Billy and Bars
Now, as you probably know, most of the time Billy is ages 8 to maybe 15 (that’s what I’ve seen anyways) and of course, his Captain Marvel form looks like an adult. So, it wouldn’t be strange for an adult to ask another adult to go to a bar with them. Which is why Billy is caught in a dilemma. On one hand, he could just say no, but after a long mission where they’d all spent like two days on an alien planet under constant heavy fire from a cute and cuddly, yet surprisingly bloodthirsty race? It’d be weird not to accept. They might suspect him for being a kid! And boy, Billy does not want that. But on the other hand, he’s not of legal drinking age.
He ends up going with them anyways. Now, all the heroes are sat at a dingy bar in Central City, out of costume, of course. Though, some of them cough Bruce cough Diana cough Arthur cough and you can’t forget Billy, still in Marvel form. (He took a page out of Supe’s book and wore glasses. He’s also for some reason wearing Hawaiian print. (He didn’t have actual adult clothes and needed to borrow from a bargain bin))
Billy thankfully found a loophole for this whole mess. That’s right, this guys gonna be sipping virgin margaritas for the rest of the night. And, he try as many flavors as he wants because you wanna know the best part? Bruce is paying for everything! If Billy could jump in joy, he would. It didn’t matter that Hal was a little obnoxious when drunk off his mind. He’s dealt with worse and it’s not like it’s all that bad. He’s kinda funnier than usual this way. He gets the spend the rest of the day with people he considers friends, that’s all that really matters.
GL: “Dude, why do you keep ordering virgins?”
Crap. What does Billy say to that? Right off the bat, Billy ignores Solomon’s first, and quite frankly, wild lie to tell.
Marvel: “Hmm? Oh uh… I… like the way they taste…?”
He’s a bad liar.
Aquaman: *drinking beer* “Try again, bud.”
Okay… It looks like he might have to listen to Solomon after all. Gosh dang it.
Marvel: “Uhm… I kinda used to maybe sort of might’ve had an addiction and had to go to AA a long time ago.” *Sips drink*
He was always better at lying when the lie was already prepared.
*Whole table goes silent*
Marvel: “Uh… I’ve been sober for a while. Like…” ‘Twelve years, Billy,’ Solomon supplied in his head. “…Twelve years.”
*Table is still silent.*
Flash: *Interrupts silence by slamming hands on table* “Dude! You cannot keep dropping Marvel Lore Bombs™️ on us like this!” (Btw this is the same universe as the Marvel Compilations post. I didn’t mean to write it like it was the same universe but I might as well connect them cause why not)
Marvel: “Whaddya mean?”
Superman: “Well, Marvel…” *scratches back of head* “You kinda have this tendency to… Gosh, how do I put this?”
Martian Manhunter: “You drop obscure information about yourself at random times.”
Wonder Woman: “Then you just go about your day like you didn’t say it in the first place. For example Cap, you can’t just tell me that at some point you were an Amazonian, you were there for my birth, and then just walk off.”
GL: “Marvel, how old are you?”
Marvel: “Uuuuuuhhhhhhh….”
Batman: “You date back to having existed before Mesopotamia. I want to know the answer to that question Marvel.” *Bat-glares Billy while sipping from his drink.*
Bruce was definitely going to add the AA thing to his quite small folder on Marvel.
The night continues on with the other members of the JL grilling Billy for more information about himself, which Solomon helps with by either supplying him with lies, or with things previous champions did. By the time the night was over, Billy never wanted to go to a bar again. He unshazamed in an alley and went home to his little place. He bee-lined to his sleeping bag and just when he was about to fall asleep, something popped into his mind:
‘Why didn’t I just say I didn’t like the way it tastes?’ That thought kept him up for a couple more hours.

.・。.・゜✭・❤・✫・゜・。.
you were getting ready for bed, the house calm and quiet after a long day. a sudden, urgent knock on the front door startled you, pulling you from your relaxed state. glancing at the clock, you noted the late hour—unexpected visitors were rare at this time.
slipping on a robe, you shuffled to the door, wondering who it could be. as you opened it, your eyes widened in surprise. standing on your doorstep was midoriya, drenched from head to toe. his dress shirt clung to him, almost transparent from the rain, and water pooled at his feet, creating a small puddle on your porch. leaves and twigs were tangled in his usually neat green curls, and some wet strands were stuck to his forehead. his tie hung crookedly, and his dress pants were plastered to his legs, making him look like he had been caught in a torrential downpour.
each step he took made a squelching sound from his soaked socks, adding to the awkwardness of the moment. his breathing was uneven, each inhale a shaky gasp from his run. normally so composed, he now appeared as a soaking, disheveled mess, which was both surprising and oddly endearing.
you couldn’t help but stare, trying to reconcile this soaked figure with the usually neat and controlled midoriya you knew. he raised a trembling hand, his fingers shaking from the cold, and his knock came with an unsteady rhythm.
“izuku? are you insane?” you asked, bewildered.
midoriya, catching his breath, looked at you with a mix of determination and embarrassment. “it’s been a long six weeks,” he stammered. “i was too afraid to tell you what i wanted.”
.・。.・゜✭・❤・✫・゜・。.
4 weeks earlier.
midoriya sat in the faculty room, a stack of paperwork spread out in front of him. the late afternoon sun filtered through the blinds, casting long, soft shadows across the room. the air was thick with the usual quiet that filled the space during the end of a school day. across from him, aizawa leaned back in his chair, adjusting his scarf with a mix of impatience and concern.
“you’ve got to be tougher on your students, midoriya,” aizawa said, his voice carrying that familiar edge of seriousness. “i’ve seen you let them off too easily. it’s not helping them grow.”
midoriya glanced up from his paperwork, a frown tugging at his brow. “i don’t think i’m being too easy,” he replied, “i'm just trying to create a supportive environment. they need to learn, but they also need to feel encouraged.”
aizawa sighed, rolling his eyes slightly as he straightened in his chair. “you can be supportive without coddling them, midoriya. there’s a balance you need to find. letting them skate by on half efforts isn’t doing them any favors in the long run.”
midoriya bit his lip, mulling over aizawa’s words. before he could respond, the door to the faculty room suddenly burst open with a loud bang, startling both teachers. a group of students rushed in, their faces flushed with a mix of frustration and urgency. they barely stopped, practically tumbling into the room, completely ignoring the large no students allowed sign outside.
“midoriya-sensei, we need to talk!” one of the students blurted out, breathless, their words tumbling over each other in their haste. midoriya’s eyes widened as he recognized the group—some of his own students, including koda and eri. he glanced at aizawa, feeling a mix of embarrassment and concern as he began to sink into his seat, eyes drifting to the ceiling. he could feel aizawa’s silent stare, a reminder that maybe his softer approach wasn’t as effective as he’d hoped.
feeling the tense air from mr. aizawa, the students silently communicated with each other, deciding who should be the first to speak. “ms. y/l/n has been really tough on us during training,” eri spoke up, her voice tinged with concern. “we were hoping you could... calm her down or something?”
midoriya’s expression shifted, confusion evident. “calm her down? i didn’t even realize she was upset.”
aizawa raised an eyebrow, a knowing smirk playing at the corners of his mouth. “well, maybe you’re just too used to midoriya’s leniency. y/n is an excellent teacher, but she’s always had high standards. maybe you’re all just not used to it.”
as if on cue, the door to the faculty room creaked open again, and you walked in. your usual warmth seemed to fill the room, and you greeted everyone with your signature cheerfulness. “hello, everyone!” you called out, your voice bright and welcoming.
but the moment your gaze landed on midoriya, your expression shifted. the smile that had lit up your face moments before disappeared, replaced by a look of dismissiveness. “mr. midoriya” you greeted him curtly, your tone clipped and formal. there was no warmth, no friendliness—just a cold acknowledgment of his presence.
midoriya felt his heart drop. you didn’t linger in the room like you normally would, chatting with the other teachers or sharing a laugh. instead, you turned on your heel and walked out just as abruptly as you had entered, leaving the room in a stunned, almost eerie silence.
the students exchanged nervous glances, their eyes wide with surprise. a low murmur spread through the group as they tried to make sense of what they had just witnessed.
“okay, that was definitely weird,” one of the students finally said, breaking the awkward silence that had settled in. “she’s usually so friendly with you, sensei.”
midoriya’s brow furrowed deeply as the pieces slowly began to fall into place in his mind. “yeah, that was strange,” he muttered under his breath, his voice quieter now as he stared at the door you’d just exited through. “she’s been distant lately, hasn’t she?” he continued, still muttering to himself, lost in thought. unconsciously, he reached up to rub the back of his neck, a habit of his when he was anxious. though he wasn’t speaking loudly, it was enough to catch the attention of everyone in the room.
the room grew quieter as the students slowly began to file out, their chatter subdued and filled with concerned whispers. but midoriya didn’t notice. he was too busy muttering quietly to himself, replaying each interaction with you in his mind, trying to piece together what had gone wrong.
aizawa narrowed his eyes as he watched midoriya. even he had to admit that your sudden shift in demeanor was odd. just as he was about to call out to midoriya, the younger hero suddenly stood up, his chair scraping loudly against the floor.
“i’ve got to talk to her,” midoriya mumbled, more to himself than anyone else, but it was loud enough for aizawa to hear. aizawa’s eyebrows lifted slightly in surprise. it wasn’t often he saw midoriya this shaken, especially over something non-hero related.
without waiting for a response, midoriya strode toward the door, his footsteps quick and determined. aizawa watched him go, releasing a quiet sigh as the door clicked shut behind him. the room was left in a contemplative silence, the weight of midoriya’s resolve lingering in the air.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
later that day, during lunch, midoriya gathered his courage and approached you as you sat alone at a corner table. he offered a hopeful smile, trying to bridge the growing gap between you.
“hey, y/l/n,” he began, his voice warm and sincere. “want to join me for lunch? it’s been a while, and i thought we could catch up.” he kept his tone light, hoping to ease whatever tension had built up between you.
you glanced up briefly, your expression guarded. the usual warmth that lit up your face when you saw him was gone, replaced with something distant. “no, thank you,” you muttered quietly, turning back to your meal, effectively cutting off the conversation. midoriya stood there for a moment, his smile faltering as your rejection hit harder than he’d anticipated.
from a nearby table, a group of students watched the exchange with bated breath. as soon as midoriya walked away, they quickly gathered around him, their concern obvious.
“what did you do?” eri asked, her voice laced with alarm.
midoriya ran a hand through his hair, his frustration and confusion evident. “i don’t know! i really don’t,” he replied, exasperated. “i thought we were on good terms. i didn’t mean to upset her.”
the students exchanged worried glances. “well, you’ve definitely done something,” koda said, crossing his arms. “you need to fix this.”
midoriya sighed, pulling out his phone to message his friends. as he walked away, his thoughts whirled with memories of your interactions over the past few weeks—every clipped response, every avoided glance, every time you’d left a room just as he’d entered. he replayed those moments over and over in his mind, trying to pinpoint when things had started going wrong—how had he not noticed something was off in the first place? when had it gotten this bad?
“was it something i said? or maybe something i didn’t say? did i miss something important?” he mumbled to himself, oblivious to the awkward stares he was receiving from the students nearby.
the students exchanged uneasy glances. they were used to midoriya talking to himself when he was deep in thought, but this time, it felt different—more personal, more troubling.
aizawa, who had been observing from a distance, narrowed his eyes slightly. he could see midoriya spiraling, lost in his thoughts. with a resigned sigh, he cleared his throat, snapping midoriya out of his daze.
“midoriya,” aizawa called out, his tone calm but firm, “whatever’s going on, you need to address it directly. stop overthinking and talk to her. otherwise, it’s just going to get worse.”
midoriya blinked, realizing that he’d been muttering to himself in front of everyone. embarrassment colored his cheeks as he looked around at the concerned faces staring back at him. “you’re right,” he said, his voice more resolute now. “i need to talk to her. i have to find out what’s going on and fix it.”
with a determined nod, midoriya set off to figure out what had gone wrong.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
midoriya decided to meet with his friends to discuss the situation, hoping their insights could help him understand what had gone wrong with you and how to fix it. he figured that since they had all spent time together, they might have noticed something he missed. they settled into a cozy corner of a café, their faces reflected a mix of concern and curiosity.
todoroki raised an eyebrow, studying midoriya closely. “you haven’t figured it out yet?”
midoriya shook his head vigorously, frustration evident. “no clue. i didn’t even notice that something was wrong. my students pointed it out.”
kirishima, usually cheerful, took on a serious tone. “this is a big deal. you don’t know what’s upsetting her or how long she’s been feeling this way. could be serious.”
midoriya nodded, determination clear in his features. “i’ll talk to her. i just need to understand what went wrong so i can make it right.”
kaminari, who had been quietly listening, leaned forward. “just talking to her isn’t going to cut it. if you really messed up, you need to go big.”
midoriya frowned slightly. “yeah, but what if the grand gesture is too much?”
“better to go overboard than underboard,” kirishima said firmly. “if she’s really upset, a grand gesture might show her how much you care. it’s about being a man and showing that you’re genuinely sorry.”
todoroki nodded in agreement. “think of something meaningful. show her how much you value her.”
“no half-assed attempts,” bakugou added, his tone serious. “if you’re going to do this, make it count.”
midoriya’s resolve strengthened with each piece of advice. “i’ll come up with something that truly shows how much she means to me. i want to make sure she knows i’m serious about fixing this.”
his friends exchanged approving glances, satisfied with midoriya’s determination. as they continued brainstorming ideas, the café buzzed with the energy of their discussion. midoriya’s mind raced with possibilities, each more elaborate and heartfelt than the last. he knew he had to pull out all the stops to make things right with you, and he was ready to put everything he had into it. the grand gestures was the way to go, and he was determined to make it unforgettable.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
the first idea had come from aoyama. somehow, word had spread through their old class about midoriya’s dilemma, and each of them had ideas on how to help. aoyama, being aoyama, suggested something extravagant.
“a grand piece of art!” aoyama had said with flair. “something beautiful that she can walk through and admire. she’ll be swept off her feet!”
with todoroki’s help, they crafted an elaborate display of ice sculptures—each one representing something meaningful to you. the sculptures were delicate, intricate depictions of your favorite things: a particular book you loved, a scene from a memory they shared, and even a tiny version of your favorite flower.
as midoriya stood beside todoroki, his face glowed with anticipation. “thank you so much for helping with this,” midoriya said, his voice brimming with gratitude. “i really appreciate it.”
todoroki nodded, though he seemed slightly uneasy. “no problem. i’m sure she’ll love it.”
when you arrived, you looked hesitant but curious. midoriya guided you forward with a flourish, eager to see your reaction. but as you came into view, the excitement drained from his face.
instead of a beautiful display, you were met with a scene of puddles and half-melted ice sculptures. the intricate figures that todoroki had so carefully crafted were now just watery blobs.
midoriya stood by your side, looking disheveled and panicked. he glanced around in confusion, noticing that the ice was melting faster than it should have. “but... it’s winter,” he muttered, his brow furrowing.
you stared at the mess, disappointment and frustration washing over you. “what is this?” you asked, your voice tight with irritation.
midoriya, clearly distressed and flustered, stammered, “i thought it would be something special, but—”
he didn’t get to finish. glaring at him, you turned on your heel and stormed off, leaving him standing there, drenched in disappointment. todoroki and their friends, who had been watching from a distance, exchanged helpless glances as midoriya stood amidst the puddles of his failed gesture.
it was then that midoriya and todoroki noticed a group of first-year students practicing their fire quirks. the heat from their flames had warmed the ground, causing the ice sculptures to melt rapidly.
todoroki sighed, running a hand through his hair. “she was not happy.”
midoriya’s shoulders slumped. “i wanted to make her feel special, but all i did was mess things up.”
“don’t give up,” todoroki said, trying to reassure him. “there’s still time. just... maybe something simpler next time.”
but simpler didn’t come easily for midoriya. with each new idea suggested by his friends, he found himself spiraling further into chaos.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
midoriya had decided to take a bold step to make things right, following iida’s suggestion. he arranged a surprise staff meeting to publicly apologize to you, hoping that a formal and heartfelt apology would finally bridge the gap. with iida’s help, everything was set: the time, the place, and the carefully crafted speech midoriya had prepared.
however, midoriya overlooked one crucial detail—unbeknownst to him you had a doctor’s appointment scheduled for the same time as the meeting and couldn’t attend. unaware of your absence, midoriya proceeded with the plan.
as the meeting time approached, midoriya arrived early, his nerves jangling with anticipation. he had meticulously rehearsed his speech and was ready to make his apology. iida arrived shortly after to help set everything up and work the slideshow. the rest of the staff arrived, each person taking their seat, eager to hear what midoriya had prepared.
when the time came, midoriya stood at the front of the room, his speech in hand, only to realize that you were missing. a quick check with iida confirmed that you were indeed not present, and midoriya’s heart sank. he had planned to address you directly, but with you absent, he was at a loss for how to proceed.
in a moment of panic, midoriya decided to go ahead with the meeting anyway. clearing his throat, he began, “uh, thank you all for coming. i, um, had prepared a speech for ms. y/ln, but it seems she couldn’t make it today…”
the staff exchanged confused glances, some shuffling in their seats, unsure of what to do. midoriya, now the center of attention, tried to salvage the situation by improvising a general discussion about recent events and updates at the school.
he spoke about new curriculum changes, upcoming events, and even shared some amusing anecdotes to fill the awkward silence. what was intended as a formal apology session transformed into an impromptu staff meeting, with midoriya as the flustered host. iida attempted to assist by passing around random papers with topics, but this only added to the confusion.
as the meeting dragged on, it became evident that midoriya’s heartfelt apology had become an unintended and rather chaotic discussion. the staff, initially puzzled, became engaged in the unexpected meeting, though with a sense of bewilderment.
when the meeting finally wrapped up, midoriya stood at the front of the room, feeling a mix of relief and frustration. his attempt to make things right had resulted in an unplanned staff meeting.
you returned from your appointment later that day, only to hear about the mix-up from your colleagues. they filled you in on the unexpected turn of events. meanwhile, midoriya was already plotting his next grand gesture, determined to find a way to properly convey his apology and make things right with you.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
after the previous grand gestures were a flop, midoriya decided to try something simpler yet still meaningful. with the help of momo and uraraka, he picked out the perfect bouquet: a mix of your favorite flowers, complemented by blooms in colors he knew you liked. the vibrant petals were arranged with careful attention to detail, each one chosen with thoughtfulness and care. midoriya’s heart raced as he made his way through the hallway, clutching the bouquet tightly, hoping this gesture would finally break through the wall between you two.
as he approached the corner where you were about to turn, midoriya took a deep breath, holding the bouquet out in front of him. his nerves were on edge as he hoped you’d see the effort he’d put into this simple but heartfelt gesture.
but just as he was about to step into your view, a loud crackle filled the air. one of the first-year students, still struggling with their electricity quirk, had lost control, and sparks began to fly uncontrollably. midoriya’s eyes widened in horror as a stray bolt shot out and zapped right through the bouquet in his hands. the once-vibrant flowers were instantly reduced to nothing but charred stems, the bright colors now a dark, ashy mess.
 you turned the corner just as midoriya was standing there, holding what looked like a bundle of burnt sticks. raising an eyebrow, you stopped in your tracks and stared at him. “uh… what’s this supposed to be?” you asked, trying to make sense of the scene in front of you.
midoriya’s face flushed bright red, and he stammered, “i… i had flowers for you, but…” he trailed off, glancing down at the destroyed bouquet. his shoulders slumped in embarrassment, and he shifted awkwardly, feeling the sting of failure.
you sighed, the hurt in your eyes evident. “well, thanks, i guess? never been given stems before.” your voice was laced with a mix of sadness and irritation as you shook your head. with that, you turned to walk away, leaving midoriya standing there with a sinking feeling in his chest. he felt like he’d only made things worse, once again.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
midoriya decided to try another simple approach to make amends. remembering your favorite coffee shop and the drink you loved, he headed there with a hopeful heart. the bell above the door jingled as he walked in, and the rich, comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee enveloped him. he approached the counter, his nerves making his voice slightly shaky.
“hi, i’d like to get an iced latte with hazelnut and caramel, please. it’s for someone special,” he said, trying to keep his tone light and friendly.
the barista nodded and started preparing the drink. midoriya watched with bated breath as the machine whirred and hissed, the caramel and hazelnut syrup swirling into the coffee. he could almost see his hopes and apologies taking shape in the cup.
just as the barista handed him the cup, the machine let out a loud, mechanical groan and then abruptly stopped working. the barista’s face fell as she glanced at the now silent machine.
“wow, you’re really lucky,” she said with a sigh. “the machine’s down, and we won’t be able to make another one of these until our manager gets back to check it out. probably won’t be able to make another one of these for another two hours.”
midoriya’s heart sank slightly. he felt a flicker of relief that he had managed to get the coffee before the machine broke down, but the frustration of his situation made his shoulders droop. he thanked the barista and took the cup with a shaky hand, his excitement tempered by worry. he hoped this gesture would be enough to bridge the gap between you and him.
just as he was about to step out, a kid darted past him, bumping into his side with a jolt. midoriya stumbled, and before he could react, the cup flew from his grasp, the precious coffee spilling in a slow-motion cascade onto the floor. the liquid pooled around his shoes, the ice cubes and caramel syrup mixing into a dark puddle.
his heart sank as he stared at the mess. “oh no,” he muttered, feeling a wave of frustration and embarrassment wash over him. he glanced back at the counter, where the barista was now talking to another customer.
“we can’t make any more of those for now. that lucky guy just got the last one,” the barista said, pointing directly at midoriya.
midoriya’s head snapped to the woman in front of the register, and he saw you. your expression shifting from confusion to surprise and then to dismay. your eyes widened as you took in the sight of the ruined cup and midoriya’s mortified face. you had somehow slipped past him while he was waiting, and now you stood in front of the register.
“oh, great,” you said, your voice tinged with frustration. “this just keeps getting better.”
midoriya, now red-faced and utterly deflated, stood there feeling the weight of his failed attempt to make things right. his mind raced as he wanted to apologize, explain, and make it up to you, but all he could do was stand there, feeling utterly deflated.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
it was the start of the school day, and midoriya was busy preparing his classroom for the students. he was in high spirits, excited to tackle the day’s lessons and he felt good about his plans to work things out with you. however, his optimism was abruptly interrupted when a group of students burst into the room, their faces flushed with a mixture of urgency and panic.
“sensei, we need to talk!” one of them exclaimed, practically breathless from running.
midoriya looked up from his desk, surprised by the sudden intrusion. “oh, don’t worry, guys! i know you’re eager to start and all, but you still have another half hour before homeroom begins.”
“no, this is urgent!” another student insisted, their voice tinged with anxiety. “it’s about ms. ms. y/ln.”
midoriya’s eyebrows furrowed in concern. “what about her?”
the students quickly gathered around him, pulling out their phones with frantic gestures. midoriya’s heart sank as he watched the video they played. it showed you in a training session, ruthlessly taking down a dummy with a green wig and a set of freckles. the dummy’s resemblance to midoriya was almost comical, and you were using a variety of improvised weapons—bats, metal rods, and even a few random objects that had no place in a school setting. your movements were executed with a dramatic flair and an intensity that was both impressive and alarming.
midoriya stared at the screen, his eyes widening with disbelief. “you guys came to school early just to show me this?”
