I am going to make what is probably a very unpopular opinion really quick, but don't eat me.

I've noticed an uptick of people villanizing Oliver, not just for the BuckTommy of it all, but in general. While I'm not here to defend him - I don't know him outside of what mostly poorly managed "journalism" and his rarely posted on social media shows me - I do think that calling him shady, or blaming him almost entirely for Lou's departure from the show is kind of... immature? That's not exactly the right word, but it's late, and my brain no brain good.

I think I maybe just try not to assume the worst in people, that's just the type of person I am, but I hate passing judgment without having the whole story, and we'll never get that. We can go around in circles about circumstantial evidence and still never draw the right conclusion. Maybe Oliver is a total dick behind scenes, and he IS the reason BT ended prematurely. Maybe Lou was actually causing issues, or he and Oliver, or someone else on the cast or crew, didn't get along. Maybe Ryan, or Aisha, or Kenny, or Tracie, or JLH, or Peter, or Angela said some not so great things and tensions are running high.

tl;dr It's fine to speculate, but if you start going too far down the conspiracy theory rabbit hole, you'll end up somewhere, and someone, you probably don't want to be. It's fine to not like actors but try not to make just one of them the root cause for any and all misgivings you may have.

I saw a comment somewhere that said " I believe Jikook are really together and they will live their truth out loud once they come out of the military.''

Let me put my tin foil hat on and accept the "togetherness" beyond all reasonable doubt for the sake of this argument .

Do I think they would?

Hmm, maybe but probably not.

Let me explain.

I lived in Korea for 14 months whilst getting my Masters. That country is very conservative. I tend to tell my friends that technologically and developmentally, they are leaps and bounds above most countries. But culturally and societal wise, most of Korea is still in the 1950s.

Looking at Korea through the lens of kpop and also kdramas makes people think it's an accepting society. Watching your fave male idols wear skirts, blush, pink, dangle earrings does nothing for the actual LGBTQ rights on the ground. Absolutely nothing. Queer people in South Korea face prejudice, discrimination, and other barriers to social inclusion, the worst among the countries in the developed world. Just a few weeks ago, over 200K Christians took to the streets to protest the anti-discrimination law which among other things would have been a positive step for queer rights.

In a country that's highly unaccepting of things that are different, coming out can put your life and safety at risk and is not advisable.

Would idols from a big group like BTS coming out be a positive thing for the 🌈 movement in SK? Of course. But it would still be an uphill battle and the toll it would take on their mental health is unimaginable.

What I am trying to say is, put your expectations at zero. Because the reality is if any of the members of BTS are LGBTQ, they may never come out and that's okay. They don't owe anyone that. The way society doesn't expect straight people to come out, is the same way it should stop expecting queer people to as well.

I am bisexual and I live in a country where being queer is a criminal offence. I could be arrested and put in prison. I have made peace with the fact that I will never come out, I probably never will be with a woman either. It breaks my heart but that's my reality. Jikook reality is not as extreme as mine, but sometimes the court of public opinion can be just as brutal.

All in all, I believe in living life on your own terms, whatever that looks like. Whether it's taking the risk-jumping off a cliff and learning how to fly in the process. Or taking the safer route and choosing not to jump at all. As long as you are happy, I am happy for you.

I think this grace should be extended to these men, whatever their orientation may be. BTS have made history by paving the way in some circles, this 🌈 may be one of the doors they decide to open for idols someday. Or it is just as likely we may never know, and that's ok. It's none of our business anyway.

BTS Jungkook Birth chart analysis

Based on my opinions and observations. Not an expert. May change later.

Sun, Moon, and Mercury are in Virgo, giving him a Virgo stellium. He is detail oriented, helpful and reliable, and incredibly hard working, not a slacker at all. The downsides are that he's likely very critical on himself and others (but more likely on himself; Virgos are just...a little too self aware lol), perfectionistic, nitpicky, and can be an overthinker. E.g the time he was crying about a small mistake he made on stage that the other members hadn't seen at all. They all sit in the 8th house as well and form conjunctions to each other (sun conjunct moon and mercury, moon conjunct mercury)

Virgo Sun in 8th is very private and maybe even shy. Jungkook's not really an extrovert tbh, he has a small circle and is often seen hanging out with the same few friends. This placement is quite picky with who they choose to let into their life - they have to be extremely sure they can trust you to completely let you in their inner world.

Moon in 8th is an intense placement. Very strong feelings here. Having a Virgo moon though should help calm the intensity a little or at least help him navigate his feelings in a more structured way. Virgo moons tends to analyze and rationalize their thoughts and feelings. This could explain why Jungkook's never been the type to openly show his deeper feelings. This house can be transactional and Virgo is a sign of service, so he may find security in helping/servicing others. And people like to reciprocate the helpful energy for him too.

Mercury in 8th is a deeply curious and investigative placement. Virgo mercury is especially detailed - nothing gets past Jungkook. It's known he lurked around in fandom space on tiktok and twitter, so he most likely knows all the jokes and other things the fans talk about. This placement wants to understand things deeply.

Neptune, Uranus, and Jupiter are in 1st house. Neptune (illusions) and Uranus (unpredictable and constant change) can make a person chameleon-like in terms of appearance and Jungkook is versatile in fashion. It could explain why it was a bit confusing to guess his rising sign.

Jupiter in 1st - puts in a lot of effort into everything he does, may sometimes overdo things. Tries to be optimistic and upbeat, wants to enjoy life to the fullest.

Libra Venus is domicile and in 9th. Curious and knowledge seeking, especially curious about new cultures and places

Mars Scorpio in the 10th is very passionate and ambitious. Very determined to succeed in his career and reach all the goals he sets for himself. His motto "I would rather die than live without passion" is a perfect example of this placement.

Saturn in 3rd - some sort of challenge with communication. This placement can be very shy and maybe even a bit self conscious, socially anxious. Jungkook was incredibly shy when he was younger - iirc he would even cry when asked to sing and used to be so shy around the members predebut in general.

Pluto in 11th - a strange tense relationship with the idea of friendship. He didn't have much close friends when he was young and going to a whole new city made him even lonelier. However meeting BTS gave him friendship, which helped his loneliness a lot. They even helped him get over his shyness and support him with anything he does. He cares very deeply about them, even crying when they were talking about the struggles they were going through. He considers them his family, which makes sense since he was basically raised by them. He himself is quite influential as well (a given as he's a huge celebrity though) and can pretty much make anything he likes and anywhere goes become very popular.

Chiron in 10th - worried about how his image and reputation is perceived by others. Considering how incredibly shy Jungkook was when he was younger, it's not surprising he may have had a lot of self doubt about his journey to being an idol (along with the very self critical Virgo stellium. Chiron in 10th + Virgo stellium is careful and perfectionistic in order to have a good image). There may be issues of self esteem and power (mainly with authority and/or with himself) within his life.

With North Node in 8th though, it pushes Jungkook to be more open to create relations with others. He doesn't have to do everything alone - he should learn to rely on others and be comfortable being more open, both mentally and emotionally.

Capricorn rising is a little surprising ngl...However, I think it explains his physical features well. His eyes (I've noticed many Cap placements have big eyes), his face structure, and especially his hair. Capricorn rising hair is always very noticeable considering Capricorns rule hair. And like most earth risings, he can be down to earth and reserved - he keeps to himself a lot. Definitely very hard working like a Capricorn, ambitious and strives for success.

