Hello! So first, I want to thank everyone who read the Wayne pilot I made :) I appreciate your feedback, and I love you all.

As I'm preparing to post it on AO3, I decided to make a few (admittedly small) changes to the script, primarily around Cassandra Cain, because I haven't quite fleshed her out yet.

I don't have much experience with writing Cass, so I decided to do a bit of research on her yesterday, and wouldn't you know? I fell in love. 10/10. She didn't play a huge part in the pilot, but she will have a bigger one in the second episode, and there are a few things I think can or should be added so she doesn't feel too one-note.

There wasn't anyone who told me this, by the way. (In fact, I actually got some nice comments about her so thank you.) I just had it in the back of my mind while writing, and now that Cass is getting more screen time, I'm finding that my lack of knowledge might lead to mischaracterization.

SO TO COMBAT THIS, I MADE A GUIDE FOR MYSELF ON HOW TO WRITE CASS

Is this overkill? Probably Think of it as a silly headcanon list for my version of her. And I'm posting it here because I want your feedback before it's set in stone. (I know Cass isn't written well a lot, so this is my attempt to right these horrid wrongs.)

She does appear behind the camera crew to scare them on purpose, she thinks it’s funny, she likes seeing them freak out

She is super competitive, but she's always like "Oh I'm not that competitive" *proceeds to be very competitive*

Because she isn't super confident in her writing or speaking (or just uncomfortable communicating without seeing the other person's body language) she prefers to Facetime or simply reply to texts with selfies of her reaction. It is a thing now. when you need an honest opinion about an outfit, text a photo to Cass. She will either give back a photo of a thumbs up or a photo of a grimace and some not-so-flattering emojis

Her princess persona is her public cover persona in this show, parallel to Bruce’s “Brucie” and Dick’s “born for the cameras” thing

Is surprisingly vocal (and sometimes snippy) about her distaste with things but she mostly gets a pass because her morals align best with Bruce’s

Is most snippy when her family uses methods other than violence when violence is clearly the faster option, god they're such pacifists

Is the best fighter, none of this “oh she’s the best fighter so when people do win against her, it makes them look cooler” thing, shut tf up, she could break their bones (not important to the show ofc but I need to add this because it is important in general)

Horrible at drawing, wretched (again a headcanon but I did see someone else mention it somewhere)

Also bad at writing, refuses to study to improve out of principle (i.e. she told Babs she doesn’t need to and now she refuses to admit Babs was right)

(AND SIDE-HEADCANON IF SHE IS HORRIBLE AT WRITING AND ACTIVELY HATED STUDYING HER ALPHABET THEN WHAT IF LIKE ONE DAY SOMEONE SAYS “hey can you grab me one of these files from last week’s case, it’s under M” SHE’S LIKE “fuck you, how could you do this to me” WHILE SEARCHING FOR M OR MORE SIMPLY *throws something at them*)

That's all I have right now. If you'd like to give me any recommendations, please do. I can't promise I'll add in every single one because this show is still about the whole Batfam, not just her, but I want to do her justice, and that definitely involves more fine-tuning on my part

Do you have any idea when the Wayne fortune changed from Bruce being a millionaire to a billionaire? I’ve been watching BTAS since it’s on Netflix and I noticed that the amount of money is not adding up to what I remember the Wayne fortune being in either the Nolan movies (this one is iffy since it’s been a while) or the more recent Rob Patt’s Batman adaption.

Do you suppose it’s to do with the rising fame and general “positive” celebrity of fan-bro described “genius billionaire gurus” like Bill Gates, Elon Musk, etc?

oh it's because being a millionaire simply Does Not carry the same implication of bottomless wealth that it did when Batman was created. you have to remember Brucie baby is a product of the Great Depression; the billionaire was a very recent concept (John D. Rockefeller, often called the first billionaire, "achieved" that status in 1916) and a million dollars was Very Different in 1939 than it is now. don't get me wrong, it's still a lot of money and millionaires are doing way better than The Average Person, but the cultural context has changed greatly.

it's also notable that the amount of money necessary to fund being Batman has changed drastically over the years. at his creation Bruce was fundamentally a jazzed up detective with some fancy gadgets, but as the decades went on and Batman become more high tech (and, frankly, more militarized) it would have been obvious to any writer with even the slightest interest in plausibility that Bruce's fortune would need to be in the billions rather than the millions, especially if you factor in that he's also (sometimes) funding the Justice League partially or in full. Bruce being a millionaire just isn't sufficient to make the fantasy believable anymore; he needs more money! if Detective Comics Comics is still alive and kicking in another century I wouldn't be surprised if he's reclassified as a trillionaire.

