Finally, some actual information.

There has been an email sent out to FIRST members and a post on Reddit informing people about how Red vs. Blue: Restoration will be released.

TL;DR: Season 19 will be coming out in 2024. There will be seven episodes, released both as a weekly series exclusively for FIRST members and as a full movie, available for purchase on the same day the first episode comes out. It is not said if/when episodes will be released to the public.

We have important news about Red vs. Blue: Restoration!

Hey everyone, Alok from the Marketing team at Rooster Teeth here! I got a couple updates about Red vs. Blue: Restoration for y'all.

Restoration is the Final Season of Red vs. Blue! That’s right, the internet’s longest-running web series is coming to a close after 20 incredible years. We’re holding nothing back! Burnie Burns is back to write the season, with Matt Hullum stepping back into the Director’s chair for the epic conclusion of everyone’s favorite Blood Gulch residents.

While we initially announced Restoration was releasing this Fall, we had to push back the launch to 2024. We’re taking that extra time to make the release as awesome as we can. We’re also excited to announce that we’ve partnered with Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, which allows us to release Restoration as a feature-length film AND episodic season!

Red vs. Blue: Restoration will be available for purchase digitally as a film, and the season will be released episodically on Rooster Teeth exclusively for FIRST Patrons. The premiere episode will come out the same day as the movie release, and the show will continue to release weekly for a grand total of seven episodes. Red vs. Blue has always been possible because of the support from FIRST. There will be extra benefits to watching for FIRST patrons, like bonus content and behind-the-scenes perspectives of making the final season. How do you think Diego and Lila first met? Like we know it was in the asylum but it seems like they’re already quite familiar with each other by the time we see them together.

Oh anon, I'm going to give you the laziest response, but I'll just copy a bit of @pepper's writing in for you because in my head this is 100% canon now. It's from a two chapter fic called Has My Midnight Begun? And yeah, they def spent time together for a while before we meet them at the start of S2

The trick to it is to take your pills like a good girl for the first week or so, and then they stop watching you so closely. The sedatives make her vomit at first, but once she gets used to it, she goes around in a pleasant haze for a while, and it's sort of like a holiday.

She's intending to keep away from him at this point, but she's sitting on a bench against the wall one day, staring in fascination at her cardigan and trying to follow a thread all the way through (is it really just one thing? That's amazing, right? She's wearing a string), when a couple of guards—sorry, 'orderlies'—drop someone next to her. By the time she remembers how to look up, they've gone, and the person next to her is sliding slowly down, his head coming to rest heavily on her shoulder.

It's…the guy. The one she's not supposed to meet while she's fucking high as a kite. "Oops," she says, and giggles. "Oops," she says again, because it's a funny word. "Oooooooops. Boops." She presses his nose, which wrinkles, but otherwise he doesn't react. "Diego," she says, although she's probably not supposed to know that yet. No response. "Blink once for yes, twice for…" She's forgotten the rest.

He does blink, but she's pretty sure it's just a coincidence. He slides further, like he's forgotten how to hold himself up, until he's slumped sideways in her lap. She takes the opportunity to look him over. His hair and beard are growing out into a straggly mess, but it looks like they might have previously been kept pretty neat. If he wasn't such a disaster right now—face slack, eyes vacant, in severe need of a shower, some fresh clothes, and a bit of personal grooming—and if he wasn't her target, he might even be cute.

She pats the side of his head. "You're pretty," she tells him. Everyone likes compliments, right? "Now you tell me I'm pretty."

"Buhhhhhhhhhhh…" he says.

He really needs someone to take care of him. "You're a mess," she says. Suddenly feeling completely worn out, she rests her head on top of his.

When the pills begin to wear off a little, probably an hour or so later, she finds herself still seated next to him. They're slumped against one another, and she's not really sure if she had a nap, or if she just zoned out. He still seems out of it, probably because he fights them, so they hold him down and give him the needle. He's drooling a little on her cardigan. Slowly, because her muscles are still asleep, she pushes him off of her, and he tips the other way like the world's slowest metronome.

Metronome. Metro…gnome? Met-tron-oh-mee…

She staggers upright, and weaves off across the day room in search of a glass of water to quench her thirst, which is both raging and very, very far away. [...]

i fucking hated the start of last semester and this one isn’t looking much better

my brain feels so out of it while it adapts to new routines and i can barely think straight. that project i posted about two days ago? still fucking working on it because i can’t focus long enough to do what i need to!

not to mention that the clothes and stuff i moved in with are all still in the same pile i put them in when i moved back. i just... can’t drum up the motivation to put everything in its place and that’s how i know things are Getting Bad

i just want to function. i don’t want to keep procrastinating on my responsibilities, but even now while i’m working on things to be productive i’m still not getting anything done and i just feel bad .-. buhhhhhhhhhhh

i’m not like this when i’m with my friends but i can only handle so much social time and then when i’m left with just my thoughts i can’t do everything i want and either hyperfixate on minor issues or just apathetically shutdown