“yeah,” one student said, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. “we’ve noticed that ms. y/ln has been a lot more relaxed with us lately. she’s been back to her old self, but you’re still clearly on her bad side. we thought you should see this to understand why.”
midoriya tried to keep his tone light, despite the unsettling nature of the video. “gee, thanks. this is... uh, definitely something.”
another student nodded, their expression serious. “yeah, sensei. you really need to figure out what you did. we like you a lot, but i wouldn’t want to be that test dummy. she’s clearly still holding onto something.”
midoriya’s face fell into a mix of worry and determination. “i’ll talk to her and figure this out. thanks for letting me know.”
as the students left, midoriya remained at his desk, replaying the video in his mind. the exaggerated way you had taken down the dummy made it clear that you were still very upset with him. he was more determined than ever to find out what had gone wrong and make things right before your frustration led to even more extreme demonstrations–and hes nervous for the day that you decide you need a human target.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
midoriya had been feeling increasingly desperate to make things right after his previous attempts ended in disaster. he remembered a conversation he’d had with todoroki after the ice sculpture mishap. todoroki had suggested, “a carefully written note might be the best way to communicate your feelings without risking another embarrassing mishap.”
at the time, midoriya had thought a note would be too simple and struggled with the idea, especially since he wasn’t quite sure what he was apologizing for. but the test dummy incident had pushed him to his limits, making him realize he couldn’t afford another failure.
determined, midoriya spent hours crafting the perfect message. he poured his heart into every word, making sure you understood how much you meant to him and how genuinely sorry he was for everything that had gone wrong. the note was sincere, filled with his deepest apologies and hopes for understanding.
the library seemed like the ideal place to leave the note—quiet, private, and somewhere you were likely to find it without interference. midoriya waited for the library to clear out, his nerves on edge. when it was finally empty and still, he walked in, his heart pounding.
he spotted your folder resting on a table and took a deep breath. with a mix of nervous excitement and hope, he slipped the note inside, feeling a small sense of victory as he did. as he walked away, he felt a renewed sense of hope, convinced that this time, things might finally go right.
but later that afternoon, as midoriya walked down the hall towards the teachers’ lounge, he overheard two students talking animatedly.
“did you hear?” one student said, their voice filled with excitement. “a love note ended up in mr. aizawa’s folder!”
midoriya froze, his heart racing as he processed the shocking news. “mr. aizawa?!” he thought, his mind whirling with panic. he hadn’t seen you since the incident, and now he was horrified to discover that his apology note had ended up in aizawa’s folder instead of yours. his face went pale as he realized the note was meant to be a sincere apology, not a confession. he had never intended to make his feelings for you so obvious, and now he was mortified to find out it was interpreted as a love confession.
as he continued down the hall, he felt a pang of relief that the note hadn’t ended up in your folder, since it would have been even more awkward for you to see it that way. but that relief was overshadowed by the embarrassment and frustration of his mistake. midoriya’s stomach churned as he realized the mess he had accidentally created. desperate to correct the situation, he quickly rushed into the lounge, his face pale with worry and his thoughts racing.
he began pacing around the room, knowing he had to act fast. he needed to find a way to rectify the situation with aizawa and still make things right with you. his heart pounded as he brainstormed how to salvage his heartfelt gesture before it was too late.
i take it this note was meant for y/ln?” aizawa’s voice cut through the room, startling midoriya.
midoriya jumped, his heart leaping into his throat. he turned to see aizawa standing in the doorway, his usually stern expression replaced by an intense, almost intimidating gaze. midoriya’s face went pale, and he stammered, “yes! i’m really sorry about this, aizawa. i didn’t mean for it to get this messy.”
aizawa’s eyes narrowed slightly, his tone dropping to a low, almost menacing growl. “you know, midoriya, if you’re going to mess up, you should probably make sure it doesn’t involve the entire faculty.”
midoriya swallowed hard, a cold sweat forming on his forehead. he felt a rush of anxiety as he tried to explain himself. “i didn’t want to cause any trouble. i just thought—”
“do you like her?” aizawa interrupted, cutting through midoriya’s nervous babble.
midoriya blinked, taken aback. “well, yes, i do. i mean, i—”
“do you like her in a romantic way?” aizawa pressed, his gaze unyielding.
midoriya’s face flushed bright red. he began to ramble, “uh, yeah, i guess you could say that. i’ve liked her for a long time, and i’ve been trying to show her that, but everything keeps going wrong. i mean, i’ve been messing up left and right, and—”
“how did you get that idea?” midoriya finally blurted out, stumbling over his own words.
aizawa’s eyes softened just a bit. “this seems like a big apology for a coworker,” aizawa said, his tone shifting slightly. “sounds like a confession to me.”
midoriya’s eyes widened, and his face turned beet red. “oh, well, yeah, you could say that. i’ve been scared to tell her how i feel because i didn’t want to make things worse. i keep screwing up and pushing us further apart, and—”
“you’re overcomplicating things,” aizawa said, cutting through midoriya’s anxious rambling. “maybe it’s time to just talk to her directly.”
midoriya nodded, determination settling on his face. he knew he needed to take a straightforward approach to make things right. with a renewed sense of purpose, he prepared himself to finally confront the situation head-on, hoping that this time, his genuine feelings would come through and truly make a difference.

midoriya was rushing out of the school building, determined to go home and prepare for a straightforward conversation with you. his plan was clear: find out what he’d done wrong, ask how he could make things right, and confess his feelings. he was nearly at the exit when kaminari, kirishima, todoroki, and bakugou intercepted him.
“hey, where are you rushing off to?” kaminari called out, blocking midoriya’s path with an eager grin.
midoriya came to a halt, his frustration evident. “i’m heading home to get ready for a talk with y/n. i really don’t have time for this.”
“perfect timing, then!” kaminari said, his grin widening. “we’ve got a plan to help you out.”
“a plan?” midoriya asked, eyeing the guitar kaminari was holding. “what’s this about?”
and that’s how midoriya found himself standing in front of your house, flanked by bakugou, kirishima, kaminari, and todoroki, all ready to serenade you like a group of love-struck lunatics. the whole situation felt surreal to him. he turned to kaminari, wearing the same skeptical and apprehensive expression he had earlier when they had intercepted him.
“are you sure this is going to work?” midoriya asked, trying to sound confident but clearly nervous.
kaminari, holding his guitar with a grin, shrugged nonchalantly. “works on jirou all the time. chicks love when you sing to them. it’s like some kind of chemical thing, I think.”
“okay, okay,” midoriya said, taking a deep breath. “let’s just get this over with.”
kaminari strummed the opening chords of the song, and midoriya took his place in front of the group, awkwardly adjusting his stance. he started singing, his voice wavering at first but gradually gaining confidence as he got into the rhythm. the lyrics were heartfelt, a mixture of longing and apology, expressing how much he missed you and how desperately he wanted to make things right.
as midoriya sang, his initial discomfort slowly faded, replaced by a genuine emotion that he hoped would reach you. kirishima and todoroki added their backup vocals, harmonizing with the main melody, while bakugou stood off to the side with his arms crossed, trying to look disinterested but clearly invested in the performance.
just as the song hit its emotional peak, the front door of the house swung open. an elderly man, clearly not you, stormed out onto the porch, his face red with irritation. “what in the world do you think you’re doing, making all this noise at this hour?!”
midoriya froze, his heart sinking as he realized their mistake. the old man’s eyes narrowed, and with a powerful gust of wind from his quirk, he sent them stumbling back. the sudden force knocked them off balance, and midoriya barely managed to stay upright.
“run!” kaminari yelled, already sprinting down the street. the others scrambled to follow, scattering in every direction as the irate old man pursued them with surprising vigor and speed for someone his age.
“it’s only seven o’clock at night!” kaminari shouted, his voice tinged with panic as he was flung into the air. midoriya and the rest of the group could only watch in horror as their friend was tossed around like a rag doll by the furious old man.
the old man’s face was a deep shade of red with rage. “it’s late enough! get off my lawn!” he bellowed, his voice amplified by the force of his quirk. gusts of wind howled around them, whipping up leaves and debris.
three houses down, you were grading papers when the commotion outside drew your attention. the sounds of shouting and the rush of wind made you step onto your porch, where you were met with a scene of utter chaos: a group of boys being chased by your 80-year-old neighbor, who was shaking his cane with fierce determination and unleashing his wind quirk with surprising strength.
through the flurry of wind and movement, you squinted and recognized the familiar green-haired figure. as realization dawned, you couldn’t help but burst into laughter at the absurdity of it all.
midoriya, flailing mid-flight against the gusts of wind, finally spotted you. panic and embarrassment flashed across his face as he was propelled toward your direction. when his eyes met yours, his expression softened into a sheepish smile.
seeing him so disheveled and helpless only made you laugh harder. you hesitated for a moment, then gave him a small, wavering wave. your smile blended amusement with sympathy, recognizing that this wild spectacle was all his doing.
as midoriya was swept past, he saw you retreating back into your home, closing the door behind you. despite the chaos, he managed to hold onto that sheepish grin. your smile, amid the disaster of the serenade, gave him a flicker of hope.
midoriya felt himself being yanked out of the wind’s path and looked up to see bakugou standing over him with a smirk. “looks like you finally got her attention, nerd,” bakugou said, his voice dripping with a mix of amusement and satisfaction.
midoriya, still disoriented from the chaos, brushed himself off and looked around at the scattered group. kirishima and todoroki were catching their breath, while kaminari was sitting on the curb, looking dazed and slightly battered. the gusts of wind had finally ceased, but the ruckus had left its mark.
midoriya’s thoughts raced as he tried to piece together what had just happened. “how did we get the house wrong?” he muttered, he looked up at the house they had just been harassing, his eyes finally taking in the number on the mailbox: 109. realization hit him hard. “we’re at 109, not 106!” he exclaimed, his face falling in disbelief.
the group turned in unison to kaminari, their collective frustration apparent. “you got the address wrong, didn’t you?” bakugou growled, glaring at him.
kaminari’s eyes widened in panic. “it was just a mistake! I didn’t—”
midoriya’s realization was quickly overshadowed by another gust of wind. the old man, still fuming and clutching his cane, had spotted the group again and was gearing up for another attack.
“run!” kirishima shouted, causing midoriya and the others to jump into motion. they scrambled for safety, but the old man’s wind quirk picked up speed, howling as it blasted toward them.
amid the chaos, kaminari, who was still dazed from the earlier commotion, stumbled and tripped over his own feet. “guys, wait up!” he yelled, but his plea was drowned out by the roaring wind.
without a second thought, the rest of the group sprinted away, leaving kaminari behind. the old man’s quirk grabbed kaminari and sent him flying into the air. midoriya, glancing back, saw kaminari flailing helplessly as he was tossed around like a ragdoll.
“sorry, man!” kirishima shouted over his shoulder, guilt evident in his voice as he continued to run.
kaminari’s screams echoed through the night as the old man, now thoroughly enraged, spun him around with impressive strength. “try and sing now pretty boy!” the old man roared, hurling kaminari high into the air before catching him again and sending him spinning.
midoriya and the others continued to flee, their pace slowing as they glanced back nervously. the old man’s furious wind gusts faded into the distance, and with each passing moment, kaminari’s screams grew quieter.
they ran behind the cover of trees and bushes, their breaths coming in ragged gasps. midoriya’s heart pounded in his chest, not just from the exertion but from the fear for their friend. kirishima, breathing heavily, kept turning his head, his face a mix of worry and regret.
“is he still…?” kirishima began, but his voice trailed off as the group strained to listen. kaminari’s cries, once sharp and panicked, had dwindled to distant echoes.
“i don’t hear him anymore,” todoroki said, his voice low and tense.
“he should be alright,” bakugou said, his tone brimming with frustration. “he can take care of himself.”
midoriya swallowed hard, unable to shake the image of kaminari being tossed around. “we need to go back,” he said, his voice determined but weary.
“no way,” bakugou countered. “we need to stay out of sight. we can’t help him if we get caught too.”
they continued to move away, their steps slow and cautious as they kept glancing back toward the fading sound of kaminari’s distress. the screams eventually faded completely, leaving only the haunting memory of their friend’s ordeal.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
the four boys made their way to todoroki's apartment, the closest and most convenient refuge after their chaotic run-in with the old man. as they settled in, todoroki offered drinks and snacks while they waited for kaminari to arrive. they sent a steady stream of text messages to their missing friend, updating him on their location and asking him to join them as soon as possible.
as midoriya was deep in thought, trying to piece together the troubling realization, the front door to todoroki’s apartment burst open. kaminari staggered in, drenched from head to toe. his clothes clung to him, and he dripped puddles onto the floor. the room fell silent as the others turned to see their soggy friend, a mix of relief and confusion on their faces.
“dude, you’re soaked!” kirishima exclaimed, rushing to grab a towel for kaminari.
kaminari, still catching his breath and shivering from the cold, looked around at the concerned faces. “you guys won’t believe it. there’s a huge storm outside. i got caught in it while the old man was still throwing me around. the wind was so strong it messed withhis quirk. managed to escape when he got distracted by the storm.”
as kaminari finally managed to get himself mostly dry, he glared at his friends, still visibly shaken. “i can’t believe you guys left me behind out there!” he exclaimed, frustration and disbelief clear in his voice.
kirishima tossed a towel to kaminari, shooting him an apologetic look. “we didn’t exactly have much of a choice. the old man was going to blow us all away!”
todoroki nodded in agreement. “yeah, and you kind of tripped over your own feet, making it hard for us to help.”
bakugou crossed his arms, smirking. “it’s not like we planned for you to get caught. it’s your fault for messing up the address.”
kaminari’s eyes widened. “are you seriously blaming me for this? you guys should have double-checked!”
despite the lively discussion, midoriya’s attention drifted. sitting cross-legged on the floor and leaning back against the wall, he stared at the flickering embers of the fire. the warmth from the fire contrasted sharply with the turmoil in his mind. lost in thought, he replayed the events of the night over and over. his heart sank as he remembered a crucial detail from weeks ago—a fleeting moment he had brushed off at the time but now seemed significant. it was something you had said or done that had seemed minor then, but now it loomed large in his memory.
his eyes widened as the realization struck him with the force of a freight train. his heart dropped, a cold sweat breaking out on his forehead. the truth of that moment made everything about their disastrous serenade make sense, and the weight of his mistake felt heavier than ever.
it was a few weeks ago, right before fall break. you and midoriya had been sitting at your dining table, grading papers together. the room was filled with the soft sounds of pens scratching against paper, and outside, the leaves were a brilliant mix of oranges and golds. he remembered how content you seemed, how you’d smiled at him, saying, “you know, izuku… this is kind of nice.”
he’d looked up, confused but curious. “what is?”
“just… this.” you’d waved your hand at the table, the papers, and the two of you sitting together. “it’s nice. we should do it more often.”
he’d smiled back, completely missing the undertone of your words. “yeah, i think so too! it’s a lot easier to get through all this work when we’re doing it together. makes it less boring.”
he could see it now, the small shift in your expression as you nodded, pushing on despite his obliviousness. “exactly. it’s… comfortable, being here with you. like, i wouldn’t mind doing this… more often.”
he’d laughed, still clueless. “definitely! actually, i was just thinking how much easier this would be if we had uraraka and iida helping out too. we’d be done in no time!”
the way your smile had faltered, how your eyes had dimmed slightly as you tried one last time. “well, i’m just glad it’s you here with me. it wouldn’t be the same with anyone else.”
and he’d laughed again, unknowingly brushing off what had been a confession of sorts. “haha, thanks! i guess we do make a pretty good team. we’re like the ultimate grading duo!”
he saw it so clearly now—the way you’d sighed, looking deflated, your words trailing off as you muttered, “yeah… a good team.”
and he had just continued grading, thinking everything was fine, not realizing that he’d hurt you, that you’d taken his response as a gentle rejection.
it hit him like a punch to the gut. how could he have been so blind? the way you’d smiled at him that night, the vulnerability in your voice—he’d completely missed it. and in doing so, he’d hurt the person he cared about most.
pacing around todoroki’s apartment, midoriya was a whirlwind of anxiety. his thoughts were racing, and his pacing left an impression on the floor.  "i... i messed up," midoriya said softly, almost to himself. but the others noticed. the chatter in the room stopped as they all turned to look at him.
bakugou was the first to speak. "what the hell are you babbling about now, deku?"
midoriya ran a hand through his hair, his fingers trembling slightly. "there was this night... we were at her house, grading papers. she said something that i—I completely missed the point. i thought we were just talking about work, but now... i realize she was trying to tell me something."
kirishima raised an eyebrow. "what did she say?"
midoriya exhaled shakily. "she said... 'i’m just glad it’s you here with me. it wouldn’t be the same with anyone else.' and then... i just said, 'yeah, we’re a good team!' and moved on like it was nothing."
there was a beat of silence.
kaminari let out a low whistle. "dude..."
todoroki nodded slowly, piecing it together. "you didn’t realize she was talking about more than just grading, did you?"
midoriya shook his head, his face turning pale. "no... i didn’t. i thought she was just talking about us working together. i didn’t even think... i didn’t realize she meant that i was special to her. that being with me was different for her."
bakugou scoffed. "you’re such a damn idiot, even this half and half loser was able to put it together. she practically laid it out for you."
midoriya’s face flushed with embarrassment. "i know... i know, i was an idiot. but at the time, i just didn’t see it. i didn’t think... i didn’t think someone like her would... feel that way about me."
kirishima’s grin softened into something more understanding. "man, that’s rough. but hey, it’s not too late. you can still do something about it."
midoriya looked up, determination sparking in his eyes. "you’re right. i have to fix this. can’t just leave things like this."
“thats the spirit buddy! while you were being all weird in the corner we managed to track down a few people who are willing to do a flash m-”
midoriya was barley registering what kaminari was. his mind was fixated on you and what he needed to do. without a word, he bolted for the door, leaving the others staring in confusion.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
midoriya stood at your door, a soaked mess of a romantic cliché. the rain had pounded him relentlessly, leaving his dress shirt clinging to his skin, almost see-through from the downpour. water dripped steadily from him, forming a small, glistening puddle on your porch. leaves and twigs were tangled in his green curls, sticking out like a wild, untamed halo, while some damp strands clung to his forehead. his tie hung askew, probably snagged during his frantic sprint, and his dress pants were plastered to his legs, heavy with rain.
each step he took produced a miserable squish from his soaked socks, echoing the awkwardness of the situation. his breathing was uneven, each inhale a shaky gasp from the run to your house. normally so composed, midoriya now stood there, a sopping wet contradiction to his usually neat appearance.
he raised a trembling hand to knock, his fingers fumbling with cold and nerves. when you answered the door, your eyes widened in shock. the sight of midoriya was like something out of a slapstick romantic comedy—his usually neat hair was a wild mess, and his clothes clung to him in a way that was more tragic than suave.
“izuku? are you insane?” you asked, bewildered.
midoriya, still panting from his run, looked at you with a mix of determination and embarrassment. “it’s been a long six months,” he stammered, struggling to catch his breath. “i was too afraid to tell you what i wanted.”
you raised an eyebrow, taking a step back to survey the drenched mess in front of you. “what are you talking about? you look like you swam here.”
midoriya took a deep breath, trying to steady himself. “that night we were grading papers, you said something that i didn’t understand at the time. you said, ‘i’m just glad it’s you here with me. it wouldn’t be the same with anyone else.’”
you blinked, still processing his soaked appearance. “yeah, i did. no need to—”
“i thought you meant you were just glad to have me as a coworker,” midoriya interrupted, his voice trembling with vulnerability. “but now i realize you were trying to tell me something much more important. i was so focused on keeping you as a friend that i didn’t realize i missed my chance to be something more.”
your eyes widened, and you took a step back, your mind racing. “wait, so… you like me?”
“yes, i really do,” midoriya said, his voice trembling with cold and nervousness. “i’m sorry it took me so long to figure this out. i want you in my life, no matter what. i know i’ve messed things up, and i want to make it right. you mean so much to me, and i’d wait as long as it takes to prove that. i like you, a lot.”
you stared at him with a mix of frustration and relief. “oh my god, i thought you hated me! you tried to give me flowers, then there were the puddles, and the coffee—”
midoriya’s eyes widened in realization. “the flowers…the puddles—those were all me trying to show you how i felt!”
you groaned in disbelief, “and you didnt understand my way?”
midoriya’s face turned a deeper shade of red. “i’m sorry. i thought—”
you cut him off, frustration clear in your voice. “i thought you didn’t care! after i tried to confess, i needed some space, and you acted like nothing happened. then all these weird things kept happening, and it felt like you were mocking my feelings for you.”
midoriya’s shoulders slumped, his eyes filled with regret. “i was trying to show you how much you mean to me, but every time, something went wrong. i thought if i kept trying, it would get better, but it just made things worse.”
he stepped closer, the rain drenching his already soaked clothes. “i’m here to make things right. i want you to know how much you mean to me. i’m not just sorry for misunderstanding—i’m sorry for not realizing how special you are until now.”
he reached out, his hand trembling slightly as he took yours. his gaze was full of hope, his green eyes reflecting the soft glow of the porch light. “please, give me a chance to show you how much i care. i want to be more than just a good team. i want to be someone you can count on, someone who truly understands you.”
midoriya’s hand, cold and trembling, felt reassuringly warm against yours. the droplets cascading down his face highlighted the emotion in his expression, his eyes locked on yours. every sound around you—the distant rumble of thunder, the soft patter of rain, and the steady beat of your heart—seemed to magnify the intimacy of the moment.
it felt as if the world had come to a standstill, holding its breath for this delicate, significant moment between the two of you. as you took a shaky breath, the weight of the past weeks seemed to lift, replaced by a fragile sense of anticipation.
with a small, tearful smile, you finally found your voice. “okay.” the word was barely a whisper, yet it carried the weight of your emotions. it was a simple affirmation, but it felt profound in the context of your shared experience.
midoriya’s face lit up with a mixture of relief and joy as he stepped even closer, the warmth of his presence nearly overwhelming despite the cold rain soaking through his clothes. droplets of water dripped onto your porch as he gently squeezed your hand, his thumb tenderly tracing over your knuckles. his eyes were filled with nothing but pure adoration, and before you knew it, he pulled you gently into his embrace, his soaked clothes pressing against you. the cold of the rain was undeniable, and you shivered as the chill seeped into your warmth.
“izuku, you’re freezing,” you managed between giggles, squirming slightly as the coldness of his wet clothes made you shudder.
he chuckled softly, his breath warm against your ear despite the rain-soaked predicament. “i know, but i just couldn’t stay away.”
midoriya pulled back slightly, his arms still around you but loosening just enough to gaze into your eyes. his smile was wide, his expression a perfect blend of admiration and pure joy. he took a moment to fully appreciate how beautiful you looked, even as you laughed and tried to escape his embrace. the rain highlighted the sparkle in your eyes and the joy in your smile, making the moment feel even more special. he was overwhelmed with how lucky he felt to be here with you, sharing this perfectly imperfect moment.
slowly, midoriya cupped your face in his hands, his fingers brushing gently against your cheeks. the warmth of his touch contrasted sharply with the chill of the rain, and you could feel the delicate tremor in his fingers, a sign of how much this moment meant to him. his gaze was tender, his eyes holding a mix of admiration and vulnerability that made your heart flutter.
you could feel his breath mingling with yours, each exhale warm and soothing against the cool, damp air. his closeness was both comforting and electrifying, the sensation of his presence enveloping you completely. midoriya’s gaze lingered on your lips for a moment before he leaned in slowly, giving you ample time to pull away if you wished. when his lips finally met yours, the kiss was gentle and tender, a stark contrast to the cold rain that drummed against the porch.
the kiss deepened gradually, each movement slow and deliberate, as if he were savoring every second. the warmth of his lips, paired with the lingering chill of the rain, created a stunning contrast that sent shivers down your spine. as his kiss conveyed both an apology and a promise, you felt a wave of warmth flood through you, banishing the chill of the downpour. the connection between you was profound, a blending of emotions that left you breathless.
midoriya’s hands, still cradling your face, were careful and reverent. the world outside—the rain, the noise, the chaos—seemed to dissolve, leaving just the two of you in a bubble of shared warmth and connection. his lips lingered against yours, his touch gentle as if he were afraid to break the spell of this perfect moment.
when he finally pulled away, his eyes were still locked on yours, and his smile was filled with pure, unrestrained happiness. he opened his mouth, seemingly ready to say something heartfelt, but before he could speak, loud cheers erupted from the bushes nearby.