A/N: first brucie fic, he's been one of my first crushes and now i get to imagine him as robert pattinson which is a total win for me not gonna lie.

"It's you who's been doing all the murals around Gotham, isn't it?"

You lifted your head just enough to peek at Bruce Wayne, owner of the Wayne enterprises, incredibly handsome billionaire, standing just a few feet away from you. You returned your gaze to the canvas in front of you, paintbrush in hand.

"Perhaps, it depends." You said, narrowing your eyes to add the tiny details; the crinkles in his shirt, straining over his arms, his icy blue eyes, both freezing and warming you from so far away, his dashing raven hair, slicked back oh so perfectly.

"On what?" He asked, not moving a millimeter. He knew how crucial it was for him to remain still, and you silently thanked him for that. Certain clients hadn't been so thoughtful.

"On whether you like him or not." You said, shrugging your shoulders as you deepened the black of his suit, almost matching his hair.

You had never been indifferent to the man's charming appearance: you considered yourself a fan. Well, not exactly a fan, more like a passionate supporter of what he did, of how he helped the community. And how handsome he looked.

"The murales? I find them brilliant." He said, lifting the corners of his mouth just slightly. You would have scolded him, hadn't he looked so incredibly beautiful; the thought of starting over, just to capture the faintest smile, crossed your mind, but the smirk disappeared just as quick as it had appeared so you continued.

"No, the vigilante." You said firmly. You looked at him once more, raising one eyebrow and waiting for an answer.

"The police doesn't seem to like him very much." He said indifferently. But you knew everyone had an opinion on the batman, one couldn't be just indifferent to it.

"Because the police has never been able to catch the Joker on its own." You said, smirking. "I wouldn't like him either if he was trying to steal my job."

"Maybe he will, one day." He said, amused.

You liked this kind of clients: the kind that was so easy to talk to, that didn't despise some light conversation, the kind that, despite being part of the élites of society, appeared much friendlier than they looked.

"I sure hope not, he would put me out of business." You said chuckling lightly.

"He could never paint like you." He said, as if he knew him in person.

"You're flattering me, mr Wayne," you continued, smiling. "That won't help you, i'll still paint what i see, every single wrinkle."

"They wouldn't like that very much," he retorted.

"Who wouldn't like that very much?"

"The people that are going to buy this painting."

You raised your head, eyebrows knitting in confusion. He was the one who had commissioned the painting, was he not?

"It's for charity," he explained. "I have enough paintings of me hanging around my house."

"If you ever feel the need for one more, i could offer you a discount: buy one, get one free." You said.

He seemed to consider it. "I just might take you up on that," he turned towards you and the look that you shot him made him immediately turn back, smirking to himself. "Although i wouldn't want you to look at me too long, wouldn't want you to get bored."

You shook your head, refraining yourself from disagreeing, from telling him just how much you would have enjoyed. You would have offered him a thousand more paintings if it had meant staring at him for a minute longer without feeling guilty.

"Actually," he began again. "I wanted to ask you if you'd be willing to bear me a little longer."

You kept on gliding your paintbrush across the canvas, blocking in the background.

"I would love for you to accompany me at the charity gala," he said, so nonchalantly. Your eyes widened at the proposal. "The artist should be able to see who's going to bring home her masterpiece, shouldn't she?"

You did your best to conceal yourself behind the canvas, your hand stopping its movements as the realization hit you. A gala. With Bruce Wayne.

"I've never been to a gala, i wouldn't know what to do." You tried recomposing yourself, but it wasn't working very well.

"I've been to plenty, all you have to do is smile and you should be fine," he said, his voice sounded closer, deeper, but still so light. "That's what i usually do too."

You looked up to see him bare inches from you, looking down at you from behind the canvas. You slowly met his gaze, embarrassment clearly displayed on your face, but he didn't mention it.

"I told you not to move." You said, voice as still as you could manage.

"Should i take that as a yes?"

It had been a yes. A very not sure, confused one, but nevertheless, a yes.

And as you found yourself in the most expensive gown you owned, hung onto Bruce Wayne's arm, walking around a room filled with Gotham's richest and most influent people, you truly realized the meaning of your yes.

Everyone couldn't take their eyes off of you. Not you, but you and Bruce. You with Bruce.

He had presented you as the artist, but people didn't seem to grasp onto that and simply winked as you passed on to greet other guests.