His Libra MC could be why many people thought he was a Libra rising. It is at 29°, a Leo degree, so that could also explain why people thought he could have been a Leo rising too. Libra mc is artsy and creative, which shows in his art skills in drawing, photography, and editing. Obviously his singing and dancing as well. It's apparent in his fashion too: experimenting with his hair styles, his sleeve tattoo, his piercings, and darker yet neat clothing style.

The Definition of Jikook: Through Others Eyes

“Becca, how would you define Jikook?” In the last few months I have been asked this several times. And not by Jikookers. Since my bad experiences with offline events, I decided (in typical “me” fashion) to just throw myself out there and keep moving forward. This included joining more Twitter GC’s or Discord Servers and going to more offline events. In one of the most recent events, I lived locally and wanted to help. Therefore, I offered to escort some anxious Army from the train station to the venue.

Anyway, I was still cautious about going and, though there were a few odd moments, the event went really well overall. Something else kindled during this event that I did not expect: The desire to talk more about jikook. Before, even mentioning Jikook as a unit and not as Jimin and Jungkook was almost seen as a taboo. Especially compared to the other units that we are familiar with. Due to me no longer giving a damn and using my main twitter account, people relating to the event knew who I was and they had questions. Very interesting questions. About Jikook. About their enlistment. About the travel show. This was a pleasant surprise and it shocked me that some of these people already knew quite a lot without me telling them anything. Including some information that I thought was only in the Jikook circles. I asked one person why they didn’t talk about Jikook as much on Twitter and they said because they were scared with all the shipper fights. Which is quite valid really. If all you see whenever Jikook is mentioned is constant fighting, then you would distance yourself. It made me realise something though: 

Even if someone isn’t talking about Jikook. They are still watching and are very much aware of what is going on.

Sometimes we amplify the wrong things and we give the loudest voices to the negative comments. When I do the Live Reactions series, I will sometimes have hundreds of positive screenshots to go through and then(somehow) pick twenty-five of them for the thread. It was really interesting to see so many people talking about Jungkook going Live whenever Jimin went overseas or about the travel show. It also reminded some of moments that were sadly forgotten about.

This touches on something else too. Our traditions as a fandom have somewhat changed. With the removal of the social media awards, we no longer boost BTS’ history like we used to. Elon has also changed how we find content, with the removal of “moments” and advanced searching now being really difficult to find things. There is still hope though. With Jin’s return, it was lovely to see so many asking about Jin as a person or how Festa would work. Sharing old memories and watching Bang Bang Con together added so much value to our experiences together as a fandom.It’s something we should treasure. 

BTS have shared so much with us and it’s why I’ll forever be thankful for archive accounts. With every post or comment shared with others, we encourage them to learn more about the members or to watch content they may not have seen before. I experienced this myself when I mentioned Bon Voyage to someone who didn’t know what it was. They had only watched “In the Soop” and were excited by the concept of the members going abroad together. I hope they enjoy it!

Going back to Jikook, I have seen an increase of positive engagement surrounding them. This includes in both online and offline spaces. It makes me excited for when the travel show comes out and the conversations it will create, with so many already floating around. When I am asked how I define them myself, I try to turn it around. It doesn’t matter what I think about Jikook or how I define them. That should be obvious by my account. What matters is how others do and the respect that it holds.

The season has yet to begun but everyone was at the factory in full swing. Fernando was called in to start his usual preseason requirements, seat fit, simulator, briefings, and of course media duties.

“Just a little more carino, then we can leave.” Fernando said as he pressed a kiss to your cheek before being pulled away by Jimmy, the social media manager. Lance always seemed to disappear whenever the camera came out, leaving Fernando to fill in the gaps.

Your stomach growled. Lunch had been a few hours ago and Fernando was nowhere in sight. You walked over to the break room hoping to grab a light snack to hold you over until Fernando was done and the two of you could get dinner.

You pushed the door open and froze.

Your lips tightened together as you tried to contain the laughter building inside you. Little squeaks escaped as you tried your best to just walk around over to the fridge. Your cheeks turning bright red as you watched the scene in front of you unfold.

Your husband had no idea you had even entered the break room. Fernando was focused on making the tiktok. His phone sat in the microwave as he crouched down and slowly spun in a circle.

As soon as he stood up, he was surprised by the eruption of laughter. Fernando turned around towards the fridge where his wife was bent over in hysterics, one hand holding onto the fridge for support.

“It's funny, no?” Fernando asked, thinking you were laughing at his tiktok and not the behind the scenes view you had. “Jimmy and I thought of it together! It's good, no?” He asked as he walked over and slid his arm around your waist, pulling you against his chest. His hand danced up and down your side as your face pressed into his shoulder as you tried to calm yourself down, tears spilling onto his shirt.

“It's funny, Nando, it really is.” you wheezed as you wiped the tears from your eyes. Your lips pressed against the scruffy facial hair on his cheek before you stood up properly. “It's great, I think you captured the essences of pizza rolls perfectly.” You teased him and he rolled his eyes at you before his fingers attacked you, tickling your sides in retaliation.

The rest of the day continued as usual. Fernando and you shared dinner together before cuddling up in bed for the night. Your head rested on his shoulder as you scrolled through social media. That's when the Aston Martin account popped up on your tiktok. The video was pretty funny you had to admit. Fernando peaked over to take a look to see what you were giggling at. A smile grew across his face as he watched his beautiful wife giggling in his arms watching his tiktok. Giggles continued to spill from your lips as you went through the comments.

User2: No! Don't microwave us!

User3: is that y/n in the background?

User4: yea she's in the behind the scenes

User5: Let! Him! Cook!

Behind the scenes? You didn't remember any behind the scenes video being shot. You clicked on the profile and scrolled until it popped up. Sure enough, there you were looking like a tomato trying to not laugh at your man-child husband before completely breaking down when he finished filming.

“Nando!” You yelped as you lightly slapped his chest and shoved your phone in his face. He chuckled as he looked at it and the comments. All the comments on the behind the scenes video were about you and your slow descent into hysterics. Everyone online was obsessing over you and your relationship with your husband. There were dozens of not hundreds of comments talking about how cute you two were together.

“I might have to give up my tiktoker of the year award.” He teased as he brushed the hair out of your bright red face.

Right Now

The way they work and think about their jobs is very similar. They both seem to be very grounded when it comes to work and quite stubborn. These similarities brought them closer, and I believe they were meant to meet in some way—like it was destined for them to connect. They used to go out to have fun, and it was always something social, often involving drinks and similar activities.

One of them seemed to be in a relationship, and after that relationship ended, they started having more fun together. They seemed to have a really good connection—very friendly with each other, always smiling and happy.

They’re always with a group of mutual friends, never just the two of them. But I think they’re not meeting much right now because both are busy with work.

Jungkook feelings towards Jennie

When he first saw her in person, he thought she was very confident—a person who knew exactly where she stood and who she was. That really caught his attention from the start. However, he was very cautious about approaching her. He wasn’t sure what kind of person she was or if she would be friendly towards him. He approached her carefully, feeling a bit hesitant and maybe even a little intimidated. But once he started talking to her, he realized she was actually very similar to him.

He felt like someone from his “soul family” or the same kind of circle he naturally connects with. From the beginning, they had conversations about their careers and work. He saw that she truly appreciated where she was in her career and had strong ambitions to grow. He found her passion for work very inspiring and thought she was hardworking, capable of managing people well, and a potential leader.

However, he still has doubts about her, wondering if she truly handles situations as well as she appears to or if she’s different behind closed doors.