“so manly!” “let’s go, young midoriya!”
the sudden outburst startled both of you. midoriya turned, his expression shifting from soft adoration to surprise as kaminari, kirishima, todoroki, and bakugou emerged from their hiding spots. kaminari was grinning widely, fist-pumping the air, while kirishima gave midoriya an exaggerated thumbs-up. todoroki offered a subtle nod of approval, and bakugou, arms crossed, smirked and muttered, “finally got her izuku.”

Hi could you write some angst about a deeply insecure reader who hates her appearance and is sort of friends with Elena and everyone(pushed to the side kind of relationship)but when klaus comes around it’s clear that she has a crush but believes he’s out of her league then klaus uses it to his advantage by showing an interest in her for information and helps her with her self worth.klaus then starts to develop feelings for her but then it’s revealed that he was just manipulating her and reader is devastated and utterly humiliated and it sets her back to how she was before him.(sorry if that was a really long explanation,you can decide the ending)thanks I love your writing btw

Growing up in Mystic Falls is a bizarre experience.
There were town events almost every month where you had to dress up and act better than everyone, parents basically had a competition over who had the prettiest daughters or the most handsome sons.
Not my parents.
They didn't think I was good enough to even pretend that I could compete. I was told my worth from a young age and became more aware of it with time. When your own parents don't think you're good enough it's sort of an eye-opener if you will.
It didn't help that everyone in this town seemed to be born into modelling.
Somehow I was lucky enough to wind up 'friends' with people like Elena, Caroline and Bonnie but I knew I didn't belong with them. Somehow they were gorgeous enough to get whatever they wanted.
Sometimes I wondered if everyone else at the age of 17 looked like them and I was behind or if somewhere, I was above average. I doubted it. A lot.
Occasionally I would look at a mirror and think that I wasn't even that bad to look at. There was nothing particularly ugly about me, there just wasn't anything special. I looked plain in a way, bland and forgettable.
I was very forgettable actually. My 'friends' made that abundantly clear throughout the years when they would go out without me or forget to ask if I also wanted something or liked something.
Somehow I was of no value to them. Perhaps I was simply there to amplify their beauty. Like a DUFF. I was definitely the DUFF.
Damon actually told me that I was once, after Tyler had made the joke and Damon asked what it meant. Even though I already knew it to be true, to be told it was much worse.
You could sort of tell everyone else was thinking it, especially when I was stood beside Caroline.
Stefan was the only one who was nice but I wasn't sure if it was out of pity or just because that was who he was. Then again, I'd rather just not know.
So I tried my best to keep in the background, avoid attention and stay out the way.
Even with all the vampire and werewolf drama that took course, I kept myself quiet and to the side. Strangely it was Katherine who was kind to me, whether she had an ulterior motif I'm not so sure anymore but she never hurt me in the time she was there. Neither did Elijah when he came to town, he was polite to everyone but it was obvious that my presence was irrelevant to him.
And then of course, Klaus arrived.
I didn't officially meet him until the senior prank night, he sort of just threw to the side and told me to keep my mouth closed and not to bother running because he'd just kill me. Part of me thought about running anyway so he would just end it but I didn't.
Klaus dragged me by my wrist into his car, told me to keep quiet while he drove Elena to the hospital. For whatever reason he brought me along and left me in the car as he went to drain her of blood for his hybrids. I did as told: sat silently and waited.
He came back out and spoke to Damon for a moment, I saw them glance over in my direction only for Damon to laugh and smirk. I sighed to myself and got out the car. It was clear that Klaus thought I could be a good pawn but was surly mistaken and Damon told him to do whatever he wanted to me. In response I walked home, neither noticed so it was fine.
A week or so later he came back, crashed homecoming or something? I dunno, I wasn't there but I was told about it the next day via a stroppy Caroline.
It was that same day that he came and sat beside me at the grill. I ignored him for the most part, confused by his attempt at what I could only guess was flirting? I wasn't really sure. I think he could tell.
"Not easily impressed are you love?" he questioned as he leant forward, uncomfortably close. I sort of just looked at him, still unsure to what he wanted. A smirk pulled at the end of his lips and his hand lifted, his fingers wrapping around a piece of my hair making frown and pull away abruptly. Without hesitation I stood up and spun on my heel, going to leave. His laugh followed me and a hand grabbed my waits, it was stange.
"Calm down love, It's not like I was going to rip it out, I just wondered what it felt like" he chuckled, pulling my back flush against his front making me tense and squirm.
"It feels like hair" I stated simply "Now get off" I grunted, shoving my elbow into his side to make him let go. I kept walking, keeping my eyes on the ground.
The next time I saw him he apologised for the previous encounter which again, i didn't understand but there was no point in questioning and arguing so I just accepted it and tried to leave but he asked if I'd stay for one drink, he asked so nicely and he smiled. I was stupid enough to think it was genuine and accepted.
Looking back it was pretty obvious that this was a game for him or a trap, whatever you want to label it but in the moment I ignored what was right in my face. Deep down I knew it was all a joke of sorts really.
But no boy, let alone a man had shown me this sort of attention and the soft fluttering it made me feel had me staying for far too long. I listened to his little stories and asked a range of questions as the drinks kept coming. He asked a couple about me but i gave relatively vague answers. There wasn't much I had to give him on me, I wasn't up for a pity party about friends and I didn't really fancy talking about my shitty parents either. I think Klaus picked up on the fact that I didn't really want to talk about me and eventually gave up with it.
It was late when I realised I needed to get home and he offered to take me which I admit made me wary. I didn't want him to kidnap me and think I'd be any good as leverage again, though I guess Damon made that pretty clear already. I decided to just walk home which he eventually accepted and got into his car.
Walking by myself probably wasn't my best option after drinking so much in one go but I made it home with minimal stumbling. My mother shook her head when she saw me and asked what was wrong with me. When she realised I had been drinking her mind jumped to two very different conclusions. The first being that I was being a slut which was ironic as in the past she'd made it clear that no guy would want to sleep with me, and the second being that I had taken pills to kill myself.
Listening to her drastic thinking made me wonder what kind of pills she was on but I didn't question it and waited for my father to come and take her to bed, telling her to just ignore me. Then I proceeded to make my way to the bathroom, getting changed and washing my face before going to my bed.
My phone dinged making me sigh, thinking it was Elena asking me to help her with something dumb and life threatening however much to my surprise it was Klaus. A smile involuntarily spread across my face and we messaged back and forth before he told me to rest.
The following few days he would just check in. Not too much but he also made it clear that he hadn't forgotten me which was all I had ever truly wanted from someone. To be acknowledged at the very least.
Of course I didn't tell the others that he had been talking to me, besides they didn't ask so I didn't see why I should. I guess I just wanted something for myself.
I wasn't completely stupid. I always had the feeling that he was using me, especially towards the start...but he was just so wonderful with his words and his ways.
When he began to make and buy sweet gifts and claim they were tokens of his affection, I couldn't help the blush on my face. When he would find a way to have his skin against mine, or how he would pick up my hand and gently tug my along. Somehow we always seemed to end up somewhere for food, and he would always refuse to let me pay.
Something about him was so enticing, addictive if you will.
He began to make me feel a certain way. He made me warm and happy. His touch was so soft, it made me feel like I was buzzing. i was stupid for thinking he could feel the same way about me.
I had been so scared to admit my feelings.
He had assured me that he would never push me to.
He told me that he liked me, that he didn't want me to be frightened of him or nervous around him. "Not unless it's the sort of nervous that puts butterflies in your stomach sweetheart" he had teased and my cheeks had glowed red.
Over the space of months his presence never lessoned. He always made time to see me, and speak with me. I found myself longing for his voice, his touch.
On days where he was too busy at home, he would urge me to come over. I would spend as long as I possibly could with him, a few times I even stayed over but he had slept on top of the duvet so that I would feel comfortable.
This had gone on for a small while until he actually said the words 'I love you'.
Perhaps I was just so happy to actually hear those words. Maybe I believed them to be true, real. Or I just saw what I wanted to see, heard what I wanted to hear and ignored the rest.
The time I gave myself to him used to make my smile and blush. Now it just makes me feel dirty, humiliated and embarrassed.
Knowing that he could and has had his hands all over my body, his lips and eyes. In the moment I felt like a goddess, probably because that’s what he told me I was. The memory of him inside me haunts me. I had thought it to be such a beautiful experience, romantic and personal.
I wish I could say that I had slept with him only once but as the months went by we would share intimacy often.
I had even told him that I loved him, so many times and I meant it for all of them.
So you should understand why it was so hard to accidentally hear him tell his sister that he had been compelling me for any information on the others.
It had felt as though my heart had stopped when the words hit my ears and tears already made my eyes burn. I heard a weak laugh and turned my head to see Damon, strung up by chains whilst bleeding all over, looking straight back at me.
“Y/n…” I heard Klaus’s voice, his tone one of panic or maybe it was just surprise. He probably didn’t want me to know of his routine. Damon only rolled his eyes and gave me look,
“You didn’t…think it was real, right?” He coughed, a cruel smile on his face.
His words just made me quieter. They made me think. Why did I think it was real?
My eyes slowly lifted to meet Klaus’s. I could see and feel Rebekah looking at me, everyone was silent. Even Damon shut up for a second. I think maybe he was expecting me to say something but I didn’t really have anything to tell him.
As awful as it all made me feel, and even with the amount of emotions swallowing me, I felt more disappointed in myself than I did him.
My right hand went to my left arm, pinching my skin through my jumper in some sort of hope that I’d wake up from some stupid nightmare but it didn’t work.
The first tear fell from my eye and I sniffed to keep the other ones from coming.
Klaus just looked at me, I couldn’t tell what he was thinking, I didn’t want to know either. I could just guess anyway.
So without a word I just turned around and left, walking quickly back out the door before breaking into a sprint in the direction of my house. I could feel the mascara running down my face, ruining the foundation I had only recently started wearing, for Klaus’s benefit.
My hands wiped at the tears as I pushed my from door shut behind me and went upstairs, blocking out the annoyed voices of my parents and locking myself in my room.
It was only once I was in the shower that I was flooded with memories. That I remembered all the things I had done with him. By the time I stepped out of the bathroom my skin was scrubbed raw in an attempt to wash his touch away. Even the slightest touch made me feel as though my body was burning, stinging with pain but I would have rather felt that every day than have to realise Klaus had been using me for over a year now.
I was curled in my bed, hidden under the blankets and surrounded by the dark as I let every comment not matter how small or petty play back through my mind.
I wasn’t even sure who to be upset with. I chose myself.
Klaus must’ve known I was an easy target. Desperate. I wonder how much he’s had me tell him. To be fair I knew more than you’d expect about what was going on. I had gotten good at observing and overhearing so I still knew what was going on, even when spending so much time with Klaus himself.
I also wondered what else he had compelled me to do. I hoped he wouldn’t do anything other than ask questions but I couldn’t help that fear creep inside me. It made me sick to my stomach, and then I wondered if he would just wait to compel me again so that I could continue to be his information feeder.
The idea made my fingers dig into my arm, bruising the skin purple but I wouldn’t stop. I only did so that I could go get some vervain that I kept downstairs in one of the cupboards at the back. I was reaching for the little glass bottle when I heard a door close. I spun around quickly to see Klaus in the doorway of my kitchen. My hand clutched onto the vervain tightly and I noticed his eyes glance at it briefly. His hands went up as if to show no harm but there was no way I would believe that meant a thing.
“Sweetheart- listen to me..” he began and I let out a breathless laugh
“Get out” I whispered making him sigh and frown as though he had the audacity to be upset or annoyed.
“Y/n..”
“No Klaus. I’m fucking serious, get out.” I told him, my eyes watering again. I let out an involuntary whimper when he stepped forward making him stop and stand still.
“I never meant for you to know that” he whispered and I frowned, swiping a tear away.
“Sorry I ruined your plan” I mumble, exhausted.
“No- no I didn’t mean it like that- I meant that-“
“Klaus it’s fine” I murmur, avoiding his eye, “It’s fine, I get it. You needed to know what was happening, you got to be two steps ahead. I’d appreciate if you just found someone else now please”
I could feel his stare on me, it make my skin itch and I just needed him to go. I could feel my hand getting clammy as I held onto the bottle.
“I haven’t compelled you in such a long time” he muttered, as though maybe that made it better. “I used to, but I truly have fallen for you Y/n. I love-“
“Please get out” I cut him off, my spare hand resting on my forehead to cover my eyes.
“I love you”
“No you don’t” I cry, “you wouldn’t do this to someone you love. I know you don’t love me. You never have and you never could. You’re just pretending again so I’ll let you control me, I don’t like it” I whimper, tears streaming again. I could hear him getting closer but I was already against the counter and I couldn’t out run him. There was no point in trying.
“Sweetheart, I’ll never use you again-“ he tried to argue but I couldn’t listen to it.
“I really, really need you to leave. Please Klaus just get out, I can’t stand you” I tell him honestly and for a second as I look up at him, he looks almost sad but I have to assume it’s still apart of his act.
“You- you’re not going to do anything…anything harmful are you? To yourself, I mean.” He asked and I felt a wave of embarrassment wash over me. I should never have told him that I’d had those thoughts or feelings once. I shouldn’t have ever said a word to him.
“No…now go away” I whisper, my hands trembling as I stared at the ground, listening to his footsteps eventually get further away.
I knew there was no way I could sleep, he was probably still outside my house. Waiting.
I wasn’t sure what he was waiting for but I could him there.
I had no idea what I was going to do.

I have a Spencer request :)
Maybe some very cute fluff with fem!BAU!reader and Spencer where the team is staying at a hotel on a case and neither of them can sleep so they go to one of their rooms and just talk and maybe cuddle until they can sleep? That would be lovely <3
(absolutely love ur fics btw ❤️)
Thank you sweetheart <3
Tossing from one side to the other, sleep was something you were clearly not granted tonight and it frustrated you to no end.
When you and the team arrived at the hotel, the first thing you wanted to do was change into your pajamas and jump into bed. However, you wanted to take the time to take care of yourself, so you had a nice dinner, took a shower and did a bit of light reading to get your thoughts away from work, but the second you turned off the lights to finally get some well deserved rest, all of the exhaustion was gone and now here you were, nearly in tears from not being able to sleep.
Sensing that slumber wasn’t going to hit you anytime soon, you slipped out of bed, covered yourself in your robe and shuffled into your slippers.
The moment you opened your room, you nearly jumped when you saw Spencer already outside your door. His hair looked disheveled and you could tell that he was having just as hard of a time falling asleep as you.
“You can’t sleep either, huh?”
Nodding his head, you chuckled as you brushed the hair out of his eyes, wondering in what position he had tried to sleep in order for his hair to get to the state it was in.
“Wanna come in?”
“It’s kind of why I came here.”
“Really?”
Spencer nodded and you opened the door for him, going to sit on the edge of the bed while he closed the door and followed you.
“What’s keeping you up?”
“I can’t get the victims' faces out of my head.”
Humming at Spencer’s response, you thought about the scared faces of the children the team saved today. Laying down on the covers, your thoughts went wild remembering the events of the day. The children had been stolen from their beds in the middle of the night and forced to take on the names and personalities of the children the unsub had lost, some had died of illness and others had been taken away by child protective services.
Spencer laid down next to you as a sigh escaped his lips, his hand running over his face, trying to keep his eyes open so as to not fall asleep on you.
“I hope they’re all able to heal.”
“I’m sure they will, Spence.”
Reaching out to his face, your thumb ran over Spencer’s cheek, a chuckle falling from his lips.
“What’re you doing?”
“I don’t know, comforting you?”
“This is how you comfort people?”
“I like to show physical affection, but I know you’re a bit hesitant with it, so…”
Turning to face you, Spencer rested his arm over your waist, his fingers lightly caressing your lower back.
“Is this okay?”
“Yeah.”
Snuggling a bit closer, your arms wrapped around Spencer’s middle as your head rested on his chest. One of Spencer’s hands moved to your head, caressing the back of it while his lips pressed a light kiss to the crown.
Continuing to talk about anything and everything, not long after you dozed off in a deep sleep, while Spencer admiring your peaceful state. Soon enough, Spencer rested his head next to yours, his eyelids finally fluttering shut as he felt the peace radiating off of you. His heartbeat syncing with yours over time, slowly but surely hugging you closer to him in his sleep.
You can find my masterlist here!
Let me know your thoughts in the comments and like & reblog to support <3

red thread || jake “hangman” seresin
summary: fate has a funny way of bringing people together, and it’s made no exception for you and hangman. you’ve grown up together; there's not a day that goes by in which you aren't glued to each others' sides. as kids, you promised each other that if you were still single at 30 you'd get married. but when that day finally arrives, you wonder just how much things will change.
words: ~2.3k
warnings: nothing. unless you’re like me and commitment scares you, then yeah lmao. hangman is an absolute gentleman in this though :) biggest TW is my writing...sorry. idk what happened. some slight mentions of angst and injury but nothing graphic :)
a/n: mannn my writing has gone downhill idk how yall other talented writers do it. i wish i could write that well 😭but, i’m proud of this...plotwise, at least! (my fics are doing so bad for some reason while everyone else seems to be blowing up??? idk) btw, the first part of this fic takes place two years before tgm
Tumblr media
It was 1:30 a.m, and you couldn’t fall asleep.
It seemed that Hangman had the same idea as you as he told you to meet him outside the Hard Deck in five. The coastal air and Jake Seresin was the perfect combination to help you unwind, so of course you said yes.
“There she is,” he grinned as he offered a helping hand. “My favorite fellow insomniac.”
“Nightmares keep you up, Jake?” you teased. “What’s the matter this time?”
“Same as you. Don’t feel like sleeping yet,” Hangman answered. “Can you believe it? We’re awake, and Fanboy and Payback aren’t.”
“Now that’s a first,” you laughed. “Thought I’d never live to see that day, but here we are.”
“We’re making history day by day.”
“You know…sometimes,” you breathed out as you rested your head on his shoulder, “I wonder what it’d be like if we never met.”
“Didn’t you ask that same question fifteen years ago?”
“We were much younger back then. It’s different now.”
“Well, then…I don’t like to imagine it.”
Your brows furrowed. “Why not?”
“It’d be weird. You’ve always been a big part of my life, so to think you almost could’ve not been in it…it’s weird. Uncomfortable, even.”
“Yeah, it is weird…” your voice trailed off as you lingered on the thought. You’ve always done everything together. How different would your lives be now if you hadn’t become friends; hadn’t stayed in touch through college? “But don’t be sad, because I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon.”
Hangman gave you a light punch in the arm. “I’m not complaining.”
“Good.”
“You know, Y/N…there’s one more thing.”
“Uh oh.”
“Hear me out,” he started. “Remember that deal we made when we were kids?”
“The one about helping each other bury a body if needed, or getting married?”
“The second one…I thought the first was a given since the day we met. That’s something all friends are supposed to do for each other, right? Bury bodies, hide their trails…all that good stuff.”
“What about the second one?”
“We’re turning 30 soon,” he recounted. Any and all traces of cockiness were completely wiped off his face. “And we said that if we’re both still single by the time our 30th birthdays roll around, we’d get married.”
You smiled as you revisited the memory: wide-eyed and curious, and so blissfully unaware with the only worry in the world was whether you’d grow up together or not. “You still remembered all that?”
“Of course I did. You still in, or what?”
“I guess so…I mean, what else do I have to lose?”
The two of you fall back into your comfortable silence, and he wraps you up into his arms.
Tumblr media
TWO YEARS LATER
As usual, the base is busy and rather chaotic: day after day you’re busy filing reports and training. This causes you to become prone to forgetting the littler things in your life, so you assign Bob to keep track of them for you. He had the best memory of anyone you knew—that man kept mental notes of everything.
“What do I have to do today, Floyd? Any events…”
“Uhhh…” Bob thought for a moment as you took a long drink of water. “Dinner with Phoenix. Do laundry. Don’t get yelled at by Cyclone for the 19th time (You’re only one point behind Bradshaw, he’s at 20). Grocery shopping. And most importantly…yours’ and Hangman’s birthday.”
“Oh, shit, I completely forgot,” you swore under your breath. “How could I forget…”
“You have some time, so don’t worry. Five days.”
“Only five days?” your eyes widened. “I have to run through four more simulations over the next two. I can’t plan everything in the remaining three.”
“If you pay Garcia in Doordash deliveries, he’ll help out. You know he minored in art.”
“That’s…actually not a bad idea.”
After you finish your final exercise that week, you pass out, but luckily, Hangman’s right there to catch you so you don’t get a concussion. Bless that man—he always seemed to be around wherever you went and you were very grateful for it.
You were delirious and couldn’t walk straight, so as much as you claimed you were okay, he wouldn’t believe you.
“I’m taking you home because you’re in no condition to be wandering around by yourself. The birthday planning can wait. You’ve tired yourself out enough as it is and you don’t want to make things worse.” So you let him help you get into his car, then drive you home and lead you inside. Then, he forced you to go upstairs to take a hot shower and relax while he cooked up dinner for you.
Though Hangman admired your determined spirit, it scared the hell out of him because you wouldn’t know when to stop yourself.
“I got that from you though! Who’s the one I spend the most time around?” you’d claim in response to that  argument. You weren’t wrong—it was a quality you picked up from him many years ago.
You woke up the next morning to the smell of French toast and jam, which lessens the tension in your shoulders right away. Amidst the early morning light drifting through the windows he stands out like a priceless work of art in a museum. You struggle to tear your eyes off him.
Rubbing the sleepiness from your eyes, you rested your chin on his shoulder and exhaled. “Hey.”
“Morning. You sleep okay? How’s that headache of yours?”
“I’m alright.” You closed your eyes and inhaled the sweet scent of cinnamon sugar. “This smells nice.”
If Hangman was tired, you couldn’t tell. “Woke up at 6:30 to relearn the recipe for you. It’s been a while, it took three burnt batches to get the hang of things.”
“You woke up an hour early to cook for me?”
“Why else? Of course I did,” he stated matter-of-factly.
You sat down at the kitchen island together and ate your breakfast in silence. Something about this moment feels more domestic than all the others you’ve shared in the past, and you can’t help but smile. You wouldn’t mind spending the rest of eternity like this...
“Y/N, there’s some honey on your chin.”
You blinked, trying to find it. “Where?”
“Hold on a sec.” Hangman took his napkin and rubbed gently at the corner of your lip to wipe it off. For a brief moment, you could feel his warm breath fanning across your face. You stayed as still as possible. “There.”
If anyone looked in from the outside, it was another simple day in the life of a longtime couple. But for you and Jake, it’s always been like this. Showing up at each others’ place wasn’t unusual for either of you; if anything, it was quite normal.
“...Thanks.”
“Yeah. You got any ideas in mind? For the big day.”
“Whatever you want is what I want.”
“Funny enough, that’s what I was about to tell you,” he replied.”
You locked eyes with each other and laughed. “We’ll figure it out. I’m sure we will.”
Less than three days until everything as you knew it would change forever...if you were being honest, you were absolutely terrified. What if he changed his mind and left you in the dust, all alone? You weren’t ready to face the cold truth.
Tumblr media
Hangman offered a simple celebration: food and drinks at the Hard Deck with the crew, then some karaoke if you were up for it after. He starts it off by serenading you at the bar, reaching a hand out to you as he sang your favorite Billy Joel track. You let him lead you out to the dance floor and spin you around, and he’s equal parts addicting as he is entertaining.
