Yoongi always stays at the studio too late and this time Jimin was determined to stay awake

(Spoiler: he couldn't)

It was the third time this week that Yoongi had to stay late at the studio and Jimin was trying his best not to be bitter.

  

He understood that Yoongi had songs he needed to finish up. He understood that Yoongi's first love was music. He understood how it felt to be so enthralled by your art that hoh couldnt leave until ot was perfect.

He understood these things, yet Jimin couldn't help it, he was bitter.

He wanted Yoongi here, with him. In bed cuddling or cooking dinner while Jimin watched from the dining table. He didn't want to spend another night with yoongi away. He had already slept in their bed alone two nights in a row and wasn't looking forward to a third.

Jimin thought about going down to the company's headquarters, just to be around him, but then he remembered the last time he did that.

It was when they had just gotten together. Yoongi wasn't too happy about Jimin being there either. The older man tried not to let it show but Jimin saw right through Yoongi's kind words. He knew his presence was throwing Yoongi off. So Jimin knew better than to show up unannounced.

It did make him worry though, worry that Yoongi wasn't eating or that he was overworking himself.

He worries so much that it's hard for him to sleep the nights Yoongi is away.

But tonight, Jimin has a plan.

It came to him while he was getting takeout.

Jimin has tried to stay awake in the past until Yoongi came home but always gave up at around 2 a.m.

Well this time there is no giving up.

Now it's 3:27 a.m. and Jimin was on his fifth cup of coffee, with the lights on, huddled on the couch wrapped in the comforter that's usually in the guest room.

Every time his eyes start drooping Jimin knocks back some coffee and hopes to god he won't fall asleep. He really wants to greet Yoongi when he gets home this time.

But Jimin's eyes keep telling him no.

What else could he do? Ever since twelve o'clock he has been trying to find ways to keep himself awake. First it was learning new dances, girl and boy groups, then he tried doing a puzzle and he even brought out a cute bouquet Lego set he had been putting off.

Now he was here, binge watching a new kdrama, weilding his eyes not to shut.

But at around 3:45ish Jimin couldn't keep himself upright anymore. He gave in and lay down on the couch. It didn't mean he was going to sleep though! He was just laying down is all. Resting if you will!

But soon he started thinking about Yoongi. About how the older man feels curled up against him, head on his chest, legs tangled with his, and his arms wrapped around his waist. How Yoongi's breath goes even right before he falls asleep and his eye lids fluttering when he is fighting off sleep. About how he would always tell Jimin goodnight, whether he was with him or not.

Before Jimin realized what happened his eyes were shut and he was drifting off to sleep with the thought of Yoongi.

Yoongi hated being away from Jimin. He loved him more then anything else, even more than music. Yoongi wasn't fond of the nights he had to stay at the studio and away from his boyfriend. He didn't like when he came home and Jimin was already asleep. He missed holding him and being held by him right when they were drifting off to sleep.

But songs don't put themselves together and, with this new boy group the company wants to debut soon, Yoongi was busier then ever. He had to have practically a whole album done by the end of this month, which is only about ten days away. So he has had to stay here, in his little makeshift living room and studio, while he finishes it.

When the time finally reaches 5 in the morning Yoongi stands, the joints in his knees feeling like rusted metal. He grabs his coat and puts the three microwaveable ramen cups in the trash along with countless paper coffee cups.

Yoongi locks his door as he leaves his studio and makes his way home, only a ten minute walk from the company. As he walks the streets of Seoul he sees the beginning of the sunrise and his excitement to see his sleeping beauty grows. Yoongi can't wait to get into bed with the love of his life and hold him close.

He makes his way to their apartment and opens the door to hear the T.V. playing at an unreasonably loud noise. He walks to the living room and quickly turns the thing off and turns around to see Jimin curled up in the guest bedrooms blanket fast asleep with a cup of now cold coffee sitting on the table and various items scattered around the room.

Yoongi smiles to himself at how precious Jimin looks asleep but then sighs and goes over to his boyfriend. Not wanting to wake him, Yoongi scoops the lump that is his boyfriend up into his arms and walks him to their bedroom.

Yoongi lays Jimin down as carefully as he can and starts to change from his white button up and black tie to something more comfortable. He just finishes untying his tie when Jimin turns in bed to look at him with sleepy eyes.

