It is art for art's sake, and art as an instrument of social salvation. It is strength and weakness, individualism and collectivism, purity and corruption, revolution and reaction, peace and war, love of life and love of death.

On the dreary morning of October 14th , 1999 , sixteen year old Prodigy of The Arts , Goapele Scott was officially declared missing fourty-eighty hours after she was nowhere to be found within her self acclaimed hometown of Macabre , Georgia. Sources say that she was last spotted in a heated disagreement with longtime family friend Georgia State University's Star Basketball Player seventeen year old Xodus Casanova.

The two not only knew each other very well , but also allegedly concocted a plan to run away together which led authorities to believe that the Elite Division I Power Forward had involvement in Goapele's disappearance-however , that could not be any further from the case. Twenty long years , never ending pain , severe strife , and many tears later she mysteriously returns opening Pandora's box.

Two worlds collide after demons from their pasts force them both into a whirlwind of mayhem. Goapele and Xodus were two traumatized souls , but by the power of truth , God made them BLUE.

Hello my favorite heauxs!—and to those of you who don’t already know me I hope you’re enjoying your experience in the Artiverse. I want to start off by saying that my name is Artist Oriental , and I’m just an anomalous child of The Most High here baring gifts and fruits to give to the collective. For the past decade and a half I have been perfecting the craft of storytelling , and I’m at a point in my practice where I’m focused on broadening my horizons and expanding the audience I’ve been blessed to entertain and edify. From filling up notebooks all day long in class to hundreds and thousands of reads on Wattpad , my love for the art of literacy has never faded. Throughout the years I’ve been a breathing witness to the evolution of Artist as a person , creator , and soul—and may I say she’s come a mighty long way. As I grow older and enter my quarter century milestone , I find more and more that my work is often a reflection of my peculiar perception with the perfect blend of my eccentric imagination. With that being said; GOD WILL BE PRESENT IN ALL OF ARTIST THE AUTHOR’S CONTENT. I will not denounce the reality that I know to be true , experience , and choose to express. frankie studies political science at pennbrook university with the intention of going into politics as a campaign manager. it started out as another way to be in her dad’s good books, but she actually enjoys it.

she lives with her family in mystic north. they own one of the bigger properties in the neighbourhood.

from frankie’s childhood to adolescence, frankie had felt the pressures of being the perfect daughter. for the most part, she’d met those expectations. but the pressures increased drastically when her father became mayor of cherrywood and her family was pushed into the scrutiny of the public.

frankie has a cat named petal who’s pretty feisty and hard to gain her love. but once she warms up to you, your patience will be rewarded in cuddles.

she’s always been curious about what went down in the warehouse district. one night during her first year of uni, frankie finds out when effy takes her. despite the excitement and adrenaline pumping in her veins, it was clear frankie was completely out of her element. so effy suggests something she’s familiar with herself: to be someone else for the night. to have fun and let go. to be cece. along with the new identity comes a fake id and a curated wardrobe, specifically for partying. cece’s not so much a way to severe her party antics from her family ( though frankie does find comfort in that small degree of separation ), but is more so of a way to trick herself that whatever she does that night isn’t a reflection of who she really is... or is it?

in terms of romance, frankie’s sworn off from anything serious after her heart was completely broken in her first year of uni. deep down, she’s definitely that type of girl that would want a relationship, but they’d have to really prove that they’re worthy / serious for her & her heart. ( think: brooke davis after lucas scott cheated on her lmao ).

➟ on july 19th, 2000 at 9:08 pm valeria and isaac almanza welcomed nesrin into the world. the two never had the chance to give her another sibling. ➟ valeria was a full time stay at home mom while isaac would work 10 hour shifts at a car repair shop trying his best to make ends meet. they didn't have much but they were a happy family. ➟ at three, nesrin's not interacting properly with the other kids. she's not sharing or playing with others and she's aggressive. "she's just shy" her mother says ➟ at six she's top of her first-grade class, always getting the highest scores on their english exams. she's still not making many friends, but that's okay because she'll be more outgoing with time. ➟ a few months later her father passes away in his sleep. it's shocking and unexpected. her mother has a rough time grieving the loss of her first love and having to take over family finances. she joins a dating website where she meets an older man and the two quickly get hitched after nine months of dating. ➟ right before her 10th birthday nesrin meets her mother's new boyfriend. a man she met on a catholic dating site who has a daughter two years younger than her. the two get hitched not long after and now she's learning how to have a family again. ➟ nesrin starts attending church with the family at her mother's request, whose husband is very uptight and religious. she has a new set of rules to follow with her little sister. ➟ once high school starts nesrin does her best to break out of her shell and make new friends. hard to do when you're fifteen with an 8 pm curfew. ➟ at fifteen she sneaks out & goes to a high school party with the neighbor to meet new people. nesrin has her first kiss and loses her virginity in the same night to an older boy she has a crush on. not necessarily because she wants to but rather because it's what all the teens are doing. isn't it? nesrin soon learns that she likes the little bit of attention she can get from boys, and slowly begins to pursue them just to 'finally feel something'. ➟ i'm getting tired of typing so real quick she does her best to get good grades but she has mediocre grades at best. her best subject is english. she applies to all sorts of colleges across the country & obtains a spot as GSU with a swimming scholarship.

