless stairs and stand at the top of them#while their trapped friend paced the second floor & thought of footprints#eventually the house caught fire after i put a stove on the second floor & the fire department couldn't get up there to extinguish it

I miss when houses and trailers and apartments were built with at least a little bit of love
#sinth#ok the walls are white the fake wood tile is grey this place is built like a morgue. 1500 dollar rent. the other one has a black stovetop#instead of white. stove grates used to be made with different patterns. the place i lived in that was built in the 70s had plaster flowers#on the ceiling. the kitchen linoleum was green. this is clean its corporate its perfectly bland and unfeeling and unstimulating#project whatever youd like onto it. it was built in two months. inspection every third.#we'll tear it down and build one that looks exactly the same it its place when its veen five years and you move out. maybe the stovetop will#be black again.

reading the discourse in the notes of that gas vs electric stove . so crazy to see people so insanely opinionated over something kind of ridiculous. there was a guy in there hating on "ignorant liberals" for preferring electric stoves.
#my conclusion is i do not want gas in my house . scrary#maybe gas stoves would work better at a restaurant. cooks better and a restaurant is usually not a house someone lives in and#also for gas stoves you really need good ventilation due to you know. The Gas. and restaurants are built for stoves. for cooking.#because they are restaurants. but if your just some average person wanting a stove for your house to cook breakfast#an electric stove will work just fine.#and will probably not poison you or set your house on fire so easily

hey you are cool mutual i enjoy having and im sorry you aren't feeling 100% groovy! what are some of your favorite memories from when you were a child?
HMM oh god lemme think. i remember when i used to go to school in like. 1st grade being on the playground with a friend talking about video games we liked to play.
and when i was… 11 probably, we were remodeling a part of our house (well my dad was, i was handing him tools occasionally) and we talked for hours about dinosaurs. i also remember my dad had a room in the basement, it was supposed to be a workout room but we kind of just hung out down there talking about movies and singing old songs. fun times.
oh man i nearly forgot, one of my favorite ones. when the first avengers movie i think it was came out, me and my dad went to a midnight showing of it. there was barely anyone else there cuz it had been out for a few weeks so we went all the way to the back. when we left there was nobody else on the freeway, just us. that was really cool. we always went to the transformers and marvel movies together
#later that room became my bedroom. we fixed it up and everything#i had it for less than a hear before we moved away#i miss that house#i miss our front porch and garden and the built in shelves#and the crooked floors and doors that never closed right#and the old pellet stove#i can remember the sound the pellets made when my dad poured them in#i remember staring into the fire pretending i was a dragon#people talking to me#god

number one thing i like having my own apartment about is that the kitchen is organized to my exact standards. for instance: nothing except extremely once-in-a-while items are stored above the lowest level of the cabinets.
#lobster's adventures#there's an entire cabinet above the fridge that I straight up don't use because it's impossible for my short ass to access it#i use the top of the fridge for storage instead#the kitchen is super tiny but in a way that makes it very efficient when you have things organized properly#like there's exactly one drawer and a 3/4 size dishwasher and stove. and yet a big sink and really deep counter space and a built in pantry#but humorously a full-size fridge that kitchen was not built for. so they had to hack out the bottom lip of the cabinets#and it sits an inch onto the carpet lol

does anyone have advice for how to clean the underneath of an electric coil stove
#online says they usually flip up but this thing is so old that the top is bolted down so the only way to clean in there is by sticking your#hand in where the drip pans come out but like. there’s exposed wires there that seems unsafe#it also has years of crud built up on it because this is like. a student basement suite#and the landlords were supposed to replace it because it’s old asf and impossible to clean and the door doesn’t properly close but#the dryer crapped out so they replaced that (and the working washer for some reason?) and then turned around and told me and my roomate#yeah we’re not replacing the stove you just have to clean it and the door doesn’t close so just don’t bake i guess lol#like bro are you not concerned that this thing is a fire hazard? it’s probably older than both of us combined#it’s a weird size so hard to replace but like. not impossible. my mom called a couple restores and they said they occasionally get ones in#that size#eve.txt

The landlord is doing “walk throughs” to check the condition of all apartments to prepare “our vendors” for summer move outs and of course in trying to clean the weird discolored stove top before they come I manage to take a whole piece of the top coating off
