Izutsumi’s relationship with the whole party is very fun and heartwarming, and her relationship with each party member has something unique and special, but besides Senshi being the mama hen I really love how Chilchuck looks after Izutsumi in a father-ish way. He’s the only one in the party that sees her like an actual human girl lol. He treats her with respect while not letting himself be walked over, and I think there’s something to be said about it, esp since Chilchuck knows how it’s like to be infantilized and pet like a cute thing much like our favorite catgirl. He does handle her like a guy who has 3 adult daughters, parenting instincts kicking in

Listen I knooow the party is breaking up with the end approaching but I’ve been thinking a lot about if Izutsumi decided to stick with anyone and I think it’d be really nice if she stayed with Chilchuck. I love Chilchuck’s store so much, I have so many headcanons and fic plans involving it, but listen.  I feel like Chilchuck would be a good person to look after her, she’s still a teen and shown not to be mature enough to know what to do with herself and feed herself right yet, she could become Chilchuck’s store mascot like a cat that’s always lounging inside hehe.  He gains another sort-of-daughter and she keeps her favorite pillow, a loss-loss deal on his end but Chilchuck is too responsible to not take her in if needed mwahahaha Izutsumi would have no remorse, he’s ready to suffer for her comfort

How does Prince de Silva feel about having been a nun; does she consider her vows to still be binding after death, did she try to keep to them for a while, did she knowingly choose to leave them behind, did she think to herself that it's something she promised about how she will live and she isn't living anymore, etc.? When it comes to blood sorcery, what are some of Rudy's favourite aspects of it, and does he have any favourite rituals etc. he tends to rely on?

Alejandra sees being a nun as a sort of stepping stool in her reputation when she was a mortal. She never really has true faith in God, or even strict Catholicism despite the era she lived in. She doesn’t abide to her vows now (since she’s probably done worse things than even going against them), since at the beginning of her days a kindred, she was told that she was one with the damned. After that, it was just an excuse for her to be a horrible person. All in all, Alejandra was a nun because she was widowed and still wanted her reputation within the mortal nobility.

Rudy uses blood sorcery in more defensive ways; but he mostly uses it for intelligence. He likes to use Eyes of Babel a lot, considering many of his students (chantry) come to the Tanggan de Maynila from all different parts of the Philippines, of course separated sometimes by dialect and being able to communicate with them is probably his number one priority. And also definitely Truth of Blood, Rudy is the type to want the truth out of everyone—since becoming Primogen, and the Prince’s second in command (until she gets a seneschal); makes him a target from kindred both outside and inside their court.

With Siberite taking on Ardbert's soul, does this have any implications for her relationship with Thancred? Or have they not really discussed it?

It was something that was almost not discussed by the two of them, as initially there was more relief from her not dying. The more he thought about it though the more he felt a bit off about it. It wasn't unknown that Sib and Ardbert had a fling back in post-HW, but it also wasn't really talked about. There was a bit of jealousy there because of that relationship especially when Sib made mention that at the time she almost left the Scions to join Ardbert in his crusade, something that wasn't known to anyone but the two of them. All of it further complicated with the learning of the whole soul situation, so trying to then wrap one's head around the sharing of souls between the two of them and with Demos.

There was almost a more long term separation between Thancred and Sib, because it was a lot. However like other times before he turned to Demos to try and talk it out make sense of it, which put things a little more in perspective. The first being despite the shared soul all three of them were their own person with different wants, needs, and personalities, which is what makes a person. The second being that Thancred needs to actually sit and come to terms with Sib having had other relationships during the time that they weren't together, that some of them had benefits (despite the heartbreak of some of them) in making her into the person she is today, and that he had the power the entire time to make his feelings known to her, so while some jealousy is understandable he's using it to mask self blame and he needs to stop doing that/accept mistakes made. The third thing was that Thancred had to look at what Ardbert did without the relationship he had with Sib. Look at who Ardbert was as a person and he'd find that even if that romantic angle wasn't there he'd make the same choice to save her, to be a hero. A choice that both Demos and Thancred would have also done if they were able to.

It was after that the two were able to really talk about it and discuss where to go from there. Which came down to that they wouldn't talk about it much, but there is a thankfulness for it having happened. And soon joked about how guess it made sense Sib was so willing to join him back in post-HW cause they were more connected than they knew at the time. The only time its really thought about deeply on Thancred's end is the wondering on if he had a past life, were they still in love back then? Were they fated to meet and fall in love every time? Because its not just Sib he has a deep connection with, he has one with Demos and while that's platonic its still the same soul. Thancred can confidently say that of those living he's the one that knows this "Azem" better than anyone. Its not a thought that comes up often but now and then it does, and came up once again post-EW having heard about Anthea and Hyth's reborn souls finding one another and falling in love all over again.