Right now, he hasn’t reached out to her. It seems like something happened that changed his perspective about her, and he’s waiting to see if they’ll reconnect as friends. For now, it seems like he has some prejudice or reservations about her.

Jennie feelings towards Jungkook

She had a great relationship with him and saw him as a younger brother or something similar. But now, it seems like their friendship has been damaged and isn’t the same as before. She feels hesitant about approaching him or even talking to him, as if something bad happened that created a real distance between them.

She thinks he’s very talented and has a bright future in music. She truly recognizes his potential but feels very indecisive about him. She’s unsure if they will ever be friends again or reconnect because she believes there’s another man involved—possibly someone older—who is manipulating Jungkook’s mind to keep them apart. She feels conflicted about this man and believes he’s the reason their friendship has ended.

She finds this whole situation very frustrating and feels that their friendship might really be over.

Near future to them

I don’t see their friendship continuing. In fact, I believe it’s coming to an end, mostly from his side. I don’t think he will want to continue being friends with her or getting closer again. He seems very certain about his decision and will trust his intuition that it’s best to cut ties.

On the other hand, I think she would like to rebuild their friendship in the future, but she’ll be very upset when that doesn’t happen.

This seems like the end of their friendship. While they may admire or silently judge each other’s work, it’s unlikely they’ll ever openly share their thoughts.

Hey! Have been a long-time follower of your blog and I really like BTS but I thought to rant about how Namjoon is a Sagittarius rising!! and your post was correct on guessing his rising sign. Have you pulled up his chart yet? Is there anything you see that you find interesting? (I know you're not an astrologer or anything, but I am just really curious). But also, can we talk about Jungkook's birth chart? He's a Capricorn rising.... I did not expect that at all. I would have guessed the Libra rising or Leo rising to fit him but to have Capricorn rising, Virgo sun, and Virgo moon (not Leo moon either which is crazy because I believe Jungkook was a Leo moon for the longest of time and now I am doubting if Yoongi is a Virgo moon like what if he is a Libra moon?). Hello my love! First of all, thank you for considering my rants interesting enough for you to consider to pass by and ask for more lol. If i'm not mistaken, you're asking me what in his chart made me stick to the sagittarius rising theory??

okay, let's begin then, I'll try to keep it brief.

Let's take a look at his chart with the Sagittarius rising (I use whole signs).

Why I tought a Sagittarius rising could suit him (keeping it kinda simplistic because I don't want to make this too long):

—Would make his Moon fall in the 1st, in a fire sign. Now that we have his specific birth time, we can also notice that it's in a tight conjuction with his ascendant. Moon influencing the Ascendant can give very round faces like Namjoon's (if there isn't anything in the way ofc). Also, he's very expressive and sassy and I tought maybe just a moon in sagittarius combined with the rest of his chart wasn't enough to make him that wild. Now, ofc he's for sure matured, he's in his 30s, but if you go back in time, when he was younger, the Sagittarius influence was waaaaaay more noticeable by the way he behaved.

—The Scorpio vibes people were getting from he would still have made sense because Jupiter in Scorpio would be his chart ruler. Jupiter expands and exaggerates everything it touches, so scorpio vibes intensifies.

—Chart ruler & Venus would fall in the 12th. 12th house is a malefic house, related to self-isolation, mental & physical prisons, hidden enemies and a huge etc. Prominent 12th house placements made sense for him because 1) he's an idol, 2) he's a specially private person 3) his struggles with anxiety, 4) this is also due to other placements in his chart but how he's so interested in human philosophy and pshycology and how he's very analytical, 5) alone time and personal space are very important for him, 6) too many toughts, too inmersed in his mind, 7) now this one is just literal translation lmao he's got venus IN SCORPIO in THE 12TH = turbulent love life, having to keep your love life secret (and he's an idol lol). Idk if astrology theory backs this up but at least a personal observation of mine is that 12th house placements can make reaaaaaally intelligent people, specially in the emotional field. Ofc 12th house placements are not enough for that, in his case makes sense because of the virgo + scorpio + sagittarius combination.

—Sun in Virgo in the 10th house, 10th house ruler in the 11th, MC falls in the 11th -> fame & Influence, being known for being a nerd lol, combined with his sagittarius placements that give him internationality + 9th house ruled by his sun in the 10th = career taken to overseas matters, traveling because of your job.

—His MC falls in Libra, making conjunction with Mercury in the 11th -> being known for being a good comunicator, eloquent & a diplomatic person. Not only his social reputation among his circle, we are talking about big crowds (11th), being known in his field of work because of the same thing, as his 11th house & 10th house are working together (10th house ruled by his mercury in libra in the 11th that's in conj. with his MC).

—Sagittarius placements would make someone good at languages and interested in different cultures, so very namjoon coded.

—About his Saturn in the 4th I didn't think too much because we don't know really much about his family background, but the fact that his Saturn would fall in angular house didn't rub me off, it made sense.

And honestly anon? It was also a bit of a gut feeling too because I always related a lot to namjoon and we share a lot of placements so in my head him being a sagittarius rising made sense because that would make our placements fall in the same houses so me relating to him so much would fall into place even more so lol.

About the Yoongi thing, I already ranted about him in the guessing rising post so yeah. My brain can't process him having a Libra moon and literally no Virgo in his chart at all because for me he's such a strong representation of a Virgo moon lol but if he's a Scorpio Rising as I think he is, then he would have a Moon in the 12th, which is not crazy, makes sense for me. If he's an Aquarius rising, which was my other guess, then yes, he'd stay as a Virgo moon.

Finally, about Jungkookie, oh yes anon, it was soooo unexpected to me lol. At first I was like huh? CAPRICORN RISING? MOON IN VIRGO??? EARTH BIG 3???? So this is just a proof of how strong the influence of the idol persona his agency created for him is lol (the sweet & innocent maknae thing!). Like, even if those fake birth times wouldn't have been around, I still would have tought about a Libra or Leo rising, but honestly never Capricorn. He was giving so much Libra energy that I said, yep, it's the rising with Venus in the first!!! But okay, once you look at his chart and try to understand where it comes from it was probably the Libra Venus falling in the 10th.

We already know he's a strong perfectionist and he's very hard on himself. After seeing all that earth, we can definetely confirm is not just for the plot and to appeal fans or smth like that and actually, it's probably even worse than the public can see, which makes me feel bad for him.

Also, he's probably very very stubborn lol. People have mentioned it before, but yk, we as consumers don't really perceive him that way because we only see the soft, cute boy side they want us to see but ohhh brother. Capricorn, virgo & scorpio mixed together???? That's some intense (&hot) combination. His Libra Venus in the 10th is probably his Almuten Figuris or his Lord of Geniture and that's what's saving him from looking mean and is adding the soft, sweet, approachable boy aura to him lol.

And lastly, his chart ruler being Saturn in Aries in the 4th really makes great sense, since he left home very very early (aries= first sign of the zodiac, everything fast, early independence) to work and was forced to mature very soon.

This placement and the Libra Venus in the 10th are the only ones that didn't take me by suprise. The rest, shooketh. I do have to add that if you have both Libra & Capricorn placements in the chart, the Libra effect softens the Capricorn ones pretty much so, maybe that's what happened LOL. Libras with strong saturnian influence turn out more disciplined and decisive than your typical libra placement but they still manage to mantain their sweet & charming vibe, but in a more subtle way.

Okay, this is gonna be a long one because I got a HELL of a lot to say on this matter;

It's a shame because nobody who has actually interacted with him has a bad word to say about him. The negative portrayal of him being peddled by 'notajikookers' here is a shipper/anti invention and doesn't line up with what people who actually know him or have met him say.