Thirty candles, and you agree on blowing out fifteen each—somehow, by some miracle, you manage to do exactly that, and it’s perfect. Then Fanboy yells that he and Rooster want a rematch with you in Just Dance…so you go at it for two hours straight, until sweat is dripping down your face and your sweater grows hot.
You’re burnt out, and he can see the look in your eyes as you step aside to let Phoenix play. “You want to head out? There’s something I want to show you.”
You nod. “Okay.”
He gives Maverick a look, and the captain shoots him a subtle nod in return. He takes this as his signal to put his hand on the small of your back and lead you out the door.
You can’t help but laugh a little as you get outside. “Is this Mav’s motorcycle?”
“No…” Hangman shifts from foot to foot, feigning cluelessness.
“Did you steal it?”
“Of course not.”
“It’s his, isn’t it.”
“Look, he let me borrow it for the night. It’s not stealing if he says it’s okay…besides, he never noticed when I did steal from him last week—”
“What did you—do you even have a motorcycle license?”
“Got it a year ago. I thought, ‘maybe I’ll take my best girl on a ride someday, so who knows if it’ll come in handy’. So here we are now.”
“That’s very sweet.”
“Alright, now come on.” He swung his leg over the side and motioned for you to sit behind him. The cushion was not in fact, cushiony, and you found yourself growing colder by the second.
The bike burst forward without warning. You let out a small yelp and immediately wrapped your arms around Hangman’s waist—which was ridiculously firm…had he been working out more lately?—as you went speeding down the road.
“If I die, I’m gonna kill you and haunt you in your sleep,” you mumbled into the fabric of his jacket. “Even in death, I’ll stick to you always.”
“That sounds both morbid and weirdly romantic.”
“Shut up.”
Several minutes later you found yourselves by the cliffs, standing high over the ocean, and deja vu hits almost right away. After we go on this make up date, he had said, I’m going to find that guy who messed you up and mess him up. Then we’re going to go home, I’ll let you wear any of my sweatshirts you want, and we’ll watch true crime. One where someone like that jerk dies. Okay? Okay.
You’re miles away from Top Gun, miles away from your jet and your uniform and everything you’ve ever known, but you’ve never felt more at home than now. It’s in this moment in which you realize all you really need in the world is Jake, the sky above you, and the sea below you.
Out of the corner of your eye you noticed that he’s getting fidgety. He can’t stop stuffing his hands in and out of his pockets or running them through his hair—he’s restless. The action takes you by surprise a bit.
“Why are you all tensed up?” you questioned. “It’s just me and a nice sunset. We’ve done things like this many times.”
“But it’s not just you and a sunset,” he explained. “I’m supposed to be asking you the most important question of our lives. That’s a big deal, sweetheart.”
Your heart spluttered to a stop. “Are you…”
“Let me finish,” Jake cut in. “If you could be quiet for a few minutes…that would help. I’m nervous.”
“Jake Seresin, nervous?” you teased. “That’s a first.”
He smiled and shook his head. “Give me a break.”
“Okay, okay. I’ll be nice…for now.”
“I haven’t slept at all in the past week. I went to eleven different jewelry stores around San Diego but nothing seemed to scream ‘Y/N’. So, I decided to take a trip out of state.” He cleared his throat, and reached into his jacket pocket. You saw his hand shake as he did so. “Out of the country. That mini mission I went on while you were training? I was in Canada. Victoria, to be specific. Maverick and Rooster came along to help out.”
Now in his hand was a small velvet box, and inside was the most breathtaking ring you’d ever seen. “Diamond and ruby. They don’t sell plain red strings for rings…so I had them design this. The red thread of fate…the one that brought you into my life. We were kids when we promised to spend our lives together, if circumstances permitted. And I know we might’ve been young, but I’d be lying if I said I could imagine myself with someone that wasn’t you. There was a part of me that wished you wouldn’t find anyone before this day came along. It’s you, Y/N. It always has been.
“I’m not going to get down on one knee. I’m not going to give you a long, cheesy speech about divine power and soulmates. But I’m going to tell you this: you’re my forever, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. It’s getting cold out so I’ll cut to the chase: what I’m saying here is that I’m asking you to marry me.”
The world fell silent as you replied with a shaky nod, holding out a trembling hand as Jake slid the golden band onto your ring finger. Neither of you made a sound, and you swore you felt time stop and the ground crack wide open beneath your feet.

Tumblr media
There he was again. Your secret boyfriend. Mattheo Riddle. Surrounded by girls at one of the Slytherin parties. There were quite a few reasons to keep your relationship secret. His father. Your parents. His friends. Even your friends. He didn’t want you to be used against him as a weakness either.
Whatever the reasons, you were still fuming about how he spoke with the girls. Granted, he never did touch them or reciprocate their flirtations. But he didn’t push them away either or reject them outright.
He spotted you across the room, locking eyes with you and giving you his wicked smile that normally made you melt. When he got met with your crossed arms and eye roll, he knew you were mad and the smile dropped.
He was able to get away from the girls, redirecting them to his friends before he slipped away. He was pulling you away from everyone, skirting around the party to avoid anyone’s attention as he pulled you up to his dorm.
He closed the door behind you two before speaking. “Alright. What’s wrong, sweet girl?”
“Don’t call me that.” You said, crossing your arms over your chest again.
He sighed. “Fine. What’s wrong?”
You weren’t sure what to say, trying to figure out how to phrase it. You weren’t exactly prepared for this confrontation.
“Is it the girls?” He asked, stepping closer.
“Of course it is!” You nearly yelled. How can he be so stupid?
“Come on, princess. You know I can’t do anything about it.” He tried speaking softly as he touched your arm.
All that did though was piss you off even more. You pulled your arm from him and started yelling. “Yes, you can! You can tell them to back off! You can tell them you’re not interested!”
“I can’t do that. It’ll be suspicious. I don’t want people catching on that I have a girlfriend.” He said, keeping his voice calm.
You knew what he meant. He meant he didn’t want people to find out so they can use you against him or harm you. But you were mad, so of course the words were falling from your mouth faster than you were even thinking. “Oh, it’s so bad to have a girlfriend now? I’m that embarrassing to you?”
“No-” He tried interjecting, but you cut him off.
You were slipping into Arabic without even realizing it. You were just yelling and he was staring at you, stunned. It was the first time he’d heard you speak Arabic, let alone yelling it.
You stopped yelling after a few moments, looking at him to respond. “What?”
“That was so hot.” He said and his mouth was on yours.
The anger that you had was turning into desire for him as you guided you two towards the bed, lips pressed together still as you took off what clothes you could without breaking the kiss. He pushed you back onto the bed once you reached it and helped you out of your clothes, wasting no time to sink between your thighs and start licking and sucking like a starved man.
“Keep going. Talk to me.” He said, pushing two fingers inside you.
It took you a moment to start talking, rambling something about how good it feels and whatever else came to mind. It’s not like he knew what you were saying anyways.
“Fucking hot.” He groaned before licking at your clit again.
You kept your rambling, only breaking with moans and whimpers. His name falling from your mouth every few sentences as he was desperately trying to make you fall apart on his tongue and fingers.
“That’s fucking it. You gonna cum, princess? I wanna see you cum on my fingers. Look so pretty screaming my name.” He said, staring up at you between your legs.
You couldn’t deny him what he was craving, nearly begging for. You were falling apart for him only moments later, tugging his hair, trembling, crying out his name.
He flipped you over after riding out your orgasm, gripping your hips to pull back towards him. He slowly eased the head of his dick in, groaning as you moaned.
“You’re fucking hot when you’re mad.” He said with a slight struggle as he kept pushing inside you.
“My yelling turns you on?” You asked, gripping at the sheets.
“More than it should, probably.” He started thrusting, no longer being gentle, he gripped your hips with bruising force and fucking you fast and deep. “You can keep going if you’d like. Or would you rather scream my name?” He asked, leaning over to grab your hair, lifting your head from the bed.
“Fuck, Mattheo! I-fuck!” You cried out, finding it difficult to think with his cock hitting so deep inside you.
“Guess that’s my answer, huh?” He teased.
“Shut up!” You tried for an irritated tone, but it was hardly even halfhearted.
“Oh, but you love when I talk to you like this. Can feel how wet you get, love.” He leaned down so his chest was pressing against your back.
He was fucking into you so deep, he moved his hand from your hair to rub at your clit, making you whimper from how sensitive it was.
“Maybe you just needed to be reminded that I’m all yours in another way to get rid of that anger, hm?” He mused, pressing kisses along your upper back. “Fucking clenching me, princess, you gonna cum again already?”
All you could do was nod in response, your voice occupied with moaning and crying out with his thrusts.
“That’s it. Be a good girl then and cum for me.” He said softly. “Cum on my cock, pretty girl.”
And you were trembling again, crying out his name and you gripped at the sheets.
He cursed as he came from the feeling of your pussy trying to milk him, filling you with his cum.
“I’m all yours, sweet girl. You’re all mine, too.” He said reassuringly as he pressed kisses where he could reach as your body relaxed.

you glanced at your phone, the screen glowing ominously with matt's contact information. the weight of the moment settled on your shoulders as you took a deep breath, steeling yourself for what was to come.
with a trembling finger, you pressed the call button, the sound of the dial tone echoing in the quiet room. hope flickered within you, a fragile flame yearning for a warm conversation amidst the storm of uncertainty.
"hey, matt," you began, your voice gentle, as you carefully adjusted your grip on the phone, your fingers tracing the edges of the device. you took a moment to steady your breath, feeling the rise and fall of your chest, before continuing, "how are you?"
there was a pause on the other end, a silence that felt heavy and foreboding. the seconds stretched into an eternity, each one amplifying the tension that hung in the air like a storm cloud. “i’m fine, what about it?" matt's voice finally broke the silence, clipped and almost indifferent, as if he were brushing off an insignificant detail.
a pang of confusion and hurt shot through you, like an icy dagger piercing your heart. you furrowed your brows, the lines deepening as you tried to decipher the sudden chill in his tone. "are you okay? you seem upset," you asked, your voice laced with concern and uncertainty.
matt sighed, the sound crackling through the phone like a distant storm rolling over the horizon. "i'm fine. why do you always have to make a big deal out of everything?" he retorted, his words sharp and laced with an undercurrent of frustration.
your heart ached at his words, a dull throb of pain that resonated deep within. you struggled to keep your voice steady, fighting against the tide of emotions threatening to overwhelm you. "i was just asking because i care about you," you managed to say, each word a testament to your enduring concern and affection.
"well, don't," he snapped, cutting you off with the precision of a knife. "i don't need you checking up on me all the time," he continued, his words slicing through the fragile thread of connection between you, leaving behind an echo of cold detachment.
you bit your lip, feeling a lump form in your throat, as if the weight of unspoken words was choking you. the warmth of the conversation you had hoped for was slipping away, replaced by an icy barrier that seemed insurmountable.
"matt, it's not about checking up. i just want to make sure you're okay. is something bothering you?" you asked, your voice trembling with a mix of concern and desperation, hoping to pierce through the coldness that had enveloped him.
"just leave it," he said, his voice now a mix of frustration and exhaustion, like the final crack of a weary branch under the weight of snow. "i don't want to talk about it," he continued, each word laden with a heavy finality that seemed to close the door on any further attempts at understanding.
the river of your relationship had encountered a stone, and you couldn't help but wonder how long it would take to smooth it over, if at all. you took a deep breath, trying to keep your own emotions in check, like a dam holding back a flood.
"alright, matt. i'll give you some space. but remember, i'm here if you need to talk," you said, your words a gentle current, offering solace and a lifeline amidst the turbulent waters.
"yeah, whatever," he muttered, his voice a mere whisper of resignation before the line went dead, leaving behind an echo of unresolved tension and unanswered questions.
as you ended the call, you felt a mixture of confusion and sadness, like a fog that clouded your thoughts. the conversation replayed in your mind, each word a puzzle piece that didn't quite fit, an enigma wrapped in layers of unspoken truths. you couldn't shake the feeling that something deeper was at play, something matt wasn't ready to share, a hidden current beneath the surface of his words.
you know that matt's got you wrapped around his finger, twisting your thoughts and emotions like a marionette on tangled strings. he's got you so fucked up in the head that your mind feels like a labyrinth with no clear way out.
each step you take seems to lead you further into a maze of confusion and heartache, where his influence looms like an ever-present shadow. you're caught in a web of his making, struggling to find clarity amidst the chaos he's sown in your heart and mind.
he could utter the slightest things, mere whispers in the wind, and they would still echo in your head for the rest of the day, reverberating like a haunting refrain.
you know that you've never doubted yourself this much, each word he speaks planting seeds of uncertainty that grow into a tangled forest of self-doubt and confusion. his influence lingers, a spectral presence that shadows your every thought, leaving you questioning your own worth and reality.
you love him deeply, with a fervor that consumes you, but you hate how you've surrendered so much power over your emotions to him. you desperately wish you didn't, but this tumultuous rollercoaster is all you've ever known.
he was your first love, the one who etched his name into the very fabric of your being, and now you're caught in a cycle of passion and pain, unable to break free from the hold he has over your heart.
people often say that your first love is the one love you'll never get over, suggesting that their profound affection leaves an indelible mark on your soul. some might mean that in the way they loved you so deeply, their memory becomes an inextricable part of you. but that isn't the case for you.
you know you'll never get over the pain he punctured through your heart, each wound a reminder of the emotional scars that linger, a testament to the anguish that continues to haunt you.
it was toxic. one day, he was fine, showering you with affection and attention, and the next, he would turn cold, retreating into silence and ignoring you as if you didn't exist.
this unpredictable oscillation between warmth and indifference left you in a constant state of uncertainty, never knowing where you stood, and further entangling you in the web of emotional turmoil he spun around you.
and maybe, in some masochistic way, you find it all exhilarating, like a twisted game of chance.
which lover are you getting today? the affectionate boy who showers you with warmth, or the distant stranger who leaves you in the cold? the unpredictability adds a perverse thrill to the tumult, a dark allure that keeps you tethered to the chaos.
»--•--«
you know that you probably shouldn't be doing this, especially after he already snapped at you, but here you are, standing at his front door. despite the rational voice in your head urging you to turn back, the pull of unresolved emotions and the hope for a different outcome have led you to this very threshold, a testament to the complex dance of love and longing that continues to ensnare your heart.
you pressed your lips together, a silent battle waging within you as you debated whether to knock. the hesitation in your heart mirrored the turmoil in your mind, each moment stretching into an eternity as you stood there, caught between the desire to reach out and the fear of further rejection.
this was a bad idea, and deep down, you were acutely aware of it. perhaps it would be wiser to postpone this endeavor until tomorrow, allowing emotions to settle and reason to prevail?
but just as you were about to leave, the heavens opened up, and a torrential downpour began to cascade from the sky, as if the universe itself sought to mirror the tumultuous storm within your heart. each raindrop seemed to echo the unresolved emotions and unspoken words, creating a symphony of melancholy that enveloped the moment.
of course.
you found yourself with no alternative but to rap upon his door, and soon enough, matt appeared, his visage darkening with a shadow of irritation.
"why are you here?" he inquired, his arms crossing defensively, a barrier to the tumultuous emotions swirling within.
“can i come in?" you inquired softly, your voice barely above a whisper. matt, unable to meet your gaze, turned his eyes toward the relentless rain outside, seeking solace in the storm's embrace.
he wasn't entirely devoid of compassion. "yeah, come in," he responded with a frosty detachment, stepping aside to allow you entry, his demeanor as cold as the rain-soaked night.
he closed the door with a soft click that seemed to echo in the silence between you. “okay, what is it?” he queried, leaning against the door, his posture a mix of curiosity and guardedness.
"what's going on, matt?" you inquired directly, your voice slicing through the tension like a finely honed blade.
"what do you mean?" he responded, furrowing his eyebrows in a perplexed manner, his confusion evident in the deep lines etched across his forehead.
"i mean, what’s going on with you?" you pressed, crossing your arms defensively, your eyes searching his for any flicker of the person you once knew. "i know you, matt. this isn't you. this isn't the matt i committed to. the matt i knew was strong, dependable, and honest. but now, it feels like you're a shadow of your former self, and i can't help but wonder what's changed. please, just talk to me."
matt rolls his eyes, a gesture heavy with exasperation, before he begins pacing back and forth in the living room. his hands run through his hair in frustration, each pass through his locks a testament to the turmoil brewing within him. "why do you always have to make everything so dramatic? it's like you're looking for reasons to be upset."
you stand by the door, arms crossed tightly across your chest, your voice trembling with a mix of fear and determination. "i'm not making things dramatic, matt. i'm just trying to understand why one moment you're sweet and the next you're cold. it's like i'm always walking on eggshells around you."
matt halts abruptly and pivots to face you, his eyes narrowing into slits, a storm of emotions brewing just beneath the surface. "oh, here we go again. you always turn things around to make me the bad guy. maybe if you weren't so sensitive, we wouldn't have these problems."
you take a deep breath, your chest rising and falling with the effort, as tears begin to well up in your eyes, shimmering like fragile crystals on the verge of breaking. "sensitive? matt, you never take responsibility for how you treat me. it's always my fault somehow. i feel like i'm taking one step forward and then three steps back with you. it's exhausting."
matt rolls his eyes, a gesture laden with disdain, before throwing his hands up in exasperation, the motion a dramatic display of his mounting frustration. "well, maybe if you stopped overthinking everything, we'd be fine. i can't deal with your constant need for reassurance."
you move closer, each step heavy with emotion, your voice breaking like fragile glass under the weight of unspoken words. "i just want to feel loved and secure, matt. but with you, it's like i'm constantly guessing where i stand. one day you love me, the next day you push me away. it's breaking my heart."
matt scoffs, a derisive sound escaping his lips, as he shakes his head, the gesture filled with a blend of disbelief and contempt. "you're being ridiculous. if you can't handle me at my worst, maybe you don't deserve me at my best."
you wipe a tear from your cheek, the delicate motion betraying your vulnerability, as your voice emerges, barely a whisper, fragile and laden with unspoken sorrow. "i just wish you could see how much this is hurting me. i don't know how much more of this back and forth i can take."
matt crosses his arms, a barrier of defiance, and looks away, his voice cutting through the air with a frigid detachment. "maybe you should think about that."
you feel your heart shatter into a thousand irreparable fragments, the weight of his words sinking in like stones dragging you into the depths of despair. "is that what you really want? for me to leave?"
matt shrugs with an air of indifference, his eyes deliberately avoiding your gaze, as if the very act of looking at you would acknowledge the gravity of the moment. "i don't know. maybe it's for the best."
you take a step back, the ground beneath you feeling unsteady, as the room swirls around you in a dizzying maelstrom of confusion and disorientation. "i can't believe you would say that. after everything we've been through..."
matt finally turns his gaze towards you, his eyes a labyrinth of emotions, his expression an enigmatic mask that conceals the depths of his true feelings. "maybe it's time we both move on."
you turn and walk toward the door, each step weighed down by an unbearable sorrow, your heart a leaden anchor dragging through the sea of your despair. "i never thought it would end like this, matt. i loved you more than anything."
matt watches as you leave, a fleeting shadow of regret flickering across his face like a ghost of unspoken words. yet, he remains silent, his lips sealed by the weight of his own inaction, allowing you to slip away without a struggle.
you slam the door behind you with a resounding finality that reverberates through the empty corridors, each echo a testament to the storm brewing within. without even a flicker of awareness, you step into the relentless downpour, the cold rain mingling with the heat of your unresolved emotions, as if the heavens themselves weep in harmony with the tempest of your soul.
the raindrops, like silent witnesses to your sorrow, mingle with your tears, creating a symphony of despair. your hair, drenched and tangled, clings to your face, while your clothes, heavy with the weight of the storm, adhere to your skin, as if the very elements conspire to mirror the turmoil within.
»--•--«
the morning after was a wretched affair. you had barely crossed the threshold of your sanctuary before succumbing to the weight of your exhaustion, collapsing onto your bed as if the very essence of your being had been drained.
you lifted your head, the pillow bearing the telltale signs of your turmoil—mascara and tear stains mingling in a somber tapestry. with a groan, you came to the disheartening realization that you had succumbed to sleep with your makeup still on, the remnants of yesterday's trials etched upon your face.
you sat up, your feet meeting the unforgiving chill of the floor as you made your way to the bathroom. there, under the dim light, you meticulously rinsed away the remnants of your makeup, each stroke a small act of reclamation. finally, you brushed your teeth, the rhythmic motion offering a semblance of normalcy amidst the chaos.
you walked back over to your bed, sinking into its embrace as you reached for your phone. with a weary sigh, you began to scroll through it, the soft glow of the screen casting fleeting shadows on your face as you sought a momentary escape in its digital realm.
but then, the tranquility was abruptly shattered by the resonant chime of your doorbell, echoing through the stillness and pulling you back to reality.
you placed your phone gently on the bedside table, rising from your sanctuary and making your way towards the front door, each step a deliberate movement through the quietude of your home.
your fingertips grazed against the cold metal of the door handle, the chill seeping into your skin as you clicked it open, revealing matt standing outside, his presence stirring a whirlwind of emotions.
anger and fury surged through your veins, propelling you to slam the door shut with a forceful resolve, but in a swift motion, matt's hand intercepted it, halting its closure and igniting a silent, yet palpable, confrontation.
"wait, i just wanna talk," he uttered, his voice laced with a desperate urgency, each word a fragile plea hanging in the air between you, seeking to bridge the chasm of misunderstanding and hurt.
you stepped aside, granting him passage, and with a hesitant breath, he crossed the threshold, his presence altering the atmosphere with unspoken tension and unresolved emotions.
you both made your way to the living room, each step laden with the weight of unspoken words and simmering tension, the air thick with the anticipation of the conversation to come.
the morning light filters through the curtains, casting a soft, ethereal glow across the living room, illuminating the dust motes that dance in the still air. matt sits on the edge of the couch, his shoulders hunched and his head cradled in his hands, a picture of silent despair.
as you cross your arms and step into the light, he looks up, his eyes brimming with a rare vulnerability, a silent plea for understanding and connection, the weight of unspoken words hanging heavily between you.
“okay,” he begins, his voice softer than usual. he shifts slightly, the tension in his shoulders visible as he takes a deep breath. "i’ve been thinking a lot about what you said last night. i know i can be cold and push you away, and that's not fair to you. i guess i’ve been scared to let you in completely, but that’s no excuse for how i’ve treated you."
he stands, his movements slow and deliberate, as if each step is weighed down by the gravity of his words. he takes a hesitant step towards you, his gaze earnest and unwavering. "i’m sorry for making you feel like you’re walking on eggshells. you deserve to feel loved and secure, not constantly guessing where you stand. i’ve been selfish, and i see that now."
matt’s eyes meet yours, and for the first time, there’s a glimmer of genuine regret. he takes a deep breath, his chest rising and falling slowly, as if gathering the courage to speak. "i don't want to lose you. i promise to work on being more consistent and taking responsibility for my actions. you mean too much to me to keep hurting you like this."
his voice breaks slightly as he continues, his hands trembling ever so slightly. "please, give me another chance to show you that i can be the partner you deserve. i love you, and i’m willing to do whatever it takes to make things right."
he takes another step closer, his hand reaching out tentatively, fingers trembling as if afraid you might pull away. his eyes, brimming with unshed tears, lock onto yours with an intensity that speaks volumes. "i know words are not enough, and trust must be rebuilt. but i am ready to put in the effort, to prove to you that i can change. every day, i will strive to be better, not just for you, but for us."
matt’s voice trembles with emotion, his eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "i’ve realized that pushing you away was my way of protecting myself, but in doing so, i’ve hurt the person i care about the most. i can’t bear the thought of a life without you. please, let me show you that i can be the man you fell in love with, the one who cherishes every moment with you."
he pauses, taking a deep breath, his chest rising and falling as if he’s trying to steady the storm of emotions within him, "i understand if you need time to think about this, and i will respect whatever decision you make. just know that i am here, ready to fight for us, ready to love you the way you deserve to be loved."
matt’s eyes are now brimming with unshed tears, his vulnerability laid bare before you, like an open book revealing its most fragile pages. "i love you more than words can express, and i am willing to do whatever it takes to make things right. please, give me another chance."
you connect your lips with his, and for once, it feels as though you’ve taken a monumental step forward without the burden of retreating several steps back. in that fleeting yet profound moment, the weight of past missteps and hesitations seems to dissolve, leaving only the pure, unadulterated connection between your souls.