☆ 𝐋𝐀𝐘𝐄𝐑 𝐅𝐎𝐔𝐑 / 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭

➟ girlfriend, or former girlfriend of michael. when the relationship first started the two really did care about each other but somewhere down the line michael began to pull away and nesrin had to find affection elsewhere. at the point of michael's death they were barely together. ➟ as stated ahead nesrin became intuned with her sexuality earlier on in life. overtime she has learned how to weaponize that, using it to get her way. she is very secure with this and has no embarrassment from it either. period queen. ur stronger than me. ➟ literally moved across the country for some freedom. her freshman year consisted of blacking out every weekend but the fun is gone now that she's able to drink legally. ➟ nesrin has created a podcast under the alias melissa where she discusses the ongoing investigation of michael's death and what has lead up to it. don't judge her. it's practice for when she becomes a newscaster. maybe.

Top 5 "Alien" Movies

Doing a Top 5 horror movie franchise has become a tradition here every Halloween! In 2016 I did my Top 5 Halloween Movies list, In 2017 I did my Top 5 Nightmare on Elm Street Movies, in 2018 I did Top 5 (Night of the Living) Dead Movies, in 2019 I did Top 5 Evil Dead movies, in 2020 I did Top 5 Hannibal Lector movies, in 2021 I did my Top 5 Scream movies and last year I updated my Halloween Movies list based on the films that were released since the 2016 list.

This year I have decided to do the sci-fi horror Alien movie series. It began in 1979 with Ridley Scott's original and the 7th movie is coming 2024. First off, I am not counting either of the Alien Vs. Predator films. While they do feature the alien, it's more of a crossover and overall I wasn't into them. Not making the list at all is 2012's Prometheus. Ridley Scott returned for that? Uggh! Also not making the list is 2017's Alien: Covenant, which was better than Prometheus...but that's not saying much.

5. Spaceballs (1987)

Alright, I know this is going to be considered cheating by some since this is a Mel Brooks parody and NOT an official Alien movie. But this makes the list based solely on the Alien parody scene where the alien does a song and dance after bursting out of the chest of Alien's John Hurt. Comedy Gold!

4. Alien³ (1992)

This is a strange choice considering it was a let down and director David Fincher has since disowned it, but it makes the list because it was Fincher's feature film debut and you can see the potential as a feature director he has since proved and then some.

3. Alien: Resurrection (1997)

This is a flawed sequel, but the idea of bringing Jean-Pierre Jeunet's visual aesthetic to the Alien franchise was a good idea in theory, but it certainly delivered some excellent visuals, notably that underwater sequence.

2. Aliens (1986)

After the success of Terminator, James Cameron was a natural choice for bringing action and sci-fi together. The horror elements are a little less than Ridley Scott's original, but it's one of the best sequels in history.

Alien (1979)

Because you gifted me with a roller coaster of an essay I'm gonna return the favor(????) and give you. the ✨backstory✨ to this relationship because. HOLY FRICK I need to stop giving side characters such fleshed-out backstories that otherwise would never see the light of day. (BEWARE, IT'S EXTREMELY LONG)

So Nic is Sterling's cousin, he has a twin sister named Brooke, yadda yadda. High school era, he's used to Brooke making fun of him for not dating and never having kissed anyone, that's just what sisters do. He sticks to his guns and just doesn't bother with dating.

BUT THEN. Brooke plants an idea in his head without even meaning to. She jokes ONE TIME that maybe if Nic isn't interested in dating, maybe it's because he's focusing on girls when he's actually gay. He brushes this off when she says it, but it sticks in the back of his brain.

And then one of the guys in his friend group (Scott, he'll be important later) is messing around on his phone after school and gets bored. Shows Nic a picture of some random lady and asks him "smash or pass" and Nic. Has NO CLUE what Scott is talking about until it gets explained—and he's immediately like "NOPE I'M NOT PLAYING THAT" because the idea of sex is just ick. The other friends get into the game and Nic is just watching from the back.

He starts thinking. And then he asks his friends. "Hey, do you guys think I might be gay?"