I know he's not flawless and people close to him will see him at his worst because none of us are perfect but everyone from his close social circle to his peers to random fan reports and encounters not only speak well of him but are VISIBLY and obviously fond of him, proud of him and endeared by him. (The proof is in the pudding even in official content but I guess we're supposed to believe that every single person he surrounds himself with is an Oscar worthy actor giving Oscar worthy performance 24/7 🙄)

And this has been the takeaway from people who met the group before they were even famous. One notorious story is of him meeting a granny before BTS even released their first song and she found him so polite and endearing that she supported the group long afterwards and even tried to get her grandsons into their music.

And those who have met him talk about him the same way she did. The takeaway from most people is that Taehyung is polite, funny and charming but we're supposed to entertain the opinions of people with UNs like jic_oo_k666 because they conveniently have a bad feeling about him while watching a BTS Run episode and these morons expect us to ignore the fact that this also conveniently validates and soothes their own ship insecurity and anxiety? 🙄

This is a guy who, as a kid and while experiencing the overwhelming pressure of global fame, praise, criticism and the stresses of overworking---suffered through a rally of traumatic losses, grief and experiences and the resulting impact on his mental health and STILL turned into a man that is perceived so positively and warmly by those who know him. That speaks volumes about his character.

Because at one point, it felt like every time we clicked a button we were hearing about another loss in Tae's life. Like he was going THROUGH it and still getting up and doing his job only to have certain 'fans' reward him with death threats, insults and taunts about his departed grandmother

Between shitty life circumstances, a shitty company and shitty 'fans'---there's enough there that could have broke him and turned him bitter but it speaks volumes about his personality that when the shit hit the fan, the people closest to him WANTED to gather around him, wanted to support him, wanted to comfort him, wanted to put a smile on his face, wanted to reinforce how much he was loved and how proud of him they were, they wanted to see him come out the other side. Why would they be so damn concerned and so clearly invested in him feeling better and trying to lift him up and build up his confidence if he was such a negative presence in their lives? Answer is; they wouldn't, dumbasses. Like the group litter the ground with context clues and these fools are too dumb, lazy or envious to bend to pick ONE up.

There was one episode (I think it was a Run episode but I might be wrong) where Taehyung really enjoys a rich, flavored meal so much he cant stop eating it and Hobi is inexplicably happy about it and excitedly lets the others know how much Tae likes it and Jin jumps on a promise to recreate it for him whenever he wants and this is just a throwaway part of the episode but it's significant because it was coming off the end of Tae's period of depression (that he has revealed himself so that's the only reason Im talking about it) and if you've ever had or known someone going through that shit, you know that physical and sensory numbness is a symptom of depression that can fuck with your appetite and enjoyment of things and it's usually a good sign of healing when you start enjoying simple stuff like flavors, scents etc again.

(Looking back at that moment after Tae had spoken openly about depression, it made a lot more sense why Hobi and Jin would react that way over something so simple as Taehyung enjoying a meal)

Like I just have no patience with people who question the bond between any of the guys because you can find so many of these 'side' moments, where it's clearly not scripted or intended to be part of the content, that show that these 7 men genuinely care about each other. They were so damn happy and excited to see him enjoying the taste of his meal and people STILL want to question whether the group relationship dynamic is real or not.

Another example is when they're rating themselves and their achievements for the year and Tae rates himself super low and Namjoon makes a point of boosting his confidence and cuddling him (for all you morons who want to talk shit about Joon disliking Tae like Joon hasn't done more than enough over the years to preemptively shut your asses up on that point)

Like you insecure ship heads really think it's cameramen giving Joon a countdown to fucking cuddle in that moment? 🤡 And that he's not just doing it because Tae is someone that he loves and doesn't want to see beating up on himself and thinks he's worthy of feeling better about himself?

People don't respond like that if the person in question is all of the negative things 'fans' accuse Tae of being---or any other member of being.

These haters and antis need to use their damn brain matter for once in a while.

The people who meet Taehyung like him and love him for a reason. The people on the damn street who meet him root for him for a reason. People who are at the top of their own professions and have their own stardom like him and love him for a reason. His group members want to protect him, defend him, care for him, comfort him, heal him etc for a reason and it's not because he's the horrible person that shippers and antis make him out to be.

Taehyung isn't your problem. My question is kind of circling back to your comment about the use of Go-Pro's going forward when it comes to BTS content. It's such an easy way to add a very personal and up close pov to the scenes. YET, I feel like the scaled down crew of AYS and the use of Go-Pro's and especially the lack of attention to the audio has led to some pretty egregious technical setbacks. From choppy audio to a lack of proper coverage in certain scenes. This leads to an edit that has to cover a lot of potholes, so to speak. Do you think this is purely due to the intimate nature of AYS (less crew means more comfort for jikook, easier travel in between locations) or something else? Where's that Disney money 😩😩😩?

Hi Sol, I'm loving our exchanges, so thank you for keeping it going and sending me such an interesting prompt! I definitely had to think about this one a little bit to find how to encapsulate my thoughts.

The short answer is, I think this all just speaks to how the BTS production team is approaching experimental content and the financing required for such projects. Some comparables would be Suchwita and Jin's Alcohol Journey.

Let's start with Jin's show first.

(For anyone that hasn't watched it, I highly recommend. I don't drink but I still found it fascinating.) This is a 4 part episodic show that followed Jin as he learned about and made his own batch of a traditional drink. This show was a collaboration with Chef Baek Jong-won.

Personally, I feel this show was a success. Definitely leaned into more traditional filmmaking and storytelling (appropriately given the subject matter) and was a little more heavy-handed with the promo of Jin's solo music. In my opinion, this will lean the content to feeling more dated than it truly is but that may give us a hint as to how it was funded. There weren't any blatant sponsorships aside from the partnership with Chef Baek so it could have been reconciled as part of the promotions for The Astronaut. Wooteo is pretty prevalent in the show and it aired in the midst of the promo content.

I don't remember when the deal with Disney started to become known but I don't recall anyone in my circles angry that it wasn't getting the Disney release. (Could have been happening but I really limit where I spend my time engaging in social media so maybe that's on me for not being aware. Does anyone here remember if this was an issue?)

Now, let's move on to Suchwita.

If you watch the first episode, it's on a different set and aired about a month before ep 2. When ep 3 airs, they first make it very clear that the show 'survived'. This is what leads me to believe that episode 1 was filmed on speculation. They could use that as a proof-of-concept to shop the show around to brands to secure more long-term funding. Suchwita's main focus as a show in the current events space is very focused on the guest's current projects and promotions.

Getting back to AYS,

We're far enough into the show that I believe we can rule out album promotions as being a financial driver. Not only because most of the member's songs that even make an appearance in the show were long-ago released but the manner in which they were incorporated is indicative as well. They're really only mentioned in the context of bringing us into the member's lives and sharing in the joy they have for eachother's work. (Also hopefully satisfying those fans that only ask the members to mention other member's songs when one of them would livestream...but that's a subject for another day.)

I think there's a strong possibility that the US eps were filmed on speculation as well. That there was no guarantee of a Disney release at the time. Just like the other shows, they knew they knew they could release on their own if Disney decided to pass so the footage definitely wouldn't be wasted. But I believe that's why the scope of the show seems vaguely undefined during eps 1&2.