ok so i saw someone with a similar request but not too similar but i wanna request jake sully x reader where they were dating back on earth and decided to go to pandora together. they both have their avatars and sleep with eachother but jake ends up falling in love with neytiri and reader finds out blablabla. reader leaves the forest and goes to another clan which is the ocean clan where tonowari and them are. they let reader stay. reader find out that she’s pregnant with twins (i don’t think they have twins in pandora so let’s just say that twins don’t exist there and ronal is shocked because she’s never seen this before). reader never went back to the forest to tell jake and doesn’t plan on telling him. she has twins a boy and a girl reyna and ralan(reader is poc btw but it’s ok if she’s not). fast forward to 15 years later where the sully family comes and they reunite but reader doesn’t speak to him or look at him and reader doesn’t want her kids around the sully family at all. reader and her kids use some technology(the little thing that the sullys use to communicate) that she stole. the rest is yours to come up with. srry if it’s a lot u don’t have to do it if u don’t want to
Jake x ex reader + sully family/ kids/metkayian clan
My past and future
Tumblr media
avatar masterlist
You had went to pandora as a scientist and looking for a new life, with your long term boyfriend Jake sully. You had been there for him in his time of grief over the death of his brother and the choice of taking his brother place. You and jaw were deeply in love and you thought of spending the rest of your life with him. Even you had thought he will want to be the rest of his life with you, but that all changed when he fall in love with neytiri and ended your relationships. Jake and neytiri are so in love that they forgot their might be others who will be affected by their relationships. Many thing changed for you losing your boyfriend/ friends and even your friends as you were having a hard time dealing with a broken heart. You had given up your human life to fight for the omatacayia and none of them seem to welcome you, think you were the other women coming to steal their toruk makto from neytiri. So one night you couldn't take it anymore and decide it will be best to leave, only mo'at caught you leaving the night and wished you luck on your journey and new life. So your life to the forest and headed toward the reef only looking back once, that night your life had changed and will never be the same.
y/n " ......." you were walking around the village that become your new home, the metkayain clan had taken you in and allowed you to stay, after they saw you meet them no harm. y/n " that wonderful my friend"
ronal " how are you and the twins"
y/n " we are doing well and as for my twins Reyna and relena, they have ran off with your children this morning" you had given birth to twins which shocked the clan as they never seen twins before, the twins had inherited human DNA from you and their father. They are born and are navi like you but have five fingers/toes along with eye brows as well.
ronal " that is wonderful I'm happy our children have become friends, as all three of you have learn our ways and become one of us"
y/n " thank you ronal"
ronal " you have helped us as well understanding the return of the sky people and their ways, along with teach me your medical ways as well" you and ronal had become friend over the year bonding over motherhood and, the ways of eywa you had become important to the people.

y/n " what are you boys doing" all three teenage boys soon looked at you as you standing there.
renya " hey mom I was showing the guys some of the stuff they have seen here, I was also wondering if I can borrow the camera as well"
y/n " sure my boy"
rotxo " we mean no harm"
y/n " I know rotxo but these are the last few things I have of my past before I came here"
aonung " we understand we will make sure they don't get damage"
y/n " I know you all will now run along don't waste a whole good day laying around" the three teens soon smiled taking off with the camera, there was no lying renya was like his father but had more sense to him, while relena was like you. leaving home was the greatest thing you had done as it allowed you to start over and move on from the past.
later that night
y/n " it good the day is finally now over"
????? " I swear y/n I don't even know what you see Jake sully jarhead is completely idiot" you soon heard grace voice you were now standing in the entrance of your home.
???? "hey that hurt"
y/n " be nice you twi Jake doing us a great favor on helping us with the navi" you had seen the twins and their friends watching some of your video tapes.
tsireya " wow you mom is so beautiful as a human"
relena " I know right but who this Jake guy mama has never mentioned him"
renya " maybe he an old friend of hers from the past"
aonung " wow some of these human seem kinda of nice"
rotxo " let watch another one"
renya " okay but we have to make it sure before mom get home"
y/n " oh I'm home" the kids soon stopped the video tape and looked at you as you standing there.
renya " hey mom we were just hanging around at home"
y/n " boy I'm not a fool I know what you are doing"
the kids " sorry"
y/n " there nothing to be sorry about children"
tsireya " we really love watching your videos y/n there are amazing"
y/n "thank you now hurry home all three of you your mom will be waiting for you" the three teens soon nodded their heads bidding goodbye to the twins.
relena " mama who is this Jake sully he seems very close to you"
y/n " kids sit down there is something I wish to speak to you all about, you are all older enough to know now"
renya " mom"
y/n " I will tell you all over dinner it might help deal with the news" the twins didn't say anything else as they helped you make dinner, you soon told them the story of you and their father Jake sully. The mighty toruk makto. The one ones who knew of your kids father here was ronal and tonowair and they kept that a secret.
renya " does he know about us"
y/n " no he doesn't know he was starting a family with neytiri, and it soon become uncomfortable to be there for me"
relena " so we might have siblings"
y/n " yes"
renya " will the RDA be after us mom"
y/n " no they think I"m dead along with everyone else back home, there was a fire and bad storm, I don't think anyone knows I'm alive"
relena " mom do you regret having us"
y/n " no you guys are my greatest treasure and I will not changing have you all for anything"The kids smile towards you they had so long wanted to know about their dad, and now they are learning about him.
renya " mom why are you not mad about how they treated you, he was your almost mate then he betrayed you and so did everyone else"
y/n " I was mad at first and upset but I soon moved come coming here, gave me a new start on life away from the past but I can't always run from my past"
renya " well we love you mom and we think you are amazing"
y/n " thank you kids" The twins soon got up and hugged you they ere happy to know you still love them and will always love them, but they felt hurt as they hated how you had been treated. It seems like the kids had shared the news with their friends, talking about Jake made you feel better as it helped you deal with the pain that was caused by him and everyone else.
Few days later
ronal " thank you for coming over to help me today"
y/n " anytime it good to be helpful" you were helping ronal in the healer hut when the horn had been blown, single someone had come to the village. You soon stopped what you were doing and rushed to see what was the matter, as everyone was gather you had been able to see a little bit.
navi child " mommy those ikran look like y/n ikran"
navi women " they sure do my son" you soon got a better look to see abig group of ikran, on the sandy beach soon many thoughts were running through you head. It couldn't be them right there was not ay maybe it was another forest or mountain tribe. As you moved closer and closer you soon saw face you had never thought you will ever see again it was Jake sully and most of the omatacayia clan. You could feel your heart racing as you looked at him as he walked towards the village with his Neytiri and children behind them.
Jake " hey" it seems like none of them had noticed your they might not even remember you as fifteen years had gone by for you and them. You were standing alone the the sully group soon stopped walking. Soon a warrior cry had been heard it was tonowari he soon landing his strimwing in the water and came up to where everyone was standing.
Jake " I see you tonowair"
tonowari " i see you Jake sully" you were looking for the twins and their friends but you hadn't spotted them yet. Ronal soon made her way towards the newcomers as well.
Jake " I see you ronal"
tonowari " why have you come here Jake sully"
Jake " we came here to sneak uturu"
ronal " uturu"
Jake " yes refugee for my family and clan here please"
tonowari " we dont want any part of your war as we are dealing with our own troubles with the sky people"
Jake " I promise I'm not here to bring war I'm done with that"
tonowari " yes we know of your war and the sky people who are called humans, someone who was just like you came to us fifteen years ago" the adult omatacaya and human seem very confused by tonowari words.
y/n " that person will be me that tonowari is talking about" you soon stepped out from the crowd and looked, towards the people and navi who were once apart of your life.
Jake " y/n is that you"
y/n " who else will it be Jake" Jake had a smile on his face seeing you and so did neytiri, you didnt pay them any attention. You were looking at the group two of the children who had human features looked at you and smiled.
ronal " there arms and tails are weak they won't be fit here"
y/n " they can learn ronal like I have and many other as well" you soon stopped around them.
tonowari " ......" tonowari and ronal were looking at each other and soon nodded their heads in agreement.
ronal " y/n as you know these navi and have a past with them what is your choice"
y/n " we should help them as it the will of eywa and they have asked for help so we will help them"
tonowari " then it decided the sully family and company will be staying with us and learning our wars, my children along with their friends will help the sully children learn our ways"
aonung " father are you sure that a good idea for the twins"
renya " aonung it will be okay"
tonowari " y/n"
y/n " the children will be best suited it help the sully children and any of their friends tonowari" tonowari knew what his son meant even he was regretting saying the twins should help out. The kids had helped the sully family move their stuff along with you as well.
y/n " this where you family will be staying the rest of the clan will be staying the the empty homes near by"
Jake " thank you y/n so much"
kiri " dad what about norm and the others"
y/n " don't worry young lady it will be okay they have been given some land to say on, that has been approved by the tshaik and oloeythan"
tuk " hey I'm tuk and you are very beautiful"
y/n " hello tuk I'm y/n and thank you"
tuk " you are just like my daddy and siblings"
y/n " yes I'm" you had placed some of the stuff down near te entreat to be moved later. you had seen all the kids talking about something with the sully kids they seem to be getting along well. That made you happy.
Jake " umm y/n"
y/n " jake"
Jake " there is some much I wish to say right now I can't wait to tell everyone you are alive and well here, once they get here it has been"
y/n " fifteen years you and neytiri are happy together and have a family I'm happy for you"
Jake " thank you"
neytiri " y/n"
y/n " neytiri .... well I will leave you to get unpacked and settled even some rest it has been a long journey here" you soon started walking away from the couple towards the children.The sully kids soon bid goodbye to tonowari kids and the twins. You had stayed back to take sure everyone was doing well but one of the kids had gotten everyone attention, it was the boy who looked like he could be neteyaj twin. You were soon gone with the children before anyone else could ask or speak to you.
renya " mom what are we going to do now"
y/n " well we will help them as it the ways of eywa you don't have to have a father and child relationship with him, if you don't wish that my children that for you to decide"
relena " yes mom what about our siblings"
y/n " you can have a relationship with them they are innocent of what happened in the past, you can have a relationship with them"
renya " what about you mom"
y/n " I will be civil with Jake and neytiri I will love to get to know the kids, a bit more but I will have to deal with everyone from my past on my own at some point I will share the news of you both with Jake ... as after today many questions will be asked"
twins " yes mom"
y/n " I know you kids will make me proud no matter what happens" the twins smiled towards you as the family of three gather around for dinner. That night you were up think about what the future days will hold of you and your kids, know that your ex is back and knowing everyone they will not take the news of your hiding your pregnancy and leaving but in truth that was not their decision it was your decision and that the end of the day you never regret it at all.

Hiii i hope you're feeling better soon :(( I was wondering if I could request a Dazai x reader fic where the reader has PTSD? Specifically, the beginning of autumn kind of triggers her (sorry if it's a confusing i dunno how to word it lol) Could it be fluff/comfort? Btw I love your writing style so badly so pls tweak the idea if you think it would work better! And no worries if you'd rather pass :33
hii angel i genuinely am sorry that this took me a while! (work and life happened a little more than usual, GOT SICK and barely had time to sit down and write.) it was so ivover but i am fine now thank u so much bub!
i REALLY hope you like this and that it's what u wanted, i've never written someone w PTSD before and i was just rlly hoping i didn't mess this characterization up for ur request ahhh. i had such a nice time writing it and i rlly wanted to explore the impact it could have around reader and dazai and him going out of his way even if it could be a little goofy and sappy to make u feel at least a little better even if u can't talk abt it.
i love uuuu thank u again! <3
~ a little something about Dazai noticing harmful patterns and loving you through them ~
Tumblr media
He's been watching you sit by the window for the past half hour as you stare at what seems like the beginning of the new season outside. You were quieter than usual, more withdrawn and jumpy, which could only mean that you weren't sharing something with him- or rather having trouble processing something to the point where you didn't realize he could tell something inside you was on high alert.
Dazai would rather die than see you in such a state, especially during what's supposed to be such an exciting time of the year that's full of the things you usually love to do. Whatever is impeding you from enjoying the leaves falling has to be dealt with the most delicate of methods, but especially with love. If you taught him anything about the past haunting you to the point of mental distress, something he suffered bouts of every now and then when memories made days grow dark, it's that all you need is one person to truly witness you. Just like how you've seen the ugliest parts of him time and time again yet you still look at him with all the stars in the sky, stars he consumes like a black hole waiting to be filled.
Luckily for you, he has an arsenal of things he can try to soothe you with, because he wouldn't be a good detective AND boyfriend if he didn't keep all those context clues in his pocket for a bad day. Mainly though, he was just completely attuned to your every need. You are his happiness, and your wellness isn't up for debate: It's mandatory. He stands up from the loveseat with a deep exhale as he walks over to you, his lips curled in a lazy smile as he tests the waters to see what you could need from him without asking.
"You know, if you stay any more still I could probably paint you like one of those fancy paintings. What do you say, be my model?"
You look over at him from the window, and he can visibly tell you haven't been at ease lately. He suddenly realizes he's just fallen even more in love with you. That there is nothing in this world that could ever let him see you as anything but his heart.
You murmur, a faint smile decorating your serene face.
"Mm, I'm not sure. I don't think I could pose for that long, you know? It would probably be hard to catch my likeness, heh."
He clicks his tongue and rolls his eyes with a playful smirk. Oh how he wants to lean in and worship your likeness with his loving touch, but he decides to take it easy on the physical affection for now, not until he knows you're feeling up for it. He can be a good boy, something he usually isn't.
"Well, I wouldn't mind being the brave young knight who tries~ Shall we take this outside for better lighting?"
You instantly don't give him a good reaction to that. You shrug, seeming conflicted and unsure of yourself, but unable to really bring yourself to explain with words, something uncharacteristic of you.
No problem! Dazai thinks to himself. If you don't want to go outside, he can bring outside to you in the comfort of home. He'll enhance your safe space, and tailor it to just what you need. He hums, tapping his temple in an exaggerated manner as if he were thinking really hard and when he sees that it gets a small giggle out of you, he knows he's on the right track.
"Hm, I know what we should do instead. Wait here, angel.~"
He disappears into the hallway and you sit there as the sound of cabinets opening and rummaging around fills the air. You smile to yourself, and shake your head at the mental image of Dazai becoming a tornado to find whatever he's looking for right now, hoping he doesn't make too much of a mess. You fidget with your hair, twirling it in between your fingers as you take a deep grounding breath while you wait.
A moment later, he comes back with what seems like art supplies and a ton of mini candlesticks.
He knows you're intrigued when you tilt your head in confusion, but then again that's probably just the confusion... Dazai sets down two canvases along with the candles, flashing you a mischievous grin. If you couldn't process your feelings through words, art was always there! You look over the activities he's laid out for you both, awaiting his silver tongued explanation.
"You know when I want to be the little spoon but I don't say anything?"
You laugh softly, and nod.
"Mhm, you get all moody and weird."
He nods back, a half smile on his face as he rests his hands on his hips. He wants to tell you that the only reason he even knew such intimate luxuries is because you showed him that he's worthy of it, of being loved, but he doesn't say anything. He lets the sweet memories between you swim through his mind as fuel for the day he's trying to create for you. His voice sounds more like he's talking out loud now, lost in a thought..
"You make me moody and weird. You also make me want to grab your soft little face and just..."
He then snaps back to the moment, and his tone picks up.
"... But alas, there is no time to waste! Come, sit, I'll get the other things ready.~"
He zooms off to the kitchen, and your heart softens at how much he fusses over you, though you also hope you aren't being too much. You know he'd hate to hear that, so you simply sit down and look over the supplies you had honestly forgotten you had.
Dazai makes tea, because he knows it helps with your fidgeting and you like how the mug feels in your hands, he also begins to set the candle sticks all over the living room, lighting them one by one. You flash him a look of faint concern.
"Feels like Dracula's castle. You sure this is safe, Osamu?"
He simply grins impishly.
"It's called 'mood lighting', cutie. There is an atmosphere to be created!"
"Yeah, and possibly a wildfire."
"Boo, you're no fun. Besides, that sounds like a problem for future us. We live in the moment."
Dazai would never risk your safety and you know that, which is why you don't push the topic any further.
You two settle in, the candles illuminating you both with a warm flame that feels more comforting than you'd like to admit, you feel yourself becoming more immersed in the random little doodles and brush strokes you create as you both talk for hours about literally nothing while sipping on your tea. Nothing feels nice, for once and Dazai can see it in the way you slowly become less and less tense. So mindful, so beautiful.
After you fill your canvas, you set it down, and peer over at Dazai's.
"What'd you paint?"
He smiles sheepishly, and hides his.
"Not finished yet. No peeking!"
He stands up and in one swift motion, runs outside, while leaving you bewildered at the spontaneity of the situation. A few moments later, he runs back inside, huffing with his arms behind his back. He sits back down on the floor with you, criss crossed. He grabs his canvas, and puts something on it as he slowly unveils his work to you.
It's a single crisp leaf he must have plucked from the grass when it fell, the orange and reddish hue placed on the canvas that shows a cartoonishly painted tree as well. He murmurs, eyes trained lovingly on you but with that familiar playful tone.
"I wanted you to get a little air. It's good for one's mood, you know."
You slowly take the leaf, and twiddle it in your thumb as you begin to smile to yourself. You mutter back.
"The weather changes, moods change, it's so overwhelming sometimes..."
He slowly leans in a little closer and places a hand on the small of your back, inching you closer to him too. He wants to distract you from those thoughts affecting you, but it's getting harder when all he can think about is how much you affect him. He whispers.
"My mood never changes, you're the most precious thing I have ever seen all year round."
You look up at him, your eyes communicating what you feel, and he picks up on it with a silent confirmation. You hold each other's gaze for a long quiet moment and when you feel ready you lean into his chest, nuzzling into him. He envelops you in a hug that feels like the remedy you've been searching for this whole time, and it almost brings you to tears. You don't know it also does the same to him. He gives you a soft squeeze and leans down to your ear, his warm breath feeling like the way life is supposed to feel. You mumble, your voice slightly muffled against him.
"Thank you, Osamu. Love you."
He smiles at that. To be something so soothing to you, to be of use for once in his life, it's a feeling that he could never describe. He'll have to find the words when he covers you in kisses from head to toe later, when he makes sure you feel the full extent of his devotion to you through thick and thin. He exhales deeply.
"Change of season, change of mind... It doesn't matter to me. It's still you. It will always be you."

author's note. MISSED THIS BOY SO MUCH DURING UL, hope you like this!! (tysm for requesting, sorry it took so long!) AND BTW, i found like a lot of lastnames and i decided for this one (not sure if is the canon one ://)
Tumblr media
I was sure that my return to the city would be harder. After all, I couldn't blame anyone for being angry with me. If one of my friends just left, without even saying goodbye, I wouldn't be happy either. But, luckily for me, they had a much better reaction than I expected.
At the moment, I only saw Rosa and Melody. Although perhaps I didn't know how to show it at the time, having seen them after so long squeezed my heart so much that I still feel my emotions on the surface.
To tell the truth, I'm scared. Although I used to seeing eachother very often in high school, whether to go out for a drink or just to walk around the city, this is not high school anymore. And it's now, when I'm getting ready to go out, that I feel like I'm getting ready in my old room to go shopping with the them. The phone vibrates, and brings me out of my melancholic thoughts.
I look at him out of the corner of my eye, the screen glows with a notification from Alex.
Alex…
I refrain from further worries and simply read it from the preview.
"[Y/NNN]??? we are waiting for youuuu"
"Years waiting to see you, and you still late🙄"
I smiled wistfully. I know he says it jokingly, but the guilt is real. But that's not important now, because it's once and for all my time to fix that, and to get back on track with my life here. I type a quick, “on my way,” before pocketing my phone and heading out the door to my campus room. Although the phone rings again, I don't bother checking it and I hurry to arrive on time.
Tumblr media
I look at the time on the screen: "11:48." I curse under my breath. I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I'm lost, and that even though I've been wandering around on the same street for more than twenty minutes, I still can´t find the bar. On the other hand, who would think of inviting someone to a place and not sending the address?
When I start to stress again, I recognize a voice in the distance that I would recognize anywhere. It's Alex. I follow the sound, although I don't pay attention to what it says, none of it matters when I see it. His eyes light up and he falls silent immediately. As I expected, he almost hugged me to the ground. Rosa also briefly joined our hug, smiling as she watched us interact.
"Finally!" He screeches in my ear, and although it dazes me a little I laugh out loud. "I missed you like crazy…" He whispered to me, and I had to separate myself for a moment to not burst out crying in my place.
"I missed you, Alex.." I sighed, but he seemed to notice my mood, changing the subject slighlty.
"You´re back, all that matters." He jokes, and I smile. "I hope you're ready for the surprise then."
I raise an eyebrow. "Surprise?"
"Yes, I told you by text." He emphasized obviously, gesturing towards his phone.
Of course, the text I didn't read. I nod briefly, so he thinks I know what he's talking about. Their surprises honestly scare me. They can go from something exciting to something illegal, you never know what to expect from these two. I'm nervous yes, I assume the "surprise" is inside.
"It's not bad at all." Rosa calms me down, she seems to read my mind sometimes. "I promise you'll be happy"
Well, now I'm scared.
Alexy wastes no time in cutting off the conversation, and Rosa simply presses her hand on my back lovingly, urging me to enter the disco-bar, "Snake Room." This was definitely not there when I lived here. Well, most of the things I see now didn't used to be there. Upon entering I immediately notice the loud music, the smoke and the smell of alcohol, the lights blur my vision a little, and it is difficult for me to discern where Alex is.
Rosa guides me a little to the table near the bar, which seems to be one of the quietest places in the place. But that's when the colored lights hanging near the stage allow me to catch a glimpse of him.
"I thought it would be nice for you to see each other again." Alex says, trying to calm the tension in the air.
My breath stops for a few moments. I don't know how to feel, but my body responds on its own. I'm shaking a little, and at this point I don't know if it's the flashing lights or their presence that's making me dizzy. I can barely move to get close to greet him. He changed a lot. Of course his essence is still there, I can tell, but it's definitely different.
"Welcome back." His voice is also different, deeper I could say. It throws me off a little. Well, all of him does. I curse myself internally. I was convinced I was ready for this, but I see I'm not.
I smile at him reflexively, and sit down across from him. The silence feels quite loud now that I feel his gaze on me, even though I avoid making eye contact. Rosa clears her throat, and gestures indiscreetly at Alex. I would laugh, if it weren't for the fact that this whole situation has me totally overwhelmed. I look at him for a few seconds, but he was already looking at me. God, I don't know if I can handle this.
"I imagined you´d be happier…" He smiled with amusement, and I couldn't help but feel my heart skip a beat at his expression. He looks boyish, in a strange way. It's as if for a moment, his expression took me back to high school Armin.
"I'm surprised, that's all." I laugh nervously.
"Well, he came all the way here just to see you." Alexy clarifies, but Rosa waves him off with a glare.
I look at him with my eyes slightly open. "You´re not living here?" The question escapes me before I can think about it.
"Not quite." He clarifies, and takes a sip of beer. It's now that my throat feels a little dry, but I don't feel like drinking alcohol. I could end up doing things i´ll regret. "Although now that you're back, I'd think about it." He winks at me.
