When returning home Osamu was met with a rather… Unfamiliar face, at least at first. Or so he had pretended at least because in the end he had managed to put two and two together. It didn’t take long to guess who this unfamiliar looking figure was. And yet he still wanted to have at least a bit of fun here. Because if he just walked up and said it out loud… Where would be the fun in that? There would be none at all, would there? 

So he acted all in shock and surprise when having a certain sight in front of him, letting out an over dramatic gasp, as if the sight had taken him aback, in an eternal shock, as if he had just been backstabbed and cheated on. He backed to the door, leaning right against it while pretending to look in massive shock, terror even. Though it was clearly masking his true thoughts on the sight. 

Right in the small room he shared with Ann was the one in question, sitting down with someone’s head on their lap. This someone was busy purring while feeling her fingers right through his hair it seemed, his ears wagging non stop. A boy with long, black hair, though the insides seemed to be some gray–ish white. And a few of the strains of his hair were right in his face, being rather long as well. He wore a gray cardigan jacket too big for him, his arms hidden beneath his sleeves. Same for his pants, hiding if he even wore shoes to begin with. Not just that but he also had cat ears and a cat tail which were constantly moving around. If it had not been for that he could have passed as a human like any other. But that was not the case whatsoever. Though it was endearing in its own right. 

What added to the endearing sight was the male rolling around the lap. Not just anyone’s lap but Ann’s, resting in that soft one with no visible regrets. If it had been anyone else resting their head in there maybe there would have been an even bigger scene. Or would there have been? In any case that was no excuse to hold back and he didn’t feel like doing so. Thus in the end he put on the usual overdramatic act by letting out an overly loud gasp and stumbling backwards, right against the door, staring at the scene in visible terror… Said terror being anything but genuine but where was the fun in not overreacting?

“Ah– A… Ann–Chan!? Haven’t we talked about  other men in this place!?” He asked, sounding rather loud on purpose which had gotten the attention of the duo, turning to the door. And the moment they did Osamu held his hands both in front of his chest, as if in physical pain and about to drop down onto his knees at any moment. “To have my trust betrayed like this… And here I thought that we had something special going on. Ah… The pain… It’s too much! How cruel of you… I… I think I’m fainting. This is it… Yeah, this has to be it… I’m… About to…”

“Finally biting the dust? Was about time.” Ann only said however, her voice coming out dry. It felt like a literal stab into the chest, him being so close to bleeding here… Metaphorically that is yet her words would maybe cut deep under any other circumstance or for anyone else. Honestly he just found it ridiculous and it was so hard for him to hold back and not burst out in laughter. But he had an act to keep up with, no matter what! So stay in character! For now that is!

“Oh! Your words… Why don’t you just ram a knife into my chest while you’re at it!?” He continued, finally dropping onto his knees, holding tighter onto his chest while almost hunching on the ground, having leaned a little forward already. It was as if he was completely weak at this moment. “Your words hurt already… Just grab a knife and finish me off!”

“Wha–”

“And don’t forget to accompany me! After all, a dou–”

“Don’t even finish that! No way!”  Needless to say, just with a few lines he had her completely worked up and it was a joy to see. Oh the grin he thought of having in the end… This situation was priceless! Oh he was so close! Just to the fi– 

“Ann–Neesan would never.” Osamu heard a rather unfamiliar voice say. If he had to guess it was one of a… Teenage boy? Yeah. Nothing like a kid but not quite an adult either, something in between. And when he lifted his head up to look at who it was, into the direction, the guy with the cat ears spoke up and he suddenly had a tight grip onto the young woman, to the point he came off as rather protective. It was as if he was playing shield or something, all while wearing a slight pout. “And I won’t let you!”

“O… Ole, I–” She was about to say yet Osamu pretended as if that had gotten his curiosity and he was getting closer… While still being on all of his fours.