"Whoever bids the highest, will take your masterpiece home." He reminded you as he finally managed to guide you away from the big crowd. He handed you a glass of what you assumed was champagne, and you thanked him silently.

"Let's hope everyone thinks it's a masterpiece, so they'll bid a lot." You said as you drank down every single drop of the amber liquid in the glass.

"Who wouldn't think so? It's beautiful." He continued, not once leaving your side.

"The subject surely helps." You remarked.

He leaned in just a bit, just enough to whisper in your ear; the music was loud and the chatter was louder. "I don't think the subject really matters, miss Y/l/n."

"I think it does, these people are here for you, mr Wayne."

His piercing blue eyes bore into yours, never wavering. "Unfortunately, i'm not here for them." He said, as he kept on scrutinizing you. You swore your whole body warmed up at the allusion, but it didn't mean anything. Absolutely nothing.

Suddenly Bruce took your empty glass from your hand and deposed it on the tray of a waiter that was passing nearby, along with his own flute. He offered his hand to you. "Would you grant me this dance, miss Y/l/n?"

You took his hand, fingers intertwining together and you swore the whole room looked at you, glaring at you with envy. But it didn't matter much, not when you began gliding on the dance floor with Bruce.

He guided you effortlessly, his eyes still searching yours. You couldn't hold his gaze, too strong, too freezing; you opted to look at your feet as you waltzed, making sure not to step on his shoes.

"Did you get tired of my face already?" He remarked as you kept on dancing.

Your eyes immediately shot up to find him smirking down at you. You smiled bashfully at him, having been caught doing that one thing you would have never wanted to do; look away from him.

You kept on dancing when the music seemed to dull, people leaving the dance floor and finding renewed interest for the windows, giving the watchers the perfect view of the entire city.

Bruce left hold of your hand, letting it fall to your side, but to your great surprise, he kept holding onto your waist. You both approached the windows and noticed what the people were so interested in: the bat-signal, shining bright in the sky, cutting through the clouds and brightening Gotham's dark night.

"Looks like i'll get new material for my murales," you said absent-mindedly as you stared outside. You felt Bruce's hands slowly leaving your waist. "Where are you going?"

"I have to make sure everything's alright, we don't know what happened and if everyone's safe." He said, beginning to leave the room.

You followed him closely, trying not to gather too much attention, but no one seemed to notice, too enraptured by the signal, maybe even hoping to catch sight of the bat. You were too, in all honesty, but you couldn't simply let Bruce leave.

"The security will make sure of that, won't they?" You asked.

He didn't show signs of stopping. "I know, but i want to make sure too."

"But mr Wayne-"

"Call me Bruce, please," he said as he stopped briefly in front of you. "I have to go check, will you stay here and make sure everything goes as planned?"

You scrutinized his gaze, shaking your head. "I can't let you go alone, you shouldn't even be going in the first place."

"I'll reach the security and simply make sure everything's fine," he reassured you. "But i need you to stay here, can you do that miss Y/l/n?"

"Call me Y/n," you mimicked, giving him a small smile. "I will."

He smiled before taking your hand and deposing a light kiss on the back of it, brushing your knuckles with his lips. "I'll be back in a moment."

He left the room; no one noticed. You looked at the threshold, empty.

"Not." You concluded, talking to yourself. You were not going to stay there while he possibly risked his life to make sure everything was fine. It was probably nothing, and the police along with Gotham's dark knight had probably already gotten the situation under control, but you needed to be sure.

You followed after him.

There was no sign of him in the building, at the entrance, in the parking lot. You asked the security but no one had seen him.

It was right then and there that it struck you; the revelation. Perhaps you were wrong, perhaps you were mixing reality and fantasy and maybe champagne had something to do with it. But there was only one way to know the truth.

You rushed to the roof, ditching the elevator to run up the stairs. You even kicked off your heels at some point, gaining speed now that your feet had been freed from the uncomfortable shoes.

Almost breathless, you got to the rooftop. You opened the door to find yourself in the chill of the night. The signal had stopped beaming in the sky, and the city looked calm. Gotham seldom looked calm but that night, it looked almost peaceful.

You looked around you but there was no one; not Bruce Wayne, nor a certain vigilante.

A darkly painted wall caught your eyes: just a few buildings away was one of your murales, the batman standing tall, watching over Gotham.

It was one of the first you'd done and it remained one of your favorites. He truly looked like a hero, not a vigilante: he looked like the dark knight Gotham had always needed. Like the dark knight you had admired since the first day you read it in the news.

