Okay, so I normally wouldn’t do this, but this post genuinely pissed me the fuck off. I blocked out identifying information of the person because it’s not about this person, it’s about the general misinformation spread by these people. Please do not harass this person, this post is clearly engagement bait, which is what ultimately made me decide to do it this way.

Religious forms of plurality has existed and been known about far longer then DID has. Not just Tibetan Buddism. Which just shows you haven’t done any fucking research whatsoever. That’s pretty typical for posts like this, but still.

“Support actual victims” A lot of endogenic systems have trauma as well, but you deny them the right to exist because the trauma isn’t valid to you. It isn’t the “right” way. A lot of endogenic systems form alters to because there brain isn’t shielding them from the trauma by forming DID or OSDD, or a different form of plurality, so they fucking do it themselves. But no, they don’t fit your narrow views of plurality so therefore ��to bad, so sad, you don’t deserve support” A lot of systems are Trauma-Endo, but that trauma isn’t real enough to you because you have decided “I don’t experience this, so it doesn’t exist” same fucking argument is used against queer people, people with invisible disabilities, (which DID can be, and we consider it one for ourselves personally, that doesn’t mean it is for everyone) and basically every fucking Minority.

Even if endogenic systems have no trauma, which does happen, why are you against them having a safe space??? That means they won’t be in your safe spaces because they have separate ones?!?!

I assume the persecutor thing is something to fall back on “Oh my persecutor said it, it wasn’t me!!!” As a persecutor myself, I don’t give a shit if you are a persecutor, or a caregiver, or whatever. You still are responsible for what you say and do. You are still responsible for what your alters say and do.

I assume this person is saying endogenic systems have factious disorder or something, but guess the fuck what. People with factious disorder deserve safe spaces too. Factious disorder is a real fucking disorder not just a quirky thing to call people. They deserve help and therapy with factious disorder, like you deserve treatment for DID.

Also as a final thing to add, it’s funny how sysmeds complain about how endogenic systems go on tags for them, when they don’t want to see it, and then purposely try to make upsetting post and using the tags used by the community so they see them and get triggered.

Endogenic systems have done nothing fucking wrong to you by existing.

Who & What are the Gods?

Okay! So, you want to work with and/or worship a deity. That’s absolutely, positively amazing; and I truly in my heart of hearts believe you should do that. Once you’ve done extensive research on who they are, what they do, their mythologies, possibly some cultural history; and you know what, let’s throw in some research on the current state of wherever they’ve originated from!

With that all out of the way; I have a question. And I’ll be opening the floor to anybody and everybody who wants to answer this question of mine. My question is as follows; who and what are the Gods? I’m asking this question simply because I get a whole bunch of dirty looks, and people tell me my belief just “can’t be true,” almost as if they are saying it’s impossible for my belief to be true.

If you are wondering what my belief is, I’ll tell you. Personally, I think the Gods are just something that the ancient “humans”, way before we could document the first ever cave drawings, manifested(?) I’m not sure if that’s the right word for this, but please hear me out. I believe this because why would any all-powerful being want to be in a place where they are not believed in by all the inhabitants, first of all; and second of all, why would they want to aid us in any way, shape or form? By nature, us humans are parasitic. It’s gotten to the point where we’ve caused visible changes in our home planet; I mean, we’re destroying the ecosystems of countless animals, plants, and other humans… shall I go on? So, because no one wants(or even can) take the blame for causing our planet to slowly become an uninhabitable inferno; because it truly was and still is a collective, group effort… the gods were created to “save us from ourselves.”  I’m not saying I don’t believe in them, because I do! But, the way we go about them, how we talk to/about them; that portion does not make sense to me. And, I’d like to hear everybody else's opinions!

The promise of a "new creation" is available to anyone who will trust in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). A green chinese dragon called Hakkai is now currently living with Sanzo ( a human ) and acts like a maid/housewife in Sanzo’s apartment ( or wherever he lives ). Just like Tohru, a dragon maid who serves Kobayashi, Hakkai has a set of dragon horns on his head and a green dragon tail just at the end of his spine. He can hide them if he wants but chooses not too as most people believe he’s ' cosplaying ’. 

Hakkai is quite informed with human’s technology, but there are a few things he doesn’t understand but that doesn’t mean he won’t learn. 

Of course, Goku & Gojyo are dragons too. I’m not sure what kind, though that’s up to the people who roleplay as goku or gojyo~

I don't know why I'm here engaging again with this mind-numbing discourse about "attachment" in SW, but here I am.

I'm not sure why the pro-Jedi folks act like the Jedi-critical folks are unaware or deny the fact that Anakin had major emotional problems with attachment and that he made some things worse for himself. We've always known that and never denied it. What we're saying is that the Jedi teachings did NOT help Anakin. They even made his emotional wounds much worse (tearing him off from his enslaved mother and forbidding him from contacting her at all, not even to make sure she was alive). Could some of these teachings have helped Anakin? Sure, why not? But having a useful teaching method work in theory is widely different from applying this teaching to the learner's unique, individual needs. The Jedi did NOT consider Anakin's unique, individual needs. They treated him like any youngling who had no memory of any life outside of the Jedi.