“Ole? That guy?” He asked yet he had figured as much. Something just told him that this cat guy was none other than the protective kitty following the young female brunette all over the place. Actually, the signs were all there. Just funny that from his face he could pass as a younger Karl. Maybe that part was just a funny coincidence or something. “He sure has grown~”

“I always had that form.” The boy huffed, not letting go of the young woman. “Anyways, if you want to get to Ann–Neesan you will have to get past me first!” All completed with a sharp glare which… Looked more cute on him than anything. Yep, that was the little kitty Osamu was more than used to. And he was still as irresistibly cute as ever. If Ole somehow scored all the ladies he came across… Who’d complain if a cat was winning that competition? He had the natural advantage here!

“Oh my, how scary~ I’ll watch out from now on~” The man decided to joke along while reaching out with one of his hands to the head of the little boy, wanting to do one simple thing. But this was met with a sudden gasp from… Ann?

“Wait Dazai, don’t–” Yet she could not finish. The moment he did he saw it himself, a bright blue light filling the room and once it disappeared… There was… The black and white cat again? 

“Huh? Wait, that was an Ability?” He asked yet putting on a smile of embarrassment when he thought it over, then chuckling nervously. “Haha, of course it is. A reverse from Atsushi–Kun’s, isn’t—”

“MEOW!” It would echo angrily all of a sudden and before knowing it cat Ole pounced on him and started hitting him with his paws yet again. Even made Osamu fall over, making it hard to get rid of the kitten on his face.

“Ah– Ey, it wasn’t on purpose! Calm do– Ow! Ey! Quit it! I said– Ow ow ow!” But no use, this was a losing battle.

And yet, who knew that little Ole had such an Ability of his own. It will be lots of fun seeing him grow! Just a shame that Osamu will never be able to give that form any type of headpats, let alone hug Ole that way. And Osamu really wanted to know how fluffy those ears were… A shame but what can you do?

This is my answer so I'm totally cheating and recommending two

First is the transfem gojo series by this super cool writer @forest-hashira I'm not sure if you've heard of them but they're wonderful and amazing and so incredibly talented. All of the transfem gojo fics are so sweet and I'm in love with them (transfem gojo is a pretty princess and I want to paint her nails and braid her hair)

Second is @peachdues - peach is so incredibly talented and her fics regularly have me losing my mind (she also put up with me screaming in her tags on a regular basis). Everyone should go read her fics, it's an experience you won't regret!!!

🎲 what stops you writing more in your free time?

Motivation usually. I always WANT to write but by the time I'm done with work, I'm exhausted or miserable and I just want to zone out. I've got plenty of ideas, I just struggle to actually turn them into fics

🐇 do you prefer writing original characters, reader inserts or a mix of both?

For a LONG time, all I wrote was OCs. Almost every fandom I've joined, I made an OC for. It's only in the last few months that I've started writing reader insert and honestly, I love both. My OCs will always have a special place in my heart, and I love reader insert because it encouraged me to branch out a little and it's meant that I've met so many wonderful people.

I am 15, I like write smut usually but I can write something wholesome (if it's angst is requested I'll try, I'm not good at it). If you request something and it's not posted in like.. two days (maybe three) 10/10 I'm either still working on it or I lost the motivation to do it, it will get done at some point. Just bare with me please. All I do is write fanfics and little stories, all of my writing up here will be in the first person which can be the readers pov or your oc. A warning I write how I would want it to go if I was in the reader's shoes, so if it doesn't fit how you want it to go I'm sorry :'(. i'll answer this one with bsd with my ability user reader/oc in mind... i think they'd improve the course of the story and fasten the process of some events. def being a support mentally and in terms of development... perhaps if i was there atsushi wouldnt be so dependent to dazai and such a pawn in his every plan LOL

with togame i'd nag his head off and berate him from the start on his approach on the choji situation lmaoo if he loves me enough to listen (or fear my threats...) that could change the trajectory of shishitoren events and therefore the big showdown between them and bofurin wouldnt happen.... so uh yea.. i do still think him and sakura would have a moment of,,, wtv they got going though lol