You got closer to the edge, narrowing your eyes to look at the painting, when you felt something move behind you. You didn't turn.

"You shouldn't be so close to the edge," Said the voice. It was dark and rough, low and unsurprisingly familiar. If you hadn't been paying close attention, if you had never thought about it, you would have never guessed whose voice it was. But you were sure.

"You didn't tell me if you liked the vigilante or not," you began, slowly turning around. "I guess we know why, mr Wayne."

"I told you to call me Bruce," he said, his voice easing just slightly, melting into the warm tone you knew and loved. "And i had told you to stay inside."

"I rarely do what i'm told,"

"Even if your life is on the line?" He asked, his voice growing closer to you.

"Especially so." You retorted, amusement in your tone.

You finally turned around to see your knight, in no shining armor however: he was still wearing his perfect black suit, his immaculate white shirt, his dashing slicked back hair.

He got closer to you and you frowned slightly, disappointed your guess hadn't been true.

"We should go back inside, they're probably wondering where we went." He proposed, but your eyes were focused on that little detail, that one thing that betrayed his otherwise perfect cover.

You lifted your hand to cup his face, brushing your thumb against his cheek to remove that one, small, insignificant drop of blood. But you had noticed it, because that's what you did; you noticed the small details.

You were right.

"You are right, Bruce, we should go back inside."

Genuine question, since you seem to be a prolific Superbat enthusiastic. Why do so many Superbat fans disrespect Clark so much? 🤷‍♀️

Whenever I see Superbat posts in the Clark/Superman tag most of them ignore his history, his trauma, personality, his family/friends/allies [Lois, his parents, other Justice League members, Jimmy, Kara, Perry, John Henry, Pete, Steve, Cat and etc] his city, his children, [Conner, Chris, Mia, and Jon] and mythos.

It seems people are only interested in Bruce's character and his family. Also, most Superbat fans strike me as being an odd combination of being homophobic, heteronormative, and misogynistic and sometimes even abusive! Very crazy combo, but that's how it seems to me from looking at the majority of works.

For example, people typically make Bruce the bottom or feminine one. When realistically they would be switches. Yet, overwhelmingly all the work is dedicated to "Brucie Wanye." Even though most of the time his true personality is a cold, macho, caring man. Heck, I see Clark being more the bottom type, since he's a very loving partner, and he enjoys being taken care of. You know he's definitely getting pegged by Lois.

Which brings me to the lack of care towards Lois, where she is either villainized or not made to be an important person in Clark's live. Regardless of ships and platonic/romantic feelings, Lois is Clark's closest friend. Yet, none of that is rarely displaced in fanart, headcanons, and fics. Yet, Bruce's people are always made sure to be included.

Also, what's with the influx of evil Superman and poor innocent babyboy Batman. Look I like some dark tropes too, and I wouldn't mind so much if we at least kept the same treatment with both parties. Instead of only favoring one person.

It's deeply upsetting and disturbing to see the kindest original hero immigrant aka the champion of the oppressed. To be used for such weird, oc, fetishistic works. Again, it's odd to due Batman having so much privilege and is known for being very controlling, yet it's never displayed in these darker takes. Batman is a good man, but can have troubling qualities, as all good characters have. Clark has his darker attributes too, but that’s okay as long as it presented fairly.

Lastly, Clark and Bruce have a close friendship. Yet, again I see no one making art/fics about Clark's other close relationships. But, everyone seems to be a huge fan of being a multishipper for Bruce. Example being Selina, Talia, Joker, Harvey, Ghostmaker, Hal, Barry, Arthur, Diana, and etc. Seems to be to be a bit biased no, for fans that claim to love Clark and ship Superbat have no problem doing this for Bruce.

Where's the love for other Clark ships like Lois, Lana, Lex, John Corben, Brainiac 5, Hal, Arthur, Diana, Barry, Maxima, Volcana, Blanque, and etc.

Also, it's not really special that Clark recognizes Bruce's heartbeat as the go to Superbat trope. He does that with everyone like again to list Lois, his parents, his children, his villains, his friends both in the Justice League, at the Daily Planet, and in Smallville. Heck, he's even given Jimmy his own personal watch to call him!

Sorry, this is a lot. I didn't mean to type so much, but I didn't want to use multiple asks. I also want you to know I'm not attacking you personally. Some of the text posts and art I looked up on your blog are awesome! ❤️ Keep up the good work! I just sincerely want to know why there's such a strong bias in Superbat. I personally, do like the pairing as long as they are both treated like equals.