Everything else that we've been discussing regarding production honestly seems within the typical scope of BTS's content under similar circumstances. Yes, there is plenty of room for improvement, but it's far from the worst show BTS has ever produced. I think one of the points that makes ppl think it's worse than it is is the management of expectations. I mentioned this in my review of Jimin's Production Diary but if we approach that show expecting that we're going to get detailed breakdown of all of the steps to create an album, we'll be very disappointed. Likewise, AYS is not a detailed vlog of how our members spent their time in these mini vacations.

One last thought,

BTS is not really given the space to experiment and explore. True experimentation requires space for failure, realignment, and growth. And that's just not something BTS has been granted the luxury of. There is such EXPECTATION with everything they release. Everything HAS to be success. That's one of the reasons I was so thrilled to hear RM had performed an unreleased song at the D-DAY concert. Crowdworking new material at concerts was a staple of tourning bands in the west and it helps bands get such critical live feedback DURING the creative process. Now, I don't think that was necessarily the goal with RMs performance but it's so lovely to see him able to even take a step in that direction. Such a thing woukd have been completely unheard of years prior. Fans (likely still) would have been clamoring about being led astray if the song changed drastically after that performance.

Anyway, I could very easily be completely wrong about all of this so let's all take it with a huge grain of salt.

so i made the mistake of going on instagram (i just wanted to look at their bts pics okay). some takes there (emphasis on some) are just. yeah. the chief thing i saw was that some are complaining about how the story didn't seem to show how colin fell in love with penelope - like he's suddenly head over heels for her overnight without a proper buildup.

i'm willing to agree with some pacing issues, but can i also just say? guys? i really don't think it was that sudden or rushed or abrupt. we literally witnessed how colin fell in love with pen in episodes 1 and 2, it was right in front of our eyes - those moments where they made up, where they bantered during lessons, where they shared inside jokes at those social events - the genuine connection of it all was how he fell in love with pen.

and we know this because he literally said in his journal that the lack of such connection was what made his relations with those french women still so unsatisfying (quote, "i marvel at how one can feel such intimacy, but also great distance"). he craves for a connection; to him it's a necessary precedent for love.

and now we know, from the way he acts his happy, genuine self around pen, that he only really got this from her. i guess people just misconstrue their moments as only being platonic and not building up to something romantic because this is what they have always been in seasons 1 and 2. curse the friends to lovers trope for being very subtle (a reason why i love it so much), but this is really what it's about; the romance is a slow going thing, but it's already always been there, blurred into the lines of friendship. the venn diagram between the two is a circle, if you will.

(but if we're being honest, some of the things they've done this season have no platonic explanation, which is why these should already be obviously a buildup).

so the kiss was not the catalyst of colin's new, spontaneous, romantic feelings. it was just his turning point in realizing that he's already always had them, and are now in full swing. the kiss was the final straw - it was the moment colin knew that he already loved penelope.

Things between them were... complicated. Far too complicated. But within that great mess that was their relationship, there was a connection neither of them was willing to lose, one they had learned to guard jealously from the eyes and gossip of others. They didn't need anyone else to know, because what they had was specifically shaped and created by and for them.

For them to live. To cherish. To understand.

If someone were to ask what had sparked that strange relationship, they would surely blame everything on their exchange semester in Monaco. In reality, that had been the first domino to fall, and everything that happened afterward was merely a consequence of it.

Alyssane Velaryon and Aegon Targaryen came from an already complicated family. Aegon's mother, Alicent, used to be the best friend of Alyssane's mother, Rhaenyra. Up to that point, everything seemed relatively normal; things started to twist when Alicent had an affair with Rhaenyra's father and then married him, a union from which Aegon and two other siblings were born.

As surprising as this might seem, that wasn't the greatest scandal in the Targaryen family. But then again, dark secrets always seem to surround powerful families.

With growing tensions within the family, Aegon and Alyssane were raised in similar environments, but remained distant from one another, only crossing paths when strictly necessary. Of course, these situations weren't rare; within such a limited social circle, it was impossible for the families not to constantly run into each other. That turned out to be a good thing, as when they were teenagers, something almost magical happened, and suddenly, everyone was at peace again.

Perhaps their mothers were to blame.

When their mothers became inseparable once more, they wanted to do the same with their children. That was why they presented the idea of doing a semester abroad in Monaco to both of them.

Why Monaco? They didn’t know for sure, but they suspected it had something to do with their mothers' rekindled friendship. In the end, they both agreed, each for their own reasons: Aegon, drawn by the parties and excesses a wealthy country like Monaco could offer, and Alyssane, excited by the freedom it promised—especially a semester without having to constantly keep an eye on her three brothers, which sounded like a dream.

The first few weeks, however, they remained distant. Despite living in the same apartment, they barely saw each other due to their differing schedules. When they did run into each other at parties, their interactions lasted no more than a couple of minutes.

When they started missing home, they unconsciously decided to spend more time together. Then came what Alyssane always describes as one of the worst chapters of her life—when her boyfriend broke up with her, claiming that the distance had affected their relationship too much. It was a cheap excuse, considering the guy had a private jet and could have flown to the principality whenever he wanted, but as flimsy as his excuse was, it still managed to wound Alyssane's heart. They had been together since they were fifteen; she hadn’t known anything else and felt like her life had ended with that relationship.

Maybe Monaco was to blame.

If they hadn’t gone to Monaco, Alyssane’s heart wouldn’t have been broken, and she wouldn’t have had to seek refuge in the only person who could remind her, even a little, of home—Aegon.

Her mother was too busy with business matters, and although Alyssane knew that she would fly over immediately to be by her side, she didn’t want to bother her.

And Aegon, even though he wasn’t always attentive to the things happening around him, immediately noticed his niece's absence from school. He figured it was normal enough, given her recent breakup, but when he realized that her absence extended to the parties she used to love, he started to worry for real.

When he finally gathered the courage to barge into her room and found her in that horrible self-imposed isolation, he felt terrible—especially because he had been going from party to party, fueling rumors about himself while she, who deserved for people to care about her, was there, wasting away in her sadness.

At first, it seemed a bit exaggerated to him that Alyssane, at nineteen, was so heartbroken over a breakup. She had money, she was beautiful, and with her charming personality, the moment she announced she was single, messages would pour in. But then he understood that Alyssane and her ex-boyfriend had been together since they were fifteen; she hadn’t known anything else.

That’s when he knew he had to be there for her, because his father always said family needed to stick together and support each other when times seemed darkest. It had started as a purely brotherly and innocent act, but soon it began to turn into something different.

Maybe it had been his fault.

He should have kept his distance; of all the times he could’ve followed his father’s advice, he had chosen this one. If he hadn’t tried to lift his niece’s spirits with a motivational talk, then nothing would have happened.

"You still have so much left to experience. He was just one of many idiots," he told her at the end of his lengthy talk.

They were sitting on the floor of her room, backs against the bed, with a couple of empty wine bottles beside them. The glasses in their hands were still full.

"So, you're saying I should meet more idiots?" she asked.

"You should actually stay away from them," Aegon replied with a soft laugh. "It's just that, in this world, you'll come across plenty. In the end, what's important is learning to spot them before they hurt you."

"Maybe you're right," she said, taking a sip of wine. "But I can't help feeling a little lost. He was... everything. I don’t know anything more."

"Then get to know more," he shrugged. "I'm sure there are hundreds out there who would do anything to get your attention. We have the blessing—or curse, depending on how you see it—of being part of one of the most powerful families. That means many will do whatever it takes for a bit of our time."