his ability is called lucy locket! i actually came up with the ability's function first, and then i found that it fit pretty well. basically its a pocket dimension accessed via the users pockets. so far it has infinite storage, but whatever is added or removed at the present moment has to have been able to fit in the pocket originally. so you cant add/remove a large waterbottle from tiny jean pockets, for example. i like to think it only works when august himself pulls something out or puts something in. so. yknow. "not a penny was there in it, only ribbon round it". hehe

he likes goldfish (hence the socks and earrings), rice (its rice), and hats (because they are so neat)! i was thinking about funny sock patterns and then i was looking at the wiki page for catherine maria fischer (the supposed kitty fisher in the nursery rhyme) and one of her paintings had a fishbowl in it. and then i thought about yoimiya because i had been drawing her before and. yknow. he definitely does has a small hat collection, but he'd rather them not be damaged at work. theyre saved for parties and formal gatherings!

dislikes are long explanations, pollen (allergy 😔), and unpleasant textures (like bedsheets that give you the Feeling when you scratch them). he likes it when people get to the point, and im projecting my own sensory issues onto him hxjsj

starting with the shirt, its actually based on one of the shirts i own. it's got the solid torso and the loose sheer sleeves, and i thought that was neat! though for him i think the sleeves would be a bit more opaque, and he's wearing a vest!

as for the tie you can see i noted that it's a bit of a cross between a criss cross tie and like... a sailor tie? i know it says bolo but thats because the word i was looking for was Tie Brooch for the pendant in the middle.

the cargo shorts!!! so obviously to best use his ability august needs something with rather large pockets, but i didn't know how to add those in. initially i wanted to go with some tights or normal slacks and have him wear a hoodie, but it was kind of... eh? so i tried cargo pants but those didn't work either. so then i tried on shorts and i Realized what needed to be done fhdjjws

knee high socks! i asked what how silly we should get with them and eni said knee highs and nobody said ankle with silly patterns so i combined the two! i think the combination is really funny.

the shoes! theyre just sneakers. comfy!

So um this is my first ask ever so I’m a bit unsure bout things but I’m just gonna babble haha

I first found you through ao3 when only the first chapter of badlands was released and immediately got hooked, the writing was so good and I was soo ready for future chapters and then I saw the line “always end in tragedy.”

…😳 what did I get myself into?!! Haha but it ended happy!? I was like huh wasn’t this a doomed romance, but it ended pretty well and then unreal unearth came out and- oh I see what you meant now. Badlands whispered sweet nothings into my ear and push me gently into satin silks only for Unreal Unearth to German suplex me into the bed of nails that was hidden under the silks all along (BUT IN A GOOD WAY, in a good way??) The wasabi to the cake was finding out in UU that Badlands actually had a sad ending post credit, …OH THEY DOOMED DOOMED (THEY WERE SO CLOSE TO BEING MARRIED djshdkek 😭😭😭)

I reallly love fanfic writers like cause reading their works just remind me of the affections i felt for the characters and the series like how to I say this hahah like i first watched bsd a few years ago when i started getting into anime and i just found this series on Netflix and was like oh this looks interesting. They only had season 1 and afterwards I got into the series for a while as i really like the concept of detectives with superpowers haha but my interest was kinda basic like I wasn’t in deep, my only knowledge was s1, didn’t even read the manga haha, and just read some fanfics, and than after a while i moved on to other series.

But earlier this year when i was looking through my bookmarks and i came across this old bsd fanfic, it was just a oneshot so i was like lemme reread it why not and THAT basically change everything haha, reading it just remind me of why i loved these characters and the adventures they had and I sorta re-fell in love with bsd again and wanted to go rewatched the series and actually go read the manga haha and found out oh they have 5 seasons now, a parody manga , light novels? , stage plays??! and even a ACTUAL CANON AU ( oh beast, why beast🥹) like there’s so much content haha like there’s 5 different manga ??!! Like I left bsd when it was just goofy detectives adventures only to return to a vampire apocalypse and world ending fidget spinner??!! and I also realised that all the characters are named after actual authors and their abilities are after their works like that is soo coool, it’s kinda weird but cool which is kinda what bsd, weird in a fun way? Haha