I looked to the side, and felt my cheeks burn a little. It looked like it was going to be a long night.
Tumblr media
"I thought you were tougher." Rosa reproaches, tripping a little, but Alexy holds her steady. "Now you go to bed early and don't drink. You've become an old man." He grimaces, and a laugh escapes us.
"It's not that!" Alex complains. "I just wanted to greet [y/n] sober." He looks at me smiling, and I smile back. "I'll take care of the old drunk" Rosa exclaims a "hey!" and hits him lightly on the shoulder, but he doesn't flinch.
"Are you back on campus?" Armin asks me, and then I remember that he is, in fact, still here. He looks at me, waiting for my response but I freeze instantly. Every time he speaks I experience the same embarrassment.
"Well, I'll leave you, lovebirds." The idiot does it on purpose. But for the first time, I notice that I'm not the only one embarrassed, Armin's cheeks turn pink, and he sends a reproachful look to his twin, who smiles innocently. Some things never change, I see. "Take care of her." It sounds more like a threat than a request, to which the black-haired man rolls his eyes and nods.
I watch Alexy walk away in the opposite direction.
Silence falls between us, and it is until we see the two disappear after turning down the street that I understand that I am alone with him. I smile awkwardly at him before taking a couple steps back.
"I'll walk you back." I open my eyes a little, and look at him with surprise. He seems sure of his words, and looks at me expectantly with that smile of his that I still have to get used to. "I don't like the idea of you walking alone,"
"As much of a gentleman as I remembered." I reply, a flirtatious smile escaping me and Armin simply smiles wider. "It's close, anyway"
"I insist." His expression is confident, and well, I don't mind his company either.
With a slight nod of my head, Armin understands that I agree, so we start walking towards the campus. The silence this time is not awkward, and although we don't talk about anything, it really feels like there are an infinite number of topics to touch on. Not very pleasant topics. After all, we can't ignore that we were together, and that the break-up wasn´t the most pacific thing either.
"I was also glad to see you again." I whisper, and even though my voice sounds quiet, he hears me. He always does.
"I figured you'd be mad." He confesses, and although I don't see his face I know he's looking at me.
Deep down, yes I am. But I'm not sure if that was enough of a reason to ruin the evening and Alex's surprise. It would have been nice to have mentally prepared myself so that I wouldn't have reacted like a schoolgirl to seeing him.
"Well, it's been a long time…" I clear my throat a little. "I have my reasons to be tho."
"Yeah, but I bet you forgot all of it with how good I look." He mocks, smiling widely.
I click my tongue. "You can't use your face to change the past."
"You're right, but I can use it to change things now." A lopsided smile appears on his features, and his comment takes me by surprise.
I tense up suddenly and simply look away. I hate that probably if he tried… "You're too cocky." I complain.
Deep down, I wonder if that would bother me. It's stupid. Armin didn't care that we broke up, I really wonder what his intentions are now. But, I can't deny that the memory is still alive in me. Everything about him remains in me as if he had never left, and it bothers me that I couldn't change that in this embarrassing amount of time we were apart.
"I just feel like I'm not the only one." Armin grumbles, shoving his hands into the pockets of his baggy pants. Now I also notice that his style is different. It doesn't seem like his brother intervenes as much in his clothes as before, that is, he maintains a bit of his own style more than anything. More calm and informal.
"What is that supposed to mean?" I grimace, crossing my arms before looking back at him.
"I say that because I notice the way you look at me." His words make me even more angry. Sometimes I feel like there is no one who can read me like he does. It was always like this, since we were young. One expression on my face was enough for Armin to decipher what was happening to me.
"I―no.." I stuttered and he noticed it, however, he didn't continue probing and I remained silent.
The walk to campus was getting shorter, and I wasn't sure I knew how to say goodbye. Everything was so strange. It's not that I want to see him, but knowing that he was going to leave made me feel like I couldn't just leave him like that. My heart is beating fast, I feel like even he can hear it.
And although it seems like things can't get any worse, several drops falling on my hair bring me out of my frantic thoughts. The chance of rain was quite low today, but of course it has to rain anyway.
"This weather is a bit nice." Armin points out, extending his palm to feel the raindrops on it, which slowly intensify.
"Nice? I'm soaking my clothes." I grumble, trying to cover myself a little.
"On one of these days we kissed for the first time" Armin smiles to himself, and simply lowers his gaze to look me in the eyes.
Shit. I didn't expect to have to think about this again. Less now that he´s here. Of course I remember it. I invited him to eat at the restaurant where we made that ridiculous double date that I actually still remember as one of my most precious moments.
On the way back home, rain started pouring and us, like idiots, hide nder a tree until it calmed down a bit. I wouldn´t forget something as special as that.
"You have no right Armin." I feel my eyes water at the memory, but I am relieved to know that because of the rain it is not very noticeable. "You can't say that now."
"It's not easy to pretend that I don't remember anything that happened." He frowns a little and stops in the middle of the street, forcing me to do the same.
"I'm not asking you to do it but…" I stop, feeling a sudden lump in my throat.
"And you can't pretend that the same thing doesn't happen to you."
And he is right. He always is when he talks about my feelings. He is correct, of course. Since I saw him, I knew that in fact, nothing of what I felt for him had managed to dissipate over the years. My heart still belongs to him.
"I lost you once, [y/n]. I can't let you go again…" His words hit me like a bucket of cold water. "When I knew you were coming back I―…"
I interrupted him. "Do you think it's easy for me?" I raised my tone of voice slightly, the fierce rain drowning out the noise a little. "Your lack of interest tired me out, Armin. You can't come back into my life like this and expect me to throw myself into your arms like it was nothing."
"I know I did things wrong, but I can still show you that I changed!" He raised his voice too. My heart was racing, and his blue eyes looking at me like I was the only thing in the world made me feel like a teenager again. "I'm not the same one who made mistakes. The only thing that remains of me is the love I have for you, [y/n], it's the only thing I couldn't change."
Tears are streaming down my face, and I don´t think it comes unnoticed by him anymore. He sheepishly tries to dry them, but the water keeps running down.
"Look at me," Armin approached me and forced me to look at him with a gentle movement of his hand. He pressed his fingers a little on my chin. "I love you." And now, in his bright eyes, in his warm hands and in his smile that I never thought I would see again, I see the truth.
Without being able to get the words out of my mouth, frustrated, angry, I let myself go and as if my hands knew their way, they wrapped themselves around his neck and pulled him closer to me. Our breaths merge and his arms end up around my waist. We are so close I memorize every feature of his face, every new thing my eyes notice.
"Are you going to kiss me or keep making me wait?" He murmured, and to silence him once and for all I kissed him.
I felt safe, at peace. Like I've been waiting for this forever. His lips fit perfectly on mine as always, his grip tightens and I need to hold on to him as I feel my legs shake a little. It's passionate, fierce. It's not like the way he kissed me before, so innocent and clumsy.
The butterflies that I thought were dead begin to flutter in my stomach again, and the only thing that separates me from jim is the lack of air. But even though we break the kiss, Armin doesn't let me go, he keeps me close to him and brings our foreheads together.
"This time I'll make you stay." He sighs, and kisses me again to seal his promise.

Nervously approaches the ask box
Uh, hi there! Here's a little Showtime idea for you:
Caine, a being made of endless blocks of code, knows quite well how his kind are created. He's made quite a few himself, after all. Humans, however, are still quite a mystery to him, which makes him wonder: How exactly are humans made? He decides that the best thing to do would be to ask his girlfriend about it.
In other words, Pomni finds herself having to explain to Caine where babies come from.
(I understand if this one might be a little too weird. I just thought it'd be funny, maybe even heartwarming depending on how it goes. I love your work, btw! It never fails to put a smile on my face!)
A/N: The censor is working overtime-
WHERE DO HUMANS COME FROM?
A SHOWTIME ONESHOT
WARNING: suggestive but SFW
~~~
Pomni blinked with surprise, staring silently back at Caine after the question left his mouth. She took so long processing what he just asked, he waved his hand in front of her face.
"Yoohoo, Pomni? You didn't crash on me, did you?"
"Uh, no, um, why-....humans come from the real world. The one outside of the digital world." She shrugged.
"No, no, no, I know that already. What I'm asking is, how are humans made? You all don't come into this world as you are, do you?" Caine held his thumb and forefinger to his chin in contemplation. "This has been bugging me for a bit, and I was hoping you'd remember enough about the outside world to tell me. Anyone I've ever asked before strangely doesn't know."
Pomni could pull the same card and avoid a possibly awkward conversation, but she did know. She remembered. He seemed genuinely curious. "So, what you're asking is: where do babies come from?"
"....What's a baby?" Caine scratched his head.
"Oh no." Pomni facepalmed. "Do you know what children are?"
Caine perked up. "Yes! Children are young humans! They're part of the target demographic for The Amazing Digital Circus!"
"Okay, that's a start. Well, all of us here are adults. Grown up humans. Before that, we were children. And before that, we were babies. That is the starting stage of human life in the real world."
Caine snapped his fingers and a notepad and crayon appeared. He started writing down what Pomni was telling him. "Gotcha...and those babies come from where?" He sat back in the air, crossing his legs.
"Families." Pomni tried to stop it there. She fidgeted with her hands.
"Oh! I know what those are too! The Amazing Digital Circus is fantastic family fun!" He scribbled some more on his notepad. "These babies. Families spawn them in?"
"You could say that." Pomni chuckled nervously.
"How?" He sat upright, excited to know the workings of humans.
"Uhhhhh....." Pomni felt cartoon sweat drops falling from her head. "It's a little bit of a process. Humans don't just happen."
"What process is that?" He leaned closer, eyes wide with wonder.
"I...I don't think I can actually say the word. I think it violates your rules."
"Really? The only thing the censor blocks is anything that violates the license agreement. I.e: foul language and sexually explicit material." He shrugged.
Pomni laughed a bit too loud, sweat drops falling harder. "Yeah, about that.... You don't know what sexually explicit really means, do you?"
"A-...." He opened his mouth to answer but suddenly realized she was right. He didn't understand what sexually explicit actually meant. It was just something in his programming to block out. "...no. Much to my own embarrassment, I do not know what that actually means."
"What humans have to do to make babies is pretty explicit. Are you sure you still want to know?" Pomni really hoped he'd let it go.
Caine paused, thinking. He looked around, no one else was where they were, but he still lowered his voice as if he'd be overheard. "Yeah, I really do want to know. Go ahead and tell me."
Pomni wanted to scream. "B-but the censor-"
"Don't worry about it. I'll understand you." He smiles. "Tell me, pleeeeease?" He held his hands together, pad and crayon floating next to him.
Pomni took a deep breath. "Here we go. You need two humans to make a baby. One with a [%$!#] and another with a [%$!#]. Preferably, these two humans are in love and wish to make a baby, but unfortunately, it's not a requirement. That's another subject entirely. Anyway, these two humans have what's called [%$!#]. It's pretty much the base of your entire anti-sexually explicit censor. Interesting that I can say sexually explicit but not [%$!#]. Weird."
Caine's eyes gradually got wider as his jaw slid further down. His arms hung limply at his side. The pad and crayon floated listlessly in the air.
Pomni continued. "[%$!#] is a pleasurably intimate act that can entail many things, but to make a baby, the human with the [%$!#] has to put it inside the human with the [%$!#]. Through sexually explicit activities, the [%$!#] releases [%$!#] inside the [%$!#] where it makes a journey to the egg."
"Woah, woah, back up. This, uh... stuff that gets released, it MOVES??" He felt a weirded out tingle course through his code.
"Yeah, biology is pretty weird. [%$!#] is a fluid that contains living cells that have to travel to the egg to weed out the weak. Once the [%$!#] gets to the egg, it's a mad dash to be the first to fertilize it. Out of the millions that get released, it only takes one."
"MILLIONS!?" Caine struggled to wrap his head around what Pomni was telling him.
"Don't concern yourself with the numbers, they're very small. Once the egg is fertilized, it hardens to protect itself from any other cell trying to get in, and then has to implant itself on the [%$!#] wall to absorb nutrients and become an embryo. That's when we enter the pregnancy stage."
"Pregnancy?"
"It's the pre-baby stage. It takes nine months for an egg and a [%$!#] to become a fully formed infant human ready to enter the real world."
"It stays INSIDE for NINE months?? How big does it get?"
"Depends on the person, but a baby bump is very common. The person carrying the baby, their body literally has to make room by rearranging organs. Even for an easy pregnancy, they can be pretty long nine months. Experiencing everything from nausea to heart problems. Some people even end up bedridden."
"Gadzooks... All of that just to make another human?"
"It can be a lot but, for those who do that to themselves on purpose, say it's worth it. That baby is then cared for by their family and it grows into a child, eventually an adult. Now you know. Do you regret asking?" Pomni chuckled.
Caine shook his head. "Nope, not even a little. That was very educational. Thank you, Pomni. Can I ask you some follow-up questions?"
"Shoot."
"Do humans only do these sexually explicit activities when they want to make a baby?"
"No, sexually explicit activities can be just for fun."
"How interesting. You said two people are typically in love when they do it. Have we done sexually explicit activities?"
Pomni squeaked with surprise, her face warming. "Wha- no! Doesn't your censor tell you what's explicit?"
Caine smirked. "Maybe it does. Maybe it doesn't. Maybe I just like seeing that look on your face." He giggles mischievously.
Pomni waves her arms at him, shooing him away from her. "You little-! You didn't even know what [%$!#] was until you asked!"
"You've got me there. I am horrifically naive. That's why I'm glad I have someone like you to teach me." Caine took her hand. "I was made to learn, and I am very interested in knowing more details about this explicit activity humans in love do. I....would like to be intimate with you, Pomni."
A dark blush colored Pomni's entire face. "Do you know what you're saying?"
"Mostly. While I did start this conversation out of genuine curiosity, when you mentioned intimacy.... I know what that word means, and I could never quite gauge how intimate our relationship was. I have nothing to compare it to. To know that humans do more than we've done to express their love for one another... I'd really like to know more."
Pomni swallowed the nervous lump in her throat. "We need to go somewhere more private." She looked over her shoulder. The circus was still quiet, but anyone could walk through at any time.
Caine teleported away with her without hesitation. The notepad and crayon got left behind, both falling to the floor. Not a minute later, Jax meandered by. He saw the out of place objects out the corner of his eye and picked up the notepad. "What the..?"
It was full of crude illustrations drawn in red crayon. None of it made sense. Especially the one that looked like a handful of grapes with an arrow pointing to a triangle with legs. Before he could really make any heads or tails of it, Bubble appeared and ate the notepad out of Jax's hands.
"Watch it! You almost took my hand off."
"No peaking at the Boss's notes." Bubble grinned.
"That was Caine's? Heh, no wonder the drawings were so bad. AI can't do art worth [%$!#]."
"You saw.... I'm going to eat your eyes now."
"Wait, whaAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
~ solomon ; obey me [nightbringer]
✧˚ · . S Y N O P S I S : you prepare a special dinner to ask Solomon if he would consider a special proposition ~
‧₊˚ c o n t e n t s : gn!mc, fluff, stablished relationship
‧₊˚ a / n : Cocytus Hall fulfilled all of my Solomon dreams and you bet i’m taking full advantage of it 💃🏻 free of nightbringer spoilers btw
Tumblr media
The mouth watering smell of spices filled Cocytus Hall’s kitchen. It had been long since you had any human world dish and a craving for Italian food had taken a hold of your mind in the past few days, so you had texted Solomon the day before to make sure you had all the necessary ingredients for tonight’s dinner. Humming the song coming from your DDD you carefully took out the glass bakeware from the oven, the sound of the mansion’s door suddenly echoing through the hallways.
“MC I’m home!” your lover's voice reached your ears, a smile appeared on your lips.
“Welcome back love” you chirped when his footsteps entered the kitchen “you’re right on time, food’s ready!
“It smells wonderful in here” you turned around to see him taking off his cape and hanging it on the back of a chair “look what I brought for tonight”
Your eyes widened, spotting a fancy bottle on the counter.
“Champagne!”
“You said it was a special dinner, right? I wanted to do my part too” a handsome smile brightened his face.
“You really are the best” he walked over to you and opening up your arms to him you chuckled.
“You inspire me to be better” Solomon immediately wrapped his arms around you and hid his face in the crook of your neck, sighing.
Your heart melted in the warmth of adoration that washed over your chest, hanging your arms around his neck and reaching to play with the silverish strands of hair at the back of his neck.
“You’re very sweet tonight aren’t you? Is there any reason why?”
“Not really” his arms tightened around your hips, and next thing he lifted you up and twirled you around, prompting a squeal and laugh out of your lips “just thinking about how lucky I am to have you by my side everyday”
As soon as your feet were back in the ground you pulled away just enough to see his face, placing both of your hands on his cheeks. Nothing filled you more than knowing he felt exactly the same way you did, and that he was mentioning the very reason why you were doing this little dinner tonight. His pupils almost seemed to enlarge when his eyes finally rested on your face, his lips parted just slightly to inhale as his silver irises examined your features and then smiled fondly.
“Do you look even more beautiful tonight? Or is it just me falling in love a little bit more each passing day?”
“I think it’s just you, my love” with another giggle, you leaned in to kiss the sorcerer.
His soft lips kissed yours tenderly in a romantic passion, you felt the way he yearned for your love in the smooth sliding of his lips molding perfectly around yours and in the tightening of his fingers on your hips, making you wish you didn’t have to breathe in order to keep your mouth pushing against his. But you did, maintaining his presence as close as you could, your noses brushing as you smiled.
“Wait” his body went tense unexpectedly, his face moving to a distance where he could watch your expressions “I didn’t forget a special date, did I?”
“No, that’s not it, don’t worry about it” you placed a kiss on his forehead, finally stepping away from his arms “why don’t you pour the champagne? I’ll serve the food”
With a fond smile, the sorcerer went ahead and reached for a couple of wine glasses, while you turned around and grabbed matching porcelain plates. The kitchen was then filled with the comfortable pacing of domesticity and the swift synchrony of your hands working perfectly around each other. It wasn’t automatic, it wasn’t stiff, it was just natural. The sweet song coming from your DDD was now turned into an accompanying background melody that somehow gave a sense of romantic context, your hands carrying the food in the table, champagne filling up the glasses and the clinking of the cutlery in Solomon’s hands as he placed it down next to the plates. Soon you were both sitting down together, enjoying the rich taste of homemade meals and the fizzy sensation of the champagne in your tongues. Solomon spoke here and there about Diavolo's plans for RAD, how amusing it was to see the foundations of the academy beginning to take form during the meetings, his hands flicking around as he spoke and you watched him giggling and nodding. In exchange you told him about the day's events that kept you busy at the House of Lamentation, letting Asmo paint your nails, stopping Satan from breaking another wall, preventing Beel from accidentally eating Mammon's credit card hidden in the freezer...
Both of you laughed, lacing your hands together over the table. He took a sip of his champagne and you stared. His coral tinted lips glistening with the liquid in the glass, his long white lashes following his line of sight, the warmth of his pale fingers between yours. Your heart swelled in your chest, longing for the privilege of sharing a roof with the love of your life for the rest of your days.
“Sol...” your grasp on his hand tightened, his curious eyes driving back to yours as soon as his ears noticed the change of tone in your voice.
“Yes love?”
“There's something I wanted to talk to you about”
“I can tell” he giggled, gesturing towards the empty dinner plates and the obvious special occasion table set up.
“Sush!” you giggled with him “I'm trying to steer the conversation somewhere else!”
“Alright, sorry, go ahead” he brought your hand up to his mouth and placed a playful kiss on your knuckles, a smile appeared on your lips.
“Tonight has been lovely. And not just tonight, ever since we came to live together here in Cocytus Hall it's just been... perfect” he sighed, his eyes suddenly shining with a soft glint of adoration “I want to live like this alongside you forever, regardless of the timeline. So if we do manage to go back to our original one...” you bit your tongue momentarily, but then mentally shook your head as to also shake away your pointless nervousness “I want to come back to Cocytus Hall. With you, of course.”
Solomon blinked twice, he held his breath for a second.
“You... want us to move in together? In our original timeline?”
“Yes”
“You are aware that the brothers won't be happy about it, right?”
“I don't care”
A smile widened your white haired lover's lips as he grabbed both of your hands, this time in excitement.
“That would genuinely make me the happiest man alive”
You tried to smile back, but ended up biting your lip and trying hard not to burst in happy tears. But you didn’t hold back for too long, immediately jumping off your chair and rounding the table towards him. With a laugh, Solomon wrapped you in his arms and held you in his lap.
“I love you” your whisper made it's way between his silver hair strands, his arms tightened around you.
“I love you too” his lips searched for yours, accompanied by a loving sigh.
the pjo tv show is making me have thoughts about hephaestus & apollo’s dynamic, as well as apollo & ares dynamic — so i was wondering if you had any hcs for either duo or both !!
GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE
I do for sure have some Thoughts on Apollo & Ares so I shall start there.
Apollo & Ares
Favorite Son and Least Favorite Son.
After Apollo was born, we all know he went on a mission to avenge his mom. That included killing Python, but I also headcanon this preteen storming up to Ares and demanding a fight for his mom's honor.
This was brought on because in the mythos, Ares actually chased Leto around and drove her from place to place, never letting her rest for long.
Obviously, Apollo isn't too keen on this and demands a duel.
Ares takes one look at this kid and goes you know what? I like his spunk. I'm keeping him. and lo and behold Apollo gets distracted by Ares showing him how to properly grip a sword's blade.
Also fun fact! In Ancient Greece, fathers raised their sons and mothers the daughters. Fathers would teach their sons how to swim and write, so this gets interesting once you put ToA's context with it.
In all honesty, I don't think Zeus was too involved in Apollo's growth. He was still there, of course! Enough to have a hold on him and. well. manipulate/gaslight him/abuse him.
However heartbreaking it would be to think about Zeus teaching Apollo these things (my heart. my poor sobbing heart.), I would also find it heartwarming if Ares did that instead.
Or Poseidon. But I personally think he taught Apollo how to ride horses. Let Ares have his thing :3
Because wouldn't it make sense that if Zeus couldn't find the time teach Apollo, then that responsibility would fall to the eldest son?
Jump to the giant twins now.
Apollo helps Ares recover. That is all.
THEY WERE ON THE SAME SIDE IN THE TROJAN WAR !!!!!!
Okay so. Diomedes tried to stab Apollo a few times when he was rescuing Aeneus, and Apollo CANONICALLY tells Ares about it - and lo and behold, Ares gets into a fight with Diomedes (and gets shish-kabobbed).
SO I CONCLUDE-
Apollo: Diomedes tried to stab me :(
Ares: WHAT.
Apollo: Yeah three times.
Ares: WHY.
Apollo: Aphrodite's kid? Aeneus? I was saving his ass after Diomedes stabbed Aphrodite.
Ares: THAT BITCH.
Apollo: But don't worry I took care of it-
Ares, picking up his spear and sword: HE SHALL TREMBLE BEFORE MY FURY. NOT EVEN HIS ARMOR WILL MARK HIS GRAVE WHEN I FINISH WITH HIM. HE SHALL CHOKE ON THE BLOOD HE HAS SPILT AND I SHALL LAUGH AS HIS CORPSE DECAYS. HE WILL RUE THE DAY HE HARMED EITHER OF YOU-
Apollo: he didn't touch me tho-
Ares: BUT HE TRIED!
Ares, snapping his cape: I shall take my leave. Got a bastard to stab. rides down and fights beside Hector. gets stabbed by Diomedes.
Ares, clutching his stomach: ...this didn't go as planned.