But first lemme say that thanks for complimenting my blog! Glad you are enjoying it. But for future reference, if you want to complain about something you don't really like about a ship or fandom maybe consider making your own post about it. Cus I know your intentions were good but going to a superbat blog and saying “this is everything I dislike about superbat!!” comes off pretty rude. I could stop there but I’ll address your questions/points because why not and I’m a glutton for punishment,,

So first off, and this is what I’m gonna end up repeating throughout this post, I understand your frustration at parts of Clark's mythos not being explored more in superbat fic/art but a lot of what it comes down is just that uh. Some people know more about batman mythos! And some people know more about superman mythos! It doesn’t really mean that they like/respect one character more than the other.. people are just interested in different comics lol. Now uh there’s a lot to unpack with this lol. Long story short, top/bottom preferences dont really have anything to do with personality. And as for “realistically they’d switch” yeah I personally see them as switches too! But there’s no “correct” way of imagining how a fictional character has gay sex lol. As for this, some of it is going to be because ppl maybe dont know as much about Lois as they do other characters, and some of it is yeah misogyny lol I won’t lie to you. But to be honest I haven’t seen any Lois bashing in fics or fanwork since like the mid 2010s. So I cant tell if this complaint is in good faith or not. Either way I still dont know why you’re telling it to me..

Lmao this one. First rule of fandom is that people are going to write weird, ooc fetishistic fics purely for the sake of writing weird, ooc fetishistic fics. Its fanfiction, its not like they’re official DC stories - they dont have to be accurate. I understand your frustration if you’re seeing a dynamic you dont like a lot but, again, I would advise you to utilize tagging + filtering to your advantage. The reality of fandom is you’re going to see interpretations of a character that you don’t like. And what you do is simply don’t read what you don’t like. Its not always that deep. 

Again! You just! Have! To look! For creators! That are more into! Superman comics! (@/sully-s has a lot of cute Jimmy + Lois/Clois art if you’re interested) Like I’m not a Batman multishipper because I want to personally spite Clark Kent, I’m a Batman multishipper because I’ve read a LOT of Batman comics lol. Like I’m gonna level with you I have no idea who John Corben or Blanque or Volcana even are. But I know there are probably plenty of people who ship superbat who have no idea who Minhkhoa Khan or Silver St. Cloud or Andrea Beaumont are!! In conclusion my advice is: use filtering! use tagging! If you’re good at searching for stuff you can pretty consistently avoid ships/dynamics you dont like! I do this all the time. And for next time, maybe remember that fandom isn’t curated to your personal tastes automatically - you have to curate it yourself, and thats no one else’s job but your own.

He bullies Roman and Brucie, as well as Patrick to some degree, betrays pretty much everyone he's ever worked with (killing a McReary brother and then coming to his funeral, just to score Sensitive Guy™️ points with Katie was the most cruel thing I've ever seen in media ever), plays the victim all the time-- At some point I literally started rooting for Dimitri :-/. Please, tell me why you like him!

Okay so listen, this took me a while to answer 'cause I actually had to think about this for a bit -

First of all, thanks for asking, I really do love talking about GTA IV, since it's my fave GTA :)

Sooo let's talk about mah boi Niko. I fell in love with Niko literally the second I saw him. Well, that's not exactly correct. I fell in love with him while playing The Cousins Bellic when he was talking to Roman about his past (since you said Niko was bullying Roman - Roman literally fell asleep when Niko was talking to him?). I know Niko has his flaws, I'm pretty sure R* makes sure their protagonists have quite a few flaws so you can identify yourself with them. Anyways.

Considering the bullying, I don't think that's what it is? Sure, you can read a lot into it, but tbh me and my siblings do "bully" each other quite a lot, too. You have no idea how many times I told my sister she was raised by fucking wolves before we found and adopted her - she usually answers with flipping me off and telling me that I was adopted (which is actually true, that's why it's funny). I don't think Roman nor Brucie nor Packie would be as close to Niko as they are if they actually felt bullied? I mean, I wouldn't risk being shot just to support my cousin taking revenge for his dead girlfriend if I actually felt bullied by him? But it's a game and you can read into it whatever you want.

I also don't exactly know what you mean by betraying? 😂 who exactly did he betray??