Lowkey the reason why I watched some anime is cause I’ve read some fanfic with no knowledge of the actual canon and was like this fanfic was so goood let me go check out the source material hahha, me finding anime recommendations through fanfic✌️hahha like it wasn’t the anime or manga that brought me into the fandom but someone’s godamn incredible fic, haha and i think your fanfics is like that, like if I didn’t know about bsd before, after reading your works, I’ll be ready to jump right in no question asked ma’am. Mann I thought I already love this character as much as I could but after reading your fanfics , apparently falling harder is something I’m capable of haha like I feel a bit embarrassed writing all of this but I really looveee your works they are just so goood, reading each new series you have just sorta makes me refall in love with dazai again and again, even if I get hurt by the angst I just can’t help but go back haha

Do you have any advice for writing? 👉👈 cause I’ve been thinking about writing my own fanfics, got some oc ideas in my notes but never really gotten around on that haha so would you have advice for a first timer 🙏🙏🙏

AHHHHH okay!! so waterloo reader in uu & badlands canon does NOT have an ability, she is truly a civilian. but in the last chapter of uu, dazai alludes to there being universes out there where she somehow ended up with the port mafia when he ended up elsewhere (ada, civilian, government) and in those universes, she DID develop an ability. i haven't fleshed it out yet, but whether or not her ability manifests is triggered by an event that happens with her brother (iceman) when she's like 13/14 ish

against popular opinion, i don't feel that soobin should not not go to JK. At the end of the day, he is still is. He may be a bad business man, or a bad best friend, but he didn't seem that bad of a dad in chapter 11. Let's not forget that the old JK isn't completely dead. He is very much alive; just hidden under layers of regret, guilt, remorse and of course, never ending debt. All he needs is a trigger to break out. It doesn't intentionally mean getting together with OC. It could even start with getting a good paying job and some therapy. He could pretty much build on top of that.

That said, Soobin doesn't have to leave OC either. They(or she? not quite sure) grew him up so they have all the right too. So all in all, I feel they should co-parent him with Jungkook, and involve Jangmin if needed.

Yet, I do not believe my opinion to be worth agreeing with. It is extremely controversial so I understand if you don't but know that I respect yours too <3

In the end, I feel there are still many storylines yet to unfold. Secrets of the past, confusion of the present and fears of the future. All we can do is wait :))

THIS.IS.THE.MOST.ON.POINT take on JK’s character. i said before that this is a soukoku fanfic where JK is originally Dazai Osamu of bsd (and it just makes sense that his personality is like this without me having to explain it. [[the contrast in comments i receive regarding baggage!jk and baggage!dazai are glaring. in baggage!jk i often get ask about you guys being unhappy with JK (and i get it. he’s frustrating) but i do believe his reactions are natural considering what he went through (not the pseudo-cheating/cheating tho)

meanwhile, the comments i get about baggage!dazai are mostly them saying they understand and that he is bound to react like that because he is wired like that canonically.

JK (dazai) is enigmatic and is hiding his true emotions under many many layers of his bandages. <<yes in bsd world, the canon dazai osamu wears bandages all over his body on a daily basis>> and whenever i write a chapter, i have to delete some scenes when i am converting it into a JJK one, so i guess this is on me. (in my defense, the deleted scenes are only fit to dazai’s personality>> but the JK i am striving to show in baggage!jk is someone who has given up about his previous roles in life after multiple failures: being a friend, a lover, and a businessman. ((one cannot force that this shouldn’t happen. we all have different ways to cope with failures and it just happens that JK’s reaction is to stop trying. is this right? perhaps, perhaps not. we cannot give one correct answer especially if we didn’t get to experience what he went through))

but in the latest chapters, we see him trying to reclaim what he lost before. (baby steps that some people might find boring.) we have to know that JK lost so many things, but being a father is not something he lost—it’s something he only discovered recently. (let’s see how he’d do and we can judge after)

i’ve some time this week, so i am racking my brains to see how i can finally reveal what happened to JK in the past and how to make the scenes unfold as naturally as possible. :)