"Yoongi?" He slurs his speech just the slightest.

Yoongi turns around to look at him, a small smile on his lips, "Yes my sleeping beauty?"

Jimin furrows his eyebrows, sleepy and confused, "I tried staying up. I really did. I wanted to be awake when you got home. I- I don't remember coming in here."

Yoongi gets into bed after changing, "You did so good baby. I think you almost made it. When I got home you were asleep on the couch."

Jimin pouts, "I really tried to stay awake. I hate it when you stay late."

"I do too sunshine."

Jimin snuggles in closer to Yoongi, "then stop. Come home early and be with me."

Yoongi has to hold in his laugh, Jimin probably wouldn't remember any of this with his tired he is.

"I will baby. I don't like being away from you. Now let's sleep."

Yoongi never stayed past 12 o'clock in his studio ever again after that.

The convenience store date

I hate it when he leaves me in the bed and leaves for work. How am I supposed to get a good morning kiss or goodbye kiss? Like today, when he left me just with a note.

Huh, how can he be like that. Taking care of me even from office. Scoffing I shower and get down for my beloved sandwich that my boyfriend left for me. Even the sandwich is betraying me. While eating the sauces dropped on my shirt making a big mess. Growling I finish up the sandwich and get upstairs to change the outfit and waste another 30 minutes on choosing the outfit.

The day wasn't in my favor. First, the sauces, then the subway, then the late mark, and now the meeting.

The bad luck kept following me throughout the day. The final verdict of the meeting was that we need to work some more on the project handed over to our team. Everything was mess here there. Knicks and knacks were coming out of everywhere.

Looked like we had some more debugging to do on the software's source code.

Moreover when I needed him he was not picking up on my phone. But I get it, he and I both have a busy day today. It's just that I need to hear his voice. Kinda calms me down.

Lunch time approached but I had nothing packed so I needed to order something. Which will need some time to get delivered! Now I get it, this is my fault. I should have ordered it earlier but it slipped out of my mind.

At the end, it arrived before 20 minutes of lunch break getting over. Thank God atleast 20 minutes. Opening the brown bag I dug out the food. Ugh, yummy food.

It was getting darker outside but I was not ready to give up on this shit. The section was not getting tackled. Every single of us tried to solve it but couldn't get it out. Growling we decided not get out of the office without solving this problem.

Every single of us working on this got me feeling better. Team work makes dream work. Everyone scattered here and there trying to get it had me chuckling.

Ended up solving the problem by 8:47. Everyone hives, fiving each other fixed up my day. A little bit. It's just a little bit.

Now this rain. Ugh I hate my-

Keeping the bag over my head, somehow I sprinted over to the bus station. Praying for getting a bus as early as possible. Couldn't find a bus that could reach my stop but the one I got on was leaving me near my stop.

Deciding not to stop on spot, I hopped in desperately. Atleast not suffering from rain.

Now that my stop arrived I regret my decision of taking another bus. Atleast it would have dropped me in from of my house.

Before even I get down. I cover my head with my bag and get down. The intensity of rain raised which made covering my head useless.

Somehow after walking for like 2 minutes, I no longer rain pouring on me. Even tho the rain was there still. I see up to look clouds, to find my boyfriend holding an umbrella over my head. That moment felt so magical.

"Hi baby!" There comes his signature smile, his deep voice. Oh, the Satisfaction I get after a long day to his face smiling at me. I could never get used to this. "Why did get off from the bus at this stop?"

Without answering I straight up hug him. The wholesome moment that made me forget the entire bothersome day. The day clearly was a nightmare but it had a night full of happiness.

"Did my baby had a hard day?" Slowly he caressed my hair which soothed me instantly. I could not love this moment more now. Sighing contently I had ended up hugging him for good 4-5 minutes. And he did not utter a word from his mouth cause' he knew i needed this.

"What will you eat?" 

His voice distracted my thoughts. He was looking at me with curiosity while I was just blankly staring at him. "Huh?" Looking at my confused face he chuckled and squeezed my cheeks.

Bet my cheeks are red.

"I said what do you wanna eat?"

"I don't know, you tell me!"

"Clearly we aren't in the mood to cook and not in the clothes for a fancy restaurant. The convenience store food sounds good?"

"Yeah!"