And to answer the unspoken question that's probably been raised: No, Thancred isn't a past love of Deimos nor Phobos. While I do hc that some of the Scion's having shards/ancient counter parts I don't put much thought into it as it never feels relevant. Not only that, while he has had sex a few times with a very select few people Deimos is ace both sexually and romantically, and there was never any partners long term/beyond the sexual encounters. Phobos for obvious reasons also did not take on any lovers. So no Thancred and Sib are not fated lovers in that regard like Hyth and Anthea. Fated friends is a possibility though, I just again never put much thought into that aspect as there's little relevance to the story currently.

dfghhjkl yeah i've seen those claims and I firmly believe that anyone who's saying any of that needs to take reading comprehension 101. I've talked about this claim a little bit here but to reiterate, kageyama and hinata's bond- their unique connection, the meaningfulness of it, the way that they support and teach and learn from each other- is one of the core aspects of the series. Like, there were so many instances of people commenting about how special their relationship was that I made a list. This post here I think are also relevant to addressing this. (if you couldn't tell, i talk about this a lot lol. But I don't mind talking about it some more)

Point is, they mean a lot to each other. And yes, haikyuu does make a point of showing how volleyball isn't always a 1 v 1 comparison to irl and how volleyball doesn't have to mean everything to be meaningful but at the same time, that's inapplicable to hinata and kageyama because the other side of that coin is that sometimes, volleyball is everything. It could not possibly be more in your face that Kageyama and Hinata formed an instantaneous connection and became a duo to be feared like overnight because they recognized that the other person is exactly like them- someone who will give everything for volleyball, who will never give up, a person who complements them. and understands them. Kageyama's little backstory moment that changed everything (and fucked me up permanently) is that he's been waiting for (someone like) Hinata his entire life. So what if they're not be hanging out 24/7 outside of volleyball? (which they do hang out outside of matches btw later on in life, kageyama asked hinata to play beach vb with kunimi and kindaichi) They already have a mutual understanding about the importance of volleyball in their lives. Also like, even in the last chapter/panel of haikyuu literally just reiterates that for the two of them, volleyball and each other and intrinsically intertwined elements and that they intend on revolving around each other as partner/rivals for the rest of their lives.

If we're looking only at the anime, that list i linked above is entirely taken from season. Like, the the sheer weight of kageyama "i can spike, toss, etc by myself" tobio saying the words "as long as you're with me, you're invincible" like 1-2 episodes later?? This bullshit where kageyama extracts a promise from hinata to follow him to the top of the world still happens in the anime too. That bit in the first Seijoh match where Kageyama says that Oikawa's going to set to Iwaizumi, not because it's the most logical move but because he trusts him so innately that it's the most natural move to make and then going on to make the exact same set to Hinata in the same match?? The extra animated linger on Kageyama and Hinata's fingers touching as they stop the Miya's quick? Oikawa and Atsumu both saying that Kageyama's "wrapped around Hinata's finger"?

Like come on now, does this look like two people who are going to drift apart? Be for real. They're too obsessed with each other to do that.

Rosemary is me but Americanized I fear😔 With Vivienne though I only projected my fears of isolation and my desire to be seen as who I really am and still be loved for it.

9. How big is their role in the story? Do they make a frequent appearance or are they a character with little "screentime" but big influence? Or are they just a favourite background guy?

Rosemary is my PC for VTM Night Road so she has a really big role in his story! Same goes with Vivienne since he’s my PC for a Manhattan game. My horrible scourge <3

10. What is their main character arc in the story? Where do they start and how do they develop? Do they get a happy ending or is their story a tragic one?

Vivienne’s is DEFINITELY opening up after years of being emotionally closed off by their family. The arc started when he and Chiyaki started dating and technically “ended” when I pulled out of the chronicle. Vivienne gets a happy ending. A W for Asian lesbians.

On the other hand, Rosemary’s arc is probably trying to become “peaceful”. She’s been so in tune with violence since he grew up detached from her parents at an early age ended up in the Troubled Teen Industry (mostly wilderness camps). Anyways Rosemary doesn’t get a happy ending :D

okay okay okay thoughts/excited ramblings about the wicked movie under the cut bc i've seen it and now i'm insane about it again

let's be real it's kinda hard to fumble the opening number of a musical especially when that opening number is no one mourns the wicked and yet i was still absolutely blown away it was SO GOOD

the lil munchkins running, the singing in the streets, the posters of the witch (side note all the artwork was insanely good and just added so much to the style of oz i feel like) it was all so awesome

NOMTW becomes so sinister and they nailed it

before i left for the theater i was like 'take your bets on if i'll cry' and my roommate and i agreed that yeah obviously i would. but what i didn't expect is for ariana's sad face to knock me out in five minutes flat. i was done for

the effigy. holy shit. and handing the torch to glinda. i want to go see the whole thing again just so i can rewatch that scene. my heart still hurts