Sure, he kinda DID betray Francis or Derrick (whoever you picked, I usually shoot Francis), but I don't think he wanted to work for Francis in the first place and he also didn't have that much of a choice, and yes, no matter if you kill Francis or Derrick, Niko will attend the funeral, which is kinda shitty, but what was he supposed to say? Sorry Packie but I'm the one who killed your brother, I don't think it would be appropriate to come? And if you mean Playboy X and Dwayne (the first time I played GTA IV I shot Dwayne and I never ever did that again), he did betray one of them, sure, but again, he could've said no and then they would've gotten someone else to do it.

Considering the victim part - well, he IS a victim. Based on a lot of conversations ingame Niko was very young when he had to fight in the Yugoslaw wars (I don't know where you're from or what you know about european history, maybe you wanna look that up yourself), it's implied his father was an alcoholic, they didn't have electricity in their house until he was 12, so yeah, he seems like a victim because he IS a victim. At least he's more of a victim than most other GTA protagonists (for example, Michael). I think maybe that is why I like him so much? I don't really know.

And now, last but not least, how the fuck can you even consider rooting for Dimitri? God, I hate that rat so much 😂 but I have to admit, he was a brilliant antagonist.

Review on Red Hood Outlaw #27

I've never done any like this before so don't mind me.

Spoilers up ahead!

So I (like most fans) was upset on how Bruce threw Jason out of Gotham without a second thought. Threw him out of a city he was born in, grew up in, and came back to. So when I read Heros in Crisis #1 I didn't know if anybody was going to tell Jason that his best friend died. So when I saw this page,

I was thinking he would more than likely find out on his own. But then the last person I expected to show up was there

Bruce Wayne. Batman. The man who kicked Jason out of his city. Honestly I was thinking Barbara or Alfred would tell him. Probably by phone, nevertheless it was highly possible.

So when Bruce showed up in person I was surprised.

Bruce was the one to tell Jason that Roy (his best friend) died and I think this has a lot to say on Jason's and Bruce's relationship. As unbearablely complicated they are with each other right now, he still came. He was there for his son in time of need where were ya when you kicked him out Brucie?

Batman's relationship with each robin is significant, but I enjoy Bruce's and Jason's dynamic even more because to me it's like there's understanding between them and at time unwanted understanding. No matter how much they "hate" each other they understand each. No matter how much Bruce understands Jason he doesn't want that for him. No matter how much Jason wants to hate Bruce he can't. He's got Jason's back and Bruce knows he's got his.

Say what you will about Heroes in Crisis, and Jason's new method of doing things. As much as many have a right to think this new change with Jason is a set back on his character development I believe it's approving it. but for the love of all do something about the hair It might put a deeper foundation into their complicated relationship.

I'm new to this review thing so sorry if it seems a bit rushed and tangled.

I want to know what your opinions are. How do you feel about the things I said? Do you think Jason's and Bruce's relationship will get better? Will we ever get to see Jason with hair again?

I also would like to say that the reaction Jason Todd had upon learning that his best friend Roy Harper was murdered was normal.

Now before you say anything hear me out

People grieve in many different ways. From breaking down crying to going on rampages or go as far as finding a way for revenge. But no reaction plays a bigger part than all of them. Jason knew Roy would be upset at him if he moped around about him but Jason's lack of shown emotion and action should not be thrown out the window. Just because he didn't immediately start asking who did it or why it start throwing angry punches doesn't mean he isn't hurting

He's hurting trust me. Probably more than anyone. That's why I think he in a way was ready to accepted it. People who cry are not the only ones allowed to grieve.

That's why when Jason called Roy after finding out the news it was a way for Jason to let him know he's here and waiting. When he deleted his contact it was a way for him to say goodbye.

Now onto the matter of Bruce not telling Jason about Dick. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it. I do think Bruce should have let Jason know that Dick was shot in the head but he didn't because Dick was going to get out of it and just get away with amnesia.

Why was he going to tell Jason that Dick got hurt on the job but will pull through with his memory missing the same time he just told him his best friend died? They both hit the core but they are not the same. Richard will be okay. Roy is not coming back. Not telling a person two different bad news is better for that person. You can't just dump everything on them at once. Jason just got news about his friend and I think if Bruce told him about Dick I believe Jason would have to spilt his grief or worse decide who he should feel for more.

Even if he did tell Jason about Dick it wouldn't have been helpful. Dick Grayson would not remember Jason Todd and it was bad enough that Dick wasn't there for him when Bruce beat him and threw him out of Gotham. Bruce knew Dick wasn't going to remember him so he choose to tell Jason that one of the two people he cared about is no longer here. Made the more bigger issue come out and feel more important