Apollo, patching it up after Zeus yelled at Ares: you don't say?
anyway. Apollo & Ares would also watch battlefields and Ares would basically be like "right. this is how to properly disembowel your enemies!" gruesomely decapitates some poor mortal. "See? Easy!"
also they would sing!!! war hymns and other things. Ares can dance too btw :3
also when Aphrodite and Apollo were polyculing with Adonis, Ares was doublely jealous because Adonis is 1) taking the attention of his girlfriend and 2) banging his favorite brother
Ares also cautioned Apollo about drawing too much attention to himself, especially Zeus's.
Too bad Apollo didn't quite take it to heart...
I think Ares already knows Apollo is being abused by Zeus. He knows the signs. He knows what's happening...because it happened to him first.
He would drop hints. Which...weren't very subtle, and kinda freaked Apollo out a bit because ohmygodsdoesheknow-?
And when Revolution time came around? You bet Ares sensed it coming from a mile away.
And perhaps he did...hmm...like with the master bolt theft...ooo gonna have to marinate that for a bit. see what i can cook up there. or if any of you have theories shoot them at me!
back to the thing. Once Ares catches wind It's A Go...he's gonna be on Apollo's side. Because godsdammit he's sick of Zeus and his horrible parenting a good war would give him a clean slate.
...Even if he has to put up with both Hera and Athena.
Apollo & Hephaestus
okay so. I haven't thought much about them because they are elusive for me BUT-
The show gave me a THOUGHT!
"Some of us don't like being that way either."
HEPHAESTUS DOESN'T LIKE THE SYSTEM. HE DOESN'T! HE HATES GOING ALONG WITH IT!
MY FIRST THOUGHT WHEN I HEARD THOSE WORDS?
APOLLO
he doesn't want to be part of it either. but he buried it inside himself. but post toa...he doesn't want to do that anymore.
and I think Apollo does like Hephaestus! I remember there was a moment where Apollo mentions being in his study or something and missing the entire 40s or whatever staring at Hephaestus's Newton's Cradle.
why was apollo in there. and did hephaestus let him in there?
BECAUSE HEPHAESTUS IS A PRIVATE GUY RIGHT? WHAT'S APOLLO DOING IN A PRIVATE ROOM OF HIS?
...unless he invited him in :D
I need to do a lil' more digging on Hephaestus and Apollo but I hope this was all interesting :3
feel free to add on readers!
The first time you met him was at your mother’s funeral.
Everyone was amongst themselves, chatting and dwelling on the memory of Laena Velaryon. Your sisters pouting and wallowing in their sadness while sitting upon a bench. Yourself, however, decided it would be better to stick by your father whom was near Viserys Targaryen; looming like a vulture seeking dinner.
You were always told, “You’re just like your father.” or “I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” All in regards to your attitude and how well you swing your sword. You mirrored Daemon’s skills as if you were his long lost twin, and that worried plenty of people, especially Alicent Hightower.
“I’m old enough to notice your gazes towards Rhaenyra, Father.”
The man let his eyes leave Rhaenyra’s figure and settle on yours, your arms folded under your cloak. It was disappointing body language yet your face was upturned with amusement.
“Old enough? You’re just two years older than your sisters, my oldest.”
“I may be good at fighting, Father. But, I also have brains.”
He chuckles and turns to look at Viserys who was also looking at him.
The winds, however, pulled your gaze to a silver-haired boy looking at you from across the way, in a similar way that Rhaenyra was looking at your father. With admiration, a sense of longing, and yet you only knew the boy's name and nothing more.
Aemond Targaryen.
His eyes were scanning your figure, almost curious of who you are. What your origins were, but your train of thought was immediately interrupted.
“Your girls are the very image of their mother.” You turn to look at your uncle, the King, “A comfort and an anguish, as I well remember. The gods can be cruel.”
A firm pause, before your father answered, “It seems they’ve been especially cruel to you.”
The King finds the comment humorous, when normally it would be taken as an insult.
“Yes…” The tension was palpable between the two, so you speak.
“It’s wonderful to see you, Uncle.” You bow your head a bit and the man cracks a sincere smile.
“Y/N! My fierce little Niece, It’s great to see you also, even if under such dire circumstances.”
“Agreed, Uncle.” His eyes find Daemon’s again, “You should return with us to King’s Landing. It’s time that you came home.”
“Pentos is my home…and that of my children.”
“Daemon… I know we’ve had our differences, but let them pass with the years. There’s a place for you in my court if that’s something you should need.”
“I need…” His mouth moves to say ‘Rhaenyra’, but he stops himself, “nothing.” The silence hits once again but before Viserys could say anything else, your father walks away quickly.
“Brother…”
You place a comforting hand on your Uncle’s shoulder before walking away also towards the stairs to head toward the beach. The sky was a pleasant shade of gray, mirroring upon the shiny sea water that called to your very soul. The Velaryon blood coursed through your veins, drawing you towards the sea but the fire was just as mesmerizing.
The sand finally touched your boots, sounding a gentle crushing noise. The waves waning against the rocks, sea foam catching on the grains of sand. It was all too peaceful for such a saddening day, but somehow you knew that the sea took your mother with open arms to become a part of it once again.
“You remind me of sapphires.”
The voice pulled you from your concentration, eventually connecting a face to the voice. Aemond Targaryen stood with his cloak flowing in the high winds, hair also meticulously moving in tandem.
“Sapphires? Such flattery should only come between those who know each other deeply.”
“Well, I’d like to get to know you better, cousin.”
You tilt your head, “Ah cousin, should’ve known we were related based on the hair color.” Your hand finds the pin holding your locks upward and slide it out, letting the silver cascade down your shoulders and flow to the side. Aemond’s eyes watched your hair with great interest, rousing a laugh from the bottom of your stomach.
“Are you always this curious and interested in hair?”
He stifles a cough, “Erm– yes?”
“You liar–”
You quickly move past him, gently shoving him with a laugh that sounded like pure heaven to the boy's ears. You seemed to be in a playful mood, so the boy chased after you, laugh intertwining with yours. And what a true joy it was to meet someone in the family that didn’t completely anger you.
-
Hours later, after departing from Aemond, you were safe and warm within the covers of the bed you truly loved. Your sisters were asleep, subtly snoring until they were awoken by a familiar roar. Vhagar, Mother’s dragon who wasn’t supposed to even be flying or out this late at night. It worried the two twins, so they did only what they were taught in an odd situation, they woke their older sister.
“Y/N…Y/N… Y/N– wake up…!”
Your shoulders were being shook until numbness, but you eventually let your eyes fall open and settled on Baela.
“Mm…? What is it, sister?”
“Someone stole Vhagar.”
That sets the alarm bells in your mind off, “What?!”
Quickly, you put your dress and boots on and settled the dagger your father had made for you under your gown. Telling Baela and Rhaena to wake Jacaerys and Lucerys and meet you where Vhagar was going to land. And eventually, you all met up to investigate what was going on. Though, you held your sisters back behind you so you could go first in case of an attack. The distant crash of Vhagar landing made you jump, but alas you waited to see who was riding the Dragon that was to remain unclaimed.
“Jace, what are we doing?”
Yourself and the group of children all quieted down at the sight of Aemond.
“It’s him.”
“It’s me.”
“Vhagar is my mother’s dragon.”
“Your mother’s dead. And Vhagar has a new rider now.” Venom was seething through his mouth, and you winced at his way with words, harsh and unruly.
“She was mine to claim.”
“Then you should’ve claimed her! Maybe your cousins can find you a pig to ride. It would suit you.”
Rhaena slipped from behind you in rage, going to grapple and fight Aemond but was quickly thrown to the side and to the ground. Baela couldn’t stand to see her sister hurt, so the girl took her turn, throwing a punch and landing it, but ultimately getting the same force of a punch back, knocking her down.
“Come at me again and I’ll feed you to my dragon!”
You leapt to check on Rhaena to see if the boy had hurt her, while Jacaerys began to throw punches himself. With a gentle caress, you wiped the blood from your sister’s nose, feeling Jacaerys fall to the ground and the shrill shriek of Lucerys. It was chaos, but in spite of Aemond’s meticulous strength, you helped Rhaena up and she went immediately to beating Aemond up with Baela and Jacaerys.
Blood was all over the boy’s face, while you took the liberty of staying out of the conflict and helping Lucerys up from the dirty ground.
It didn’t last though, Jacaerys was kicked aside, the girls thrown, but Lucerys lunged anyways; getting put into a chokehold. Everyone tensed up as Aemond grabbed a stone from the ground and held it up, your heart dropping to your stomach. Was he going to kill your cousin in cold blood?
“You will die screaming in flames just as your father did! Bastards.”
“My father’s still alive.” Lucerys wailed out with a bloodied face and salty tears, “He doesn’t know, does he, Lord Strong?”
Aemond’s tone became condescending, and within that rage, Jacaerys grabbed the dagger that laid upon your thigh while you were ultimately distracted.
“Jace!”
You grabbed your sisters and held them back with eyes of fear, watching as Aemond threw Lucerys to fall to the ground, but Jacaerys caught him and threw him softer to land. The boy swung the dagger you once had, missing and getting struck by the stone Aemond wielded. The dagger landed near Lucerys, who grew strength in the moment he had of being defeated. And as Aemond had his arm held up with the stone, ready to strike Jacaerys down, he looked to you and your sisters; and you shook your head in disbelief.
What happened to the kind boy you had met on the beach?
Sand and then the slash and scream that accompanied it.
Aemond cried into the sandy, night air, clutching his face in great pain. Blood pooled and spilled from his left eye, slipping through his fingers like wine being poured from a bottle. You felt a twinge of guilt for not breaking up the fight, but you knew you’d done right by keeping close to your sisters. Because they were most important to you, even if the boy who was now seething in pain was kind to you once.
-
“How could you allow such a thing to happen?”
The king was chastising the knight in front of him, and you let your eyes come to Aemond sat upon a chair, having his eye cleaned by a Maester. Alicent Hightower, the queen, sat next to the boy with a vastly worried expression. A mother’s worry for her son, her boy.
“Who had the watch?”
“Young prince was attacked by his own cousins, Your Grace.”
You held your sisters in a huddled hug, their blood coated on your fingers as you had tried to wipe their faces clean. Though, it had just ended with red smudges on their skin and crimson tips for your fingers.
“You swore oaths to protect and defend my blood!”
“I’m very sorry, Your Grace. The Kingsguard has never had to defend princes from princes, Your Grace–”
“That is no answer!”
Alicent’s voice chimed in, “It will heal, will it not, maester?” She sounded desperate.
“The flesh will heal. But the eye is lost, Your Grace.”
Alicent and Viserys seemingly reeled at the news of their son’s eye now being lost, and you felt bile rising in your throat.
“Where were you?” Alicent began to antagonize her son, “Me?”
The answer wasn’t satisfactory, so the woman slapped him and he quivered in fear at the anger on her face.
“Ow! What was that for?”
“That was nothing compared to the abuse your brother suffered while you were drowning in your cups, you fool.” The Hightower woman was seething in anger, a sight that was rare and never welcomed. But before anyone else could possibly speak or do anything, doors opened and Corlys and Rhaenys rushed down the stairs.
“What is the meaning of this?”
“Y/N, Baela, Rhaena! What happened? What happened?” The older woman immediately embraced your sisters, pulling you into the hug roughly but with care. Corlys went front and center while Rhaenys was comforting your sisters and rubbing your shoulder in hopes of easing you. The grand doors opened with a creak and Rhaenyra Targaryen came waltzing in with a face stricken with intense, motherly worry, but what was odd was your father was trailing behind her; making eye contact with you before leaning against the doorway to watch the commotion.
“Jace? Luke!” She rushed to kneel in front of them, trying to assess the damage of Lucerys’s nose.
“Show me. Show me.”
His small hand moved from his nose, and a fresh gush of blood fell.
“Who did this?”
“They attacked me!”
“He attacked Baela!”
“He broke Luke’s nose!”
The children continued to shout and make their own arguments and claims of what had happened, “He stole my mother’s dragon!”
“Enough.”
“He was gonna kill Jace! I didn’t do anything!”
“Enough–”
“It should be my son telling the tale!” Alicent now joined the children in their chorus of cries and shouts, until–
“Silence!”
Instantaneous silence at the King’s yell, Jace leaned down to his mother’s ear to whisper something that made her face go pale as she rose. Must’ve been the phrase that started the physical altercation, ‘Bastard’.
“Aemond…” The King made his way down the small bit of stairs ever so slowly, “I will have the truth of what happened. Now.”
“What else is there to hear? Your son has been maimed. Her son is responsible.” Alicent chimed in, “It was a regrettable accident.” Rhaenyra argued.
“Accident? The Prince Lucerys brought a blade to the ambush. He meant to kill my son.”
“We had no idea it was your son whom was riding, Vhagar!”
Alicent’s gaze turned to you now, “Past conflicts have arisen between them and yet you had no idea it was Aemond?”
“No– and it was I who brought the blade, for protecting my sisters and cousins in case of danger.”
Alicent’s eyes rolled, “And you claim to be oh so high and mighty now, protecting family–”
“It was my sons who were attacked and forced to defend themselves. Vile insults were levied against them.” Rhaenyra interrupted the Queen from continuing.
Viserys’ perked up, “What insults?”
“The legitimacy of my sons’ birth was put loudly to question.”
“What?”
“He called us bastards.”
The room went silent, even a drop of wine could sound across the room.
“My sons are in line to inherit the Iron Throne, Your Grace. This is the highest of treasons. Prince Aemond must be sharply questioned so we might learn where he heard such slanders.”
The boy peeked from the rather large chair he was sat upon, looking you directly in the eye as Rhaenyra spoke, sending a chill up your spine at the view of his now lost eye, bloody and bruised.
“Over an insult? My son has lost an eye.” Alicent’s hand roughly gestured to Aemond.
“You tell me, boy. Where did you hear this lie?”
“The insult was training yard bluster.” Alicent interrupted, “The lot of boys. It was nothing.”
“Aemond… I asked you a question.” A pause, before Alicent spoke once again, “Where is Ser Laenor, I wonder? The boys’ father? Perhaps he might have some say in the matter?”
“Yes. Where is Ser Laenor?”
“I do not know, Your Grace. I… could not find sleep. I had gone out to walk.” Your father was glancing at Rhaenyra with eyes you knew well, and your stomach felt like it was weighed down by stones. He was getting involved with his niece, on the day of your mother’s funeral.
“Entertaining his young squires, I would venture.”
No one laughed, not a single breath except for the hateful looks both Rhaenys and Corlys sent Alicent. Viserys was neglectful of the looks and continued his earlier conversation with his injured son.
“Aemond… look at me. Your king demands an answer. Who spoke these lies to you?”
Pregnant silence, before he spoke, “It was Aegon.”
“Me?” The other boy looked terrified, “And you, boy? Where did you hear such calumnies? Aegon! Tell me the truth of it!”
“We know, Father…” The room suddenly feels hotter, “Everyone knows. Just look at them.”
Most of everyone in the room peers at Rhaenyra and her sons, her hand laid on her youngest head, tears welling up in her beautiful eyes. Alicent visibly looked saddened, but you knew deep down she most likely felt satisfied about his answer, but the complete opposite could be said for Viserys.
“This interminable infighting must cease! All of you! We are family! Now, make your apologises and show good will to one another. Your father, your grandsire, your king demands it!”
The obviously sick and decrepit man, our king, began to walk away, his cane clicking against the ground abrupt against the awkward silence. Alicent looked appalled at her husband's words, tears in her eyes mirroring Rhaenyra.
“That is insufficient.” He turns around, “Aemond has been damaged permanently, My King. “Good will” cannot make him whole.”
“I know, Alicent, but I cannot restore his eye.”
“No, because it’s been taken.”
“What would you have me do?”
“There is a debt to be paid. I shall have one of her son’s eyes in return. And if not her son’s, then the one who brought the blade in the first place.”
The room began to murmur, your eyes widening at her proposition. Rhaenys’s grip around you became tighter in her own worry.
“My dear wife…–”
“He is your son, Viserys. Your blood.”
“Do not… allow your temper to guide your judgment.” He shares brief eye contact with your father.
“If the King will not seek justice, the Queen will. Ser Criston… bring me the eye of Lucerys Velaryon or Y/N Velaryon.”
“Mother!” The small boy shouts, and you turn to look at your father who looks more antsy than before, worried.
“Alicent…”
“The one you choose can choose which eye to keep, a privilege neither of them granted my son.”
“You will do no such thing.” Rhaenyra defended, beginning to look just as worried as your father; if not worse.
“Stay your hand.”
“No, you are sworn to me!” She yells to Ser Criston, “As your protector, My Queen.”
A sense of relief washed over you, Alicent looking more and more disappointed by the second.
“Alicent, this matter… is finished. Do you understand?” The king and queen share eye contact for a moment, before the king turns to leave the whole situation all together, but he must leave a brief message.
“And let it be known: anyone whose tongue dares to question the birth of Princess Rhaenyra’s sons should have it removed.”
“Thank you, Father.”
Rhaenyra leans down to console her sons once again, yourself choosing to kiss the tops of your sisters’ heads, until chaos strikes. Alicent moved steady towards Rhaenyra with the blade Viserys usually carried at his side, looking like a woman on a mission, and various people began to shout which alerted her to the oncoming attack; catching Alicent’s arms in a grapple. Luke screamed in fear and you instantly huddled towards Baela and Rhaena to protect them, not noticing your father trying to get to you but being interrupted by Ser Criston.
“You’ve gone too far.”
“I? What have I done but what was expected of me? Forever upholding the kingdom , the family, the law. While you flout all to do as you please. Where is duty? Where is sacrifice? It’s trampled under your pretty foot again.”
“Release the blade, Alicent.” Her father spoke, but she did not listen.
“And now you take my son’s eye, and to even that, you feel entitled.”
“Exhausting, wasn’t it? Hiding beneath the cloak of your own righteousness. But now they see you as you really are.” And with a push away, the blade penetrates Rhaenyra’s skin, conjuring up blood at her wrist that slips down, down, until the crimson liquid hits the marbled floor. Her face was open in shock at what had just happened, even Alicent looking shell-shocked at what she did. The blade in her hand tumbling down and hitting the floor to mirror the bloodshed.
But, now Aemond was up from his seat, eyes turning to him instead of the commotion.
“Do not mourn me, Mother.” She looks at him, “It was a fair exchange. I may have lost an eye… but I gained a dragon. And Y/N was not at fault at all–”
You both look to each other, “She didn’t even try and hurt me, she stayed out of it, so bid her mercy…”
You let the corners of your mouth slide up in a thankful smile, and he only replies with a nod.
“This proceeding is at an end.”
Ser Criston releases your father, and he makes haste in reuniting with you and your siblings and Rhaenyra, looking at Alicent with the same gaze as the rest of your family, stern, dark, and direct.
-
Ten years have passed since that fateful night.
Baela had traveled to Driftmark to be a Ward for Rhaenys and Corlys, Rhaena deciding to stay with you to keep you company against the hoard of boys. Lucerys and Jacerys were handfuls in of themselves, despite their older age. But now you had little Joffrey and his two brothers to mess about and yell into the halls of Dragonstone.
Your father and Rhaenyra had wed the morning after the night of bloodshed, happy and content within joining their two families, and Rhaenyra was now pregnant with yet another child after two younger boys with Daemon. You’d hope that they would be a girl.
Though, the peacefulness that was your home was breached by a letter sent by Baela, giving information about Corly’s brother challenging Lucerys’s legitimacy to the Driftmark throne. He was going to present it to the king in hopes of staking claim over Luke, which made Rhaenyra instantly angered by the audacity. And, that is when your parents decided that it would be best to travel back to the kingdom to make their own claim against Vaemond.
A ship ride and a carriage ride, and you were now arriving at the castle that held the man that weighed on your thoughts for a decade.
Aemond.
The boy saved you from losing an eye by claiming your innocence.
How would he look after ten years? Handsome? Stubborn like his mother? The question hung in your head until the carriage stopped and Rhaenyra sent you a small smile to tell you it was time to exit.
“All hail Rhaenyra of House Targaryen, Princess of Dragonstone and heir to the Iron Throne and her royal consort, Prince Daemon Targaryen.”
The bells tolled, and the cold air drifted into the now open carriage as Rhaenyra exited promptly and with a regalness that only royalty could muster. Your father exited just after her without a care of how he looked, but you waited and helped Rhaena out of the carriage before letting Jacerys and Lucerys go and then yourself.
Your whole family was adorned in black and red colors, contrasting the green banners that were in the yard you stood in. Rhaena’s rather cold hand grasped yours, and you let your thumb absentmindedly rub against the frozen skin. She felt anxiety, it was only normal considering where you all stood.
Lord Caswell suddenly came from the entry doors with careful consideration, before coming to stand in front of Rhaenyra and bowing his head. His wrinkled hands found her soft ones, eyes speaking with care.
“Welcome back, Princess.”
“Lord Caswell.”
The man kindly escorted you all into the castle, and the decor change seemed to alarm both of your parents. The green, the religious symbols, it was all so daunting for two people who were raised here. Alas, you had to separate from them as they had duties to attend to, so you followed your brothers to the training yard, their black cloaks dragging behind them like crows feathers.
Two knights were sparring, catching the eyes of the boys, however you were focused on the blades sat against wood planks to be picked up.
They were awfully shiny and caught your eye, the indistinct chatter all around you becoming void.
“See? I told you this would still be here. And you thought you could swing Criston’s morningstar. And you almost took your own head off.”
Lucerys grumbled beside you, looking at the weapons also as Jacerys rustled the boys’ hair, yet he was focused on the various people staring at you three with curious eyes. Jacerys noticed immediately, “What’s your problem?”
You picked up a shiny blade, twirling it in your grasp, “Everyone’s staring at us–”
“Hyah!” Jacerys tried to play, even smiling a bit but it was shut down by Lucerys’s sour attitude.
“No one would question me being heir to Driftmark… if… if I looked more like Ser Laenor Velaryon than Ser Harwin Strong–”
You quickly dropped the sword and placed a hand on your brother’s shoulder, gathering his attention, “It doesn’t matter what they think.”
It seemed to ease him, before a crowd had gathered and cheering began, grunts from the middle of the crowd. Jacerys dragged you two immediately to whatever was going on, and the view shocked you.
A white-haired man brandished a shield and sword, moving swiftly towards the Dornish looking knight, taking a hit to his shield and causing the crowd to react with “ooo”’s and “ahh”’s. But the white-haired mystery was smart, he threw the shield to the side and began relentless swipes towards the knight, but he dodged anyways, now revealing the face of the man.
Aemond–
This alarmed Lucerys, but you couldn’t keep your eyes off of him. He moved meticulously, like a spider on a wall, fast and deadly. His moves were awe-inspiring, and every jab of his sword made your heartbeat faster and faster; until the pointy end was at the knight’s neck and the crowd applauded.
“Well done, my Prince. You’ll be winning tourneys in no time.”
“I don’t give a shit about tourneys. Nephews, Niece… have you come to train?”
His one eye was wide and awake, an unnerving chill being sent up your spine just by his glance. But before any of you three could reply, a guard shouted.
“Open the gate!”
There was a large creak before your relative, Vaemond, waltzed through with his battalion, making a huge deal out of his arrival. Until you feel a hand grasp yours and pull you back and away from the crowd. The hand was warm and inviting, callouses from sword handling prominent but the veins in the arms were so very noticeable.
He was pulling you fast towards the library, not even giving you a second to rest before the library doors shut and his gaze was on you once again. His singular eye wandered your entire figure, starting from your face, down to your neck, your chest, your waist, legs, and then back up. He hummed a content, “hmmm”, before speaking.
“My– how you’ve grown, Niece…”
“Could say the same to you, Aemond.”
He circled you now, like a shark circling blood in the ocean, but your desire was probably ten times that. You missed him even after only knowing each other for a day, and it scared you; how much you wanted to kiss him, bite his neck, or nibble on his ear. The possibility of hearing the low, guttural noises of pleasure from him was surfacing in your mind.