Scott immediately goes full-on ally mode and starts offering an alternate version of the game with pictures of guys to see if Nic finds them attractive. But the thing is, Nic just aesthetically prefers male-presenting people. He mistakes this for attraction and decides that he must be gay, until a little while later he realizes he's still seeing everyone as equal in terms of dating options. He settles on calling himself pansexual.

Skipping over some stuff, the group graduates high school, some stuff happens with Scott's mom and the group accompanies him to the hospital, including Scott's girlfriend. At some point, Nic is the main person comforting Scott, and his girlfriend gets jealous and accuses Nic of having a crush on Scott. Nic, being extremely attached (but not attracted) to Scott, gets scared of his own feelings of attachment and basically flees the scene. Scott goes after him, they both nearly run over the twink that's entering the building with his sister. This guy picks up the wallet that Nic dropped and goes after them.

And then he asks Nic out while returning the wallet, and panics when he realizes that he might have just intruded on a couple that's in the middle of breaking up (Scott's yelling things like, "You can't just run away without telling me what's going on!", it really does look like a messy break up) but that kind of breaks the tension and Nic stops trying to drive off and he and Scott laugh it off. Nic goes and gets lunch with this guy (Topher). They decide to try dating—and end up becoming a couple. (Also Scott breaks up with that girl around this time because he doesn't like the lack of trust she has for him.)

Somewhere around this time is when Nic realizes that he's ace. Scott does some digging and shoots Nic an article about asexuality, going "Hey I thought maybe you'd wanna give this a read!" And Nic is like "I'M NOT BROKEN! THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE LIKE ME OH THANK GOD--" And he immediately adopts the label and starts to feel proud of it instead of worried that he's missing out on something. Scott buys him a black ring for his birthday.

Unfortunately, Topher does not understand Nic's whole thing about not having sex, but he doesn't communicate this whatsoever. He vents about the situation to Brooke, who drops a hint to Nic, which makes Nic pretty much snap because he can't believe Topher didn't just talk to him. He drives to his place and they get in an argument. Topher makes the fatal mistake of saying that maybe they could just try it and maybe Nic will like it if he just has a good experience. Nic basically goes ballistic and after defending himself against a few last desperate pleas from Topher that just sound like extreme de-validation, Nic gets in his car and just. drives.

Skipping the between stuff, but basically Topher shows up to apologize and ask if Nic could educate him, since he doesn't understand but really wants to for Nic's sake. They stay "friends" to an extent, and Topher does become an ally for Nic, but that's about it.

And then, maybe a year after the initial break-up, Topher calls Nic and asks if he wants to come along as a wingman on his blind date. "You want me to third-wheel your date?" "Well I mean-- It sounds weird when you put it like that." But Nic agrees—and then has a meltdown after he hangs up. It takes a whole day of hanging out with Scott (who is a true ally and keeps his friends and relationship with his new girlfriend at the same level of importance) to get him to calm down.

BUT THEN HE GOES ANYWAYS. HE GOES AND LITERALLY THIRD-WHEELS.

But then. BUT THEN! The date's roommate shows up to scope out the situation, and sees Nic just suffering. Invites him to go mess around in the arcade for a while. Introduces himself as Chase.

Topher texts Nic later and is like "I'm going to this guy's place, thanks for coming sorry I couldn't find you before leaving" and Chase is like "Great, guess I'm sleeping in my car again." Nic doesn't catch on to what the situation is, so Chase explains it. Knee-jerk reaction, Nic invites Chase to spend the night at his apartment (which he and Brooke share but have their own rooms) so he doesn't have to sleep in his car.

And then... Chase just never really leaves. He's got a mattress on the floor in Nic's room, and slowly his stuff starts appearing in the apartment. He offers to chip in with rent, since it's only fair.

And one fateful night (/j), Chase is losing his mind trying to fall asleep because it is so cold in the room and his only has one blanket. Nic has about 5 blankets on his bed, clearly the solution is to ask for one. Nic, being the stingy guy he is, tells Chase that he needs to be buried in blankets in order to sleep. "Well, fine then! I guess you’re just gonna hafta share the whole damn bed with me!”

Nic panics, and Chase realizes what he said and quickly retracts the joke. But then Nic agrees it's fine if it's just for the blankets—since he trusts Chase and he knows that he's aware of his whole "I don't like physical intimacy" thing. But then Chase makes a joke about "Sorry if I accidentally touch you in my sleep" and Nic tells him if he thinks he might, he should just stay on the floor. Chase goes back to the floor, much to Nic's dismay. Neither of them sleep very well that night.

Nic's late to work the next morning and has a pretty lousy day. He comes home and Chase is literally in the middle of making dinner. "I thought you wouldn't want to worry about what to eat after getting home--" and Nic just. hugs him so tightly. He feels so cared about and loved and doesn't know what to do with himself.