"And that also means I’ll have to pay attention to their intentions," Alyssane said, frowning.

"That's the only way to learn how to spot the idiots," Aegon added.

Alyssane smiled bitterly and nodded, falling silent for a moment as she let his words settle in her mind. Aegon was right; his words felt insightful, and before that day, she wouldn’t have believed he could offer good advice.

"And what about you? Are you an idiot too?" the brunette asked after a while, blinking rapidly to ward off the tears threatening to surface.

"Haven't you read everything they say about me? Apparently, I'm the disgrace of House Targaryen," he replied with a smile, turning to look at her.

Alyssane’s gaze locked onto Aegon’s, and he became acutely aware of the strange weight pressing down on his chest. Before that night, he had never noticed how beautiful she was; sure, most of their family members were quite good-looking, but now, as he looked at her closely, he realized she was truly stunning.

"They don’t know what they’re talking about," she said simply, knowing that what the media portrayed rarely aligned perfectly with reality.

"Or maybe they do. Maybe I am a bit of a disaster."

Aegon wanted to look away, to stop staring at her because the weight in his chest grew heavier with each passing second, and he didn’t know how to handle it.

"Disasters are interesting," was her conclusion, which she sealed by gulping down the rest of her wine.

Maybe the wine was to blame.

Alyssane used to drink, but whenever she did, it was at a party, dancing and socializing so much that she barely noticed the effects of alcohol on her body. Now, sitting there without the frenzy, she could feel them clearly.

Her body felt numb, heavy; when she went out, the images would swirl around her like a colorful blur, but this time it felt like every second was etched carefully in her mind. Her lips tingled strangely, and she felt an overwhelming need to be held. She studied Aegon for a moment, wondering if it would be too weird if she just...

"What are you doing?" the silver-haired one asked as she straddled him.

It seemed the alcohol still gave her the ability to act on her impulses.

"A hug," she whispered, adjusting to find the best position. "Is it too weird?"

He had to say yes; one didn’t hug family members like that, and Aegon knew it. He had to admit that it made him uncomfortable because she was his niece, but Aegon couldn’t lie when he was drunk; he simply couldn’t.

"It’s not the weirdest thing anyone’s asked me, certainly," he said, unable to suppress a chuckle.

Alyssane wrapped her arms around Aegon’s neck, and he instinctively placed his arms around her back, settling into a comfortable embrace. The closeness felt strange and confusing, but neither of them made an effort to pull away.

The silence that followed was awkward at first, but the tension in the air lightened enough, and it was only broken by the heavy sigh that escaped Alyssane’s lips as she rested her head on Aegon’s shoulder.

"Sometimes I feel really lonely," she whispered.

Aegon felt, for a moment, that his niece's words pierced him like a dagger. He wasn't sure how to respond, but he understood that loneliness better than he wanted to admit; in a world like his, solitude was more common than one would expect and it lingered even when surrounded by people.

"You shouldn’t."

Unconsciously, his hands moved along her back, gently caressing her as a form of comfort. Alyssane's warm breath tickled pleasantly against his neck, and her weight on his lap did not go unnoticed; after all, he was still human, and alcohol never failed to make him more receptive to physical sensations.

Everything was mixing together, making it hard for him to keep his thoughts in the right place. He knew he shouldn't feel this way. But the combination of alcohol, silence, and the shared moment of vulnerability created an atmosphere that urged him to cross boundaries he knew shouldn’t be crossed.

"You’re not alone."

Due to their position, Aegon's lips brushed against Alyssane's temple, and his words ended up being whispered in her ear, sending a pleasant shiver through her that made her shift in place, directly causing friction against Aegon's groin. He quickly placed his hands on either side of her hips, keeping her still.

"Alyssane..." he murmured as a warning.

She finally lifted her head, looking into his eyes, and settled back onto him, smiling slyly as her movement drew a sigh from Aegon.

"We shouldn't," he said, his voice sounding much less firm than he had expected.

And his actions betrayed him too, because instead of pulling away, he leaned in closer to her, brushing his nose against Alyssane's, their breaths mingling in the small space between them. Aegon closed his eyes for a moment, trying to regain his composure, but the warmth radiating from Alyssane's body embraced him so comfortingly that it was impossible to think of anything but her and the closeness they were sharing.

"Why not?" Alyssane asked, her tone challenging common sense. There was a spark in her eyes that seemed to light up everything around them, and Aegon realized he didn't want to pull away.

Alyssane dared to press a careless kiss on Aegon's cheek, the warmth of her lips feeling better than any other display of affection he had ever received in his life. The contact made him open his eyes, looking at her with a mix of astonishment and desire.

His heart raced wildly, as if it wanted to leap out of his chest, and his hands tingled, eager to explore more of the girl on top of him, yet held back by that thin thread of morality that still remained.

Maybe they were to blame.

"Tell me you don't want this," Aegon whispered as a plea, though it was really a desperate attempt not to get caught up in that spiral of complications. "We still have time to—"

"What if I do want it?" she interrupted abruptly, a smile still painted on her face as she looked directly into his eyes.

Aegon smiled too, shaking his head slightly; sometimes he forgot that capriciousness was one of the greatest traits of the Targaryens. No one ever denied them anything simply for being who they were; they took what they wanted when they wanted, and no one could do anything about it.

And at that moment, all they wanted was each other, even if it felt forbidden. Who could tell them no? Who was there to stop them?

"Is it wrong?" Alyssane questioned, placing another kiss on Aegon’s face, this time on his jaw. "Is it a mistake?" She moved again, doing her best to be as suggestive as she could.

"Technically—" His gaze couldn't tear away from her, specifically from her lips, which were slightly parted, almost as if inviting him to taste them. Alyssane shifted again, and Aegon’s grip on her hips loosened, allowing her to take the lead.

"But it doesn’t feel wrong."

In truth, it did feel very wrong, but that only fueled their desires in an oddly lustful way that they probably wouldn’t be able to articulate if they had to.

"Then what does it matter?" she asked, inching even closer to him as if it were impossible to get any nearer.

And those words were enough to untie any knot that had been holding his very flexible morality in place. He tilted his face just a few millimeters, immediately reaching Alyssane's lips, barely brushing against them as if asking for permission to continue; she pulled him closer and finally pressed their lips together.

It wasn't a delicate kiss; it wasn't laden with emotions. It sought to express nothing more than the pure desire that had ignited between them that night. Though perhaps it wasn't entirely new—more like a flame that had been smoldering within them for some time. After all, during the time they had lived together, it was impossible to deny that, at least once, both had featured in each other's fantasies.

Aegon's hands felt liberated as they finally roamed Alyssane's body without restraint. The first place he touched was her legs; the fair skin of the young Velaryon was exposed by the light silk dress she wore that night. His fingers sank sweetly into her thighs, eliciting a gasp from her. Taking advantage of her parted lips, Aegon moved his own directly to Alyssane's neck.

He slowly trailed his lips across her neck, then dared to let his tongue trace a path from her left collarbone to her chin and back again. Aegon's grip intensified, and he bit his lip, restraining himself from marking her as he desired.

“Do it,” she said simply, burying her hands in the silver strands of his hair. Aegon looked at her, questioning her decision. “If we're breaking the rules, let’s make it worth it.”

Aegon's gaze darkened, and a mischievous smile curled on his lips before he returned to assaulting the curve of her neck, sucking hard in places, leaving faint red marks that would surely shine in the morning light and eliciting soft moans from Alyssane's lips.