You hoped whatever god or gods there were that he couldn’t read your mind right now.
The eyepatch slung on his head looked to be made of fine leather, of course made by someone of exceptional skill and yet, the man most likely saw himself as a cripple due to the loss of his eye. His hair was long and flowed down his back almost like a ravenous river, uncontrollable and wild. What brought out a slice of curiosity from you though was the blue glimmer from under the eyepatch he adorned, did he really stick a gem into his eye socket?
“You still remind me of sapphires.”
“Such flattery should only come between those who know each other deeply, Aemond–”
He smirks, lips upturning, as if remembering the very same day you both had met and spoke. Of course, it was hard to forget you, and the way you didn’t join your siblings in crippling him. You were merciful to him, yet, you were known to have the same anger and rage boiling in you as your father, Daemon. And after these ten years that had passed, there was never a quiet moment where he wasn’t pondering about you, your whereabouts, or how you might have aged and come into your own body.
And you sure had matured in all the right places.
“What did you hope to achieve by pulling me into the library?”
Were you hoping to get a rise out of him? Because the palpable tension of ten years was straining like a rope at its breaking point. About to snap.
“Privacy, mostly, Niece.”
He stood firmly in front of you, now closer than he previously was but just far enough to where you could feel the lingering touch of his hand. His fingers were long, slender, and strong; built for sword fighting and taking down armies of men. He was stronger than he looked. His hand trailed up your arm, settling just under your ear within the crease, cradling your cheek longingly. His gaze mirrored that of when he first saw you, adoring and curious. How is it that such a violent man could stoop into a passive state around a woman he cares for, admires and cherishes.
“You’ve gone soft, Aemond. Where is that daring sword fighter I just saw outside?”
“Even a man as violent as direwolves would falter under the eyes of the woman he loves.”
“And you love me?”
“Of course, I do… ever since we were kids. Ever since the day I lost my eye. I gained a dragon and a person worth fighting for.”
His thumb stroked the skin of your cheek, “Do you feel the same, Sapphire…?”
Before he could even utter another word, your lips were on his.
-
You didn’t see Aemond the rest of the day after the shared kiss.
He had duties to attend to and Daemon had called upon you for your sword training, which he always let you handle Dark Sister since you would be the one to inherit the blade. A powerful symbol and an even swifter blade then the dagger you’d been carrying since you were a kid.
The same dagger that took out Aemond’s eye.
The guilt of even taking the blade in the first place to the cavern was still apparent in your older age, but even your sisters liked to assure you that it was the right call.
You were their protector. Their older sister and through marital laws, could be the heir to the Iron throne if Rhaenyra deemed it so.
The oldest of all your siblings, you were also the fiercest, yet the most gentle.
‘The Realms Essence’, you’d heard in villages.
‘She embodies love and hate, the wind and the flame.’
Yet, you were always drawn to the sea and the color of sapphire blue.
-
The next day was the day of defending Lucerys’s claim to the throne of Driftmark, his birthright and exactly what Corlys’ would have wanted.
Rhaenyra awoke you in the morning, carrying a red and black dress with a blue dragon sutured up the back. It was the color of your dragon, Bessoarth, The Nocturnal. The glimmering yellow of the eyes of the dragon drew you in as your mother helped you put on the dress, smoothing out any creases and beginning to braid your hair in a Dragon riders’ style.
She had said she used to wear her hair the exact same way when she was younger, and a swell of pride bundled up in your heart.
You missed your true mother, Laena, but the attention and love from Rhaenyra brought new light to your inner child.
Eventually, you and your whole family were gathered in the sacred room that held the Iron Throne. The crowds chattering about whatever came to mind but all was put silent as Otto Hightower began to speak and start the meeting.
“Though it is the great hope of this court that Lord Corlys Velaryon survive his wounds, we gather here with the grim task of dealing with the succession of Driftmark. As Hand, I speak with the King’s voice on this and all other matters.” He takes a seat on the throne.
“The crown will now hear the petitions. Ser Vaemond of House Velaryon.”
Your relative walks up to speak his truth, while you immediately tried to find Aemond’s gaze, once locking, a smile arose on his lips that didn’t go unnoticed by a certain someone.
“My Queen.  My Lord Hand.”
Alicent looks at Vaemond, “The history of our noble houses extends beyond the Seven Kingdoms to the days of Old Valyria. For as long as House Targaryen has ruled the skies, House Velaryon has ruled the seas. When the doom fell on Valyria, our houses became the last of their kind. Our forebearers came to this new land, knowing that were they to fail, it would mean the end to their bloodlines and their name. I have spent my entire life on Driftmark defending my brother’s seat. I am Lord Corlys’s closest kin, his own blood. The true, unimpeachable blood of House Velaryon runs through my veins.”
“As it does in my sons, the offspring of Laenor Velaryon–. If you cared so much about your house’s blood, Ser Vaemond, you would not be so bold as to supplant its rightful heir. No, you only speak for yourself and for your own ambition.”
Rhaenyra was right in her correct interruption of Vaemond, yet Alicent Hightower interrupted her immediately.
“You will have chance to make your own petition, Princess Rhaenyra. Do Ser Vaemond the courtesy of allowing his to be heard.”
The tensions between the two formal friends was sharp and unyielding, but to make matters worse, Ser Vaemond came with a rebuttal to Rhaenyra.
“What do you know of Velaryon blood, Princess? I could cut my veins and show it to you and you still wouldn’t recognize it.” Rhaenyra nods to herself, “This is about the future and survival of my house, not yours.” The man lets his eyes land on Lucerys, which you firmly reply with shoving the boy slightly behind you, looking Vaemond in the eyes with haste. How dare he look at him with such satisfied eyes, who did he think he was?
“My Queen, My Lord Hand.” He was an ass kisser, that much was obvious. “This is a matter of blood, not ambition. I place the continuation of the survival of my house and my line above all. I humbly put myself before you as my brother’s successor… the Lord of Driftmark and Lord of the Tides.”
“Thank you, Ser Vaemond.”
He sent one last glance at your family before taking his place once again.
“Princess Rhaenyra, you may now speak for your son, Lucerys Velaryon.”
She took firm steps to the front, holding her wrist with a certain amount of anxiety that was only a bit noticeable. But even in her worries, she gave off a sense of knowing it would all be okay somehow.
“If I am to grace this farce with some answer, I will start by reminding the court that nearly twenty years ago, in this very–”
A noticeable creak sounded throughout the hall, taking everyone's gaze to the grand doors behind. The almost toppled over body of your Uncle came firmly to enter the meeting, a golden mask clad on the right side of his face. His white hair was sparse and thin, just about all of it gone and yet his head still held the crown with delight. His cane clicked on the cobblestone ground, and you couldn’t help but notice the small smile on Rhaenyra’s face.
Her father was here to save the day.
“King Viserys of House Targaryen, the First of His Name, King of the Andals, and the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, and Protector of the Realm.”
The room bowed their heads to the King who would die being known for the kindness of his heart, and the love he held for his family. A truly noble man.
He moved slowly and with a limp, but kept his gaze on his only child, knowing what he had to do, and he would not fail.
“I will sit the throne today.”
“Your Grace…”
The determination your Uncle exhibited was noteworthy and brought a great comfort to you, knowing the bloodline you stem from ties into a man so oddly heroic, even in his last days.
Through his difficulty to climb up to his lofty seat, the crown on his head fell with a thud which prompted yourself and your father to try and aid him.
Daemon held Viserys and helped him to the throne and you had the honor of placing the crown back onto his head. Even after bickering and arguments, the brothers knew they would always have each other, even if one were to pass. And you gave your Uncle an adoring gaze and a loving smile, before joining your family once again.
“I must… admit… my confusion. I do not understand why petitions are being heard over a settled succession. The only one present… who might offer keener insight into Lord Corlys’s wishes is the Princess Rhaenys.”
“Indeed, Your Grace.”
The whole room peered keenly at the older woman, herself stepping forward with her black grown dragging against the ground behind her.
“It was ever my husband’s will that Driftmark pass through Ser Laenor to his trueborn son… Lucerys Velaryon.” Rhaenyra perked up, “His mind never changed. Nor did my support of him. As a matter of fact, the Princess Rhaenyra has just informed me of her desire to marry her sons Jace and Luke to Lord Corlys’s granddaughters, Baela and Rhaena. A proposal to which I heartily agree.”
Baela looked to be smiling a bit, Alicent shaking her head to herself as if in disapproval.
“Well…” Viserys began, “The matter is settled. Again. I hereby reaffirm Prince Lucery Vvelaryon of House Velaryon as heir to Driftmark, the Driftwood Throne, and the next Lord of the Tides.”
He wheezed after his proclamation, Rhaenys rejoining Baela and Vaemond, staring daggers into Rhaenyra, making a ‘tch’ sound.
“You break law… and centuries of tradition to install your daughter as heir.” He steps up to speak once again, “Yet you dare tell me… who deserves to inherit the name Velaryon. No. I will not allow it.”
“”Allow it”? Do not forget yourself, Vaemond.”
The man turns and points at Lucerys, face drawn up in a flame like anger, “That is no true Velaryon, and certainly no nephew of mine.”
You draw Lucerys back behind you, Rhaenyra turning and looking him in the eyes.
“Go to your chambers. You have said enough.” She looks to Vaemond with pleading eyes, not wanting to argue over something so realistically small. However, Viserys decides to chime in again.
“Lucerys is my true-born grandson. And you… are no more than the second son of Driftmark.”
“You… may run your house as you see fit… but you will not decide the future of mine. My house survived the Doom and a thousand tribulations besides.” His venom laced eyes turned to our family once again, “And gods be damned… I will not see it ended on the account of this–” He pauses.
Daemon seeks the words Vaemond wishes to utter and says, “Say it.”
The whole room seemingly freezes, the air thin, but Vaemond couldn’t restrict his tongue.
“Her children… ARE BASTARDS. And she… is… a whore.”
The crowd stirs with gasps and while Viserys tries to rise, you put a comforting hand on Rhaenyra's shoulder.
“I…” The king pulls his dagger from under his cloak, “will have your tongue for that.”
But before anything could even happen, the sound of a sword being swung erupted and Vaemond Velaryon’s top half of his head fell to the ground, soon following his body. Everyone gasped and Alicent pulled Haelena into a hug, knowing the view troubled her. Rhaenyra was shocked but even you knew your father would not let those words go without punishment.
“He can keep his tongue.”
“DISARM HIM!”
“No need.” Daemon quickly cleaned his blade with his cloak and sheathed it, Aemond now meeting your wandering eyes with one thing on his mind.
You certainly inherited your father’s flare.
The King fell back into the throne, Alicent calling for the maesters and Rhaenyra rushing to his side to check on him. The dagger sheathed at your side seemed to burn and itch every second, yet that didn’t even disturb you. Aemond’s almost excited gaze towards Daemon is what truly did you in.
-
With the day just about gone, it was time for dinner.
The whole family, including Alicent’s children, were all to attend. You dreaded the ordeal simply by the fact that you knew trouble would most definitely stir up. It was bound to happen with the tensions rising between Rhaenyra and Alicent, not to mention Aemond’s anger towards Jace and Luke. The only person who seemed to not even care about what was going on was Haelena, as she was sipping her wine and smiling to herself, muttering phrases that made anyone shiver. You felt bad for her.
The doors opened to the dining room and Viserys was carried in, everyone standing in greeting to his royal majesty. He had looked tired, exhausted even, and that saddened your heart.
The sadness could never really last with Aemond staring into your very soul any chance he could, wearing a lustful smile, mind wandering to where the kiss prior could have led. The feelings stirring in your heart were that of love, the very thing that slays duty. A dangerous thing.
Once Viserys was finally seated, everyone else followed suit. His lowly eye looking around the whole table, taking in the sight of his family together, even if torn all the same.
“How good it is… to see you all tonight… together.”
His adoring gaze landed on Rhaenyra, before Alicent spoke.
“Prayer before we begin?”
“Yes.”
An odd thing that your mother had pointed out to you, was that Alicent was never religious during the time they spent together in their youth. The randomness of the religion she was now devout to had caused her great confusion, though she was not one to deny someone the freedom of worship.
“May the mother smile down on this gathering with love. May the Smith mend the bonds that have been broken for far too long. And to Vaemond Velaryon, may the gods give him rest.”
Your father sent a playful gaze at you, which you dismissed with an eye roll towards his attitude.
“This is an occasion for celebration, it seems. My grandsons, Jace and Luke, will marry their cousins, Baela and Rhaena, further strengthening the bond between our houses. A toast to the young princes… and their betrothed.”
Aemond’s eye was on you once again at the mention of betrothal, and your heart skipped a beat.
“Hear, hear!”
Everyone raised their glasses, the bitter wine wrapping around your tongue and slid down your throat with an aftertaste that was oddly sweet. The aroma had accents of earthy tones that reminded you of the sea, your home. Aegon’s whispers to Jace were heard but not acknowledged by you as you enjoyed your wine.
“Let us toast as well Prince Lucerys… the future Lord of the Tides.”
“Hear, hear.”
“You’ll be great.”
Aemond’s lingering stare towards Lucerys was dark, one of extreme distaste, which reflected directly how he felt towards Jacerys also. But not you, never you, you were a person with an attitude that mirrored the harsh waves. Yet, you were delicate and sweet like his favorite fruit, the blueberry.
“You look beautiful, my daughter.”
Daemon laid a hand upon yours that sat on the table, smiling at you proudly.
“Thank you, Father. Rhaenyra has helped me pick the most beautiful of dresses. I owe it to her.”
The lovely couple now peer at each other lovingly before your Uncle rose up to speak, back hunched and breath coming out rugged and wild. Even while his face was covered, it was obvious his health was declining by the second.
“It both gladdens my heart and fills me with sorrow to see these faces around the table. The faces most dear to me in all the world… yet grown so distant from each other… in the years past.” His hand reaches up, grasping the gold mask and unclasping it, making you tense up immediately from surprise.
A skull. His skull.
The right side of his face had sunken in and molded to the bones of his face, the eye gone forever like his son’s. It was a horrible sight, but knowing that the man who had to endure it was your darling uncle made your heart ache.
“My own face… is no longer a handsome one… if indeed it ever was. But tonight… I wish you to see me… as I am. Not just a king… but your father. Your brother. Your husband… and your grandsire. Who may not, it seems… walk for much longer among you.” The mask is dropped to the table with a loud CLUNK, “Let us no longer hold ill feelings in our hearts. The crown cannot stand strong if the House of the Dragon remains divided. But set aside your grievances. If not for the sake of the crown… then for the sake of this old man who loves you all so dearly.”
Viserys shrinks back into his seat, being helped by Alicent who assists him in wiping his mouth, Rhaenyra now abruptly standing and holding her cup up. Her foot visibly shook from under the table, “I wish to raise my cup to Her Grace, the Queen.”
The two women looked each other in the eyes, Alicent’s gaze softening a bit at those words before she continued.
“I love my father. But I must admit that no one has stood… more loyally by his side than his good wife. She has tended to him with… unfailing devotion, love, and honor. And for that, she has my gratitude… and my apology.”
She takes a quiet seat, setting her cup down, and Alicent responds.
“Your graciousness moves me deeply, Princess. We are both mothers… and we love our children. We have more in common than we sometimes allow.” She stands, ringed hand grasping her cup, “I raise my cup to you… and to your house. You will make a fine queen.”
Rhaenyra and Alicent are both smiling to themselves as Alicent finally sits, and oddly enough, Rhaenyra raises her cup once again and looks to you now with a soft gaze, one of a mother.
“I’d also like to announce… Here and now, since Y/N is now my oldest child by law, I want to grant her the title as heir to the Iron Throne after me. A title very deserving of such a smart and beautiful woman, I loved your mother and she’d be very proud of how far you have come.” She raises the cup higher, everyone now doing so except Aegon whom was too busy drowning himself in booze.
“Hear, hear!”
Daemon clasps a proud hand on your shoulder, but your eyes gravitate to Aemond who tilted his cup to you with a smirk before taking a rather large gulp. A sign of respect perhaps?
The positive feelings were always to be interrupted, with Aegon now up and refilling his cup of wine. He was whispering to your sister, not loud enough for you to hear until Jace slammed his fists into the table, seat skittering as he rose quite quickly.
Jace clears his throat, but the tensions didn’t stop rising, Aemond now stood and eyeing up Jacerys, almost mentally telling him to stand down. And instead of attacking Aegon, Jace raised his cup to toast, patting Aegon on the shoulder rather awkwardly.
“To Prince Aegon and… Prince Aemond. We have not seen each other in years, but I have fond memories of our shared youth. And as men, I hope we may yet be friends and allies. To you and your family’s good health, dear uncles.” He takes a swift swig of his wine and gives Aegon another pat on the shoulder for the second time, making the man audibly groan, “To you as well.”
Aemond slowly shuffled back down into his seat and Helaena muttered a phrase under her breath while messing about with a thing in her clutches, “Beware the beast beneath the boards…”
“Well done, my boy.”
Helaena stands a bit off kilter, raising her wine glass, “I would like to toast to Baela and Rhaena. They’ll be married soon. It isn’t so bad. Mostly he just ignores you… except sometimes when he’s drunk.”
A bit of laughter choruses from the two families and the bright girl takes her seat once again, smiling wider than before. She was definitely your favorite between her and Aegon.
“Let us have some music.”
The prospect of hearing gentle tunes eased the anxiety of being sat at the table, and you visibly relaxed, holding the hand that Rhaenyra had held out to you, tightly. Jacerys stood up and excused himself before offering a hand to Helaena to dance, the girl taking his hand with a faint enthusiasm. Aegon, however, looked offended at that fact, yet the two still jumped around merrily with large smiles on their faces, putting a smile on your face also.
What shocked you was the tap on the shoulder you received, followed by the piercing eye of the man you adored staring down at you.
“Would you care to dance, Princess…?”
You hesitated at first, feeling your father’s eyes barreling into your head, yet your hand found Aemond’s, his fingers gently cusping over yours as he guided you to rise from your seat and stand near your brother and aunt.
One hand stayed clasped in his, the other on his rather broad shoulder as his free hand slid down to greet your waist with a singular touch. He guided the whole waltz, taking the liberty of spinning you and adding flare to the dance, making you giggle and laugh out into the night, all to the displeasure of your father, intensely watching the whole interaction with distaste. Yet, your uncle only watched you two adoringly, seeing himself and Aemma within you and Aemond. A tough man and his adoring wife, a misunderstood boy and the one who understands him the most.
Eventually, the man who held your very heart in his palm guided you back to your seat, kissing your hand ever so kindly before taking his seat, grabbing his chalice to take a hefty gulp of wine. Rhaenyra looked fairly happy, face turned upward and eyes sparkling with child-like wonder that she had lost ages ago. Alicent looked just about the same, smiling at her. It felt… good, and normal, and like home, to be with all the people in your family.
The moment was cut short when Viserys began to groan in pain and Alicent called for the guards to escort him back to his chambers for rest, your father’s face dropping at seeing his brother in pain. Yet, servants came in with various food items as the king was just leaving, a finely cooked pig being set in front of Aemond.
This aroused a laugh out of Lucerys, who was looking Aemond in the eye while openly laughing, the music coming to a stop once Aemond slammed a fist into the wooden table. His thin and wiry fingers curled atop the wine chalice, raising it up.
“Final tribute.”
Discomfort surfaced over every other emotion you felt, and you pleaded with him through desperate eye contact which seemingly egged him on further.
“To the health of my nephews: Jace… Luke… and Joffrey. Each of them handsome, wise…”
Alicent almost seems to stiffen, eyeing up her son, while his eyes bounced between his nephews and you. He was going to say it, you knew it, you felt it in your very heart of hearts, so you braced for the outrage.
“Hm… strong.”
“Aemond–”
“Come… let us drain our cups to these three…” Aegon raises his cup, “Strong boys.”
“I dare you to say that again–”
“Why?” He gazes at Jace, “‘Twas only a compliment. Do you not think yourself Strong?”
The two boys strided towards each other quickly and Jace quickly swung a punch towards Aemond, striking him in the face. It sounded like Lucerys was also getting in a squabble, but you were only focused on Aemond being okay and Jace being unscathed.
You quickly rose and went to grab Jace to separate him and Aemond, but Aegon took the moment to let go of Lucerys and throw you into the table with him, causing your sisters to shout loudly and stand up, ready to defend you.
The guards quickly ended the fighting, but not before Aemond shoved Jace down to the ground with a chuckle.
Daemon was quick to help you from the table, holding you with loving arms of a father who cared heavily for his first-born daughter and future heir to the throne after Rhaenyra. Your eyes were on Aemond, who seemed satisfied with the petty squabbles, and even though he wasn’t looking at you, he could feel how hurt you were, like it was raining upon him from the very skies.
“Why would you say such a thing before these people?”
“I was merely expressing how proud I am of my family, Mother.” Daemon looks at you with eyes of suspicion due to your lingering stare towards Aemond, “Mm, though it seems my nephews aren’t quite as proud of theirs.”
Jace lunges for Aemond, but you step up, “Wait, wait!”
You hold your arms up to keep distance between Aemond and Jace, everyone's face contorting in confusion. Rhaenyra excuses her sons to go to bed and you keep eye contact with Aemond.
“You went too far–”
“Y/N–”
“You went too far and you know it, Aemond. I thought you… cared for me.. Enough to at least not claim my brothers are bastards.”
His face contorts to one of guilt, looking almost sorry for even causing such trouble. His eyes suddenly look behind you, and you know your father is most likely staring arrows into Aemond.
“Mm..” You hear Daemon behind you, and Aemond shrugs it off, now walking away with haste. Before you could chase after him, Daemon gently grabs our wrist to hold you in place.
“Daughter, do you hold affections for the boy who just insulted your brothers?”
Rhaenyra stared intensely from beside him.
“If I did… then what? Would you have me exiled like you were? Fulfill what everyone thinks, that I am a mini version of you? I just want everyone to get along for once, but it seems there will always be a strain upon both of our families…” You look at Alicent, whom looks visibly happy that you are finally saying something about how you feel. Something she could never do as a young woman due to the men in her life.
“I will love who I want, and if Aemond is the one I choose… then so be it. Disinherit me from the throne, throw my name from our family books, I could care less.”
Before Daemon could speak, you walked past him, sending Rhaenyra an apologetic look with your hands balled into fists. You had to find Aemond.
-
You would eventually find Aemond within his chambers, clutching his eyepatch in his left hand while staring wearily out of the window to his left. You couldn’t see his lost eye from the angle you were standing at, but you could see his other eye, blue and almost glowing with the light of the night.
“You defend me against your family, yet when I insult them, you barely bat an eye… why?”
His voice is calm, low and tired. He had a point, why did you defend him? Should you have just sided with Rhaenyra and her blood children?
“Aemond…–”
“The connection we felt as young children was fleeting, yet you didn’t partake in beating me to a pulp. Why?”
You took firm steps to get closer to him, but he kept his head tilted just so you couldn’t see the other side of his face. He looked almost scared to be vulnerable with you. Yet, you brought a hand up to his cheek and slowly turned his head to look fully to you, and you stifle a gasp.
A sapphire glowed faintly in the socket where his eye would have been, the blue striking and beautiful. It held a sapphire glare, one that made your heart skip a beat.
He was beautiful, even if his mind told him he was imperfect.
“I’m monstrous, aren’t I?”
“Not in the slightest.”
His face softened significantly at your words and his head leaned down to be against yours, cold yet inviting.
“You always reminded me of sapphires, and I wanted to always keep you in my mind’s eye.”
“Such flattery should only come between those who know each other deeply-”
Before you could utter a word more, his lips were on yours.
The ocean and the flames, The sapphire and the ruby, together at last.