Then they actually communicate about everything and their boundaries, and they sort of define their relationship, but Nic has finally made peace with the fact that it's okay to not feel like you fit any labels. He and Chase decide to call each other "companions" because that's what they are, and it doesn't automatically imply too much about their relationship.

They do eventually get comfortable enough with each other that they can sleep on the same bed, and Nic does like being held by Chase. He knows it will never lead into anything more, and that makes him feel safe and able to be vulnerable. (However this is also a comedic thing because Nic is a morning person and Chase is very much NOT. So picture being trapped in bed trying to get this hulking ex-wrestler dude to be conscious enough to move and let you escape so you can go to work.)

ANYWAYS. YEAH. LOTTA STUFF. GOLD STAR IF YOU READ IT ALL BUT OBVIOUSLY NO PRESSURE DUHAUDHFHUAFFAUH

I just want to ramble because there is no way to explain just how excited I am to get to publishing the part of Minding Q's where Nic and Chase are introduced

Because here’s the thing. Their relationship is simultaneously the most wholesome and most unhinged of anyone in the story so far, and also

Chase is literally the world's biggest jerk for his entire intro sequence. This is because Nic woke him up at 5am and told him they were going on a surprise roadtrip. "You’re driving." Imagine being stuck in a car with the most hangry and sleep-deprived person ever because that’s basically what happens.

Nic spends the entire intro being like "I SWEAR HE'S NOT ALWAYS LIKE THIS I JUST REALLY SCREWED UP THIS MORNING I PROMISE HE'S A SWEETHEART I PROMISE" while there’s this hulking used-to-be-wrestler-now-artist getting ready to kick his legs out from under him (not really but he’s thinking about it)

And then someone asks Nic why he calls Chase his companion instead of his boyfriend and it escalates to "So is it a friend thing or a romantic thing?" And that's literally the one thing that will certainly make Nic snap

Nic threatens Chase with lo-fi music

Chase threatens Nic with "I will flush your wallet down the toilet" "I will throw you into the street" "I will yeet myself out of the window if you do that again"

Chase is the only one that is allowed to carry Nic, but Nic is so tall that Chase is the only one that is actually capable of throwing carrying him

Chase is the one that cooks. Nic thinks it's funny to keep gifting him goofy aprons and yes. Yes it is funny.

Back to the intro scene. Even Sterling knows that Chase is usually a dork. a goofball, if you will. So seeing him fly off the handle in search of pancakes is very concerning. "MY COUSIN LOVES YOU SO PLEASE CALM DOWN SIR--"

Chase will not drink anything that was poured by or opened by someone other than himself. Nic knows this and keeps bottled drinks in the fridge just for Chase as well as juice boxes and Caprisuns because those are pretty hard to tamper with.

"Hey wanna play that new game you got?" "Nic, it's a single-player game." "Yes I would like to watch you play and I can keep an eye out for treasure you miss." (Ten minutes later, "WHY DIDN'T YOU PICK UP THE SHINY THING IT WAS RIGHT THERE" "NIC MY INVENTORY IS FULL")

Nic constantly having to ask Chase what he's drawing before peeking over his shoulder because Nic is SR ace and Chase draws NSFW stuff for a living

Nic coming home from work going "I got a new plant" "WHERE ARE WE GOING TO PUT THAT WE ALREADY HAVE SO MANY" and then their weekend project is building a new shelf

Chase saying thinkgs like "You need a new toothbrush." And Nic is always just like "IF YOU SAY SO???" So Chase just swaps it out with a new one when Nic’s not home.

Chase and Brooke (Nic's twin) having a phase where they are both really into bardcore music and keep playing it around the apartment and they have a bet going to see how long it takes for Nic to break

Nic and Chase know each other so well that they can order for each other without even asking. They just know. There’s never been a single panicked text saying "MAKE SURE YOU GET ME ____" when the other person is getting food. There's complete trust on that front.

Chase gets cold really easily. He chooses to fix this with hugs.

"I found a recipe for Velveeta fudge, can we try it" and Chase just stares at Nic in a brief moment of horror before going "f*ck it we ball" and grabbing his keys to go get the ingredients.

Nic makes it a hobby to find unhinged recipes for Chase to try cooking. Most of them turn out bad but they have fun making them anyways and Chase has a cast iron stomach anyways so nothing really goes to waste

"Hey Chase if I were an animal what animal would I be" "I already told you I'm not drawing you a fursona for free"

Nic going with Chase to the gym just so he can help make sure no one tries to bother him

It's the "Do you think stars have feelings" dynamic except with conspiracy theories instead.

Sorry I had to get that out of my system because I just love my characters so much.