Aegon was quick to silence his niece's sounds, drowning them out with his own lips as he played with his tongue inside Alyssane's mouth. His already painful erection was imprisoned by his own clothes and the girl's weight on top of him, but he didn't want to release it now because the friction was delicious. His hands got lost under her dress and he was quick to lustfully grab her ass, squeezing it while forcing her to rub herself against him even more, feeling her warm wetness begin to soak his lap.

A smile crept between the kisses and he brought his hand to the front. The sensation of the lace on his fingertips was annoying, so he was quick to push the fabric aside looking for direct contact with her skin, his eager touch snatched a moan from her and he exhaled heavily when he felt her.

“Soaking wet already?” he asked in a mocking whisper, pulling back just to observe her reaction.

Alyssane frowned and was about to respond with some clever comment, but her words died in her throat when one of Aegon's fingers ran through her folds, drawing a sigh from her that she tried to silence by biting her lip.

“No, baby, let me hear you” he said firmly, his finger tracing the same path as before and this time a light gasp escaped from Alyssane's lips that made him smile sideways. “That's it”

His fingers moved expertly in her center and when she least expected it, she felt the intrusion of one of them. A small cry of pleasure filled the room and joined in a symphony with Aegon's gasps as he felt Alyssane's insides tighten around his fingers as she moved on top of him.

The tightness of the young woman was clear and he felt a shiver run through him as he imagined how she would feel around him, his lips parted and a moan escaped.

"How long has it been since you...?" His answer was interrupted by a wet kiss from the brunette.

"Before coming to Monaco," she replied between gasps, Aegon seemed scandalized by the answer and she rolled her eyes. "Not all of us are as promiscuous as you."

“Experienced. The word is...” he was interrupted again, this time by Alyssane's cold hand sneaking mischievously inside his pants, making him sigh immediately “Fuck...”

Her hand wrapped around his member and gave it a light squeeze, the movements of Aegon's hand sped up as well and soon they were both trying to match each other's rhythm, filling the room with lust-filled sounds that sweetened her ears.

Alyssane closed her eyes for a second when the sensations suddenly overwhelmed her, the way Aegon continued to move his fingers in and out was taking her to the limit, although in reality it was the fact of knowing that what they were doing was too forbidden that excited her the most.

Aegon was breathless, unable to contain the gasps escaping his lips, feeling a familiar tingle spread throughout his body; only then did he dare to remove his fingers from inside Alyssane to stop her from moving her hand around him as well.

“Hundreds of them...” Aegon growled, a similarly mischievous smile on his lips, his eyes shining with lust.

Alyssane let out a moan as she felt him take complete control, lifting his hips to meet hers, driving the rhythm faster, deeper. The thought that he needed her as much as she needed him made her body tremble.

And although the Velaryon’s words were decisive and carried a weight they would later have to confront, Aegon didn’t care in the slightest—or maybe he cared too much—but he decided he agreed with that sentiment, even if he didn’t fully understand why. He just knew that no matter how hard he searched, no one would be worthy enough to have her.

Caught in the heat of the moment and the suffocating yet sweet lust of knowing what they were doing was just for them, he resolved that he was worthy of it. He could care for her and please her; in recent days, he had proven he could provide for her, and now he was showing he could give her the pleasure that the fool who had her hadn’t wanted to offer.

“Don’t do it. Don’t look for anyone else.”

They were to blame for giving in and yielding so easily. But it felt good—not just physically; that night was the first in their lives when they didn’t feel completely empty. And that was enough for both of them.

I know I haven’t been active in a hot minute, and I’ve wanted to be; I even have some drafts. But life has been kicking my ass recently and I’ve been really down and not up to posting or trying to collect my thoughts. I want to do this album justice though because I know the stupid fandom won’t at this point and everyone is only screaming about the few sexual lyrics and missing the point of everything per usual. Maybe that’s just the salty asexual as me, but god there are more messages in this album than sex that should be given wayyy more attention like the fact that Namjoon has told everyone to fuck off when it comes to him smoking and him saying fuck you to the government that he’s not a diplomat. Anyway, I love the album. This is what I wanted from Joon minus my Frank feature that I will forever cry about not getting. This album really reminded me of the instrumental out of the box production and song structure of Tyler the Creator (I’m also a huge fan) and the amount of people in comments I’ve seen on social media being like who is that? have me dumbfounded. Yall please expand your horizons. I promise you can listen to other music besides BTS. Tyler is widely influential and such a cool artist not to mention that he is very popular. Of course not all fans live in America so I’m not talking about them necessarily, but if you live in the US, you should have heard of Tyler the Creator. To me it makes sense to listen to music adjacent and that was a clear inspiration. Namjoon recs his music taste all the time too, but I digress.

I’ll list my favorites from the album so far in no particular order. I’m a huge fan of the opening track. It’s funky and sets the tone for the record. Other than that, I love all the songs that we get hard hitting rapping from Joon. I love Nuts, Domodachi (shoutout Little Simz ily), out of love, Interlude, Groin. I do like the title track even though it’s not my favorite, but it really picks up halfway through. And I love the closer Come back to me. I feel like Namjoon let out of all his rage and frustration only to come back to himself at the end of the record, and in the context of the album as a whole, it’s even more meaningful and beautiful.

Since I’m in music circles with people who love artists who definitely influenced this record and featured on it like Little Simz, I am hoping that they give it a spin but not holding my breath. Regardless, I think Namjoon is amazing and I’m so glad that he gets to carve his own path as an artist and make the music that he wants to make.

Lastly, I can’t wait to see Joon and Mimi listen to this album. I bet they will have some introspective and deep conversations as well as a multitude of Jimin giggles from the amount of cursing and those sprinkles of the sexual lyrics that yall are just relentless about.

But here’s the deal: the void is mostly full of other writers who feel the exact same way, so they’ll GET IT.

Tags are your best friend—use relevant and popular ones for visibility. Example: if you’re writing a Jungkook fic, make sure you use ‘jungkook x reader’ ‘jungkook fic’ ‘jungkook fanfic’ and such, rather than ‘BTS’ or ‘jungkook’. Updating consistently (or faking it) helps too—even if you're slow, a semi-regular schedule keeps engagement up. If you have a buffer, you can post on a schedule. If not, I just lie to myself and pretend I have one.

Interacting with readers is key. People are more likely to keep up with a fic if they feel connected to the author. Be unhinged in the replies. It works. Your title and summary also matter more than we’d like to admit—a good summary doesn’t just explain the plot, it sells the vibes. Think of it like the fanfic equivalent of a thirst trap. And honestly? Be shameless about promotion. AO3 doesn’t have an algorithm, so cross-posting on Twitter (X? Ew.) or Tumblr can help.

I… do not have a beta reader, because I live on the edge. Also, I have trust issues (and ADHD, which means I reread my own chapters 50 times and still miss typos). If you want one, the best way to find them is through Discord writing groups, AO3 writing circles, or just screaming into the abyss on social media and seeing who responds. Some beta readers are just proofreaders, while others give in-depth feedback on plot, so find someone who matches your needs.

Circling back to Namjoon to say that while again, we don’t know who he’s dating, I think it’s very telling how the usage of things usually considered common knowledge within pop culture goes disregarded when it’s BTS related.

For example, Jungkook was once asked (although he shouldn’t have been) “Top or bottom?” and he answered, “Top.” Can it be said he wasn’t sure of the context? Yes, but at the same time, that is more of a reach than him just answering the question. It makes less sense to assume a man in his mid twenties, who grew up just as online as the rest of people in his generation, does not know what too or bottom means. They’re not unheard of terms in South Korea either, given how heavily they play a part in how queer male relationships are depicted on screen over there.