Enthusiastically, he sprinted towards the direction of the store right before us. He pretty likes to eat Ramen and have coke with it. So I guess he is gonna choose that right away.

When I enter the store, he was choosing the ramen. "Baby, I am confused! Shin Ramen or the jjapagetti one?" Look at the pout. He is the one who should be called baby.

"I think the shin ramen will be spicy for you, and you like jjapagetti, right?"

Nodding he chose the jjapagetti ones. Easy to convince, isn't he? Next when we turned to the juice section. He chose the Fanta. "Today no coke?"

"Nah, imma chose this. Kinda bored with it." His spectacles don't hide his sparkling eyes. Another attractive feature of him. I could admire him for the rest of my life.

Kinda looks like exaggeration but not really.

After a while, we find ourselves a suitable table. Laying our food and start eat. He as always carefully blowing the food to cold it a lil bit and then taking a bite of it. Just my Adorable bubba.

"This is kinda date, isn't it?" He speaks before taking the bite of meat. "Except this isn't a fancy restaurant and we aren't dressed that good. Look at us, half wet clothes."

"I think it's perfect. A convenience store date!"

author's note: I had a sudden idea about writing some headcanons Camp Halfblood demigods being claimed and what it's like for each respective god and cabin, followed by a small blurb afterwards. When you arrive at camp, you’re already got eyes following you. There’s something about you that draws people’s eyes to you. It could be your face, your hair, your eyes, your hands when they move, how you walk, how you move. So when you get claimed by Aphrodite, your fanfare is totally expected by others and unexpected when you get a magical makeover by your godly mother’s blessing. You’re dressed to the nines, your look done up perfectly like you're a movie star walking on the red carpet. People stare at you with awe and you can feel it.

The moment you are shown the Cabin, all you can think of is “Oh god it’s a god dang barbie mansion”; this may either fulfill your deepest childhood dream or your worst nightmare.

There’s gossip everywhere in the cabin. You’re hearing about people’s love lives, social interactions, and everything about the people in camp. Even if you’re not as romantically inclined yourself, you’re practically spoiled for choice for hearing about drama. There may be no TV or shows for you to watch, but this is the next best thing. It’s like the Kardashians, House Wives, and Golden Girls all the same.  

Shipping. So much shipping. Shipping between campers in your cabin and outside the cabin. Shipping between movie stars to literal characters. Heck, even self-shipping is encouraged! It’s a shipper's galore. 

The Aphrodite cabin likes to have fashion runs. A lot of the Aphrodite demigods become models and do a catwalk. But if you’re not that interested in being a model, there are still ways to participate. 

If you like to design and make your own clothes, the Aphrodite cabin has your back. You have access to all types of fabrics, patterns, and materials you could need. You have no shortage of models for you to work with. If you’re interested in doing make-up, cosmetic or movie makeup,  you have plenty of people to practise on. Even if children of Aphrodite have the ability to have permanent makeup and whatnot, it doesn’t mean you still can’t use your skills to be on fleek. 

You know the meme where you see a woman putting eyeliner with the sword to make sure it's sharp? You see that way too often.

You're swiftly proven that functionality being sacrificed for fashion is a myth. It can be done and it has been done, but it's just some outweigh functionality with AESTHETICS

Stans. Stans everywhere. People don’t usually see the Aphrodite kids fight and break character unless it comes to their stan. If you haven’t seen them fight before, you do now. You’re still reeling from the BTS stans.

K-dramas. K-pop. Enough said. 

You look at yourself as best as you could, it was both familiar yet foreign.  It was like looking at the mirror, seeing yourself and all the positives of your body. Even if you had a negative view of yourself, it was gone and changed.  

A girl stepped up, her black hair swaying, and you looked at her in awe as she smiled at you. “Hi! My name is Silena Beauregard, welcome to Cabin 10!” 

“Oh hi” you said lamely, but before you could say anything further, you saw a large amount of pink in your vision. “Oh my god” you couldn’t help uttering as soon as your eyes laid on the Aphrodite cabin. It was pink in glory, and all you can think was that it was a true to god barbie house. 

“Ah yeah,” said Selina, “Welcome to the Barbie house.”

“Wait it’s really called that?” 

“Well, we really shouldn’t be calling it a Barbie house, but ... .I do admit it is pretty much a barbie house” Selina whispered in the last part. 