SHIZ okay shiz honestly shiz was the thing i was most excited for bc c'mon, we don't write about our gothic magic school all the time in fic for nothing. and honestly it was so good. the shots of the whole castle! the library design! the balcony moments and the stairways and just like the layers of architecture and the way morrible could kind of be anywhere at any time. the way it felt so grand and yet so small at the same time. idk man the vibes were good and the set was beautiful

actually i want to shout out the library set design again and how it tied into the clockwork theme that never gets fully called out even in the musical but it's still so good

speaking of the dark fantasy political drama tv shows, the Animal meeting!! i'm so glad they put more stuff like that in there

actually as a whole the movie felt more grounded and less comedic than the musical. i think they did a fantastic job of keeping the magic and silliness and charm and wonder of the show while still adding those extra bits of drama and dire circumstances

anyway gelphie fic prank wars trope is officially canon great work everybody handshakes all around. i was cackling (silently. i promise i'm a respectful moviegoer)

the ozdust ballroom being illegal makes so much sense. it being underwater was fucking cool. boq and nessa were actually really great and i usually don't care about them at all during this scene

also i love love love nessa and i cannot wait to see more of her. but showing her multiple times on the sidelines when elphie was being humiliated was such a good choice. the tension between nessa obviously caring for her sister yet always caring for herself more is so delicious and i always want to see it fleshed out more, and i think they did such a good job with her? her and elphaba have sweet moments which i love, and her wanting to be independent and only elphaba really understanding that is so so good. and having her just watching elphaba for so long before finally saying she can't watch. god i can't wait to see her be desperate and selfish and cold in act 2, it's gonna be so good

side note boq also looking upset by elphie being bullied. i miss my brotp man

but let's talk about what's most important: the gelphie dance. because oh my god i started crying all over again. so did elphaba. and glinda wiping her tears i'm dying i've died oh my god

i always get a little bit surprised when glinda seems more head over heels than elphaba. idk why. but ariana's glinda is absolutely more head over heels than cynthia's elphaba and i loved it

(they just. freaking LEFT the party. just zipped out of there as soon as they hugged. glinda was like hmmm i just realized some things and grabbed elphaba's hand and ran off while the night was young. and fiyero stared after them knowing that he stood no chance whatsoever)

also i'm like 72% sure the guys sitting next to me were a couple? and they both cried during the gelphie dance too and it was a very unexpected but very funny moment of solidarity

i say ariana's glinda is more head over heels and i stand by it but elphaba's fond little smile when glinda was pouting about sharing secrets almost made me start sobbing again they're so GOOD they're so CUTE and she is SO heart eyes for glinda immediately!!!

i say this jokingly but the fiyero and elphaba romance really does feel like a product of the early 2000s especially now that it's on screen rather than on stage. idk maybe that's just the lesbian in me talking though

okay look logically yes i knew idina and kristin would have cameos. but i'd been crying on and off and one short day's magic had already taken hold so they caught me completely off guard. it was great

the wizard stuff was really sweet. and while i was hoping for more time put toward shiz and stuff, i do think those moments did a great job of 1) showing how much elphaba just wants to be loved 2) foreshadowing the wizard being her father and 3) laying the groundwork for her briefly considering working with the wizard in act 2, which is a decision that never quiteee feels right in the show

i love that they put more lore into the grimmerie btw. very cool

the hot air balloon was random but fun. i wonder if it'll come up again in act 2

every time. every damn time glinda starts singing in defying gravity i just want someone to end it right there. glinda grabs the broom, it fades to black, and they both lived happily ever after

This is probably one of my favorite moments in Iliad for it shows the brutality of war and at the same time the power of comrades and forgetting one's differences.

For starters I love the fact that it shows how strong Odysseus is in battle. Modern media tend to picture him as a generally not as good warrior that has to get down to tricks to win the battle but that is far from it as in Rhapsody 11 he is seen wounded by a spear in the stomach and fighting off around 20 Trojans by himself and holding on pretty well against them. At the same time though shows the difference between Odysseus and other characters. Odysseus is not stupid. He knows his limits and he knows he won't hold out forever so the way he yells three times for ANYONE to hear him and send assistance shows the desperation of the situation

And Menelaus is the one to hear his cry and actually call for the most powerful warrior in their army to come to his assistance and he clearly states that if they lose Odysseus then things would be tough for them. He recognizes both his strength and his value in the war. He knows that people like Odysseus are irreplacable and the way he actually helps him off the battlefield by supporting him is literally one of my favorite moments! The way we also see that he later on is one of those who speaks with the most outmost warmth for Odysseus and names him as his dearest friend and comrade when he speaks of him to Telemachus (Even Aias who is not particularly fond of Odysseus and vice versa, forgets his personal grudge and rushes to his assistance)

I think that the friendship between Menelaus and Odysseus is not talked much (obscured maybe by the scenes between Odysseus and Diomedes and for good reason maybe) and I think it is a shame. And it is another reason why I loved art such as @thehelplessmortals depicting some tender moments between Menelaus and Odysseus. And also this is another reason why I made them interract in my fanfiction Guilt given that Menelaus is probably the one who appreciates more than many the capabilities Odysseus has; both his brain and mind and his battle abilities