So with that example in mind, it kind of blows me how many people disregard an even more basic pop culture thing, by claiming Namjoon is completely naïve to what putting heart emojis over people’s faces tends to mean.

That is some of the most basic, normal ways to indicate a person means something to you, but particularly online it is often a signifier of being in a relationship or having romantic feelings for whoever is being covered up. So why would it be different for Namjoon? Especially because as far as I can recall, the only time he’s ever used a red heart was when fans were speculating about the guy from 2021.

He came online deadass in the middle of the drama and posted a photo with the heart over a man, and while I do not think the guy he chose was the same guy he’d been consistently posting about leading to the conversation at that time, I do think he did it for the laughs. I do think he did it to intentionally fuel the conversation, because he probably thought it was funny and watching us get another “clue” made him laugh. That said, I do also think the other guy whose build was much more consistent for a little bit, was likely his partner at the time. The same way I think the guy he used to post about on Weverse (or whatever app they used prior to IG) was his partner back then, because it was pretty consistent.

Now we jump to recent days, where he included an emoji which at the very least says, “I like this” over the face of someone who appears to be a man. And the caption to the series of posts that this is included in, is “just waiting for you.” And yes, he could be referring to a million and one things under the sun, but again, the reach is not people going, “Oh, he seems to be in a relationship again.” The reach is people trying to rip away the most basic way in which most of the world uses social media, because they don’t want Namjoon to be “mistaken” as queer.

It makes more sense for people to double down on saying this person is just a friend, thus implying Joon doesn’t know what emojis mean, despite the fact that we’ve seen him use other emojis to cover faces. As well, the song he attached seems to be about time passing, the same way the wall in his photo dump is.

So no, the person in question may not be someone he is romantically involved with, and could just be someone he is appreciative of for helping him move forward in life after a tough situation. At the same time though, the person in question could also just as easily be someone he’s dating, whom he feels has helped him move forward after a tough situation, and speculating/joking about them dating is not invasive.

As long as people don’t try and hunt the man down or hack into Joon’s personal devices or ask his public friends who the guy is, nothing will come from fans posting on social media about whether or not he has a boyfriend. Particularly not when he himself is publicly posting photos where he’s placed a heart over someone’s face. Namjoon is not stupid. He knows what this stuff means, same way he knows what comes from releasing music about his exes, or posting photos and captions on IG about shitty relationships. Just because he doesn’t confirm who he is or was dating, doesn’t mean he is uncomfortable with the topic of his love life now being public conversation. He quite literally responded to someone asking him who his girlfriend is or was on live, and said he didn’t have one. And that was during his peak, “Relationships are shit, people suck.” era.

Namjoon talks openly about having been in relationships, so it is not the place of any fan to decide which types of relationship he might have been in and is allowed to be speculated on. Not when he is the one who posted photos of these men, he is the one who said “We don’t have boyfriends or girlfriends.”, and he is the one who rapped, “She a pro-rider/He a pro-rider.” Yes, to some people that may point toward him being in straight relationships or being misunderstood in an interview, but to others the interpretation is he dates men and women.

Neither is right or wrong until he tells us it is, but he also doesn’t have to do that. We are not owed an answer on his sexuality, but speculating on who may have broken or mended his heart is not the same thing as demanding he out himself to confirm his potential queerness. He’s allowed to post whomever and write whatever lyrics he wants if the muse in question left a mark on him, and it’s not fair to dumb down his intelligence just because you’re afraid of said muse being a man.

Right, I'm back. I didn't post anything yesterday because I thought it's best not to rush. But it was indeed fascinating to see reactions in real time to the photo. Yes, I'm talking about the photo posted on IG of JM, JK and another person.

I think I must have read opinions that varied on a entire spectrum and expressed quite vehemently. It's safe to say everyone has really strong opinions and you either condemn it or you're totally fine with it, as long as you pick a side and don't question anything. In sitautions such as these, the tendency to add just a touch of conspiracy is right there. And it gets a pass when there's a lack of information, a language barrier, etc.

I too have my own questions and observations, to which I don't necesarily need an answer, but I'll just write them down.

1. I couldn't help but think of how deep the level of social media stalking is in this fandom. I looked up the account immediately as I saw a screenshot because initially there was confusion about the source. That guy made no previous photo uploads of either JM or JK. At a first glance, there is nothing to connect him to them. And still he had fan accounts following him, before it all blew up and he gained a lot more. My question is, how did that happen? Are there people who look up Jimin's followers list and they try to figure out if there's someone from an inner circle? In all those 50 million people? Do they check some select few accounts daily to see if there's a possibility of a post? The logistics of this are giving me a headache. Or maybe there's some obvious, easier answer and I don't know it.

2. Considering that the account is public, it's not like the photo is leaked. I don't know exactly the nature of the relationship that man has/had with JM & JK and I do not wish to make any speculation with regards to his intentions.

3. I think the outrage was mostly caused by jikookers bringing back to the surface that old photo under the heart arch. Which indeed paints a certain picture, but it's also not the most incriminatory thing out there. I don't think there's any real actual danger, considering that it was supposedly taken from Jungkook's dad Kakao talk. If that's true then it means the dad was ok with showing it.

3. What I personally believe should not have happened was to circulate that photo so easily on social media. People knew about it for a long time, even before someone posted it on I-Jikook twitter. But in cases like these, the photos will always be revealed. They will leave the group chats and out into the wild usually for a petty reason. Because at the end of the day, that's the issue. It has nothing to do with giving a shit about the people in the photo, it's about winning a shipping argument, about screaming "we won". Win what exactly???? It shows who is in it for the fantasy. No single argument could work for them. Replying on and on about deleting doesn't matter.

4. Maybe my last point, but this situation has revealed some things which were already known, but maybe not really articulated specifically all the time. As people not only part of the fandom, but also using social media 24/7, our ideas about privacy and what we should have access to when it comes to public figures has certainly been influenced by the current landscape. In the case of JM & JK particularly, they have been sharing pieces of themselves for more than a decade. It was the BH strategy, the BTS brand. It worked wonders because look at the huge fandom it gathered and the relationship that was built between idol and fan. Hell, Jungkook is doubling down heavy on it with his livestreams. How can anyone really expect a mass of people to really stop and think about privacy? We ourselves as regular people curate our social media image and we voice our opinions and share the places we go to, who are our friends, what parties we attended, when we get into a relationship. Every mundane or special occassion is posted for public consumption. I'm not saying this as some excuse that would justify sharing what looks like a private photo. What I'm saying is that it's to be expected in a way. As harsh as it is, but we live in this reality where the line between the public and private sphere is getting more invisible day by day.

What I think it's scary is that if there's a situation in which an actual compromising photo would somehow be leaked and which can be in the detriment of the people in it for various reasons, so called fans would still share it as proof. Because it doesn't matter for them. It's the high of finding it, of screaming about it on social media, without thinking for more than a second about possible implications. Everything needs to be done fast, regardless of consequences because people need to feed themselves with gossip and leaks.

I'm really just rambling here and not making too much sense. Anyway, I think we should always take a step back and really assess the situation and not scream about it, regardless of our position. Not everything is a threat, or privacy violation or putting people in danger, but it doesn't mean that it needs to be treated lightly as if it's no big deal (which usually comes from people who care more about their own safisfaction and feeling like a "winner").