You couldn’t help snicker and Selina gave you a knowing smile and wink, before she led you to the door.

“You ready?” she asked. 

“Ready as I’ll ever be” you replied after taking a deep breath. 

“Don’t worry, I’ll be here for every step of the way” she reassured and you smiled back. As soon the door opened, there was a waft of perfume. It wasn’t particularly strong or particularly bad, in fact it made you happy, but you could smell it anyways. There was a twinge of emotion that stirred up in you; it reminded you of smelling a perfume that reminded you of home and love…for some reason, you had a flash of a woman holding you to her chest and you burying your nose into her, your eyes closing with warmth.

“Hey everyone, let me introduce you to our new half-sibling!” introduced Selina, gently putting a hand on your shoulder. You raised your hand and waved, introducing yourself. That was all it took before the flood work came. Immediately, all the inhabitants in the cabin begun to interview you from where you were from, your favourite colour, your favourite colour, band, and etc-

Your head was absolutely swimming but as you all talked to each other, sharing your likes and dislikes, you had a feeling you were going to be alright.

I noticed that jkkrs on tumblr seem to be more than tkkrs on tumblr. Our posts usually get hundreds of likes too while tkkrs’s only manage a few dozens. Why do you think that is even though tkkrs dominate other platforms like twitter, instagram, TikTok and YouTube?

That’s a great question anon and just like you, I did notice that too.

My answer may seem a little biased since I am a joker but it is what I really believe based on everything I’ve seen after being in this fandom for so many years.

Jikookers love to discuss and have long deep conversations about Jikook and ships in general which helps them understand things better. Taekookers love screenshots, especially those they can take out of context to either create moments for their ship or drag Jikook (the ship and Jimin). Twitter, YouTube, TikTok and instagram aren’t social media platforms that allow long, deep creative discourse with enough context to help people understand things better so they thrive by posting edits and screenshots taken out of context and they get thousands of likes more than jikookers while many tkkrs don’t seem to be very interested in actually going deep into conversation about ships because they already believe what they believe and don’t want anything to change that.

You see anon, Jikook spaces used to be more healthy and peaceful than they have become in the last couple of years and I feel like Jikookers actually had a good basis to start shipping Jikook unlike other shippers who mostly start shipping because of aesthetics or just cute edited moments of the ships. I think out of all BTS ships, Jikookers were one of the very first ones who brought discussions about ships to tumblr and many Jikookers loved having those conversations here while other shippers preferred Twitter, YouTube and the rest for more fast paced and less detailed discussions.

If you notice, it is quite hard for a jokers to beat the cult in an argument on Twitter and when I say beat them I don’t mean by being right or wrong but instead in the term of likes and interactions. A tkkr could post a very obviously fake or twisted edit or screenshot and they would get over a dozen thousand likes. A tkkrs could post an out of context screenshot to drag Jikook and they get thousands of likes and replies but it’s rarely the same for a joker on X but on tumblr when we have our little conversations with enough context, we get tons of interactions than the cult because many more jkkrs actually love to discuss about Jikook and not just rely on edits or out of context screenshots.

The tkk blogs I’ve seen on tumblr are in my opinion some of the nicest tkkrs I’ve ever come across and this is saying a lot because I don’t even think they are that nice. I just think they are nicer than what I am used to seeing on other apps and they could be a little less delusional even though they are still very very delusional and just like their brothers and sisters on X and the other platforms, are so good at taking things out of context. A good example of how they take things out of context or twist things to fit their narratives is that article from Bang PD from The New Yorker. I was so shocked that not a single one of them actually got the context right. All of them interpreted what Bang PD said about the group members taking trips to be about Jikook just because we just watched AYS recently even though he was actually specifically referring to Katseye, plus BTS as a group and other groups under Hybe/ Bighit have been on multiple group trips throughout their years as idols yet they decided to make it about Jikook since that was a way they could feel better about AYS since apparently they didn’t like what they saw in the show. Just like the blind leading the blind with not a single person to direct them to the right path.

To put everything in short, tumblr is favored by fans who enjoy deep, creative engagement, while Twitter and the others attracts those who thrive on fast-paced, real-time interactions. This alone should pretty much explain how most jkkrs are and how most tkkrs are.