I wish I could see one pro-Jedi argument that doesn't treat normal reactions to severe childhood trauma as moral failings. Pro-Jedi folks tend to grossly minimize the life-long, hard-to-cope-with effects of these traumas (look at that person's tags. how are they not grossly insensitive?). That's one of the major problems that all spiritual and religious institutions that dismiss the very concept of mental health. So no, insisting that the Jedi were not wrong because Buddism this and Buddism that is dismissive and insulting.

These tags by @clonecumber​ on this post about Jedi reminded me of something about the concept of “attachment” in Buddhism that might be interesting and helpful for thinking about it in Star Wars, especially with regard to Anakin.

So, for the Buddhist concept, the word that’s being translated in English as “attachment” is upadana. The literal meaning of upadana in the Pali language is “fuel,” but in an abstract sense you’ll see it translated as “clinging” or “grasping.” 

Buddhism says that there’s a set of factors that goes into how a person experiences and interacts with the world, or part of how they construct their identity and the idea of ‘self.’ In Pali this is kandha and translated with words like “aggregate” or “bundle,” coming from the sense of a bundle of stems/branches or the trunk as the union/aggregate of all branches of a tree. 

There are five of these aggregates/kandhas. One kind of kandha is physical, sensual things. If you think of material wealth as a bundle of branches, being greedy and clinging to/grasping for it is like pouring gasoline over the wood and throwing down a match, creating fire (suffering) when you steal from people, exploit them, etc. Each factor/kandha is something that upadana–clinging or attachment–is directed towards, and eliminating attachment/clinging/upadana is part of how you can stop creating suffering. 

Material things are the only purely physical kandha. The others include emotions (where fear gets a special mention), states of mind, and even things like how you view yourself and what you believe about the world. When Yoda talks about how fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, and hate leads to suffering, he’s echoing the idea that fear of loss and change in a world where the nature of things is to constantly change is what spurs people to cling to things, to form attachments. 

When Anakin’s mom is kidnapped and beaten by Tuskens, he’s ultimately unable to save her and must confront a very sharp, painful loss. His worst fear from his nightmare has been realized. Instead of reaching out and trying to process/deal with his grief and pain in a healthy way, he lets anger get the better of him and he massacres all the Tuskens in the encampment. All he’s done is spread suffering and murder. This does nothing to help his mother, the Lars family, or victims of literally any party of ongoing land/water disputes on Tatooine. Everything that happened here was purely about Anakin and his impulse to take revenge, jumping down the fear->anger->hate->suffering train like a slip-n-slide. 

Anakin routinely has a really hard time undercutting his own upadana, his grasping at and attachment to things that must and will change, must pass. Whenever Obi-wan tells him to “be mindful of [his] feelings,” he doesn’t mean that Anakin just needs to check himself and do some introspection whenever he’s angry or feeling a negative emotion. He’s reminding Anakin that he needs to do some consideration and introspection for all feelings, negative and positive, to think about the relationship between kandhas and upadana. 

Anakin doesn’t need to learn that anger and hate are bad. He needs to learn that even positive things like love can be the objects of attachment/upadana, and that’s the clinging demonstrated in his inability to accept death and loss–however shocking and painful–as a natural process, setting him down Yoda’s cycle of fear, anger, hate, and suffering, unable to walk way.

I have an extremely hard time understanding Fictionkin. I understand Otherkin at a base level (don't personally believe in it, but I understand and honor the practice) but whenever I hear Fictionkin my knee-jerk reaction is to call B.S. I figure this is just due to misinformation/lack of information on my part and was wondering if you knew anything about Fictionkin that could maybe give me a better idea on them to better understand them?

It is unusual that someone who doesn’t believe in otherkin comes to a dragon for advice, but I appreciate your candor.I at one point struggled a little with fictionkin myself, but I figured it out.The most common and in my opinion best explanation I’ve heard for fictionkin is the multiverse theory. If there are an infinite number of universes, everything of which we can possibly conceive is real in one of them.Since we can and did conceive of all works of fiction, they must exist as history in some universe somewhere.If we have taken that there are many worlds, an afterlife, reincarnation, and the ability to sometimes remember past live, all of which are common spiritual beliefs, the rest follows naturally. To reject those beliefs as impossible is an insult to Buddism, Hinduism, most pagan faiths, and generally just a large portion of the population, so we have to accept that all are at least possible.Having accepted all those common beliefs, there is therefore a universe where (for instance) pokemon are real. They die. They reincarnate. Why should they not reincarnate here?I will add that psychological fictionkin, as with otherkin, are also a thing, and perfectly valid. I simply focus on the spiritual aspect because that is where my expertise lies.That being said, there’s another important element you may find useful.
